Rabbis plan to build temple on Al-Aqsa ruins

In the clearest indication of the growing dangers threatening Al-Aqsa Mosque, in an opinion piece published on Saturday, Haaretz discussed a group of rabbis who met to discuss the scheme for the establishment of the Third Temple on the ruins of the mosque. The newspaper published a photograph of a number of rabbis and engineers studying a map of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a piece written by Professor Ronnie Ellenblum entitled "Bells are ringing for the ultra-Orthodox and Secular" [hebrew], the paper discussed the future of Al-Aqsa Mosque which Jews refer to as the Temple Mount.

Although the paper did not identify the rabbis who appeared in the picture, one of them has been identified as Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, president of the Temple Institute, a religious authority that is considered the most enthusiastic about destroying Al-Aqsa Mosque and establishing a temple on its ruins.

Israel violates Gaza ceasefire nearly every day

After Israeli warplanes bombed Gaza on Friday, the BBC described the air strike on “a Hamas facility” as “the first such action since the declaration of a truce in August.”

The short BBC News item, essentially a repackaged Israeli army press statement, added that the strike was “in response” to a rocket fired earlier from Gaza.

The casual reader would understand this to mean that Israel has held its fire since the August ceasefire which ended the intensive bombing this summer that claimed more than 2,200 Palestinian lives.

However, the reality is that Israel has fired on Palestinians in Gaza nearly every day since the 26 August truce.

Israeli Report admits they are Descendants of Khazars

“Israel seems finally to have thrown in the towel. A blue-ribbon team of scholars from leading research institutions and museums has just issued a secret report to the government, acknowledging that European Jews are in fact Khazars. (Whether this would result in yet another proposal to revise the words to “Hatikvah” remains to be seen.) At first sight, this would seem to be the worst possible news, given the Prime Minister’s relentless insistence on the need for Palestinian recognition of Israel as a “Jewish state” and the stagnation of the peace talks. But others have underestimated him at their peril. An aide quipped, when life hands you an etrog, you build a sukkah.

In an unprecedented measure, Israeli authorities have destroyed 1,000 Arab houses in Negev throughout 2014, Anadolu news agency has reported.

Al-Uqaibi reiterated that the Palestinians in Negev would continue their resistance and remain in their land. "Palestinians will not let the occupation control thousands of dunhams to build settlements," he said.

RABBINICAL TAUNTING OF THE SEASON

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach taunted a crowd of human rights protesters in front of the seemingly closed and emptied flagship Leviev diamond store on Madison Avenue. Leviev’s companies have built thousands of Israeli settlement homes and have been accused of abusing and torturing Angolan diamond miners.

Boteach stood in front of the empty Leviev store and began shouting. “Israel,” “Down with Hamas,” “Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East,” “Down with the Palestinians.” He suddenly stopped and complained that he was being videotaped. Police told Boteach to leave as he was drowned out by chants of, “How fancy, how pretty, Leviev out of New York City.” Boteach was accompanied by a young man wearing a scarf for the notoriously racist Beitar Jerusalem football team. Boteach has expressed his support for Hebron’s notoriously violent and racist settlers.

Hamas arrests Gaza jihadis behind latest rocket attack: Israeli official

Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said on Sunday that Hamas detained members of a global jihadi group in the Gaza Strip who fired a rocket into southern Israel over the weekend.

"It turns out that it's one of the global jihad organizations, one of those so-called rogue organizations," Ya'alon said.

CHANUKAH IN GAZA ~~ TIS THE SEASON TO DROP BOMBS

Israel and Palestinian factions signed a ceasefire agreement on Aug. 26 after a deadly Israeli offensive on Gaza that left more than 2,100 — overwhelmingly civilians — dead.

The ceasefire deal stipulated an end to hostilities, and Israel agreed to ease its devastating blockade on the Strip and expand the fishing zone off Gaza’s coast.

