The "War On Terror" Turns Inward – DHS Report Warns Of Right Wing Terror Threat

What you are about to read from CNN is just the very beginning of the intentional demonization of a growing segment of the U.S. population that rightly believes the government is run by a collective of thieving, corrupt, immoral sociopaths. This isn’t speculation either, years of content on this site serves as definitive proof that this is true. Commingling dissent, violence and “right wing” ideology will be key in the ultimate division of government critics in these United States, and a successful attempt to scare people away from questioning a clearly degraded and parasitic status quo.

Republic Of Texas Meeting Raided

TEXIANS UNDER ATTACK # 2

At the regularly scheduled meeting of the Republic of Texas, officially starting at 9:50 a.m. and held, as usual, at the rented VFW Post 4892 in Bryan, Texas, the congenial and unimposing group was raided at 10:10 a.m. by an army of policing agencies with flashing emergency lights: Police Departments of Bryan and College Station along with their Brazos County Sheriff’s Office counterparts (northeast of San Antonio) along with deputies from the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office (west of San Antonio), The Texas Rangers, Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol State Troopers, The Texas State Attorney General’s Office, the FBI, and the US Marshall Service. Ingress and egress from Harvey Mitchell Parkway was sealed even to the media that responded two hours later from KBTX television during the four-hour ordeal.

Pay to protest? Campaigners reject govt bid to ‘privatize dissent’

Furious campaign groups across the UK have rejected the government’s proposed ‘pay to protest’ measures, warning they will not hire private companies to facilitate anti-government rallies.

Their announcement on Thursday came shortly after Scotland Yard told protest groups it will no longer monitor traffic adjacent to protest sites in Britain. The force had previously carried out this role for decades.

Why the Free and Open Internet Is Never Going to Die

Oh well. I guess it’s time to pack it up guys. We had a really nice run, but I guess the bad guys won. The Internet as we know it dead. Hammer the last nail and shovel in the dirt. We’ll just have to go back to watching CNN and shopping at Walmart.

I’m kidding of course. Put the noose down and listen up folks. The free Internet isn’t going to disappear. It’s just going underground. Even in countries like China, dissidents and businessmen have found some pretty creative ways to work around their government’s strict censorship of the Internet. And people of Cuba have gone so far as to build their own Internet infrastructure, separate from the government’s overpriced service. Even Mexico’s drug cartels have built a sprawling clandestine communication system that allow them to evade and spy on the authorities.

It is. It’s outdated programming and the engineers of deceit can’t keep up. The vibrational changes are exceeding their capabilities. ‘What part of no don’t you understand?’ TTIP critics target EU trade commissioner

EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom’s visit to London to promote the EU-US Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) has been met with protest, as MPs say more transparency is needed to address public concern.

Malmstrom’s meeting with business and political leaders Monday afternoon was an attempt to shore up more public support for the deal, which has been criticized for allowing large corporations to flourish at the expense of small businesses.

Business Secretary Vince Cable will tell the Commissioner there are many benefits for the US and the EU, but only if politicians are given access to TTIP as the treaty develops, so that they can ask questions on behalf of the public.

Protest group StopTTIP UK, however, say Monday’s meeting ignores the fact “people across the EU are loudly and clearly rejecting” TTIP, claiming the trade deal could jeopardize governments’ legal freedom and will lower trade standards.

Polish Farmers Blockade Motorways Across Country

This week thousands of Polish family farmers turned out to protest in over 50 locations across the country. Over 150 tractors blockaded the A2 motorway into Warsaw on the 3rd February and hundreds more continue to close major roads and picket government offices in other regions. The farmers are vowing to continue the struggle until the government agrees to enter talks with the unions and commits to addressing what the farmers see as a crisis in Polish agriculture.

