U.S. Retreats From Al-Tanf – Gives Up on Occupying South East Syria

The U.S. plan was to move from al-Tanf north towards the Euphrates river and to thereby capture and control the whole south-east of Syria. But Syria and its allies made an unexpected move and prevented that plan. The invaders are now cut off from the Euphrates by a Syrian west-to-east line that ends at the Iraqi border. On the Iraqi side elements of the Popular Military Unites under the command of the Iraqi government are moving to meet the Syrian forces at the border. The U.S. invaders are now sitting in the mid of a piece of rather useless desert around al-Tanf where their only option is to die of boredom or to move back to Jordan from where they came.

Russian Foreign Ministry: OPCW’s report on Syria based on very doubtful data

Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed on Friday that the report of the Special Mission of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on Syria is based on highly questionable data.

“Unfortunately, we are forced to state on the first reading of the document that its conclusions are still based on very doubtful data,” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s information and press department said.

The ministry added that the OPCW’s data was “obtained from the same opposition and the same notorious NGOs of the White Helmet type, and not at the site of the tragedy but in a certain ‘neighboring country’.”

Make No Mistake, We Are Already at War in Syria

The war began in earnest when the Obama administration began building bases and sending Special Ops into Syria in the late summer of 2015, after the White House announced that it would “allow airstrikes to defend Syrian rebels trained by the U.S. military from any attackers, even if the enemies hail from forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.”

What are Washington’s stakes in the Syrian conflict?

Washington’s interest in the Syrian civil war is partly about ensuring Israel’s regional security and partly it is about doing the bidding of America’s regional Sunni allies: Turkey, Jordan and the Gulf Arab States. Saudi Arabia which has been vying for power as the leader of the Sunni bloc against the Shi’a-dominated Iran in the regional geopolitics was staunchly against the invasion of Iraq by the Bush Administration in 2003.

6 Trigger Points: How the Conflict Between the United States and Iran Is Fast Escalating Toward War

The long-simmering conflict between the United States and Iran is fast escalating toward war. The battlefield is the desert expanse of eastern Syria where civil war has raged for the last five years. Tehran wants to keep U.S. forces out of the area, while Washington wants to use the region to wage war against Iran’s ally, Syria.

After 15 years of unsuccessful war in Afghanistan and Iraq, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the Trump administration is pursuing a policy of "regime change" in Iran that might lead to a third U.S. ground war in the Middle East since 2001.

Restraint is breaking down. While President Obama resisted U.S. involvement in the Syrian civil war, Trump has approved it. While Obama pursued dialog with Iran, Trump has embraced the new Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, who laid down his country’s new, harsher line in April. ‘We will not wait until the battle is in Saudi Arabia," he said, "but we will work so the battle is there in Iran."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The short answer to that last question is, undoubtedly, yes.

But there is, in the Iran War scenario, the 6,000 lb gorilla, draped over the Bosendorfer, and snoozing for the moment; that 6,000 lb gorilla is Russia, which has promised, through the last decades, to come to Iran's aid, militarily, should it be attacked.

War with Russia over Syria and Iran?!? The thought of this is nothing more than sheer, absolute, foaming at the mouth, dog-mad insanity; and yet, that ...appears to be the direction in which the US government and military are headed here.

This is reckless in the extreme, and I say this because at this moment in the US's military preparedness, it does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia, so the timing is utterly insane.

Russia has been making incredible strides, recently, in its weapons capability:

The F-35 program is once again in trouble, with full flight tests delayed until at least 2018

The F-35 Is a $1.4 Trillion Dollar National Disaster

Is the F-35 a trillion dollar mistake?!?

The F-35 won't have a real chance in combat

The F-35, amazingly, has even more problems than we thought

You catch my drift here. The US government and military has to spend smarter on its weapons and fighter programs; not just necessarily spend more money here.

American weapons manufacturers have to be disabused of the notion that whatever they produce, even if it doesn't function at all in the field, is still acceptable to the American government and military, and will ultimately paid for by US taxpayers.

In fact, some hard jail time for executives of corporations which fail to deliver as advertised, might go a long way toward curing the problem.

Flashback: Ron Paul, former congressman, says ‘zero chance’ Assad gassed Syrians

“Trump said let the Syrians decide who should run their country, and peace talks were making out, and Al Qaeda and ISIS were on the run,” he added, the latter being an alternative name for the Islamic State terror group.

“The blame now is we can’t let that happen because it looks like it might benefit Assad,” the former Texas congressman continued. “It’s not so easy though, is it? What happened four years ago in 2013, you know, this whole thing about crossing the red line? Ever since then, the neocons have been yelling and screaming, a part of the administration has been yelling and screaming about Assad using poison gas.”

According to Mr. Paul, “it doesn’t make any sense for Assad under these conditions to all of a sudden use poisonous gases.

“I think there is a zero chance he would have done, you know, this deliberately,” he added.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JUNE 30, 2017: GOVERNMENT ADVANCE AGAINST ISIS

Syrian government forces, backed up by the Russian Aerospace Forces, have fully secured the important village of Humaima following about a week of clashes with ISIS terrorists in the border area with Iraq. The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies continued advancing in the direction of the T2 pumping station in southern Deir Ezzor.

Meanwhile, some pro-government media spread rumors that US-led coalition troops may leave their garrisons in At Tanf and al-Zquf. However, this seems unlikely in the nearest future because the garrisons in the area allow the coalition to control a chunk of the Syrian borders with Jordan and Iraq.

The SAA Tiger Forces, Liwa al-Quds and the National Defense Forces made gains against ISIS east of the Ithriyah-Khanasir road. Government troops have liberated the villages of Al-Shreima, Jadidah and Rasm Askar as well as several strategic hills east of Khansir.

General: US Troops ‘Just Getting Started Good’ in Raqqa

US commander Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend today told CBS News that he believes only about 25-30% of the military campaign for the ISIS capital city of Raqqa has happened, talking up the massive US military buildup in the area, and insisting that US troops are “just getting started good” in the city’s invasion.

