Washington Yanks British Bulldog into Line

In a brazen show of bringing-to-heel in their «special relationship», American political and Pentagon chiefs are openly rebuking the British government to maintain its huge military spend on the NATO alliance – to the possible detriment of already withering public services in austerity-clobbered Britain. The imposition by Washington raises serious questions about the nature of democracy in Britain – the self-proclaimed «Mother of all Parliaments».

Who’s Afraid of an Open Debate? The Truth About the Commission on Presidential Debates

The Commission on Presidential Debates is a private corporation headed by the former chairmen of the Republican and Democratic parties. The CPD is a duopoly which allows the major party candidates to draft secret agreements about debate arrangements including moderators, debate format and even participants. The result is a travesty riddled with sterile, non-contentious arguments which consistently exclude alternative voices that Americans want to hear.

Report from protests against Netanyahu: 'Public opinion about Israel is changing irreversibly'

Outside, in the streets surrounding the U.S. Congress, a strong, spirited crowd of demonstrators denounced Benjamin Netanyahu for committing war crimes against the Palestinian people and for attempting to whip up a war fever against Iran. We were met by police lines and cops who grabbed and shoved people as they attempted to exercise their Constitutional right to protest at Congress.

Inside, from within the hallowed halls, Netanyahu was given a boisterous two-minute-long standing ovation by the millionaire politicians in Congress.

The irony of what happened today speaks volumes about the nature of democracy in this country.

Netanyahu Threatens War In Speech to Congress

This was a speech threatening war.

Realizing he has insufficient clout to stop the negotiations, Netanyahu demanded a back-up position: If not "no" deal, then we can have a better deal.

His vision of a "better" deal, however, is grounded in Iranian surrender. And since that is not going to happen, demanding it means abandoning diplomacy in favor of—yes, war.

First, I find this complete and utter disregard for U.S. Government Protocol an outrage if not out and out "Treason, High Crimes and Misdemeanors" by the organizers of this criminal farce.

Second, as a US Citizen with single citizenship, I find it equally outrageous that Israel, who has an undeclared nuclear, biological and chemical weapons arsenal with advanced delivery systems and has NEVER signed the Nuclear Non--Proliferation Treaty (NPT) continues to get BILLIONS of dollars of US Foreign Aid in direct violation of the Symington and Glen Acts . . especially when we have children, Elderly and Military Vets sleeping on the streets in this country.

Dishonest White House Response to Warren's Attack on Secret Panels in Trade Deals

Elizabeth Warren is clearly getting on the Administration’s nerves.

The Massachusetts senator has come out forcefully against the misleadingly named trade deals, the TransPacific Partnership and its ugly sister, the TransAtlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. Mind you, these treaties are not about trade. Trade is already substantially liberalized and in keeping, only five of the 29 chapters of the TransPacific Partnership deal with tariffs.

Netanyahu’s Big Gamble

In pursuing the strategy of preserving the perception of the Iranian threat in order to maintain the special relationship with the United States, Netanyahu is pursuing strategies that sabotage America’s own foreign policy interests...

By going over President Obama’s head to Congress, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is taking a big gamble, apparently hoping that he can block any U.S. rapprochement with Iran and heighten tensions in the Middle East, a strategy that lacks both facts and logic, says Ted Snider.

Floridians, Help Us Stop Your State From Outlawing Anonymous Websites

Mitch Stoltz
Activist Post

Floridians, we need your help to stop a dangerous anti-anonymity bill. This week, the Florida state legislature is considering a bill that would make it illegal to run any website or service anonymously, if the site fits a vague category of “disseminat[ing]” “commercial” recordings or videos—even the site owner’s own work. Outlawing anonymous speech raises a serious First Amendment problem, and laws like this one have been abused by police and the entertainment industry.

The bill, which is moving through Florida House and Senate committees this week, requires anyone who operates a website or Internet service to “disclose his or her true and correct name, physical address, and telephone number or e-mail address.” It would apply to any website or service “dealing in substantial part in the electronic dissemination of commercial recordings or audiovisual works, directly or indirectly,” to Florida consumers.

Government Can’t Fire Employees Who Spend Six Hours a Day Watching Porn

The red tape involved in firing federal employees is so bad that the government hasn’t even been able to fire employees who were caught watching up to six hours a day of porn at work.

A recent report from CBS News finds that government employee unions and civil service rules make it almost impossible to fire employees, and it’s costing the taxpayer big bucks.

In one instance, CBS found an employee who had 7,000 pornographic files on his office computer and was tracked sometimes spending up to six hours a day watching porn at work. But this employee is still being paid as his years-long appeals process continues.

