PENTAGON TO START CREATING SPACE FORCE — EVEN BEFORE CONGRESS APPROVES IT

Within months, DoD will start standing up a new combatant command, a new space-procurement agency, and a new Space Operations Force. The U.S. Defense Department this week will take the first steps to create the Space Force, a new branch of the military ordered up by President Trump but not yet fully backed by Congress.

LEADER OF AL-QAEDA IN SYRIA CONTINUES TO RECEIVE FREE PASS ON YOU TUBE WHILE AMERICANS WHO EXPOSE SYRIAN WAR ARE CENSORED AND BANNED

The following post reveals that as of July 27, 2018, the Saudi cleric leader of al-Nusra Front (al-Qaeda in Syria) Abdullah al-Muhaysini still has his own channel up and running on You Tube. This post is highly important because, not only does it point out that terrorists are being given a free pass by western governments and the Powers That Be in the current age of Internet censorship against western citizens accused of bullying and spreading 'false' news, but it also provides evidence that the leader of al-Qaeda in Syria has been working directly with the White Helmets who are a western funded propaganda construct that has employed terrorists to destroy Syria, terrorists who were recently pulled out of Syria by the Israeli government and are now being repatriated into western countries.

A simple You Tube search provides the evidence that al-Qaeda's leader in Syria is fully operational on You Tube.

Screenshot of currently active You Tube videos of Abdullah al-Muhaysini:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable!

And yet algorithms for You Tube and Facebook push sites like WRH, which constantly struggles to tell readers the truth, down to where people cannot see us, or hear us, and are subjected to absolute electronic oblivion.

Folks, You Tube and Facebook are simply distractions from the real world, where everything you post is collected and siphoned off to US alphabet soup agencies; it is really better to shun them as though they collectively had the plague.

The Madness Gripping Washington

The United States and Israel have been threatening Iran for something like twenty years, using the pretext that it was developing a nuclear weapon initially, but also more recently declaring that Tehran has become a threat to the entire Middle East. Both contentions are essentially lies, concocted by an Israel and Saudi Arabia that would prefer to have Iran removed as a possible impediment to their own ambitions. And they would like the United States to do the removing.

Pentagon Signs $885 Million Artificial Intelligence Contract with Booz Allen

The U.S. Department of Defense will for the first time be using large-scale artificial intelligence systems that could automate mundane tasks and augment the work of military members as a result of an $885 million five-year contract, said Josh Sullivan, senior vice president at government consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton.

The technology will allow the Defense Department to better compete with nations including China and Russia, said Mr. Sullivan, who leads the analytics business for Booz Allen.

“Part of this is (about) making sure our government has the access to the best technology and using it responsibly in service of our citizens and warfighters,” he said.

A PERMANENT EMERGENCY: TRUMP BECOMES THIRD PRESIDENT TO RENEW EXTRAORDINARY POST-9/11 POWERS

President Trump has become the third president to renew a post-9/11 emergency proclamation, stretching what was supposed to be a temporary state of national emergency after the 2001 terror attacks into its 17th year.

But the ongoing effects of that perpetual emergency aren't immediately clear, because the executive branch has ignored a law requiring it to report to Congress every six months on how much the president has spent under those extraordinary powers, USA TODAY has found.

Exactly 16 years ago Thursday, President Bush signed Proclamation 7463, giving himself sweeping powers to mobilize the military in the days following terrorist attacks that crashed planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a Pennsylvania field. It allowed him to call up National Guard and Reserve troops, hire and fire military officers, and bypass limits on the numbers of generals that could serve.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These powers should be immediately rescinded, because 9/11 was an inside job, engineered to get the general public to buy off on an invasion of Afghanistan, because the Taliban refused to lease their oil pipelines for what Bush's DC felt was a "reasonable" amount of money.

US diplomats secretly met with Taliban without Afghan government

For over a decade, the Taliban have refused to negotiate with the Afghan government, which they view as a puppet regime controlled by Washington. They have instead sought to speak directly with the United States, without Kabul’s mediation. In 2015, the United States sought to initiate peace talks with the Taliban in the Qatari capital Doha, but the effort collapsed after the Afghan government denounced it and demanded a seat at the table. The negotiation process has remained dormant since then.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me slightly hopeful on this change of both heart, and tactics, by the Trump administration.

A 17 year long military failure is quite enough, thank you very much.

What needs to happen now, is for the Taliban to become incorporated into the fabric of the Afghani government, have representation politically, so that all parties can look at a real chance to end this insane war, and get the NATO and US soldiers out of the country.

US confirms deployment of armed drones in Niger

The United States military's Africa Command has confirmed that its forces began deploying armed drones in Niger earlier this year.

The West African country's government granted American forces permission in November 2017 to arm their drones - but neither side had previously confirmed their deployment.

"In coordination with the Government of Niger, US Africa Command has armed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft already in Niger to improve our combined ability to respond to threats and other security issues in the region. Armed ISR aircraft began flying in early 2018," Samantha Reho, spokeswoman for US Africa Command told The Associated Press on Monday.

Lawmakers Want to Know if US Troops Are Ready for Arctic Warfare

Lawmakers want Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to submit a report to Congress on whether the U.S. military services have the equipment and training they need to survive in cold-weather combat.

The proposal appeared in the House Armed Services Committee's latest version of the "John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019."

Conferees want Mattis to submit a report to the congressional defense committees "not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act on current cold weather capabilities and readiness of the United States Armed Forces," the document states.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US Considering Attacking Iran, With Saudi Forces Leading Strike

Is the United States preparing to attack Iran? On Friday, Defense Secretary James Mattis dismissed this idea as “fiction,” back when the sources were in the Australian military. Yet other US officials have since been quoted as saying the attack is still being considered.

The pretext for this war appears to be the ongoing Yemen War. Last week, Saudi state media claimed that Yemen’s Houthi rebels attacked and slightly damaged a Saudi oil tanker. The Saudis have previously alleged the Houthis are tied to Iran, and US media is treating this as some sort of transference, and reporting that Iran attacked the Saudi oil tanker, even though no one alleged that ever happened.

Since the US has spent years presenting oil security as a reason for war with Iran, they are considering using that excuse. Officials say that this would be mostly a Saudi-led attack, with Saudi Arabia and its allies doing the bulk of the fighting, and relying on the US for support.

AS VA CONTINUES TO HOOK VETERANS ON DANGEROUS OPIOIDS, LOCAL GROWERS OFFER THEM FREE CANNABIS

Santa Cruz, CA – While the United States federal government and the Department of Veterans Affairs continue their efforts to keep cannabis from the people who need it the most, local growers are starting a movement in a state that is known for its “big government,” in an effort to make a difference in their community.

It is no secret that the VA has a history of failing to provide proper medical care for the veterans in its care. In fact, in 2015, a leaked document showed that more than 238,000 veterans died waiting for treatment, according to the Department of Veteran Affairs’ backlog.

When veterans do receive treatment, it comes in the form prescription drugs, many of which are opioid painkillers and antidepressants that are highly addictive, have alarming and dangerous side effects, and have been shown to worsen the symptoms they are supposed to treat.

ISLAMIC STATE DRONE PROGRAM STUDY REVEALS NATO RATLINES

Despite attempts by the US and European media to depict the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) in cartoon villain terms, it was always clear to serious analysis that the terrorist organization’s fighters, weapons, supplies and money were entering Syria and the result of extensive outside support.

A look at any map of the Syrian conflict, regardless of its source over the past 7 years shows IS and other militant groups maintaining territory with corridors leading directly to the borders of Syria’s neighbors, particularly NATO-member Turkey and US allies Israel and Jordan.

There have been direct admissions from the US itself that it played a role in IS’ creation. A 2013 leaked US Defense Intelligence Agency memo (.pdf) would explicitly note that the US and its allies sought the creation of what it then called a “Salafist principality” in eastern Syria, precisely where IS would later establish itself.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable: ISIS was a created "frenemy", against which the US government could rail when it wanted to as being the "ultimate villain in the Middle East, while the US government was supporting it with weapons and money.

MAINSTREAM JOURNALIST TRACKED MISSILE CASINGS USED BY AL-QAEDA AND THEY ALL CAME FROM US BASES

Finally, a journalist for a mainstream UK media outlet is methodically tracking weapons shipment serial numbers and English-language paperwork recovered from al-Qaeda groups in Syria, and he’s literally showing up at arms factories and questioning arms dealers, including officials at the Saudi Embassy in London, asking: why are your weapons in the hands of terrorists?

