CIA’s Pompeo states that being asked if he was “sure” of CIA claims “took my breath away” (answer is not “yes”)

Webmaster's Commentary:

The importance of this story is that the CIA assured the President that Assad had launched a chemical weapons attack against Idlib.

In other words, the CIA lied to Trump (just as they did to Kennedy) to manipulate him!

Russia Sends 'Devastating Monster' to Syria

The Terminator 2 is a tank that is designed to protect other tanks, specially in urban areas. It’s built from refurbished hulls from the venerable T-72 main battle tank. But instead of mounting a big 125-millimeter cannon, the BMPT-72 is armed a remarkably diverse suite of weapons that includes two thirty-millimeter cannon, four Ataka-T antitank missiles and a heavy machine gun. This gives the Terminator 2 the capability to engage infantry and light armored vehicles with its cannon, and tanks and buildings with its guided antitank missiles.

The first version of the Terminator was designed in the late 1990s. It was a five-man vehicle based on the chassis of the T-90 tank, according to Russian media.

US Sets Up Military Base in Northern Syria as American Forces Enter Raqqa City

According to AMN, the footage showed a large US plane taking off and plenty of Humvees protecting the site.

Also, an American flag is hoisted above the air field which is located in the territory controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)

Meanwhile, Colonel Ryan Dillon, the US-led Coalition Spokesman, confirmed dozens of US military advisors were deployed inside Raqqa city with US marines providing artillery support against the ISIL from the surrounding areas.

Mid-2017 US status: Trump joins War Criminals invading Syria, threatening Iran, pushing WW3. ‘We the People’s’ choice: basic integrity for .01% arrests, or surrender Earth to evil empire

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

Two weeks ago I reported status of lie-started and illegal US war on Syria, with ongoing threats of war on Iran. Additional and new data include:

US military now illegally occupy eight bases in Syria, with escalating bombing of Syria and Iraq of over 4,000 bombs/month and over 84,000 since 2014.

The US acknowledges ~500 civilian deaths from these bombs. Committing a bombing in another country that kills one person is a crime of murder. Using military to attack another country that is not an imminent threat of attacking one’s nation is an illegal War of Aggression.

Three videos:

1-minute clip hopefully reported Trump’s initial promise to not overthrow other countries’ governments:

U.S. Bases Strategically Placed To Prevent Syrian Military From Advancing; Outlining Borders Of Kurdistan

By Brandon Turbeville

Despite the spits and spurts of World War Three, it seems the United States (at least part of the establishment) and Russia are beginning to move toward a cooling of their approaches to the Syrian crisis. While we have seen this many times in the past – the apparent mutual understanding of Russia and the U.S. – we have been consistently been rattled by an abrupt push by the United States toward a greater involvement in Syria and a push that could very well be the catalyst for a third world war.

While there obviously remains the possibility that the United States will once again lash out like a dying lunatic empire, risking the lives of everyone on earth, we might also ask whether or not the U.S. has had a change in strategy or even perhaps whether or not the American “Plan B” is coming to fruition...

Video Shows US-Backed Syrian Kurds Torturing Detainees

In a particularly embarrassing case of US allies torturing detainees, a video leaked to the Turkish media shows fighters in Kurdish YPG uniforms torturing at least two captive Arabs during interrogation. The video is said to have been from the end of May, and in Mansura District, west of Raqqa.

The two shows the YPG forces kicking and stomping on the prisoners, demanding information about the location of ISIS fighters, as one of the detainees screams that he doesn’t know anything about it. Kurdish officials confirmed the authenticity of the video.

Exactly what that leads to is unclear, as the Kurdish “Self-Protection” body described the act as the torture of “one of the ISIS mercenaries,” but offered no detail of how they decided that’s what the detainees were, let alone why they only mentioned one torture when the video clearly shows two people getting stomped.

THE MEDIA SAYS THE US JUST LIBERATED MOSUL: HERE’S WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

“In June 2014, ISIS crossed the Syrian border into Iraq, effortlessly taking the strategic oil-rich cities of Mosul and Baiji and almost making it as far as Baghdad. Amid the terror group’s frightening victory, they uploaded images and footage of drive-by-shootings, large-scale death marches, and mass graves (following the mass executions of Iraqi soldiers).

“ISIS militants claimed massive quantities of American military equipment, including entire truckloads of humvees, helicopters, tanks, and artillery as their own. This was no secret to Washington, or even the world, as the militants photographed and recorded themselves and publicly flaunted their activity on social media.”

Was there a good reason the American military sat on its hands despite knowing full well that this was going on? As Anti-Media explained further:

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JULY 12, 2017: ARMY SEEKS TO DIVIDE MILITANT-HELD AREA IN EASTERN DAMASCUS

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) are attempting to separate Jobar and Zamalka areas in eastern Damascus countryside. They have advanced along the M5 highway and claimed capturing some buildings in the process. Clashes have also continued in Ayn Tarma. Faylaq Al-Rahman and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham are two militant groups opposing the SAA and the NDF in the area.

The SAA, the NDF and other pro-government factions have fully liberated the al-Hayl gas field area, including hills near the gas field, from ISIS terrorists in the countryside of Palmyra.

The SAA and its allies entered the al-Hayl gas field area earlier this month, captured the al-Hayl gas station, and engaged ISIS units in an intense fighting in the area. On Tuesday, government forces got a full control over the area and seized hills overlooking the gas field. However, ISIS launched a counter-attack in an attempt to the field. An intense fighting is now ongoing.

