Israel Demands EU Return Hamas to Terror List

The EU General Court's ruling to exclude Hamas from the list of terrorist organizations has sparked a powerful protest in Israel. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu named Hamas a "murderous terrorist organization" and promised to continue to fight it.

Geneva Conventions invoke rights of Palestinians

The international community delivered a stinging rebuke to Israel's settlement construction in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, saying Wednesday the practice violates its responsibilities as an occupying power.

A declaration adopted by consensus among 126 of the 196 parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention insists that international humanitarian law must be followed in areas affected by the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

WATCH THE WICKED WITCH OF THE JERUSALEM POST MELT DOWN

The following lecture by Caroline Glick meted out to Danish Ambassador Jesper Vahr at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference last Thursday is simultaneously so over the top and so typical of apologists for Israel that it deserves wide attention.

Glick, the deputy managing editor of the Jerusalem Post, is a popular right wing public figure in Israel and abroad. Her fans can’t get enough of her, note the uploader of the video (below) thinks she’s “brilliant” and you can hear audience members cheering her on as she berates Ambassador Vahr in this clip. She got a lot of airtime in The New Yorker last month.

As a longtime Glick-watcher I have developed a deep appreciation for her mobile facial expressions and body language. There’s never any doubt how much disdain she has for her adversaries. Whether it’s a good tactic for dealing with diplomats, though– well, judge for yourself.

Israeli troops kill Palestinian during West Bank clash

Israeli soldiers on Tuesday shot and killed a Palestinian during an arrest raid in a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, the military and Palestinian witnesses said.

The Palestinians want to establish a state in East Jerusalem, the occupied West Bank and Gaza, territories Israel captured in the 1967 Middle East war. U.S.-brokered peace talks between the sides broke down in April.

George Clooney’s Fiancée Rejects UN Gaza War Crimes Commission

Amal Alamuddin, actor George Clooney’s fiancée, has turned down a United Nations appointment to a commission investigating possible war crimes in the occupied Gaza Strip during Israel’s military offensive.

The Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council announced Monday that Alamuddin, a Lebanese-born British human rights attorney, would join two other experts on a special commission to investigate looking into possible violations of the rules of war during the Israeli offensive against Hamas. The council is a 47 member-state body elected by the member states of the U.N. Its mission is to promote human rights.

But just hours after the HRC announcement, Clooney’s Hollywood agent, Stan Rosenfield, issued a statement on Alamuddin’s behalf saying she had pulled out of participating in the probe, The Guardian reported.

Collective punishment of 1.8 million human shields in a prison — Newsweek dares publish the truth of Gaza

The evening I left, I passed back by Beit Hanoun. Three young teenagers were digging in the dark… They were clearing the rubble from their family orchard.

The teenagers showed me where they had planted a new clementine tree. As I squeezed back out of the Erez turnstiles, I realised why there was no longer a need to plaster up martyrs pictures on Gaza’s walls. The latest collective punishment inflicted on 1.8 million Gazans had made martyrs of them all.

Gaza: One War, One Family. Five Children, Four Dead

In a house in Rafah in southern Gaza, near the Egyptian border, Nabil Siyam, aged 34, slowly lays out pictures of his family. He only has one arm, the other was blown off by an Israeli bomb during the summer war. The pictures show his wife, Shireen, and their children – Mustafa, 9, Ghaida, a girl aged 8, Abdul Rahman, 6, Badruddin, 5 and Dalal, also a girl, aged nine months. All but Badruddin were killed by the same bomb; the little boy lost a kidney and now plays on his father’s lap. Also killed were two of Nabil’s brothers, two of his brothers’ wives and three of their children, who lived in this house.

Israelis Are Furious Over A Leaked IDF Video

Israeli army officials are outraged over a leaked IDF's video analysis of two Palestinian sea-borne heroic commando raids during the recent onslaught on Gaza.

