Amazon paid just £15m in tax on European revenues of £19.5bn

Amazon paid just €16.5m (£15m) in tax on European revenues of €21.6bn (£19.5bn) reported through Luxembourg in 2016.

The figures, published in Amazon’s latest annual accounts for its European online retail business, are likely to reignite the debate about US tech companies using complex crossborder arrangements to minimise the tax they pay across the continent.

Separately, Amazon UK Services – the company’s warehouse and logistics operation that employs almost two-thirds of its 24,000 UK staff – more than halved its declared UK corporation tax bill from £15.8m to £7.4m year-on-year in 2016.

The cut came despite turnover at the UK business, which handles the packing and delivery of parcels and functions such as customer service, rising from £946m to £1.46bn.

Death Spiral: 6.5 Million People Choose To Pay Tax Rather Than Buy Obamacare

For those who still aren't convinced that Obamacare is trapped in an inescapable death spiral that will inevitably end in nothing short of an epic collapse of the federal and state health insurance exchanges, perhaps you should consider the following facts from the National Review and Mark Farrah and Associates.

Farmer Heartbroken After Cop ‘Feared for His Life’ and Killed His Prize Goat

Portland, OR — Matt Minnick is a small farmer in Portland who is now very upset after a Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputy shot and killed his top breeding goat Sunday morning.

Because of the new construction by Minnick’s property, some damage was caused to a portion of his fence that his $1,200 prized New Zealand goat named Volt managed to escape through.

Volt was not some pit bull or rabid German Shepard — he was a goat.

As a friendly reminder, when children go to petting zoos, they are surrounded by these animals. There are thousands of petting zoos throughout the country at which children interact with goats on a daily basis. Amazingly enough, none of these children ‘fear for their lives’ and kill any of these goats

The IRS Scandal, Day 1552: The IRS's Email Retention Policies Still Do Not Ensure That Emails Are Retained And Produced When Requested

IRS policies do not comply with certain Federal requirements that agencies must ensure that all records are retrievable and usable for as long as needed. For example, IRS e-mail retention policies are not adequate because e-mails are not automatically archived for all IRS employees. Instead, the IRS’s current policy instructs employees to take manual actions to archive e-mails by saving them permanently on computer hard drives or network shared drives.

This policy has resulted in lost records when computer hard drives are destroyed or damaged. In addition, a recently instituted executive e-mail retention policy, which should have resulted in the archiving of e-mails from specific executives, was not implemented effectively because some executives did not turn on the automatic archiving feature.

Gee! Wonder who is manipulating the Peso. The NWO Boys don't like this guy.

While the peso’s dip is raising eyebrows in a region where the Thai baht and the Malaysian ringgit are flirting with multi-year highs, it’s come mainly because the Philippines, one of the world’s fastest growing economies, has been enjoying a construction boom.

Besides private construction, companies like Teravera are confident of more contracts coming from the government’s drive to upgrade its dilapidated roads, railways, ports and airports, which have been a drag on the economy.

Surprised? Massive Weed Shortage in Nevada Orchestrated by Big Alcohol

This is bizarre.

Las Vegas, NV Ever since recreational cannabis was legalized for retail sale a few weeks ago, dispensaries have had difficulty maintaining their stock and say they will run out if the broken supply chain is not fixed.

We didn't know the demand would be this intense, Al Fasano, co-founder of Las Vegas ReLeaf, told the Los Angeles Times. All of a sudden you have like a thousand people at the door! We have to tell people we are limited in our products.

TFTP spoke to a dispensary owner in Nevada who explained that there is plenty of cannabis to go around. However, thanks to the alcohol distributors who are distributing the cannabis the dispensaries have no product.

Since then, the CIA used the mercenaries to fight more proxy wars in the Balkans, Chechnya, and Azerbaijan. Due to the wars of aggression against Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen the US and its vassal states created sectarian violence that led to civil wars. Right now, the CIA and the Muslim Brotherhood are present in the form of ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

Marijuana Industry Projected To Create More Jobs Than Manufacturing By 2020

Jobs. That is what the marijuana industry hopes will keep the Trump administration from cracking down on cannabis companies.

A new report from New Frontier Data projects that by 2020 the legal cannabis market will create more than a quarter of a million jobs. This is more than the expected jobs from manufacturing, utilities or even government jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Cannabis Industry Apocalypse

Here is the plan.Sessions plans to seize the assets of the big Cannabis companies and use it to bust more people.

