12 Days Before ’08 Crash, Congress Was Secretly Told to Sell off Their Stocks

Earlier this month, it was reported that less than two weeks before the economic collapse of 2008, several members of Congress took their money out of the stock market. Many high-ranking government employees were given a heads-up about the impending market crash in secret meetings with the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department. Then they used that information to engage in insider trading.

It was revealed that Senator Shelley Capito and her husband sold $350,000 worth of Citigroup stock at $83 per share, just one day before the stock dropped to $64 per share. Another shady trader was Congressman Jim Moran, who had his biggest trading day of the year days after the secret meeting, sellings stock in nearly 100 different companies.

These actions would be illegal for any American in any other circumstance, but members of Congress and high-ranking government officials are actually exempt from insider trading laws.

Ex-French president Nicolas Sarkozy's mobile phones are seized and examined by judges probing £35m cocaine smuggling ring

A judge ordered two mobile phones belonging to Nicolas Sarkozy to be examined in relation to a £35million cocaine smuggling scandal, it has been revealed today.

The former French president’s name appears in court papers about an attempt to fly 680kg of the drug out of the Dominican Republic.

Two French pilots involved in the case dubbed ‘Air Cocaine’ made a ‘James Bond-style’ escape from the country last week, leading to accusations that politicians in their own country were involved in setting them free.

If Congress Won't Scrap the Espionage Act, Maybe the Supreme Court Will

Chelsea Manning’s attorneys are gearing up for a long and hard appeal of the former soldier’s espionage convictions. It’s not going to be easy: The Supreme Court has had several opportunities in the past to rule the Espionage Act unconstitutionally broad (which it is), but has not done so. Let’s hope the Court has come to its senses. It’s time for the Espionage Act to go.

Prominent Ukrainian Jewish politician arrested in security raid

A prominent Ukrainian Jewish politician linked to tycoon Ihor Kolomoisky was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of running an organized crime organization.

Hennadiy Korban, who served under Kolomoisky as deputy governor of the Dnepropetrovsk region until earlier this year and currently heads the UKROP political party, was detained during a massive raid by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) that also targeted the Kolomoisky-linked Fund for the Defense of the Country and the office of Kolomoisky confidant and legislator Boris Filatov.

Korban is a member of the board of trustees of the Dnepropetrovsk Jewish community.

When Winston Churchill made his remark about democracy being the worst form of government except for all the others that have been tried, the positive side of what he was saying about democracy had as background the Westminster system with which he was familiar and that has served Britain fairly well.

Finally! Studies Prove That Unvaccinated Children Are Far Healthier

A study from the 1990s has come to light, proving that compared to unvaccinated children, vaccinated children were more likely to suffer from asthma, eczema, ear infections, hyperactivity and many other chronic conditions.

Furthermore, the study identified that there was a ten-fold increase in the incidence of tonsillitis in the children who were vaccinated, and a total lack tonsillectomy operations among the children who were unvaccinated.

In 1992, the Immunization Awareness Society (IAS) conducted a survey to examine the health of New Zealand’s children. Unsurprisingly, the results of their study indicated that unvaccinated children were far healthier than vaccinated children.

Russian Air Force,Syrian Opposition Reach Agreement On Joint Action Against Terrorists!

Pure Genius!

"In the framework of a broader international coalition on the fight against terrorism in the Middle East, we have established contacts with leaders and field commanders of several opposition units. These patriotic groups which, despite fighting government forces for four years, hold the idea of preserving Syria as a united sovereign state, free from ISIL and other terrorists of all sorts, higher than their political ambitions. We hope that this step will become a turning point in the resolution of the Syrian conflict.

"Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian opposition have reached an agreement on joint action against terrorists, he said.

According to Kartapolov, the Russian air group deployed in Syria has already coordinated joint anti-terrorism efforts with the Syrian opposition by establishing reliable data exchange channels.

TransCanada Asks US to Suspend Keystone Pipeline Application

The company sponsoring the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline Monday asked the State Department to suspend the review of its federal permit application, a request that could push a final decision on the pipeline beyond President Obama’s tenure in office.

The administration is preparing to reject a cross-border permit for the project aimed at transporting hundreds of thousands of barrels of heavy crude oil from Canada’s oil sands region to Gulf Coast refineries, according to several individuals who have been briefed but spoke on the condition of anonymity because the White House’s decision has not been announced. In asking for a delay, TransCanada could hand the issue, which has come to symbolize the broader battle over how the United States should address climate change, to the next U.S. president.