The nearly six-minute-long debriefing video and audio is made of an amalgam of CCTV footage from secretive army human and electronic surveillance outposts close to the beach at the northern end of the Gaza Strip. The video reveals an outstanding Palestinian heroism, but it also exposes the level of surveillance coverage around Israel’s border. The cuts are taken from various locations, angles and heights, include manned and remote watch towers, helicopters, drones, seaborne weapons-systems viewfinders and targeting systems, all synced together in order to track the Palestinian commandos.

Binyamin Netanyahu says Israel will resist timetable to end occupation

The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, has said he will tell the US secretary of state, John Kerry, that Israel will rebuff any moves at the United Nations to set a timeframe for a withdrawal from territory Palestinians seek for their state.

The State Department has said the two men will meet in Rome on Monday to discuss various proposals for a Palestinian state that are circulating at the United Nations.

Kerry will then meet the Palestinian chief negotiator, Saeb Erekat, and a delegation of Arab foreign ministers in London on Tuesday, who will urge the United States not to use its UN security council veto to block the proposals, Palestinian officials said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US may have boxed itself in. The Arab nations can put real pressure on the US to refrain from a veto by threatening to keep the drop in oil prices in place. If the US complains, Saudi Arabia will just remind the world that this was all the US' idea in the first place, to harm Russia. Israel may be in for a big surprise at the Security council!

‘Suicide Drones’ and the Spoils of War: Israeli arms manufacturers look to cash in on the war in Gaza

Three weeks after Israel’s latest assault on the Gaza Strip concluded, Israeli military and political leaders attended a conference next to Ben Gurion Airport to sell the successes of what Israel dubbed Operation Protective Edge, which killed more than 2,200 Palestinians including 521 children. The annual conference, named “Israel Unmanned Systems 2014,” took place in business-as-usual atmosphere — even with a complimentary beer keg. But the fare was anything but humdrum. Among the offerings were suicide drones, “loitering munitions” that need to explode; a 16-year-old showing off high-tech robots designed by fellow high schoolers and future drone makers; and “premature” weapons, armaments that have not been fully tested before they are used on a live Palestinian population. Such is Israel the military power.

#WeekofAction ~~THE WEST BANK IS NOT FOR SALE!

SHAME on RE/MAX! While Palestinian homes and olive groves are bulldozed to make way for new settlements, Israeli RE/MAX agents are doing business in all the major West Bank settlements, including Adam, Beit Arye, Beit El, Giva’at Ze’ev, Ma’ale Adumim, Oranit, Salit, Sha’arei Tikva and Zufim.

In occupied East Jerusalem, the company markets and rents properties in the settlement neighborhoods of Gilo, Har Homa, Ramot, French Hill and Pisgat Ze’ev. The settlement properties cater to young Israeli couples and first-time buyers by offering less expensive suburban real estate.

Through REMAX you can find —for a cool $1 million—a 4,000 square-foot villa just minutes from Jerusalem, “at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac” in the settlement of Ma’ale Adumin with balconies, high quality materials, and swimming pools for example.

The incident took place on July 7 near the village of Nil'in which has been the scene in recent weeks of almost daily violent demonstrations against the construction of the West Bank security fence nearby.

According to the videotape, which the military said was reviewed by Judge Advocate General Brig.-Gen. Avichai Mandelblit, a Palestinian demonstrator - Ashraf Abu Rahma - is seen handcuffed and blindfolded and being led to a jeep by a high-ranking IDF officer

The video clip shows a soldier aim his weapon at the demonstrator's legs from about 1.5 meters away and then fire a rubber bullet at him. Abu-Rahma said the bullet hit his left toe and that he received treatment from an army medic and was then released by the soldiers.

This is a terrorist occupying army that stops Palestinians from enacting on their rights,” Abu Ein said.

The Israeli Scientific Mind

Palestinian official says medical examination shows Minister Ziad Abu Ein died from being struck and inhaling tear gas; Israeli source: He died from a heart attack.