Titanic blitz offensive by pro-Syria forces sees 3,000 km2 liberated in just 12 hours: Map update

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:55 P.M.) – No less than twelve hours ago the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and allied pro-government militias, after weeks of military build-up, undertook a titanic trans-provincial offensive in the western Syrian Badia. Since then the SAA and its allies have liberated twenty key sites represented by towns and hilltops over a breathtaking area of 3000 kilometers squared (km2). The entire strategic operation is aimed at expelling US-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) mercenaries which operate in the eastern regions of As-Suwayda and Rif Dimashq Governonates.

This offensive launched by pro-government forces today represents the second phase of Operation Big Dawn.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JULY 11, 2017: GOVERNMENT FORCES RAPIDLY ADVANCING IN SOUTHEASTERN DESERT

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies conducted a surprise operation against US-backed militants in the desert east of Damascus. Government forces liberated Dier Nasrani, Rajm Bakar, Jabal Makhoul, Bi’r Makhoul, Jabal Seis, Tal Sad Risha, Al-Qasr, Khirbat umm Atayiq, Banat Baeir, Surat Aliyah, Tulul al-Faddayn, Tal al-Asfar, and nearby points.

The aim of the operation was to clear the militant-held pocket northeast of Suweida and to oppress the units of US-backed militant groups operating in the area since they pose a threat to the countryside of the Syrian capital. According to some sources, US-backed forces have already withdrawn from the area. However, this still has to be confirmed.

Lavrov: Countries that will send observers to Syria’s de-escalation zones should coordinate with Syrian government

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed Friday that the countries that will be invited to carry out the control functions in the de-escalation areas in Syria will inevitably coordinate with the Syrian government in these areas.

“These consultations, as to which precisely countries will be invited to send their military and police to ensure inspection and pass functions, will certainly be carried out first of all with the government of the Syrian Arab Republic,” Lavrov said in a press conference with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Moscow on Friday.

He added that nothing could be done otherwise because the main thing in the peacemakers’ work is the agreement with the host country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is aimed at the US Government, which is not coordinating with the Syrian government and in fact does not have the permission of Syria's government to be in Syria in the first place!

South Syria Ceasefire Takes Effect, Is Holding

US and Russian officials both heralded the official start of the new ceasefire in southern Syria, which they agreed upon Friday, with National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster saying the deal is an important “anti-terrorism” move, and Russian President Vladimir Putin saying it signals a more pragmatic US position on Syria.

From the US position, the goal is to prevent further defeats of rebels in southern Syria, and to prevent the Syrian government from connecting a land route to neighboring Iraq, a policy seen as particularly important to both Israel and Jordan.

With Syria having a narrow de facto link to Iraq already, however, the Russian government sees the move primarily as aimed at preventing the US from carrying out any more attacks against Syrian government forces and their allies, something the US has almost exclusively done in the new ceasefire zone.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me slightly hopeful on this.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JULY 10, 2017: ISIS’ TERRITORY IN SYRIA, IRAQ IS SHRINKING

The Syrian Army and its allies have continued operation against ISIS in the countryside of Palmyra where government troops are advancing in the direction of the ISIS-held town of Sukhna. Government forces have captured a major part of the al-Haid gas fields and now are attempting to secure the area from ISIS attacks.

A group of self-propelled multiple rocket launcher systems, including MB-27 Uragan, have been spotted in the Arak gas field area. Summing up this and recent photo and video evidence showing artillery pieces and technical vehicles armed with various weapons arriving the area, it’s possible to suggest that the army and its allies will soon launch a major push in order to retake Sukhna from ISIS.

McCain Blasts Tillerson for Suggesting Russia Could Have ‘Right Approach’ in Syria

Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) roasted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Sunday for suggesting Russia might have the "right approach" in resolving the Syrian conflict, saying he had "divorced a fundamental of American democracy."

Tillerson told reporters on Friday that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin spent a significant amount of time at their meeting Friday in Germany discussing Syria, where the Russians back the Bashar al-Assad regime and the U.S. backs anti-Assad rebels.

"And I would tell you that, by and large, our objectives are exactly the same," Tillerson said. "How we get there, we each have a view. But there's a lot more commonality to that than there are differences … Maybe they've got the right approach and we've got the wrong approach."

After CBS host John Dickerson played the audio clip on "Face The Nation," McCain said, "You can't make that up."

BEIJING: CHINA SET TO HELP REBUILD SYRIA

With many in Damascus increasingly confident that Syria will win the war against the terrorists who have invaded their country, focus is starting to gradually shift to re-building Syria’s damaged infrastructure. China is set to be the key player in this respect and preparations to increase China’s business ties to Syria are already in the works.

On Sunday the China-Arab Exchange Association in cooperation with the Syrian Embassy in Beijing held the Syria Day Expo where Representative from over 1,000 Chinese business specialising in redevelopment, infrastructure and investment met with Syrian officials.

The event itself is something of a prelude to a forthcoming larger event, the Syrian Reconstruction Expo.

Imad Mustafa, the Syrian Ambassador to China confirmed that China will be given priority in the rebuilding of post-conflict Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Chinese government, unlike that the US government, has the ability to look at the long view of things, to see what mutually beneficial relationships may come from economic collaboration.

This coming relationship with Syria is simply a manifestation of that capability of perspective.

Israel ‘giving secret aid to Syrian rebels’, report says

Israel has allegedly provided Syrian rebels with substantial funding and aid in order to maintain a buffer zone in the Golan Heights border area between the country and its war-torn neighbour, it has emerged.

The Israeli authorities have provided significant amounts of cash, food, fuel and medical supplies to Sunni rebels fighting against Bashar al-Assad’s government, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing "half a dozen rebels and three people familiar with Israel's thinking."