Veteran Middle East war correspondent Robert Fisk recently published a bombshell report entitled, I traced missile casings in Syria back to their original sellers, so it’s time for the west to reveal who they sell arms to. In it Fisk recalls a bit of detective sleuthing he’s lately been engaged in after stumbling upon a batch of missile casings and shipment paperwork last year hidden in what he describes as “the basement of a bombed-out Islamist base in eastern Aleppo” with the words “Hughes Aircraft Co/Guided Missile Surface Attack” emblazoned on the side of the spent tubes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In the world of reporting geopolitics, Robert Fisk has always been an industrial-strength, tell-it-like-it-is guy.

And the reason he has found these western markings on the bombs and bullets he's looking at, is that the west was supporting these terrorists with weapons and money, to attempt to bring down the duly elected government of Syria.

The US Navy’s fighter woes are boosting Boeing’s bottom line

The U.S. Navy’s ongoing aviation readiness crisis has been a boon for Boeing as the service looks to make its Super Hornet fleet healthy again after years of hard use in the war on terrorism.

Boeing’s Super Hornets are helping push sales of its defense operations business in a positive direction, contributing to a more than 10 percent year-to-date sales growth, according to analysts and company executives speaking on a quarterly earnings call this week.

A total of 46 new Super Hornets — 18 for the U.S. Navy and 28 for Kuwait — are leading the way, but the company is also making a lot of money on the Navy’s quest to modernize and extend the life of its workhorse jets. All told, the Navy is planning to modernize all its current jets and buy dozens more in its quest to dig out of a severe readiness hole.

Macron greenlights military budget boost, but what is he aiming for?

Emmanuel Macron, whose presidency is mired in political rows at home, recently approved a bulky military plan in which more money will be spent on foreign missions. Is he becoming an interventionist, and what is it all about?

French President Emmanuel Macron, a photogenic liberal who promised to fix the stagnating economy and rising unemployment, among other domestic problems, when he entered Elysee Palace, is now focusing on the military. By approving a massive €200bn ($233.5bn) military budget plan for the next five years, Macron has reversed years of defense spending cuts. A new programme signed in July means the budget is set to grow by almost €1.7bn a year until 2023, going beyond Macron's presidential term, and by €3bn afterwards.

HOW MOSSAD, ISRAEL'S SECRET SERVICE, HAS BECOME THE WORLD LEADER IN ASSASSINS WITH 800 OPERATIONS IN THE LAST DECADE

Forty years ago, Wadie Haddad was one of the world’s most wanted men. Bold, determined, ruthless, Haddad was the founder of the far-Left Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

He trained notorious terrorist Carlos the Jackal and masterminded the hijack of an Air France plane that was flown to Entebbe in Uganda and later rescued by Israeli commandos.

Not surprisingly, the Israeli secret service, Mossad, wanted him dead. But six years after they first put out a ‘kill order’, Haddad was still very much alive, living in apparent comfort in Baghdad.

What happened next was worthy of a James Bond thriller. On January 10, 1978, a Mossad agent inside Haddad’s inner circle, known only as Sadness, switched his toothpaste for an identical tube laced with a deadly toxin, developed in a secret laboratory near Tel Aviv.

Every time Haddad brushed his teeth, a tiny quantity of the toxin worked its way through his gums into his bloodstream.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mossad did the same thing to Yasser Arafat, by poisoning his toothpaste with polonium.

But for a country which boasts about itself being a bastion of alleged "democracy" (except for the Palestinians, of course), being #1 in the world for assassinations is, indeed, a thoroughly dubious distinction.

Paul Craig Roberts Exposes The All-Pervasive Military-Security Complex

The article is long but very important and is worth a careful read. It shows that the military/security complex has woven itself so tightly into the American social, economic, and political fabric as to be untouchable. President Trump is an extremely brave or foolhardy person to take on this most powerful and pervasive of all US institutions by trying to normalize US relations with Russia, chosen by the military/security complex as the “enemy” that justifies its enormous budget and power.

In 1961 President Eisenhower in his last public address to the American people warned us about the danger to democracy and accountable government presented by the military/industrial complex.

You can imagine how much stronger the complex is 57 years later after decades of Cold War with the Soviet Union.

'No Matter What': US Poised to Deploy Space-Based Weapons by 2020 – Reports

In mid-June, US President Donald Trump ordered the country's Department of Defense to create the Space Force as the sixth branch of the US Armed Forces. He said that the goal is to outpace such nations as China and Russia.

The US House of Representatives has passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2019, which specifically stipulates "the development and deployment of persistent space-based sensor architecture" by the end of 2022 to ensure the effectiveness of the country's missile defenses.

The 716 billion-dollar defense spending bill, in other words, will prompt the US military to work on new early warning satellites to destroy incoming ballistic missiles from space "no matter what" and even if "the [US] Missile Defense Agency argues against" all this, according to The Drive, a website.

Mattis Rejects Viral Australian Report On Impending US Iran Strikes

A day after an Australian ABC report went viral with the claim that the White House has drawn up plans to strike Iran's alleged nuclear facilities as early as next month, Defense Secretary James Mattis said on Friday morning it's a "complete fiction".

The Australian Broadcast Corporation report cited high level defense and intelligence figures: "Senior figures in the Australia's Turnbull government have told the ABC they believe the US is prepared to bomb Iran's nuclear capability," and perhaps most alarmingly added, "The bombing could be as early as next month."

Fox News national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin questioned Mattis about the report on Friday:

I asked Mattis about report US preparing strikes against Iran.

MATTIS: "I have no idea where the Australian news people got that information. I am confident it is not something that is being considered right now. I think it is a complete, frankly, it's fiction."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Right now, I would tend to believe the reports by Australian Broadcasting Corporation, over what Mattis is saying; I believe, however, that they got their timing wrong.

Please remember; 4 November is the "drop dead date" which President Trump has imposed upon the entire world, for not buying Iranian oil.

That date is the Sunday, before the US primaries, which occur Tuesday, 6 November.

I think it very likely for the Trump administration, using Israel intel, to do some kind of definitive military action against Iran either on the 4th, or the 5th of November, to insure that the GOP hangs on to their majority come election day.

Teenaged girl shot by Israeli soldiers to walk again

A Palestinian teenage girl, who was shot by Israeli soldiers during anti-occupation rallies on Gaza Strip, will be able to walk again, her doctor said.

Meryem Abu-Matar, 16, who lives in Gaza’s Rafah city, was brought to Istanbul for medical treatment.

Since March, Abu-Matar has been through 42 phases of surgery, the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) said on Thursday.

The girl can now walk with the support of a walker.

She will soon be able to move without any support, said Dr. Mehmet Veli Karaaltin, her surgeon, who identified her wound as "severe".

He added that the treatment will last a year.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Abu Matar said: “I was targeted because I carry a Palestinian flag. I will continue my struggle."

“My message to the world is that the Palestinian people are unfairly under blockade. We will continue this struggle until we are free," she added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let me get my head around this: this 16 year old young woman was shot, not because she attempted to hurt any IDF member, but because she was carrying a Palestinian flag?!?

I have, BTW, just fired off an email to the charity helping this young woman, asking if Americans can, without legal repercussions against them, contribute to this charity. If so, I will create a link at WRH to their organisation. Their website can be found here:

Syria's Assad says Russian military needed in Syria long term - agencies

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said on Thursday Russian forces were needed in the country long-term and for more than just fighting terrorism, Russian news agencies reported, citing an interview with the leader.

“Russian armed forces are needed for balance in our region, at least in the Middle East, until the global political balance changes. And this might not even happen, we do not know. So it is important and necessary,” Interfax news agency cited Assad as saying in an interview with Russian media.

He added that Syria’s agreement with Russia over the Hmeimim military base was signed to last over 40 years, indicating that the relationship between the two countries was of a long-term nature, Interfax reported.

The rapid return of refugees to Syria is the main issue being discussed between Damascus and Moscow, Interfax news agency cited Assad as saying.

Al Assad is absolutely correct in his assessment.

Yemen 'on brink of new cholera epidemic', charity warns

Thousands of people in Yemen could be affected by a new wave of deadly cholera in the coming weeks, an international charity says.

In a press release on Thursday, UK-based Save the Children warned the hot summer months are ideal conditions for cholera to spread rapidly.

It added that almost 3,000 suspected cholera cases were reported in the first week of July across the country - the highest number since the start of the year.

"Cholera could spread like wildfire in Yemen, potentially infecting thousands of children and completely overwhelming an already-crippled health system," the charity's CEO Helle Thorning-Schmidt said.

"Many hospitals have been reduced to rubble, and those that are still standing are barely functioning. Doctors have not been paid, pharmacies are understocked, and power cuts happen constantly."

More than one million people were infected with cholera last year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But you have to understand; this is the precise outcome the Butcher of Yemen (A.K.A. Saudi Arabia's Prince Ben Salman) wants to see happen here.

More illness, more starvation, more polluted water, means more deaths, without having to use more American bombs and bullets; that's the math, people!!

And has the cholera infecting and killing Yemenis been weaponised here by the US and Saudis?!?

