US Continues Imports of Russian Gas Which It Insists Europe Should Stop Buying

Several cargo ships carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia’s Yamal LNG plant have arrived in the US, Russia’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced, highlighting the obvious weirdness of the situation.

“Oddly enough, with all this visible public flow of negative rhetoric from Washington, Russian liquefied natural gas is successfully being supplied to the US,” Zakharova said>>>

US Could Lose in War with China or Russia, Panel Warns

The United States is facing a national security and military crisis and could lose in a war against Russia or China, a bipartisan congressional panel warned in a report on Wednesday (Nov 14).

Congress had tasked the National Defence Strategy Commission to look at President Donald Trump's sweeping National Defence Strategy (NDS), which highlights a new era of "Great Power competition" with Moscow and Beijing.

The panel, run by a dozen former top Democratic and Republican officials, found that just as the US military faced budget cuts and diminishing military advantages, authoritarian nations like China and Russia are pursuing buildups aimed "at neutralising US strengths."

The US-led Coalition has resumed airstrikes East of the Euphrates River in Syria, and are using white phosphorous munitions, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

'US to Sail and Fly Wherever International Law Allows': Mike Pence Says Disputed South China Sea Belongs to Nobody
The United States seeks to ward off spreading Chinese influence in Asia's seas by practicing "freedom of navigation" operations - naval and aerial activity in what China believes to be its own territory.

US Vice President Mike Pence has said that the contested South China Sea isn't the domain of any country, challenging Beijing's claims to the resource-rich region.

"The South China Sea doesn't belong to any one nation, and you can be sure: the United States will continue to sail and fly wherever international law allows and our national interests demand," Pence said on Friday.

US Will Defeat EU Army

The testy slap-down by US President Donald Trump to the idea of a European army was telling. Any notion of the Europeans stepping away from American "protection" would be anathema to Washington.

That's because American power is not about "protecting" Europe. That's just the vainglorious, propaganda mythology. In reality, it's all about Washington maintaining a lucrative protection racket in Europe, imperial control over supposed "allies", and militarily targeting Russia as the main objective.

The idea for a European army was floated again last week by French President Emmanuel Macron.>>>

Judge postpones decision in CNN lawsuit over Jim Acosta's press pass

Lawyers for CNN and the Trump administration are awaiting an initial ruling on the network's federal lawsuit over press access to the White House.

And they're going to have to wait a little while longer.

Judge Timothy J. Kelly heard nearly two hours of oral arguments about CNN's request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction on Wednesday. Then he said court would reconvene Thursday at 3 p.m.

But on Thursday afternoon, he rescheduled the next hearing for Friday at 10 a.m.

If Kelly grants CNN's requests on Friday, CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta would get his press pass back for a short period of time. If it's denied, Acosta's pass will remain suspended.

Bolton’s Met His Match – Melania!

We don’t really hear all that much about Melania Trump in the media except occasional digs at her immigration status and a few daring photos. That’s because the FLOTUS is one of the few unreservedly good things about this administration, and of course the media doesn’t want to go there. Her grace, her reserve, her remarkable calm at the epicenter of a tumultuous White House, and, strikingly, her sense of style (and I don’t just mean her clothes) puts her on a different plane from the Washington circus that surrounds her.

Iraq rejects US deadline to halt Iran gas imports

Iraq has rejected a US deadline to stop importing Iranian gas, warning that any halt to the supplies would create a real power crisis which sparked several days of unrest in Basra and elsewhere this summer.

“Stopping Iranian gas after the deadline will create a real power crisis. We need more time … the Americans are completely aware of how desperately we need Iranian gas,” an Iraqi official was quoted as saying on Wednesday.

The announcement came after the US embassy in Iraq said on Thursday that Washington had given Baghdad 45 days to stop purchasing gas and electricity from Iran.

Iraq has extensive trade ties with Iran and heavily depends on Iranian natural gas imports for electricity generation. Basra in southern Iraq was hit by violent protests which spread to other cities this summer, partly because of a halt of Iranian electricity exports.

Fox News and other outlets join CNN fight over press access to White House

More than a dozen news outlets -- from the Associated Press to USA Today, The Washington Post and Politico -- are filing friend-of-the-court briefs to support CNN and Jim Acosta's lawsuit against President Trump and several top aides.

The list represents most of the biggest news organizations in the United States.

The most notable name on the list is Fox News. In fact, Fox went further than most other media companies on Wednesday, issuing a statement that said "Secret Service passes for working White House journalists should never be weaponized."