This is all happening without the permission of the Syrian government, of course, but Townsend downplayed the risk of clashes with Syria or Russia over that fact, saying that he believes they’re comfortable with focusing on the rest of the country while the US invades Raqqa, and that he doesn’t anticipate any conflicts.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, General Townsend speaks English as a second language, which comes rather as a surprise to me; to characterise the activities of US troops as “just getting started good” is a little unnerving.

If his thought processes are as sloppy as is his English, we are in deep trouble in this immoral and illegal invasion of Syria.

Unfortunately, it is only a question of time before there is a military clash between the US/Syrian/Russian forces.

Russia has warned us that any attack on any Syrian/Russian aircraft by the US military will bring a "proportional response". The potential for a full-scale war between the US and Russia over Syria remains as serious as a heart attack right now.

Flashback: Something is Not Adding Up In Idlib Chemical Weapons Attack

Therefore, it is completely unsurprising that Orient TV has already prepared a “media campaign” to cover the Russian and Syrian airstrikes in neighbouring Hama countryside against terrorist forces, with the allegations that the airforces have been using chemical weapons. And most telling, their announcement of covering the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government, hours before this allegation even emerged…….. Seems like someone forgot to tell him that it would not occur for a few more hours before his tweet.

Flashback - REPORT: SOROS-LINKED GROUP BEHIND CHEMICAL ATTACK IN SYRIA

The White Helmets, an al-Qaeda affiliated group funded by George Soros and the British government, have reportedly staged another chemical weapon attack on civilians in the Syrian city of Khan Shaykhun to lay blame on the Syrian government.

A day prior to the attack, Gulf-based Orient TV announced “Tomorrow we are launching a media campaign to cover the airstrikes on Hama country side including the usage of chemical warfare against civilians.” This shows clear foreknowledge that the rebels were going to stage an attack by Orient TV.

The White Helmets filmed much of the footage being released on the chemical attack. They have also been known to stage “rescue” videos in the past. However, this time it appears children were indeed killed in the making of this “media campaign.”

Ex-Weapons Inspector: Trump’s Sarin Claims Built on ‘Lie’

The lack of any meaningful fact-based information to back up the claims of the White Helmets and those who sustain them, like the U.S. government and Bellingcat, raises serious questions about the viability of the White House’s latest pronouncements on Syria and allegations that it was preparing for a second round of chemical attacks. If America has learned anything from its painful history with Iraq and the false allegations of continued possession of weapons of mass destruction on the part of the regime of Saddam Hussein, it is that to rush into military conflict in the Middle East based upon the unsustained allegations of an interested regional party (i.e., Ahmed Chalabi and the Iraqi National Congress) is a fool’s errand.

US-Backed Syrian Fighters Warn of Open Warfare with Turkish Forces

An official with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the coalition of US-backed militants with the stated goal of creating a secular, democratic, federalized Syria, said that the SDF sees a "big possibility of open, fierce confrontation" with Turkish forces in northwestern Syria. This comes after the two sides exchanged fire on Wednesday.

The senior official, Naser Haj Mansour, told Reuters that the SDF would confront the Turks "if they try to go beyond the known lines." Turkish forces are there to support anti-government, primarily Islamist Syrian rebels.

Mansour went on to say that a Turkish attack against SDF-controlled areas would do "great harm" to the SDF's efforts against Daesh. The two factions are currently embroiled in a struggle over the city of Raqqa, Daesh's primary stronghold in Syria.

Trump’s Chaos is Covering for Stealth Escalation Overseas

The escalation directly contradicts Trump’s stances during the election campaign. Back then, he indicated his skepticism of regime change, claiming — falsely — that he had opposed the Iraq invasion and denouncing the intervention in Libya. He indicated that he saw no reason to take sides in the Syrian civil war, suggesting that perhaps the United States could join with Syria and its ally Russia to take out the Islamic State. He promised he would “bomb the s--- out of ISIS” but would not get bogged down in the Middle East. This stance appealed strongly to voters weary of war and looking for a leader who would focus on our challenges here at home. That promise has now clearly been trashed.

Mattis: Syria Fight Will Only Get More Complicated After Raqqa Is Captured

While US officials have for months been presenting the invasion of Raqqa as the end-all, be-all battle against ISIS, they’ve also been preparing the public for the idea of attacking the “next ISIS capital,” and so on. Secretary of Defense James Mattis was even more direct, predicting that the situation would be even more complex after the fall of Raqqa.

“You have to play this thing very carefully,” Mattis insisted, saying it would become harder and harder to keep the various factions fighting against ISIS from getting into “incidents” against one another, while talking of continued support for the Kurdish YPG.

The “incidents” in question have mostly been US warplanes attacking Shi’ite militias, and shooting down the occasional warplane or drone aligned with the Syrian government. Though the US has claimed they “welcome” Syrian offensives against ISIS, they’ve continued to attack them every time they get close.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec Def Mattis, a word, please: Russia's Sergei Ryabkovhas warned that any further US incursion military into the sovereign nation of Syria will have ...consequences.

Russia warns US its fighter jets are now potential target in Syria

I would like to politely point out that Russia has been invited by the Syrian government and military to get rid of the jihadists; military from the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America have not been invited to do so.

What the US government has done here, no matter the cloddishly clumsy spin about "fighting ISIS", has been to invade a sovereign country on a horrifically flimsy pretext, in order to attempt regime change in Damascus.

And yesterday, the US Ambassador to the UN made the following, breathtaking statement at the UN:

US envoy Nikki Haley: No place for Assad in post-ISIS Syria

Sir, what can that statement possibly mean except as a neon-orange, brightly blinking light, telegraphing that the US government is planning to create regime change in Damascus, coming close on the heels of ousting ISIS in Raqqa?!?

IS a war with Russia over Syria really worth it, in the larger scheme of things?!?

The strike hit a facility that may have contained chemicals such as chlorine and fertilizer that would have produced a cloud as well as neurological symptoms in victims that could be mistaken for sarin.

Demand for Russian Warships Skyrockets Amid Syria Campaign

International demand for Russian warships has been picking up since the start of Russia’s military operation in Syria, President Putin’s adviser on military-technical cooperation with foreign countries, Vladimir Kozhin, told reporters on Monday.