The U.S. Constitution Actually Bans Hillary’s Foreign Government Payola

The Washington Post reported last week that the tax-exempt foundation run by Bill and Hillary Clinton accepted money from seven foreign governments while Hillary served as U.S. Secretary of State (it’s unclear how much foreign money the organization accepted while Hillary was a U.S. Senator). Super shady, right? It’s worse than that, though, because Article I, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution actually bans foreign payola for U.S. officials.

The constitutional ban on foreign cash payments to U.S. officials is known as the Emoluments Clause and originated from Article VI of the Articles of Confederation. The purpose of the clause was to prevent foreign governments from buying influence in the U.S. by paying off U.S. government officials.

Hannity Calls Obama ‘Neville Chamberlain’ And Netanyahu ‘Winston Churchill’

“Great American” Sean Hannity didn’t just side with Israel over his own country as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has figuratively spit in President Obama's face. No, Hannity went out of his way to demonize Obama in every possible way he could work into a nearly 10-minute segment.

It’s very touching to see Hannity’s sudden concern for Jews when you consider how he has previously palled around with the most vile of anti-Semites. But when there’s a contest between Hannity’s bigotry and his lust for conservative power – and maybe a new war for other people to shed blood in – well, it’s no contest.

But that doesn’t mean Hannity is above using his bigotry against President Obama. Hannity had at the ready a montage of Obama making such statements as, “The United States is not and will never be at war with Islam” as a blatant suggestion that Obama is too pro-Islam to love Israel.

Investigate Whether Hillary Clinton Violated Federal Regulations By Using Personal Email

Hillary Clinton would have used a personal email account to conduct government business as secretary of state, which could constitute a violation of Federal Records Act.

As revealed by The New York Times, during the four years he spent as Secretary of State Clinton never used an official email address, so that all government affairs apparently drove from his personal account.

Other senior government officials, including President Barack Obama and Hillary’s successor, John Kerry, have used government accounts for official business.

Totalitarian Rule in America: False Flags, Secret Prisons, Extrajudicial Assassinations, Media Censorship, The Rounding Up of Alleged “Terrorists”…

Every day signs are looming larger than life as we know it in the wealthiest nation on earth that it’s about to crash and burn, forever changing not for the better. The latest wake-up call arrived in a Guardian article earlier this week. The story features a secret prison not unlike the CIA torture detention centers all over the world whereby the Chicago police hold rounded up US citizens for hours or days at a time for interrogation. The same internationally illegal roundups of suspected “potential terrorists” (which by latest Gestapo America standards can easily be you or me) that the CIA and military black ops deploy globally, are being covertly conducted not only in Obama’s hometown where his thug buddy Rahm rules, but likely every US city and soon coming to a neighborhood near you.

The Catastrophe Bibi Is Courting

So Bibi Netanyahu did not back down, and he’s here now in the United States, and he’s giving the speech Tuesday. In doing so, he has forced a true low point in U.S.-Israel relations. As has been often observed, he’s turning Israel into a partisan issue—up to somewhere around a quarter of congressional Democrats are refusing to attend the speech. That’s a crack, a big one. If he remains prime minister after the March 17 elections, the fissures between Netanyahu’s government and Barack Obama and the Democrats will only widen.

Congressional support for Israel is due for a reconsideration. As Scott McConnell wrote last month in The American Conservative (an anti-neocon magazine), Congress “does not come close to representing the views of the American people” on Israel, either with respect to Iran or the occupation. McConnell cites all the requisite poll numbers that make the case.

Netanyahu Goes to Washington: An Act of Desperation By a Political Dinosaur

Today Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu will address a Republican Congress in a brazen attempt to win votes back home by derailing the White House’s ongoing diplomatic negotiations with Iran. How else can you describe it?

There is little point in waiting until after Netanyahu had addresses Congress today, because Bibi will be delivering the exact same, tired old recycled Iran speech that he’s been giving for the better part of the last decade. God forbid, if he’s still in office in 10 years, it’s a sure bet that he’ll be making the same speech then too, claiming that Iran is about the develop a nuclear weapon and that they must be stopped “before it’s too late.” Oh no, not that old chestnut.

Republicans Eagerly Await Netanyahu, Question Obama Israel Loyalty- Senator

US Republican lawmakers are ready to welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak before US Congress on Tuesday, but question whether US President Barack Obama’s truly supports Tel Aviv, US Senator John Barrasso said in a statement on Monday.

Protests against Israeli lobby in Washington

A group of activists staged a sit-in outside the Convention Centre in Washington DC on Sunday ahead of the Israeli PM’s speech at AIPAC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee). AIPAC, a pro-Israel lobby, draws over 16,000 people from around the world, including US lawmakers, foreign policy analysts, and Israeli diplomats to its annual conference. This year's conference runs from March 1 to 3.