I can tell you that it has in the past, and that may be what is going on now. Here is an article from 2017, which may shed some light on the history of its use as a weapon.

US and Saudi Arabia using cholera to kill Yemenis

The article goes on to state:

"According to the Library of Congress, Science Reference Services, chemical/biological warfare is the term used to describe the use of chemical or biological agents as weapons to injure or kill humans, livestock, or plants. Chemical weapons are devices that use chemicals to inflict death or injury; biological weapons use pathogens or organisms that cause disease. Pathogens include bacteria, viruses, fungi, and toxins (poisons produced by animals or plants).

William M. Boardman via Readers support news reports:

Since March 2015, the US has supported Saudi Arabia and its allies in their criminal war of aggression against Yemen, committing daily war crimes, especially against civilians, who are now suffering a cholera epidemic with more than 400,000 victims. Cholera is caused by the bacteria Vibrio cholera and has been weaponized by the US, Japan (in World War II), South Africa (under apartheid), Iraq (under Saddam), and other states. To be most effective, cholera must be spread through water supplies. That’s what’s happening in Yemen now. More than two years of bombing has largely destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure, water and sewage systems are destroyed, hospitals and clinics are destroyed, and the population of about 25 million has almost no protection against the spread of cholera. The UN says Yemen’s cholera epidemic is “the largest ever recorded in any country in a single year since records began.”

When any country succeeds in weaponizing an illness, and uses it successfully as the US did with cholera, please understand, and with an absolute, and dreadful certainty, that they will use it again.

And the question you have to ask, going back to an earlier post I created this morning, is why, if this is the worst humanitarian crisis the world is facing right now, are you not being told about it by the presstitutes and warmongers at FOX; CBS; ABC: MSNBC?!?

It is very simple; you are not supposed to know about it, because the military industrial complex, now making billions from its sales of weapons to Saudi Arabia, and the US Deep State don't want you to know, because you might somehow think that this genocide against the Yemeni people, is at all on the right side of history.

Watchdog: US Wasted More Than $15.5 Billion in Afghanistan

Responding to requests from members of Congress, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) has made his first attempt to calculate exactly how much money the US wasted in Afghanistan.

After 10 months of research, SIGAR said they could document $15.5 billion in waste since SIGAR’s inception in 2008. This is 29 percent of all of the spending audited by the SIGAR, who concedes the figure is probably low.

Current SIGAR John Sopko says that the figure is “likely only a portion of the total waste, fraud, abuse, and failed efforts.” He warned that the $4 billion in stabilization programs only “enabled corruption and bolstered support for insurgents.”

Senators Threaten Action If Europe Ignores US Sanctions Against Iran

A group of 10 Republicans senators have issued a joint letter to the ambassadors from Britain, France and Germany saying they are “troubled” by European efforts to evade newly imposed US sanctions against Iran.

President Trump withdrew the US out of the P5+1 nuclear deal, of which all three of those European nations are still party to. The US thus considers the deal over, and wants all the pre-deal sanctions back in place. The European nations, and the EU in general, are trying to save the deal, irrespective of US opposition.

The letter demands that the European nations “comply with all American sanctions,” and warns that continued attempts to avoid doing so could be met by “congressional action” against the Europeans for resisting them.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, and these 10 Republican Senators (all high recipients of AIPAC money, I might imagine), a word, please, gentlemen; what are you going to do to every nation which refuses to go along with these sanctions?!?

This giving the world a "drop dead date" (4 November of this year, I believe) by which the world was commanded by the US to NOT buy Iranian crude oil, was utterly not thought through.

And I would imagine that some countries are going to come up with very creative ways to not allow US sanctions to impinge their buying of Iranian oil (cryptocurrencies, perhaps, that the US would not be able to touch.)

Then what, gentlemen?!? Go to war with Iran, and the rest of the world which needs to buy their oil?!?

And please, in all this rush to demonize Iran (potentially ahead of a military strike against it), I hope someone in the bowels of power is asking themselves this question; what will Russia do, in the case of a US/Israeli attack against Iran?!?

Will the Duma and Putin just sit on their hands, singing "Kumbyah"?!?

I would strongly tend to doubt this.

Also, what will Turkey do, which actually shares a common border with Iran, and the government of which has stated that it will absolutely not observe the US boycott on Iranian oil?!?

I sincerely hope that someone in DC is losing sleep over this. It was NOT a tactic calculated to bring the Iranians to the negotiating table, after President Trump withdrew the US from the P5+1 agreement, which the IAEA, comprised of very bright people, said was working.

US Resisting Pushes by North, South Korea to End War

65 years after the 1953 armistice that stopped the open fighting of the Korean War, the nations involved still haven’t replaced it with a permanent peace treaty. This means that the Korean War is still technically ongoing, 68 years later. That’s apparently where the US intends for it to stay.

While North and South Korea have discussed deals to end the war, and the US nominally has given its imprimatur to the idea, US officials say that there is little interest in the Trump Administration to actually do this, with some seeing it as undermining their leverage against North Korea on denuclearization.

This would be a complicated matter this time, unlike the decades of previous US resistance to making peace with North Korea. That’s because now, South Korea is also on board for such a deal. In trying to delay such an important milestone, the US may be seen as obstructing diplomacy in general.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is where the current administration's logic breaks down completely; why would Kim Jung Un completely denuclearize, until he gets some concrete assurances regarding aid, trade, and an end to the armistice, which is simply, technically, a cessation of fighting, rather than a true, thoroughly spelled out peace deal?!?

US’ Embattled Zumwalt Destroyer Requires $20 Million Engine Replacement

The US Navy’s second $7.5 billion Zumwalt-class destroyer arrived in Maine from at-sea testing in need of another $20 million engine to replace one that sustained damage during the tests, the Portland Press Herald reported Thursday.

For reference, the US Navy's first Ford-class supercarrier was projected to cost around $10 billion, though cost overruns eventually put the USS Gerald Ford's total price at around $13 billion. Now, the destroyer Michael Monsoor will need a new engine before it can sail from Maine to San Diego, California, for "combat system activation," USNI News reported July 11.

"Regrettably, coming off her acceptance trials we found a problem with one of the main turbine engines that drives one of the main generators," US Navy Admiral William Galinis told reporters in Bath, Maine, Wednesday.

Spaced Out: Trump’s Space Force Left Out of Congress’ 2019 Defense Budget Bill

US President Donald Trump might have said he was creating a Space Force in June, but it’s Congress’ job to actually do that, and the defense spending bill the US Congress agreed to on Monday doesn’t even include the term “space force,” much less allocate money for it.

What the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) bill agreed upon by a House-Senate conference committee does do is direct US Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis to "develop a space warfighting policy," Futurism noted July 25. U.S. SECRET WARS IN AFRICA RAGE ON, DESPITE TALK OF DOWNSIZING

Last October, four U.S. soldiers – including two commandos – were killed in an ambush in Niger. Since then, talk of U.S. special operations in Africa has centered on missions being curtailed and troop levels cut.

Press accounts have suggested that the number of special operators on the front lines has been reduced, with the head of U.S. Special Operations forces in Africa directing his troops to take fewer risks. At the same time, a “sweeping Pentagon review” of special ops missions on the continent may result in drastic cuts in the number of commandos operating there. U.S. Africa Command has apparently been asked to consider the impact on counterterrorism operations of cutting the number of Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and other commandos by 25 percent over 18 months and 50 percent over three years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reason the US military is in Africa, is very fundamental; it involves the expropriation of natural resources, to which the US government has absolutely no moral right; the "pacification" of these countries' governments and people, and insuring that those resources are only purchased in US dollars.

I frankly don't think that is going to go away any time soon.

US PREPARING TO BOMB IRAN'S NUCLEAR CAPABILITIES AS SOON AS NEXT MONTH: REPORT

As the White House convenes a policy meeting on Iran Thursday involving senior Pentagon officials and cabinet advisers under national security adviser John Bolton, and after a week of intense saber-rattling by President Donald Trump and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, a new bombshell report by Australia's ABC says the White House is drawing up plans to strike Iran's alleged nuclear facilities as early as next month.

Crucially, Australia is part of the so-called "Five Eyes" global intelligence partners which includes the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, and plays in a key role in hosting top-secret facilities that guide American spy satellites.

According to the breaking report, ABC [Australian Broadcasting Corporation] has learned the following based on statements of key senior defense and intelligence officials:

Senior Government figures have told the ABC they believe the Trump administration is prepared to bomb Iran

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, Lord, NO!!

This would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing that the US government could possibly do, at this time.

But in looking at countries which are already balking at being forbidden by the US government from buying Iranian crude, or experience severe sanctions, like Turkey,it is possible that the White House believes it cannot isolate Iran enough economically, before its stated "drop dead date' of not buying Iranian oil (4 November) that it thinks it must move swiftly on a decap strike against Tehran.

