A 50-Year Occupation: Israel’s Six Day War Started With a Lie

“The existence of the Israeli state hung by a thread,” the country’s prime minister, Levi Eshkol, claimed two days after the war was over, “but the hopes of the Arab leaders to annihilate Israel were dashed.” Genocide, went the argument, had been prevented; another Holocaust of the Jews averted.

There is, however, a problem with this argument: it is complete fiction, a self-serving fantasy constructed after the event to justify a war of aggression and conquest. Don’t take my word for it: “The thesis according to which the danger of genocide hung over us in June 1967, and according to which Israel was fighting for her very physical survival, was nothing but a bluff which was born and bred after the war,” declared General Matituahu Peled, Chief of Logistical Command during the war and one of 12 members of Israel’s General Staff, in March 1972.

EUROPE’S TERROR BLOWBACK: FROM CHARLIE HEBDO TO LONDON ATTACKS

In less than three months, three horrific terror attacks have taken place in the United Kingdom: the Westminster plowing and stabbing incident on March 22by Khalid Masood, the Manchester Arena suicide bombing two months later by Salman Abedi who was known to be a member of Al-Qaeda-linked Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) and was also suspected of having ties with the Islamic State, and now another vehicle-ramming and stabbing atrocity has taken place last night at the London Bridge in which seven people have lost their lives and 48 have been injured.

UAE, Saudi campaign to end Qatar’s independence

As soon as the Arab show of unity with US President Donald Trump in Saudi Arabia had ended, a row broke out between US oil-producing allies that Trump had met and praised during his visit to the kingdom.

Three days after Trump and King Salman declared Iran to be the main sponsor of terrorism, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates accused Qatar of trying to undermine efforts to isolate the Islamic Republic. Saudi newspapers, clerics and even some celebrities attacked the Qatari Emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, accusing him of “stabbing his neighbours with Iran’s dagger”, as they put it.

Analysts pointed out that Saudi Arabia and the UAE are striving to crush any opposition that seeks to weaken the united front against Iranian influence in the Middle East. Both countries are also exerting pressure on Qatar to end its support for Islamic movements such as the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

Sanctions, leaving military base ‘possible options against Qatar’

Qatar was under increasing pressure in Washington this week as Congressman Ed Royce and former Defense Secretary Robert Gates raised possible sanctions and the moving of the US military base out of the country if Doha does not change its ways.

The news comes after a recent diplomatic spat between Qatar and its Gulf neighbors, as well as signs of lukewarm relations between Doha and the Donald Trump administration.

Veteran diplomat Dennis Ross warns US may leave Qatar base

The Trump administration may be prepared to leave Al-Udeid air base in Qatar if Doha does not change certain policies, US diplomat Dennis Ross told Sky News Arabia on Wednesday.

“I wouldn’t be surprised at all if there’s some discussion internally in the Trump administration to make it clear to Qatar that if need be, we’re prepared even to move (from) the base,” said Ross, who served under former presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

Al-Udeid serves as a logistics, command and basing hub for US operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Qatar spent more than $1 billion to construct the air base in the 1990s.

Zbigniew Brzezinski — Paul Craig Roberts

June 2, 2017 ~ ...Brzezinsky understood how easy it was for mistakes to launch a nuclear holocaust. He wanted to end the Cold War for the same reason that Ronald Reagan wanted to end the Cold War. To make Brzezinsky and Reagan the villians, as the left-wing does, when the real villians are the Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama regimes that have convinced Russia that Washington is preparing a nuclear first strike on Russia, is a form of ideological idiocy.

But idiocy in the West is what we live with. The question is: how much longer can we survive our idiocy?

Escalated US War on Syria Likely

In March 2011, Obama launched war on Syria, using ISIS, al-Nusra and other terrorists as imperial foot soldiers.

The aim then and now is destroying Syrian sovereignty, ousting Assad, replacing him with a pro-Western puppet, eliminating an Israeli rival, isolating Iran ahead of a similar scheme against its government, and claiming another US imperial trophy.

That’s what the war is all about, orchestrated by Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. There’s nothing civil about it – one of many Big Lies about what’s going on.

Russia’s good faith efforts to resolve things diplomatically are consistently undermined by Washington and its rogue allies – NATO, Turkey, the Saudis, Israel and others.

NATO’s announced escalated “fight against terrorism” beyond its current involvement in Syria and elsewhere, along with the enormous arms deal Trump arranged with Riyadh is bad news for hoped for Middle East peace.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know what the Vegas odds are concerning US/Russian military starting to trade fire in Syria, but were I a betting person, I would bet that those odds are pretty good for something like this happening, and soon, unfortunately.

I have a really hard time believing that the senior NATO Command really wants a war with Russia over Syria, but apparently, and most unfortunately, this is where things appear to be headed right now.

The Atrocious U.S.-Backed War on Yemen Continues

Horrific conditions in Yemen continue to grow worse:

Cholera deaths in war-torn Yemen have surged into the hundreds, more than a quarter of Yemenis face famine, and parents are selling girls into marriage to buy food, the United Nations said on Tuesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US-enabled, Saudi-led occupation of Yemen has produced human tragedy, death, and disease in monumental proportions.

Mr. President, I am singularly, morally uncomfortable with my country being complicit in war crimes, as it is in Yemen.

And sir, do you happen to remember how many names were on the ballot when Al-Hadi, the corrupt, former President was "elected" ?!?

Only one; that of Al-Hadi.

The Manchester Bombing as Blowback: The latest evidence

The evidence suggests that the barbaric Manchester bombing, which killed 22 innocent people on May 22nd, is a case of blowback on British citizens arising at least partly from the overt and covert actions of British governments. The British state therefore has a serious case to answer. We focus primarily here on UK policies towards Libya but also touch on some of those related to Iraq and Syria.

NATO LAUNCHES ITS OWN OPERATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST

The recent NATO summit took a decision to formally become a member of the US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State (IS), in addition to its training mission in Iraq.

Despite all the speeches ringing alarm bells about the deadly threat coming from the IS – the mortal enemy of the West that vowed to fight it till it exists – the bloc’s combat ready forces are deploying…against Russia in the Eastern Europe! As a result, the alliance has seen no need to counter the IS plans to create a caliphate. It stubbornly turns a blind eye on the peril coming from the South.

Migrant flows are flooding the territories of European alliance members, terrorist acts are committed to kill citizens of the NATO member states, US and Turkish military are fighting the extremists on the ground but the bloc largely limits itself to words of condemnation while demonizing Russia – the country which says it does not want to provoke confrontation and calls for a dialogue!

Webmaster's Commentary:

It has become painfully clear, that the obvious intent of this military intervention, is regime change in Syria.

And the question must be asked; how long before NATO and US forces are in direct conflict with Russia over Syria?!?

And the way I see it, the short answer is, not long.

Daesh and the West's Solid Stench of Death

Whenever the West's formidable military machine adds to its tragic litany of "collateral damage" – in Libya, Yemen, Somalia, the tribal areas in Pakistan – silence reigns. No Muslim full names on front pages.

Whenever NATO-GCC proxies add to their own tragic litany of premeditated massacres – across Syria, across Iraq – the perpetrators are excused because they're "our," "moderate" rebels and freedom fighters.

This inexorable, perverse, logic won't be altered. Now with a twist, because President Trump has explained to a startled world, via his Islamophobe speechwriter Stephen Miller, it's all Iran's fault.

Trump professed his faith while swearing over a glowing orb nestled in Riyadh, the alma mater of all forms of Wahhabi or Salafi-jihadi terror.

The phenomena of Islamic radicalism all over the world is directly linked to the Islamic madrassahs (religious seminaries) that are generously funded by the Gulf’s petro-dollars. These madrassahs attract children from the most impoverished backgrounds in the Third World Islamic countries, because they offer the kind of incentives and facilities which even the government-funded public schools cannot provide: such as, free boarding and lodging, no tuition fee at all and free of cost books and stationery; some generously funded madrassahs even pay monthly stipends to their students.

FBI KNEW SALMAN ABEDI WAS PLOTTING ATTACK & WARNED UK WHO TOOK NO ACTION TO STOP IT

The massive Western police state, that is seemingly expanding at an exponential rate, is there to protect us — or so we are told. However, all the spying, phone call intercepts, spied on emails, facial scanners, CCTV cameras, and loss of freedoms did not stop Salman Abedi from murdering innocent people by detonating a bomb inside the Manchester Arena. What’s more, as we are now finding out, British intelligence was warned ahead of time that Abedi was plotting a terror attack in the UK — and they did absolutely nothing to stop it.

