Democrats Pass Increased Gun Control With Help From Eight Republicans!

In case you missed it, House Democrats led the charge to pass the Bipartisan Background Checks Act (H.R. 8) which would expand background checks for nearly every gun sale. The vote tally was 240 to 190, but this was primarily for show because it is not expected to pass the Republican-held Senate.

Why was it bipartisan? It also turns out that eight House Republicans joined Democrats to vote for increased gun control.

If “gun-free zones” actually worked, then 98% of mass shootings wouldn’t happen in them

Since 1950, in fact, a whopping 97.8 percent of mass public shootings, or 98 percent rounded up, took place in areas where signs had been posted indicating that guns were not allowed there. Whether spelled out or designated with a giant red strikethrough symbol over a handgun, the messaging was clear in almost every instance: guns are prohibited in this area, so you’re not allowed to shoot anyone here.

But as with all other laws that criminals choose to break, gun-free zones have never actually stopped active shooters from storming them and shooting up the place. In fact, gun-toting criminals prefer gun-free zones to commit their atrocities because they know that law-abiding citizens won’t be able to intervene as they otherwise would be in “zones” where carrying a gun is allowed.

Wake Up, America! (Artificially created rights violate the natural law and destroy freedom)

The bottom line to all this is that artificially created rights implemented through government force constitute a violation of natural law, a violation that leads ultimately to tyranny. Worst of all, those who do not believe such a thing to be possible in the United States of America are sure to be caught unprepared. Do not allow yourself to be included in this group of wishful thinkers.

Senate Passes Permitless Carry, Stitt Signs into Law Hours Later

Governor Stitt on Wednesday signed House Bill 2597 just hours after the Oklahoma Senate passed the measure allowing for permitless carry by Oklahomans who can legally own a firearm. This is Stitt’s first piece of legislation he has signed into law as governor.

HB 2597 allows Oklahomans age 21 years old or older to carry a firearm without a permit, permits veterans, active duty, and reserve military aged 18 years old or older to carry without a permit and prohibits felons, domestic violence offenders, and individuals who have been adjudicated as mentally ill from carrying a firearm.

The measure leaves in place the protections for private property owners to restrict firearms from being carried on their property. Higher education institutions will be able to set their carry policies as well.

Senate Floor Leader Kim David is the Senate author of HB 2597.

'Gun Violence Is the Real Emergency’ (NOPE!)

Earlier this week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told a group of supporters and journalists that in her view, gun violence is the real emergency. Such a statement, in the context in which she made it, should send shivers down the spines of all who believe in personal liberty protected by the Constitution.

U.S. House Passes Extreme Gun Control Bill, President Trump Threatens VETO

Today, the newly minted anti-gun leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives passed its first gun control measure by a 240 -190 vote, offering further proof that anti-gun politicians are more interested in scoring cheap political points than doing their jobs and passing meaningful legislation that would make Americans safer.

Democrat Party Leaders Are Sick in the Head ~ VIDEO Proof

What this tells me is New York Governor Cuomo is okay with a one-way massacre occurring at the scene of one of his “gun-free school zones” but not in any room where he is in attendance. In fact, not only is this imbecile okay with it, he finds the suggestion to protect “the children” with the same means of protection he brazenly uses, laughable. -- Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing laughable about what I just wrote, that a Governor of a U.S. state would not afford “the children” he supposedly wants to protect, the very same protection he insists upon for himself.

The NRA article says, “Congressional Democrats target gun owners for persecution with extreme firearm transfer bans.”

New York Reveals the Scam Behind Firearms Waiting Periods

Among the many anti-Second Amendment bills being considered in New York is S.2374/A.2690. These bills, if they pass the state legislature, will likely be signed by Andrew Cuomo.

They’re Baaa’aack: Moms Demand Action Protest Georgia Constitutional Carry

Oh, right about now I can hear the socialists accusing me of threatening the gun-haters. Nope, as usual, they would be dead wrong. The point I’m making is law-abiding Americans don’t use their gun rights to attack other Americans, thereby proving once again that the whole lot of them are after us, not the bad guys. After all, if 100 million Americans with guns were a problem, wouldn't they already know it? -- Their political endgame being complete civilian disarmament, not “gun safety,” you can count on them continuing to use one fundamental right to destroy another.