“Everyone sees the great job our ships are doing there. Our ships are in high demand, especially frigates and corvettes,” Kozhin said, when asked how the impact Russia’s operation in Syria has had on the export of Russian naval ships.

“We have also seen an uptick in foreign demand for our high-speed boats, coastal defense systems and small boats equipped with drones,” Vladimir Kozhin added.

"The Russian Navy's Admiral Essen, Admiral Grigorovich frigates and Krasnodar submarine launched six Kalibr cruise missiles from the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea on Daesh terrorist group targets in Syria," the ministry said in a statement.

The statement noted that the Krasnodat submarine carried out a submerged launch of the missiles.

Former top military and intelligence officials – including many who warned against the faulty Iraq intelligence in advance of the Iraq war – have long said that the claims that Assad carried out the chemical weapons attacks was bunkum.

US FALSE FLAG THREATS AGAINST SYRIA DESIGNED TO PREVENT TRUMP/PUTIN MEETING

In just over a week, the G20 summit of nations is to convene in Germany.

This will be the first time that Donald Trump and President Putin will have been in the same room and many are suggesting that the two will meet on the sidelines of the main summit as world-leaders often do at such events.

Many in the generally unreliable western mainstream media are suggesting that Donald Trump is keen to meet Vladimir Putin at the G20 but that some US advisers to POTUS do not want the meeting to happen. It must be made clear that such reports are totally uncorroborated and are coming from sources such as Britain’s notoriously inaccurate and dishonest Independent.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At this moment, the Trump Administration appears to be badly factionalised, and it does not appear that President Trump is fully in control of America's foreign policy; that needs to change, and quickly.

But if I could, for one moment, have President Trump's ear, I would tell him this; your meeting with Russia's President Putin at the G-20 in Hamburg is critical for peace in this world.

Without this meeting, the US government and military may well continue to slouch toward war with Russia over Syria, and this would be an even worse military misadventure than has been Afghanistan.

And President Trump, please know this; although President Putin may use a translator, his English is perfect; he will understand every nuance of every word you say to him even without it being translated into Russian.

Syrian Army about to Annihilate ISIL

The experts all agree that the war against Islamic State in Syria and Iraq has entered it’s final phase, that IS is finished militarily and it is only a matter of time before they are defeated.

The Pentagon’s own experts know this as well as anyone and it has them deeply concerned as the defeat of IS would mean the derailing of the agenda to destroy Syria and Iraq, breaking them into smaller states that can be easily controlled.

It is the desire to keep this agenda on track that is driving the US efforts in Syria to forestall the advance of Syrian forces and their allies by ramping up US forces and pumping arms and supplies to the ‘coalition allies’ or ‘Syrian opposition’ or whatever other euphemism for mercenaries is in fashion these days.

URGENT: Unusual Flights of US Spying Planes over Syrian Coasts

The Arabic-language al-Mayadeen quoted well-informed sources as saying that a US navy's P-8A Poseidon spy plane has been spotted flying over Syria's coastal line along Eastern Mediterranean Sea.

The sources told al-Mayadeen that the US aerial operation to gather information along Syria's coastal regions has unusually increased in recent days, adding that unusual operation of the US reconnaissance flights show that the US army is paving the ground for carrying out a new move in the region.

The Spokesperson for the United States administration accused Syria of preparing to stage a chemical attack in the Arab country, threatening that Washington would make Damascus pay “a heavy price.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, these reports are true, the timing, and the increase, of these recon flights concerns me greatly, after the debacle of Trump and his minions accusing the Syrian government of wanting to do more chemical attacks against their own people.

I have to wonder if Trump, Mattis, and Tillerson are actually contemplating a decap strike against Damascus, coupled with an attempted regime change, and soon; such an act would be fraught with horrific risks, because Putin has declared that any such a move would mean that Russia would be at war with the United States.

Trump plays "Nuclear Chicken" with Putin over Syria.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JUNE 28, 2017: US LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN TO JUSTIFY MILITARY ACTION AGAINST SYRIA

The US is actively preparing public opinion for a direct military aggression against Syria. The White House claimed on Monday that it has a “potential” evidence that the Bashar Assad government was preparing for another chemical weapons attack that “would likely result if the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children.” Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that if “Mr. Assad conducts another mass murder attack using chemical weapons, he and his military will pay a heavy price.” US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley further accused Russia and Iran for any future “chemical attacks” that may take place in Syria. However, no evidence was provided.

Moscow warns Washington against ‘incendiary, provocative action’ in Syria

Moscow has warned the US against taking unilateral action in Syria, as there is no threat from the Syrian military, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said. The statement comes after the US accused Syria of preparing for a chemical attack, without giving any evidence.

Asked if Russia had warned the US administration against any unilateral action in Syria, Russia’s deputy foreign minister, Gennady Gatilov, replied that Russian officials have “always spoken about that, including in relation to their [US] latest strikes on Syrian armed forces.”

“We believe that it’s unacceptable and breaches Syria’s sovereignty, isn’t caused by any military need, and there is no threat to the US specialists from the Syrian Army. So it’s incendiary, provocative action,” Gatilov said, as cited by RIA Novosti.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would strongly suspect that those in the bowels of the American Deep State caught enough flak from literally telegraphing that they were going to create a false flag in Syria, to be blamed on Syria, Iran, and Russia, that it reluctantly backed down from doing so.

But don't think they won't try something else, and in the very near future, because the loyal Al-Assad military is winning the war against ISIS on the ground.

