Why Again Is the American Empire the 'Good Guys'?

"Why Are We The Good Guys?" is the title of a brilliant 2012 book by David Cromwell of the media monitoring organization, Media Lens. The book challenges the dominant elite orthodoxy that whatever "mistakes" they may make, the US and its closest allies always mean well - and are an undoubted force for good in the world.

Well, that might have been true in World War Two, when the US, the Soviet Union, Britain and others were fighting the Nazis, but I wonder if there's anyone out there (and whose salary isn't paid by the US defense industry, NATO, George Soros or Rupert Murdoch), who would still claim that the US — and its closest allies — are benign actors in international affairs?

WATCH: The REAL Hillary Just Got Caught on Tape… Arms Flailing, Eyes Bulging, Furious Voice

In a public video message issued Thursday to American laborers, Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton showcased her true personality.

And it was exactly what one might expect it to be: shrill, manic and apt to inspire shudders of trepidation in little children.

Two thirds of voters say they think Hillary is secretly in poor health despite her efforts to shrug off pneumonia concerns

The AP-GfK poll found 51 per cent of voters were very or extremely confident that the 70-year-old Trump is healthy enough to be president.

But only 36 per cent had the same confidence in the health of Hillary, who turns 69 a few days before the November 8 election.

Obama Respects Nothing and Nobody - Us Included

How Obama delights in delivering each line--knowing he can tell Hill's fans any whopper he wants And no one in the American mass media--Left, Right, or Center--is gonna call him on it. For they all feed at the same corporate trough he does. And that means loving endless wars that bring huge profits to the 1%, while killing off poor kids at the bottom.

Nothing is too fantastic. Like Obama's outrageous claim that Trump appeared "on Russian State Television"--in Moscow, one assumes--when actually Trump appeared on the American cable show, Politicking with Larry King. Which is an election-year offshoot of the Larry King Live show --that's been around since 1985 and is as American as apple pie.

Holt Interrupted Trump WAY More Than Clinton In Debate

Moderator Lester Holt was much harsher on Republican nominee Donald Trump than he was on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton during the debate Monday evening.

Holt interrupted Trump a whopping 41 times, either to “fact-check” the Republican nominee, or to ask a follow-up question. Clinton was only interrupted seven times during the course of the 90-minute debate.

Zakharova: When Samantha Power opens her mouth, no "Kremlin propaganda" is needed

As reported earlier, the US’ special UN representative called Russia and Syria’s actions “barbarism.”

Zakharova commented:

“When Samantha Power says something, then one wants to cry out of fear for the future of the world, because it is in the hands subject to these kinds of heads.

Another brilliant quote: the US’ special UN representative, not finding any other argument, compared Russia and Syria’s actions to being barbaric. I understand that she did this for the sake of imagery and in the absence of any facts. But even so, one has to know something about the history of the world.

Guardian Journalist Calls For Fat People To Rise Up Against Trump

A wise man once said, “Woe to thee whom the obese rise against.”

And after Trump’s debate performance last night, it appears that he has drawn the ire of this terribly powerful demographic.

An article written in The Guardian titled “Fat people, rise up! We could swing this election” by Lindy West serves as a rather hilarious call-to-arms for America’s overweight voters.

Trump accuses Lester Holt of letting Clinton off on scandals and Benghazi as claims of bias against NBC anchor mount

Donald Trump complained this morning on 'Fox & Friends' that last night's debate moderator Lester Holt didn't spend enough time quizzing Hillary Clinton on topics like Benghazi and the Clinton Foundation.

'He didn't ask her about her scandals,' Trump fumed.

At the same time, the billionaire Republican was annoyed that the NBC Nightly News anchor brought up some of the skeletons in his own closet, like Trump's 'birther' campaign against President Obama.

In an infographic, Vox.com noted Trump was interrupted by Holt when he was speaking 30 times and he stopped Clinton only 19 times.

God Emperor Trump Triumphs Over Crooked Hillary And Biased Moderator In First Debate

I’d like to begin with a warning: it’s quite possible that the mainstream media will spin this debate in Hillary’s favor in an attempt to disillusion – or black-pill, if you will – Trump’s loyal supporters.

But fear not! Despite what the Lügenpresse might claim, Trump won this round.

With that out of the way, let’s proceed to the debate itself.

