Your “Children Will Be Fined” If You Fail To Sign Up For Obamacare: People Are Going To Be In for A Shock

But, as is often the case when the government says one thing, they mean exactly the opposite. In this case, when they say incentive what they really mean is that you are going to be penalized if you fail to acquire government mandated health insurance. But not just you. Your children, who apparently no longer belong to you anyway based on a recent court ruling, will be fined for your failure to get them on the insurance rolls

Maui's GMO Ban Blocked By Federal Judge

A federal judge says Maui County may not implement a new law banning the cultivation of genetically modified organisms until he can consider arguments in a lawsuit against the measure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the GMO planters will just go on planting and by the time the judge finally hears the lawsuit it will be too late. Maui will be fully contaminated by these dangerous plants. The entire case against the ban is that the GMO companies will suffer harm. The exact same argument could be made about companies that dump toxic and nuclear waste; banning them from dumping their "product" onto Hawaii harms them financially. Does that mean we have to let them go on doing it?

Obamacare Facebook page comments mostly from small group of supporters

Americans began heading anew this weekend to President Obama’s official Obamacare Facebook page to gather information on the new round of health care enrollment, share their experiences shopping for insurance on the federal exchange and voice their opinions on the president’s signature domestic achievement.

However, what some would view as a robust marketplace of ideas is actually controlled by just a few, an analysis of the Web page shows.

Sixty percent of the site’s 226,838 comments generated from September 2012 to early last month can be attributed to fewer than 100 unique profiles, according to an analysis completed by The Washington Times with assistance from an outside data analytics team. Many of those profiles belong to just one person who created multiple aliases or personas to widen her influence and multiply her voice.

The NAFTA Connection: The Role of “Free” Trade in Mexico’s Tragic Travails

Mexico’s liberalization of trade and finance, with help from the world’s largest banks, has enabled drug traffickers and the corrupt political establishment.

Many in the police, the judiciary and even the military are intimidated, inadequately trained, and/or corrupt. The influence of drug money within all three major political parties is now taken for granted…

On a positive note, the problem of endemic political corruption in Mexico is now finally getting the attention it deserves, both inside and outside Mexico’s borders. However, corruption tells only part of Mexico’s tragic sage. There is another no less important, but generally ignored, factor in the rise to dominance of Mexico’s drug cartels: the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Meet the Warmongering Billionaires Who Will Spend a Fortune to Influence the Next President

Sheldon Adelson and Haim Saban, two billionaires with right-wing, pro-Israel agendas, took the stage at the Israeli American Council’s inaugural conference in Washington, D.C. They fantasized about bombing Iran and about buying the New York Times because they said it’s biased against Israel. Both are bound to play an outsized role in the 2016 presidential elections by flooding the campaign with money to support their favored candidates. In a post-Citizens United world, Adelson and Saban are kings, and Israel will be the beneficiary of their largesse if the donors have the ear of a future president.

“There’s no right or left when it comes to Israel,” Saban said in what news reports called a joking reference to the moguls’ seating positions at the conference where they spoke.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How does it make you feel, to understand, with absolutely painful clarity, that the next, strongest benefactor of the 2016 elections will be the country of Israel, no matter which candidate gets elected?!?

We the People have become useless, expendable, and irrelevant, when it comes to big money , fighting for an Israeli-centric government, no matter who gets chosen.

Glenn Greenwald On Hillary Clinton: "Soulless, Principle-Free, Power Hungry..."

Well Greenwald is back, and this time he outlines exactly who’s excited about Hillary’s forthcoming run for the Presidency. Here are some excerpts from the Intercept:

It’s easy to strike a pose of cynicism when contemplating Hillary Clinton’s inevitable (and terribly imminent) presidential campaign. As a drearily soulless, principle-free, power-hungry veteran of DC’s game of thrones, she’s about as banal of an American politician as it gets. One of the few unique aspects to her, perhaps the only one, is how the genuinely inspiring gender milestone of her election will (following the Obama model) be exploited to obscure her primary role as guardian of the status quo.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Under Clinton's watch, we can expect to see:

1. The complete, unhindered continuance of the Federal Reserve, which has been destroying the American economy over the many years it has been in business.