Trump Plays Nuclear ‘Chicken’ with Putin Over Syria

U.S. President Donald Trump is playing a game of nuclear “chicken” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, regarding Putin’s threat on June 19th to go to war against the United States if the U.S. again shoots down, inside Syria — in the sovereign territory of the internationally-recognized-as-legal sovereign Syrian government — Syrian aircraft, or the aircraft of any of the foreign governments that have allied with Syria: Russia, Iran, and China.
After the U.S. had shot down a Syrian government plane on June 19th, which was bombing jihadists whom the U.S. government backs in order to overthrow the Syrian government, Russia announced:

“In areas where Russian aviation is conducting combat missions in the Syrian skies, any flying objects, including jets and unmanned aerial vehicles of the international coalition discovered west of the Euphrates River, will be followed by Russian air and ground defenses as air targets” — meaning ordered out, or else immediately shot down.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word please: I would suggest that you take this statement by Russia's President Putin as seriously as you would a heart attack.

The guy is not known for bluff or bluster, and if he says something, he will, inevitably, follow through.

I strongly encourage you to meet him in Hamburg for the G-20, and spend some time to get to know him; whatever chance of salvaging peace on this planet may well depend on it, Mr. President.

US Baits ISIS to Stage False-Flag Chemical Attack to Justify Greater US Attack against Syria

Syrian president visits Russian-run air base in Latakia

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has paid a visit to a Russian-run air base in the country’s western coastal province of Latakia, from which Russian fighter jets conduct airstrikes against Daesh terrorists and foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants.

The Syrian leader inspected a single-seat, twin-engine and super-maneuverable Sukhoi SU-35 fighter jet as well as armored vehicles at Hmeimim base southeast of the provincial capital city of Latakia on Tuesday, and met with a number of Russian military commanders there, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported.

Mattis: US Will Keep Arming Syrian Kurds After Raqqa Falls

In comments that are doubtless going to further anger Turkey about US policy in Syria, Defense Secretary James Mattis insisted the current program of arming the Kurdish YPG faction would not end after the capture of the ISIS capital city of Raqqa, and that they might just change the sort of weapons they’re giving the Kurds after that.

This comes less than a week after the US had assured the Turkish government that not only would the US stop arming the Kurds after the defeat of ISIS, but that they’d then take all the weapons back from the Kurds at that point. Mattis appeared to downplay the chances of this, however, saying only that “we’ll do what we can” to recover the arms.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Erdogan has to know that Mattis is powerless to prevent the Kurds from hanging on to those weapons.

Pentagon, State Dept ‘Clueless’ on Trump’s Assad Allegation

Last night, the White House issued a surprise statement accusing the Syrian government of preparing a chemical weapons attack and threatening to make them pay “a heavy price” for doing so. This immediately suggested another US attack on Syria was imminent. No one saw this coming, including the Pentagon and the State Department.

Pentagon officials say they were totally unaware if this putative evidence of a chemical attack until the moment the White House issued the statement, something they completely didn’t see coming. The State Department, which would normally be involved in coordinating such an important press release, also wasn’t consulted.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am very concerned about the next week or so, from the 4th of July celebration next Tuesday, through the G-20 summit in Hamburg, Germany on the 7th and 8th of next month.

I think we could very well see a false flag happen in this timeframe, to be blamed on Syria, as the "justification" for a full-on US invasion of the country, to achieve regime change in Damascus.

Of course, the White House's and Nikki Haley's charges bear two areas of intense scrutiny.

First, why would Al-Assad do something this stupid, i.e., a chemical attack against his own people, when his troops are actually winning on the ground?

And secondly, weren't Syria's chemical weapons destroyed several years back through a Russian-brokered, UN supervised program several years ago?!?

If, in fact, these accusations were a just "test run" to see how the American people would react to such an action, I would be willing to bet bet that the overnight polls were overwhelmingly negative.

U.S. defense secretary says Syria appears to have heeded U.S. warning on chemical attack

Syria appears to have heeded a U.S. warning against staging any new chemical weapons attack as no such action has been launched, U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said on Wednesday. "It appears that they took the warning seriously," Mattistold reporters flying with him to Brussels for a meeting of NATOdefence ministers. "They didn't do it."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mattis taking credit for stopping Syria's 'chemical attack' by Al-Assad...An attack that wasn't there to begin with.

Basically, the government realized nobody was buying this bullshit and that any gas attack would be a US false-flag, so they had to back off, and this is how Mattis is trying to save face.

Trump, Macron to pursue 'common response' in Syria

President Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron vowed to pursue a "common response" to the Assad regime in Syria in the event of another chemical weapons attack, the French government said Tuesday after the two leaders spoke.

"The purpose of the meeting was to prepare for the bilateral meeting of the two presidents during the G20 meeting in Hamburg on 7 and 8 July," the Elysee Palace said in a statement about the phone call between Trump and Macron.

"They also took stock of the Syrian issue and the need to work towards a common response to a chemical attack in Syria," the statement continued. "The two presidents spoke about the situation in the Gulf and the need to avoid any escalation in the region. Both stressed that the fight against terrorism and its financing is a common challenge for all the countries of the region."

US May Be Preparing for 'Preemptive Strike' on Syria Amid Chemical Weapons Claim

The United States might be preparing for a "preemptive" attack on Syrian government troops as the White House warned of a possible chemical attack allegedly planned by Damascus, senior Russian lawmaker Konstantin Kosachev said Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, the White House claimed that Washington had identified "potential preparations" for a chemical attack by Syrian President Bashar Assad’s forces.

The Kremlin commented on the claims and said that it considers US' threats against Syrian legitimate leadership to be "unacceptable." Damascus also denied the information.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think the Russian analysis, presented here at sputniknews.com, is completely reasonable.

We are most likely looking at an horrific false flag operation, courtesy of the US military and various Us alphabet soup agencies in Syria, to be blamed on the Syrian government, as the justification for a full-scale invasion of Syria, in order to attempt regime change in Damascus.

But the questions I would have to ask about such a scenario are:

1. Why would al-Assad do this when his troops are winning against ISIS on the Ground?!?

2. Weren't Syria's chemical weapons completely destroyed under a Russian brokered, and UN-supervised program several years ago?!?

Of course, such an invasion most probably means war with Russia, but what does the American Deep State care about the good of We the People?!? The short answer is, absolutely nothing.

They have their elaborate bunkers, and top of the line survival gear in hand; the rest of us can just die of radiation sickness, and they won't give a damn.