Still ‘world policeman’: US expands overseas military presence with 300k troops in 177 states

Trump is sticking to the policies of past administrations despite campaign claims that the US shouldn’t be ‘world policeman’, experts told RT regarding Pentagon figures of 300,000 US troops in 177 states.

“Today more than 300,000 Americans are deployed or forward stationed in 177 countries,” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford said on Monday. These missions include those in Iraq and Syria, activities on the Korean Peninsula, and “enhancing interoperability with allies” in Poland, according to the man acting as principal military adviser to the US president.

The number announced by Dunford is much higher than the one given by Pew Research Center in 2017. The Washington-based fact tank reported that 200,000 US troops were stationed overseas at that time, adding that the largest US military presence was in Japan, Germany, South Korea, Italy, and Afghanistan.

Army Colonel Warns False Flag ‘Gulf of Tonkin Incident’ May Be Used to Get US Into War with Iran

On August 5, 1964, the New York Times reported “President Johnson has ordered retaliatory action against gunboats and ‘certain supporting facilities in North Vietnam’ after renewed attacks against American destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin.” Additional outlets, such as the Washington Post, echoed this claim.

But it wasn’t true. At all. In fact, the Gulf of Tonkin incident, as it became known, turned out to be a fictitious creation courtesy of the government to escalate war in Vietnam — leading to the deaths of tens of thousands of U.S. troops and millions of Vietnamese, fomenting the largest anti-war movement in American history, and tarnishing the reputation of a nation once considered at least somewhat noble in the eyes of the world.

SHOIGU FORMS 70 NEW UNITS IN RESPONSE TO NATO BUILDUP ON RUSSIA’S BORDER

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that in the Western Military District since 2016, more than 70 formations and military units have been formed. He said this at a meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“The situation developing in the western strategic direction requires us to continuously improve the combat strength of the troops and the system of their basing. To this end, since 2016, more than 70 formations and military units have been formed, including two divisions and three brigades, “he said.

Trump Says Ready to Make ‘A Real Deal’ With Iran

During his speech in Kansas City on Tuesday, President Trump said he is “ready to make a real deal” with Iran, adding that “Iran is not the same country anymore.” He also said this new deal would not be like the “disaster” deal made by the Obama Administration.

The statement comes just two days after President Trump’s bellicose Tweet threatening Iran with “consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before.” Speculation was that this was an attempt to replicate the US strategy in North Korea, where threats were followed with successful diplomacy.

Yet Iran and North Korea are clearly dramatically different situations, not the least of which because Iran doesn’t have nuclear weapons, or a nuclear arms program to dismantle. Willingness to negotiate at all with Iran is a substantial difference in Trump Administration position, however.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, I would like to politely suggest, that there is no "deal" you can offer Iran with which to replace the P5+1; they are not going to give up their missile program, and are continuing nuclear enrichment under the supvervision of the IAEA June, 2018: Iran to inform IAEA of Start of Process o Boost Uranium Enrichment Capacity

You have told the world that the "drop dead date" for them to purchase Iranian crude is 4 November of this year. Trump Demands World Stop Buying Iranian Oil by 4 November, 2018, or face economic sanctions

The timing of your deadline is the Sunday before mid-term elections in this country, Tuesday, 6 November; but what if most of the world disregards your sanctions, as it appears China is set to do?!?

Are you going to declare war on every nation on earth which does not comply with your demand?!?

Will November 5th, be a day of a decap strike against Tehran, to show Irael, the US, and the world, how completely "butch" you are in terms of imposing regime change in Iran?!?

And what happens, sir, if there is a joint US/Israeli strike against Iran, but Russia comes into the fray on Iran's side?!?

I would like to hope, sir, that there is someone in your Administration who has thought all the above scenarios through to their logical conclusions; risking war with both Iran, and Russia, because it is you who has pulled the US out of the P5+1 deal, demonstrates neither sound, nor logical thinking, and potentially puts you... and this Administration... between Iran and a hard place.

Water Facility Attack Cuts Off 10,500 People From Safe Drinking Water in Yemen

An attack, carried out this week on the Nushour water facility in Yemen’s northwestern city of Sa’dah, cut off 10,500 people, including over 5,000 children, from safe drinking water, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said on Tuesday.

According to the fund, this has been the third attack on the facility since this March.

"UNICEF deplores in the strongest terms yet another attack on vital and lifesaving water systems in Yemen. A large water facility in Sa’ada, northwest of the country, came under attack this week. This is the third such attack on the same facility. More than half of the project is now damaged, cutting off 10,500 people from safe drinking water," a UNICEF report quoted Geert Cappelaere, the UNICEF Regional Director in the Middle East and North Africa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ah, but you see, this is precisely the consequence the Butcher of Yemen, AKA Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Bin Salman, wants to see happen here: and the US military is enabling his war crimes in Yemen.

I would strongly suggest tht upon his demise, that there is a very special place in hell, waiting for him.

With more cholera and other water-borne diseases infesting Yemen's water, leading to more starvations and deaths, the fewer bombs and bullets will be needed to kill off more Yemeni children and innocent civilians : that is absolutely the math here.

And here is what this war looks like from the Yemeni side, and what is being done to the Yemeni people in your names, and with your tax dollars, please look at the following images: (warning: very graphic)

Images: Yemeni children killed or maimed for life, Courtesy of Saudi boming runs

Doesn't this just make you proud to be an American, whose government participates in war crimes in Yemen?!?

Army arms Bradleys with heat-seeking, drone-killing Stinger missiles

The Army is arming Bradley Fighting Vehicles with heat-seeking Stinger air defense missiles to give the infantry carriers an improved ability to track and destroy enemy air threats such as drones, helicopters and low-flying aircraft.

Most current Bradleys are armed with TOW anti-tank missiles, a land weapon predominantly used for attacking enemy armored vehicles, bunkers or troop formations. Adding Stinger missiles will increase the attack envelope for the vehicles and potentially better enable them to protect maneuvering infantry and mechanized forces in combat.

Two Districts in Southeast Afghanistan Fall to Taliban

Taliban fighters have overrun two districts in the southeastern province of Paktika, on the border with Pakistan, officials said Tuesday as heavy fighting continued across Afghanistan.

Local officials said Taliban fighters began attacking security checkpoints and the centers of Omna and Gayan districts in Paktika on Sunday, forcing Afghan security forces in the area to pull out, leaving large quantities of weapons and equipment.

"After almost two days of heavy fighting, Taliban captured both district centers," provincial council member Fazel Rahman Katawazi said, adding that three members of the Afghan security forces were killed and a number of others injured.

The Taliban have taken a series of district centers this year, many of which have been subsequently retaken by Afghan security forces, which control areas with around two-thirds of the country's population.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Roughly stable", General Nicholson, MY ASTROLABE!!!!

Sir, respectfully, the US and NATO forces are continuing to get clobbered, and 17 years on, the Afghani people have not been "pacified".

This will only happen when the US and NATO joint command simply carpet bomb the country, and kill millions; we both know that this will not happen: the optics would simply be too horrific (although I would imagine that such an attack may well have been discussed.)

IF US officials and the NATO High Command had two braincells to rub together, they would withdraw US and NATO soldiers out of the country as rapidly as was safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government was left standing in Kabul for the pipeline, rare earth, and opium poppy rights.

Unfortunately, of course, such a plan... would be logical, and therefore would be rejected immediately.

How many Afghanis, US and NATO troops are going to have to continue to die because of this prolonged barbaric stupidity, which is getting the US and NATO no where near their actual goals of resource expropriation in Afghanistan than they were 17 years ago, when Bush had the country invaded?!?!?

In late April, a spokesperson for the US Department of State confirmed that the US administration had sent a first batch of Javelin anti-tank missile systems to the Ukrainian authorities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) President Trump, a word, please, sir; with things as completely volatile and messed up as they are in Ukraine, the last thing the Poroshenko government needs right now are more weapons, and the first thing you should be doing is sending your top negotiators to Ukraine for negotiations between the breakaway republics, Ukraine, and Russia itself.

If you are willing to listen to people who will tell you the truth here, this situation has utterly no military solution whatsoever, and sending more weapons here is like setting a match to dry tinder.

SYRIA - FOR THE THIRD TIME ISRAEL FALSELY CLAIMS IRAN PULL-BACK DEAL WITH RUSSIA

Yesterday we saw a third attempt by Israel to pretend that Russia had offered or made a deal to counter 'Iranian presence':

A senior political source participated in the meeting between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Russian Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov, at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem Sunday evening.
"It was made clear again that we would not accept Iranian consolidation in Syria, not near the border, and not in the 100-kilometer strip that the Russians are talking about and committing to," the senior official said. "We said that there is long-range weapons placed beyond this area and all these forces have to leave Syria. Russia has considerable capabilities to deal with this, because it is a very significant factor within Syria."