Another important clue to their plans comes from a recent DOJ announcement that the DOJ will no longer be donating part of the proceeds that it receives from civil asset forfeitures to a variety of non-profit groups but will instead be keeping all the proceeds for itself to be used for increased staffing and greater enforcement.

In order to address the lack of budget necessary to start large scale enforcement, the Christie Plan lays out the following actions:

Issue Subpoenas to the twenty-nine states that have legalized cannabis, in any form, and demand their entire set of licensing records, for growers, dispensers, doctors, and users.
Use conventional DOJ budgets to hire new DOJ staff to fight the states that refuse to turn over their licensing records. The DOJ will sue each state, in order or revenue, for compliance.

Venting his frustration, Trump said: “Let Obamacare fail and it will be a lot easier. And I think we’re probably in that position where we’ll let Obamacare fail. We’re not going to own it. I’m not going to own it. I can tell you the Republicans are not going to own it. We’ll let Obamacare fail and then the Democrats are going to come to us.”

2 more GOP senators oppose health bill, killing it for now

The latest GOP effort to repeal and replace "Obamacare" was fatally wounded in the Senate Monday night when two more Republican senators announced their opposition to legislation strongly backed by President Donald Trump.

The announcements from Sens. Mike Lee of Utah and Jerry Moran of Kansas left the Republican Party's long-promised efforts to get rid of President Barack Obama's health care legislation reeling. Next steps, if any, were not immediately clear.

Lee and Moran both said they could not support Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's legislation in its current form. They joined GOP Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Rand Paul of Kentucky, both of whom announced their opposition right after McConnell released the bill last Thursday.

FALSE FLAG: A NEW REPORT IN SWEDEN REVEALS ERDO?AN ORCHESTRATED JULY 15 COUP IN TURKEY

Last year’s failed coup attempt in Turkey is nothing but a false flag orchestrated by Turkey’s autocratic President Recep Tayip Erdo?an and his henchmen to create a pretext for a mass persecution of critics and opponents in a state of perpetual emergency, a new detailed study titled ‘July 15: Erdo?an’s Coup’ by Stockholm Center for Freedom (SCF) concluded.
Based on publicly available data, the coup indictments, testimonials in court trials, private interviews, reviews of military expert opinions and other evidence collected by researchers, SCF is fairly confident that this attempt did not even qualify a coup bid in any sense of military mobilization which was unusually limited in numbers, confined in few cities, poorly managed, defied the established practices, tradition, rules of engagement and standard operating procedures in Turkish military.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The aftermath of this "false coup" gave Erdogan the political "cover" he needed to push his hard-line, autocratic regime into full power control mode.

This was an absolute tragedy for freedom, and for the Turkish people.

Washington Has Been At War For 16 Years: Why?

Paul Craig Roberts

For sixteen years the US has been at war in the Middle East and North Africa, running up trillions of dollars in expenses, committing untold war crimes, and sending millions of war refugees to burden Europe, while simultaneously claiming that Washington cannot afford its Social Security and Medicare obligations or to fund a national health service like every civilized country has.

Considering the enormous social needs that cannot be met because of the massive cost of these orchestrated wars, one would think that the American people would be asking questions about the purpose of these wars. What is being achieved at such enormous costs? Domestic needs are neglected so that the military/security complex can grow fat on war profits.

The lack of curiousity on the part of the American people, the media, and Congress about the purpose of these wars, which have been proven to be based entirely on lies, is extraordinary.

As Naomi Klein warns, Trump’s “rolling shock of the chaos and spectacle” distracts from radical actions both at home and abroad. Across the Middle East, the administration drives the United States ever further into wars without end, increasing the dangers of direct military confrontation with Russia and Iran, with little awareness and no mandate from the American people. This is a recipe for calamity.

The Buttinski Should Butt Out of Korea

No negotiations. No agreements. No talks. Just butt out of what is none of your business and exit the scene by coming home.

Why are there 23,000 U.S. troops in Korea? It’s because the U.S. government, headed by President Harry S. Truman and his newly established national-security establishment, decided to intervene in another country’s civil war more than half-a-century ago.

Victim of Yemen's war: the death of Jamila, aged 7

Look at that little girls face. That is what Americans allow the ghouls in the district of criminals to do to children all over the Planet. SHAME!