These actions represent a dramatic escalation of protests that have been simmering across the country over the last year. Edward Kosmal, chairman of the farmers protest committee for West-Pomeranian Region said: “We are ready for dialogue. We look forward to meeting with you Prime Minister and beginning a comprehensive government commitment to solving the problems of Polish agriculture. If you do not enter into a dialogue with the Union, we would be forced to tighten our forms of protest.”

Germany faces impossible choice as Greek austerity revolt spreads

The political centre across southern Europe is disintegrating. Establishment parties of centre-left and centre-right - La Casta, as they say in Spain - have successively immolated themselves enforcing EMU debt-deflation.
Spain's neo-Bolivarian Podemos party refuses to fade. It has endured crippling internal rifts. It has shrugged off hostile press coverage over financial ties to Venezuela. Nothing sticks.
The insurrectionists who came from nowhere last year - with Trotskyist roots and more radical views than those of Syriza in Greece - are pulling further ahead in the polls. The latest Metroscopia survey gave Podemos 28pc. The ruling conservatives have dropped to 21pc.
The once-great PSOE - Spanish Workers Socialist Party - has fallen to 18pc and risks fading away like the Dutch Labour Party, or the French Socialists, or Greece's Pasok. You can defend EMU policies, or you can defend your political base, but you cannot do both.

Discontent with Washington, US states look to nullify federal laws

State legislatures in the US are considering more than 200 bills – from gun rights to marijuana accessibility – that would nullify or work around various federal laws and regulations crafted in Washington, according to a states’ rights advocacy group.

The Tenth Amendment Center told The Hill the 200-plus pieces of current legislation seeking to challenge or wrest control from the federal government mark a climate of both suspicion and empowerment. The center tracks and supports states’ rights initiatives across the country.

“People are becoming more and more concerned about the overreach of the federal government,” said the group’s spokesman, Mike Maharrey. “They feel the federal government is trying to do too much, it’s too big and it’s getting more and more in debt.”

Tsipras favours Greek jobless over creditors in defiant policy speech

The Greek prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, has announced his anti-austerity government programme in a defiant address that prioritised the jobless and destitute over international creditors who have lent the country more than $300bn (£200bn).

In his first policy speech before parliament, he said his government did not have the right to prolong the five-year bailout deal that has foisted austerity on Greece, and felt a duty “not to disappoint” those who had voted him into power.

“We see hope, dignity and pride returning to Greek citizens. Our obligation and duty is not to disappoint them,” he told the 300-seat house. “We realise that negotiations [with foreign lenders] won’t be easy … but we have faith in our struggle, because justice is on our side.”

2. You can go and outreach to the police and encourage them to respect and protect the rights of the protesters. That is a vital task that we Oath Keepers are pretty good at, and we should be doing that.

This also includes warrantless surveillance of individuals.

Banking on serious reform

Why do Canadians allow private banks to profit off our public debt when the Bank of Canada is legislated to provide low- or no-interest loans for human capital and infrastructure spending? The Bank of Canada has not issued such loans since 1974, after it funded Canada out of the Great Depression, the Second World War, the infrastructure boom, universal health care, universities and colleges, CBC and more. Monday, three judges upheld the previous ruling of justiciability. The next step is to determine the statutes of the Bank of Canada Act and if they have been subverted by conspiracy.

The monopoly of private banks' exclusive privilege of lending money to governments will, for the second time in our history, soon be put on trial. The first time it was debated in the House of Commons, it led to the creation of the Bank of Canada. It's time to restore the Bank of Canada and jail the banksters.

Here's Some Frightening Honesty (Courtesy Of The US Congress)

A member of my staff caught an obscure resolution that was introduced in the US House of Representatives last week—Resolution no. 41.

The fact that there was essentially no coverage of this Resolution really shows how the mainstream media is completely turning a blind eye to the true fiscal situation of the United States of America.

The entire point of the resolution is to say that the federal government is broke.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Resolution 41 admits the federal Government is basically broke, and recommends that the federal Government which allowed (even encouraged) the 2008 mortgage-backed securities fraud that emptied state and privater pension funds not be responsible for bailing them out, and that these defunded pension funds "restructure" to reduce costs (meaning cheat the people dependent on those pensions).