2. The continuance of these non-stop wars, ultimately for private profit.

3. The continuance of offshoring/outsourcing of jobs by major corporations, (which may pay handsomely for the privileges, through large donations), which used to be the foundation of a thriving middle class in this country.

4. A continuing downward spiral into poverty from people who have lost the good paying jobs, and subsist on part time jobs with little or no benefits.

5. A complete ignoring of Wall Street, when it fouls its own nest with blatant fraud.

6. A brain drain of the best and brightest, because pure science and research will no longer be supported.

7. The complete destruction of public education, and a dumbing down of our kids, so that they cannot do any critical thinking, let alone think for themselves, and will accept any governmental policy without question.

8. Even more draconian assaults to civil liberties and rights. (And by the way, according to the Constitution, a "Free Speech Zone", far away from any candidate, is totally and completely unconstitutional!!)

THIS is, logically, what to expect from a Hillary Clinton presidency: more of the same, but worse, just with another figurehead, symbolizing everything that has turned rotten in this country.

But the problem is, a Republican presidency will be no better.

At the end of the day, both parties are complete, total sell-outs to the large corporations which fund election campaigns, and have ultimately made We the People both irrelevant and expendable.

And this is something about which a lot of thinking people are deeply troubled.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel Accepted Campaign Contributions From Financial Firms Managing City Pension Money

Executives at investment firms that manage Chicago pension funds have since 2011 poured more than $600,000 in contributions into Mayor Rahm Emanuel's campaign operation and political action committees (PACs) that support him, according to documents reviewed by International Business Times. These contributions appear to flout federal rules banning companies that manage pension funds from financing the campaigns of officials with authority over pension systems, say legal experts.

The contributions also potentially conflict with an executive order Emanuel himself signed in 2011 prohibiting city contractors and subcontractors from making campaign donations to city officials.

SMOKING GUN! Gruber Admits Obama Was in Room During Planning of Cadillac Lie

June 13, 2012, Gruber interviews with Frontline and tells them that the Cadillac tax issue was addressed. Obama knew it was going to be a problem, and they all agreed to lie about it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This video is badly out of sync, so you might want to listen only, but the point is that EVERYONE in that room, the President included, simply decided that lying to the "stupid American voters" was their best course of action.

Nowhere in the Constitution is the government authorized to lie to you. The Tenth Amendment prohibits the government from assuming that right. Therefore, I hold that every time the government lies to you, whether about the Cadillac Tax, human-caused global warming, or Saddam's nuclear weapons, Torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin, USS Liberty being an accident, anything at all; that government is unconstitutional, illegal, and illegitimate. Clearly from these recent revelations, the people inside government think lying is acceptable domestic policy, because it gets them what they want; more money and obedience from you. They will never change their behavior. They have no reason to. They lie about everything. Indeed I think they are afraid to ever tell the truth even once, lest we learn to tell the difference!

It is up to We The People to create a situation in which lies by politicians cost far more than the benefits lies bring them. When we have the courage to grab the liars and toss them out of our public buildings hard enough to bounce on the pavement three times, followed by a thick coat of tar and feathers and a ride out of town on a redwood rail, politicians will discover that truth is a virtue. And they will not discover that one second before.

How Big Oil Plans to Win Ugly in New York

A PR firm well known for its hardball tactics in defense of Big Tobacco will deliver the keynote address at tonight’s Independent Oil and Gas Association of New York’s (IOGA-NY) annual conference in Buffalo. The same talk titled, “Big Green Radicals: Exposing Environmental Groups,” was presented at the Western Energy Alliance annual meeting in Colorado this summer. Richard Berman, president of the consulting firm Berman and Company, told the audience of oil and gas executives that they were engaged in “an endless war,” and warned that, “You can either win ugly or lose pretty.”