This... is officially insane, and the fact that the US government collectively thinks, for one millisecond, that the American people would believe this codswallop, demonstrates that they have learned utterly nothing from having lied this country into the the military misadventures which are still with us, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Hersh’s new Syria revelations buried from view

Paradoxically, over the past decade, as social media has created a more democratic platform for information dissemination, the corporate media has grown ever more fearful of a truly independent figure like Hersh. The potential reach of his stories could now be enormously magnified by social media. As a result, he has been increasingly marginalised and his work denigrated. By denying him the credibility of a “respectable” mainstream platform, he can be dismissed for the first time in his career as a crank and charlatan. A purveyor of fake news.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. Hersh, should you want to take us up on it, you would always be welcome to post your articles here at WRH.

Mike and I have a great deal of respect for your work, over the years, and understand, full well, the courage it takes not to ape the government's "party line" when there is a specific agenda they wish to accomplish, and the consequences of "not playing along", even when such an agenda is 100% fact free.

White House Appears to Be Planning Attack on Assad

Raising speculation that the US is about to attack Syria again, the White House has issued a statement late this evening accusing the Assad government in Syria of conducting “potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack,” claiming that such an attack would involve the “mass murder of civilians, including innocent children.”

The late night report was extremely light on details, but threatened to make Syria’s government and military “pay a heavy price,” suggesting that the statement was only issued to lay the groundwork for a new round of US attacks on Syrian government targets.

The US last attacked Syria in earnest in early April, firing 49 cruise missiles at a Syrian air base. The attack was carried out despite reports ultimately showing that the US intelligence community found no evidence a chemical weapon attack took place.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word please: that you could possibly believe, for one second, that Americans would swallow this codswallop whole, is a singularly nasty insult to the intelligence of your American brothers and sisters.

We were lied into wars against Afghanistan and Iraq; we will NOT, thank you very much, be lied into a war against Syria, over any kind of horrific false flag this government, and most probably Israel, may be conjuring against it right now.

I would very much like to politely remind you, and the American people, that just because an action would be the most pig-headedly, ham-fistedly stupid thing the American government could do, is utterly no guarantee that it won't do it.

War against Syria most probably means a war against Russia; and right now, Mr. President, the American military doesn't have the money; the weaponry; the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

Right now, you really need to be listening to those voices in your inner circle advocating against such a rash action; they are the voices of reason, and the voices for the good of We the People.

Trump Involvement In Syria Missile Strike Is A Red Herring: It Was Always The Deep State

By Brandon Turbeville

On June 25, veteran journalist Seymour Hersh released a bombshell article revealing a number of facets regarding the alleged chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun, Syria and the resulting volley of Tomahawk missiles fired by the United States at the al-Sha’aryat airbase in response. Hersh’s article provides the reader with what many of us already knew and wrote about at the time; i.e. that the Syrian military did not conduct a chemical weapons attack and that the United States was fully aware of that fact. Still, the U.S. government opted to use the attack as a justification for launching 59 Tomahawk missiles at a Syrian airbase that resulted in the deaths of Syrian soldiers, civilians, and children from the nearby village...

HALEY SAYS WARNING TO SYRIA ALSO AIMED AT RUSSIA AND IRAN

A warning from the White House to Syrian President Bashar Assad about another possible chemical weapons attack was also aimed at two of Assad's key backers, Russia and Iran, the U.S ambassador to the United Nations said Tuesday.

During testimony before the House panel on foreign operations, Nikki Haley also called Assad "barbaric" and said she can't envision a "healthy Syria" if he remains in power.

"The goal is at this point not just to send Assad a message, but to send Russia and Iran a message," Haley said. "That if this happens again, we are putting you on notice. My hope is that the president's warning will certainly get Iran and Russia to take a second look, and I hope that it will caution Assad."

US-led coalition must stop ‘very dangerous game’ of sparing Al-Nusra in Syria – Lavrov

Russian FM Sergey Lavrov has accused the US-led anti-terrorist coalition of being reluctant to bomb positions of the former Al-Nusra Front in Syria, and has urged them to ditch "double standards" for the sake of an “uncompromising” fight against terrorism.

"There is a strong impression, based on our fight with terrorism in Syria, that the so-called Al-Nusra [Front], or whatever it is called now, is every time spared by the coalition forces headed by the United States and its allies," Lavrov said, speaking at a press conference in Moscow.

The foreign minister went on to say that "new evidence has emerged in the past few days" indicating that the US-led international forces continue "to take the heat off" the former Al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Foreign Minister Lavrov, a word please.

Thinking Americans (who have utterly zero control over the foreign policy of the Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika) understand fully that the US government has been supporting ISIS all along, in order to effect regime change in Damascus.

Why is the US supporting ISIS in Syria while opposing it in Iraq?

Syria accuses Israel and the US of supporting ISIS

Russia, Turkey accuse the US of supporting ISIS in Syria

The US continues to support ISIS in Syria

Al Assad is right:
the US Air Force is Supporting ISIS attacks in Syria and Iraq.

And today, the US Ambassador to the UN made the following, absolutely astonishingly stupid claim:

The White House announced late Monday that Syria may be planning another chemical weapons attack that “will likely result in the mass murder of civilians.” In a statement released on Monday night, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said the U.S. had found “potential” evidence that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was preparing to conduct an attack similar to the one carried out on April 4 that killed dozens of civilians, including children. “The United States has identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime that would likely result in the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children,” the statement said. “The activities are similar to preparations the regime made before its April 4, 2017 chemical weapons attack.” “If … Mr. Assad conducts another mass murder attack using chemical weapons, he and his military will pay a heavy price,” the statement warned.

The article then went on to say: "United States ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley noted on Monday Assad's two main military backers, Russia and Iran, would share responsibility for any further attacks against Syrian civilians."

I am certain you noted the following article, written by the award-winning journalist, Seymour Hersh, who I respect highly, in which he stated the following:

Seymour Hersh: Trump Ignored Intelligence On Syrian Chemical Attack, Bombed Anyway

What we have here, Foreign Minister Lavrov, is an absolute recipe for global catastrophe, and a world war.