There were several marches – the one we went on had about 2,000 people. Then we went to Grand Central Station where about 200 of us held up the names of unarmed Black citizens, mostly young men, who were killed by the police. People read about them, who they were, how they died. After each story people said their name, all together, and raised their fist in the air. People passing through stopped to listen. Some family members of those killed were there. After 3 hours someone read King’s last speech and we repeated it, one line at a time (Occupy style) and then everyone sang We Shall Overcome and Keep Your Eyes on the Prize, Hold On. Actually, we did the same thing for 24 hours last week. It is a very powerful experience.

Russia signs military cooperation deal with Iran

Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu on Tuesday signed a military cooperation deal with Iran that his Iranian counterpart touted as a joint response to US "interference".

Shoigu is the most senior Russian military official to visit Tehran since 2002, according to Iranian media, and the agreement comes with both countries facing western sanctions.

The deal provides for joint exercises and military training, as well as "cooperation in peacekeeping, maintaining regional and international security and stability, and fighting against separatism and extremism," the Iranian defence ministry website said.

Defence minister Hossein Dehqan told state television that Iran and Russia had a "shared analysis of US global strategy, its interference in regional and international affairs and the need to cooperate in the struggle against the interference of foreign forces in the region."

Dr. King’s Legacy Isn’t Just a Dream. It’s Denouncing War, Poverty, and Injustice

This year, Martin Luther King, Jr. would have turned 85-years-old. Since he embraced peace, practiced nonviolent resistance, and sought a loving society, for years the media has cast him as a sincere, avuncular, dreamy leader. This hardly comports with his essence or his fiercely tenacious battles—against war, racism and poverty—found in his writings, speeches, marches, and jail time.

King died because he was a radical thinker and activist whose movement challenged the powerful and made dangerous enemies. In 1964 when he won the Nobel Peace Prize, FBI director J. Edgar Hoover called him “the most notorious liar in the country.” When he denounced the Vietnam War in 1967 the liberal New York Times and Washington Post roundly condemned him for questioning this part of America’s anti-communist crusade.

All the other ways—and I have no doubt that the people in Ferguson and St. Louis, as we have, marched peacefully, sent letters and went to city council meetings to protest police violence—have proved ineffective. We will see other incidents like this one, but because of demographic changes these rebellions will occur in places that did not rebel previously.”

EU Showdown: Greece Takes on the Vampire Squid

Greece and the troika (the International Monetary Fund, the EU, and the European Central Bank) are in a dangerous game of chicken. The Greeks have been threatened with a “Cyprus-Style prolonged bank holiday” if they “vote wrong.” But they have been bullied for too long and are saying “no more.”

A return to the polls was triggered in December, when the Parliament rejected Prime Minister Antonis Samaras’ pro-austerity candidate for president. In a general election, now set for January 25th, the EU-skeptic, anti-austerity, leftist Syriza party is likely to prevail. Syriza captured a 3% lead in the polls following mass public discontent over the harsh austerity measures Athens was forced to accept in return for a €240 billion bailout.

Austerity has plunged the economy into conditions worse than in the Great Depression. As Professor Bill Black observes, the question is not why the Greek people are rising up to reject the barbarous measures but what took them so long.

Due to the unanimous voice of the citizens of Nye County, the commissioners ended the meeting with a decision to draft a resolution revoking any authority the county had given the BLM and declaring that federal agencies do not have constitutional authority to administer land or resources in the State of Nevada including Nye County.

Protesting the right to protest?

After the tragic death of two NYPD police officers at the hands of a police brutality protest sympathizer, some people have taken to the streets to "protest the protesters".

These anti-protest activists display their complete lack of empathy and decency by wearing "I Can Breathe" T-shirts, mocking the devastating last words of Eric Garner.

