IRS Awards Multi-Million Dollar Fraud-Prevention Contract To Equifax Who Was Hacked TWICE

By Aaron Kesel

You can’t make this up. The IRS awarded Equifax with a multi-million dollar fraud prevention no-bid contract despite that its own execs committed market fraud when they sold shares before telling the public they were hacked.

The IRS will pay Equifax $7.25 million to help verify taxpayer identities and prevent fraud under a no-bid contract issued last week...

Paying Income Taxes on Crops Eaten by Locusts

The present federal tax code allows deductions for state income taxes. This is as it should be. Why? Because we should not have to pay taxes on what the locusts consume before we harvest the crop.

Trump’s Tax Plan Is An Act Of Political Domination By The Rich

Why do so many people work 60-hour weeks for poverty wages while a few luxuriate in the fabulous returns of interest-bearing assets? Why are the citizens of Puerto Rico threatened by a deadly social collapse while the fruit of the island’s labor is shipped to Wall Street bondholders? The answer surely cannot be that some wealthy members of our society are exercising political power over the lives and incomes of others. We must consider growth, productivity, liquidity, gross domestic product and the debt-to-GDP ratio.

“I Thought I Was Middle-Class?”

When I saw that slimy tentacle of the Goldman Sachs vampire squid, Gary Cohn, bloviating about Trump’s tax plan and how it was going to do wonders for the middle class, I knew I was probably going to get screwed again. And after perusing the outline of their plan, it is certain I will be getting it up the ass once again from my beloved government. Don’t Fall for Tax Reform

It’s a con, and a shell game. It’s a promise every presidential candidate makes, including Trump. But we ought to be suspicious of grandiose talk about Congress reforming anything. Tax reform proposals always evade and obscure the real issue, which is the total cost– financial, compliance, and human– taxes impose on society. The fundamental questions about war and entitlements and state power go unasked. We never consider whether Congress really needs to spend more than $4 trillion in 2018, or how it managed to double federal spending in only 15 years.

Lost in the tax reform debate

The biggest concern for politicians is whether the overhaul will result in a net loss of revenue for the government. This implies two things: 1) that the money belongs to the government; and 2) that the government could not function with less money. Neither of these is true. Years of study and observation tell me that not one person in a million understands the income tax. The income tax is probably the greatest deception and fraud in history, because it is the foundation of a private monetary system. The very few who do understand vomit every time they hear the word “democracy.”

Gary Cohn: "I Can't Guarantee" Taxes Won't Go Up For The Middle Class

While proclaiming that "the biggest winners will be everyday American workers," President Trump's top economic adviser, Gary Cohn told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos that he can't guarantee that taxes won't go up for some middle-class families under the administration's sweeping tax overhaul.

"The biggest winners will be the everyday American workers as jobs start pouring into our country, as companies start competing for American labor and as wages start going up at levels that you haven't seen in many years," Trump said.

Following Matt Drudge's cries of "betrayal" yesterday, it appears confusion truly reigns as to just who benefits from the so-called 'greatest tax cuts in the history of the world' as we know absolutely nothing because the government has yet to release the income brackets (or get close to guessing at just how 'progressive' and 'punitive' the optional 4th bracket will be).

here's what Wall Street is saying about Trump's tax plan

All the goodies but none of the pain' — here's what Wall Street is saying about Trump's tax plan
***
If the tax plan gave Wall Street anything to work with immediately, it comes on the markets front, where the so-called Trump trade was alive and well Wednesday. Both highly taxed US companies and multinational corporations with large overseas cash holdings rallied as traders bought assets expected to benefit most from a change in tax policy. Here's a more detailed look at trade recommendations.

Without further ado, here's a roundup of Wall Street commentary on the tax plan:>>>

Half of Americans currently pay no federal income tax at all!

The Trump-Ryan tax cuts don’t solve any of our problems, unless you believe that the wealthy don’t have quite enough money yet. But the latest figures from the Federal Reserve show that the top 1% is capturing a greater share of both national income and wealth. House Speaker Paul Ryan calls tax cuts the “secret sauce” for a better economy. But that the secret sauce is just the same old ketchup and mayo.

U.S. CONDUCTS FIRST AIRSTRIKE IN LIBYA UNDER TRUMP ADMINISTRATION

On 22 September, the US conducted an airstrike on an ISIS camp in the desert valleys about 150 miles south-east of Sirte, reportedly killing 17 ISIS fighters and destroying 3 vehicles. US Africa Command (Africom) said the strikes were carried out by armed Reaper drones flying from a base in Sicily. Reda Eissa, a spokesman for the Government of National Accord’s (GNA) Misrata-led al-Bunyan al-Marsus (BM) coalition said he had no information about the airstrikes. Interestingly, the Libyan National Army (LNA) also said that it conducted airstrikes against ISIS targets near Sadada, west of Sirte, on the same day.

Illegals costing Americans RECORD $135 billion a year…

The swelling population of illegal immigrants and their kids is costing American taxpayers $135 billion a year, the highest ever, driven by free medical care, education and a huge law enforcement bill, according to the the most authoritative report on the issue yet.... And despite claims from pro-illegal immigration advocates that the aliens pay significant off-setting taxes back to federal, state and local treasuries, the Federation for American Immigration Reform report tallied just $19 billion, making the final hit to taxpayers about $116 billion.

At the same time that the federal government was collecting a record $2,966,172,000,000 in tax revenues, it was spending $3,639,882,000,000—and, thus, running a deficit of $673,711,000,000.

Remember back in 2012 when then-vice president Joe Biden told us, "Bin Laden is dead; General Motors is alive"? The good old days. A new poll out Tuesday shows that the Trump administration and the GOP-controlled Congress could win major confidence points with Americans on both sides of the political divide if Washington delivers on a reform package to simplify the tax code and provide cuts for the middle class. According to the polling data out from the American Action Network, 73 percent of Americans believe comprehensive tax reform legislation should be a major priority for Congress.