ARMY SELECTS FIRMS TO DESIGN NEXT HIGH-TECH ASSAULT RIFLE FOR "DECADES OF HYBRID WARS"

The United States Army is preparing for decades of hybrid wars across multiple domains - space, cyberspace, air, land, and, maritime. Back in October, we examined the Army’s latest Training and Doctrine Command report, which highlights how the next round of hybrid wars could begin somewhere around 2025 and last through 2040.

Currently, the Army is in a transitional period [quiet period] before the next round of wars start. President Trump has infused the Pentagon with more than $700 billion this fiscal year, in the attempt to plug significant gaps and expand emerging technologies. For instance, the Army has made it clear that it will replace its three decades old M249 light machine gun and the Colt M4 Modular Weapon System Carbine, with a lightweight and higher chamber pressure assault rifle.

The Expansion of U.S. Military Installations in Argentina and Their Implications for Argentine Sovereignty

A number of US military bases have been established throughout Argentina since the election of president Macri.

In early 2018, Macri’s government also approved the construction of another American military base in the province of Misiones. This is a highly strategic position because the province is situated in the tri-border area (TBA) of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, which contains the Guaraní Aquifer, the largest subterranean drinkable and renewable fresh water reserve in the world. Specifically, of the 1.2 million square kilometers of land containing the Guarani Aquifer, 850,000 square kilometers are in Brazil’s territory, 225,000 square kilometers are in Argentina, 70,000 square kilometers are in Paraguay, and 25,000 square kilometers are in Uruguay.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, let me get this straight: the President of Argentina is refusing to have legal protocol observed, and have the Argentinian Congress approve of these US bases?!?

The Might of Petro Dollar: Why Saudi Arabia Can Continue Its Atrocities in Yemen?

It is clear that there is a significant humanitarian disaster occurring in Yemen that is mostly being ignored internationally as the world keeps its eyes on Syria, Iran, Venezuela and North Korea. So why then is Yemen being ignored?

But with Yemen having a food shortage crisis with ports blockaded, a cholera crisis, and civilians targeted by double-tap airstrikes, including attacks against schools, hospitals, weddings, funerals and any other social event possibly imaginable, why is there little international condemnation against the main perpetrator, Saudi Arabia?

Turkish energy analyst and the Chairman of Ankara-based Institute for Energy Markets and Policies, Dr. Volkan Ozdemir, said in an interview with Sputnik Turkiye in 2017 that:

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US-enabled Saudi war in Yemen is NOT forgotten at WRH.

As a Christian pacifist activist, I cannot look away from the genocide which is the Saudi war in Yemen; neither can Mike, although not a "faith guy".

President Trump's decision to further enable these Saudi atrocities in Yemen, by selling the Saudi Government more bombs, bullets, and offering more "guidance", will not be looked upon kindly by history.

UK Favours Extremism Over Democracy in Syria

By propping up Turkey's Afrin operation, the British government has once again supported Islamist-backed military conquest over more liberal forces.

How does a British government respond when an allied state invades another territory with the backing of jihadists, overthrows a democratic experiment and consolidates an occupation? Judging by what Turkey is doing in the Afrin district of northern Syria, the answer is: by supporting it.

Britain, far from helping to defeat terrorism in Syria, is once again aiding it.

As Britain arms Turkey, there is a real risk that such military equipment can end up in the hands of jihadists. Yet the British government defines Turkey as a priority market for promoting arms sales that have been worth more than £200 million ($265m) since 2016, including aircraft, helicopters, drones, grenades, small arms and ammunition.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Congratulations to Prime Minister May to have become the UK's own Merchant Death, this time with Turkey as the primary recipient of the UK's military weaponry.

That you even believed, for one second, that Erdogan, whose meglomania and paranoia is growing by the day, is a force with whom you could reason, for economic gain, I would politely suggest that you think again; you do not know where the weapons you have sold the man will actually wind up, and against whom they will be used.

Or maybe, you didn't give a damn when you sold him those weapons.

Israel Evacuated Alleged Mossad-Linked Rebel Commanders During “Humanitarian” White Helmet Rescue

Given that Israel had spent over $60,000 a year supporting Syrian rebel group Fursan al-Golan financially, it would make sense for Tel Aviv not only to develop and maintain ties with their commanders, but to rescue those commanders as the Syrian government continues its advance.

Over the weekend, and as MintPress predicted last Tuesday, the controversial Western government-funded “humanitarian” group, the Syrian Civil Defense — popularly known as the White Helmets — were evacuated from southern Syria as the Syrian government continues to gain ground in its offensive throughout the country’s southwest. However, sources from within the Syrian opposition have revealed that the White Helmets were not the only ones evacuated from Syrian territory, as four top “rebel” commanders were also among the evacuees, undermining the heavily promoted narrative that the evacuation was purely “humanitarian” in nature.

Rare secular candidate in Pakistan hounded by angry mobs

It began with a audience members asking Pakistani parliamentary candidate Jibran Nasir to declare his religion at a public forum, a request he politely refused on the grounds it is irrelevant.

Later, the mobs started showed up. In the past week, three of Nasir’s public meetings in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, have been disrupted by religious hardliners - shouting out and shoving his supporters.

Nasir, a human rights lawyer, is a rare breed in Pakistan: an avowedly secular, progressive candidate in the overwhelmingly Muslim country of 208 million, where most parties appeal to an Islamic vote bank.

His independent candidacy is in stark contrast to the prevailing mood of Pakistan’s campaign, which has seen the rise of new ultra-right Islamist parties campaigning on protecting draconian blasphemy laws and denouncing the persecuted Ahmadi sect.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I hope this gentleman has his Kevlar undies on, 24/7: political assassinations are very commonplace in this country.

He appears to be a man who should have the chance to change the narrative in Pakistani politics; I fear, however, that he will not be allowed to do so, due to religious intolerance as political discorse, which is commonly what appears to be accepted in Pakistan today.

Trump Administration 'Threatens to Pull Plug' on Gaza Reconstruction Plan

The Trump administration is considering abandoning its focus on economic development in the Gaza Strip, as a result of what it describes as a lack of any goodwill on the part of Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist organization controlling the coastal enclave. According to a report published Monday in the New York Times, the administration's peace team is frustrated by the lack of progress in Gaza, and is threatening to "pull the plug" on an international plan to rehabilitate Gaza from the damage wrought by previous wars between Hamas and Israel.

Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, told the paper that Hamas "has driven Gaza to a state of despair" and that it is to blame for the current stalemate. Last month, Kushner and Trump's special envoy for the peace process, Jason Greenblatt, made a five-country visit to the Middle East which was focused on raising funds for economic and humanitarian projects that would benefit Gaza, mainly from the oil-rich Gulf States.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, under their dual tutelage by Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu and Sheldon Adelson, one of the President's prime contributors, both President Trump and Jered Kuschner are missing the mark by miles in their misunderstanding of the Palestinian position here.

The Palestinian position here isn't about financial upliftment and opportunity; it is about the homeland from which they were evicted, upon the founding of the State of Israel.

Final defense bill would limit US support to Saudi campaign in Yemen

The compromise National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) unveiled by House and Senate Armed Services Committee staffers Monday retained and modified a provision from the Senate-passed version that would require the Saudi-led coalition to meet certain criteria before the U.S. military can refuel its planes.

“Yemen remains an area of intense interest and concern for our members, and we have aggressive oversight in the conference report,” a senior staffer told reporters at a background briefing.

A Saudi-led coalition has been fighting Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen since 2015. The United States has been supporting the Saudi campaign with billions of dollars in arms sales, intelligence sharing and logistics like air refueling.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill have grown increasingly frustrated at the Saudi campaign as the civilian death toll rises, most of which has been blamed on Saudi airstrikes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This language will make US enabling Saudi Arabia in their genocide of Yemen more "palatable' to Congress, while civilians continue to get slaughtered indiscrimminately.

Funny: you don't hear a word about this conflict from the mainstream presstitutes.

But as a Christian pacifist activist, I will continue to witness to the US enabling of Saudi war crimes, in Yemen.

Oh, and if you are wandering just what this war is looking like for those Yemenis being killed or maimed for life, here is what your government is doing in your name, and with your tax dollars in Yemen (warning; very graphic visuals):

Images: Yemeni children assassinated by Saudi bombing raids

Now, don't those images just make you prouder than hell to be an American?!?

And trust me, this nicely weasel-worded NDAA will have utterly no effect on the situation on the ground here in Yemen.

WAS REAGAN A TRAITOR TOO?

If anyone thinks that Donald Trump is the only U.S. president ever targeted for befriending Russia, think again.