An anti-fracking rally in front of the New York State Assembly in Albany in 2013. Berman and Company’s strategy fails to recognize that long before celebrities were touring gas fields, local landowners, farmers, and activists had already started asking questions about the merits of fracking.

Is L.A. Backtracking on its Fracking Ban?

In February the City Council made headlines when it voted to take a first step toward a ban on fracking within Los Angeles municipal limits.

The body voted unanimously to have city staffers draft the fine print of a law that would outlaw hydraulic oil and gas extraction, a.k.a. fracking, on L.A. turf. Environmentalists say the process, which pushes pressurized liquid into rock formations to squeeze out fossil fuels, could contaminate drinking water supplies and even trigger earthquakes.

Instead of getting its ordinance, however, the council was recently given a report by the Department of City Planning. It says a fracking ban will not be that easy and suggests that more time is needed. At least one city leader is fuming.

Westside Councilman Mike Bonin told us he was "frustrated" that, nearly nine months later, the council still doesn't have a law to vote on:

Sheldon Adelson's Dismissal of Israeli Democracy Draws Silence From Groups He Backs

Recipients of casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson’s largesse are dodging questions about his latest salvo against Israeli democracy.

Adelson, a leading Republican donor, has long stood out among American Jews for his conservative views. He may have stepped farther outside of the American Jewish mainstream than ever before, however, in statements at a conference in Washington on November 9 in which he seemed to write off Israel as a democratic state.

“I don’t think the Bible says anything about democracy,” Adelson said. “[God] didn’t talk about Israel remaining as a democratic state… Israel isn’t going to be a democratic state — so what?”

While Anti-Defamation League national president Abraham Foxman has slammed Adelson’s remarks, leaders of groups that have taken money from Adelson have not responded to requests to address his statements.

Obamacare Designed as a Scam

A willfully designed scam. A rationing scheme boon to predatory providers.

Enriching insurers, drug companies and large hospital chains. At the expense of universal affordable coverage.

Market-based for maximum profits. Letting providers escalate prices. Regulatory light. Loopholes let profiteers game the system.

Benefitting at the expense of ripped-off consumers. Leaving millions uninsured. Most others way underinsured.

A healthcare disaster. Unaffordable for most people. Providing inadequate protection.

Forcing millions to pay 40% or more out-of-pocket. For co-pays and deductibles. On top of costly premiums. Rising annually.

Double the cost of other developed countries. During protracted Main Street Depression conditions.

Big Banks Busted Massively Manipulating Foreign Exchange, Precious Metals … And Every Other Market

Regulators fined six major banks including Citigroup (C.N) and UBS (UBSN.VX) a total of $4.3 billion for failing to stop traders from trying to manipulate the foreign exchange market, following a year-long global investigation.

HSBC (HSBA.L), Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS.L), JP Morgan (JPM.N) and Bank of America (BAC.N) also face penalties resulting from the inquiry that has put the largely unregulated $5 trillion-a-day market on a tighter leash, accelerated the push to automate trading and ensnared the Bank of England.

In the latest scandal to hit the financial services industry, dealers shared confidential information about client orders and coordinated trades to make money from a foreign exchange benchmark used by asset managers and corporate treasurers to value their holdings. Dozens of traders have been fired or suspended.

Fury over Mexico student ‘massacre’ boils over into street battles

Mexicans furious at the presumed massacre of 43 students torched the ruling party’s Guerrero state headquarters and briefly took a police commander prisoner on Tuesday as growing protests rocked President Enrique Pena Nieto’s government.

Riot police clashed with protesters in running street battles as black smoke billowed from the white two-story building of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in the southern state’s capital Chilpancingo.

Violent protests have erupted in Mexico since authorities said on Friday that the gang ‘hitmen’ confessed to murdering the students and incinerating their bodies after corrupt police handed over the 43 young men in September in Guerrero.
Some 1,000 people, led by students and the radical CETEG teachers union, marched in Chilpancingo before throwing stones and firebombs at police.

