Does Kerry's 'Plan B' on Syria Originate From 2008 Secret US-Saudi Plan? © Sputnik/ Michael Alaeddin POLITICS

What lies beneath US Secretary of State John Kerry's intriguing "Plan B" and why do American war hawks insist that the Syrian ceasefire agreement is destined to fail? It seems that the US President is about to set off a chain of events that will literally blow up the Middle East, F. William Engdahl warns.

To Wipe Out Terror, The US Is Now Bombing Seven Different Countries

An American bombing raid in Libya on Friday signaled a potentially deepening involvement in the latest front of the U.S. military campaign against the Islamic State—and underscored the expansion of U.S. airstrikes as a tool to combat Islamist terror groups around the globe.

U.S. aircraft are now targeting jihadists in seven countries from North Africa to Afghanistan. And ISIS militants aren’t the only extremists in the crosshairs of American warplanes and drones. The U.S. is also still hunting al-Qaeda operatives and Taliban fighters where these jihadists pose security threats to U.S. allies and interests.

But the civilian toll in these attacks can be high, analysts and monitoring groups say. A United Nations report last year alleged that U.S. drone strikes in Yemen had killed more civilians than al-Qaeda operatives. In September, an American warplane fired on a charity hospital in northern Afghanistan, killing 30 patients and staff and wounding dozens more.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These extrajudicial assassinations have absolutely no standing in American law, no matter the mounds of false "justifications" President Obama's attorneys have dug up with which to justify the practice.

They are not only morally wrong; they are also a weapon which radicalizes more young men, leading to a state of perpetual war, which, of course, the US military/industrial complex just loves.

Russians Ride Fast – Israel Shamir

If the rebels grasp the chance and enter serious negotiations for a coalition government, peace is possible.

The Russians accepted the US proposal to cease fire in Syria (or rather to end hostilities). They had made a similar proposal a few weeks ago, so this is in line with their thinking. Russians have made huge successes in Syria; they achieved an astonishing and unexpected victory with very few losses.

It was a reputational victory it was as well as a military one. Russia entered the Syrian war at a low point internationally.

Here’s How We Got Here: A Short Primer On The History Of The Petrodollar

In 1971, Nixon closed the door by removing the ability of any member nation to convert into gold. The dollar (used as the world’s reserve currency) was still the reserve; however, it was completely fiat at this point. At this time, President Nixon dispatched Kissinger to Saudi Arabia with a scheme that made extortionists pale in comparison.

The ruling House of Saud in Saudi Arabia was offered a deal by Kissinger with four parts.

America’s military would guarantee protection of Saudi Arabia and her oilfields.
The U.S. would also sell the Saudis any weapons needed.
The U.S. would furthermore guarantee protection from Israel and the other countries of the region.
Finally, the Saudi family was ensured that they would rule in perpetuity.

Does ISIS really have SEVEN-FOOT tall executioners? Parts of grisly film showing beheading of 21 Christians were faked, claim experts

So what grade would you give Rita Katz' SITE Intelligence green-screen crew, Michael?

Webmaster addition: D-

I do not think a green screen was used, but it appears there were multiple passes with fewer "ISIS" and "Victims" that were split-screened together to make it look like there were more people. One thing I know for certain is the blood in the ocean water is fake. Real blood in the ocean looks black and washes away instantly. To get the blood used in the Jaws movies, they used a mixture of bright orange tempera paint and Karo Syrup, to counter the water color and to hold the "blood" together. The volume of blood seen in this video would have required totally draining all the "victims" AND the "ISIS" (and most of the production crew as well). :)

“Dirty Players in Geopolitics”: Letter to “Doctors Without Borders” (MSF)

Dear MSF,

A monthly donor of many years, I feel an explanation is in order for my cancellation and further refusal to participate as a MSF “Field Partner.” I am a former military special operations intelligence professional and anti-corruption investigator of many years. Based on my expertise in open source intelligence analysis and closely following several of the ongoing conflicts, including Ukraine and SYRIA, it has become clear MSF is becoming a tool for geopolitical ends. Either you’ve been penetrated by intelligence agencies for this purpose of promoting false flag information operations or your organization is being manipulated to same effect. I cannot, with clear conscious, be a party to this with further contributions.