We have a smart, but highly impulsive, and highly naive President in Trump; unfortunately, he appears to have been completely absorbed by the American Deep State, since his inauguration.

The Deep State is looking for any excuse to start a war against Russia and China, to deflect the rise of the ruble and Chinese yuan away from the dollar, and use that war as a distraction, and potentially, the excuse, for the coming economic crash in this country.

So what Ambassador Haley and the White House are telegraphing, in these statements, is that they are willing to create a "false flag" in Syria, as a the "justification" for going in and attempting to create regime change in Damascus, then attempting to do it in Iran, which is desperately going to need your military backing to prevent this from happening.

That they think Americans are so utterly stupid as to swallow this codswallop whole, is an absolute insult. The American public are war-weary and war-skeptical, after the US government's horrific military misadventures in Afghanistan and Iraq.

So I really want someone in this administration to tell me, with a straight face, why Assad would even think about doing this now, when he is winning on the ground in Syria; and the short answer is, he wouldn't. And BTW, where are those chemical weapons Ambassador Haley alleges the Syrian government is just ITCHING to use?!?

Do I not remember Russia brokering a deal several years back, in which Syria destroyed all of its chemical weapons, under UN supervision?!?

The Destruction of Syria's chemical weapons

In short, Minister Lavrov, the Deep State of the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America is desperately attempting to "groom" the American public for another, horrific war, which the American people do not want, nor can they afford, at any level.

The future of the Syrian people...should belong to the Syrian people, and not some outside agency of forced regime change, to the supposed benefit of Israel and the US.

I am watching, in the most sang froid, analytical way, the massive uptick of the demonisation of Russia in the US corporate, presstitute media, in a way which is trying to paint your country as the most evil, rotten nation on the planet; again, sir, thinking Americans understand that this is not the case.

You, and President Putin, have been the "poster children" for rational, reasonable resolution of geopolitical differences between countries, and I laud both of you for that.

I truly wish... I could honestly say the same thing about the leadership of my country, but honestly cannot.

‘Israeli attacks on Syrian forces embolden terrorists to draw more fire’

The decision by Israel to respond militarily every time there is spillover from fighting between Syria pro-government forces and the terrorists cannot lead to anything good, John Bosnitch, political commentator, told RT.

It was the second time the Israel Defense Forces bombed Syrian government troops in the area in two days after munitions accidentally landed on the Israeli side of the border.

Syria warns Israel of 'dangerous repercussions for aggressive action'

Syrian army issues statement following IDF response to Syrian missile spillover, calling Israeli actions motivated 'a desperate attempt to boost morale' and warning 'Israeli enemy' of consequences.

The Syrian army warned Israel on Sunday of the "dangerous repercussions" of its "aggressive activities" after the IDF retaliated against spillover fire in the Golan Heights for the second day in a row.

After the Syrian army forces managed to thwart the wide-scale attack of terrorist al-Nusra … the Israeli enemy continued today to attack one of our military stations, in a desperate attempt to support terrorist organizations and boost their low morale," read a statement from the army of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's look at a map of the Israeli/Syrian border:

Map: Israeli/Syrian Border

Now, let's take a look at the Map of Eretz Israel, or "Greater Israel", which many Zionists in the Israeli government want to bring to fruition:

Image: Eretz Israel, or greater Israel, stretching from the Tigris to the Euphrates Rivers

Notice that hunks of Syria; Lebanon; Egypt; Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, get gobbled up in this redrawing of borders in the Middle East?!?

In the military hot mess which characterises the wars in Syria, it is not impossible that Israel's civilian and military infrastructure saw their bombings in Syria as a calculated risk, to see how much of the country it could potentially "chew off", and declare its own, beyond the Golan Heights, before the dust settles.

And we see some confirmation of that possibility in the following article, posted on last Saturday, from the timesofisrael.com:

Liberman: The Assad Regime will Continue to Suffer the Consequences of their Attacks

I would like to hope that Russia's Putin and Lavrov are telling their Israeli counterparts, in no uncertain terms, that these bombings must stop, or else there will be consequences, courtesy of the Russian military.

The victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential elections last November raised the Russian leadership' hopes of improving Russian-US relations in general and reaching a compromise on Syria, in particular. Now, five months after Trump took power, the chances of this happening seem meagre.

Recent events in Syria, especially the incidents that took place in the Raqqa area and near the city of Tanf at the Syrian-Iraqi border, make Russian-US cooperation increasingly illusory. This, in turn, makes the Russian exit from Syria that much more difficult.

BREAKING: Israel AGAIN attacks Syrian Arab Army for the second time in less than 24 hours

Al-Masdar reports that Israel has used its positions in the Israel occupied Syrian Golan Heights to attack Syrian troops near a field hospital on the Syrian side of the line of occupation.

The attack comes as Syrian forces continue to engage in fierce battle with al-Qaeda elements in south-western Syria.

Israel has confirmed the attack, saying that just as with yesterday’s incident, projectiles from the Syrian side of the line of occupation landed in Israeli occupied territory injuring no one.

Are We in a Syrian Missile Crisis?

On Sunday, a U.S. F/A-18E "Super Hornet" fighter aircraft shot down a Syrian SU-22, a Russian-made fighter-bomber. On Monday, Russia issued an unprecedented warning to the United States: "Any aircraft, including planes and drones belonging to the international coalition, operating west of the River Euphrates, will be tracked by Russian anti-aircraft forces in the sky and on the ground and treated as targets."

The Russian warning threatened to turn the skies over Syria into a shooting gallery, with American planes the targets. It seems inconceivable that Russia and the United States might go to war over one Syrian aircraft, but the world thought the same thing after the assassination of one middle-aged Austrian named Franz, yet World War One still killed 15 million people.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JUNE 26, 2017: ISRAEL SUPPORTS MILITANT ADVANCE IN QUNEITRA

Last weekend, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and allied groups from the so-called Free Syrian Army (FSA) launched a large-scale advance against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the province of Quneitra. The militants had formed an operation room named Jaysh Muhammad for the purpose and said that their aim was to capture al-Baath town and to reach the countryside of Damascus.

