Burundi Court Validates President's Third Term Bid Amid Protests

Burundi's Constitutional Court on Tuesday validated the president's controversial bid for a third term but the deputy president of the court, who fled to Rwanda ahead of the ruling, called it unconstitutional.

The ruling came amid prolonged demonstrations against President Pierre Nkurunziza's decision to seek a third term. At least nine people have been killed in violent confrontations with the police since last week, according to the Burundi Red Cross. Scores have been wounded.

Burundi's constitution says the president is elected by universal direct suffrage for a mandate of five years, renewable one time.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This may well lead to a civil war in the country, if people do not feel that their concerns and needs are not addressed.

Rand Paul's Laughable 'Blogger Action Network': Zionist, Pro-Israel, Pro-Netanyahu, scared of Iran & Muslim Extremism

Rand's latest approved blogger warns ""Radical Islam is a threat to our way of life. We need to understand the world from its perspective to combat it." Rand's other blogger ironically has a front-page story supporting Ted Cruz for president, and stresses "what an important ally Israel is to the USA." If this is the best Randy can do, his laughable (albeit entertaining) campaign is in deep trouble. RandPaulZionist.com has the latest.

Donetsk Republic Nationalizes Banks, Draws Ire Of NATO and World Banking Cartel

By Brandon Turbeville

In a tiny corner of Eastern Europe, a fledgling Republic struggling with the day-to-day hurdles of warfare and shaky ceasefires, has succeeded in doing what has long been overdue in the most powerful nation on the face of the earth – it has nationalized its out-of-control banks and put them to use for the good of the people...

The passion of a pumped prime minister – or the delusions of Dave?

Bloody Pumped Dave’s fantasies then became even wilder. “This election is between two teams,” he said, windmilling his arms to pumped-up pumpedness. Aston Villa or West Ham, presumably. “Do you want a home secretary who told Abu Hamza to sling his hook?” Casual racism and gags about disability are also unfortunate side effects of being bloody pumped.

“Do you know what makes me so mad?” he shouted, hitting a near-ecstatic crescendo. “I hate the way Labour supported the banks and gave knighthoods to bankers.” Dave was so bloody pumped he had forgotten that most of his best friends – and donors – were bankers. But the pumped up pheromones were having some effect on the audience, as a woman fainted and had to be carried out.

Did Dave stop or even notice? Hell, no. When you’re this bloody pumped you’re in the zone. Not a zone, though, that allows for any questions from either the audience or media.

The U.S. Bill of Rights Rewritten to Match Reality

Scott Walker Says He Would Crush What’s Left Of Unions If Elected President

Though he has yet to officially declare his bid for president, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is frequenting early primary states and hinting at what he would do if elected to the White House. In a recent interview with Radio Iowa, Walker said he would champion a federal version of the controversial ‘right-to-work’ law he signed earlier this year.

“As much as I think the federal government should get out of most of what it’s in right now, I think establishing fundamental freedoms for the American people is a legitimate thing and that would be something that would provide that opportunity in the other half of America to people who don’t have those opportunities today,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Baltimore Received $1.8 Billion from Obama’s Stimulus Law

The city of Baltimore received over $1.8 billion from President Barack Obama’s stimulus law, including $467.1 million to invest in education and $26.5 million for crime prevention.

President Obama claimed last Tuesday that if the Republican-controlled Congress would implement his policies to make “massive investments in urban communities,” they could “make a difference right now” in the city, currently in upheaval following the death of Freddie Gray.

However, a Washington Free Beacon analysis found that the Obama administration and Democratically-controlled Congress did make a “massive” investment into Baltimore, appropriating $1,831,768,487 though the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), commonly known as the stimulus.

Why the Latest Protest Against Police Brutality Is Happening in Israel

Scores are hurt in weekend protests in Tel Aviv as Ethiopian Israelis rally against what they say is long-running racism

TIME: Masses of protesters gathering in the streets, some throwing rocks and bottles at the police. In full riot gear, the police respond in force, shooting tear-gas canisters, percussion bombs and water guns. By the end of the evening, 46 injured people are sent to area hospitals.

Scenes of violent protest are something that people in Israel are used to seeing periodically, though it is usually in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This time, though, the rage involves youth Israelis of Ethiopian descent who are angry at their own government.

Lieberman: Billions given to Haredi parties only perpetuate poverty

After announcing he would not join Netanyahu's coalition, outgoing FM says he 'does not care' whether narrow government will last full term.

A day after announcing that he would not be joining the new government. Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Lieberman lashed out at the coalition agreement Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has brokered with the religious parties, saying he is pouring billions of shekels in a system that does nothing to address the poverty in the sector.

"There were narrow governments in the past. Is it feasible to be able to run the country and function in such a formation? I don't know and don't care."

Lieberman's announcement was perceived as a significant setback for Netanyahu, who is struggling to put together a wide coalition ahead of a looming deadline.