The USS Titanic Is Headed for the Iceberg

Since 2000, we’ve had eight years of a Republican president, eight years of a Democrat president, with both parties having control of Congress at various points over the sixteen years. The national debt, after 211 years of this country’s existence, was $5.7 trillion in 2000. Both parties are responsible for the 342% increase over the last sixteen years to $19.5 trillion. Democrats agreed to never end warfare in exchange for Republican support for an expansion of the entitlement state. Meanwhile, the country’s GDP only rose 79% over the same time frame.

Where Is That Wasteful Government Spending?

In early September 2016, Donald Trump announced his plan for a vast expansion of the U.S. military, including 90,000 new soldiers for the Army, nearly 75 new ships for the Navy, and dozens of new fighter aircraft for the Air Force. Although the cost of this increase would be substantial – about $90 billion per year – it would be covered, the GOP presidential candidate said, by cutting wasteful government spending.

Rigged: CNN Poll Claiming Hillary Won the Debate Sampled 41% Democrats Compared to 26% Republicans

A CNN/ORC poll released shortly after last night’s debate found that Hillary Clinton scored a clear victory over her rival Donald Trump. One problem – the survey sample included 41% Democrats compared to just 26% Republicans. While the consensus opinion appears to be that Clinton won on points but Trump achieved his mission of appearing electable, the gross bias exhibited in CNN’s sampling – along with moderator Lester Holt’s failure to ask Hillary any tough questions – will fuel accusations made by Trump supporters that the entire race is being rigged in favor of Hillary Clinton.

Clinton tried to look healthy, and as I mentioned, I don't think she completely succeeded. But Trump needed to solve exactly one problem: Look less scary. Trump needed to counter Clinton's successful branding of him as having a bad temperament to the point of being dangerous to the country. Trump accomplished exactly that."

CIA Whistleblower Kiriakou Honored For Integrity

Former CIA official John Kiriakou, who spent two years in prison for revealing the truth about White House-sanctioned torture, became the 15th recipient of the Sam Adams Award for Integrity at a ceremony at America University.

Last year, PEN Center USA, a human rights and freedom of expression organization, honored John Kiriakou, with its “First Amendment” award. It has since become clear that while John Kiriakou sat in prison, Senate Intelligence Committee investigators were uncovering heinous details about torture by the CIA from its own original banality-of-evil cables, which showed that CIA and others had lied in claiming torture “worked.”

P.C. Language Control and the Rise of the THIRD REICH: Stunning new documentary reveals why we must stop the rise of safe spaces, social justice warriors and progressive fanaticism

At this critical moment in history, we must defend speech freedom or lose it forever, because the Nazi-like P.C. language police on the left demand that you either surrender to them or DIE. Sound familiar? History has been here before, and it didn’t end without massive bloodshed. Eventually, the USA, Russia and other allies had to use kinetic weapons to destroy the Nazi regime and end its “politically correct” genocide against humanity. BOMBSHELL! Hillary’s Lawyers Rigged Debates, Working out “Debate Deal” that included no “Cross-Examination Questions” for Hillary

Our friends at True Pundit reported a month ago that Hillary’s lawyers worked out a “sweet deal” for Clinton, guaranteeing she would not be asked “cross-examination” questions by the moderator.

At all.

This would allow Clinton, who cannot handle stressful questions, to memorize canned answers and rattle them off during the debate.

Here’s an expert from True Pundits report from late August:

Our Opponents Are Mediocrities

I think I too could be a Nobel Prize winner in economics—at least if an interview with Joseph Stiglitz in a recent edition of Le Figaro, the French newspaper, on the occasion of the publication of one of his books published in French, is anything to go by. It is not that Mr. Stiglitz said nothing that was true: Rather it was that what he said that was not actually untrue could have been said by anyone of moderate intelligence and average powers of reflection. Perhaps the Nobel Prize for Economics ought henceforth to be replaced by one for Common Sense. Unlike the one for economics, however, it could not be awarded annually, for there is nothing rarer than outstanding common sense.

During the past three decades, the American people have been kept in the dark about the true status of the Social Security program. Politicians from both political parties give out false and conflicting information on a regular basis, and nobody knows who to believe.

Lester Holt: The Third Debater?

At tonight’s debate, Donald Trump faced off not just against Hillary Clinton, but against moderator Lester Holt. The game of two-on-one saw Holt ask no questions about: -- Hillary’s emails -- Benghazi -- The Clinton Foundation. While ignoring these issues, Holt grilled Trump on stop-and-frisk, the birther story, his comments about women, his many bankruptcies, why he hasn’t released his tax returns — and a host of other issues the media sees as unfriendly to the Republican candidate.