By Abduljabbar Zeyad | HODEIDAH, Yemen

Eyes half open and sunken deep into their sockets, little Jamila Ali Abdu already looked half dead for most of her 12-day stay at the malnutrition ward of Yemen's Hodeidah hospital.

Too weak to resist the march of disease and hunger in her war-battered country, the seven-year-old's tiny frame was swathed in a childishly bright green shroud and lowered by sobbing relatives into a dusty grave on Tuesday.

California Wants Another Tax, and This Time, It is "By the Mile"

Living in California is already hard enough on those who are being taxed to the hilt. But the Golden State thinks that it needs to make sure they generate more income, and now the socialists in charge want to tax space flights by the miles traveled.

Although this seems like it could be a joke, it isn’t. This is actually being considered in California, and will likely pass based on the state’s history of expanding taxation.

Charges dropped against immigrant teens in high school rape case

They are NOT immigrants. They are both illegal aliens. Fourteen year old girls can't give consent in any state I know about. Although one of these illegal aliens is still charged with possession of child pornography. They will probably drop that charge too.

May 5 (UPI) -- Rape and other charges were dropped Friday against two teens in a Rockville, Md., case that fed into the national debate over immigration.

Prosecutors said they will drop charges against Jose Montano, 17, and Henry Sanchez Milian, 18, though a case of child pornography possession related to images on Sanchez Milian's cellphone would be pursued.

Trump's tax plan a new death tax for the middle class?

The Trump tax reform plan calls for eliminating the estate tax. That’s a gift to the wealthiest Americans, who are virtually the only ones who pay it. But what makes this worse is something the plan doesn’t mention: President Trump and Congressional Republicans have also proposed eliminating the "stepped-up basis" on capital gains, which could amount to a new death tax on the middle class.

A Tax Cut Big Enough To Save the Economy (May kill it instead, says Peter Schiff)

Donald Trump has made good on one of his most audacious campaign promises by submitting what he describes as the biggest tax cut in U.S. History. For once, at least, this does not appear to be Trumpian braggadocio. It really may be the mother of all tax cuts. But if passed, what may this bunker buster do to the economy? While I have rarely met a tax cut I didn’t like, this one just may be more likely to send the economy into a downward spiral than it is to send up to orbit.

Italian police say Amazon has evaded 130 million euros of taxes

Milan tax police have told Amazon they believes the world's largest online retailer has evaded around 130 million euros ($142 million) of taxes in Italy, a source close to the matter said on Friday.

The allegedly unpaid taxes refer to the period between 2011 and 2015, when Amazon (AMZN.O) made revenues of around 2.5 billion euros in Italy, the source said.

The tax police's findings have been handed to Milan prosecutors, the source added.

Amazon issued a statement denying it had evaded any taxes, and said its profits in Italy, on which taxes are paid, had been low due to its considerable investments in the country.

The Libertarian Way To Tip

Is this stupid anarchic libertarianism at its most extreme? Or is this a bold statement made by a man or woman with real principles they prefer to stand by? The world has weighed in as this post has over 1,700 comments arguing for or against the libertarian way to leave a tip. Surely, there is some stimulating dialogue in that thread.

Italy to Raise Taxes to Satisfy Brussels – Why the Euro Will Fail

The European Union (EU) has been pushing Italy for a very long time to reduce its deficit. Of course, governments are never capable of reducing their own expenditure. This results going in only one direction – raising taxes. Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni had to agree on the concrete measures. The bill is now being discussed in Parliament, which has 60 days to pass. Italy has the second highest debt in the Eurozone after Greece.

The Looting Machine Called Capitalism

Capitalism is the Banksters economic system they have imposed on the Planet.
America's Original economic system was free enterprise. When the Brits tried to impose an early form of capitalism on America known as Mercantilism they got a Revolution. The Banksters eventually got us back into their Satanic Economic System. PCR is 100% right. Capitalism and its handmaiden fractional reserve banking also known as Usury are nothing but a Gigantic Looting and Killing Machine!
The Looting Machine Called Capitalism
Paul Craig Roberts

I have come to the conclusion that capitalism is successful primarily because it can impose the majority of the costs associated with its economic activities on outside parties and on the environment. In other words, capitalists make profits because their costs are externalized and born by others. In the US, society and the environment have to pick up the tab produced by capitalist activity.
