US Plans to Recognize Kurdish Area in Syria 3x Size of Lebanon 'Soon' - Reports

Washington is planning 'concrete steps' toward providing a Syrian Democratic Forces-controlled area in northern Syria's eastern Euphrates area three times the size of Lebanon with diplomatic recognition, a leading Arabic international newspaper has reported.

The 28,000 square km territory, controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces, a collection of predominantly Kurdish militias including the YPG People's Protection Units, took its first step toward US recognition after US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis promised to send US diplomats to SDF-controlled areas to work alongside US troops operating in the region, the official said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short question, President Trump; IF, in fact, such reports on this deal are true, have both Syria's Al Assad, and Russia's Putin, gotten the memo on it?!?

Because once again, logically-minded people are going to look at this announcement, and mutter to themselves that the American government and military must have, yet again, collectively become insane, to invite war with Russia inside Syria.

2017: The year in which Brazil was subjected to Neoliberal Shock Therapy

While the year 2017, at the international level, was a year of defeats for globalism, Atlanticism and liberal global hegemony, sadly, when it comes to our country, we can not say the same. For Brazil, the year 2017 was a year of defeat and a deepening of our decadence.

As the advanced forces of liberal global hegemony recede in the Middle East, are paralyzed in Eurasia and Asia and are scared in Europe, the center of globalism, whose operational heart is the American Deep State, sought to ensure its predominance in "their backyard" of Ibero-America.

Enter the 'petro': Venezuela to launch oil-backed cryptocurrency

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro looked to the world of digital currency to circumvent U.S.-led financial sanctions, announcing on Sunday the launch of the “petro” backed by oil reserves to shore up a collapsed economy.

The leftist leader offered few specifics about the currency launch or how the struggling OPEC member would pull off such a feat, but he declared to cheers that “the 21st century has arrived!”

“Venezuela will create a cryptocurrency,” backed by oil, gas, gold and diamond reserves, Maduro said in his regular Sunday televised broadcast, a five-hour showcase of Christmas songs and dancing.

The petro, he said, would help Venezuela “advance in issues of monetary sovereignty, to make financial transactions and overcome the financial blockade.”

Russian underwater vehicle makes first dive in Argentine submarine search area

The remote-controlled underwater vehicle Panther Plus, provided by Russia, took the first snapshot of the object found in the search area of the San Juan submarine, according to a representative of the Argentine Navy.

According to the representative, the signal recorded on November 30 by Victor Angelescu vessel’s sonar of the Ministry of Agriculture was verified with the help of an image taken by the Russian apparatus Panther Plus. Thus, that the object found at a depth of 477 meters is not the San Juan submarine.

The search for the vessel continues, three more signals recorded in the search zone at a depth of 700, 800 and 900 meters will be checked.

BRICS PLANNING ITS OWN GOLD TRADING SYSTEM

As the US and its E.U. partners continue to levy punitive sanctions on Russia, the BRICS are responding with new financial initiatives to help their members break-out of the US and European financial trading monopoly.

Currently, both China and Russia are surging ahead as the world’s top Central Bank buyers of gold, further consolidating their position to be able to weather a global dollar crisis which many expert believe is inevitable. When exactly that happens is still anyone’s guess.

NOTE: Russia is now the largest official buyer of gold – and the world’s third-biggest producer.

RT International reports…

Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) are discussing the possibility of establishing a separate gold trading system, according to the First Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Central Bank Sergey Shvetsov.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why we are seeing such demonization of China and Russia; to prevent a loss of US dollar hegemony, the US government is willing to go to war to prevent this, if they deem it necessary.

Last Spring, Paul Craig Roberts shared the following report; and he is a guy who knows something about the inner workings in the Bowels of Power in DC:

Washington Plans to Nuke Russia and China

And unfortunately for President Trump and this country, all of Trump's "President Whisperers" are war-centric, as though this was the only way to resolve the US government's geopolitical conflicts, rather than good faith, moral, hard-one negotiations.

Let’s Stop Glorifying War

When’s the last time our media covered war honestly? When’s the last time you saw combat footage of American troops under fire, or of American troops killing others in the name of keeping us safe from enemies? When was the last time you saw an American soldier panicking, firing wildly, perhaps killing members of his own unit (fratricide) or innocent civilians caught in the crossfire of war? Maybe in the 1960s during coverage of the Vietnam War?

War is not glorious. It may feature noble deeds and remarkable sacrifices, but it also features brutality and many other bloody realities. War breaks men (and women) down. It does so because war is unnatural. Yes, war is many things, but it most certainly is about killing. Occasionally, the killing is even necessary. (Just ask those enslaved by the Nazis or the Japanese whether they greeted Allied troops as liberators.)