Several months before this terrorist blew himself up at the Ariana Grande concert, FBI agents are said to have to have informed British officials that the 22-year-old was part of a North African Islamic State cell based in the north west of England that was plotting an attack in the UK, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that the deep British state wanted something like this to happen, in order to enforce Prime Minister May's draconian desire to control the net; ban cryptography; and support British sympathies for further British military interventions in Africa and the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia declares all atheists are terrorists in new law to crack down on political dissidents

In a string of royal decrees and an overarching new piece of legislation to deal with terrorism generally, the Saudi King Abdullah has clamped down on all forms of political dissent and protests that could "harm public order". Trump: Dancing with Wolves on the Titanic

Robert Fisk put it best: “Trump Is About To Really Mess Up In The Middle East”. Following his fantastically stupid decision to attack the Syrian military with cruise missiles, Trump or, should I say, the people who make decisions for him, probably realized that it was “game over” for any US policy in the Middle-East so they did the only thing that they could do: they ran towards those few who were actually happy with this aggression against Syria: the Saudis and the Israelis. Needless to say, with these two “allies,” what currently passes for some type of “US foreign policy” in the Middle-East will only go from bad to worse.

JOHN PILGER: THE WHITE HELMETS ARE A “COMPLETE PROPAGANDA CONSTRUCT”

This was my email to John Pilger on the 27/9/2016. I have no idea if it had any influence upon the comments that Pilger made during his interview but the fact that such a respected and admired analyst has finally, publically exposed the White Helmets – as a primarily British-funded, propaganda, shadow state construct, engineered to facilitate intervention in Syria, should be a powerful ally for independent media in their efforts to reveal the pivotal aspects of the dirty war being waged against Syria.

“I am writing to you as a journalist who believes in all the values you have represented to them for the years they have followed you.

Bahrainis hold more anti-regime rallies nationwide

People in Bahrain hold more rallies nationwide in protest at the Manama regime’s recent bloodshed in the besieged village of Diraz, which is home to the spiritual leader of the country’s Shia majority, Sheikh Isa Qassim.

On May 23, Bahraini forces raided Diraz, which has been under a military siege for almost a year, and stormed into the home of Sheikh Qassim.

During the raid, regime forces killed at least five demonstrators, wounded dozens and arrested over 280 people during the crackdown on Diraz, which took place shortly after a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifah in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question of why President Trump is so excellent at making such horrifically bad choices in foreign policy in the Middle East just gives me nightmares.

He's cosied up to one of the worst suppressors of human rights in the region,AKA Saudi Arabia; selling them bombs with which to continue their genocide in Yemen, and ultimately start a war against Iran, which has done absolutely nothing wrong, except develop a truly moderate, Constitutional Muslim democracy, and be the alleged "existential threat" claimed by both Israel and Saudi Arabia.

And the Al Khalifa monarchy in Bahrain?!? Please, don't get me started!!

The Sunni monarchy has been mercilessly persecuting peaceful Shiia protestors who are advocating for a Constitutional Monarchy; they have been jailed, tortured into confessions for crimes they have not committed; convicted by kangaroo courts and given long prison sentences.

Even the first responders who treated these protestors from their injuries and wounds by the Bahraini police have been jailed, tortured, convicted of crimes they did not commit, and committing them to long prison sentences as well.

I have warned the Bahraini government over the years on this blog, that if there was no attempt to achieve a political compromise with their Shiite citizens, there would be a tipping point, and we may well be looking at that tipping point right now.

And it may come at such a price that there will be a violent revolution against the monarchy, and whoever will be in control will be virulently anti-American, because of this country's wholehearted support of this wretched, tone-deaf monarchy, and its government.

At that point, the US 5th Fleet, which is hosted by Bahrain, may well have to find a new home.

Arms Deal Stories Omit War Crimes Arms Will Be Used For

The Trump administration wrapped up a weapons deal with the Saudi Arabian government this week that will be worth up to $350 billion over the next ten years. News of the deal came as Trump visited Riyadh and paid fealty to one of the United States’ most enduring allies in the Middle East.

The vast majority of the reports on the topic, however, omitted a rather key piece of context—namely, whom the weapons will be used to kill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These weapons will be used to complete the Saudi genocide in Yemen, and ultimately, the US and Israel are planning to use Saudi Arabia as a proxy force for a war against the Iranians.

Of course, the gorilla, napping, splayed out all over the Bosendorfer Grand Piano, is Russia; Russian civilian and military leadership has consistently promised Iran that it will come to its aid if it is attacked militarily.

A war against Russia over Iran?!?!?

Folks, this potential scenario is just about as serious as is a heart attack, and my assessment is that it is coming, sooner, rather than later.

That President Trump has thrown the US's lot in with a country with so vile a human rights record, that it makes Attila the Hun look downright compassionate in comparison, just boggles the mind.

But of course, both Israel and the Saudi government want regime change in Tehran, so, that is precisely what President Trump is going to attempt to get them, even though a war against Iran will most likely mean war with Russia.

And such a war is a war that the US military might not be able to win, because at this time in its history, the US military doesn't have the weaponry, the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

SYRIA - TRUTH SLIPS THROUGH IN THE NEW YORK TIMES - NATO PREPS TO FIGHT IRAN AND RUSSIA

The Islamic proxy forces of the "west", al-Qaeda under its various disguises, Ahar al-Sham and even ISIS are mostly done. The latest especially is no longer a capable military force but is reverting to guerilla levels of operation. Its final defeat will take a long time but it must and will be achieved by local forces.

Despite that the U.S. pressed on NATO members to let the NATO organization join its "fight against ISIS". The single NATO members were already part of the U.S. coalition. But NATO as an organization brings large scale command and control capabilities as well as additional resources. (All under U.S. control.)

Webmaster's Commentary:

A larger, regional, if not world war, is coming; we have been in the opening phases of that war for some time now, even though few will acknowledge it.

I am reminded of the second Sherlock Holmes movie, "A Game of Shadows", where the evil Moriarty makes the observation that war is coming, and he has the "lock" on both the bullets and the bandages: so it is with the West's military/industrial complex, which has metaphorically punctured President Trump's throat; swallowed whatever morality President Donald Trump ever had before he took his Oath of Office, and replaced it with the pure, immoral venom of war.

That President Trump has thrown America's lot in with Saudi Arabia, coupled with the huge arms deal he just signed off on, is appalling to me, on every possible level.

This, for a country where its human rights record makes Attila the Hun look downright compassionate in comparison?!?

There is utterly no doubt in my mind that some of those arms will be used to finish the Saudi's on-going genocide in Yemen, then be used against Iran, which is both Saudi Arabia's and Israel's "alleged existential threat" in the region.

And why?!? Because, since the revolution in 79, it has become a moderate, flourishing constitutional Islamic republic, where the rights of religious minorities are protected, and its people are succeeding.

Oh, and don't forget; Israel's government got a little "antsy" over the Saudi deal, so President Trump has just OK'd another $75 million dollars more for "Israeli defense", over and above the $38 billion dollar, 10 year deal deal, signed in December of last year.

PM says US agreed to boost Israel military aid amid concern over Saudi deal

So I give you President Donald "Moriarty" Trump, who firmly believes war is good for business, because our weapons are the only things people from other countries want to buy; and so, war is what he shall have.

Never mind that the US and its allies may well not win this war, particularly against Russia, because this country doesn't have the weaponry; the money, the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a victory in a conventional war against Russia.

Saudis show angry response to pro-Iran remarks by Qatari emir

The Qatari state TV's nighttime newscast on Tuesday showed clips of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the ceremony with the anchor not mentioning the comments, though a scrolling ticker at the bottom of the screen had the remarks. They included calling Hamas 'the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people,' as well as saying Qatar had 'strong relations' with Iran and the United States, dispatches reported.

'Iran represents a regional and Islamic power that cannot be ignored and it is unwise to face up against it,' the ticker read at one point. 'It is a big power in the stabilization of the region.'

HOW THE BRITISH DEEP STATE TURNED MANCHESTER INTO AL-QAEDA TOWN UK

Anti-Gaddafi Libyans living in Manchester had been trained, armed and aided by Britain to wage jihad against the leadership of Muammar Gaddafi.

More and more information is emerging on how the savage terrorist atrocity recently committed in Manchester was a classic case of terrorist blow-back, a phenomenon describing how when western governments fund, arm and aid terrorists, they often come back to commit horrific crimes against the citizens of the countries which funded and aided them.
It has been confirmed that the father of the Manchester ISIS bomber was a member of the al-Qaeda affiliated Libyan Islamic Fighting Group. The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group was initially comprised of battle hardened fighters who traveled to Afghanistan in the 1980s to fight the Soviet Union and the secular government in Kabul.

