British Prime Minister Theresa May has authorised British forces to conduct precision strikes against Syria to degrade its chemical weapons capability.

"This is not about intervening in a civil war. It is not about regime change," May said in a statement.

"It is about a limited and targeted strike that does not further escalate tensions in the region and that does everything possible to prevent civilian casualties."

Trump also delivered a message to Iran and Russia.

An apparent false flag chemical attack in the Syrian town of Douma on April 7 has served as a pretext for the United States to threaten the Middle Eastern country with a missile strike; Russia has been calling for a transparent investigation while local doctors have said no one has requested any medical treatments for poisoning.

The Russian Defense Ministry held a press briefing on what the Western narrative describes as an alleged chemical attack in Syria's Eastern Ghouta. No evidence has been presented to support the claim. A Russian chemical corps commission that has been sent to Douma reported that no traces of chemical poisoning were found. On April 12, the US defense secretary acknowledged that the Pentagon had no evidence of chlorine or sarin use in Douma.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard to President Trump: Do Not Strike Syria

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today (April 12, 2018) called for President Trump to refrain from using military action against Syria that would expand and escalate the conflict, and likely result in additional civilian and military casualties, more refugees, and fewer resources to invest in rebuilding American communities, and instead work toward peace. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is also a signatory on a bipartisan letter to be sent to President Trump urging him to uphold the Constitution and the War Powers Resolution by obtaining the required authorization from Congress before ordering a military attack against Syria.

In a letter to President Donald Trump, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said:

“The people of Syria want peace more than anything else in the world. Attacking Syria will not bring their war-torn country any closer to peace. U.S. military action against Syria will simply escalate and prolong the war, resulting in more senseless death, destruction, and suffering.

On the clamour to repeat the disastrous Iraq and Libya interventions in Syria

"Despite the ongoing death and destruction that has followed Western military interventions in Iraq and Libya, the clamour for a repeat performance in Syria is gaining momentum, especially in Washington and London where Donald Trump and Theresa May have plenty of reasons to want to deflect attention from their internal problems.

"The proponents of military intervention in Syria should name one – only one – instance where such intervention in the Middle East has succeeded. Attacking Syria will achieve just one thing: helping the remnants of Islamic State group and other jihadist cutthroats such as Al-Qaeda, the Saudi-backed (if not created) Jaysh al-Islam (Army of Islam) and the Muslim Brotherhood. It also risks breaking up Syria into ethnic and sectarian entities that will, without a doubt, be at perpetual war with one another..."

It's not that general Mattis is necessarily opposed to the strikes (it's his field of expertise), but they’re worried about the very real possibility of blowback against their troops. They’re almost certainly arguing for much more limited strikes that would be mostly cleared with the Russians in advance.
While National Security Advisor Bolton is most certainly pushing his neo-con agenda, trying to convince the president to ignore the general’s fear and simply assume the Russians will go back on their word.

On April 12, a first group of OPCW inspectors arrived in Syria in order to investigate the alleged chemical attack in the town of Douma which took place on April 7. Earlier, Syria’s UN ambassador Bashar Jaafari welcomed the OPCW investigation committee and revealed that the Syrian government is expecting a second group of inspectors to arrive on April 13.

The arrival of the OPCW inspectors in Syria may delay the expected military actions of the US and its allies.

On April 12, US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis revealed that no decision had yet been reached by President Donald Trump about a strike on Syria. Mattis added that the US is still waiting for evidence of the alleged chemical attack. Besides this, the Defense Secretary accused Syria and Russia of undermining the investigation ignoring the fact that Moscow and Damascus had been the initiators of the OPCW investigation mission for Douma.

The situation remains tense.

Kurds in Manbij Receive New Weapons, Western States Intensify Activities in Northern Syria

The US and other western states have increased activities in Northern Syria to support the Kurdish forces in the town of Manbij as tensions between Washington and Ankara have intensified in the region, sources said, adding that the Kurds have received new weapons.
The Arabic-language al-Mayadeen news channel quoted Kurdish sources as saying on Thursday that recently a large volume of weapons have been sent to Manbij in Northern Syria, adding that most of them are Saudi arms.

They also revealed that the US-led coalition has set up a coordination center with the Kurds to protect Manbij from the Turkish army attacks.