Republicans trust Trump on economy, nuclear weapons: Reuters/Ipsos poll

Donald Trump is the Republican candidate most trusted to manage the economy, deal with foreign leaders and serve as commander in chief, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll of Republicans conducted after the party's third debate.

And more Republicans would trust him with the nation’s nuclear weapons than most of the rest of their party's presidential primary field.

Fact checkers confirm Ben Carson hasn’t made one true statement since his campaign began

Ben Carson got caught in a rather strange lie during the third republican debate when he claimed that he had no relationship with a supplement-scam company called Mannatech, despite video evidence showing him shilling for the product and claiming it magically cured his own cancer, and a financial connection to the company going back a decade. Not surprisingly, non-partisan fact checking outfit PolitiFact has rated his statement as “False.” But a deeper look at Carson’s record reveals that the site has concluded he hasn’t made a true substantive statement since his campaign began.

REVEALED: US GOVERNMENT PROGRAM SECRETLY INJECTED CITIZENS WITH PLUTONIUM, URANIUM

It sounds like a bizarre torture scenario that you’d expect to see blamed on illegal terror organizations, but the individuals behind this crime are actually doctors working for the United States government. Disregarding the health of innocent citizens, the government testers were eager to see how unknowing participants suffered as a result of secret plutonium injection. It began in 1945, when an employee at the Oak Ridge Nuclear Facility was in a car accident. Ebb Cade survived, but was taken in as a human participant in a disturbing study he did not consent to. It is important to note that this man was a fifty-three-year-old African American, as previous government trials have singled out African Americans and other minorities.

A Hillary Clinton Presidency Would be a Disaster, A Nightmare for Americans

A Clinton presidency would be nightmarish for the vast majority of Americans and world peace. It’ll combine the worst of George Bush and Obama, an agenda of endless wars of aggression, maybe targeting Russia, China, and/or Iran, corporate favoritism, destroying social justice, and full-blown tyranny against resisters.

Doug Henwood is editor and publisher of the Left Business Observer. It covers “economics and politics in the broadest sense,” discussing what everyone needs to know, suppressed in mainstream reporting.

In November 2014, his Harper’s article headlined “Stop Hillary! Vote no to a Clinton dynasty.” It bears repeating. A second Clinton presidency is the worst of all deplorable choices.

Her qualifications “boil down to this,” says Henwood.

“She has experience, she’s a woman, and it’s her turn. It’s hard to find any substantive political argument in her favor.”

BEX ALERT - Horror at 30,000ft and how Putin's playing a ruthless game in the Middle East that should terrify the West

Vladimir Putin’s Syrian soap opera has filled Russian television screens for weeks. The sight of sophisticated missiles smashing into terrorist hide-outs has sent the Russian leader’s popularity soaring to previously unseen heights.

Now, reality is intruding. The crash of Flight 7K9268 — with an onboard bomb planted by supporters of the so-called Islamic State as the most likely cause — highlights the potential cost of Russia’s interference in the Middle Eastern powder-keg.

HP CEO Says That Carly Fiorina Is Not Qualified To Be President

Current Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman doesn’t think former HP CEO Carly Fiorina is qualified to be president because the Republican contender has no political experience.

“I just think literally having some experience in politics is probably an important criteria for the highest office in the land,” Whitman told CNN over the weekend. “I think it's very difficult for your first role in politics to be president of the United States. I think having experience in the Senate or as the governor of a state is really important. It’s just hard to be dropped down in Washington, D.C. never having experience in politics before.”

Indeed, only five U.S. presidents have landed the job without prior electoral experience -- Ulysses Grant, Zachary Taylor, William Taft, Herbert Hoover and Dwight Eisenhower.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wish I really had a candidate for 2016 who I could get behind and for whom I could canvas, with a clear heart and conscience.

The last time that happened was with Dr. Ron Paul's candidacy for President; and of course, we all remember just how well the Republicans allowed that candidacy to move forward (as in threw the guy under the proverbial bus)

Clinton Foundation spinoff won’t refile tax returns

An organization spun off from the Clinton Foundation has no plans to refile its tax returns due to mistakes in prior years, an official said, contradicting a highly publicized news report earlier this year.