CIVILIANS KILLED BY US LARGELY IGNORED AS ENDLESS GLOBAL WAR CONTINUES FROM

Contradicting a version of events presented by the U.S. military and reported widely by the corporate press, a human rights group and a journalist in Yemen are citing witnesses who said a raid by U.S. Navy SEALs on Monday night killed multiple innocent civilians and not just "Al Qaeda militants" as the Pentagon claimed.

"This new flawed raid by President Trump shows the US is not capable of distinguishing a terrorist from an innocent civilian."
—Kate Higham, Reprieve. Reprieve, a UK-based human rights group, cited witnesses from the village of Al-Jubah in Marib province, where the raid took place, and offered the names of five civilians killed as Nasser Ali Mahdi Al-Adhal; Al-Ghader Saleh Salem Al-Adhal; Saleh Al-Taffaf; Yasser Al-Taffaf Al-Adhel; and Shebreen Saeed Salem Al-Adhal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"The medically fragile elderly, and infants, are ALWAYS Al Qaeda militants!" - Official US government souse.

But seriously, assassinating medically fragile elderly people, who are someone's grandpa, uncle, or dad, can be a wonderful recruiting tool to get more young men radicalised to the point of wanting to become jihadists in their own right.

It is a tool for creating perpetual war, and our military understand that; and yet, they keep doing it. And the most horrific thing about the US-enabled Saudi war against Yemen is, that the only possible answers have to be political rather than more warfare.

The Moral Myopia of Trump’s Foreign Policy

Saudi Arabia outlaws Christianity as a public practice. There are no Christian churches in Saudi Arabia, and it is against the law to build them. The Saudi Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice actually prohibits the practice of any religion other than Islam. Freedom House, a US government- funded NGO, has designated Saudi Arabia as the "worst of the worst." And lest anyone forget, 15 of the 19 hijackers who flew planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, killing over 3,000 people, were Wahhabi Sunnis from Saudi Arabia. I wonder if Secretary of State Tillerson understands that the Saudi Kingdom openly violates religious freedom, freedom of the press, and basic inalienable human rights, especially for women.

Donald of Arabia: A Disgusting Spectacle

by Justin Raimondo, May 22, 2017

Has there been a more disgusting spectacle during the four months of this presidency than the sight of Donald Trump slobbering all over the barbarous Saudi monarch and his murderous family of petty princelings? It’s enough to make any normal American retch, especially when one remembers what Trump said about them during the election:

“Saudi Arabia and many of the countries that gave vast amounts of money to the Clinton Foundation want women as slaves and to kill gays. Hillary must return all money from such countries!”

And then there was this tweet:

“Tell Saudi Arabia and others that we want (demand!) free oil for the next ten years or we will not protect their private Boeing 747s. Pay up!”

Now Trump’s son in law, Jared Kushner, is calling up Lockheed-Martin to get a discount for the Saudis, personally brokering the biggest arms deal in US history. What a difference a presidency makes!

Trump’s Astonishing Lies & Duplicity In Saudi Arabia His ‘Muslim World Address’ Is Overflowing With BS

In Saudi Arabia Sunday night, Trump addressed the Muslim world – after sealing a $110 billion arms deal, signing a memorandum of intent to supply Riyadh with weapons worth around $350 billion over the next decade.

He exuded deplorable gratitude to his despotic host, falsely claiming he chose “the heart of the Muslim world” for his first foreign trip “to deliver a message of friendship and hope.”

Hardly by agreeing to supply Riyadh with hundreds of billions of dollars of powerful weapons for regional wars and domestic repression.

Claiming is “vision is one of peace, security and prosperity” in the Middle East and worldwide belies America’s destructive agenda, endless imperial wars, escalating on his watch.

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in the Russian capital Moscow on Tuesday, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Securit y Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said the world needs to distance itself from violent and extremist ideologies and measures but some countries, with their dark background of supporting terrorism, are using oil revenues of the Middle East to turn the region into a warehouse of Western weapons.

These countries are spreading insecurity and violence across the region, he added.

Trump’s Art of the Deal in the Middle East: Selling wars and terrorism

It would be funny if it were not so sickening. US President Donald Trump’s whirlwind tour through the Middle East was a “triumph” of make-believe rhetoric over reality. Donald “the peace-maker” is sowing decades of further violence in the war-torn region.

The horrific repercussions of American foreign policy are all around us, from the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories to the ongoing wars in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, to the latest terror attack in Britain where 22 people were killed in a suicide bombing at a concert in Manchester.

With a typical inane understanding of the web of international terrorism that American foreign policy has generated over many years, Trump glibly condemned the bombing atrocity in Manchester as the work of “losers.”

THE MANCHESTER ATTACK - A BLOWBACK FROM BRITAIN'S TERROR SUPPORT IN LIBYA, SYRIA AND BEYOND

It was eastern Libya from where in March 2011 a tribal insurrection to overthrow the Libyan government was initiated. Weapons were flown in from Qatar and handed out to Jihadists. British special forces were on the ground to help the takfiris of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) in their attacks towards the Libyan capital in western Libya. The leader of the eastern front was Abdelhakim Belhadj, a long time al-Qaeda member, After Ghaddafi was overthrown with British help al-Qaeda's flag went up over the court house of the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.

The Islamic State, a splinter part of al-Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for the attack in Manchester. The LIFG was aligned with al-Qaeda.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That the governments of the US and UK believe, as a general article of geopolitical faith, that the invasions; occupations; and expropriations of the resources of other countries, to which they, and their corporate minions, have utterly no moral right, will not ultimately result in horrific actions like this bombing, demonstrates that they are indulging in "magical thinking".

This form of "magical thinking", in the minds of those in the bowels of power in the "deep state" of both the US and UK governments, means that they believe there will be utterly no consequences for these horrific wars for resources upon which both countries have staked their economic futures.

And you have to understand that, because of the way those in power think, when these barbaric acts happen, against totally innocent civilians, it is simply the cost of doing business; people...are irrelevant, and the US/UK Deep States control what is going on in these countries, and what their people want, peace and prosperity, doesn't matter at all.

The "price" of acts like these, is perfectly acceptable to the leadership in both countries, if the acts are not, in fact, false flags, engineered to persuade citizens to give up what little liberties they have left, and surrender them to the surveillance state to make sure they are "safe".

But I would like to politely point out that all the surveillance in the UK did not prevent this horrific bombing; food for thought for my British cousins.

Money...is the only thing that matters to them.

Trump Backs Sunni Radical Islam over Moderate Shi’ism

President Donald Trump signaled to the nations of the Middle East and Muslim world that he strongly backs radical Sunni Islam, mostly embodied by Saudi Arabia’s brand of Wahhabism, over the emerging moderate Shi’ism on display in Iran. Trump’s first visit to another country as president was Saudi Arabia. Trump was also the only president to make Saudi Arabia his first stop after taking office. The decision to honor Saudi Arabia with such U.S. presidential protocol was a calculated one.

US attack kills 7 in central Yemen: Pentagon

At least seven people have lost their lives in a US ground and aerial operation in Yemen’s central province of Ma’rib, the Pentagon says.

Centcom, the US military command in the Middle East, said in a statement that the Tuesday raid had been carried out with the support of the former Yemeni government and had targeted a compound belonging to the al-Qaeda militant group.

“During this operation, US forces killed seven AQAP (Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula) militants through a combination of small arms fire and precision airstrikes,” the statement read.

It said that such assaults “provide insight into AQAP’s disposition, capabilities and intentions,” apparently referring to intelligence that may be obtained as a result of the raids.

Everyone now knows that the US government, Israel, and the Saudi

emphasize this, the US arms industry (owned largely by Zionists) will get

Trump confirms U.S. ties with Bahrain won't face tension

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Sunday that the ties of his country with Bahrain will be stronger and won't face tension after today, Al Arabiya local news reported.

He highlighted that as part of his two-day visit to Riyadh when he met with Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the sideline of U.S.-Gulf summit.
"Relations between the two countries are great, although there were some tensions before that won't exist in the current management. We will build long term ties based on common grounds," he said.

The former U.S administration backed the Shiite opposition in Bahrain since the beginning of unrest in 2011, despite Bahrain is one of its alliance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President: in supporting the Al-Khalifa monarchy, and its brutal, horrific treatment of peaceful protestors, many of whom were tortured to give "confessions", and jailed by kangaroo courts for long sentences, you have just told the world (though it really didn't need too much telling at this point), that freedom, representative government, and democracy don't really matter to you in global dealings, as long as there is money to be made, or services to be provided.