As I indicated in a recent article, the deep state went after President Kennedy for doing the same thing. And yes, like Trump, they called Kennedy a traitor, an appeaser, and a coward for refusing to stand up to Russia, which was then part of the Soviet Union.

Yesterday the Texas Tribune published an article entitled “It’s Time to Impeach the President” by Republican state representative Jason Villalba. Comparing Trump to conservative/Republican icon Ronald Reagan, Villalba wrote:

I am a Republican today because of Ronald Reagan. He instilled in me the principles that have guided my life … Today, our own president of the United States mocks these basic tenets.

Well, except for this, which Villalba failed to mention: Reagan was another president the deep state and the conservative movement targeted for befriending Russia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sound familiar, folks?!?

Because it should. Every time a US President starts to ratchet down the tension with Russia, the Deep State has apoplexy and labels that President a "traitor."

Because in a very Orwellian sense, the Deep State in this country desperately needs a villian to demonize, and with which to scare Americans out of their tax dollars, buying military equipment and weaponry, which in this part of the 21st century, does not even begin to compare with that of Russia or China.

So if you hear someone demonizing President Trump about his Helsinki Summit, please remember all the American Presidents before him, trying to do the same thing, and how they were treated.

In terms of attempting to create a better relationship with Russia, these men are not the villians here; it is the members of the American Deep State, who should be named and shamed, as perpetrators of a violently confrontational foreign policy against... darn near everyone, except, of course...Israel.

Will Trump Revert to Gunboat Diplomacy in Latin America?

Venezuela is the most visible problem. Under the disastrous Marxist economics that President Hugo Chavez and his successor, Nicolas Maduro, have pursued for nearly two decades, Venezuela has become a catastrophe of economic and political chaos. Once the wealthiest country in South America, Venezuela’s gross domestic product is plunging at double-digit rates, and inflation is now soaring at a mind-boggling 46,000 percent. Maduro’s increasingly beleaguered regime has responded with ever more severe authoritarian measures, virtually eradicating the country’s free press and imprisoning scores of opposition leaders.

IN 1974 CALL TO ABOLISH CIA, SANDERS FOLLOWED IN FOOTSTEPS OF JFK, TRUMAN

According to an article in Politico, Bernie Sanders, during his 1974 campaign for the Senate on Vermont’s Liberty Union Party ticket, called the Central Intelligence Agency “a dangerous institution that has got to go.” Sanders complained that the CIA was only accountable to “right-wing lunatics who use it to prop up fascist dictatorships.”

Jeremy Bash, a former CIA chief of staff who is now an adviser to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, told reporter Michael Crowley that Sanders’ comment “reinforces the conclusion that he’s not qualified to be commander in chief.” Bash explained: “Abolishing the CIA in the 1970s would have unilaterally disarmed America during the height of the Cold War and at a time when terrorist networks across the Middle East were gaining strength.” Bash was chief of staff for Leon Panetta at both the CIA and Defense Department, and now runs a consulting firm called Beacon Global Strategies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Those agencies allegedly created to keep Americans safe, have become so deeply corrupted and poliicised, that any possibility that they can continue to function as advertised, has been completely destroyed.

And what Bash fails to address, in his criticism of Sanders' position is why there were terrorist groups starting to to form in the 70s in the Middle East?!?!

There is a very interesting treatment of US policy in the Middle East in Wikipedia.org which serves us well, in answering that question:

US Foreign Policy in the Middle East.

It states:

"United States foreign policy in the Middle East has its roots as early as the Barbary Wars in the first years of the U.S.'s existence, but became much more expansive after World War II. American policy during the Cold War tried to prevent Soviet Union influence by supporting anti-communist regimes and backing Israel against Soviet-sponsored Arab countries. The U.S. also came to replace the United Kingdom as the main security patron of the Persian Gulf states in the 1960s and 1970s, working to ensure a stable flow of Gulf oil.[1] Since the 9/11 attacks of 2001, U.S. policy has included an emphasis on counter-terrorism. The U.S. has diplomatic relations with all countries in the Middle East except for Iran, whose 1979 revolution brought to power a staunchly anti-American regime."

And speaking of regimes, and regime changes, one of the hallmarks of American foreign policy in this region, has been precisely that; we did it in Iran in 53, overthrowing the duly elected President, and replacing him with the Shah of Iran; that is why Iranian rhetoric, since the 79 revolution, has been so staunchly anti-American.

More recently, it has been done to Afghanistan in 2002; Iraq in 2003, and Libya in 2011.

One could tell that those countries were about to be invaded from the uptick of demonization in the US corporate presstitute media against them; but the real reasons this was happening were never honestly put forward.

I would like to believe that the US govenment is going to have a very hard time lying us into the next war, which will most probably be against Iran; but perhaps the American public may astonish me yet again on this with their sound-bite ready naivete.

Mr. Bash is disingenuous in the extreme when he refuses to go to the root cause of Middle Eastern terrorism; the US invades and regime changes countries, expropirating resouces to which it has no moral right, and insures that those resources are only sold in US dollars.

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in their origins, he was entirely correct.

But that is not how you "sell" a war to your people, at least not in the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika; you sell it with lies, and deceptions, and the very sure and certain knowledge that your kids will not be coming back in pieces from that war, in a cheap aluminium coffin, decorated with a cheap, Chinese-fabricated American flag.

Escobar: Here's The Real Reason The US Must Talk To Russia

The United States’ industrial-military-intel-security complex profits from a compounded annual budget of roughly US$1 trillion. The only justification for such whopping expenditure is to manufacture a lethal external threat: Russia. That’s the key reason the complex will not allow US President Donald Trump even to try to normalize relations with Russia.

Yet now this is a whole new ball game as the US faces a formidable adversary that, as Martyanov carefully details, deploys five crucial capabilities.

Command, control, communications, computers, intel, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities equal to or better than the US.

Electronic warfare capabilities equal to or better than the US.

New weapons systems equal to or better than the US.

Air defense systems that are more than a match for US airpower.

Long-range subsonic, supersonic and hypersonic cruise missiles that threaten the US Empire of Bases and even the entire US mainland.

So how did we get here?

Germany’s bloody secret: Politicians & arms producers cozy up, sell weapons to anyone

Despite having one of the toughest gun export laws in the world, Germany enjoys a comfy place among the top weapon exporters. How is that possible? A newly released Redfish documentary has some of the answers.

“The laws are very strict and the practice is very-very leisure and very easy. Everyone was wondering how could it be that Germany has one of the strictest laws and always, depending on the ranking, is number three, in small arms is even number two of the biggest world arms trades and weapon producers? So, where’s the gap?” lawyer Holger Rothbauer told the Germany-based investigative journalism team Redfish.

Never, Ever Threaten the US Again': Trump Fires Back at Rouhani's Threats

On Sunday Iranian President Hassan Rouhani urged his US counterpart Donald Trump to stop playing with fire, referring to Washington's calls for its allies to completely abandon imports of Iranian oil by early November.

US President Donald Trump warned Tehran on Sunday of consequences "the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered," if the country threatens the United States.

The Iranian president said earlier that a "war with Iran is the mother of all wars," but did not rule out peace between the two countries.

"Today, speaking with US has no meaning except surrender and end of people's achievements. Mr. Trump! We are the people of dignity and guarantor of security of the waterway of the region throughout the history. Don't play with the lion's tail; you will regret it," Rouhani said at a meeting with Iranian diplomats as quoted by the presidential office.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I type this, I am watching a crawl on Faux News, indicating that President Trump is "very happy" with progress on North Korea (whatever that is, is apparently not ready for public consumption right now).

It appears that his "gruesome twosome" supporters, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Sheldon Adelson, have shifted his military outrage elsewhere, and that appears to be against Iran.

But this escalating "war of words" by President Trump with Iran, and any country which would buy Iranian oil by 4 November, telegraphs the following to me.

The White House, Pentagon, and State Department, are ramping up the demonization of Iran, in order to "justify" a war against it.

Those military actions will most probably happen on, or just after, the US-imposed "drop dead" date for countries wanting to buy Iranian oil.

Trump Pressing Allies to Quite Importing Iranian Oil by 4 November

In looking at the calendar, I see we are at 23 July; this gives potential buyers precisely 103 days to stockpile Iranian oil, if they so choose.

IF the US and Israel are planning a decap strike against Tehran, it will have to be both quick, and massive. Troops are going to have to be predeployed and in position in and around Saudi Arabia; Iraq; Israel; and the Persian Gulf. Massive troop movements will be seen to happen, if this is the plan.

If this is in the works, however, what will Russia do, as Russia shares both a border with Iran, and a tremendous history with it?!?

My thought is that Putin will stand down here, let the regime change happen, and negotiate with whatever government takes over in Iran.

And what about the timing of this US government dictat?!?