The Tactical Industry and the Erosion of Constitutional Rights

When we put things together and view the totality of circumstances, we see a police agency in a red flag law state destroying confiscated firearms. We have a popular company in the industry aiding them (interestingly, committing a federal felony in one of the pictures). This insight can give viewers the perception that the Police may have taken these firearms without due process in one of these red flag cases. That might sound like a bit of a leap in logic, mixed in with assumptions- but there is more to the story.

The US ‘Has the Most Mass Shootings’—and Other Bogus Gun Research

Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., warned President Donald Trump that if he declared an “emergency” to build a wall, “think what a president with different values can present. … Why don’t you declare [the epidemic of gun violence in America] an emergency, Mr. President? I wish you would. … A Democratic president can declare emergencies as well.”

Her fellow Democrats, Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., quickly agreed. Warren tweeted: “Gun violence is an emergency. Climate change is an emergency.”
Yikes.

Not every problem in America should be declared an emergency—or used by a president to justify
But why are guns on the Democrats’ “emergency” list anyway?

One reason is sloppy reporting by lazy media.

Does a Sheriff Really Have The Right To Choose Which Laws To Enforce?

I have received several media inquiries regarding the sheriffs in Washington and New Mexico who are valiantly standing against their states' attempts to promote Gun Control. Invariably, these well-intended reporters ask how it is that our nation's sheriffs can choose which laws to enforce. The answer is an easy one: because that is precisely what they promised to do. But in the case of Washington, the people voted by referendum to support more gun control by 58%. So the sheriffs there have the duty to go along with "the will of the people." Right?

Lincoln County approves 2nd Amendment sanctuary status

Lincoln County commissioners voted 4-1 Tuesday to approve a resolution to become a 2nd Amendment sanctuary county in reaction to proposed state gun legislation.

Commissioner Elaine Allen cast the lone nay vote, saying while she concurred with many of the comments from the audience, she did not support the idea of a sanctuary status.

Commissioner Lynn Willard also expressed reservations, but voted with the majority.

Commissioner Tom Stewart offered amended language to include the "lack of common sense" in the legislative process and adding that the county will pursue litigation, if necessary.

Lincoln County Sheriff Robert Shepperd and other sheriffs across the state contend that some provisions in the proposed laws are unconstitutional.

New York’s Crackdown on Knives Sparks Legal Battle

By Ilya Shapiro

It is fundamentally (and constitutionally) unfair to impose criminal liability on people who have no way of knowing their conduct is illegal and have no intent to commit a crime.

If a law is so vague that it makes it impossible to know whether what you’re doing is illegal or not, it cannot stand. Especially not when the vague law requires no criminal intent to render an action unlawful. The state of New York ignored this basic point of criminal law with its ban of “gravity knives”—pocket knives capable of being opened by the mere force of gravity or a slight flick of the wrist, as opposed to “switchblades,” which are spring loaded...

Another Study Blames Guns, Excludes Reality

Anti-gun advocates want to limit the rights of law-abiding gun owners and so research like this is held up as evidence that it must be the firearms themselves when, in reality, no one is arguing that everyone with any of the symptoms of mental illness tested here are necessarily dangerous. The inclusion of mental illness in the debate over gun rights is because some with severe mental illnesses do not receive the help they need and commit horrible acts. The responsible, law-abiding nature of tens of millions of American gun owners is ignored by efforts to restrict our rights.

More Guns, Less Crime: Concealed-carry Permit Holders More Law-abiding Than Police

It was Guy Smith, writing in his Gun Facts blog, who first alerted his readers to a study showing that “people with concealed carry licenses are 5.7 times less likely to be arrested for violent offences than the general public and 13.5 times less likely to be arrested for non-violent offenses than the general public.” Referring to another study, Smith noted that “the four-year violent crime arrest rate of CCW holders is 128 per 100,000 [but] for the general population it is 710 per 100,000. In other words, CCW holders are 5.5 times less likely to commit a violent crime [than the general public].”

But it was John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center, who went one step further: examining how CCW holders behave when compared to police. He concluded that “concealed handgun permit holders are extremely law-abiding,” adding, “In Florida and Texas, permit holders are convicted of misdemeanors and felonies at one-sixth of the rate at which police officers are convicted.”

The U.S. should not only build a wall to defend its own country from criminal enterprises emanating from Mexico, but the U.S. should also pressure the Mexican government to stop crime at the source. Mexico should help pay for the damage that drug addiction and drug-related violence does to families. Mexico should own up to their crime-sponsoring gun laws, which create victims out of law-abiding citizens, while spreading organized crime and its violence into the great United States of America, where armed citizens must be more vigilant and on watch.