Bahrain is host to the US Navy's 5th fleet, and that appears to be a deal you don't want to mess with.

Trump Puts US on Sunni Muslim Side of Bitter Sectarian War with Shias

The most important aspect of Mr Trump’s two-day visit to Saudi Arabia is that it took place at all. He chose to go first to the world’s most thorough-going autocracy where his speech will be lauded by the state-controlled media.

Almost all of the 55 Muslim rulers and leaders in the vast hall in Riyadh will have breathed a little easier on hearing Mr Trump’s repeated call “to drive out terrorism”, since they have always described anybody who opposes their authority as “terrorists”.

This will be a green-light to people like Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi to go on imprisoning and torturing Muslim Brotherhood members. American pressure on the ruling Sunni minority in Bahrain to stop persecuting the Shia majority was always tame, but Mr Trump’s praise for the island’s rulers may make the situation even worse.

Mattis: Escalation of ISIS War Doesn’t Threaten Civilians

Speaking at the Pentagon, Defense Secretary James Mattis talked up the continued escalation of the ISIS war worldwide, vowing the “annihilate” thousands of ISIS fighters in the Middle East to ensure that they are never able to return to their countries of origin.

At the same time, Mattis downplayed the risk the continued escalation of the war posed to civilians, despite the soaring number of civilian deaths in recent months coinciding with previous escalations, saying that the US would continue its “extraordinary efforts” to keep the civilian death toll low.

In practice, that likely means that the Pentagon will continue to go to almost impossible lengths to publish official death tolls that are far, far lower than the actual figures, Independent groups like Air Wars regularly document civilian deaths from US airstrikes at least 10 times higher than what the Pentagon puts on their official list.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A quick question for Sec Def Mattis; sir, do you believe that any thinking American is believing this utter and complete codswallop for a second?!?

Because, sir, if you do, you are truly, beyond-help delusional.

Thinking Americans understand that the US military presence in Syria is about engineering regime change; and in Iraq, it is about insuring that its leadership is Western-centric; that the oil goes only to countries the US approves of, and that the oil is only sold in American dollars.

Trump & 55 Muslim-majority states sign pact pledging 34,000 troops to fight ISIS in Iraq & Syria

The US and Middle Eastern countries have backed a new pact that promises to provide extra troops for defeating Islamic State, singles out Iran for destabilizing the region, and says that Riyadh is to become the heart of the region’s counter-terrorism operations.

Described as the Riyadh Declaration, the document was signed following US President Donald Trump’s visit to the Saudi capital for a summit that brought in Islamic representatives from 55 countries, and vowed “to combat terrorism in all its forms, address its intellectual roots, dry up its sources of funding and to take all necessary measures to prevent and combat terrorist crimes in close cooperation among their states.”

The exact membership of what the communique called the Middle East Strategic Alliance will be decided next year, but putative members have committed to assembling “a reserve force of 34,000 troops to support operations against terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria when needed.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short translation of the "Riyadh Declaration"; increased war against Syria, by which none of these countries have been invited to assist it in getting rid of jihadists, leading to regime change in Damascus, and ultimately war against Iran.

And the big question I have here, is if things escalate in Syria, and if there is ultimately a war against Iran, what will Russia do, in light of its efforts to defend the Al-Assad government, and has consistently stated that should Iran be attacked militarily, it will come to Iran's aid?!?

FRINGE NEOCON WROTE TRUMP’S SAUDI SPEECH

If there is any doubt Trump was captured early on by the neocons, one only need to look at the speech he delivered in Saudi Arabia.

The 30 minute speech was written by Senior Policy Adviser Stephen Miller, an ally of former Breitbart executive Stephen Bannon and former Breitbart writer Julia Hahn.

Miller organized and promoted “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week” while a student at Duke University. He worked with the notorious neocon firebrand David Horowitz at the time. Josefin Dolton writes:

As a college student, Miller wrote a biweekly column for the The Duke Chronicle, addressing such topics as terrorism, US foreign policy and political correctness. Defending President George W. Bush’s war in Iraq, Miller wrote that “Islamic terrorists have declared holy war on the United States. They have declared a death sentence on every man, woman and child living in this country.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why am I not surprised at this?!?

It has been the Neocon/Israeli/American Deep State's collective desire, ever since the 1979 Iranian revolution, to invade and balkanise this country, for its "temerity" in having overthrown the US-imposed, brutal dictator, the Shah.

Since that time, Iran has been making steady economic and social progress, even though I profoundly disagree with their not allowing women to major in some specific areas in college.

Universities in Iran Put Limits on Women's Options

It's interesting that the US has embraced its former enemy, Vietnam, as a major trading partner, but not Iran; and the primary reason for that is that Israel considers it their "existential threat" in the region, and wants it destroyed, by any means necessary.

What is that phrase heard so frequently in the Middle East, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"?!?

This is why Israel is not complaining too strenuously about the huge military aid package President Trump just approved for Saudi Arabia, because it sees Saudi Arabia as a US proxy to take down Iran militarily.

US STRIKE ON SYRIAN FORCES: THE SCRAMBLE FOR POST-ISLAMIC STATE SYRIA

The tactical scope of the attack was relatively limited, but strategically, the stakes particularly along Syria's territorial boundaries have been raised significantly.

Regarding the attack, US geopolitical analysts appear unanimous regarding the rhyme and reason behind it.

Foreign Policy magazine in a recent article claimed that the strike "showed American commanders are willing to use force to maintain de facto safe zones in the country’s east." The article also attempts to claim these "safe zones" are being used to stand up forces to fight the Islamic State.

In reality, the Islamic State was a creation of the US and its regional allies and meant specifically to "isolate the Syrian regime," according to a 2012 US Defense Intelligence Agency report.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question reverberating in my head, is how long before US and Russian forces actually start to engage, because their objectives in Syria are polar opposites?!?

The US wants "regime change" in Damascus, to make it easier to ultimately invade Iran, but Russia wants to defend and support the government of Bashar al-Assad; these two objectives are completely mutually exclusive.

It is not, at this point, a question of if this is going to happen; only, when it is going to happen.

SPECIAL: Jared Kushner Working for Israel to Enable Saudi Arabian Nuclear Attack Against Iran UPDATE 2: Gulf NATO to Wage War on Iran & Syria

ROBERT STEELE: I have learned from a person I trust that Jared Kushner is being used by Israel to rapidly enable Saudi Arabian nuclear attack capability against Iran. Toyota trucks aren’t all ISIS has managed to buy, capture or scavenge from us. In June, CNBC reported that so far we’ve accidentally furnished the Islamic State with at least $219.7 million worth of weapons, vehicles and other military supplies and gear — and that’s just the stuff we know about.

Based on various reports, CNBC came up with the following laundry list of supplies the U.S. has so kindly provided to ISIS so far.

2,300 Humvee armored vehicles at $70,000 each: $16 million
40 M1A1 Abram tanks at $4.3 million each: $172 million

US Aggression against Syria and the Principles of a “Just War”. “Make America a Global Empire, Again!”

t is already known that all of these terrorists in Syria, including primarily the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/DAESH), are armed and sponsored by the US (and Israel) and their regional quisling states (Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar…).

The terrorists’ original warfare of partisan strategy [i], like by the Muslim Albanian Kosovo Liberation Army in 1995?1999, was based only on direct provoking of the legal and legitimate Syrian state security forces to respond by attacking the terrorists’ posts. Later, well armed and equipped terrorists occupied immense portion of Syria and establishing full scale of ideological and religious terror against the civilians that simply forced a regular Syrian security forces to launch large scale military actions in order to stop the jihadist terror and liberate the country from the criminals but as it is expected with unavoidable number of civilian casualties.

Pentagon plans to 'annihilate' IS fighters

President Donald Trump has instructed the Pentagon to "annihilate" the Islamic State group in Syria in a bid to prevent escaped foreign fighters from returning home, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Friday.

The move to encircle then kill as many jihadists in place as possible -- rather than letting them exit a city and targeting them as they flee -- reflects an increased urgency to stop battle-hardened jihadists bringing their military expertise and ideology back to European capitals and other areas.

The president has "directed a tactical shift from shoving ISIS out of safe locations in an attrition fight to surrounding the enemy in their strongholds so we can annihilate ISIS," Mattis said, using an acronym for IS.

"The intent is to prevent the return home of escaped foreign fighters."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Makes one wonder just how soon the corporate presstitutes will resort to the concept of "body counts" to both justify the US presence in Syria (where, unlike Russia, the US government has not been invited to deal with the Jihadists), and make it appear that the US is "winning", just as happened with the war in Vietnam.