The US mid-terms are on 6 November this year. My bet is that President Trump will act decisively on Monday, 5 November, to cement the Republican majority in Congress, as Americans have been reluctant to change governmental leadership in a war situation.

I wish to hell I could be a little less cynical here; but I cannot.

F-35 STEALTH JET MODERNIZATION PROGRAM WILL ALLOW FOR DIRECTED ENERGY WEAPONS

Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies corp., announced last Thursday a ‘Growth Option 2.0’ upgrade for the F135 engine, which powers the fifth-generation Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, that could provide increased power and thermal management system (PTMS) capacity.

“As the F-35 program moves forward with the Continuous Capability Development and Delivery (C2D2) strategy, we strive to stay in front of propulsion advances needed to enable F-35 modernization,” said Matthew Bromberg, president, Pratt & Whitney Military Engines. “We’re continuously assessing customer needs and responding with technology options to keep them ahead of evolving threats.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

US military weaponry is no where near being "ahead of evolving threats";

What We Know About Russia’s Upcoming PAK DA Next Generation Heavy Bomber

Russia tests new stalth fighter jet in Syria

China's newest J-20 stealth jets hold first maritime combat drills

China shows off next generation fighers

The question which must be asked is, not why to the Chinese and Russian military have these aircraft, which perform as advertised, but why the US military does not; and the answer goes back to the absolutely perverse, and money-corrupted system of American military procurement.

You see, the "Captains of Industry" are of a corporate culture where, because of all the money liberally sprinkled on both sides of the aisle in Congress in order to get military contracts, they believe that product can be delayed until it has been rendered obsolete before being deployed in the field; that their products do not have to work as advertised; and cost overruns, soaking the taxpayers for far over the original cost estimates, are absolutely acceptible.

This mind set has to change, and quickly, for the US to even begin to regain its weapons technology end.

And I think that the only two things which will do it, is legislation forbidding weapons manufacturers from contributing one cent to state and national elections, and making sure, in each weapons contract, it is spelled out that if products are delivered late; do not function as advertised; and are attached to outrageous cost overruns, the CEOs of those companies who have not delivered the best possible equipment to our men and women in uniform, face hard jail. time.

Yes, I understand that such legislation will probably pass state and the Federal legislatures at the moment pigs discover they are aerodynamic; but it will cure the problem here.

GREAT NATIONS ARE DESTROYED BY BEING PULLED INTO WARS TO DEFEND TINY ONES

NATO's obsession with pulling in as many small, unstable and potentially extremist countries in Eastern Europe as possible makes a world war inevitable rather than deterring one.

The reason for this could not be more simple or clear: Small countries start world wars and destroy the empires and great nations that go to war to defend them.

Belgium doomed England and Serbia doomed Russia in 1914.

The Russian Empire, the largest nation in the world in terms of area and the third largest after the British Empire and China in terms of population at the time, went to war to defend Serbia from invasion by Austria-Hungary.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This so reminds me of the phrase: "Those who do not learn from history...are doomed to repeat it."

That is what we are witnessing with NATO's, and the US Government's, "fatal attraction" to these countries in Eastern Europe, is a profound lack of the understanding of this history.

This nearly insures that a war with Russia will happen; the only question is, when.

And just two days ago, we have this corroborating "gem" from theindependent.uk.com:

THE IMPERIAL NAIVETE OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC

The nation's premier corporate profit engines / social media giants are the ideal platforms for undermining the U.S. via the sowing of disintegration.

Whether it's stated or not, one source of the inchoate outrage triggered by Russian-sourced purchases of adverts on Facebook in 2016 (i.e. "meddling in our election") is the sense that the U.S. is sacrosanct due to our innate moral goodness and our Imperial Project: never mind that the intelligence agencies of all great powers (including the U.S.) meddle in the domestic affairs and elections of other nations, including those of allies as well as geopolitical rivals-- no other great power should ever meddle with U.S. domestic affairs and elections.

In effect, meddling in the domestic affairs and elections of other nations is the raison d'etre of all great power intelligence agencies:

America's Derangement Syndrome A Danger To World Peace

It is significant that Presidents Putin and Trump have both spoken out against “haters” among America’s political establishment who would rather see conflict between Russia and the United States instead of a normalization of bilateral relations.

Following their landmark, successful summit this week in Helsinki, Putin and Trump separately made public comments deploring the hostile hysterical reaction emanating from broad sections of the US political establishment and its dutiful, controlled news media.

Speaking in Moscow to his diplomatic corps, President Putin warned that there were “powerful forces” within the US which are ready to sacrifice the interests of their country and indeed the interests of world peace in order to pursue selfish ambitions.

For his part, Trump also slammed opponents in the US who “hated” to see him having a good meeting with Putin. “They would rather see a major confrontation with Russia, even if that could lead to war,” said the American president.

Israel launches U.S.-backed missile shield on Syria frontier, Russia sends envoys

Israel launched its newest air defense system on Monday on the Syrian frontier, where Damascus’s Russian-backed forces have been routing rebels, as Moscow sent envoys for what it called “urgent” talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu planned to meet Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, and its armed forces chief, General Valery Gerasimov, later in the day, a visit the Israeli leader said was arranged last week at the request of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Israel is on high alert as Syrian President Bashar al-Assad regains ground from rebels in the southwest of the country, bringing his forces close to the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

In a sign of high tensions, Israel launched two David’s Sling interceptor missiles at rockets which it said fell inside Syrian territory and were part of the internal fighting there.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In having ordered these missiles launched into Syria at this time, it appears that Netanyahu is flipping the proverbial "bird" at Russia's President Putin; and after all the work Putin and Russia have put into reclaiming Syria from the US armed/funded "rebels", this is somethng, I believe, that Putin will tell Netnayahu he will no longer tolerate.

What the cost of this to Israel might be, in a brand new game, vis a vis the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, I do not know; but Netanyahu may well be about to understand that he can no longer attack a sovereign state with impunity any more.

The Very Unhinged John Brennan

Both men share Churchill’s approach, with Putin saying: “As nuclear powers, we bear special responsibility” for international security.

Putin said Russia (as a devout Christian country) considered it necessary for the two countries to work together on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation – and to avoid weapons being placed in space.

“Even during the tensions of the Cold War, the US and the Soviets were able to maintain a strong dialogue (with now Russia),” said Trump. “But our relations (with now Russia) have never been worse than they are now. However that changed as of about four hours ago."

He added: "nothing would be easier politically than to refuse to engage" which would "appease partisan critics, the media" and the opposition."

US Adds Another $200 Million to Ukraine Military Aid

US officials say they will not accept any referendum in breakaway Eastern Ukraine about accepting an offer of autonomy as part of Ukraine. They say no vote would be legitimate unless the rebels surrender first, and the vote is held under the auspices of central government rule.

The referendum is being pushed by Russia as a solution to the Eastern Ukraine war, which has been in a state of on-again, off-again ceasefire for years. Russia generally supports the rebels, while the US has been backing the government.

Underscoring that the US is backing a solution that doesn’t involve a free, internationally supervised election, the Pentagon announced Friday that they are adding another $200 million to military aid to the Ukraine. They say this is intended to improve Ukraine’s military capabilities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Two hundred million to Ukraine for military equipment... while one homeless Vet sleeps rough in our streets?!?

So I can see it falls upon me to ask the Pentagon, politely, quietly, and peacefully: forgive me, but where the hell are your priorities?!?

HOW A ONE-WORD LOOPHOLE WILL MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE U.S. TO SELL WEAPONS TO GOVERNMENTS THAT KILL CIVILIANS

When it was issued in April, the Trump administration’s Conventional Arms Transfer policy was widely panned by critics for prioritizing the profits of weapons companies ahead of transparency and human rights concerns. The White House was blunt about its intentions, promising that the executive branch would “advocate strongly on behalf of United States companies.”

But one change in particular may make it easier for American companies to sell weapons to governments that routinely kill civilians in conflicts by discounting killings that the governments claim are unintentional. The change could have a significant impact on sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates — the top two U.S. weapons clients — both of which are engaged in a destructive bombing campaign in Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that our President has become the Merchant of Death in Chief, with this change.

So having done this as this country's President, logic dictates that neither the US Deep State, nor the Military Industrial Complex can seriously label him a "traitor" regarding the Helsinki Summit; hell, the man is selling American weapons as quickly and as furiously as is humanly possible, right?!?

The two, hawking American weapons, and being a traitor, are mutually exclusive, folks.

No can do.

So now, every global tinpot dictator, Like Saudi Arabia's Prince bin Salman, The Butcher of Yemen, can buy all the US weaons it wants, because it can now characterize every assassination its military creates in Yemen as "accidental".

Let me show you what these "accidental" assassinations in Yemen look like, courtesy of the Saudi Military, enabled by US weapons, refueling, and guidance.

