The Sheriff Revolt on New Gun Laws Shows Why America Needs More Decentralization

What the refusal of the 12 county law enforcement officials is doing is voicing displeasure with what amounts to a distant population dictating how they’ll operate in their own homes. Why are people in Seattle, who may never even set foot on the Eastern-side of the Cascades, let alone actually make that region their permanent home, imposing law on residents of Omak?

Dolly Parton Did Not Give Elizabeth Warren Permission to Use Her Song on Campaign Trail

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) announced her presidential run to the world while the Dolly Parton hit “9 to 5” played behind her.

Playing a hit song like that one — especially a tune that highlights the average American worker — can create quite a powerful moment for politicians.

Warren’s moment, however, was a bit unearned.

It turns out Dolly Parton never gave the senator permission to use her song. Her reason?

The country music star never allows her music to be used for political purposes.

“We did not approve the request, and we do not approve requests like this of [a] political nature,” Parton’s manager, Danny Nozell, recently told the Associated Press.

That Fake Poll on the Green New Deal

By Phillip W. Magness

Over 80 percent of American voters support the Green New Deal (GND), or so claim its backers citing a recent survey by a group of academic pollsters. Furthermore, this public endorsement is supposedly bipartisan, with 92 percent of Democrats and 64 percent of Republicans indicating that they either strongly or somewhat support the Far Left package to reshape the entire American economy around “green energy” in the course of the next decade.

A very different story lurks beneath the surface of these impressive-looking statistics....

Second Circuit Court of Appeals Has Sided with Cernovich – Ordering Records Unsealed in Jeffrey Epstein Case Unless Good Cause Is Shown

Today the Second Circuit Court of Appeals strongly suggested it would order the Epstein records unsealed after hearing arguments from First Amendment lawyer Marc Randazza.

The Court signaled its intent to unseal the records with what’s known as a “show cause” order. A show cause order is a legal term of art that roughy translates to, “You had better give us an excellent reason to change our mind.” The Court’s full order is available here:

Real Collusion: Leaked Documents Reveal DoJ Protected Steele After FBI Shunning

Steele was cut off by the FBI for revealing his relationship with the Bureau to the media - but Ohr continued to pass information from Steele to his colleagues, regularly spoke to him via email and phone, and met up with him face-to-face on several occasions.

Information watchdog Judicial Watch has released 339-pages of US Department of Justice records, revealing former Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr remained in regular contact with ex-MI6 operative Christopher Steele after Steele's status as a paid confidential informant was terminated by the FBI in November 2016.

Ocasio-Cortez and top aide should be investigated for possible campaign finance violations

An investigation is needed to determine if socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the media magnet on the far-left fringe of the Democratic Party, has broken federal campaign finance laws. If convicted of criminal conduct, she could get up to five years in prison for each violation.

We don’t know at this point if the New York congresswoman has engaged in improper conduct. But she and her chief of staff and former campaign manager Saikat Chakrabarti are accused of serious charges in a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) by the National Legal and Policy Center.

The accusations against Ocasio-Cortez are ironic because she has criticized the use of untraceable money in political campaigns and portrayed herself as a champion of campaign finance reform. Her Twitter biography says she is “100% people funded, no corporate PAC $.”

Young Democrats break America’s biggest taboo – criticism of Israel

Young Democratic stars like Tulsi Gabbard, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar have broken America’s biggest taboo - calling out Israel for its oppression of Palestinians - according to Eric S. Margolis, an American journalist and writer.

“Saying anything negative about Israel has long been the third rail of US politics and media. Israel is our nation’s most sacred cow. Any questioning of its behavior brings furious charges of anti-Semitism and professional oblivion,” Margolis wrote.

He added that a number of US senators and congressmen “lost their positions after rebuking Israel for its mistreatment of Palestinians or daring to suggest that Israel had far too much influence in the US.”

The analyst pointed out that “journalists were not even allowed to write there was an ‘Israel lobby.’”

Democrats rejected the vote.

Here We Go… Ocasio-Cortez Blames Reagan for Racism in America at Annual SXSW Conference in Austin (VIDEO)

The self-declared Democratic Socialist also criticized the treatment of minorities throughout American history, from Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal, which she claimed was racist, to Ronald Reagan’s policies, which she said “pitted” white working class people against minorities in order “to screw over all working-class Americans,” particularly African-Americans and Hispanics.

Of course, there is absolutely NO PROOF that Reagan pitted blacks against whites or that racial tension increased during his time in office.

Obama, on the other hand, inflamed race wars across America from Ferguson, Missouri to Baltimore, Maryland.
Ocasio-Cortez is not bright enough to see this.

Kobach: If You Wanted to Pass a Law to Encourage Voter Fraud

On Thursday, on a party line vote, Nancy Pelosi’s Democrats in the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, dubbed the “For the People Act of 2019.” It is a massive federal intrusion into the states’ constitutionally-protected realm of regulating and maintaining voter rolls.

It’s also a recipe for voter fraud. Republicans in the House correctly derided it as a “voter fraud and election theft” bill. But that understates how bad it is. H.R. 1 rolls out the red carpet for election fraud.