However, Palestinians accuse Israeli forces of regular ceasefire violations, with near-daily reports that navy soldiers have fired at fishermen off the coast of the enclave, and occasional reports of Israeli troops shooting and injuring Palestinians near the border.

Israel won't accept "unilateral" recognition of Palestine: Netanyahu

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday, Dec 18 Israel would never accept the "unilateral" recognition of a Palestinian state, after a draft resolution calling for a final peace deal was submitted to the UN, according to Agence France-Presse.

In a statement from his office, Netanyahu accused Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas of "thinking he can threaten us by taking unilateral steps" over statehood.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Did Jews wait for Palestinians' acceptance when they declared Israel as a nation in Palestine..?

Do other nations seek permission of neighbor nations when they seek membership at the U.N..?!!

Theoretically, a customs union carries mutual benefits to the member states. However, as the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development noted in a 1988 report, between 1967 and 1988 the customs union between Israel and the OPT treated the two economies as dualisms that entrenched the status quo, which, at that time, had established the OPT as a reservoir of cheap labor and Israel as a production and export powerhouse.

Israeli official warns that another war against Gaza is looming

An Israeli official has warned that a new Israeli war on the Gaza Strip is coming soon. He stressed, however, that wars are only decided on by politicians, local media has reported.

"In the light of the current escalation, war with Gaza is just a matter of time," claimed the head of the Israeli settlement of Eshkol in the Western Negev, Hayim Yilin. The Israeli authorities claimed on Friday that a projectile launched from the south of the Gaza Strip landed in the illegal settlement. It is alleged to have been the third to be launched since the Israeli war on Gaza during the summer.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Recall that back on December 17th, long before the supposed launch of this rocket into an empty lot in Israel, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon announced that Israel "might be" forced to attack Gaza. How vwery convenient that a "Palestinian" fires a single rocket into an empty stretch of ground in Israel just as Israel is ready to attack Gaza again!

Israel Airstrike Hits Hamas Site In Gaza

Israel's military struck a Hamas site in the Gaza Strip early Saturday in its first airstrike on the Palestinian territory since this summer's war.

The Israeli military said the airstrike on what it called a "Hamas terror infrastructure site" in the southern Gaza Strip was in response to a rocket fired from Gaza into southern Israel on Friday. The rocket fire caused no injuries.

Palestinian residents reported hearing two explosions in the Khan Yunis region of Gaza, in an area that contains training sites for Palestinian militants. No injuries were immediately reported.

Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, an Israeli army spokesman, said Israel's military "will not permit any attempt to undermine the security and jeopardize the well being of the civilians of Israel. The Hamas terrorist organization is responsible and accountable for today's attack against Israel."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This started yesterday, and appears to be open-ended on the part of the Israeli military.

They are most probably bombing schools and hospitals with great glee, even though there were absolutely no reports of injuries where these shells exploded.

I am fully expecting, with Obama off-site, and Americans generally preoccupied with Christmas and New Year's, that the IDF will continue bombing Gaza for as long as they believe they can get away with it.

The Israeli government has got to be made to understand that it cannot continue to wave the Holocaust in the face of the world, while practicing serial genocide against Gazan Palestinians, because this is precisely what is happening.

A few dead here...a few more maimed for live and wounded over there... and the Israeli government thinks, who notices?!?

To the Israeli government and Knesset; the world notices. The question is what the world is willing to do, and I think the will to demonstrate, tangibly, that this is totally unacceptable, is growing among the civilized countries of the world.

Palestinians criticize Canada for boycotting meeting on Israeli settlements

The top Palestinian diplomat in Canada says the Harper government should not have boycotted a United Nations conference this week that harshly criticized Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Said Hamad says Canada should have joined other countries at a conference in Geneva examining the Fourth Geneva Convention, which governs the rules of war and military occupation.

Some 126 countries of the 196 international parties to the convention adopted a resolution Wednesday saying Israel’s construction of settlements does not conform to its international legal obligations as an occupying power.

Along with Israel and the U.S., Canada boycotted the conference, another example of unwavering Conservative support of Israel — a position that has exposed deep differences with the majority of the United Nations.