I am not surprised by this emerging dispute. Israelis are not very good in handling causality unless Jewish pain is detected. In the Jewish universe the Jew is always an innocent victim. But in this case of Minister Ziad Abu Ein, it is a Palestinian person in his prime, who was physically and brutally attacked by a young Israeli policeman. When such an event happens, the Israelis prefer to stick to forensic evidence – they remove any responsibility.

Autopsy reveals Palestinian minister was murdered

The death Palestinian Minister Ziad Abu Ein was the result of beating, teargas-induced asphyxiation and obstruction by the Israeli army to transfer him to a hospital on time, a Palestinian official said, citing official forensic results.

Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister Hassan Al-Sheikh, detailing the forensic results to the official Palestinian radio station today, asserted that the findings show that Abu Ein, who was fatally injured yesterday during an Israeli clampdown on a Palestinian protest against settlements and the Separation Wall near Ramallah, had been "murdered".

"The forensic report is an essential piece of evidence of Israel's responsibility [for Abu Ein's death]," Al-Sheikh said following yesterday evening's autopsy.

He added that the Palestinian authorities carried out the autopsy in an East Jerusalem university hospital after refusing to allow an Israeli medical centre to handle the procedure.

FLASHBACK - Israeli high court decision enables widespread torture of Palestinian detainees

When human rights workers, lawyers and doctors get a chance to speak with Palestinian detainees about their treatment in Israeli prisons, the standard response is ‘?di, meaning “as usual.” After a little prodding, sometimes they will get the details of what exactly is “usual.” (See Bana Shoughry-Badarne’s “Torture in Israel – A Question of Getting Away With It.”)

One man tells of being violently beaten for 80 hours while being told his mother was dying.

Another man was allowed to sleep for two hours every three days for a total of 40 days, while interrogators shouted directly into his ears. (Examples from Shoughry-Badarne’s article.)

When the brutal “interrogation” is exhausted, officers may send the prisoners to a foul-smelling cell, where mold lines the walls and there is a hole in the floor to use as a toilet.

At one point, he also takes a carton of eggs from the back of an Arab-owned commercial van and throws it on the ground.

Leftist Israeli news media presented the video as proof of “settler violence,” but judging by reader reactions to reports on the Channel 2website, an overwhelming majority of the viewers approved of Federman’s actions.

“It is far from the first instance of tampering with, exploiting, and deleting our history, but it is the straw that broke the camel’s back, and so … we formed the Committee of Baghdadi Jews in Ramat-Gan.”

This is how writer, poet and activist Almog Behar described a decision by a group of Jews from Arab and Kurdish backgrounds to speak out forcefully against renewed Israeli government propaganda efforts to counter Palestinian refugee rights by using the claims of Jews who left Arab countries for Israel in the 1950s.

Videos show casual brutality of Israeli army in Hebron

Two videos published by Christian Peacemaker Teams show the casual brutality faced by the people of the Palestinian city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.

The first video, above, shows what happened when a group of Palestinians waving flags attempted to stage a peaceful protest against the closure of “Checkpoint 56” on 29 November.

As Christian Peacemaker Teams explains in a 4 December release, the protestors were immediately met by “a torrent of tear gas and sound grenades rained down from Israeli forces, who were occupying rooftops” above the Bab al-Zawiya neighborhood.

Checkpoint 56 stands between the Bab al-Zawiya and Tel Rumeida districts and leads on to a small section of Shuhada Street. Palestinians are banned from most of the street, once a bustling center of city life, for the benefit of Israeli settlers.

Israelis will soon face a primordial decision respecting the future of their country: whether to define Israel as a supra-national state which accords primary rights, both in law and in fact, based solely on Jewish identity. INTIFADA MOVES FROM THE STREETS OF JERUSALEM TO THE INTERNET

At least that’s what the zionists want you to believe …. none of the following was reported in the Palestinian press leading me to believe that the ‘terrorists’ behind this are actually the zionists themselves.