Could the senseless murder of two NYPD officers really discredit an entire movement based on the killing of thousands of unarmed people by police hands?

Somehow I think not.

UPDATED ~~ 1st AND 2nd DEMOS OF THE YEAR IN NEW YORK ~~ IN PHOTOS

On New Year’s Day 50+ people gathered in New York City’s Grand Central Station for a “sing” to protest the police killings of Black citizens in New York City and nationally. The song began with “ I can hear my brother crying ‘I can’t breathe’” it was sung eleven times, the number of times Staten Islander Eric Gardner cried out as he was killed by a police choke hold. The only person arrested that day had made a video of the event which had gone viral. The protesters noted that District Attorneys have not indicted any police officer engaged in the racial shooting of Blacks.

Repeal The 16th Amendment Movement Gathers Steam

Webmaster's Commentary:

A repeal is impossible with the government as deeply in debt as it is, and in any event, your time and energy is better spent informing people that the 16th Amendment actually failed ratification and the government (gasp) lied to the people about it!

Firecracker sales high for New Year's celebrations

Webmaster's Commentary:

Personal fireworks are illegal in Hawaii, except for firecrackers for which you must buy a license from the local government (which costs more than the firecrackers). But while Hawaiians' ardor for the Fourth of July has cooled in recent years, this New Year's was the greatest display of illegal fireworks since 2000!

The smugglers brought in a huge amount of the banned fireworks, and the show got underway right after sunset, peaked at 11:30 and continued unabated until 1:00 AM, then started to taper off. But even as I type these words at 4:35 AM I can still hear in the distance the occasional sound of another exploding firework.

The message is clear; we have had enough of government telling us we cannot do this and we cannot do that, and last night's raucous display was a benign rejection of nanny government, with President Obama here to witness it! With some of the smuggled fireworks powerful enough to rattle the windows, I expect the Secret Service was very nervous last night, and probably did not get much sleep! :)

UK police misuse pre-charge bail to ban activists from protesting – report

UK police forces are misusing pre-charge bail by banning hundreds of protestors from attending lawful demonstrations, The Guardian newspaper has revealed. Of all bailed protesters, eighty-five percent are never charged with any crime.

Since 2008 police have arrested at least 855 people in England and Wales and then released them on pre-charge bail, setting a date to return to the police station. Until their return, those bailed were prohibited from attending any demonstration. However, 85 percent, or about 732 people, have never been charged, according to data the Guardian collected using the Freedom of Information Act.

FBI keeps lid on sniper plot to kill ‘Occupy Wall Street’ organizers

Heavily redacted FBI memos confirm that the Federal Bureau of Investigation was aware of a plot to assassinate the Houston organizers of “Occupy Wall Street,” but the agency has managed to withhold the details from the American public using the worn-out excuse that transparency compromises national security.

According to the agency’s official memos, an unnamed party or agency “planned to engage in sniper attacks against protestors in Houston, Texas, if deemed necessary… [Redacted] planned to gather intelligence against the leaders of the protest groups and obtain photographs, then formulate a plan to kill the leadership via suppressed sniper rifles.”

Protesters to Defy De Blasio, Plan to ‘Shut Down’ Fifth Ave. in New York

Protesters in New York City plan to “shut down” 5th Avenue, a main shopping area in Manhattan, tonight. The call to do so happens after New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio asked for any protests to stop until both recently murdered NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu are buried this weekend.

According to reports, The Answer Coalition said it would go through with the march, which it says was planned long before Saturday night’s murders. They denounced the mayor for asking for a moratorium on protests, saying that would be an “outrageous” attempt to chill free speech.

RABBINICAL TAUNTING OF THE SEASON

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach taunted a crowd of human rights protesters in front of the seemingly closed and emptied flagship Leviev diamond store on Madison Avenue. Leviev’s companies have built thousands of Israeli settlement homes and have been accused of abusing and torturing Angolan diamond miners.

