The secret GMO war: double agents, betrayal, greed?Dec26

Well, let me put it to you this way. What would happen to Whole Foods’ program of voluntary GMO labeling if there were mandatory labeling across America, or in any state where Whole Foods does business?

Can you guess?

I’ll break it down. Whole Foods has pledged to put “non-GMO” labels on their products by 2018. They’ll do everything they can to sell as many non-GMO products as possible. The products that don’t carry the non-GMO seal will obviously be GMO, and customers can avoid them if they want to.

On the other hand, if suddenly, out of the blue, mandatory labeling became law, the whole voluntary non-GMO label enterprise would be obsolete. Why voluntarily put that label on products when mandatory labeling handles the whole issue?

“We put non-GMO labels on our food. Aren’t we wonderful?”

“Not really. The mandatory labels tell me everything that’s GMO. All the other products are non-GMO. Thanks, but no thanks.”

Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson seeks to buff image in Israel

In his first visit to Israel, the prospective Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said he was in awe of the Jewish state, inspired by its ancient holy sites, impressed by the resilience of people living in a perpetual conflict zone – and deeply disappointed in President Barack Obama.

“I do not believe that Obama has been one to cultivate the relationship,” said Carson, a retired neurosurgeon who has emerged as a favourite of some conservatives in the early field of possible GOP candidates.

ISRAEL …. THE CROOKED COALITION COMES TO LIGHT

Israeli police have arrested more than two dozen current and former officials in a corruption probe, including several from the party of Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, a police spokeswoman said Thursday.

Local media reported that the investigation was one of the most “important” anti-graft operations in the country’s history and could strike a blow to Lieberman’s Yisrael Beitenu party just three months away from a general election.

According to police, “millions” of shekels of public funds have allegedly been transferred to organizations close to the party.

Officials implicated include the deputy interior minister Faina Kirshenbaum, who has been questioned by police. Her daughter Ronit will remain in custody until Sunday, the spokeswoman said.

Former tourism minister Stas Misezhnikov was also detained.

Adding to the long-running saga of IRS dealings with conservatives, former Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell says the tax agency punished her mistakenly for the second time in five years by imposing an erroneous levy on her bank accounts.

Ms. O’Donnell told The Washington Times that she discovered the levy when she couldn’t access her checking account as she was preparing to visit relatives over Thanksgiving.

Surprise! IRS is as crooked as other government agencies, report reveals

Rep. Darrell Issa, who will be turning over his gavel as chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to fellow Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz in January, on Tuesday released a follow up congressional report on alleged corruption, fraud and overall political shenanigans occurring at the Internal Revenue Service. The report should not surprise any clear-thinking American taxpayer since those who actually paid attention to the IRS probe know that the tax-collecting bureaucracy is as crooked -- if not more crooked -- than other federal agencies involved in scandalous conduct, claim a number of law enforcement officials and political strategists.

It’s official: IRS employees biased against conservatives

One IRS employee called a conservative group “icky” while another griped that they would probably “have to” approve a different group’s application for nonprofit status, according to the latest findings Tuesday by the House Oversight Committee.

In a new staff report released by Rep. Darrell Issa, the California Republican who is term-limited as chairman of the committee, investigators also found IRS officials had “repeatedly changed their stories” about what went on and who was responsible for targeting the conservative and tea party groups who applied for nonprofit status.

This Was One Of The Biggest Lies Ever Told

In 2006, Andrew Natsios, administrator of USAID, went on a publicity tour to assuage American fears that the impending war and its aftermath were perfectly reasonable expenditures for the American taxpayer. In this Nightline interview with Ted Koppel he brazenly makes the ludicrous case that the reconstruction of Iraq would cost only $1.7bn. Koppel is so incredulous, he returns to the subject three times, and each time Natsios gets more and more adamant. With the benefit of hindsight its clear now that not only was this a bold face lie, but one that any rational person could have seen through.

The NY Fed shipped approximately $40 billion in cash between 2003 and 2008. In just the first two years, the shipments included more than 300 million individual bills weighing a total of 363 tons.

Since then there have been audits, congressional hearing and investigations that can barely account for a small percentage of where that money actually ended up.

Our corrupt, self-protective, unaccountable Establishment – Michael Meacher MP

The mood of this corrupt closing of ranks to protect one of their own is best caught by the machinations reported today of how the Tory government in 1963 (nothing has changed since) sought to frame Mandy Rice-Davies in order to ‘get’ Stephen Ward because he was about to expose Profumo for lying to Parliament about his affair with Christine Keeler. The Establishment cranked into action. A corrupt Scotland Yard officer had Rice-Davies arrested for a non-existent theft of a rented TV, softened up in prison, and told she would only be released if she testified against Ward. She was subjected to the corrupt bullying of the police, the moralising cant of the prosecutor, and the deep bias of the Old Bailey judge.

Five Westminster paedophile rings probed by Scotland Yard

Police are investigating claims that up to five paedophile rings operated at the heart of Westminster with the involvement of “highly influential” politicians.