Three officers and two journalists, including a photographer working for AFP, were injured after being struck by rocks, said a civil protection official.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although as a Christian pacifist, I abhor violence, that does not mean that I do not understand how it happens, as a result of governmental corruption and torture.

The sad reality for Mexican citizens is that their government is owned by the cartels, period, end of discussion.

And what might end this would be a complete decriminalization of all drugs, in small amounts, for personal use.

The model in Portugal has been very encouraging in this direction.

As reported in huffingtonpost.com in July of this year, the World Health Organization calls for decriminalizing personal drug use:

The 159-page report, which focused primarily on HIV prevention and care worldwide, included a brief section discussing "good practice recommendations concerning decriminalization." In it, WHO offered the following recommendations: Countries should work toward developing policies and laws that decriminalize injection and other use of drugs and, thereby, reduce incarceration. Countries should work toward developing policies and laws that decriminalize the use of clean needles and syringes (and that permit NSPs [needle and syringe programs]) and that legalize OST [opioid substitution therapy] for people who are opioid-dependent.Countries should ban compulsory treatment for people who use and/or inject drugs. Actual decriminalization is not without precedent either. Some countries have begun to consider it for some or all illicit drugs. In 2001, Portugal did decriminalize all drugs and has seen a dramatic decline in drug abuse since.

But of course, such action would be logical.... and put the cartels out of business, with their money drying up, almost instantaneously.

Oligarchs for Israel

When Pat Buchanan described the American Congress as "Israeli-occupied territory" in the run up to the first Gulf war, he clearly underestimated the problem. Although Sheldon Adelson and Haim Saban didn’t mean to underscore and enlarge Buchanan’s point, this they surely did at the first national conference of a new pro-Israel lobbying group, the Israeli-American Council (IAC), where the two multi-billionaires appeared together on stage. It was an enlightening colloquy.

Adelson, whose casinos have made him one of the richest people in the world, pumped $150 million into the Republican Party in 2012, and is expected to give at least as much in the 2016 campaign. Saban who made his fortune on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has given a comparable amount to the Democrats, including the money to build Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington: he has pledged to donate "whatever it takes" to elect Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Lynch’s first job was as a litigation associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel in the mid-1980s. Their litigation department includes the legendary First Amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams, who defended the New York Times in the Pentagon Papers case (Abrams subsequently argued the Citizens United case, on “campaign money is speech” grounds). ObamaCare Architect Admits "Lack Of Transparency" Is Huge Advantage Against "Stupidity Of The American Voter"

An architect of the federal healthcare law said last year that a “lack of transparency” and the “stupidity of the American voter” helped Congress approve ObamaCare.

He suggested that many lawmakers and voters didn’t know what was in the law or how its financing worked, and that this helped it win approval.

“Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” Gruber said. “And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Enrollment fall far short of predictions, in part because the healthcare.gov website was a technical disaster, health care costs have gone up, as have the premiums AND deductibles on the approved insurance policies. Contrary to the claim that the ACA would lower health insurance costs, more Americans than ever before cannot afford health insurance and now have the IRS fining them for not being able to afford health insurance.

“Civility”: Israel Lobby’s New Weapon Against Free Speech on US Campuses

As I was driving through Indiana en route to Michigan this weekend, I saw this billboard for a local sheriff’s election campaign. There, above the uniformed police officer with his military-style crew cut, is the slogan “Return to Civility.”

It seemed the perfect metaphor for what “civility” has come to mean on US campuses: the forceful policing, at the behest of Israel lobby groups, of any discourse or activism critical of Israel.

In the wake of Israel’s latest Gaza massacre, the civility police are cracking down hard. Most notoriously, administrators and trustees at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have used the excuse of “civility” to fire Steven Salaita for his strong criticisms of, among other things, Israel’s slaughter of hundreds of children in Gaza.

But civility crackdowns are now breaking out across the country.