On Saturday, the joint militant forces made some gains against the SAA and even claimed that they seized over a half of al-Baath. However, further clashes showed that HTS and their allies were not able to break the government defenses.

Following a fail of the militant advance, the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on government positions in the province claiming that some projectiles landed in the Israeli-occupied part of the Golan Heights. The airstrikes targeted undefined number of artillery pieces and two battle tanks of the SAA.

Trump Is Tripping Over Iran and Russia’s Red Lines in Syria

Syria is quickly devolving into a free-for-all. There is a high possibility of further friction among regional powers, as the Russians, Americans, and their various clients scramble to realize mutually incompatible objectives — specifically in the areas of eastern Syria held by the now collapsing “caliphate” of the Islamic State.

BREAKING: No partition of eastern Syria; US “welcomes Syria destroying ISIS” there

Colonel Ryan Dillon, the spokesman for the US led Coalition against ISIS, has spoken of the Syrian government today in more positive terms than any other US official since the start of the Syrian conflict in 2011.

Specifically Dillon is reported to have said that the US led anti-ISIS Coalition is purely focused on destroying ISIS, and that to the extent that the Syrian government also acts to destroy ISIS that is welcomed by the US led Coalition and by extension by the US.

“We Got A Fuckin’ Problem:” Security Analyst/Soldier Chat Reveals Chem Attack Lies, Secret U.S. Agenda

By Brandon Turbeville

As congressional grandstanders make self-serving speeches repeating the “Russian threat” lie and push for greater sanctions and actions against the world’s only other superpower, veteran journalist Seymour Hersh has once again released a bombshell article blowing the official story of the chemical weapons attack at Khan Sheikhoun out of the water. The article is a “chat protocol” between an American military soldier and an American Security analyst. The soldier is on active duty at a key airbase in the region although the location of his deployment is being kept secret for obvious reasons...

The World Is Going Down With Trump

So, where is President Trump? Why is the President of the United States unable to rise to the challenge? Why isn’t he the man Ronald Reagan was? Is it, as David Stockman says, that Trump is incapable of anything except tweeting? http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/47310.htm

Why hasn’t President Trump long ago ordered all intercepts of Russian chatter gathered, declassified, and made public? Why hasn’t Trump launched a criminal prosecution against John Brennan, Susan Rice, Comey, and the rest of the hit squad that is trying to destroy him?

Why has Trump disarmed himself with an administration chosen by Russiaphobes and Israel?

Golan Heights, Israel, Oil and Trump

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was one of the first heads of government to go to the United States to meet Donald Trump on February 16, in Trump’s new role as President. After the event major media focused on the themes of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, the Iran nuclear deal or a Palestine two-state solution.

Virtually no mention was made by CNN or other US mainstream media of the most strategic point the two discussed. Netanyahu asked the US President to recognize the Israeli illegal occupation of Syria’s Golan Heights,1 something no US President has done since Israel openly declared it theirs in 1981.

7 Secrets about the World – Revealed through Syrian War

By Chris Kanthan

Usually one has to read hundreds of books to fathom how the puppet masters of the world work, but once in a while, there is a single event that explains it all. The war in Syria is one of those. Understand the Syrian war, you’ll realize how pervasive propaganda is, how easy it is to manipulate people, how powerful the globalists are, how and why wars are manufactured, and how cynical and ruthless nations are. Let’s take a look at some of the revelations from the Syrian war...

US Recklessly Provoking Russia. The Unthinkable Could Happen by Accident or Design

Instead of fulfilling a campaign promise to improve bilateral relations, Trump so far continues acting provocatively.

He’s pursuing the same reckless agenda as Obama, pushing the envelope toward possible direct confrontation with Russia.

Despite neither country wanting war, unfolding events may cause the unthinkable to happen by accident or design.

Among major powers, Russia is the world’s leading peace and stability champion – America just the opposite.

It’s recklessly waging wars in multiple theaters, threatening conflicts against North Korea, Iran, and perhaps Russia the way things are going.
Madness defines US policy, state terror on a global scale, naked aggression its main expression, controlling planet earth, its resources and people its objective – risking potentially life-destroying nuclear war.
Last week, Senate members near unanimously imposed new illegal sanctions on Russia, including on its energy sector. House action awaits.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at the geopolitical situation unfolding, many times, Mike and I are reminded of that archetypal dream of watching two trains, slowly heading for each other on the same track moving toward mutual destruction, but absolutely unable to stop it.

It is painfully clear to me, at this juncture in history, the the American Deep State is provoking Russia in every possible way, as a prelude toward war against it. The provocations are coming in our treatment of Russia itself; North Korea; Syria; and Iran.

As a Christian pacifist activist, who never advocates military action through which to resolve geopolitical conflicts, I am utterly appalled at how intensely President Trump has embraced war over true diplomacy in so many of the situations I am seeing developing which could very well spiral out of control.

I just see so many flash points coming up, that it feels as though war with Russia (and perhaps, also China) is imminent; it feels like less a question of if, but when, such a war will start.

The only thing I can do is to continue to bear witness, and counsel our readers/listeners to start prepping now, if they have not already started. A very good place to start is the subscription to Daisy Luther's "The Organic Prepper" newsletter. Yes, you will get some ads for goods and services here, but she is brilliantly and brutally astute, when it comes to the difference between surviving upheaval...or not.

Australia says to resume air strikes in Syria after Russia threat

Russia said on Monday it would treat U.S.-led coalition aircraft flying west of the River Euphrates in Syria as potential targets and track them with missile systems and military aircraft, but stopped short of saying it would shoot them down.

As a result of the threat, Australia said on Tuesday it would suspend its military campaign.

On Thursday, a decision was made to resume the air strikes in Syria after an assessment of the Russian statement, although it did not say when they would begin again.

As ISIS Loses Ground, US Is on a Collision Course With Syria and Iran

As ISIS loses ground in Syria, the US continues to deploy additional forces in the area. There is no expectation of the war so much ending as the US transitioning to a war against Syria and Iran for control over Syria, something some members of the National Security Council are openly advocating.