The several NATO intelligence agencies are in full force pursuing anti-Russian propaganda operations, which likely include the recent attacks on MSF aligned Syrian clinics; purposeful and professional operations intended to smear Russia and President Putin for purposes of generating political capital for pursuit of geopolitical manipulations. Your organization immediately pointing the finger at Assad and/or the Russians, without time taken to properly investigate, is unethical.

Alan Hart explains why politicians are running scared on BDS against Israel - nuclear blackmail by Israel

The conclusion I draw from everything I have learned from nearly half a century of engagement in various capacities with the conflict in and over Palestine that became Israel is that there are two main reasons for the refusal of the major Western powers to confront Zionism in order to provide the Palestinians with an acceptable amount of justice.

One is the influence (declining a little but still awesome) that the Zionist lobby in all of its manifestations has in the corridors of power together with unlimited funds to buy politicians.

The other is fear that if pushed further than they were prepared to go, Israel’s leaders would press a nuclear button or two and more if needed.

This fear is no doubt reinforced in the minds of those Western leaders who are aware of what Prime Minister Golda Meir once said to me in an interview for the BBC’s Panorama programme. As readers of my book and one or two of my blog posts over the years know, she said that in a doomsday situation “Israel would be prepared to take the region and the whole world down with it.”

PCR: The Evil Empire Has The World In A Death Grip

Paul Craig Roberts blogs on the recent release of an updated version of the book "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" by the former "hit man" John Perkins.

PCR:
Perkins shows that despite his revelations, the situation is worse than ever and has spread into the West itself. The populations of Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and the United States itself are now being looted by Hit Man activity.

Perkins’ book shows that the US is “exceptional” only in the unbridled violence it applies to others who get in its way. One of the new chapters tells the story of France-Albert Rene, president of Seychelles, who threatened to reveal the illegal and inhumane eviction of the residents of Diego Garcia by Britain and Washington so that the island could be converted into an air base from which Washington could bomb noncompliant countries in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Washington sent in a team of jackels to murder the president of Seychelles, but the assassins were foiled. All but one were captured, tried and sentenced to execution or prison, but a multi-million dollar bribe to Rene freed them. Rene got the message and became compliant.

Erdogan’s Plan, Islamic Empire or Armageddon

Turkey and Saudi Arabia have made their plans clear to an amazed world, a new Wahhabist empire, an “Islamic State,” not the one the puppet front organization ISIS is running, but a real one with up to a million men in uniform, over three thousand modern combat aircraft and nuclear weapons.

Syria will fall to them, as will Iraq. They will take Jordan in a snap, crushing it from the north and south. The Gulf States are already onboard, willing members while Egypt may hold out awhile, with Israel, as long as it survives, holding one flank while Libya is already “gone,” part of the secret Erdogan caliphate.

Erbil strongman dictator, Barzani has already split Iraq, a “done deal.” He has joined Turkey against not only the PKK but Turkish Kurds who are being wiped off the map and his Syrian brothers, who are being slaughtered to his silence, and of course the government in Baghdad that pays his salary.

Britain lobbied UN to whitewash Bahrain police abuses

Britain has been accused of waging a behind-the-scenes PR offensive aimed at neutering United Nations criticism of Bahrain for its human rights record, including the alleged use of torture by its security forces.

Documents shared with the Observer reveal that the UN’s criticism of the Gulf state was substantially watered down after lobbying by the UK and Saudi Arabia, a major purchaser of British-made weapons and military hardware.

The result was a victory for Bahrain and for Saudi Arabia, which sent its troops to quell dissent in the tiny kingdom during the Arab spring.