This is true in multiple respects. A few of the most outrageous provisions in the bill are the following:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Calls Capitalism ‘Irredeemable’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said during a Saturday interview at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, that the ideology of capitalism is “irredeemable.”

Just kidding! It turns out Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) is a fan of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-NY) and Sen. Ed Markey's (D-MA) ambitious Green New Deal. Hirono was justifiably confused about how her Hawaii constituents would fare if the measure passed, considering it calls for things like reduced air travel.

Legislators Response to Federal Rail Probe: Cancel State Audits

CB: … State lawmakers want to repeal an annual rail audit requirement in part, they say, to get out of the way of federal investigators now probing the multibillion-dollar transit project.

(Reality: They don’t want auditors to uncover even more, so they are de-funding the audits.)

On Tuesday, the House passed House Bill 118, a measure that was overhauled earlier via the “gut-and-replace” procedure. The revised bill would free the state auditor from having to inspect Honolulu rail’s invoices each year, making sure those expenses comply with what state law allows.

A similar measure is moving in the Senate.

As part of their 2017 rail bailout, state leaders gave the Department of Accounting and General Services $400,000 to verify that all rail expenditures are legitimate — that they relate directly to construction — before reimbursing the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation for the costs.

Netanyahu: Israel Is ‘Not a State of All Its Citizens’

For the sake of international standing, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tries to position himself as a right-of-center leader willing to talk peace. All of this flies out the window when an election campaign is ongoing, however, and Netanyahu shifts drastically right-ward, demonizing not just the occupied Palestinians, but also Israel’s own Arab minority.

If there wasn’t an election next month, Israel would be hyping its treatment of its Arab minority as equals. Instead, Netanyahu is trying to scare voters into thinking his political rivals might let Arabs into the government. When actor Rotem Sela criticized this, noting the Arabs are supposed to be equal, and so what if they were in the government, Netanyahu fired back that Israel was never meant to be “a state of all its citizens.”

More Power to You Miss Omar

Saying anything negative about Israel has long been the third rail of US politics and media. Israel is our nation’s most sacred cow. Any questioning of its behavior brings furious charges of anti-Semitism and professional oblivion.

I keep in my bookcase a cautionary book, ‘They Dared Speak Out’ written by US senators and congressmen who all lost their positions after rebuking Israel for its mistreatment of Palestinians or daring to suggest that Israel had far too much influence in the US.

Journalists learn this first commandment very early. Criticize, or even question, Israel at your own peril. Until recently, we journalists were not even allowed to write there was an ‘Israel lobby.’ It was widely considered Washington’s most powerful lobby group but, until lately, mentioning its name was seriously verboten.

Kids got 11 vaccines in 1986 and 53 in 2017… why? The answer is all about Big Pharma profits

A bombshell video snippet from Del Bigtree (see below) dares to ask the all-important question: Why have the number of vaccines given to children skyrocketed over the last three decades?

The answer may shock you. In 1986, Congress passed a law granting legal immunity to vaccine manufacturer, but only for vaccines on the childhood immunization schedule. Since then, vaccine makers have worked to push as many vaccines as possible onto that schedule for the sole purpose of enjoying legal immunity from lawsuits for faulty products and vaccine damage.

Thus, children have become a “dumping ground” for faulty vaccines that are manufactured with near-zero quality control measures because forcing those vaccines onto the childhood immunization schedule grants Big Pharma corporations legal immunity from lawsuits.

The Foilies: Recognizing The Worst in Government Transparency From 2018

By Dave Maass, Hayley Tsukayama, Camille Fischer, and Aaron Mackey

Around the world, nerds of all ages are using laws like the United States’ Freedom of Information Act (and state-level equivalent laws) to pry free secrets and expose the inner workings of our democracy. Each year, open government advocates celebrate these heroes during Sunshine Week, an annual advocacy campaign on transparency.

But the journalists and researchers who rely on these important measures every day can’t help but smirk at the boys’ scripted innocence. Too often, government officials will devise novel and outrageous ways to reject requests for information or otherwise stymie the public’s right to know. Even today—20 years after the events set in the episode—the White House continues to withhold key documents from the Kennedy assassination files.

IT’S TIME TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT CRITICISM OF ISRAEL

The House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a resolution Thursday condemning anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim discrimination, white supremacy and other forms of hate, following a week of debate among congressional Democrats. The controversy began after some lawmakers accused Democratic Congressmember Ilhan Omar of invoking anti-Semitic tropes while questioning U.S. foreign policy on Israel. The House leadership initially drafted a resolution condemning anti-Semitism in what was seen as a direct rebuke of Omar. But many progressive Democrats said Omar, one of the first two Muslim Congresswoman in U.S. history, was unfairly being singled out. The split within the Democratic Party forced the leadership to withdraw its initial resolution and then present a much broader one. Congressmember Ilhan Omar voted for and praised the new resolution in a joint statement with fellow Muslim lawmakers Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and André Carson of Indiana.