Boteach stood in front of the empty Leviev store and began shouting. “Israel,” “Down with Hamas,” “Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East,” “Down with the Palestinians.” He suddenly stopped and complained that he was being videotaped. Police told Boteach to leave as he was drowned out by chants of, “How fancy, how pretty, Leviev out of New York City.” Boteach was accompanied by a young man wearing a scarf for the notoriously racist Beitar Jerusalem football team. Boteach has expressed his support for Hebron’s notoriously violent and racist settlers.

Houston P.D. Orders All Officers Turn Off Body Cameras During Protest

“We’re going to go ahead and turn off the personal video devices going forward, so be sure all officers have them turned off when engaging the protesters.” The words cut through me and chilled my spine as I sat, helplessly handcuffed in the back of a Houston Police cruiser after being arrested in the midst of a protest.

As an activist who has been around the block a few times, I knew that little would endanger a crowd more than a crowd of officers who had just received an order from higher up to disable their own personal accountability.

NSA Firefoxed: Mozilla team-up with Tor to improve internet privacy

The internet browser Mozilla is teaming up with Tor to give internet users greater security online. The new Polaris project is designed to combat internet censorship and make NSA like intrusion’s a thing of the past.

Edward Snowden’s revelations concerning the extent of the National Security Agency’s spying on the general public, hit computer and internet enthusiasts hard. A poll conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of the internet company Mozilla last month, found that three quarters of those surveyed feel that their personal information on the web is less secure than it was one year ago.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The comment in the article about the NSA not being able to find a TOR users identity is not entirely accurate. Recently it has come to light that if a user has the flash player installed on their computer, malicious code inside a flash object can detect the source IP of the request despite the onion network, which is why the current implementation of TOR recommends users not have the flash player installed. However I think that Mozilla and TOR will close that exploit (if they have not already done so).

As a general rule, everyone ought to be using anonymity tools and strong encryption, even if you do not really have anything to hide, to jam the NSA with added workload and confuse them as to who they should be looking at. For your local data protection or small-group communications, I strongly recommend investing the time to develop your own encryption methods using the code snippets in the NSA Challenge page as examples.

NSA and EFF to square off in court over internet surveillance

A digital rights group in the United States plans to argue in federal court this week that the National Security Agency’s internet surveillance operations violate the US Constitution’s ban against unlawful searches and seizures.

“Hands up. Don’t shoot!”

“I can’t breathe!”

“How do we spell murder? NYPD!”

These were the sounds heard in the Times Sq. area last night as over 100 people gathered to protest the killings of unarmed Black people that have been going on for much too long in this country. A multi-racial, multi-ethnic group of people stood in the cold for 2 hours holding signs, reading the names of victims, and telling their stories to all who would listen. To further decry the long history of American racism, the names of people lynched, like Emmett Till, were included in the signs and recitation.

Where are the hundreds protesting the taxpayer put on the hook for #300 trillion of potential derivatives losses to save the Wall Street firms that made fortunes selling those derivatives?

These Michael Brown and Eric Garner protests are staged propaganda by a government intent on turning us against ourselves so we cannot unite against them!

Egypt alliance holds rallies against military rule

Members of Egypt's Anti-Coup Alliance have held nationwide rallies calling for an immediate end to military rule and the release of all political detainees in the North African country, Press TV reports.

Egyptian demonstrators who took to the streets on Friday were faced by security forces, but no heavy clashes were reported.

The alliance, led by the Muslim Brotherhood, also called for a round of national protests against the government of President Abdel Fatah el Sisi, who led a military coup last year against Mohamed Morsi, Egypt’s first democratically-elected president.

“The government is fragile and it will soon collapse because after the revolution which hasn’t achieved its goals yet, the people will not accept injustice anymore and they will for sure revolt against any tyrant,” said Fawzy Soliman of the Egyptian opposition group, the April 6 Youth Movement.