Trump ‘Trade War’ Hides Military Industrial Agenda

In geopolitics events are rarely what they seem to be. This is especially true when we look more closely at the otherwise bizarre “war” launched this spring under the guise of trade war, supposedly redressing America’s huge annual balance of trade deficits, the most extreme being that with China. The true driver behind Washington’s otherwise inexplicable tariff war attacks on especially China make sense when we view them through the prism of a new Administration report on the defense industrial base of the United States .

When it comes to North Korea, who's really being deceptive?

In the vaguely worded agreement, Trump and Kim pledged to build a "lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula" and to "work toward complete denuclearization" of the peninsula.

Pyongyang is not violating that pledge by continuing to operate missile sites. In fact, most analysts agree Kim would be foolish to dismantle active facilities without a signed agreement.

In his New Year's address, the North Korean leader called on his nation to bolster its nuclear deterrent by mass producing missiles and nuclear warheads.

Kim is just doing exactly what he promised.

I would like to say that China is a good example [for other countries] in terms of respect for international law. Israel Wins 2018 Midterm Election

Judging from the mainstream media, Israel was not a major issue in the midterm election but it sure did come up a lot when candidates for office were wooing Jewish or Evangelical voters. To cite only one example, Florida Congressman Ron DeSantis criticized his opponent Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum during their gubernatorial race for receiving support from the Dream Defenders, a group favoring Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel, and giving a speech welcoming members of the Council on American-Islamic Relations to his city. DeSantis claimed in a video clip that “I can find anti-Semites around him, but it’s almost like ‘we don’t want to discuss that.’”

DeSantis, who sponsored the 2013 Palestinian Accountability Act which called for the withholding of U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority until it recognizes Israel as a Jewish state, charged that Gillum would not be a “friend” of Israel. In 2017, he co-founded the Congressional Israel Victory Caucus, saying “Israel is our strongest ally in the Middle East, as we share common national interests and possess similar national values. Israel is not the problem in the Middle East; it is the solution to many of the problems that bedevil the region. American policy must ensure that Israel emerges victorious against those who deny or threaten her existence.”>>>

MSNBC's Eddie Glaude: "I Overestimated White People," I Didn't Think They Would Put Trump In Office

Professor Eddie Glaude Jr. said he "overestimated" white people in 2016 and didn't think they would put someone like Donald Trump in office. Glaude expressed fear of a Trump loss and what the president and his supporters will do. He also accused the president of "doubling down" on the rhetoric that caused the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting by introducing the Fourteenth Amendment to the discussion.

"Nothing is going to get better after this midterm," Glaude said Wednesday on MSNBC. "Everything is going to get more intense, and it may even get worse. But let me say this. Not only did he not do all the things you just laid out. He introduced birthright citizenship. He doubled down. He doubled down on what motivated them to go in there and kill 11 people. He doubled down like a moral monster."

CNN's Jim Acosta's actions to Trump don't represent the best of journalism

We want journalists to ask questions and seek truth. But Jim Acosta’s encounter Wednesday at a White House press conference was less about asking questions and more about making statements. In doing so, the CNN White House reporter gave President Donald Trump room to critique Acosta’s professionalism.

In this time of difficult relations between the press and the White House, reporters who operate above reproach, while still challenging the power of the office, will build credibility.

This is in no way a defense of Trump’s suspension of Acosta’s White House press credentials. Rather, it’s a caution to not hand your critic the stick to beat you with.

After clashes with first lady and others, Kelly may soon exit White House

John Kelly, mired in conflicts with a widening array of officials from the National Security Council to the office of the first lady, may soon depart the Trump administration, according to seven people familiar with the discussions.

Nick Ayers, Vice President Mike Pence’s chief of staff, is among those being considered for the job, three of the people said, though President Donald Trump has mused about other possible candidates.

Melania Trump has ensured the departure of one White House official, deputy national security adviser Mira Ricardel, after she had a series of run-ins with the first lady’s office.

Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s communications director, issued a pointed statement on Tuesday saying as much. “It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that she no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House,” Grisham said.

Mike Pompeo and John Bolton: Trump’s Tag Team of Death and Destruction!

With the welcome departure of war mongering UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, the Trump Administration’s neocon tag team of death and destruction – Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo and National Security Advisor (NSA), John Bolton – have enthusiastically taken up where the repellent Haley has left off. It is highly doubtful that the former Ambassador will meekly return from under the rock in which she crawled, but will reappear possibly as a primary challenger to her former boss in 2020, and, most certainly, as a Presidential contender in 2024.

Last week, Messrs Pompeo and Bolton were dutifully carrying forth Haley’s promises of mayhem to anyone opposed to US hegemony even if those “enemies” have never taken hostile action against the US mainland. Of course, threats and attacks against nations which have done nothing to America have never much mattered to the foreign policy establishment!

Add it all up, and it constitutes a gigantic obstacle to regular people using their purported power to run our purported democracy.