Russian envoy slams WHO for recklessly releasing dubious information on Douma incident

Members of the World Health Organization (WHO) exhibited a lack of responsibility when they released allegations that almost 500 people asked for medical help in the Syrian city of Douma on April 7 with symptoms of poisoning. These actions by the WHO employees only serve to egg on those powers that are stoking the conflict in Syria, said Gennady Gatilov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva, in a conversation with TASS.

Gatilov regarded the WHO’s statement as a serious one, highlighting that "it was made right when Syria had experienced a new uptick in tensions."

"We all have been hearing about the possibility of American strikes and the emergence of such a statement plays into the hands of those who strive for a scenario involving the use of force in Syria," the diplomat noted. "We consider it unacceptable."

President Donald Trump signaled disappointment that the world expected the United States to act in Syria in response to the use of chemical weapons in the country.

The White House has declined to comment on why they think they have the legal authority to strike Syria without congressional approval. This comes as the Trump administration puts “all options on the table” and tries to decide how much damage to inflict on the war-torn nation.

The president has the authority to deploy military force in the interest of self-defense, but outside that rationale, the president’s legal authority becomes murkier. And striking Syria is not in the interest of self-defense, but a provocative escalation of war. Critics simply want president Donald Trump to declare why he thinks it’s necessary to inflame an issue over what’s amounting to a false flag chemical attack.

But what the White House does have, is a seven-page memo that they say “makes the case” for a strike.

Panic On Live TV: Shock Statements On Assad And Aleppo

Death of people is always terrible. 3 million children die of hunger every year and it is just as terrible. But no one talks about it. And of course human beings die in war. That’s not the question. The question is: “Why are they dying?” Who got it going? “” Who provoked it?” To finish what I am saying, perhaps even the viewers also want to hear: In Syria the war is being fomented with the supply of arms and training. Training, think of it: The rebels who are shooting civilians are trained by the Americans. Among other things, this has also been written up in their newspaper articles. Then they tell us that when the Syrian army, helped by the Russians, tries to free civilians from an occupied city, where the rebels are holding civilians hostage as human shields, would this be an aggression against the population? But it’s exactly the opposite! The rebels have been defeated and now they come in, EU, France and others, and they want a UN resolution to protect the civilian population.

In seven years, the casualties of Syria’s civil war have grown from the first handful of protesters shot by government forces to hundreds of thousands of dead.

But as the war has dragged on, growing more diffuse and complex, many international monitoring groups have essentially stopped counting.

Even the United Nations, which released regular reports on the death toll during the first years of the war, gave its last estimate in 2016 — when it relied on 2014 data, in part — and said that it was virtually impossible to verify how many had died.

At that time, a United Nations official said 400,000 people had been killed.

‘They can go anywhere they want in Douma’: OPCW team arrives in Syria to investigate alleged attack

The first four chemical weapons experts from the OPCW have arrived in Syria on a fact-finding mission (FFM) into the April 7 Douma incident, while Western leaders continue to blame the government for the alleged attack.

"We will facilitate the arrival of the team to anywhere they want, in Douma, to check whether or not there was use of chemical substances," said Bashar Jaafari, Syria’s envoy to the UN in New York, adding that a second team is due to arrive on Friday.

White House says there is NO decision on revenge strikes on Syria after Trump holds talks with top advisers - despite his tweet that missiles 'will be coming'

The White House said late Thursday afternoon that a 'final decision' had not been made on Syria.

Donald Trump said earlier in the day that Americans won't have to wait long for a response to Saturday's horrifying chemical weapons attack on a rebel-held town that left at least 40 dead and others gasping for air.

But at least two of his top advisers couldn't agree on whether there's sufficient proof to blame the atrocity on dictator Bashar al-Assad's government, leaving the possibility of a retaliatory attack an open-ended question.

‘They can go anywhere they want in Douma’: OPCW team arrives in Syria to investigate alleged attack

The truth is Trump's way out of this mess.

"We will facilitate the arrival of the team to anywhere they want, in Douma, to check whether or not there was use of chemical substances," said Bashar Jaafari, Syria’s envoy to the UN in New York, adding that a second team is due to arrive on Friday.

NBC Reporter Claims U.S. Officials 'Fairly Confident' Assad Behind Attack, Changes Story One Minute Later

NBC News' Courtney Kube reported Thursday that anonymous "US officials" say they're "fairly confident" Bashar al-Assad was behind last week's alleged chemical attack in Douma, but then said one minute later the officials "we're not willing to characterize" their level of confidence to her.