A Labour MP who has handed a dossier of evidence to Scotland Yard said he now believed the complexity of child abuse networks at the heart of government in the Seventies and Eighties had been seriously underestimated.

Immigration, open US borders: the secret reason

NAFTA. Obama, during his 2008 Presidential campaign, said he would take another look at that treaty. It needed to be reexamined.

Perhaps he did take a subsequent look, down to the left and far away, as he was flying toward Hawaii on one of his vacations.

NAFTA. From The Guardian, 4 Jan. 2014, “NAFTA: 20 years of regret for Mexico,” by Mark Weisbrot:

“The most basic measure of economic progress, especially for a developing country like Mexico, is the growth of income (or GDP) per person. Out of 20 Latin American countries…Mexico ranks 18, with growth of less than 1% annually since 1994 [when NAFTA went into effect].

CLG Exclusive: CIA Torture Queen Bought $825K House While Torturing Her Way to the Top

The redacted (525 of 6,700 pages) C.I.A. torture report has revealed possible war crimes and violations of the Nuremberg ban on human experimentation by C.I.A. agents and U.S. military contractors. On December 19, 2014, journalists Glenn Greenwald and Peter Maass revealed the name of the C.I.A. senior officer at the center of the C.I.A.'s torture scandals: Alfreda Frances Bikowsky.

Now, CLG can report that Alfreda Bikowsky purchased (and likely still lives in) a well-appointed ranch house in Mclean, Virginia. Nestled in a wooded lot at 1437 Brookhaven Drive, the well-concealed house is a short 19-minute, 12-mile commute to the Central Intelligence Agency in Reston, Virginia. Formerly owned by Michael E. Geltner, the property was sold to Bikowsky for a mere $825,000 by realtor Michael Chang in April of 2012.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bikowsky was a senior staff member at the Bin Laden Issue Station in January 2000.[14] She was the direct supervisor of Michael Anne Casey, a CIA staff operations officer who was assigned to track future 9/11 hijacker Khalid al-Mihdhar at an al-Qaeda operatives' meeting in Malaysia in early January 2000.[8] Casey blocked a draft cable written by Doug Miller, a FBI agent detailed to the Bin Laden Issue Station, to the FBI warning that al-Mihdhar had a multiple-entry visa for travel to the U.S.[15][16](p240) Mark Rossini, another FBI agent first assigned to the Bin Laden Issue Station in 1999,[16](p233) testifies that Casey also verbally ordered him to not share information with FBI headquarters about al-Mihdhar or Nawaf al-Hazmi, who was traveling with al-Mihdhar.[1][17] Rossini further states that Bikowsky told congressional investigators in 2002 that she hand-delivered al-Mihdhar's visa information to FBI headquarters. This was later proven false by FBI log books.[1] The CIA shared some details about al-Mihdhar with the FBI at that time, but not that he had a valid visa to enter the U.S.[16](pp244–7)

Interrogation of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed

Bikowsky has been identified as "the redheaded former Soviet analyst who had been in the Bin Laden Unit during Michael Scheuer's supervision"[7](p273) in Jane Mayer's book, The Dark Side.[8] After Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was captured in March 2003, Mayer writes of Bikowsky:

Despite the CIA's insistence on the professionalism of its interrogation program, according to two well-informed Agency sources, one particularly overzealous female officer had to be reprimanded for her role. After Mohammed was captured, the woman, who headed the Al Qaeda unit in the CTC, was so excited she flew at government expense to the black site where Mohammed was held so that she could personally watch him being waterboarded. ... Coworkers said she had no legitimate reason to be present during Mohammed's interrogation. She was not an interrogator. "She thought it would be cool to be in the room," a former colleague said. Counsel confirms Hillary's 'fraudulent' Watergate brief

Details of Hillary Clinton’s firing from the House Judiciary Committee staff for unethical behavior as she helped prepare articles of impeachment against Richard Nixon have been confirmed by the panel’s chief Republican counsel.

Can Liberal Zionists Count On Hillary Clinton?

For Zemel and his faithfully Democratic congregation, that hope and anxiety has come to rest most squarely on Hillary Clinton. In August, many liberals were discouraged after reading a Clinton interview with Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic. All About That Wall Street Giveaway That Elizabeth Warren Hates

On Tuesday evening, lawmakers released the text of the massive spending bill that Congress must approve to avoid a government shutdown. Buried on page 615 of that 1,603-page piece of legislation is a provision entirely unrelated to government funding that a few lawmakers managed to sneak into the bill without any public debate during last-minute negotiations. It's a Wall Street giveaway—written by Citigroup—that would allow banks to engage in more types of risky trading with taxpayer-backed money.

Congress Passes Temporary Tax Breaks for Big Business Now for 15 Years Straight

Last week, the House voted to extend special interest tax breaks, most of which expired at the end of last year. The 55 provisions included in this year's package are the legacy of the Bush-era tax cuts that began in 2001. But 15 years later, these temporary tax break meant to stimulate a slowing economy have mutated into a slew of provisions that mostly help corporations avoid taxes. According to the bipartisan nonprofit Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, these tax extenders have sapped the U.S. government of $44 billion in lost revenue over the past decade. And while some provisions do help individuals in the middle and lower classes, like tuition credits and deductions for teachers buying school supplies, three-quarters of that lost revenue has gone to big businesses.