JPMorgan’s $9 Billion Witness Puts Government Testimony by Her Boss into Question

Two years after attorney Alayne Fleischmann was downsized out of her job as a Transaction Manager at JPMorgan Chase, her boss, William Buell, was hauled before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission (FCIC) for interrogation on just how culpable the bank was in packaging and selling toxic mortgage backed securities.

Buell is the same man that Fleischmann exposed in a Rolling Stone feature article by Matt Taibbi last week as the recipient of her detailed, internal letter in early 2007, warning him that the mortgage pools her group was reviewing contained poor quality mortgage loans unfit for purchase or securitization. Despite the written warning, Fleischmann would later learn that JPMorgan, in a drive to boost market share and profits, went forward and purchased the pool, securitized many of the loans, then sold them to unsuspecting investors.

You think you have the measure of the Gaboon Vipers of Zion. You probably know that all these so called philanthropists are not philanthropists, that George Soros is an epic serial killer; that most of these people giving away the stray nickels from their bottomless pockets are employers of torture squads, death squads and even cheerleader squads of PR whores that they dress up for whatever lies they want told. It don’t matter. If the money is right we can talk all night.

Nancy Pelosi to Democratic voters: Yes, it’s a ‘terrible year’ — but it’s your fault

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi reflected on the Election Day losses with fellow Democrats, saying that it really wasn’t the party’s messages or platforms to blame — rather, it’s more the voters’ fault, she suggested.

Specifically, Mrs. Pelosi said during a 75-minute call with caucus members that the reason Democrats lost had nothing to do with party message and everything to do with voter turnout — and that if more Democrats had turned up at the polls, more Democratic candidates would have won, she said, The Hill reported.

Why was Kobi Alexander Allowed to Flee?

The case of the Israeli criminal Kobi Alexander is like the proverbial "tip of the iceberg." While Alexander's crimes, through which he became immensely wealthy, are now evident, they are but a very small piece of a much larger Zionist criminal network – connected to the 9/11 terror attacks – which remains hidden beneath the surface.

Alexander, former head of the Israel-based Comverse Technology, was, until his crimes were discovered, one of the highest paid executives in the United States.

In the year 2000, for example, he reportedly earned some $102.5 million, with $93 million coming from the "exercise of options." We now know that most of Alexander's money was made through the fraudulent "exercise of options."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The prosecutor in New York who let Kobi slip away, then later arranged a cash-for-freedom deal, was Loretta Lynch, the presumptive incoming Attorney General!

JP Morgan Chase Whistleblower Reveals Bank and Fed Cover-Up of Fraud

Fleischmann was terminated from the company in the midst of a round of lay-offs in 2008. An investigator from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission contacted her in 2012, regarding her knowledge of the events that occurred during her time at JP Morgan Chase. While the investigators were interested in certain parts of her story, it was not until 2013 that she was able to relay her full knowledge. This included “the edict against e-mails, the sabotaging of the diligence process, the bullying, the written warnings that were ignored, all of it.”

However, rather than taking JP Morgan Chase to court, Rolling Stone noted that the government “decided to help Chase bury the evidence,” which began when a press conference to announce the civil-fraud charges against the bank, scheduled by Attorney General Eric Holder for September 24, 2013, was “suddenly canceled, and no complaint was filed.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Obamacare Goes Back on Trial: Supreme Court Agrees to Hear ACA Tax Subsidies Challenge

The U.S. Supreme Court agreed today to rule on the Obamacare case King v. Burwell, which asks whether the text of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act forbids the granting of tax credits to individuals who purchased insurance on health care exchanges operated by the federal government. The legal controversy arises from the fact that the text of the 2010 health care law limits such tax credits to individuals who purchased their insurance from an "exchange established by a State." Do those words cover the health care exchanges established by the federal government that are now operating in more than 30 states? We’ll soon find out.