America’s long-stated goal of regime change in Syria makes this transition something of an easy sell as part of the narrative, and hawks have been salivating at a shot at fighting Iran so long they’ll likely embrace anything Iran is involved in, much as they have wars like the Saudi War in Yemen, where Iran’s connection is largely a myth.

The US Escalation In Syria And The Threat Of World War

In the wake of Sunday’s US shoot-down of a Syrian fighter plane and the following day’s warning from Russia that it will treat all American warplanes flying west of the Euphrates River as targets for its surface-to-air missiles, the threat of an armed confrontation between the world’s two largest nuclear powers is now greater than at any time since the Cuban Missile Crisis nearly 55 years ago.

This threat, which carries with it the grim prospect of the annihilation of humanity, is the product of a calculated escalation on the part of US imperialism.

State Department Issues Statement On US-Russia Relations

Shortly after Russia's deputy foreign minister Ryabkov snubbed the US, cancelling a meeting with the Under Secretary of State Thomas A. Shannon, Jr., in retaliation to the Trump administration's announcement on Tuesday that it has imposed sanctions on 38 Russian individuals while a parallel bill of Russian sanctions is making its way through Congress, the US State Department issued a statement on US-Russian relations.

We regret that Russia has decided to turn away from an opportunity to discuss bilateral obstacles which hinder US-Russian relations.

Finally, for any reporters who are still confused how Russia could possibly slam the door of diplomacy in the US' face after an American F-18 shot down a Syrian fighter jet flying over Syria, and proceeded with two separate sanctions, the State Department has some advice: "we would refer you to the Russian government to explain their decision to cancel this meeting. "

Webmaster's Commentary:

I love the smell of irony and hypocrisy in the morning!!

First, let's set the record straight for the zillionth time.

Russia did not annex Crimea: in 2014, the US sponsored putsch threw Ukraine's Yanukovych under the proverbial bus, in exchange for the ascendancy of the pro-western Poroshenko. Crimeans knew that there was no rule of law in Kiev after that, and held a referendum to ask their people if they wanted to stay with Ukraine, post-putsch, or petition the Russian Federation; they overwhelmingly voted to join the Russian federation, and their petition for membership was accepted. And for doing absolutely nothing wrong, Russia has been punished ever since.

Apparently, in light of the fact that the US is a signatory to the UN Charter, the writers of this piece of codswallop have conveniently forgotten that little bit in there about "peaceful self-determination", which is precisely what Crimea did.

And with regard to Syria; US troops are on the ground and in the air are here illegally, and have invaded a sovereign country, with the aim at regime change in Damascus. Russia was invited by the Syrian government to get rid of the jihadis, which the US military is sponsoring. The Russian and Syrian governments have every right to call them the invaders they are.

US Aggression in Syria: Testing Russia’s Resolve

On Tuesday, for the fifth time in recent weeks, US warplanes attacked Syrian military targets, flagrant acts of aggression.

They’re part of Washington’s diabolical regime change plan – at the same time, testing Russia’s resolve in the wake of its announced halt in cooperating with America in Syrian airspace, following the downing of one of its Su-22 planes.

The latest incident involved a US F-15 warplane, downing a Syrian drone near its border with Iraq and Jordan.

A US-led coalition statement lied, claiming the UAV “displaced hostile intent and advanced on coalition forces.” Calling naked aggression self-defense is the last refuge of a rogue state. America and Israel are Exhibits A and B.
On June 8, a US warplane downed another Syrian UAV in the same southern part of the country.

Washington claiming it doesn’t seek to fight Syria and allied forces is a bald-faced lie. Actions in the air and on the ground speak for themselves.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These illegal, hostile acts by the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America will have consequences; it is not as though those in the bowels of power in DC don't know this.

This massive push against Syria is calculated to create a pushback, militarily, from Iran, to give the US government the "justification" to attack it.

But what doesn't seem to factor into the calculus here, is that should such an attack happen, Russia will immediately come to Iran's aid, militarily.

And were I a betting woman, I would definitely not bet against this, and neither should the American Deep State.

Jun 21 11:29

Syria troops position themselves at heart of war on IS

Syrian government troops and their allies have steadily positioned themselves in key areas on the flanks of the U.S.-led coalition battle for the Islamic State’s self-declared capital of Raqqa.

They are attempting to become an indispensable player in uprooting the extremists from Syria entirely.

That presents a major challenge for the coalition, which so far has shunned any cooperation with President Bashar Assad and has partnered instead with local Kurdish-led forces.

As the U.S. has intensified its fight against IS in Syria, Assad and his trusted allies of Russia and Iran are increasingly asserting themselves. A Syrian military offensive has unfolded on several fronts, coupled with Russian airstrikes and a show of force by Iran, which fired ballistic missiles on an IS stronghold this week and pushed militias that it sponsors deeper into the battlefield.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Getting into a situation like this, with no real, appreciable strategy whatsoever, to speak of, is a sure and certain course toward a disaster which can lead to outright regional, and ultimately, a world war.

Jun 21 10:57

Our Rush to War in Syria: It’s a disaster in the making

The downing of a Syrian fighter jet by the United States – and, more recently, of an Iranian drone – augurs a confrontation that could take us down the road to World War III. The US media is echoing the Pentagon’s explanation, which is that the Syrian jet bombed (or was threatening to bomb) units of the US-supported Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) around the town of Tanf. The Syrians say they were attacking forces aligned with ISIS, which both the US and the Syrian government are supposedly fighting.

Stuck in the midst of this four-sided civil war is the United States, with no real policy, and with its military strategy ceded to commanders on the ground – who are pursuing the same course set by the previous administration, i.e. canoodling with radical Islamists bent on regime change in Damascus. In alliance with the Saudis, the British, the Israelis, and the Jordanians, Washington is seemingly still determined to oust Assad and establish a Sunni regime in Damascus.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am disgusted and distraught over President Trump's foreign policy; all the "non-intervention" pledges we heard from Candidate Trump seems to have completely disappeared, with President Trump.