This brief article details the actions, incentives, and related consequences that the United States has created through its attempts to maintain global hegemony through something known as the petrodollar system.

As ISIS is collapsing in Syria and Iraq, sides involved in the conflicts have increased their efforts in the area of the Syrian-Iraqi border. Western-backed militant groups, supported by the US-led coalition’s special forces and airpower, increased their activity in southern Syria.

U.S. ATTACKS SYRIAN GOVERNMENT FORCES - IT NOW HAS TO MAKE ITS CHOICE

Together with its many subordinate NATO and Gulf allies the U.S. has the military and economic power to destroy the Syrian military. It can eliminate the Syrian government under President Assad and occupy the whole country. That would be a large war which would probably escalate into a global fight against Russia, Iran and other countries. It would necessitate a several decades long follow-up occupation for "nation building" while constantly fighting against a large al-Qaeda aligned Takfiri insurgency in Syria and all its neighboring countries (especially in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey where U.S. friendly governments would fall). The war would cost several trillion U.S. dollars, a large number of casualties and cause decades long chaos in a geo-politically sensitive region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My sense here is that the Deep American State will unwisely chose a major war, which will then spill over into Iran, and escalate with Russia.

The US government should have better sense than to believe its own narrative, regarding establishing an independent Kurdistan out of bits and pieces of Iraq and Syria; unfortunately, it does not.

It may not be a war the US military can win, because right now, it doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a war against Russia.

US ATTACK ON SYRIAN FORCES: ASSERTING "SAFE ZONES"

US warplanes struck a Syrian military convoy within Syrian territory, after claiming the forces came too close to US military positions.

In legal terms, it was both an act of war and criminal. The US military is currently occupying Syrian territory without invitation by the Syrian government and without any form of mandate from the United Nations.

In geostrategic terms, the United States is attempting to assert itself and its geopolitical strategy of establishing and subsequently expanding "safe zones" inside Syrian territory in a bid to topple the Syrian government, then divide and destroy the Syrian state.

Foreign Policy, a clearinghouse for corporate-financier funded think tank policymakers, in an article titled, "US Bombs Syria Regime for the First Time," would admit:

Webmaster's Commentary:

TRUMP TO ANNOUNCE $350 BILLION ARMS DEAL DURING SAUDI ARABIA VISIT

Over the past few weeks there’ve been multiple reports of President Trump planning to unveil a massive arms sale to Saudi Arabia during his Riyadh visit, and the figures have kept rising. What was $100 billion earlier this week is now, according to the most recent reports $350 billion.

That would make it one of the largest arms deals in US history, and realistically in world history, and indications are that President Trump intends to present this as part of the push for the creation of “Arab NATO,” and by extension make it about Sunni Arabs confronting Iran.

This single deal would dwarf President Obama’s arms deals throughout his entire term in office, which are estimated at $200 billion, and are themselves the biggest amount of arms sales by any administration in the post war era. Saudi Arabia was a large buyer then, as well.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This deal puts the US and Saudi government and military on a collision course with Russia, whose political and military leaders have pledged to come to Iran's aid, if attacked militarily.

This deal also drives up the very real possibility that there will be a return of the draft in this country, both for its young women, and its young men, because we do not have the troop strength, the weaponry, the manufacturing, or the money right now to successfully combat Russia in a conventional war.

US IS ONCE AGAIN THE AIRFORCE OF ISIS, STRIKING SYRIAN FORCES IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY

Syria and its Russian ally have condemned a deadly US-led coalition air raid against pro-Syrian government forces in a desert area near the country's border with Jordan and Iraq.
Coalition fighter jets on Thursday struck a convoy of militiamen advancing inside a protected "deconfliction zone" north-west of the southern town of al-Tanf, the military alliance said in a statement.

The US, which is leading an air campaign in Syria targeting groups such as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS), said the convoy's advance had posed a threat to US and US-backed Syrian rebel forces in the area.

"This brazen attack by the so-called international coalition exposes the falseness of its claims to be fighting terrorism," a Syrian military source told state media on Friday, confirming that the bombing had killed "a number of people" and caused material damage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bombing a sovereign nation, which has done nothing to this country, except to want to continue to exist under its current leadership, is a war crime.

Both Russia and Syria have every right to be condemning this act, which is part of a concerted, multi-pronged US/Israeli desire to see "regime change" in Damascus.

I don't know what odds Vegas bookies are giving the possibility of US/Russian ground conflict here, but to me, it looks like the probabilities of such a conflict are growing exponentially.

A war against Russia right now over Syria would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could do right now.

Unfortunately, this being stated, however, that is utterly no guarantee that the US government won't do just that.

And right at this moment, in its history, the US military does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome from a conventional war against Russia.

US: Syria Restoring Its Territory Will 'Not Be Accepted'

As we reported last week the Syrian army is making progress in the southern desert. It is edging eastwards towards the Iraqi border and towards joint US-rebel positions at al-Tanf border crossing.

We asked what happens when these two forces come within shooting distance of each other.

The question is all the more acute now as it has become apparent the US believes Syria requires US permission to restore its territory. As The Telegraph reports:

The US has sent a clear message that any government advance towards their base will not be accepted. However, it is unclear how the special forces will react to any serious provocation.

You may have thought it would be the US which required government permission to set itself up in al-Tanf, but apparently it's the other way around. It must be that al-Tanf is actually in Arizona or New Mexico.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Invading and bombing a sovereign country, which has done absolutely nothing against the US, as has been the case in Syria, where there is utterly no declaration of war, constitutes a war crime; I wish someone could explain that to President Trump.

But as I indicated in an article I posted yesterday, President "Moriarty" Trump believes war is great for the US economy, as he is on the cusp of his first visit as President to Saudi Arabia to sign new weapons deals with the Saudi government, which will be used to further the genocide in Yemen, as well as ultimately bring about a shooting war between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia characterises Iran as its "existential threat" in the region.

But the Saudis (and the American military) had better be aware that should Iran be attacked, both political and civilian leaders in Russia have vowed to come to Iran's aid.

War against Russia, in light of the fact that the US military doesn't have the troop strength, the weaponry, the money or the manufacturing to win a convention war against Russia?!?

I really don't think so!!

US-backed rebels suffer major setback as Syrian Army troops capture much of eastern Sweida

This is why the US bombed the Syrians today.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside the National Defense Forces (NDF), resumed their offensive operations in the eastern countryside of Al-Sweida on Thursday, Al-Masdar’s Majd Fahd reported from Damascus.

The Syrian Arab Army’s 5th and 7th armored divisions managed to capture 35km of rebel-held territory in eastern Al-Sweida, today, reaching the imperative Al-Rasi’i Well after a fierce battle with the US-backed Jaysh Assoud Al-Sharqiya (FSA unit).

Gulf States Offer Unprecedented Steps to Normalize Israel Ties in Exchange for Partial Settlement Freeze

The Gulf states have compiled a proposal to take unprecedented steps toward normalization with Israel if the Netanyahu government in turn makes gestures to the Palestinians, such as freezing settlement construction in parts of the West Bank and easing trade restrictions in the Gaza Strip, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The report is based on details from a document that was prepared during discussions between various Sunni Arab countries. According to the report, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which are leading the proposal, also updated the American administration and Israel on the bid.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Such an Israeli settlement freeze will happen...when pigs discover their ability to fly.

Trump’s Plan Finally Becomes Clear. “War is Good for Business”

The first stage of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to restore America’s former dominance as a “manufacturing country” will be announced this coming weekend in Riyadh Saudi Arabia and Washington DC, but its outlines are now already more than clear.

The biggest-ever foreign sale of U.S.-made weaponry will be announced at that time, and, according to a little-noticed report by Reuters on May 12th, an unidentified U.S. government official informed Reuters that “We are in the final stages of a series of deals,” whose size will be of truly extraordinary historic proportions.

Trump will announce during this, his first trip abroad as the U.S. President, starting on Friday May 19th, deals for the fundamentalist-Sunni government of Saudi Arabia to purchase more than $100 billion, and perhaps more even than $300 billion, in U.S.-made weaponry.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, this analysis is true (and I tend to agree with this author), we are looking at generations of endless war and destruction,so long as nuclear annihilation is not triggered.

But when the American military understands that they do not have the weaponry, the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to assure a conventional victory against whoever is the "victim du jour" of those in the bowels of power in the Unhinged Surveilled States of America, that is when those little brass keys will be turned to unleash this country's nuclear arsenal.