The old Soviet Union was notoriously reluctant to ever acknowledge serious government errors, but its propaganda machinery was of mediocre quality, routinely ridiculed both in the West and among its own citizens. Ex-Speaker Boehner’s Lucrative Return

There are a few certainties in this world: fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, John Boehner’s gotta cry. Remember how a year ago — just a year ago — the former speaker of the House wept when Pope Francis addressed a joint session of Congress? And then only a couple of days later announced he was stepping down as speaker?

There were tears then, too. In part, tears of joy, because Boehner no longer would have to deal with the Freedom Caucus, those tea party Republican bully boys who had been making his life miserable, threatening government shutdowns — and Boehner’s job — at every turn.

Five Times Lester Holt Shilled for Hillary Clinton at First Debate

Again and again, Holt asked Trump tough questions that were straight from the Clinton campaign’s talking points, and which were obvious set-ups for Clinton to attack (and for fact-checkers to pounce on whatever Trump asserted in his own defense).

Here are the five worst examples.

Sep 27 09:12

The first presidential debate was held and Hillary Clinton was proclaimed the winner by the media. Indeed Clinton was able to turn in a strong debate performance, but did she do so fairly? Multiple reports and leaked information from inside the Clinton camp claim that the Clinton campaign was given the entire set of debate questions an entire week before the actual debate.

Earlier last week an NBC intern was seen hand delivering a package to Clinton’s campaign headquarters, according to sources. The package was not given to secretarial staff, as would normally happen, but the intern was instead ushered into the personal office of Clinton campaign manager Robert Mook. Members of the Clinton press corps from several media organizations were in attendance at the time, and a reporter from Fox News recognized the intern, but said he was initially confused because the NBC intern was dressed like a Fed Ex employee.

Lester Holt shows he doesn’t know the meaning of ‘impartial’

But in the last half of the show, Holt started going after Trump. He got into an unfortunate bickering match with the Republican nominee over the latter’s (apparently offhand) support for the Iraq War in a 2002 Howard Stern interview. It was perfectly reasonable to bring up the point, but the exchange became tiresome on both sides, with the two men talking past each other. Holt would have been wiser to simply say, “In 2002, you told Howard Stern you supported the Iraq War. Tonight you say you didn’t. Can you explain?” Arguing with Trump is Clinton’s job, not Holt’s.

NBC's Lester Holt emerges from debate bruised and partisan

Debate moderator Lester Holt came into Monday night as a news anchor with a sterling reputation for being a non-partisan newsman.

He enters Tuesday with at least 40 percent of the country questioning that distinction.

Holt was largely invisible in Monday's debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, and that was a good thing. He mostly allowed the exchanges between the two candidates to simply follow their own path. This led to some of the more heated back-and-forths you'll even witness in such a setting, with Trump and Clinton consistently interjecting during the other's comments, particularly Trump.

But when Holt wasn't being invisible, he was targeting Trump's weaknesses while avoiding Clinton's.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Issues Holt hammered: Trump's taxes, birther, Trump's sexism, and whather Trump supported the Iraq war.

Issues Holt ignored: Hillary's email server, Benghazi, $6 trillion spent on war, Obamacare, Immigration.

Sep 27 07:34

Byron York: Donald Trump's missed opportunities

As he prepared for the crucial first presidential debate, Donald Trump knew moderator Lester Holt would bring up the birther issue. He knew Holt would raise Trump's tax returns. And his old position on the Iraq war. None are among the voters' top concerns, but it was eminently predictable that they would be part of the debate — not least because if Holt had not brought them up, Hillary Clinton would have.

But Trump might not have predicted that Holt would leave some equally, if not more, important topics untouched. There was Obamacare, currently veering towards crisis. Immigration, including a proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. The Clinton Foundation. Benghazi. Certainly a moderator can't cover everything, but those were some pretty big omissions.

Sep 27 07:30

Here's A List Of Lester Holt's Incredibly Biased Questions

Debate moderator Lester Holt showed extreme bias in favor of Hillary Clinton during last night's debate.

While he misleadingly "fact checked" Trump multiple times and asked Trump multiple "gotcha" questions, he failed to fact check Hillary Clinton even once. Holt also failed to ask Clinton about her email scandals, Clinton Foundation pay-for-play schemes, her ailing health, Benghazi, her vote for the war in Iraq and her disastrous intervention in Libya which helped give rise to ISIS.