Israel bombs Gaza for first time since summer assault

Israeli war jets bombed targets in the southern Gaza Strip, witnesses and the army said early Saturday, hours after a projectile from the besieged Palestinian enclave hit open ground in southern Israel.

A spokesman for Gaza's health ministry said there were no casualties in the attack, the first airstrike by Israel on the Palestinian enclave since the summer truce that ended Israel's 50-day assault on Gaza which killed over 2,000 Palestinians, the overwhelming majority of them civilians.

The Israeli army confirmed the strike, which it said "targeted a Hamas terror infrastructure site."

Webmaster's Commentary:

You need to ask yourself if Palestine would fire a single rocket into Israel just as the resolutions on Palestine are about to go before the Security Council. And a moment's thought suggests that Palestine is not that stupid and this is another Israel false-flag.

EU coal in Israel’s sock

The bad news for Israel keeps on coming, and judging by the reactions of Israeli and U.S. politicians, more is yet to come.

The Israelis were aghast at the news that a European court found that Hamas should be removed from the EU’s terror list. Benjamin Netanyahu reacted with his predictable buffoonery and bombast, alleging that Europe has “learned nothing” from the Holocaust.

The reality is that Israel has learned nothing from several decades of warnings by its friends and allies, who have repeatedly said Israeli indifference to human rights law, the provisions of Geneva Conventions, and the realities of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict would lead only to stalemate and backlash.

Commenting on the issue, Lebanon’s Daily Star noted that US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Europe as sympathy for the Palestinian cause was increasing across the continent, both on the street and at a political level. “In recent weeks, parliaments in France, Spain, the UK, Portugal and Ireland have recommended that their governments formally recognise Palestine and Sweden has taken that further step. These steps have left the US in an awkward position and it has still to declare whether or not it would use its veto were a UN resolution on Palestinian statehood recognition to come up soon. Officials have also implied it is not yet set in stone how the US would vote whether a timetable for Israeli withdrawal from [occupied] East Jerusalem and the West Bank was introduced, Jordan having last month circulated a draft motion scheduling November 2016 as a deadline.”

WAR CRIMES: Israel’s ‘Collective Punishment’ of Gaza Released Amid Palestinian Push for Statehood

The human rights group Amnesty International has charged that Israel was in violation of humanitarian law due to the deliberate destruction of civilian buildings in the Gaza Strip following a brutal siege over the summer dubbed Operation Brother’s Keeper.

According to a recent investigative report by Amnesty International, Israel’s actions were tantamount to war crimes based on their unjustified destruction of buildings in the Gaza Strip between August 23-26 of 2014. Even though there were no civilian casualties during the decimation of those buildings, the advocacy group report states that the ‘collective punishment’ was without justification and in clear violation of the international community.

Predictably, Israel has asserted that the buildings destroyed have been allegedly linked to Hamas and that Amnesty International has fallen prey to a conspiratorial plot crafted by Hamas. However, there has been no definitive proof offered by Israel to prove this claim.

As a longtime Glick-watcher I have developed a deep appreciation for her mobile facial expressions and body language. There’s never any doubt how much disdain she has for her adversaries. Whether it’s a good tactic for dealing with diplomats, though– well, judge for yourself.

George Clooney’s Fiancée Rejects UN Gaza War Crimes Commission

Amal Alamuddin, actor George Clooney’s fiancée, has turned down a United Nations appointment to a commission investigating possible war crimes in the occupied Gaza Strip during Israel’s military offensive.

The Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council announced Monday that Alamuddin, a Lebanese-born British human rights attorney, would join two other experts on a special commission to investigate looking into possible violations of the rules of war during the Israeli offensive against Hamas. The council is a 47 member-state body elected by the member states of the U.N. Its mission is to promote human rights.

But just hours after the HRC announcement, Clooney’s Hollywood agent, Stan Rosenfield, issued a statement on Alamuddin’s behalf saying she had pulled out of participating in the probe, The Guardian reported.