Does anyone remember the Sherlock Holmes film " Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows", in which the evil Professor Moriarty was eager to see a war, any war, start in Europe, because he had a lock on both the bullets and the bandages, and would profit handsomely from the outcome of such a war?!?

The cold, hard reality here is that it won't be Donald Trump who will profit directly from these deals with Saudi Arabia; but his big-time military/industrial complex friends will , and that means big time donations to his re-election campaign, assuming he stays in office.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you....President Donald "Moriarty" Trump.

Spread of combat, cholera wreaks misery, collapse in Yemen

Spilling into the hallways of crowded Yemeni hospitals, children writhe in pain from cholera. Displaced villagers roam baking hot plains and barren mountains to evade warring militias.

The escalating outbreak of disease and displacement of tens of thousands by recent fighting has inflamed one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, pushing Yemen's war-pummeled society ever nearer to collapse.

Cholera - a diarrheal disease spread by food or water tainted with human faeces - has killed 180 people in less than three weeks, according to the Geneva-based International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Samira Ali, a worried mother, expressed shock at the scene at Sabaeen Hospital in Sanaa, the ancient capital in the north held by the armed Houthi movement since late 2015.

"My young son suddenly started suffering from severe diarrhea. We went to the hospital and found it full, we couldn't find a place," said Ali, a teacher.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder if this pandemic was deliberately started by the Saudi coalition, through fouling Yemen's water sources; it has been certainly been done before:

During the closing stages of the Rhodesian Bush War, the Rhodesian government resorted to use chemical and biological warfare agents. Watercourses at several sites inside the Mozambique border were deliberately contaminated with cholera.

As death from malnutrition stalks the country, because the US-enabled Saudi military have blocked Yemeni ports, meaning food cannot get in, starving children are most likely to get sick and die more quickly.

Images: Yemeni children starving to death from malnutrition

And yet, the House of Saud; the Saudi Government; the Saudi Military; the US government and US military are completely morally comfortable with these horrific deaths by malnutrition, now coupled with this cholera pandemic.

So I have to ask myself: what kind of monsters are these people for whom the indirect slaughter and genocide of innocent kids, from malnutrition and cholera, is perfectly fine?!?

Jewish life in Iran was 'always better than in Europe'

In Iran it is prohibited by law to have any contact to Israel. Is that difficult for you as Jew?

According to our religious teachings, we must obey the laws of the country we live in. And being a Jew is very different from being a Zionist. There are - and have always been - Jews all around the world who are very critical of the behavior of Israel's government and army. Being a Jew means we must obey Torah and Talmud. Invading other countries and killing innocent people are not Moses' teachings. We cannot accept Israel's behavior as Jewish; it is a political and not a religious movement. I personally think that, as the victims of the greatest genocide in the world, Jews should have more empathy with the Palestinian people.

Shades of 1956 Suez Disaster and the Greater Israel Project: Israel Schemes to Annex The Occupied Territories with US Support

The US Republican President will have the use of billions of dollars in casino funds plus the power of the AIPAC and CFI lobbies in Washington and in Westminster, respectively – both being key players in an international movement to legalise the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.

Upon completion of the land grab, the Netanyahu government apparently intends to carry out a unilateral annexation of the Occupied Territories whilst contemporaneously expelling the 5 million indigenous Palestinians in a forced transfer from their ancestral lands to new refugee camps in adjoining states of Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How in the world does Tel Aviv expect to execute this policy?!?

So Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, a word, please; have the countries to which you wish to expel all Palestinians, which include Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Syria, assented to this hair-brained scheme of yours?!?

My suspicion is, absolutely not; their refugee camps are already overflowing, courtesy of the wars in Iraq; Afghanistan; Syria; and and their ability to take in any more refugees is completely nil.

So how are you going to "relocate" these Palestinians from their homes, arrest them, and drop them over the borders of these countries with a parachute, or just herd them up like animals, and release them at the fuzziest areas of the borders of these countries, and tell those countries' leadership, "These people are your problem now!!?!?"

Or is the real agenda here a very Hitlerian, "Final Solution", which would be to execute all Palestinians who refuse to leave?!?

STATE DEPARTMENT: RENAMED AL-QAEDA NOT A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION - CAN RECEIVE CIA SUPPLIES

Max Abrams, a professor who works about terrorism, came up with this new definition of "terrorism":

Nonstate actors who use violence against civilians for a political goal and haven't been supported by the US.

The highlighted part is "new" to those who have not learned from history and the many occasions of U.S. support for (typically extremely right-wing) terrorist organizations like the "contras" in Nicaragua, OUN fascists in Ukraine or Jihadi Mujaheddin in Afghanistan. It can indeed be argued that the U.S. created al-Qaeda as well as the Islamic State (ISIS).

But lets just be happy that people get again reminded of the issue.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the cold, hard reality here, is that the Government of the United States, and its military, DOES support "Nonstate actors who use violence against civilians..."

How the Sam Hill did this country get to the point of "The ends justify the means", no matter how horrific, and murderous those means are?!?

I am totally disgusted by, and mourn for, my late country, now having devolved from the United States of America into the Unhinged and Surveilled States of America. All Hail, the USSA!

With all of these military misadventures for the last 16 years (ultimately, for private profit) into which the US military have been blithely ordered, none of them can be characterised, by any metric, as being "on the right side of history", or morality, for that matter.

MAJOR BEXALERT!!! : Syrian regime using crematorium to 'cover up' mass murders, State Department says

This is pathetic. The snow is melting so the building is a crematorium! Gotcha!

The Syrian regime is using a site outside Damascus to cremate the bodies of thousands of prisoners it has abducted, jailed and murdered during the country’s long-running civil war, the U.S. State Department alleged Monday.

Acting Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Stuart Jones showed surveillance photos that -- combined with intelligence assessments and other reports -- officials believe show Bashar Assad’s government is complicit in covering up evidence of mass killings at the Sednaya Prison. Located near Damascus, the prison previously has been called a "human slaughterhouse" by Amnesty International.

Jones also charged that the “atrocities” were carried out “with unconditional support” from Russia and Iran.

The U.S. conclusion is based in part on photos that show snow melting near the building believed to be the crematorium.

Turkish PM: US Promises Kurds Won’t Stay in Raqqa

Speaking to reporters today during an official visit to London, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim says that the United States has assured Turkey that even though the Kurdish YPG is being used to invade ISIS’ capital city of Raqqa, they will not keep control of the city after the battle.

These assurances appear to have been made to try to placate Turkish outrage over US plans to arm the YPG with heavy weapons for the Raqqa battle, and for the US choosing to back the YPG in the offensive against ISIS in general, something Turkey has repeatedly condemned.

Kurdish officials have never said anything about conquering Raqqa for somebody else, and it would be unusual for the group to be willing to commit so heavy to the invasion of a city if they didn’t have designs on incorporating it into their self-declared autonomous region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why would the Kurds be fighting at all, if not for an independent Kurdistan?!?

The US government and military need to be very clear as to their ultimate intentions here; otherwise, they may well find Turkey leaving NATO, and leaving them with a vast hole in their garrisoning of the Middle East.

US APPROVES $2 BILLION MISSILE SALE TO UAE

It looks like the weapons manufacturers win again as the US approves selling weapons to a foreign military known for terrorist actions.

Southern Yemen Leaders Launch Secessionist Bid

In a move that is simultaneously seen as undermining the Saudi War in Yemen and also a virtually necessary consequence of that war, a group of political, military, and tribal figures, led by former Aden Governor Aidaroos Zubaidi, have announced that they are launching a formal movement for the secession of South Yemen, making the announcement with the flag of the former country.

South Yemen was conquered by North Yemen in 1994, unifying the country under northern ruler Ali Abdullah Saleh. Saleh ruled unified Yemen until 2012, when Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi was appointed to replace him. Hadi resigned in 2015, leading to the Saudi invasion to try to reinstall him by force.

Northern Yemen is controlled by the Shi’ite Houthi movement now, while the Saudi-backed forces of Hadi rule the south, with the country once again split largely along the historic border. There was always some southern nationalism within Yemen, and the war’s de facto split has brought it back to the fore.

President Assad Rules Out Making Concessions on Syria's Sovereignty

Syrian President Bashar Assad said Thursday he would not make concessions on sovereignty, independence and national interests of his country, in an interview with BELARUS’ ONT channel.