Is is well known that Israel has provided medical help for Syrian civilians and fighters inside its own borders in the past. The authorities have retaliated to occasional stray rockets in the restive border region with reprisals, but it was previously thought that the Israeli authorities largely stay out of the complicated six-year-old conflict next door.

Putin says Syria ceasefire agreed thanks to Trump as he’s ‘different than on TV’

Mr Putin said the truce was the result of the US changing its stance and becoming more pragmatic about the situation there.

Speaking at a news conference at the G20 summit in Hamburg, the Russian leader was referring to a ceasefire and "de-escalation agreement" for southwestern Syria reached by the United States, Russia and Jordan.

Mr Putin also welcomed the news that the US had appointed a new envoy to try to solve the Ukraine crisis.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has chosen Kurt Volker, a former US Ambassador to NATO, to lead US diplomacy on the Ukraine crisis, saying he had moved to fill the position after being urged to do so by the Russian leader.

Mr Putin said "certain precursors" had been established for improved relations between Russia and the US.

Putin’s Assessment of Trump at the G-20 Will Determine Our Future

The backdrops to the Putin/Trump meeting are the aspirations of Israel and the neoconservatives. It is these aspirations that drive US foreign policy.

What is Syria about? Why is Washington so focused on overthrowing the elected president of Syria? What explains the sudden 21st century appearance of “the Muslim threat”? How is Washington’s preoccupation with “the Muslim threat” consistent with Washington’s wars against Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi, and Assad, leaders who suppressed jihadism? What explains the sudden appearance of “the Russian threat” which has been hyped into dangerous Russophobia without any basis in fact?

The Muslim threat, the Russian threat, and the lies used to destroy Iraq, Libya, and parts of Syria are all orchestrations to serve Israeli and neoconservative aspirations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pentagon Falsely Claims Only 603 Civilians Killed in ISIS War Airstrikes

The Pentagon’s latest massive undercount of the civilian death toll in coalition airstrikes against Iraq and Syria has shown a significant spike in the death toll, putting the latest official count at 603 civilians between the start of the air war and the end of May.

The figure is rising a lot faster than it used to, growing by scores months now instead of by single digit numbers, reflective of the general trend of soaring death tolls as US strikes concentrate on densely populated civilian targets.

They’re still wrong, however, and wrong in a big way. The official 603 killed is less than one seventh the figure by the Air Wars NGO, which put the civilian deaths through the same period at 4,354. This is because incidents with hundreds killed are often revised downward by the Pentagon to just a handful, and smaller incidents, where only a dozen or so are killed, tend to be ignored altogether.

Putin and Trump discuss anti-terror efforts, cyber security, Ukrainian and Syrian crisesMore:http://tass.com/politics/955262

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he discussed the Ukraine and Syria crises, the fight against terrorism and cybercrimes along with cyber security at his talks with US President Donald Trump.

"I have had a lengthy conversation with the US president. Loads of questions have accumulated including both Ukraine and Syria along with other issues, some bilateral issues," Putin said at his meeting with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. "We have returned to discussing the fight against terrorism and cybersecurity."

Putin apologized to Abe for making him wait for about an hour.
"Both I and he [US president] owe you an apology," he said.
The 135-minute meeting was held on the sidelines of the Group of Twenty summit in Germany’s Hamburg. Until today, the two leaders had had only telephone conversations.

At the beginning of the talks, Putin and Trump spoke in favor of dialogue. The meeting was held behind closed doors and was attended only by the two countries’ top diplomats.

I see reasons to be cautiously optimistic here.

RUSSIA SAYS ISIS PLANNING TO GAS SYRIAN CIVILIANS, FRAME ASSAD, TO JUSTIFY US INVASION

Moscow, Russia – On Thursday, during a weekly press briefing by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokeswoman Maria Zakharova explained that their intelligence has revealed active terrorist plots to stage chemical attacks in Syria in order to justify and precipitate U.S. strikes and increased intervention in the Syrian civil war.

The information exposes ongoing plans by Syrian terrorist groups to stage chemical weapons attacks, to be blamed on the Assad government, in an effort to justify U.S. attacks against Syrian government forces.

“According to information available [to us], Syrian terrorist groups plan staged provocative actions with the use of chemical poison gases to justify US strikes against the positions of the Syrian government forces,” Zakharova said at a weekly press briefing.

The intelligence reveals that ISIS has deployed laboratories and equipment for manufacturing chemical weapons from its capital of Raqqa to Deir ez-Zor, according to Zakharova.

SYRIAN KURDS EXPECT WAR WITH TURKEY ‘WITHIN DAYS’

Citing a continued military buildup along their frontier in northern Syria, the Kurdish YPG’s leadership says they believe an attack by Turkey, leading to open warfare, is imminent, and will likely begin “within days.”

Turkey and the YPG are hostile toward one another, with Turkey repeatedly declaring the Kurds “terrorists,” and attacking Kurdish targets in Afrin District. YPG commanders have openly talked about invading Turkish-held parts of Syria and “liberating” them into the Kurdish autonomous region of Rojave.

Turkish Deputy PM Numaan Kurtulmus denied that Turkey was “declaring war” against the YPG, but did insist that they are “making preparations” to protect Turkish independence from the “threat” posed by the continued existence of the YPG on their border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The main flaw in US war planning here, was the "illusion" that the US could, in any way, control the Kurd's desire for a real homeland, carving up bits of Syria to obtain it, and that Turkey would allow that to happen.

'Many Gaps' in OPCW Report on Idlib Incident as Mission Failed to Visit Site

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) mission into April's chemical incident in Syrian Idlib has failed to establish what happened in the province as it never visited the site of the incident or the airbase from which the alleged attack was carried out, Permanent Russian Representative to OPCW Alexander Shulgin said.