Hundreds of torture methods used against Palestinian prisoners during interrogations conducted in Israeli prisoners have been observed by human rights organisations and prisoners’ rights associations.

A report by the United Nations lists around 200 methods of torture. The Israeli rights group B’Tselem listed around 105 torture methods. Regardless of the number, all these reports indicate a grave level of violations perpetrated against Palestinians following their arrest.

Collective punishment of 1.8 million human shields in a prison — Newsweek dares publish the truth of Gaza

The evening I left, I passed back by Beit Hanoun. Three young teenagers were digging in the dark… They were clearing the rubble from their family orchard.

The teenagers showed me where they had planted a new clementine tree. As I squeezed back out of the Erez turnstiles, I realised why there was no longer a need to plaster up martyrs pictures on Gaza’s walls. The latest collective punishment inflicted on 1.8 million Gazans had made martyrs of them all.

Gaza: One War, One Family. Five Children, Four Dead

In a house in Rafah in southern Gaza, near the Egyptian border, Nabil Siyam, aged 34, slowly lays out pictures of his family. He only has one arm, the other was blown off by an Israeli bomb during the summer war. The pictures show his wife, Shireen, and their children – Mustafa, 9, Ghaida, a girl aged 8, Abdul Rahman, 6, Badruddin, 5 and Dalal, also a girl, aged nine months. All but Badruddin were killed by the same bomb; the little boy lost a kidney and now plays on his father’s lap. Also killed were two of Nabil’s brothers, two of his brothers’ wives and three of their children, who lived in this house.

Israelis Are Furious Over A Leaked IDF Video

Israeli army officials are outraged over a leaked IDF's video analysis of two Palestinian sea-borne heroic commando raids during the recent onslaught on Gaza.

The nearly six-minute-long debriefing video and audio is made of an amalgam of CCTV footage from secretive army human and electronic surveillance outposts close to the beach at the northern end of the Gaza Strip. The video reveals an outstanding Palestinian heroism, but it also exposes the level of surveillance coverage around Israel’s border. The cuts are taken from various locations, angles and heights, include manned and remote watch towers, helicopters, drones, seaborne weapons-systems viewfinders and targeting systems, all synced together in order to track the Palestinian commandos.

Binyamin Netanyahu says Israel will resist timetable to end occupation

The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, has said he will tell the US secretary of state, John Kerry, that Israel will rebuff any moves at the United Nations to set a timeframe for a withdrawal from territory Palestinians seek for their state.

The State Department has said the two men will meet in Rome on Monday to discuss various proposals for a Palestinian state that are circulating at the United Nations.

Kerry will then meet the Palestinian chief negotiator, Saeb Erekat, and a delegation of Arab foreign ministers in London on Tuesday, who will urge the United States not to use its UN security council veto to block the proposals, Palestinian officials said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US may have boxed itself in. The Arab nations can put real pressure on the US to refrain from a veto by threatening to keep the drop in oil prices in place. If the US complains, Saudi Arabia will just remind the world that this was all the US' idea in the first place, to harm Russia. Israel may be in for a big surprise at the Security council!

‘Suicide Drones’ and the Spoils of War: Israeli arms manufacturers look to cash in on the war in Gaza

Three weeks after Israel’s latest assault on the Gaza Strip concluded, Israeli military and political leaders attended a conference next to Ben Gurion Airport to sell the successes of what Israel dubbed Operation Protective Edge, which killed more than 2,200 Palestinians including 521 children. The annual conference, named “Israel Unmanned Systems 2014,” took place in business-as-usual atmosphere — even with a complimentary beer keg. But the fare was anything but humdrum. Among the offerings were suicide drones, “loitering munitions” that need to explode; a 16-year-old showing off high-tech robots designed by fellow high schoolers and future drone makers; and “premature” weapons, armaments that have not been fully tested before they are used on a live Palestinian population. Such is Israel the military power.