Turkey's Ankara False Flag Blaming Syrian Kurds Clears Pathway to Turkish-Saudi Gulf State Invasion of Syria and WWIII

By Joachim Hagopian
February 22, 2016

Turkey’s been blasting away all month long shelling heavy artillery mortars from its side along the Turkish border killing Syrian National Army soldiers, Syrian Kurd forces (YPG), at least, one Russian advisor and defenseless civilians in border villages inside Syria. Widespread reportage of the ongoing daily Turkish artillery barrage into Syria was publicly confirmed by the Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu since February 13th. Though a NATO member, longtime close US ally and next to Empire and Israel among the world’s leading partners-in-crime for state-sponsored terrorism, earlier this week Turkey was asked by Washington to cease its border aggression. Yet Turkish President Recep Erdogan has elected to defy his US master and continues his daily bombardment of northern Syrian villages and Syrian militarily controlled outposts abandoned recently by decimated escaping Islamic State terrorists.

The Empire Doesn’t Retreat or Compromise

Reading mainstream media news, analyses, and opinion pieces about this war is completely useless, as everything is either uninformed and clueless gibberish or propaganda and deception.

I wrote this text over several days and every time I sat down again to continue there came another headline to my mind. The first headline was “Nobody said, that it will be easy,” the second “Waiting for the Turkey-Russia showdown,” the third “Playing the terrorism game,” the fourth “Everything is better than war.”

In the end I settled for the header “The empire doesn’t retreat or compromise.”

This statement stands the test of time, it has been proven throughout human history, and there is only one single exemption, only one short period where retreat and compromise are a possibility. This short period is the time when the empire is in terminal decline and in the process of collapsing.

Moscow calls on US to be responsible in choosing targets for air strikesMore:http://tass.ru/en/politics/858230

Moscow calls on the United States and other NATO countries to show responsibility in choosing targets for their air strikes to avoid casualties among civilians, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a comment posted on the ministry’s website on Saturday.
"We call on the United States and other NATO countries to be responsible and discriminate in choosing targets, like the Russian aerospace forces are doing in Syria. There have been numerous reports about innocent civilians killed in NATO air strikes. The United States and its allies obviously must be guided by international law in conducting such operation. They should not act unilaterally but instead they must coordinate their steps with all members of the international community concerned," the document says.

Bahrain prisoners complain about torture, mistreatment

Bahraini prisoners held at the notorious Dry Dock pre-trial detention center have complained about being tortured and forced to imitate animal sounds.

The detainees at the prison located on the island of Muharraq, northeast of the capital, Manama, said that they are tortured when being taken to solitary confinement, Bahraini media reported on Saturday.

According to the prisoners, they are humiliated and insulted, forced to make animal sounds, adding that they cannot know the names of officers or policemen that torture them because they remove their name tags.

They also complained about the lack of “simplest necessary medications” at the detention center and said they are denied rest as officers force them to sleep early and then raid their rooms in the middle of the night under the pretext of searching.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ah, yes, our "good friends in the Middle East", the Bahraini government, because the US Navy's 5th Fleet is there.

A place where torture is routinely performed on peaceful protestors, and on the first responders who aid them in saving their lives, when the Bahraini police and military start beating them. What a bastion of totalitarianism!!

I would politely suggest that the US is known by the company it keeps, and the Sufi Al-Khalifa monarchy, which has been suppressing its Shiite majority population for decades, may be in for a very rude awakening, if at least some of the changes requested by the protestors are not acted upon.

The late John Kennedy said it best; when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable".

Western weapons and equipment flow freely between the so-called “moderate” rebels in Syria and their close allies from extremist groups like al-Qaida, according to an investigation from a BBC reporter. In a Dec. 17 episode of the BBC Radio series “The Report,” investigative journalist Peter Oborne documented disturbing evidence that the United Kingdom and United States continue to support the the Syrian opposition, particularly the Free Syrian Army, despite ample evidence that they work closely with extremist groups NATO has traditionally thought of as enemies.