The zionists have an ‘army’ of hackers who monitor pro Palestinian sites and render them ‘offline’ via DOS Attacks or other methods. My question is why have the sites reported about below not been targeted? Again, in my opinion, the answer is obvious.

Israel confiscates 231 dunams from West Bank villages

Israel has issued new military orders to confiscate and ban the use of tens of dunams of the Palestinian land west of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, Safa news agency reported yesterday.

A Safa correspondent said that yesterday morning; Palestinians found copies of the Israeli orders at the entrance of the Palestinian village of Rantis.

The orders included information telling the villagers that the Israeli army had confiscated 231 dunams from the villages of Rantis, Shuqba, Qibya and Badras for security reasons. They told the villagers to appeal against the decision or claim compensation.

According to Safa, the land which is being confiscated is located along the Separation Wall. The agency believes that it will be used to widen the Wall.

Hewlett Packard (HP) is best known for producing our printers and laptops. But it is also complicit in Israel’s brutal occupation of Palestine and grave breaches of international law. HP provides Israel with specialised technologies which are integral to Israel’s system of oppression of the Palestinian people. HP provides the Israeli navy’s IT infrastructure. The Israeli navy is used to bombard Gaza and enforce the illegal blockade from the sea.

ISRAEL & PALESTINE: THE MAPS TELL THE TRUE STORY

The truth is that far from being the poor victim it likes to portray itself as, Israel is in fact the most aggressive and belligerent nation in the region, having invaded pretty much everyone it shares a border with.

The following maps show just who is wiping who off of the map!

Israeli warships 'shell Gaza coast,' critically injure fisherman

A Palestinian fisherman was critically injured on Wednesday after Israeli warships fired several shells toward the coast near Gaza City, a union official said.

Nizar Ayyash, head of the Gaza fishermen's union, told Ma'an that fisherman Fakher Nizar Abu Riyaleh, 32, was critically injured in the head by shrapnel from Israeli shells.

Abu Riyaleh was taken to al-Shifa hospital for treatment.

An Israeli army spokeswoman told Ma'an she was not familiar with any shells fired at the Gaza City coast.

Arabs Are the Michael Browns of Israel

The shooting took place in early November and was captured on video. The assailant, whose skin shade was different from the cops’, was carrying what has been described by the police as a knife, which he used to bang on the window of a parked police car. After a few moments, four officers exited the vehicle, causing the man to turn and walk away quickly. As can be seen in the video, one police officer then shot the man several times in the back. After the shooting, the police dragged the man’s limp body from the street to the police vehicle. He died a short time later.

Scene from an American city? Nope. Try Israel. The victim was 22-year-old Khayr al-Din Hamdan, an Arab-Israeli citizen, and the shooting by Israeli security forces took place in the northern Israeli city of Kafr Kanna. But it sounds disturbingly like too many incidents that happen in America, and in the past week or two, a number of observers have made the comparison.

THREE MEN AND A NEGRO ARRESTED YESTERDAY

I have been reminded of those headlines recently while reading about ‘Palestinian terrorists’ in the Israeli press. I wrote about this yesterday, but the situation is getting worse as the days go by.

An Arab in Israel is suddenly referred to as a Palestinian if he commits a crime. Just who is the actual criminal? ... That is the question.

Just as the Negro is now called a man, so will the Arab from Palestine be called a Palestinian ... WHEN HE IS NOT ACCUSED OF A CRIME!

Israel's Secret

Here in Virginia, U.S.A., I'm aware that the native people were murdered, driven out, and moved westward. But my personal connection to that crime is weak, and frankly I'm too busy trying to rein in my government's current abuses to focus on the distant past. Pocahontas is a cartoon, the Redskins a football team, and remaining Native Americans almost invisible. Protests of the European occupation of Virginia are virtually unheard of.

Israel razes Palestinian shops in E. Jerusalem

Israeli army bulldozers on Wednesday demolished a Palestinian building and 20 commercial shops in occupied East Jerusalem on claims that they had been built without permission.