FLASHBACK 2013 - The Israeli Criminals Behind the NSA Spy Scandal

Jacob "Kobi" Alexander The founder and former chairman of Verint is wanted by the FBI for a long list of crimes. He is veteran Israeli intelligence officer.
Jacob "Kobi" Alexander, the former head of Comverse, the parent company of Verint, is a wanted criminal who has fled U.S. justice to Africa and probably subsequently to Israel. It is important to note that Kobi Alexander and Comverse were closely connected to Odigo, the Israeli messaging system that was used to warn Israelis to stay away from the World Trade Center on 9-11.
Furthermore, the NSA has used Israeli encryption software from RSA Security, Inc. since 2006, which means that Israelis hold the encryption keys to the entire NSA computer network. The Israelis obviously have easy access to everything at the NSA.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, the guy our incoming Attorney General helped avoid jail for stock options fraud is also an Israeli spy!

FLASHBACK 2010 - Israeli fugitive to pay $54m to settle U.S. fraud suit

Jacob "Kobi" Alexander, the fugitive former chief executive of Comverse Technology Inc,
agreed to pay nearly $54 million to resolve civil litigation brought by the U.S. government over the backdating of stock options, court papers show.

The settlement also resolves a civil lawsuit by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. It was announced by U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch in the Eastern District of New York.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, our incoming Attorney General is as corrupt as the outgoing one. No surprise there. I guess. Wrist-slap for massive stock fraud, and of course not a mention that Comverse Infosys was at the heart of the Israeli spy ring uncovered by the FBI just prior to 9-11!

President Flim-Flam Leads Dems to Midterm Massacre

Tuesday’s electoral meltdown was just blowback from the many rank and file Dems who were either too mad to vote the party ticket or too distraught to even drag themselves to the polling booths. And therein lies the silver lining to this mess, which is that people are disillusioned, frightened and angry. They hate Wall Street, the media, the do-nothing Congress, and the sell-out-loser Democrats. They want change and they’re willing to move further to the right or left to get it.

That should be fertile ground for even the most fainthearted revolutionary. There’s no reason why the public’s frustration and can’t be channeled into more productive activity, like a general strike, a mass exodus from the two-party duopoly, or a thundering march on the Capital.

Why waste all that rage on whining and handwringing? The system is broken. Deal with it.

Organize. Grab a pitchfork. Do something!

The $9 Billion Witness: Meet JPMorgan Chase's Worst Nightmare

Fleischmann is the central witness in one of the biggest cases of white-collar crime in American history, possessing secrets that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon late last year paid $9 billion (not $13 billion as regularly reported – more on that later) to keep the public from hearing.

Back in 2006, as a deal manager at the gigantic bank, Fleischmann first witnessed, then tried to stop, what she describes as "massive criminal securities fraud" in the bank's mortgage operations.

Six years after the crisis that cratered the global economy, it's not exactly news that the country's biggest banks stole on a grand scale. That's why the more important part of Fleischmann's story is in the pains Chase and the Justice Department took to silence her.

MEGA PUKE-FACTOR 9 BEX TSUNAMI ALERT - How Hillary Clinton won the 2014 midterms

But here’s the thing: In politics, the easy answer isn’t always the only answer, and the winner of an election isn’t always the one who benefits most. Take a closer look at demography, geography and the road ahead for the parties, and it’s clear that the long-term winner of the 2014 midterms wasn’t the GOP at all. The long-term winner, in fact, wasn’t even on the ballot this year.

Her name is Hillary Clinton.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Talk about desperation on the cusp of madness! Hillary's spin-doctors are already out in force trying to delink the drubbing the Democrats got this week from Her Hillaryness. But the hard reality is that both Hillary and Bill Clinton did a lot of stumping around the nation trying to use their "star power" to lure Democratic voters, and it plainly did not work. And if Hillary could not attract voters in 2014, few will think she can in 2016. Yes, by 2016 the voters will be angry with the now GOP Congress, but Obama is still the Democratic President and shows no signs of altering the behavior which cost the Democrats Congress. Obama is one albatross around Hillary's neck she will not easily be rid of, especially of the GOP Congress decides to impeach Obama for his many high crimes and misdemeanors.