A series of articles published as Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign kicked off this spring noted that the Clinton Health Access Initiative, set up in 2002 as the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative and spun off from the foundation in 2010, had not fully complied with aspects of a conflict-of-interest agreement negotiated before the former first lady and senator became secretary of state in 2009. The HIV program did not seek a State Department ethics review of several donations from foreign governments, including Switzerland, Rwanda, Sweden, Papua New Guinea and the Belgian region of Flanders, officials said, while acknowledging that the initiative also failed to publicly report its donors at all after the spin-off.

Anger & Fear: The Way They Keep You Pointlessly Voting for President (Like Anything Will Ever Change)

Political strategists know if they push your buttons, they can get you to keep mindlessly, pointlessly voting… even though it won’t change a damn thing.

Political strategists (and the people running the show) know it works even though, deep down, most voters in this country have long ago realized somewhere inside that voting, at least in the federal elections, has all of about zero effect on actually changing anything and is basically a meaningless gesture that simply solidifies one’s willing participation in a slave system.

Political strategists have figured out how to keep people mindlessly, pointlessly voting anyway.

Here’s a direct quote from one:

Pick your boogeyman: undocumented immigrants or Wall Street bankers.

Let’s stick with the immigrants, she thinks. Just link the border to the national angst and tell everybody that migrants and the idiots who let them in killed the American Dream.

Previous investigations have shown similar situations elsewhere in Texas, including in El Paso.

MOST EVERYTHING THE FEDS TOLD US ABOUT STINGRAYS IS FALSE – IT’S MUCH WORSE

It has gotten so bad that a bill was just introduced in Congress that would criminalize the use of stingrays without a warrant, at all levels of government. A stingray is a suitcase-sized device that mimics a cell phone tower, which allows it to gather locations and data of all nearby mobile phones. This violation of constitutional rights is usually justified under the “war on terror” meme, although government is finding increasingly diverse uses. Last week, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified before a Senate committee that his agency had indeed used stingrays in tax-related crimina

Refugee crisis requires EU-wide approach: Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has called for a pan-European approach to address the current refugee crisis in the continent, demanding a fair way of distributing asylum seekers between EU member states.

"In Germany, we must do what we can, no question about it. But we must not think small on this issue. Otherwise, Europe will once again be in great danger… we need a European-wide approach,” Merkel said in a speech at a reception of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) in the capital city of Berlin on Tuesday.

She also noted that no country could take in all asylum seekers, stressing the need for a “fair distribution of refugees across Europe."

BEX Alert!!! - "Al-Qaeda calls for lone wolf attacks on West"

Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has called for lone wolf attacks against Western countries, in particular America, and praised recent Palestinian attacks against Israelis.

Zawahiri spoke in a video released on Twitter and published and translated Monday by US-based SITE, which monitors violent extremist websites.

SITE noted that the video was broadcast on Twitter, on Sunday, rather than on extremist websites as is usually the case.

"The first matter is striking the West and specifically America in its own home, and attacking their interests that are spread everywhere," Zawahiri said, according to SITE.

"The supporters of Israel must pay with their blood and their economy."

As examples of lone wolf attacks, he cited the 2013 Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan and Dzokhar Tsarnaev. Their attack with pressure cooker bombs killed three people and wounded 264.

A NEW BIOGRAPHY TRACES THE PATHOLOGY OF ALLEN DULLES AND HIS APPALLING CABAL

In 1976, after the Watergate matters took place here, your intelligence community was literally tied up by Congress. It could not do anything. It could not send spies, it could not write reports, and it could not pay money. In order to compensate for that, a group of countries got together in the hope of fighting communism and established what was called the Safari Club. The Safari Club included France, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Iran … so, the Kingdom, with these countries, helped in some way, I believe, to keep the world safe when the United States was not able to do that. That, I think, is a secret that many of you don’t know.

Arizona's Reefer Mad Bill Montgomery Calls Vietnam Vet An Enemy of The State

Bill Montgomery is a dying breed, the rabid reefer mad prohibitionist.

Following the first night of the show, I got to meet a spry older gentleman with a perma-grin on his face who sort of reminded me of Don Ameche from the movie “Cocoon”. “You know,” another person confided, “that’s the ‘enemy of the state’.”

“Who, Don?” I asked, pointing at the happy silver-haired senior.

When Don said he was also a recreational marijuana consumer, Montgomery said, “Well, then you’re violating the law, and I have no respect for you. And I have no respect for someone who would try to claim that you served this country and took an oath to uphold the constitution and defend against all enemies foreign and domestic, because you’re an enemy.”