"Four bulldozers backed by 300 Israeli troops forced their way into the Shuafat refugee camp early this morning and began demolishing 20 shops and one building," Mohamed Masalmeh, head of the refugee camp's popular committee, told The Anadolu Agency.

He said that Israeli forces had prevented anyone from approaching the area since early morning.

Owned by the al-Dijani family, the demolished properties had sat on 800 square meters of land.

"The targeted shops had included coffee shops, car repair shops, chicken butcheries, vegetable stores, supermarkets and many more," he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

East Jerusalem was never supposed to be a part of Israel and most of the buildings were built before Israel had any authority to issue permits. But Israel declares these buildings illegal and destroys them, claiming it is all the letter of the law. But remember, everything the Nazis did was the letter of law as well. Did that make it right?

The Palestinians Have Managed to Topple Another Israeli Government

Israel’s didn’t perform well in the last round of violence. The IDF didn’t achieve a single military objective. After a few days, its forces withdrew, humiliated and exhausted. The Israeli military admitted that it lacked an answer to Palestinian ballistics, tunnels and fierceness. In addition, the conflict in Gaza spilled over to the West Bank and to Israeli cities. Throughout, Netanyahu’s cabinet reacted slowly. It seemed confused by events. Soon Israelis were openly admitting that the future of the Jewish State was gloomier than ever.

SUDDENLY THERE IS A PALESTINE AND PALESTINIANS

Did you ever notice that one of the hardest words for a zionist to utter or put into print is Palestinian? The word itself confirms that there is a Palestine.

News reports in the zionist media refer to Palestinians as Arabs, or at best, Israeli Arabs.

BUT, if any of the above are involved in a suspected terrorist attack there suddenly is a Palestine and Palestinians, except in the extreme right media as seen below.

Did you ever notice that?

Iconic image heads UN Palestine solidarity campaign

“Crowded classrooms and limited facilities do not dim this girl’s enthusiasm for learning, something shared by all her classmates at the UNRWA girls school, Qabr Essit camp, Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic” — thus reads the official caption to a 1983 image of a young girl at a school for Palestinian refugees in Syria.

This photograph now forms the centerpiece of the UN’s International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. On Tuesday, it will be projected onto buildings in eight cities across the world, in an effort to inspire solidarity with the people of Palestine: Bangkok, Beirut, Dubai, Jakarta, Marrakesh, Seville, Tokyo, Vienna and on the UN headquarters in New York.

Gaza Faces Winter in Ruins

Three months after the war in Gaza, Sadeeqa Naseer still lives in a bomb site. Air strikes turned the two upper floors of her three-storey apartment building in the Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun into a rubble-strewn ruin.

Thirty-five people shelter on the ground floor, where holes blasted in the wall by tank shells have been covered over only by plastic sheeting that does little to keep out the cold wind and driving rain of the fast-approaching winter.

TURMOIL IN JERUSALEM DUE TO THEIR STUPIDITY ( THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT’S)

Almost every conversation in East Jerusalem over the past few weeks has ended with the statement: “They are stupid” – meaning the Israeli government is stupid to behave in such-and-such a way toward Palestinian Jerusalem. If they would just make it easier to obtain construction permits, they say, if they would add just a few percentage points to the budget, if they would not beat demonstrators so savagely, if they did not trump up traffic violations, for example, then the clashes would not spread like wildfire.

This is the consecutive third week with no age restriction on people attending Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and everything went quietly. Got that? No humiliations and restrictions, no rioting.

Letters: Palestinians' suffering

In his Community View, Rabbi Justin Schwartz shamelessly, yet predictably, trots out worn-out holocaust canards and Jewish establishment sloganeering in a pitiful attempt to defend Israel's crimes in Palestine.

Rabbi Schwartz demands more "action." With Palestinians being wasted by the Israeli occupation army and armed Jewish settlers on a regular basis, one wonders what action he demands. Perhaps another genocidal operation, as the one Israel perpetrated in Gaza last summer, in which 2,100 people, including 450 children were slaughtered?