#WeekofAction ~~THE WEST BANK IS NOT FOR SALE!

SHAME on RE/MAX! While Palestinian homes and olive groves are bulldozed to make way for new settlements, Israeli RE/MAX agents are doing business in all the major West Bank settlements, including Adam, Beit Arye, Beit El, Giva’at Ze’ev, Ma’ale Adumim, Oranit, Salit, Sha’arei Tikva and Zufim.

In occupied East Jerusalem, the company markets and rents properties in the settlement neighborhoods of Gilo, Har Homa, Ramot, French Hill and Pisgat Ze’ev. The settlement properties cater to young Israeli couples and first-time buyers by offering less expensive suburban real estate.

Through REMAX you can find —for a cool $1 million—a 4,000 square-foot villa just minutes from Jerusalem, “at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac” in the settlement of Ma’ale Adumin with balconies, high quality materials, and swimming pools for example.

The incident took place on July 7 near the village of Nil'in which has been the scene in recent weeks of almost daily violent demonstrations against the construction of the West Bank security fence nearby.

According to the videotape, which the military said was reviewed by Judge Advocate General Brig.-Gen. Avichai Mandelblit, a Palestinian demonstrator - Ashraf Abu Rahma - is seen handcuffed and blindfolded and being led to a jeep by a high-ranking IDF officer

The video clip shows a soldier aim his weapon at the demonstrator's legs from about 1.5 meters away and then fire a rubber bullet at him. Abu-Rahma said the bullet hit his left toe and that he received treatment from an army medic and was then released by the soldiers.

Speaking shortly before his death, the minister told reporters why he was at the protest. “This is the army of the occupation and they are stopping Palestinians from acting on their rights. This is a terrorist occupying army that stops Palestinians from enacting on their rights,” Abu Ein said.

The Israeli Scientific Mind

Palestinian official says medical examination shows Minister Ziad Abu Ein died from being struck and inhaling tear gas; Israeli source: He died from a heart attack.

I am not surprised by this emerging dispute. Israelis are not very good in handling causality unless Jewish pain is detected. In the Jewish universe the Jew is always an innocent victim. But in this case of Minister Ziad Abu Ein, it is a Palestinian person in his prime, who was physically and brutally attacked by a young Israeli policeman. When such an event happens, the Israelis prefer to stick to forensic evidence – they remove any responsibility.

Autopsy reveals Palestinian minister was murdered

The death Palestinian Minister Ziad Abu Ein was the result of beating, teargas-induced asphyxiation and obstruction by the Israeli army to transfer him to a hospital on time, a Palestinian official said, citing official forensic results.

Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister Hassan Al-Sheikh, detailing the forensic results to the official Palestinian radio station today, asserted that the findings show that Abu Ein, who was fatally injured yesterday during an Israeli clampdown on a Palestinian protest against settlements and the Separation Wall near Ramallah, had been "murdered".

"The forensic report is an essential piece of evidence of Israel's responsibility [for Abu Ein's death]," Al-Sheikh said following yesterday evening's autopsy.

He added that the Palestinian authorities carried out the autopsy in an East Jerusalem university hospital after refusing to allow an Israeli medical centre to handle the procedure.

FLASHBACK - Israeli high court decision enables widespread torture of Palestinian detainees

When human rights workers, lawyers and doctors get a chance to speak with Palestinian detainees about their treatment in Israeli prisons, the standard response is ‘?di, meaning “as usual.” After a little prodding, sometimes they will get the details of what exactly is “usual.” (See Bana Shoughry-Badarne’s “Torture in Israel – A Question of Getting Away With It.”)

One man tells of being violently beaten for 80 hours while being told his mother was dying.

Another man was allowed to sleep for two hours every three days for a total of 40 days, while interrogators shouted directly into his ears. (Examples from Shoughry-Badarne’s article.)

When the brutal “interrogation” is exhausted, officers may send the prisoners to a foul-smelling cell, where mold lines the walls and there is a hole in the floor to use as a toilet.