The OPCW report was presented on Friday and claimed that the mission had established the use of sarin but did not determine who was responsible.

U.S. Outmaneuvers Itself In Syria Over Damascus-Baghdad Highway

By Brandon Turbeville

As the Syrian military makes massive gains throughout the country, particularly in the east, it is now painfully obvious that the United States and its Western allies are desperately trying to prevent the Assad government from reaching the Iraqi border and unifying Syria.

One need only look at the strategic positioning of U.S. and allied troops as well as Western-backed terrorists to see that this is the case...

Useful Idiots Who Undermine Dissent On Syria

There has been much disingenuous criticism of those, like me, who question why the western corporate media have studiously ignored the latest investigation by renowned journalist Seymour Hersh on Syria. Hersh had to publish his piece in a German newspaper, Welt am Sonntag, after the entire US and UK media rejected his article. There has still been no mention of his investigation more than a week later.

US Expands Military Footprint in Syria to EIGHT Bases, ‘Modifies’ Kobani Air Base

With very little fanfare from the western media, the US is quietly creating a hostile military footprint inside Syria.

By establishing a chain of airbases, military outposts and missile bases inside a country, the US is illegally, stealth-occupying a sovereign nation. The number of US military installations in Syria has increased to eight bases according to recent reports, and possibly nine according to one other military analyst.

We should also not forget the malevolent presence of Israel in the illegally annexed southern Syrian territory of the Golan Heights. This could just as easily be included in the list of US military outposts inside Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The government of Syria has not granted permission for the US to do this.

Russia hits Islamic State in Syria with advanced cruise missiles

Russian strategic bombers fired advanced cruise missiles at Islamic State targets in Syria on Wednesday from a distance of 1,000 kilometers (621.37 miles) in a show of force Moscow said demolished three ammunition depots and a command post.

Moscow carried out the attack just two days before President Vladimir Putin and U.S. counterpart Donald Trump are due to hold heir first face-to-face meeting at the G20 summit in Hamburg, and after the Kremlin said they would discuss whether they were ready to team up against Islamic State in Syria.

The Russian Defence Ministry said the attack was carried out by Tupolev-95MS strategic bombers which had taken off from a base on Russian soil and refueled mid-air before firing at targets on the border between the Hama and Homs provinces.

"The strikes were carried out using high-precision Kh-101 missiles from a distance of about 1,000 kilometers," the ministry said in a statement.

Trump: Toward War in the Middle East

Now comes President Donald Trump. His policies for the Middle East are similar to those of the previous two administrations but on steroids. Trump has already escalated the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen. When Trump sends his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to solve the seventy-year-old Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu cannot hide his happiness with the appointment. The Democrats and the media are too busy with election results, hacking, and the Russian probe to pay much attention to Middle East policy, with one exception – Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

However, this time, unlike the situation in Iraq, there is a 6,000 lb gorilla, snoozing on the Bosendorfer, regarding further American military misadventures in the Middle East; it goes by the name of Russia, and will, should Iran be attacked, to Iran's aid militarily.

IF, in fact, the US goes to war against Iran, to appease its Israeli handlers, look for the reinstitution of a draft, for both men and women; an horrific decline in the US economy; and the possibility that the US military may well not be able to emerge victorious from the conflict.

Over 500,000 Syrian Refugees Return To Government-Controlled Areas Of Syria

Crucial to the Western narrative of the Syrian conflict is the assertion that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is a brutal dictator who has taken to killing his own people over the course of Syria’s six-year-long conflict. While this narrative has been pervasive in media coverage of the Syrian conflict, it is now being debunked by the very Syrian refugees that the media purported were fleeing Assad in the first place.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JULY 5, 2017: RUSSIAN MILITARY POLICE TO DEPLOY IN NEW BUFFER ZONES?

The Russian Military Police may be deployed in buffer zones in Syria, Russia’s chief negotiator at the Astana talks and the president’s envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev said on Tuesday when the fifth round of talks started in the Kazakh capital. According to him, the issue, including the status of de-escalation control forces, has not yet been finally agreed. The sides will begin setting up security zones within two-three weeks after signing relevant documents as well as establish a joint coordination center to monitor security in the zones. However, the Russian official pointed out that there are still difficulties in “establishing the lines of contact.”

Syrian government forces have liberated the Tulul Hayl area and advanced near Ramamin in the province of Homs. The Syrian army and its allies, backed up by the Russian Aerospace Forces, are preparing for a major push toward the ISIS-held town of Sukhna at the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor road.

SYRIA: US-led Propaganda, False Flag Ops for ‘Damascus Using Chemical Weapons’ Has Begun

It’s still unclear why last week the US would blatantly telegraph its position on a ‘imminent chemical attack by the Assad regime’ yet to take place in Syria, but one thing is certain – the announcement from Washington was absolutely tactical. Could US operatives be that deficient as to mount a false flag event after they had already advertised their agenda in advance?

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JULY 4, 2017: ARMY REPORTEDLY RECEIVES RUSSIAN-MADE BMPT TERMINATOR COMBAT VEHICLES

Syrian government forces, led by Liwa al-Quds and Hezbollah units, have further advanced against ISIS northeast of the Arak gas field in the eastern part of Homs province. Army troops and their allies have captured a number of hills and reached the important Rammim Hill west of the Hail gas field. By controlling the Rammim Hill, government forces will be able to establish fire control over the vicinity of the Hail gas field and thus soon to retake the field from ISIS. Doing so will also contribute to a wider effort aimed at liberating the strategic town of al-Sukhnah.

According to reports, government forces received an unknown number of Russian-made BMPT Terminator combat vehicles. The vehicles will allegedly be used during the upcoming advance on Deir Ezzor. If confirmed, this will be the first usage of the Russian-made armoured vehicle in a combat environment.