Banks Get OK to Use Taxpayer Money for Derivative Speculation

A good example of this is the House and Senate agreeing to raise the budgets for the Commodities Futures Trading Commission and Securities & Exchange Commission in exchange for quietly repealing the Lincoln Amendment to the Dodd Frank financial regulation law. The action looks like more money for tougher regulation, but eliminating the Lincoln Amendment means American banks are once again free to use taxpayer money to back-stop their speculative derivative trading.

5 Awful Things Congress Snuck Into the Omnibus Budget Deal

On Tuesday, Congressional leaders struck a deal to avert another government shutdown and put off our next completely avoidable, 100% self-imposed budget crisis until next September. And while most members of the least productive Congress in the history of these United States are already busy patting themselves on the back for summoning enough courage and can-do American spirit to actually govern for a day, the rest of us shouldn’t start celebrating just yet.

If you’re a Congressperson looking to sneak through something shady, the omnibus budget bill is the perfect opportunity since 1.) It’s 1600 pages long and very easy to hide things in, and 2.) Congress kind of has to pass it or the government shuts down. Again.

House narrowly approves spending bill, legislation heads to Senate

The House narrowly approved a sweeping spending bill Thursday night despite deep misgivings among liberals and conservatives alike, sending the measure to the Senate as lawmakers averted a partial government shutdown.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Misgivings." That is Congress' reaction to the provision in the bill that dump $300 trillion (with a 't') in derivatives exposure onto the taxpayers, and allow pension funds who have lost money to Wall Street's frauds to slash benefits to the retired workers that paid that money into the pension fund in the first place.

Indigenous Leader Tortured And Killed Days Before UN Testimony

For centuries, Indigenous people in various corners of the world have been thrown off of their property so their land and resources could be taken for aristocrats in far away lands. It was a war that began hundreds of years ago, and that war is still being waged today.

Just this week, it was announced that an indigenous leader from Ecuador was tortured and killed in the midst of a controversial fight against foreign mining companies who have unjustly taken land that has been claimed by indigenous people for centuries.

Pension plans to be looted nationwide as Congress okays institutional theft of funds

When societies approach collapse, coercion shifts to outright theft: Stealing money right out of your bank account, for example, like we recently witnessed in Cyprus. Government also routinely target pension funds and even private retirement accounts, attempting to keep itself afloat by any means necessary.

Just like clockwork, that looting of pension plans is now about to commence. "Congress could soon allow the benefits of current retirees to be cut as part of an agreement to address the fiscal distress confronting some of the nation's 1,400 multi-employer pension plans," writes Michael Fletcher of the Washington Post. [1] The Post continues:

"This proposal would devastate retirees and their surviving spouses," said Karen Friedman, executive vice president of the Pension Rights Center, a nonprofit group. "The proposal would also torpedo basic protections of the federal private pension law ... that states that once benefits are earned, they can't be cut back."

I have received many emails regarding the various articles I have written about the problems with the current economic system of being forced to borrow all currency at interest from a privately-owned central bank. Will Lawmakers Sneak a Gift to Wall Street into the Spending Bill?

Under cover of legislative chaos, lawmakers from both parties are working this week to preserve taxpayer-backing for some of Wall Street’s riskiest activities.

The deal taking shape would be slipped into the catch-all federal spending bill that is meant to finance the government in 2015, according to Capitol Hill sources who are not authorized to speak publicly. It would effectively repeal a plank of the Dodd-Frank financial reform law that would force big banks to conduct their most speculative derivatives trades in separately-capitalized subsidiaries, where they would be ineligible for federal deposit insurance, Federal Reserve assistance or other taxpayer-provided support.

The point of the law is to end the “heads I win, tails you lose,” game on Wall Street, in which the biggest banks keep the lavish winnings from their bets while pushing catastrophic losses onto the public, as happened in the financial crisis.

US meddling to blame for ‘all Arab world sufferings’ – Sudan president

In his interview with RT’s Arabic Channel, the Sudanese president labeled Washington’s policies in Middle East and North Africa as “harmful and destructive.”

“Just look at what’s now happening in Iraq and how it spread to Syria. All the suffering that is going in the Arab world is the work of the US,” he said.

Obama Administration Double-Counted Healthcare Enrollees to Meet Goal

With so much riding on the success of the Affordable Care Act, officials in the Obama administration felt it necessary to inflate the number of Americans who had signed up for health insurance.

They tried pulling off this statistical sleight of hand by combining the number of people who had purchased dental coverage on the healthcare exchanges with those buying health insurance.

Somehow, the officials didn’t think anyone would notice … despite the fact they had previously reported the dental and medical totals separately.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which oversees CMS, had to backtrack and admit that officials “erroneously” folded sign-ups for the two different plans together. “A mistake was made,” a spokesperson for HHS said in a statement, adding that, in fact, 6.7 million Americans had purchased medical coverage as of October 15.