The NFL: Big Business With Big Tax Breaks

If You Build It ...

Besides the tax exemption, the NFL can also get a break through big stadium deals. Take, for example, the Dallas Cowboys.

In the late 1990s, the Dallas Cowboys and the team's owner, Jerry Jones, began plans to expand their stadium or build a new one. Jones shopped in and around Dallas for years, asking for public assistance to fund the stadium.

He found an audience in Arlington, a city just outside of Dallas. The price tag for the public was $325 million. (Jones was responsible for the balance of the money for the $1.2 billion stadium. Dallas News says Jones' contribution "was paid with commercial loans, league funding and proceeds from a ticket and parking tax.")

Revoke the NFL's Antitrust Exemption

Indeed, were the NFL not subject to an antitrust exemption granted to it by our compromised Congress, thanks to the sport’s lobbyists having spread “beaucoup” money all over Capitol Hill, the club of uber rich owners who make their own rules with impunity could be charged under RICO, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, for price fixing, market division and other illegal anti-competitive acts. As a former Justice Department Antitrust Division prosecutor who was on the trial team that broke up AT&T during the Reagan administration for price fixing and market division, take it from me!

Mattis: Budget Uncertainty Endangers US Survival

It’s a time honored tradition for Defense Secretaries to complain about the budget caps imposed in 2011, even though Congress has literally never failed to circumvent those caps. James Mattis followed that trend of alarmism, but seemingly at the worst possible time.

Mattis claimed that budget uncertainty has him questioning “whether or not America has the ability to survive.” The US, of course, spends many-fold more on their military than any other nation>>>

The Senate’s Military Spending Increase Alone Is Enough to Make Public College Free

One of the most controversial proposals put forward by Sen. Bernie Sanders during the 2016 presidential campaign was a pledge to make tuition free at public colleges and universities. Critics from both parties howled that the pie-in-the-sky idea would bankrupt the country. Where, after all, would the money come from?

Those concerns were brushed aside Monday night, as the Senate overwhelmingly approved an $80 billion annual increase in military spending>>>

This $586.56 San Francisco Lawsuit Could Destroy The Entire 'Gig Economy'

Of course, the entire business model for companies like Uber hangs in the balance as adding 1,000s of employees to their own payrolls would drastically change, if not completely destroy, their business model.

For now, these employers bring on 1099 contractors to avoid paying taxes, overtime pay, benefits and workers' compensation. But, if that were to change, the cost of that Uber trip would suddenly look a lot like your taxi fare from 10 years ago.

Trump sides with Democrats on debt ceiling, budget over GOP objections

Congress must pass a budget by Sept. 30 or the government will run out of money. The debt limit needs to be increased this month. Republican Senate leaders had considered combining the debt limit with emergency aid to help the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, but were vague about the length of the debt limit extension. Democrats, though, pushed for a three-month extension for both the debt limit and the budget. They felt that would give them time to build constituencies for pet projects, notably immigration and spending.

The Donald’s Seinfeld Tax Plan – A Big Show About Nothing

Trump said the tax reform package will be introduced on “Wednesday or shortly thereafter,” just before his 100th day in office. While the president would not reveal details about the tax plan, he did say that the cuts will be “bigger I believe than any tax cut ever.” -- Well, we’ve passed the eighteenth Wednesday since that promise. What was actually delivered back then, of course, was a one-page statement of vague principles, fond aspirations and apple pie.

When Right Is Wrong

As much as I have to remind people (and be a bit harsh) : Foreign aid is simply the looting of American taxpayers. The government has no right to take money from Americans against their will and give it to foreigners or their governments—regardless of the need, crisis, or circumstances, and regardless of where the money goes, how much is spent, what the terms are, or what the supposed benefits are.

Conservative group hoping for 'perp walks' after breakthrough in IRS lawsuit

One of the groups that sued the Internal Revenue Service over its targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups believes there has been a breakthrough that will help them draw a more complete picture of what went on behind the scenes at the agency, four years after it took its case to court.

In a lawsuit involving True the Vote, Judge Reggie B. Walton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ordered the IRS last week to release the names of employees involved in targeting conservative and Tea Party groups. Walton also told the IRS to explain why groups were targeted and search for additional records in agency databases from May 2009 to March 2015.

The IRS has until Oct. 16 to complete its records search.

Americans on average spent more on taxes in 2016 than they did on food and clothing combined, according to data released this week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

HAS HE PAID HIS TAXES YET? George Soros Had Until 2017 To Pay $7 Billion In Taxes After Avoiding IRS!

In 2015 numerous publications including Fox News, Bloomberg, and Forbes reported that George Soros owed billions of dollars in unpaid taxes after finding ways to avoid the IRS.

Fox News reported: George Soros may soon face a monumental tax bill — of nearly $7 billion — after years of playing hard-to-get with the IRS.

Despite Soros having advocated for higher taxes on the wealthy, the liberal billionaire reportedly has delayed paying his own for years thanks to a loophole in U.S. law.

IRS REHIRES HUNDREDS OF EMPLOYEES FIRED FOR FRAUD, THEFT, ABUSING TAXPAYER DATA

The Inspector General for Tax Administration has discovered that under Commissioner John Koskinen, the Internal Revenue Service re-hired 212 employees it had previously fired for offenses including tax evasion, theft, and abuse of taxpayer data.

The title of the report makes it clear that the IRS “continues to rehire former employees with conduct and performance issues.” The inspection was requested by a U.S. Senator, who is not named in the report, although Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) introduced legislation to block the agency from rehiring such employees shortly after the report was released.