THE US DOLLAR JUST BECAME THE OFFICIAL CURRENCY OF ISIS

It was reported this week that the terrorist group, ISIS, recently mandated U.S. dollars be the legal tender in their occupied territories. From now on, the U.S. dollar will be the only form of currency ISIS accepts for tax payments, fines, and utility payments. This recent policy is vastly different from the gold and silver minted currencythat ISIS proposed over a year ago.

In 2014, the group announced they would be minting their very own Islamic dinar, but now it seems they are back to relying on American currency.

Just a few months ago, Turkish police arrested six suspected ISIS members while they were minting coins, but nothing more has been reported about the plan since.

Rumors have circulated in the media that this shift in financial strategy is due to the fact that the ISIS regime is struggling to make ends meet, and that their once plentiful supply of money is now dwindling.

Hillary Clinton, With Little Notice, Vows to Embrace an Extremist Agenda on Israel

Former President Bill Clinton on Monday met in secret (no press allowed) with roughly 100 leaders of South Florida’s Jewish community, and, as the Times of Israel reports, “He vowed that, if elected, Hillary Clinton would make it one of her top priorities to strengthen the U.S.-Israel alliance.” He also “stressed the close bond that he and his wife have with the State of Israel.”

It may be tempting to dismiss this as standard, vapid Clintonian politicking: adeptly telling everyone what they want to hear and making them believe it. After all, is it even physically possible to “strengthen the U.S.-Israel alliance” beyond what it already entails: billions of dollars in American taxpayer money transferred every year, sophisticated weapons fed to Israel as it bombs its defenseless neighbors, blindly loyal diplomatic support and protection for everything it does?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please understand;a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for more serial genocide against the Palestinian people; for more brisk annexation of Palestinian housing in which Palestinians have lived for centuries in the West Bank and East Jerusalem;and more general violence in the Middle East against countries whose leadership is not to Israel's liking.

And that includes almost ALL of its neighbors in the region!!

International community condemns Ankara blast, stands with Turkey

The international community has condemned a car bomb attack in Ankara that killed 28 people and wounded 61 others near the armed forces’ headquarters, parliament and other government buildings.

Bush, 9/11, and Iraq: Trump Gets It Right

by Sheldon Richman, February 18, 2016

Donald Trump, for all his obnoxious demagoguery, is adding value to the presidential campaign by calling former President George W. Former U.S. rulers rarely face consequences for the horrible things they do in office. Condemnation is considered impolite.

Kurds warn Turkey of ‘big war’ with Russia if invades Syria

Russia has promised to protect Kurdish fighters in Syria in case of a ground offensive by Turkey, a move that would lead to a "big war," the Syrian group's envoy to Moscow said in an interview on Wednesday.

"We take this threat very seriously because the ruling party in Turkey is a party of war," Rodi Osman, head of the Syrian Kurds' newly-opened representative office said in Kurdish via a Russian interpreter. "Russia will respond if there is an invasion. This isn't only about the Kurds, they will defend the territorial sovereignty of Syria."

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF in fact this information is true, we may be looking at an intense escalation of this war, happening in a heartbeat.

As reported in consortiumnews.com today:

When President Barack Obama took questions from reporters on Tuesday, the one that needed to be asked – but wasn’t – was whether he had forbidden Turkey and Saudi Arabia to invade Syria, because on that question could hinge whether the ugly Syrian civil war could spin off into World War III and possibly a nuclear showdown. If Turkey (with hundreds of thousands of troops massed near the Syrian border) and Saudi Arabia (with its sophisticated air force) follow through on threats and intervene militarily to save their rebel clients, who include Al Qaeda’s Nusra Front, from a powerful Russian-backed Syrian government offensive, then Russia will have to decide what to do to protect its 20,000 or so military personnel inside Syria. A source close to Russian President Vladimir Putin told me that the Russians have warned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Moscow is prepared to use tactical nuclear weapons if necessary to save their troops in the face of a Turkish-Saudi onslaught. Since Turkey is a member of NATO, any such conflict could quickly escalate into a full-scale nuclear confrontation. Given Erdogan’s megalomania or mental instability and the aggressiveness and inexperience of Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Salman (defense minister and son of King Salman), the only person who probably can stop a Turkish-Saudi invasion is President Obama. But I’m told that he has been unwilling to flatly prohibit such an intervention, though he has sought to calm Erdogan down and made clear that the U.S. military would not join the invasion..