Very Bad Things Can Happen in 2020 If We Allow It

Our right to bear arms is going to be one of the top three campaign issues as 2020 ramps up, Bloomberg will spend over $1 billion of his own personal fortune, and the anti-gun establishment (funded by Bloomberg) will vastly outspend all of us. I can only hope that all of us understand what is getting ready to happen over the coming months and take the necessary action to defeat them. It includes mobilizing everyone you know, volunteering for campaign events, knocking on doors, making phone calls, talking on radio programs, suing the anti-gunner supported legislation in courts of law, and ultimately getting at least one more of us to the polls on election day in November 2020 than they do.

Assault Speech and Hate Weapons- Media Spin that would make Orwell proud

It is dangerous to let other people do our thinking for us. We seem certain we can define “hate speech”. We’re convinced that “assault weapons” are bad. Both terms have been manipulated by politicians and the media to mean anything they want them to mean. We were sold such a twisted-logic of lies that it would be funny.. if it were not so dangerous. -- Elites with armed bodyguards tell us to give up our tools of self-defense. We’re called toxic-hateful-deplorable-clingers if we object. “Assault weapon” is a debating term and so is “hate speech”. An assault weapon is any firearm a politician wants to confiscate today. “Hate speech” are any statements that criticize the politician’s latest voting block. The elites lie to us. Look at their record of hypocrisy to see the truth of that statement.

They have come a long way, boiling the frog slowly under the radar, but you and I know it. Permits for carrying firearms discreetly already come with a ban on possession in places serving alcohol. Oregon Anti-Gunners Launch Attack; 20 Rounds a Month in One Bill!

Under provisions of SB 501, receipt of a firearm without a valid permit could land someone in jail for up to 364 days, and impose a fine of up to $6,250. Failure to secure a firearm with a cable or trigger lock, or in a locked box, could result in 30 days behind bars and a $1,250 fine. -- But the most alarming tenet of the bill is a restriction on the amount of ammunition someone can purchase in any 30-day period. SB 501 would limit someone to getting 20 rounds a month. Crime News Favors Armed Citizens: Defense Of Life, Liberty, And Property Are Basic Human Rights

The exercise of Second Amendment rights in defense of self or others is not a rare or extraordinary event, but a daily occurrence in the lives of ordinary Americans doing ordinary things. However, most don’t use it in defense of the government. But there could come a time when it is necessary. And that’s what makes it a basic human right. No one should ever be enslaved to the point that they have to die or be stolen from. We’ve already seen what can happen when Nazi’s take over and a nation succumbs to complete socialist rule. Not to mention how brutally bad the democide is when communism takes a hold. -- Democide (when governments kill the people they rule over): the largest killer of humans in history other than natural causes. December 2018 NICS Background Checks make Second Highest on Record

The National Instant Background Checks System (NICS) checks for December of 2018 were 2,543,385. They were just a little less (42,753) than NICS checks for December of 2017. That makes them the fourth highest December on record and puts the total for 2018 as the second highest year of NICS checks on record with 26,181,936. The top year was 2016, with 27,438,673. -- Two things conspired to bring about the “Trump Slump”. The first is that President Trump is not Hillary Clinton. Gun owners are not as concerned about being able to purchase the gun and ammunition they want. There is also less fear of emotionally driven politics will be used to deny them the guns they wish to have. -- The second part is many NICS checks are for other purposes. Once we take out the background checks done for permits and permit renewals, The numbers drop. The numbers of permit and permit recheck numbers for December of 2018 were 737,926 and 285,273, respectively.

A good guy with a gun has saved many lives in Florida – something the media rarely report

Thankfully, a heroic citizen with a permit to legally carry a concealed handgun was able to save countless lives in Florida Saturday when he shot a gunman who opened fire on a back-to-school event attended by over 150 students at a park in Titusville, Florida.

The media rarely give national news coverage to incidents like this, but responsible gun owners have stepped forward in this way many times before to save lives. In fact, concealed handgun permit holders have prevented dozens of mass public shootings just in recent years, while receiving only brief mentions in local news coverage.

Fortunately, only the attacker was injured in Titusville. The gun permit holder shot him in the head to keep the attacker from shooting any children and adults in the park. Neither the permit holder nor the attacker have been identified so far by police. The attacker suffered life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized.

Defensive gun uses by people legally carrying guns over the past two months