Egg thrown at David Cameron as protestors greet Prime Minister's campaign visit to Bath

While the protest appears to have been peaceful, with placards waved and chants made, at least one egg was thrown at the Prime Minister.

The protestors included supporters of the Green and Labour parties.

The Green Party's candidate for Bath, Dominic Tristram, was among the protestors. He said: "I was proud to be part of the demonstration outside David Cameron's 'secret' rally today, along with our NE Somerset candidate Katy Boyce.

"While the Conservatives are staging events closed to all but a carefully vetted audience, a large number of which came from outside Bath, the protesters were holding him to account over his ideological attack on the welfare state and destruction of our NHS."

Secrecy Over TPP Fuels Growing Opposition in Congress

The back-room push for the corporate-friendly Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade pact may be backfiring on its supporters, as more and more lawmakers in U.S. Congress drop their interest in the deal over its extreme secrecy.

Only members of the House and Senate are currently allowed to view the text of the deal, and even they are forbidden from discussing what it contains. As a new report from Politico published Monday details, "If you’re a member who wants to read the text, you’ve got to go to a room in the basement of the Capitol Visitor Center and be handed it one section at a time, watched over as you read, and forced to hand over any notes you make before leaving."

Suit filed against Put-in-Bay, police chief, officers

The recently filed suit states that it “relates to but a few of a long line of arbitrary and abusive behaviors” by the Put-in-Bay Police Department.

The individual plaintiffs are Lisa Cooper, of Put-in-Bay; Eric Haines, of Stow, Ohio; and Rikki Singstock, of Southgate, Mich, who were arrested by Put-in-Bay police in 2013. Police responded to a confrontation and arrested the three on a variety of charges. Ms. Singstock’s case was dismissed.

Ms. Cooper charged with obstructing official business, and Mr. Haines charged with theft and unlawful restraint, were found not guilty by a jury in October.

The new suit describes the arrests as “unlawful” and “unjustified” and seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.

POLICE REPORT PART I: BADGE ABUSE

April 2015 was a tumultuous month for policing in “The Land of the Free”. From traffic stop confessions of ticket-writing “expectations” to men being beaten by uniformed officers for sadistic pleasure to a shackled city rupturing in violent riots, the past month has been a horrific case study on the state of police in the United States. This Police Report documents the most egregious cases of police brutality, wrongful deaths, extortion via court fines and surveillance tactics used by local law enforcement. We also explore the perspective from behind the body camera, speaking to a former police chief and current city manager who implemented body cameras in his city two years ago. The unprecedented national attention paid this month to the issue of police brutality will prove historic as citizens take power over the police narrative through camera lenses. This is the April 2015 Police Report.

Baltimore as a Microcosm of America

In these drug-saturated neighborhoods, they weren’t policing their post anymore, they weren’t policing real estate that they were protecting from crime. They weren’t nurturing informants, or learning how to properly investigate anything. There’s a real skill set to good police work. But no, they were just dragging the sidewalks, hunting stats, and these inner-city neighborhoods — which were indeed drug-saturated because that’s the only industry left — become just hunting grounds. They weren’t protecting anything. They weren’t serving anyone. They were collecting bodies, treating corner folk and citizens alike as an Israeli patrol would treat Gaza, or as the Afrikaners would have treated Soweto back in the day. They’re an army of occupation. And once it’s that, then everybody’s the enemy. The police aren’t looking to make friends, or informants, or learning how to write clean warrants or how to testify in court without perjuring themselves unnecessarily.

Webmaster's Commentary:

For the public to trust the system, punishment must be seen to be inflicted on the guilty and only on the guilty. When the public sees punishment inflicted at random in the innocent while politically connected guilty go free, the public soon understands that the police are not about justice or law enforcement but merely a tool of oppression by the haves against the have-nots.

Congressional Bill Seeks End to Congressional Gerrymandering

Today Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives introduced The Redistricting Reform Act of 2015 to end the gerrymandering of congressional districts by requiring that they be drawn by an unbiased citizen commission. In most states, redistricting creates a clear conflict of interest that allow the foxes to guard the henhouse. Members of the state legislature manipulate congressional maps behind closed doors for partisan advantage, incumbent protection, and sometimes even to create a district for themselves.

Scientist who attacked Dr. Oz received money from junk food, biotech and vaccine companies

One of the primary physicians who signed a recent letter attacking Dr. Mehmet Oz, host of a popular daytime medical program on television, and seeking his removal from the faculty of Columbia University is also a convicted criminal who once lost his medical license for Medicaid fraud.

Dr. Gilbert Ross, executive director of the American Council on Science and Health, had his medical license revoked in 1995 for professional misconduct. He was sentenced to 46 months in prison and ordered to forfeit $40,000 and pay restitution in the amount of $612,855 (which was later reduced to $85,137) for his part in a scheme to defraud New York's Medicaid program.