The Media Blackout Of Seymour Hersh’s Exposé On US Missile Strike Against Syria

A full week has passed since the publication by a major German newspaper of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh’s thoroughgoing debunking of the false claim of a Syrian government chemical weapons attack on April 4. Washington’s New Threat Against Syria, Russia and Iran: Invitation to False Flag Operation

Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the United Nations, followed that statement by tweeting,

“Any further attacks done to the people of Syria will be blamed on Assad, but also on Russia & Iran who support him killing his own people.”

On Tuesday morning, speaking on BBC 4 Today programme, the British Defence Minister Sir Michael Fallon was asked how Britain would respond to another American attack on Syria, and he responded “we will support” future US action in response to the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

Tillerson: Russia Should Decide Assad's Fate

And so, three months after the US State Department famously flip-flopped, when first at the end of March Rex Tillerson said at a news conference that “the longer term status of President Assad will be decided by the Syrian people" adding that "our priority is no longer to sit and focus on getting Assad out" only to follow one week later with Tillerson's warning to Russia that "coalition steps are underway to remove Assad" which in turn segued into the first US attack on Syrian soil with the launch of no less than 59 cruise missiles, the US has done it again and according to Foreign Policy, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has once again told the U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres that the fate of Syrian leader Bashar Al-Assad now lies in the hands of Russia, and that the Trump administration’s priority is limited to defeating the Islamic State.

Israel tackles Trump’s Syrian blues

Government officials can be broadly put into two categories — those who take to bureaucratic skulduggery like fish to water and the rest who survive the shenanigans. It’s a matter of both DNA and acquired skills. Then, there is a miniscule category to which the US State Secretary Rex Tillerson belongs who either fail or refuse to reconcile with their fate. Do not be surprised if he takes voluntary retirement from Washington establishment and heads for the Deep South to his roots to be with his clan, his family. (Read here and here the vicious attacks by America’s “Jewish press” on Tillerson.)

There is, of course, a policy twist to it. The rising star is the US’ ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, a protégé of the Jewish lobby. She has no background in diplomacy and seems a woman of average intelligence – remember her silly remarks on Kashmir? – a unseen (Jewish) hand is plotting her career. Haley is a permanent invitee to the president’s National Security Council meetings.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JULY 3, 2017: ISIS COLLAPSED IN EASTERN ALEPPO

Pro-government forces, led by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces, have fully expelled ISIS terrorists from the area east of the Khanasir-Ithriyah road. Initially, the Tiger Forces took control over the entire Ithriyah-Resafa road, including the Habbari oil field and nearby points. Then, after a series of firefights with ISIS terrorists, government troops cleared the remaining ISIS-held pocket in eastern Aleppo.

With this advance, the SAA shortened the frontline with ISIS in the area and got a useful supply line to its strong point of Resafa. In the current situation, government forces will likely develop momentum against ISIS terrorists east of Salamiyah. If the SAA and its allies secure the road between Salamiyah and Palmyra, they will further shorten the frontline and repel any possible ISIS counter-attack on the Tiyas Airbase that may threaten the supply lines of government forces operating against ISIS east of Palmyra.

US Media Sells Disorder in Eastern Syria: US "progress" in eastern Syria is a prelude to protracted conflict, not peace and prosperity.

The Washington Post in a piece penned by David Ignatius, attempts to showcase US progress in eastern Syria where it admittedly and intentionally created the self-proclaimed “Islamic State” (ISIS) and where it now claims it is fighting and defeating it with proxies on the ground as well as an expanding US air and ground presence.

Titled, “As the Islamic State falls in Syria, one city offers a preview of the country’s future,” the piece attempts to portray efforts by the US to fill the vacuum left in the wake of a shrinking ISIS as being filled by stability brought by US proxies – primarily Kurdish militias.

US Won’t Leave Syria After The Islamic State (ISIS) Is Defeated, Says Commander of US Forces: Commander of the US-led anti-ISIS coalition anticipates a lengthy occupation of Syria in Syria, Iraq

he three-star US general in command of American forces in Syria and Iraq says the US will leave Syria as soon as ISIS is defeated, but not really. Actually, they will stick around, because after the ISIS state is defeated there will still be ISIS guerrillas to deal with:

Gen. Townsend promoted a young officer to first lieutenant on Wednesday — and he acknowledged to CBS News that U.S. troops won’t be leaving Syria any time soon.

“I think U.S. troops will start leaving Syria when ISIS is defeated,” Townsend said.

But will ISIS turn into an insurgency when they’ve lost all their territory?
“I think that’s the next stage of ISIS,” Townsend said.

“We call that ISIS 2.0 — an insurgency, rural. So I think we’ll still be here dealing with that problem set for a while.”

When Will Russia Challenge US and Israeli Aggression in Syria?

Washington, Israel and their rogue allies are at war on Syria – naked aggression against a sovereign independent state threatening no one.

Both countries supply ISIS and other terrorists with arms, munitions and other material support – supported by terror-bombing, daily by US warplanes, Israel at its discretion, its sixth attack in the last 10 days occurring Saturday, an unjustifiably pretext cited like all previous incidents, saying:
“In response to projectiles launched earlier today at Israel from Syria, Israeli forces targeted the Syrian military artillery position that was the source of the previous fire.”

No casualties or damage was reported. So-called errant mortar fire or other projectiles almost certainly came from US and Israeli-supported terrorists – providing unjustifiable justification for IDF aggression.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Stephen Lendman is a fine writer, but I think he misses the heart of the intent by those in the bowels of power in the Unhinged Surveilled State of America, and that intent is to create a false flag, either in Syria or elsewhere, to be blamed on Russia, as the "justification" to start a war against it, as completely mad as such a scenario might be.