Boehner vows House will repeal Obamacare

House Speaker John A. Boehner said President Obama will “poison” chances for cooperation with Congress if he moves unilaterally to claim powers to grant legal status to illegal immigrants.

“He’s going to burn himself if he continues to go down this path,” Mr. Boehner said.

Newly elected to his House seat and likely to be returned at speaker in the next Congress, Mr. Boehner said he would like to tackle immigration in Congress but wouldn’t commit to holding a vote, saying he wanted to talk with his fellow House Republicans first.

He did, however, say the House will vote to repeal Obamacare and will also likely pass a bunch of bills to carve out some of the most contentious parts such as a tax on medical devices or the individual mandate.

The Alberta Energy Regulator says 122 waterfowl died on tailings ponds operated by Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., Syncrude and Suncor in the northern Alberta Oilsands.

The upcoming mid-term elections should inspire a swell of patriotic pride in our hearts as we Americans dutifully cast our precious votes to reshape our national priorities and values. Vote all you want. The secret government won’t change.

Though it’s a bedrock American principle that citizens can steer their own government by electing new officials, Glennon suggests that in practice, much of our government no longer works that way. In a new book, “National Security and Double Government,” he catalogs the ways that the defense and national security apparatus is effectively self-governing, with virtually no accountability, transparency, or checks and balances of any kind. He uses the term “double government”: There’s the one we elect, and then there’s the one behind it, steering huge swaths of policy almost unchecked. Elected officials end up serving as mere cover for the real decisions made by the bureaucracy.

IRS officials admit never trying to retrieve Lois Lerner's 'missing' emails

Now that Republican lawmakers will control both houses of the U.S. Congress beginning in Jan. 1, 2015, many conservatives and libertarians want them to pursue the truth regarding corruption, abuse and criminal acts within the decidedly partisan Internal Revenue Service. A top nonprofit, nonpartisan Washington, D.C., watchdog reported on Wednesday that officials from the scandal-ridden Internal Revenue Service (IRS) after saying they would do all they could to retrieve the requested documents, especially the IRS's controversial employee Lois Lerner's emails, admitted that they did absolutely nothing to try to find the mysterious "missing emails."

The Election Day victory being enjoyed by Sen. According to several sources, New Hampshire's ultra-progressive Shaheen is up to her "self-righteous neck" in a plot with the infamous Lois Lerner, President Barack Obama’s political appointee to the IRS, to lead a politcal vendetta of harassment against conservative nonprofit groups, especially True the Vote, in the midet of the 2012 election, said political strategist Michael Barker, a former criminal prosecuting attoney.

It’s hard to avoid the conclusion that last night’s midterm election was a referendum on President Obama. Republicans in nearly every close race made opposition to President Obama issue number one. We’ve been trained to believe in the value of a consistent critique and continual revision of politics and culture. However, it seems that many Jews believe that Jewish politics and culture are beyond criticism. For some bizarre reason, a number of major institutions of the Left agree that Jewish culture and politics are not open to evaluation. What Do US Election Results Mean for US-Israel Relations?

Prof. Eytan Gilboa, an expert on American-Israeli relations, spoke with Arutz Sheva about what he deemed the "three major issues Israel is concerned about," that could be significantly impacted by this change in US legislative control.

The first - the war with Islamic State (ISIS). Although the United States has been launching airstrikes against the terrorist group in Syria and Iraq, many Republicans feel the Obama administration's foreign policy is not doing enough against what many constituents view as a "serious threat."

With the Republican victory an increase in military spending and a comprehensive debate over policy toward the Islamic State seems likely.

BEX ALERT - Democrats’ insults of Netanyahu might send Jews to GOP

There is one potential long-term effect that could occur. With U.S.-Israel relations at their lowest point in years, and Mr. Obama’s weak-kneed positions on Israel and the Middle East, this could serve as the last straw for American Jews and their relationship with Democrats.