However, Obama may not have the luxury of not participating; because Turkey is a NATO member, if it does, in fact, get attacked, the US government would have no choice but to defend it through NATO.

Let us pray that saner, cooler heads will prevail here.

Gang forging passports for ISIS militants busted in Moscow region, 14 suspects detained

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has arrested 14 suspects from an international criminal group involved in forging passports and other documents for Islamic extremists preparing to go to Syria, and those coming to Russia for terror missions.

A joint special FSB and Interior Ministry operation in the Moscow region has exposed an international organized crime network, which was providing forged papers for extremists from Russia and CIS countries.

The gang was busy forging documents for those “illegally heading to Syria to take part in military actions on the side of Islamic State, and also for the militants sent on a mission to Russia by ISIS leaders to conduct terrorist and extremist activities, as well as illegal migrants.”

Greatest Threat to Free Speech in the West: Criminalizing Activism Against Israeli Occupation

The U.K. GOVERNMENT today announced that it is now illegal for “local [city] councils, public bodies, and even some university student unions … to refuse to buy goods and services from companies involved in the arms trade, fossil fuels, tobacco products, or Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.” Thus, any entities that support or participate in the global boycott of Israeli settlements will face “severe penalties” under the criminal law.

This may sound like an extreme infringement of free speech and political activism — and, of course, it is — but it is far from unusual in the West. The opposite is now true. There is a very coordinated and well-financed campaign led by Israel and its supporters literally to criminalize political activism against Israeli occupation, based on the particular fear that the worldwide campaign of Boycott, Sanctions, and Divestment, or BDS — modeled after the 1980s campaign that brought down the Israel-allied apartheid regime in South Africa — is succeeding.

Syria: At the Gateway of Greater War

By Tony Cartalucci

Syrian forces backed by Russian airpower have made major advances across the battlefield along multiple fronts.

Around Aleppo, Syrian forces have cut supply lines from Turkey that were for years, supplying terrorists operating inside the country. Just east of a growing encirclement of the city of Aleppo, a secondary encirclement of so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS) forces is forming as the offensive to relieve Kuweris Airbase has evolved into a northern advance toward Al Bab – a critical logistical hub used by US-NATO-GCC backed terrorists during the initial invasion of Aleppo in 2012 and onward.

Deeper within the interior of Syria, Syrian forces have advanced eastward into the Al Raqqa Governorate, approaching the Tabaqa Airbase. The airbase is a crucial waypoint toward seizing back the city of Al Raqqa itself, which has become the de facto capital of ISIS...

The Turkey-Qatar Military Cooperation Agreement: Turkish Military Presence in the Persian Gulf?

A short while ago Turkey and Qatar announced that they have an agreement in place to further deepen their military cooperation within the framework of the “struggle against common enemies“, which implies the construction of two new military bases: a Turkish one in Qatar and a Qatari base in Turkey.

As it was made clear by the Turkish Ambassador to Qatar, Ahmet Demirok, Ankara is planning to construct a multi-purpose military installation that will become home to some 3,000 soldiers. By taking this step Turkey expects to become a state that is directly influencing security in the Persian Gulf. In the future, this base will also provide Turkish armed forces with an outpost for operations in the Red Sea, North Africa, along with the access to the waters of the Pacific, which Turkey lost back in 1950.

The UAE formed from seven different federations only 44 years ago. On the World Happiness Report in 2015, the oil rich nation was ranked number 20 in the world. Switzerland was named the world’s happiest country, in front of Iceland, Denmark and Norway, with Canada rounding up the top five. However, the report creators singled the UAE out in 2015 for its stated commitment to happiness.