WOW! Don't those images just make you PROUD to be an American, right?!?

"US Monitoring China Currency Manipulation" Mnuchin Confirms Trump's Concerns

Confirming the President's concerns, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin issued a warning to China over the recent weakness of its yuan currency on Friday, telling Reuters that the Treasury is closely monitoring the yuan for signs of manipulation.

in an interview in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Mnuchin said:

“There’s no question that the weakening of the currency creates an unfair advantage for them," adding that "we’re going to very carefully review whether they have manipulated the currency."

While we have been hammering on the weakness in global FX (Yuan and Euro specifically) for weeks, this is a story that’s been under the radar but suddenly blew up in the last 24 hours.

What concerns me greatly here, is how quickly trade and economic wars can morph into shooting wars.

Trump-Putin Summit Brings Out Deep State “Shadow Government” Threats

Will President Trump’s meeting with Putin lead to a coup by “shadow government” operatives of the CIA, State Department, and other federal agencies and departments? That’s what a former top-level Deep State official ominously seemed to be hinting at — and promoting — in a blistering CNN “analysis.” President Trump’s recent European tour, culminating in his summit with Vladimir Putin, sent the Deep State’s political and media operatives into Trump Derangement Syndrome overdrive. They still have not recovered; the torrent of vituperation they orchestrated and unleashed on President Trump before, during, and after his July 10-16 excursion to London, Brussels, and Helsinki continues to escalate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To label President Trump a traitor" because of his wish to ratchet down tensions with Russia, which he appears to be starting to do, can only be laid at the feet of a dangerously powerful military industrial complex, only concerned the effect on their financial bottom line should peace break out, and not at all about the safety and well being of their brother and sister Americans.

AFTER WARNING OF 'LARGE AND PAINFUL MILITARY OPERATION,' ISRAEL BEGINS MASSIVE BOMBING OF GAZA

The airstrikes began to slam Gaza just hours after Israeli soldiers gunned down at least three Palestinians during anti-occupation demonstrations. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says one of its soldiers was killed by retaliatory gunfire from the Palestinians.

"Israel, one of the most powerful military powers in the world, is about to launch a military campaign with F-16s, Tanks, Naval ships and drones against a besieged, stateless population in Gaza."
—Yousef Munayyer, U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights

"Palestinian defense forces fired back at Israeli snipers who have been murdering Palestinian men, women, and children for weeks," noted journalist Ali Abunimah.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I predicted yesterday, Tel Aviv, understanding how Americans were being heavily bombarded with Anti-Trump, Anti-Russian propaganda this week, as a result of the Helskinki Summit, believed that this would be the best one of the best possible "windows" for their genocide of Gaza.

Prayers for our innocent brothers and sisters in Gaza, who will most likely get assassinated in this round of Israel's version of "the killing fields", and prayers also for those Israelis who understand that this new wave of assinations is a very bad idea.

UPDATE; BREAKING ON FOX: HAMAS HAS ACCEPTED A NEW CEASE FIRE WITH ISRAEL: unfortunately, if Israel does not want this to hold, it will not hold.

I have to wonder if Netanyahu even bothered to inform President Trump that this would be happening.

I still cannot wrap my head around the reality that some dangerously powerful people in the US military industrial complex, decided to characterize President Trump as a "traitor" for having done this summit, when he was very dramatically attempting to de-escalate tensions with Russia. He knew this would be risky, yet he was willing to take the risk: I congratulate him on this.

But being old enough to remember this, I recall that the same kinds of posters went up in Dallas, on the same day, and right before President Kennedy was assassinated:

The Price of Encouraging Political Violence

And to all those who may be thinking that extreme, mob violence is the answer to the "problem" of the existence of Trump as our President, I would ask you to please... think again.

Israel's Defense Minister Says "Large And Painful Military Operation" Set For Gaza

After last weekend's significant escalation in Gaza involving Israeli airstrikes on 40 targets, which reportedly killed two teens and wounded over a dozen others, and over 30 rockets launched by Hamas toward southern Israel, all signs are currently pointing toward a broader outbreak of fighting as in new comments the Israeli defense minister is preparing the public for "a large and painful military operation" to come.

Israeli officials and media have broadly referred to this latest flare-up of hostilities as the biggest attack since Operation Protective Edge in 2014, and now Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman is warning that Israel is prepared to go to war if Gazans don't cease releasing incendiary kites and balloons in attempts to set communities and farmlands in southern Israel ablaze.

Gaza Patients Appeal to the World to Save Their Lives

Patients in Gaza’s hospital’s organised a sit-in in central Gaza City to appeal to the international community, Quds Press reported, Tuesday.

The sit-in included those wounded by Israel as well as rights groups. It took place in front of Erez Crossing where Gazans can pass through to receive treatment in Israel or Palestinian hospitals in West Bank.

Speakers at the sit-in said that Gaza’s hospitals suffer from shortages in medicines, lab equipment and testing materials due to the Palestinian Authority (PA) sanctions and the Israel’s siege of the strip.

The patients called for the international community to save their lives by lifting the siege and sanctions.

Spokesman of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Ashraf al-Qidra, called for an, “immediate and unconditional end of the suffering of the Gaza patients.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Coming Coup to Overthrow President Trump: Sedition at the Highest Levels

The annual budget of the military/security complex is $1,000 billion. This vast sum is drawn from US taxpayers who have many unmet needs. To justify such an enormous budget a major enemy is required. Syria’s Assad Set to Recover Golan Frontier as Surrender Deal Agreed: Sources

President Bashar Assad is set to recover control of the Syrian frontier with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights in a major victory over rebels who have agreed to surrender terms, sources on both sides said Thursday.

Backed by Russian air power and unopposed by Assad’s foreign adversaries, government forces have swept through southwestern Syria in the last month in one of the swiftest campaigns of the war, forcing surrender on massively outgunned rebels.

The campaign, which has already restored Assad’s control over a critical portion of the frontier with Jordan, marks another milestone in his efforts to recover control of the country fractured by more than seven years of conflict.

There was no government confirmation of the Qunaitra agreement. State media cited “reports” a deal had been reached. It was not clear when implementation would begin.

A copy of the agreement sent to Reuters by a rebel source said insurgents had negotiated the deal with Russia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The questions here are, to what lengths will Russia and Al Assad go to recover the Golan from Israel, and to what lengths Israel will go to keep it?!?

And the other question is, what can we do to keep the US from getting caught up in this fight, which could well turn into a hot war against Russia over the Golan?!?

PENTAGON: US-BACKED MILITIAS HOLDING 600 FOREIGN FIGHTERS IN CUSTODY

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are currently holding nearly 600 foreign fighters in custody, the Pentagon told reporters yesterday.

“As of July 2018 there are nearly 600 Foreign Terrorist Fighters from more than 40 countries in SDF custody,” Pentagon spokesman Navy Commander Sean Robertson said, adding that the US military was also aware of more than 400 Syrian nationals who were also being detained by the SDF.

A US military official with the coalition told CNN that of the foreign fighters in detention, some 40 are from Russia, with around a dozen from Germany and France respectively.

The fate of foreign fighters has been subject to heightened debate since the establishment of Daesh in Syria and Iraq. US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis previously emphasised that the fighters’ countries of origins needed to take responsibility for them.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No, Sec-Def Mattis; the countries of origin did not encourage these men to fight the duly elected Syrian government and their militaries; the US government did that!!

And if political resolutions between these militia and the Syrian government can be facilitated, so much the better for everyone.

We have yet to learn of any large and widespread U.S. demonstrations on behalf of the children and families of Yemen, where the U.S. is deeply complicit in the creation of a situation that “looks,” in the words of the United Nations’ humanitarian chief, “like the Apocalypse.” UNICEF reported last year that a child dies from preventable causes on the average of once every 10 minutes in Yemen.

Dems, Left Wing Media Claim Russian Hacking an ‘Act of War’

President Donald Trump’s refusal to rehash allegations of Kremlin-backed interference in the 2016 presidential election during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin Monday incensed Democrat lawmakers and left wing media pundits.

Standing alongside Putin, President Trump steered clear of confrontation with the Russian, while questioning U.S. intelligence and last week’s federal indictments of 12 Russians for hacking into Democratic email accounts to purportedly hurt Hillary Clinton in 2016.“I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today,” President Trump said following a two hour one-on-one meeting with his Russian counterpart. “He just said it’s not Russia. I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

President Trump’s remarks prompted an onslaught of calls for the U.S. to respond to Russia’s alleged meddling, described as an “act of war.”

President Trump has been hinting for months that he was going to create a separate branch of the military related to outer space that is being referred to as the Space Force. Trump is publicly giving the Outer Space Treaty the big middle finger as the treaty is recognized by over 100 nations including the U.S. The treaty prohibits military action in space.