Certainly, not all Jews base their voting behavior on White House ties with Israel. The views of two Democratic staffers don’t represent the entire party, either. Yet it’s hard not to think this direct and offensive criticism of the Israeli prime minister would go unnoticed by (normally) Jewish Democratic moderates and centrists.

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger Agreed to Starve Americans for Israel in the Event of an Oil Crisis

In 1975, the US Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, secretly brokered a deal in which the United States of America guaranteed Israel’s oil supply in the event of a crisis. The 1975 Israel-United States Memorandum of Understanding (see the full text below) required the United States to maintain an oil reserve for Israel and guarantee the shipping of that oil to Israel in times of emergency. This deal has cost the United States more than a hundred billion dollars since it was first enacted. The most troubling aspect of this deal was not the cost however, but the stipulation that in case of an oil emergency in which both the US and Israel needed oil, the US would give its oil to Israel. Are Progressives Finking Out on Foreign Policy?

For all the endless fund-raising appeals and election hyperbole, few progressive politicians want to talk about our biggest foreign policy challenge, the escalation of American involvement in Syria and Iraq. Both Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders voted against training and arming the “moderates” in Syria. But neither have wanted to make an issue of Obama’s military intervention, and few on the left have called for them to do so.

This is sad, but not surprising, as I warned over a year ago in “Don’t Let Hillary Housebreak the New, New Left.” It’s wonderful that voters want more populist domestic policies, and it’s marvelously misleading that the multi-millionaire Clinton is verbally attacking Wall Street billionaires. I don’t think this is what my old comrades had in mind when they talked of class struggle.

Congress to consider corporate tax breaks after midterm elections

When the U.S. Congress returns to work next week after Tuesday’s midterm elections, one of its first tasks will be dealing with dozens of expired corporate tax breaks, whose renewal and extension are seen as likely though not guaranteed.

Known as “extenders,” the 55 temporary laws – including tax breaks for depreciation and research – have been in limbo since the end of 2013, when their last authorized extension ran out.

Corporations have been clamoring for months for Congress to renew the laws, which also involve offshore finance, green energy and narrow interests such as Puerto Rican rum production.

But lawmakers, deeply divided over fiscal issues, have not acted and now are under heavy pressure to deal with the extenders in the “lame duck” session that ends in December.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were I a betting woman, I would bet that these bills will be approved; when contributing massively to Congressional campaigns, corporations generally know that they will get what they have paid for.

Emotions rule their reason, and they are capable of a determined resistance to facts and are not inhibited from displays of rudeness and ignorance. Indeed, some are so proud of their shortcomings that they can’t wait to show them to others. Some simply cannot read and confuse explanations with justifications as if the act of explaining something justifies the person or event explained. Thankfully, all readers are not handicapped in these ways or there would be no point in trying to inform the American people.

No matter who wins, today's election outcome can't stop America's head-on course toward self-destruction

Regardless of the outcome of today's U.S. mid-term elections, there are some things that won't change one iota. While most of America has finally come to realize what a disaster Obama's presidency has really been in real-world terms, there are at least five other disasters looming in America's near future. And neither Republicans nor Democrats have any real plan to deal with these issues... especially when it's so much easier to get elected by slandering your opponent rather than proposing practical solutions.

So here's my warning on the five biggest threats still facing America in the years ahead. Don't hold your breath thinking anyone in Washington D.C. is willing to address any of these. After all, they are the ones who created most of these problems in the first place.

By a 4-to-1 margin, Americans say that domestic issues like the economy, health care, Medicare and Social Security are more important in deciding their vote for Congress than issues like the Ebola virus and the fight against ISIS, according to the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal national poll.

Seventy-seven percent of all voters pick the combined domestic issues, while just 19 percent say subjects like the Ebola virus, ISIS and Russia's actions in Ukraine are more important in deciding their vote.