Virginia Senator Richard Black: CIA Is Pushing False Flag In Syria - Claims Hillary Ordered Murder Of Chris Stevens In Benghazi

Our friend Bobby Powell conducted this interview two months ago with Virginia Senator Richard Black. It's not like we haven't been telling people for years the truth about Syria and how the only real problem there is the US funding, training and arming Islamic jihadis to overthrow the Assad regime. And, despite a new president who told you that we didn't need to be there, he's already launched missiles into the country over rumors of an Assad attack with no evidence and is apparently getting ready to attack again with no evidence and no congressional authority as outlined in our Constitution.

Virginia Senator Dick Black exposes the WMD false flag in Syria, which was really carried out by the remnants of ISIS and not Syrian President Assad.

Think. Why would Assad use chemical weapons on civilians, knowing that it would draw world-wide condemnation and US intervention, when the jihadists are surrounded and on the brink of annihilation?

Trump Is Blinking on Syria - Russian Ability to Hit Back Is Too Risky for Him

It is now becoming quite clear that the US and Israel do not hold enough cards in Syria, and have been out-manouvered by Russia/Iran/Syria. The US will either not strike at all, or like a year ago, make symbolic strikes where they have warned the Russians of targets, avoiding any Russian fatalities. All of Trump's terrifying bluster of yesterday was just that, bluster.

Irredeemably Flawed and Deeply Harmful US Coalition Cannot Get the ‘Job’ Done in Syria

Mainstream media in the West would like us to believe that US President Donald Trump is in the process of building a coalition of allies to participate in a multi-nation strike force attack against the Syrian government.

This talk of coalition action reflects the rapid escalation of plans since US officials embraced Saturday’s allegations of a chemical weapons strike. This crisply formulated aphorism just might require a bit of updating:

A- The War Party built that dubious coalition seven years ago to regime change Syria and failed>>>
B-- Instead of a one-off strike, as with last April’s tomahawk missile bombardment of Syria, the US seems to be envisioning starting a wave of attacks against Syria using the chemical pretext all over again>>>
C- This whole saga began when the US and its terror proxies claimed Syrian forces carried out chemical attacks against the rebel-held city of Douma on Saturday. >>>
G- Away from an acute lack of capability, the US and its allies know that a costly, and inconclusive war in the region will certainly destabilize the planet. Israeli-Saudi involvement assures that the war will quickly include Iranian and resistance forces in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine. All of this, as well as the risks of 200 dollars a barrel crude oil and the foolish war expanding across the Yemeni and Syrian borders, has filled the criminals with such fright that a full-scale war is deemed as a bad idea for Washington and a host of lackeys. And that's exactly why the US has embarked on forming a coalition unlike its last year missile strike in the hope that it could convince Moscow to back off and allow a limited strike on Syria. The last time that a nation sought to raise the stakes to convince Moscow to give some room and space to others in Syria was a couple of years ago, when the Russian president proved his skills in using crisis escalation policy and made his Turkish counterpart to extend an official apology for shooting down a Russian warplane. And this is just the beginning and we have not even started talking about Iran's reaction yet. Two senior Iranian commanders were in Syria in mid 2017 and each sent a warning signal to the US and Israel in their statements during their visit to the war-ravaged country, but apparently Washington has treated them as usual words and failed to decipher the message. They need to take a look back to realize that a contained engagement is too small to bring them a share and an effective role in Syria. >>>

Video: Syrian School Children In Rebel-Controlled Area Rehearse Faking a Sarin Chemical Attack

Washington’s Blog received the video above from a British organization with ties to Syria. My contact received this video just last night. We will provide details regarding the video as soon as we receive them. We don’t speak a word of Syrian, and so cannot vouch for the translation.
By way of background, there is no credible evidence that the Syrian government carried out the recent or old chemical weapons attack.

We’ve noted for 5 years that the rebels in Syria have access to chemical weapons. The U.N. has testimony that rebels have used Sarin. And see this.

The U.S. State Department has admitted that the rebels have chemical weapons:

Tactics of ISIS, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, and other violent extremist groups include the use of suicide bombers, kidnapping, small and heavy arms, improvised explosive devices, and chemical weapons.