Otherwise, why would NATO have encircled Russia with its troops and equipment, as it has been for the last several years?!?

Israeli Defense Minister Warns Syria, Lebanon: Don't Test Us

The Israeli defense minister said on Sunday that while Israel maintains a policy of staying out of the raging Syrian Civil War, breaches of the country's territorial sovereignty won't be tolerated.

"We have no intention of entering any conflict, but I advise our neighbors not to test us," Lieberman told military journalists during a briefing at the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv, as cited by the Jerusalem Post.

"We will not tolerate any spillover into our territory."

He added that Syria and Lebanon already know that it is not a good idea to test Israel's military strength, implying the retaliatory strikes.

Additionally, Lieberman pointed out that Israel is ready to support a peace process in Syria — unless it involves Iran, Hezbollah or Assad.

"Keeping Assad in power is not in our security interests," he told reporters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US Falsely Accuses Iran of Violating Nuclear Deal

It’s very difficult to accuse Iran of being in violation of the P5+1 nuclear deal, because they are plainly not. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is responsible for policing the deal, confirms on a monthly basis that this remains the case, and that Iran has not been in violation of the pact.

That’s an inconvenience for the Trump Administration, which has repeatedly condemned the deal and insisted Iran would violate it. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley appears to have decided that the path of least resistance is overt lying, today claiming at the UN Security Council that Iran had “repeated violations” of the deal.

The claim was made literally during a meeting at which all the other permanent members of the Security Council were talking up how great it is that the deal is in place, and that Iran is showing such a deep commitment to its continued participation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With her blatant, and unrelentingly slavish support for Israel, which means she feels obligated to lie about Iran's compliance with the P5+1 Accord, Haley is fast approaching the VISS (Village Idiot Syndrome Status) with her brother and sister diplomats, who are doing everything to ignore her unrestrained rantings and ravings the best they can.

But please understand; there are elements with the Deep American State who will not rest until, to placate Israel, there is a US war against Iran in order to accomplish regime change in Tehran, no matter if this also means a war against Russia, which such a war against Iran, will probably create.

Ex-Weapons Inspector: Trump’s Sarin Claims Built on ‘Lie’

Human Rights Watch (HRW), drawing upon analysis of images brought to them by the volunteer rescue organization White Helmets, of fragments allegedly recovered from the scene of the attack, has claimed that the material cause of the Khan Sheikhun event is a Soviet-made KhAB-250 chemical bomb, purpose-built to deliver Sarin nerve agent. There are several issues with the HRW assessment. First and foremost, there is no independent verification that the objects in question are what HRW claims, or that they were even physically present at Khan Sheikhun, let alone deposited there as a result of an air attack by the Syrian government. Moreover, the KhAB-250 bomb was never exported by either the Soviet or Russian governments, thereby making the provenance of any such ordinance in the Syrian inventory highly suspect.

MSM Distorts OPCW Non-confirmed Report that Assad Used Sarin in Chemical Attack

By Brandon Turbeville

CNN and other corporate media outlets are once again alight with “proof” that Assad used chemical weapons against civilians in Khan Sheikhoun. So what, exactly, is their proof? Well, they don’t have any. That shouldn’t be surprising in and of itself but it is at least entertaining the lengths to which corporate media outlets and Western governments will go to blame their own crimes against humanity on the Syrian government in order to justify new Western crimes against humanity...

Is the US Really Ready for 'Unprecedented Actions' in Syria?

Commenting on the above report, Alexander Gusev, a political analyst and director of the Institute for Strategic Planning noted to Sputnik Radio that the US broadcaster has previously discredited itself more than once, however this time the information might be truthful.

He pointed out that CNN reported on the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush, along with two destroyers and two cruisers being deployed in the eastern Mediterranean Sea for routine patrol positions.

"The destroyers and cruisers could fire Tomahawk missiles without putting pilots in manned aircraft at risk. In addition, dozens of aircraft already in the Middle East for operations against ISIS (Daesh) in Syria and Iraq could be used in a potential strike," the broadcaster said.

Israeli aircraft bombs Syrian army positions in occupied Golan

An Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle has reportedly targeted Syrian army positions in Golan Heights after a projectile allegedly fired from Syria landed in the occupied territory.

Lebanon-based Arabic-language al-Manar television network reported on Friday that the drone struck a Syrian battle tank as well as a 105mm cannon in Syria’s strategic southwestern region of Quneitra near the border with Israeli-controlled Palestinian territories.

Earlier, the Israeli army had announced in a statement that “an errant projectile fired from Syria had hit an open area in the northern Golan Heights,” noting that the round was “a result of internal fighting in Syria.”

It is the fourth time in a week that projectiles from Syria have hit the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wonder just how long before the Syrian army strikes back at Israel; unfortunately, however, it would be just the "justification" Israel needs to provide public "cover" for attacking Syria further into its interior, and away from the Golan Heights.

Terrorists in Syria Plan Chemical Weapons Provocation in Dara'a Province

"Terrorists will blow up multiple ammunition filled with poisoning materials in near future in one of the regions in Dara'a province. The provocation will be carried out on analogy with the situation in Idlib in the beginning of 2017," the source told Sputnik.

The information about the plans was reportedly obtained from authorized sources in the political and military leadership of Syria. The recent statements by the White House concerning a potential chemical attack and a warning that if Syrian President Bashar al-Assad conducted another chemical attack on civilians, both "he and his military" would pay a heavy price, has become an essential motivation for the terrorists, the source added.