US SHRUGS OFF YET ANOTHER REPORT OF CLUSTER BOMBS LAUNCHED BY SAUDIS IN YEMEN

Following a new report from Human Rights Watch on the use of banned cluster bombs by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, the United States State Department has once again given a statement so the government may appear as if it is concerned. But there have been consistent cluster bomb reports since the U.S.-backed intervention was launched in March 2015, and each time business as usual has resumed with no regard for the civilians killed by these explosives.

On December 29, 2015, State Department deputy spokesperson Mark Toner said, “I don’t have anything here that conclusively points to or conclusively speaks to the use of cluster munitions. We have expressed these concerns, though, about their use in the past.”

A reporter pressed Kirby on September 9, 2015, on how cluster bombs were different than barrel bombs, because the U.S. government condemned the Syrian government for using barrel bombs that killed civilians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Cluster bombs, when they fall, and do not detonate, look very much like toys of some kind.

For curious children and toddlers, these cluster bombs do a tremendous job of tearing them apart, limb from limb, when they do detonate.

And of course, selling these weapons to a government with a human rights record just to the right of Attila the Hun, means you know precisely how they are going to be used, which is precisely what the US government has done here.

And when it comes to money for the US weapons manufacturers, like Textron, the US government has utterly no shame whatsoever;
and of course, the cluster bomb manufacturers, I am quite sure, contribute heavily, both overtly and covertly, to both sides of the aisle, to make sure that the production, and sale, of these weapons continues, unabated.

Iran military advisers in Syria on Damscus demand: Zarif

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says Iranian military advisers are in Syria at the request of the Damascus government.

Addressing the European Union lawmakers in Brussels on Tuesday, Zarif also dismissed media allegations that Iran has sent troops to Syria to fight for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, saying Tehran has no “boots on the ground” but only "military advisers" at the request of the Syrian government.

'No incidents, just professionalism' as Russian jets shadow German Tornados in Syria – Bundeswehr

Russian fighter jets permanently monitor Luftwaffe Tornados performing reconnaissance missions in Syrian airspace, Germany’s flying operations center commander told the media. Both sides act professionally and prevent incidents, he added...

. . . The general believes the Russians want to make it clear that “unlike the international [US-led] anti-IS coalition, they operate at the invitation of the legitimate Syrian government.”

Merkel calls for ‘no-fly zone’ in Syria

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has backed the controversial idea of imposing a no-fly zone over northern Syria to alleviate the refugee crisis as the country plays along with Ankara’s demands for the creation of a “buffer area” along its border.

“In the current situation it would be helpful, if there could be such an area, where none of the parties are allowed to launch aerial attacks, that is to say, a kind of no-fly zone,” Merkel told the daily Stuttgarter Zeitung, when asked by the publication about opening up areas to host refugees.

Saudi awaits US order for troops deployment in Syria: Jubeir

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir has said that any decision for the deployment of special forces to Syria would follow the will of the US-led coalition allegedly hitting hideouts of the Takfiri Daesh militants.

"The Kingdom's readiness to provide special forces to any ground operations in Syria is linked to a decision to have a ground component to this coalition against Daesh in Syria - this US-led coalition - so the timing is not up to us," al-Jubeir told a news conference in Riyadh, adding, "With regards to timing of the mission or size of troops, this has yet to be worked out."

The top Saudi diplomat, however, refrained from elaborating further on the issue.

No Means No!

It's quite simple, really. Russia has said "If any foreign ground forces enter Syria without Damascus' permission, it will be a declaration of war."

Russia says what it means and means what it says; a rarity in today's world.

So the line has been clearly drawn by Russia. Now, it's up to the rest of the world to decide whether or not Russia's statements mean what they actually said?

This is a mistake that many are about to make. The Arabs, ever shifty as a matter of culture, do not realize they are dealing with an absolute. No means no.

The Arabs are acting just plain stupid in this regard. They apparently think if they come into Syria with a big enough force, and fast enough, they will simply over-run the nation.

The idea that their troops will be vaporized by tactical, battlefield, nuclear weapons, didn't even occur to them.