"All the things related to sovereignty, national interests, the constitution, and independence are not the prerogative of the president and he cannot make concessions regarding them. I make concessions on personal issues which are of no importance to the people, the crisis, and they are not required of me anyway," Assad said as translated and quoted by state SANA news agency.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Well then so much for an independent Kurdistan, unless he is driven out of office, and Damascus is "regime changed"; but I can guarantee you, if the US and coalition forces try this, they will be be fighting Russia in Syria.

Saudis Plan $40 Billion US Investment To "Cement Ties With Trump"

Having gone all-in on a Hillary Clinton victory ahead of the elections, Saudi Arabia has quickly pivoted in its "appreciation" of the Trump administration, and having realized that the fastest way to Trump's heart is through the US Treasury's bank account, it is preparing to invest an "unprecedented" amount of money in the US. According to Bloomberg, the Kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund will announce plans to "deploy as much as $40 billion into U.S. infrastructure." The investment will likely be unveiled as early as next week when Trump is scheduled to visit the kingdom.

U.S. New “Plan B” for Syria: Military Escalation

According to the Pentagon, it isn’t necessary to tarnish Syrian President, Bashar Assad, for the U.S.-led coalition’s large-scale invasion to Syria. It is enough to make ISIS cross the Jordanian border. Such a scenario was discussed by Assad at the end of April this year.

This time Washington decided to rely on the Free Syrian Army (FSA), that began an offensive against ISIS in Syria’s Daraa, located about 13 kilometers north of the border with Jordan, on May 9, 2017. Apparently, according to the coalition command, the FSA will force the Islamists to leave their positions and cross the Jordanian border.

In its turn, this could be an ideal pretext for the coalition’s immediate ‘defense’ of its ally. So, according to our sources, more than 400 units of US military equipment and more than 4,000 soldiers have already been deployed along the border between Syria and Jordan. This fact indicates the ongoing preparation for the operation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am getting a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach, that this "exercise" is simply a cover for a planned invasion of Syria, to be set up by the use of a false flag.

And if, in fact, the US military does this, how, please, does the Pentagon and White House believe Russia is going to react?!?

I can absolutely assure you; President Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, and Sergei Lavrov, will NOT be holding hands, and singing "Kumbyah", should such a situation develop.

Retired General: Jordan Won’t Support Ground Invasion of Syria

A new round of joint military exercises has fueled considerable speculation among Jordanians that their government may be about to participate in a surprise US invasion of Syria. The speculation was growing to the point Syria issued a statement yesterday warning them against doing so.

Those familiar with the situation say it’s likely an idle rumor, however, with retired Gen. Mousa al-Odwan, a former special forces commander, saying he doesn’t believe the Jordanian government would offer direct military support in the event of any ground invasion of Syria.

Jordanian political analysts appeared to agree with this assessment, saying their nation’s military is in no position to get into a protracted involvement in a ground war in Syria, and that doing so would have “dire consequences” for the nation’s military and its stability.

While Jordan isn’t on good terms with Syria, their official stance is that the Syrian Civil War should be resolved peacefully.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would certainly like to hope that General Mousa al-Odwan's assessment of the situation is correct.

Cholera outbreak in Yemen kills 34 people, may spiral out of control – WHO & MSF

An acute outbreak of cholera-related cases in war-torn Yemen has claimed the lives of at least 34 people in the past two weeks with over 2,000 people still sick, WHO has said. Meanwhile, Doctors Without Borders has warned that the outbreak could spiral out of control.

Cholera, which causes severe dysentery and vomiting, can develop in areas with poor sanitation and is contracted by coming into contact with contaminated water sources.

Webmaster's Commentary:

While cholera has not been weaponised, per se, it is documented as having been used to poison water sources:

During the closing stages of the Rhodesian Bush War, the Rhodesian government resorted to use chemical and biological warfare agents. Watercourses at several sites inside the Mozambique border were deliberately contaminated with cholera. These biological attacks had little impact on the fighting capability of ZANLA, but caused considerable distress to the local population. The Rhodesians also experimented with several other pathogens and toxins for use in their counterinsurgency. [67]

So, one has to wonder; have the Saudis taken a page from the biological warfare book, and done this to the water in Yemen?!?

You can bet that the Saudi military are not drinking from local water resources.

Given the other war crimes in which the Saudi and US military have indulged, I frankly wouldn't put it past them.

WEAPONS TO HELP YPG FIGHTERS IN RAQQA OFFENSIVE, NO TIMELINE DISCLOSED FOR START OF SUPPLYING ARMS

Turkey's 'sultan for life' Erdogan will not be happy. NBC News is reporting that two US defense officials have confirmed President Trump has approved a plan to arm the Syrian Kurdish militia - an important U.S. ally in Syria in the fight against ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please; re-drawing the maps in the Middle East to your liking may well have consequences you and your team may not have considered, and may well not be of your liking.

Your pretext here is having the Kurds fighting ISIS/ISIL, but it is a completely false premise.

ISIL/ISIS was a deliberate creation by the US government to prevent the Syrian government from continuing, and supposedly create regime change in Damascus.

Michael Flynn: The Rise of the “Islamic State” (ISIL) Was “A Willful Decision” of the Obama White House: Former DIA Chief

The creating of an Independent Kurdistan, to be cobbled together from territory currently claimed, respectively, by Turkey and Syria, will cost a great deal, in blood and money, and neither country is willing to give the territory up for the creation of such a country.

Al-Assad will either have to be assassinated, or regime changed by a vote; and Turkey's Erdogan may well pull Turkey out of NATO, which would put the alliance at great strategic discomfort.

And lastly, Mr. President, Russia's Putin will not stand idly by when the US and Kurdish forces attempt to carve up sovereign Syrian territory; this arming of the Syrian Kurdish militia in Syria will be seen as a definite attempt at Syrian destabilisation, and tantamount to an act of war it.

US Says We Fly Where We Want in Syria

Washington, Pentagon. The US has responded to Russia’s creation of “no fly zones” in Syria by indicating the US will fly “wherever it wants” and “whenever it pleases” according to Pentagon spokespersons.

The Coalition forces headed by the US will strike at the Islamic State anywhere in Syria, including in the security zones established by Russia, Turkey and Iran, In Russian news agency reports citing a Pentagon representative.

Earlier, Russia, Turkey and Iran signed a memorandum on the establishment of security zones in Syria. According to the memorandum, check points and observation centers will be established along the borders of these security zones. The zones exclude aircraft from hostile action.

When answering the question whether the Coalition will stop the flights over these security zones, the Pentagon official said that the Coalition will carry on with its operations as usual, with no regard for Russia’s plans to end air strikes in the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Well, it sure as heck didn't take that long for Sec Def Mattis to come to his conclusions about flying through these security zones; which means that pilots flying through these regions risk getting shot down by Russian and Syrian ground forces or aircraft.

I am profoundly uncomfortable with the Pentagon making potential sacrificial lambs out of these pilots.

Is the US Preparing A Ground Invasion of Syria? Drones Spot Hundreds of US, Jordanian Armored Vehicles at Border

The US and Jordanian militaries may be prepping a massive invasion of Syria, intelligence reports gathered from surveillance drones suggest.

Damascus is reportedly on high alert after some 400 American and Jordanian military vehicles were located at a Jordanian military base near the Syrian desert border earlier today.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to hope that is not the case, because that will put US troops directly in confrontation with Russian and Syrian troops; that most probably means World War III for sure.

What I would like to hope - and pray - we are seeing , is simply the following:

Syria rejects international forces in safe zones

Syria on Monday dismissed the idea of foreign forces patrolling four so-called de-escalation zones that are to be established under a deal struck by Russia, Iran and Turkey, suggesting Damascus would agree only to Russian "military police" who are already on the ground.

Syria planned to abide by the agreement signed in Kazakhstan last week, Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem told reporters in the Syrian capital, but he cautioned it was "premature" to say whether the deal would succeed.

"There will be no presence by any international forces supervised by the United Nations," al-Moallem said. "The Russian guarantor has clarified that there will be military police and observation centers."

Though he did not specify who the military police would be, he appeared to be referring to Russian observers already in Syria.

SYRIA: THE NEW GOVERNMENT PLANS FOR MOVING EAST

The de-escalation agreement for four fighting zones in Syria has come into effect. The battles between Syrian government forces (red) and the foreign supported "rebels" (yellow) has ebbed in the north, in Idleb and north Hama, in the south round Deraa, around the besieged "rebel" enclaves north of Homs and east of Damascus in east-Ghouta. That does not mean that those areas are peaceful or safe. In the north Turkey is scrimishing with U.S. supported Kurds (purple), in Deraa governate ISIS is infighting with other Jihadi "rebels" and in east-Ghouta various "rebel" groups are trying to eliminate each other.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF this can hold, it ultimately means victory for the Syria government, which is not the outcome those in the bowels of power in the Unhinged States of America want to see happen.