U.S. Retreats From Al-Tanf – Gives Up on Occupying South East Syria

The U.S. plan was to move from al-Tanf north towards the Euphrates river and to thereby capture and control the whole south-east of Syria. But Syria and its allies made an unexpected move and prevented that plan. The invaders are now cut off from the Euphrates by a Syrian west-to-east line that ends at the Iraqi border. On the Iraqi side elements of the Popular Military Unites under the command of the Iraqi government are moving to meet the Syrian forces at the border. The U.S. invaders are now sitting in the mid of a piece of rather useless desert around al-Tanf where their only option is to die of boredom or to move back to Jordan from where they came.

Russian Foreign Ministry: OPCW’s report on Syria based on very doubtful data

Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed on Friday that the report of the Special Mission of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on Syria is based on highly questionable data.

“Unfortunately, we are forced to state on the first reading of the document that its conclusions are still based on very doubtful data,” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s information and press department said.

The ministry added that the OPCW’s data was “obtained from the same opposition and the same notorious NGOs of the White Helmet type, and not at the site of the tragedy but in a certain ‘neighboring country’.”

What are Washington’s stakes in the Syrian conflict?

Washington’s interest in the Syrian civil war is partly about ensuring Israel’s regional security and partly it is about doing the bidding of America’s regional Sunni allies: Turkey, Jordan and the Gulf Arab States. Saudi Arabia which has been vying for power as the leader of the Sunni bloc against the Shi’a-dominated Iran in the regional geopolitics was staunchly against the invasion of Iraq by the Bush Administration in 2003.

6 Trigger Points: How the Conflict Between the United States and Iran Is Fast Escalating Toward War

The long-simmering conflict between the United States and Iran is fast escalating toward war. The battlefield is the desert expanse of eastern Syria where civil war has raged for the last five years. Tehran wants to keep U.S. forces out of the area, while Washington wants to use the region to wage war against Iran’s ally, Syria.

After 15 years of unsuccessful war in Afghanistan and Iraq, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the Trump administration is pursuing a policy of "regime change" in Iran that might lead to a third U.S. ground war in the Middle East since 2001.

Restraint is breaking down. While President Obama resisted U.S. involvement in the Syrian civil war, Trump has approved it. While Obama pursued dialog with Iran, Trump has embraced the new Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, who laid down his country’s new, harsher line in April. ‘We will not wait until the battle is in Saudi Arabia," he said, "but we will work so the battle is there in Iran."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The short answer to that last question is, undoubtedly, yes.

But there is, in the Iran War scenario, the 6,000 lb gorilla, draped over the Bosendorfer, and snoozing for the moment; that 6,000 lb gorilla is Russia, which has promised, through the last decades, to come to Iran's aid, militarily, should it be attacked.

War with Russia over Syria and Iran?!? The thought of this is nothing more than sheer, absolute, foaming at the mouth, dog-mad insanity; and yet, that ...appears to be the direction in which the US government and military are headed here.

This is reckless in the extreme, and I say this because at this moment in the US's military preparedness, it does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia, so the timing is utterly insane.

Russia has been making incredible strides, recently, in its weapons capability:

The F-35 Is a $1.4 Trillion Dollar National Disaster

Is the F-35 a trillion dollar mistake?!?

The F-35 won't have a real chance in combat

The F-35, amazingly, has even more problems than we thought

You catch my drift here. The US government and military has to spend smarter on its weapons and fighter programs; not just necessarily spend more money here.

American weapons manufacturers have to be disabused of the notion that whatever they produce, even if it doesn't function at all in the field, is still acceptable to the American government and military, and will ultimately paid for by US taxpayers.

In fact, some hard jail time for executives of corporations which fail to deliver as advertised, might go a long way toward curing the problem.

Flashback: Ron Paul, former congressman, says ‘zero chance’ Assad gassed Syrians

“Trump said let the Syrians decide who should run their country, and peace talks were making out, and Al Qaeda and ISIS were on the run,” he added, the latter being an alternative name for the Islamic State terror group.

“The blame now is we can’t let that happen because it looks like it might benefit Assad,” the former Texas congressman continued. “It’s not so easy though, is it? What happened four years ago in 2013, you know, this whole thing about crossing the red line? Ever since then, the neocons have been yelling and screaming, a part of the administration has been yelling and screaming about Assad using poison gas.”

According to Mr. Paul, “it doesn’t make any sense for Assad under these conditions to all of a sudden use poisonous gases.

“I think there is a zero chance he would have done, you know, this deliberately,” he added.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JUNE 30, 2017: GOVERNMENT ADVANCE AGAINST ISIS

Syrian government forces, backed up by the Russian Aerospace Forces, have fully secured the important village of Humaima following about a week of clashes with ISIS terrorists in the border area with Iraq. The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies continued advancing in the direction of the T2 pumping station in southern Deir Ezzor.

Meanwhile, some pro-government media spread rumors that US-led coalition troops may leave their garrisons in At Tanf and al-Zquf. However, this seems unlikely in the nearest future because the garrisons in the area allow the coalition to control a chunk of the Syrian borders with Jordan and Iraq.

The SAA Tiger Forces, Liwa al-Quds and the National Defense Forces made gains against ISIS east of the Ithriyah-Khanasir road. Government troops have liberated the villages of Al-Shreima, Jadidah and Rasm Askar as well as several strategic hills east of Khansir.

General: US Troops ‘Just Getting Started Good’ in Raqqa

US commander Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend today told CBS News that he believes only about 25-30% of the military campaign for the ISIS capital city of Raqqa has happened, talking up the massive US military buildup in the area, and insisting that US troops are “just getting started good” in the city’s invasion.