Adolf Hitler committed some of the most horrifying atrocities in human history, but when this photographer stumbled upon his secret French bunker, he was brave enough to go inside anyway.

Urban explorer and photographer Marc Askat braved the hunting season to walk through the thick wooded countryside in northern France. He was searching for a new subject for photographs and stumbled upon what is believed to be one of Adolf Hitler’s last bunkers— a place where the Nazi leader plotted the invasion of Britain.
The eerie underground stronghold is filled with stories from one of the most devastating wars in human history, but despite finding and photographing the bunker, Askat won’t reveal its exact location. It turns out he has a very good reason for keeping Hitler’s underground bunker location a secret from the public.

Venezuela Signs $3.2 Billion Debt Restructuring Deal With Russia

As Venezuela teeters right on the brink of complete financial collapse, Bloomberg reports that Russia has agreed to restructure roughly $3.2 billion in outstanding obligations. While details of the restructuring agreement are scarce, both sides reported that the deal spreads payments out over 10 years with minimal cash service required over the next six years.

Russia signed an agreement to restructure $3.15 billion of debt owed by Venezuela, throwing a lifeline to a crisis-wracked ally that’s struggling to repay creditors.

The deal spreads the loan payments out over a decade, with “minimal” payments over the first six years, the Russian Finance Ministry said in a statement. The pact doesn’t cover obligations of state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA to its Russian counterpart Rosneft PJSC, however.

Venezuela’s Oil Rival Calls For Full U.S. Sanctions

Argentina’s President, Mauricio Macri, has called on the United States to install a full embargo on Venezuelan oil shipments. In an interview for the Financial Times, Macri said that the social situation in Venezuela is rapidly deteriorating and more decisive measures are needed to topple the Nicolas Maduro government.

The US Southern Command's Silent Occupation of the Amazon

Brazil, Colombia and Peru share a triple borderland separating north from south on the South American continent. Located deep in the Amazon forest, this is the theater of operations in which more than 30 military companies test their services and merchandise. The multinational military exercise known as AmazonLog2017, is organized by the Armed Forces of Brazil.

The Southern Command of the United States -- the Unified Combatant Command of the United States Department of Defense with influence in the Caribbean, Central and South America -- is also an AmazonLog2017 participant.

Activists and researchers are alarmed about this military exercise. According to Mexican economist and geopolitical specialist Ana Esther Ceceña, AmazonLog2017 allows "the placement of troops that facilitate specific territorial incursions and rapid response operations, both of which imply the use of special forces, whether those be US forces, local or private on the triple borderland."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Once permanent, such a presence will also put the American troops in control of a huge amount territory where cocaine is processed, just as has Afghanistan, in the control of the opium poppy business, given various US alpha-bet soup agencies the ability to finance off-the-books operations which have zero Congressional oversight.

At UN, US warns of potential security threat from Venezuela

The United States hopes that a meeting next week at the United Nations on Venezuela will pave the way to international action to prevent the crisis from turning into a security threat, according to a US document sent to the Security Council on Friday.

US Ambassador Nikki Haley will chair the informal council meeting on Monday held as Venezuela, already reeling from political and economic crises, teeters on the brink of default.

"The international community needs to work collectively to address the unfolding crisis and its humanitarian impact in Venezuela and beyond before it worsens and potentially develops into a threat to international peace and security," the US mission said in the document obtained by AFP.

Webmaster's Commentary:

U.S. Imposes Oil Blockade to Force Venezuela into Default

The U.S. is betting on the default of Venezuela affecting its financial credibility and hampering its debt repayments.

While continuing the commercial and financial embargo and the systematic attack on PDVSA, it was revealed at the start of November that imports of Venezuelan oil to the United States this year have declined to 56 percent compared to last year. This multi-pronged attack that this state industry is facing as the main foreign exchange earner of the country, has been run by a network of internal allies, many of whom have been detained by the Public Prosecutor's Office in recent months. This was after the former Attorney General Luisa Ortega Diaz became a key factor in allowing the continuity of these mafias to operate within the company.

In addition to corruption and internal sabotage, PDVSA is facing a series of sanctions for the issuance of debt, which has also complicated transactions with U.S. refineries for the purchase of crude oil.>>>

Venezuela Officially Declared In Default

Today at 11am, the ISDA Determinations Committee sits down to decide whether an event of default has occurred due to the delayed principal payment on the Petroleos de Venezuela SA, or PDVSA, bond that matured Nov. 2, in the process triggering PDVSA (and perhaps Venezuela) CDS, and officially declaring Venezuela in default.