However, that being said, I wouldn't bet against an ultimately large contingent of American-backed rebels sticking a monkey wrench in the works on this soon.

Victim of Yemen's war: the death of Jamila, aged 7

Look at that little girls face. That is what Americans allow the ghouls in the district of criminals to do to children all over the Planet. SHAME!

By Abduljabbar Zeyad | HODEIDAH, Yemen

Eyes half open and sunken deep into their sockets, little Jamila Ali Abdu already looked half dead for most of her 12-day stay at the malnutrition ward of Yemen's Hodeidah hospital.

Too weak to resist the march of disease and hunger in her war-battered country, the seven-year-old's tiny frame was swathed in a childishly bright green shroud and lowered by sobbing relatives into a dusty grave on Tuesday.

March On: Washington May Be Pushing Syrian Kurds' Plan to Extend Territory

Kurdish leaders are pushing for US support for a plan to extend their territory across Syria to the Mediterranean Sea, in order to create a trade route and bolster Kurdish enclaves in the North. The move may run into stiff local opposition.

In a mainstream media interview, Hediya Yousef, head of the Kurdish federalism project, said the Syrian Kurds wanted more territory in the North, in return for helping the US retake Raqqa from Daesh. He claimed the Kurds had a "legal right" to create a trade corridor to the Mediterranean.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Has anyone been discussing this with either the Turkish or Syrian government?!? Neither is going to be too pleased, in light of the establishment of a US-backed, independent Kurdistan.

Jordan, US launch Eager Lion military exercise

Jordan and the United States kicked off Eager Lion, an annual military exercise with about 7,400 troops from more than 20 nations taking part, on Sunday.

US and Jordanian officials said the manoeuvres would include border security, cyber-defence, and "command and control" exercises to bolster coordination in response to threats including "terrorism".

"Joint efforts and coordination and the exchange of expertise ... are needed at the time when the region is facing the threat of terrorism," Jordanian Brigadier-General Khalid al-Sharaa, who will head the exercise, told reporters.

US Major-General Bill Hickman, deputy commanding officer for the American army in the region, said this year's Eager Lion exercise - the seventh so far - is "the largest and most complex to date".

One has to wonder who they are planning to invade NEXT in the Middle East?!?

Saudi Exceptionalism: Trump hates radical Islam, except when you can make money from it

It’s hard to fully capture the irony — not to mention sheer repulsiveness — of Donald Trump’s decision to make Saudi Arabia the first stop on his inaugural foreign trip as US president.

The decision marks yet another rapid rhetorical turnaround for Trump. Candidate Trump was not a fan of the Saudi kingdom. In fact, he was not shy at all about calling Riyadh out in ways that his political opponents dared not dream of.

Trump’s righteous indignation and anger towards the Saudis dissipated almost immediately, however, upon taking office. This has been much to the delight of Washington neocons who have been eager to see more aggressive US policy toward Iran, Riyadh’s top regional foe.

As for all that money Clinton accepted? Well, Saudi cash is just fine if it lines the pockets of arms manufacturers Lockheed, Raytheon and BAE Systems. To quote Voltaire: When it comes to money, everyone is of the same religion.

Arms deals and Yemen slaughter

Webmaster's Commentary:

Through this US-enabled Saudi slaughter of Yemeni people, the United States of America has been - and continues to be - a complicit and willing partner in Saudi war crimes.

I don't know if it bothers you, but it very definitely bothers the heck out of me!!

Jan Egeland, who heads the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), says that seven million Yemeni people are on the brink of famine. "I am shocked to my bones," said Egeland, following a five day visit to Yemen. "The world is letting some 7 million men, women and children slowly but surely be engulfed…" Egeland blames this catastrophe on "men with guns and power in regional and international capitals who undermine every effort to avert an entirely preventable famine, as well as the collapse of health and educational services for millions of children." Egeland and the NRC call on all parties to the conflict, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, the US and the U.K. to negotiate a cease fire.

This weekend, the situation stands poised to become dramatically worse with the apparently imminent bombing, by Saudi Arabia, one of the US’ closest allies, of the aid lifeline which is the port of Hodeida.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The citizens of Yemen are dead people walking, about to be assassinated by the twin plagues of slow famine by starvation, or a quicker, but no less brutal end, through Saudi bombing strikes, to bring back the rule of the Al-Hadi government.

They are generally poor; and in wars like this, the poor are irrelevant, and whose lives should be snuffed out as quickly as possible.

It appears that the House of Saud; the Saudi government and Military, and the US government and military have, collectively, had their consciences surgically removed, to allow this genocide to continue, because it is the means to the end of re-installing the US-appointed Yemeni puppet, Mansour Al Hadi.

I am rather astonished that the US military hasn't been using MOABS and other bombs to completely destroy the civilian population here, because at the end of the day, this appears to be the Saudi and US government and military's design intent.

DESPITE CONCERNS OVER POSSIBLE WAR CRIMES, US CONSIDERS MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR SAUDI ARMS PACKAGE

Despite the devastating and murderous war being waged on the people of Yemen by Saudi Arabia, Washington is working to ram through contracts for tens of billions of dollars in weapons for the despotic monarchy ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump’s trip to the kingdom this month, Reuters reports.

Saudi Arabia is Trump’s first stop on his maiden international trip, a sign of his intent to reinforce ties with the U.S.-allied al-Saud dynasty. The kingdom’s human rights record, both inside and outside the country, has been dismal, and the country has regularly faced condemnation for its open disdain for international law in its onslaught on Yemeni civilians.

The United States has been the main supplier for most Saudi military needs, from F-15 fighter jets to command and control systems worth tens of billions of dollars in recent years. Washington also provides maintenance and training to Saudi security forces.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump has made one thing crystal clear; no matter the genocide and carnage Saudi Arabia will create with these weapons in Yemen, Trump will greenlight the sales of such weapons, because they make American weapons manufacturers more wealthy.

These actions are completely consistent with our "profits uber alles" figurehead of a President, who apparently has the morality of a dead tree stump.

Top US general affirms pledge to 'de-conflicting' operations in Syria with Russian counterpart

The top U.S. military officer General Joseph Dunford and Russia’s military chief of staff affirmed their commitment to avoid clashes in the crowded airspace over Syria, the Pentagon said Saturday.

Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and General Valery Gerasimov chatted on the phone hours after a new Syria ceasefire plan creating “de-escalation” zones went into effect with the backing of Russia, Iran and NATO-ally Turkey.

The two generals agreed to maintain their “commitment to de-conflicting” their respective military operations in the war-ravaged country, Dunford spokesman Capt. Greg Hicks said in a brief statement.

Dunford and Gerazimov also discussed the new ceasefire plan and “both also agreed to maintain regular contact,” Hicks said.

Saudi Arabia’s expected military assault on Yemen will almost certainly cause mass starvation

Three years into Yemen’s brutal civil war, the U.N. says the Arab world’s poorest country is suffering one of the worst humanitarian crises on the planet, and that famine is imminent — a famine that may be accelerated with the help of U.S. President Donald Trump.

For the past two years, the U.S. has provided a Saudi Arabia–led coalition with intelligence and logistical support for its relentless airstrikes against Yemen, which the U.N. says have been responsible for most of the war’s 4,800 civilian deaths. But the U.S. has stopped short of directly assisting in the ground war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Starvation of Yemen's kids through malnutrition, because existing Yemeni ports are blocked, coupled with assassinations of completely innocent non-combatants are no big deal the Saudi military, the House of Saud, or, apparently, the to US government. But here's how that's looking to Yemeni kids and citizens:

Oh, and did I mention that the Saudi military is using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen?!?Images: Saudi Arabian troops using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen

And that these weapons are having the same effect in Yemen that they had in Fallujah, Iraq, with huge spikes of cancers, horrific birth defects, and still births?!?

Having been complicit in Saudi war crimes in Yemen for the past two years, the Pentagon will only see the assassinations of innocent civilians with their "victory" at Hodeidah as simply collateral damage, and of no consequence whatsoever.

In fact, the US government's willing participation and complicity in Saudi war crimes in Yemen very much reminds me of the statement made by the Papal legate at the siege of Montsegur against the Cathars. Upon being informed that there were women and children there, as well as men, he gave the command: "Kill them all; God will find his own."

In fact, I am rather astonished that the US military hasn't dropped MOABS over all the major civilian population centers in Yemen by now, to kill every Yemeni civilian who is still breathing, to put an end, once and for all, to the Houthi insurgency.