This is all happening without the permission of the Syrian government, of course, but Townsend downplayed the risk of clashes with Syria or Russia over that fact, saying that he believes they’re comfortable with focusing on the rest of the country while the US invades Raqqa, and that he doesn’t anticipate any conflicts.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, General Townsend speaks English as a second language, which comes rather as a surprise to me; to characterise the activities of US troops as “just getting started good” is a little unnerving.

If his thought processes are as sloppy as is his English, we are in deep trouble in this immoral and illegal invasion of Syria.

Unfortunately, it is only a question of time before there is a military clash between the US/Syrian/Russian forces.

Russia has warned us that any attack on any Syrian/Russian aircraft by the US military will bring a "proportional response". The potential for a full-scale war between the US and Russia over Syria remains as serious as a heart attack right now.

Flashback: Something is Not Adding Up In Idlib Chemical Weapons Attack

Therefore, it is completely unsurprising that Orient TV has already prepared a “media campaign” to cover the Russian and Syrian airstrikes in neighbouring Hama countryside against terrorist forces, with the allegations that the airforces have been using chemical weapons. And most telling, their announcement of covering the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government, hours before this allegation even emerged…….. Flashback - REPORT: SOROS-LINKED GROUP BEHIND CHEMICAL ATTACK IN SYRIA

The White Helmets, an al-Qaeda affiliated group funded by George Soros and the British government, have reportedly staged another chemical weapon attack on civilians in the Syrian city of Khan Shaykhun to lay blame on the Syrian government.

A day prior to the attack, Gulf-based Orient TV announced “Tomorrow we are launching a media campaign to cover the airstrikes on Hama country side including the usage of chemical warfare against civilians.” This shows clear foreknowledge that the rebels were going to stage an attack by Orient TV.

The White Helmets filmed much of the footage being released on the chemical attack. They have also been known to stage “rescue” videos in the past. However, this time it appears children were indeed killed in the making of this “media campaign.”

Ex-Weapons Inspector: Trump’s Sarin Claims Built on ‘Lie’

The lack of any meaningful fact-based information to back up the claims of the White Helmets and those who sustain them, like the U.S. government and Bellingcat, raises serious questions about the viability of the White House’s latest pronouncements on Syria and allegations that it was preparing for a second round of chemical attacks. If America has learned anything from its painful history with Iraq and the false allegations of continued possession of weapons of mass destruction on the part of the regime of Saddam Hussein, it is that to rush into military conflict in the Middle East based upon the unsustained allegations of an interested regional party (i.e., Ahmed Chalabi and the Iraqi National Congress) is a fool’s errand.

US-Backed Syrian Fighters Warn of Open Warfare with Turkish Forces

An official with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the coalition of US-backed militants with the stated goal of creating a secular, democratic, federalized Syria, said that the SDF sees a "big possibility of open, fierce confrontation" with Turkish forces in northwestern Syria. This comes after the two sides exchanged fire on Wednesday.

The senior official, Naser Haj Mansour, told Reuters that the SDF would confront the Turks "if they try to go beyond the known lines." Turkish forces are there to support anti-government, primarily Islamist Syrian rebels.

Mansour went on to say that a Turkish attack against SDF-controlled areas would do "great harm" to the SDF's efforts against Daesh. The two factions are currently embroiled in a struggle over the city of Raqqa, Daesh's primary stronghold in Syria.

Trump’s Chaos is Covering for Stealth Escalation Overseas

The escalation directly contradicts Trump’s stances during the election campaign. Back then, he indicated his skepticism of regime change, claiming — falsely — that he had opposed the Iraq invasion and denouncing the intervention in Libya. He indicated that he saw no reason to take sides in the Syrian civil war, suggesting that perhaps the United States could join with Syria and its ally Russia to take out the Islamic State. He promised he would “bomb the s--- out of ISIS” but would not get bogged down in the Middle East. This stance appealed strongly to voters weary of war and looking for a leader who would focus on our challenges here at home. That promise has now clearly been trashed.

Mattis: Syria Fight Will Only Get More Complicated After Raqqa Is Captured

While US officials have for months been presenting the invasion of Raqqa as the end-all, be-all battle against ISIS, they’ve also been preparing the public for the idea of attacking the “next ISIS capital,” and so on. Secretary of Defense James Mattis was even more direct, predicting that the situation would be even more complex after the fall of Raqqa.

“You have to play this thing very carefully,” Mattis insisted, saying it would become harder and harder to keep the various factions fighting against ISIS from getting into “incidents” against one another, while talking of continued support for the Kurdish YPG.

The “incidents” in question have mostly been US warplanes attacking Shi’ite militias, and shooting down the occasional warplane or drone aligned with the Syrian government. Though the US has claimed they “welcome” Syrian offensives against ISIS, they’ve continued to attack them every time they get close.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec Def Mattis, a word, please: Russia's Sergei Ryabkovhas warned that any further US incursion military into the sovereign nation of Syria will have ...consequences.

Russia warns US its fighter jets are now potential target in Syria

I would like to politely point out that Russia has been invited by the Syrian government and military to get rid of the jihadists; military from the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America have not been invited to do so.

What the US government has done here, no matter the cloddishly clumsy spin about "fighting ISIS", has been to invade a sovereign country on a horrifically flimsy pretext, in order to attempt regime change in Damascus.

And yesterday, the US Ambassador to the UN made the following, breathtaking statement at the UN:

US envoy Nikki Haley: No place for Assad in post-ISIS Syria

Sir, what can that statement possibly mean except as a neon-orange, brightly blinking light, telegraphing that the US government is planning to create regime change in Damascus, coming close on the heels of ousting ISIS in Raqqa?!?

IS a war with Russia over Syria really worth it, in the larger scheme of things?!?