We won't have to wait that long: moments ago, Wilmington Trust, the Trustee of the 8.5% bonds due 2018, issued by Corpoelec, Venezuela's electricity company, declared that the missed interest payment originally due October 10, and whose 30 day grace period expired on November 9, and for which no pament was sent or received, officially constitutes an event of default.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wrote about the steady erosion of the middle class yesterday, and health insurance is one of the main reasons why the cost of living is increasing at a much faster rate than our paychecks are. Four newly-elected opposition governors pledged allegiance to Venezuela's Constituent Assembly, which until now they had dismissed as illegitimate, authorities said. The governors broke with their coalition's official position to swear themselves in before a pro-government legislative superbody, in a major setback for Venezuela's opposition, TRT World reported. The Democratic Unity coalition went into the October 15 gubernatorial polls as favourites for a big win due to voter anger at a brutal economic crisis in the OPEC member, but it ended up only taking just five of 23 states. Initially alleging fraud at the election, the opposition later acknowledged abstentionism in its ranks played a big part in the defeat, which cast into question its ability to beat the ruling Socialist Party at next year's presidential vote.

US Regime Change in Venezuela: The Truth Is Easy if You Follow the Money Trail. The Opposition is Pro-Washington, Not “Pro-Democracy”

MADURO VISITS PUTIN, PROPOSES GLOBAL OIL TRADE IN RUBLES, YUAN

Three weeks after the US imposed financial sanctions on Venezuela in an effort to cripple its economy and choke the Maduro regime, which in turn prompted Caracas to announce it would no longer receive or send payments in dollars, and that those who wished to trade Venezuelan crude would have to do so in Chinese Yuan, today during an energy summit held in Moscow, Venezuela's president Nicolas Maduro proposed to expand his own personal blockade of the US, by proposing that all oil producing countries discuss creating a currency basket for trading crude and refined products. One which is no longer reliant on the (petro)dollar.

“Developing a new mechanism of controlling the oil market is necessary,” Maduro said on Wednesday at the Russian Energy Forum, being held in Moscow this week.

What Does the Sale of Venezuelan Oil in Currencies Other Than the US Dollar Mean?

The petrodollar is more important for US global domination than either arms exports or Hollywood culture, because it allows the US to be the biggest exporter of the dollar bills the rest of the world, which needs to be able to buy oil. Venezuela has decided to start de-dollarizing its economy. To understand what this means, it’s necessary to look at the geopolitical context in which the move takes place. After President Nicolas Maduro announced last Thursday that every business signing contracts with the Venezuelan State should do so in a foreign currency other than the US dollar, Vice President Tareck El Aissami sought to ensure the country’s productive sector gets the necessary mechanisms via public and private banks to be able to migrate to a new basket of foreign currencies.

U.S. not ruling out possible oil embargo on Venezuela: Haley

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said on Thursday a range of options remained on the table, including a possible oil embargo, if Venezuela did not move to restore its democratic processes.

“There’s a lot of support in Latin America to see Venezuela start to respect its people and go back to the democracy it’s supposed to be,” she told reporters. “If things don’t improve, all those options are always there,” Haley added, saying specifically that the possibility of an oil embargo remained.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As reported by ap.com on 10 August, 2017:

But even as the list of targeted individuals grows longer, promised economic sanctions have yet to materialize amid an outcry by the United States oil industry that a potential ban on petroleum imports from Venezuela – the third-largest supplier to the US – would hurt US jobs and drive up gas costs.

So the oil embargo suggested by Ambassador Haley is going to mess considerably with the American econony, yet she seems gung ho to do this, to achieve the Trump Administration's geopolitical objective of regime change in Caracas, and having Venezuelan oil ultimately sold only in US dollars?!?

Such a plan sounds absolutely as though it will be of no actual help to either the American or Venezuelan people; but of great help to the massive US oil companies, and the banks.

By 2020, the country must repay 30% of the external debt due to expire in the next 23 years."

Among other things we warned that "default seems inevitable in the medium term due to the prolonged period of low oil prices and increased US sanctions. Miners Who Boasted About Massacring Amazon Tribe Now Under Investigation

According to Survival International, a London-based organization that advocates for indigenous rights, at least ten members of an uncontacted tribe in Brazil’s Amazon Basin were supposedly killed last month by illegal gold miners along the River Jandiatuba in western Brazil.

Brazilian authorities have started an investigation of the gold miners after they were overheard bragging about the slaughter of the members at a bar in a nearby town.

Someone recorded the bar talk and Funai, the National Indian Foundation in Brazil, filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office in the state of the Amazonas.