Saudis ‘don’t know how to use’ US bombs: Trump condemns deadly Yemen school bus strike… kind of

It wasn’t the US-made bomb, but rather the Saudi military’s inability to properly use the munition –despite all the American training– that led to the “horror show” bombing of a Yemeni school bus in August, Donald Trump has said.

A Saudi-led coalition airstrike on a school bus, that killed 40 children and maimed dozens of others in the busy market town of Dhahyan in northern Yemen on August 9, is not Washington’s fault, Donald Trump stated in an interview with Axios on Sunday.

Despite the fact that pieces of a 500-pound (227 kilogram) laser-guided MK 82 bomb made by Lockheed Martin were found at the site of the explosion, Trump shifted the blame for the tragedy to the coalition’s inability to use the US-supplied weapons properly.

US Warplanes Bomb Eastern Syria Again, Kill Several Children, Women

Over 15 civilians, mostly women and children, were killed in the US-led coalition fighter jets' airstrike in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, local sources reported on Sunday.

The sources said that the warplanes targeted residential units near Khalid Bin Walid in the small town of Hajin in Southeastern Deir Ezzur on Saturday, killing at least 15 civilians, mostly women and children, and injuring tens of others.

The sources said some of the injured are in critical conditions.

The Arabic-language website of SANA news agency quoted several local sources in Deir Ezzur as saying last week that the US warplanes targeted several districts in the town of Hajin in Eastern Deir Ezzur with white phosphorous bombs which are forbidden internationally.

This was the second time in a month that the US-led coalition's fighter jets attacked Deir Ezzur with banned weapons under the pretext of fighting the ISIL.

North Korea Warns Of Return To Nuclear Policy

Pyongyang expresses frustration over the slow progress of the lifting of sanctions while US insists on denuclearisation.

North Korea has warned the United States it will "seriously" consider returning to a state policy aimed at building nuclear weapons if Washington does not end tough economic sanctions against the impoverished regime.

In a statement issued late on Friday, the North's foreign ministry said Pyongyang could revert to its former policy if the US did not change its stance over sanctions.

"The word 'byungjin' may appear again and the change of the line could be seriously reconsidered," said the statement carried by the official KCNA news agency.

Khashoggi Family Had Deep Connections to Lockheed Martin, Saudi Power Struggles

Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who is feared murdered in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, was much more than just a Washington Post columnist: he was a figure connected to some of the highest echelons of power in the US and Saudi Arabia.
***
“There’s two main issues, in my opinion, that have caused this sudden outrage to appear in the US mainstream. The first is that there are elements in the CIA that want Mohammed bin Salman’s predecessor, Mohammed bin Nayef, who was crown prince before — they want him to be put back in power because they worked with him in the past>>>

But the second issue, and the bigger of the two in my opinion, is that the Saudis recently made a decision that put in danger the entire $110 billion weapons deal that Trump has been promoting since last year, because that deal wasn’t really a deal at all; it was actually a bunch of letters of intent and letters of interest, and now that the deadlines in some of those deals have come and gone, it’s become clear to the US that the Saudis aren’t going to buy all $110 billion in weapons that they had previously expressed interest in.”

Why Bibi LOVES the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre

***
Netanyahu is a gangster. “Israel” is a global shakedown racket. The so-called state of Israel is in fact a huge river of dirty money flowing into Occupied Palestine. That money is literally “scared up” all over the world by Jews who are terrorized into believing that the Zio gangster state is all that is standing between them and a new set of gas chambers.

Israel’s perennial problem: Jews are doing fine all over the world. They have no reason to go to Israel. They have no reason to send money to Israel. They have no reason to make themselves unpopular in their homelands by bleeding those homelands dry on behalf of Israel.

In fact, American Jews don’t even have any good reason to support US wars for Israel. Polls show that American Jews, more than any other US ethnic group, oppose the 9/11-triggered terror wars on Israel’s enemies.

That’s right: If it were up to American Jews, we’d be 7 trillion dollars richer, and 32 million Muslims would be still alive.

So Netanyahu’s gangster state has one overwhelmingly difficult “national security” imperative: Terrorize the world’s Jews>>>

“What they did to the Mexican military is a disgrace. If they do that with us, they're going to be arrested for a long time,” he added.

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a rare meeting with American evangelical Christians as the conservative kingdom seeks to open up more to the world and repair an image of religious intolerance.

Pittsburgh Shooting: Evidence of False Flag Fakery Surfaces

Following my article on the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting and how there was a drill held in the same area 9 months earlier, I received some very important evidence from a reader. This evidence is in the form of a recording of the police radio traffic in the area during the alleged shooting. It makes intriguing listening as it contains anomalies that are perhaps best explained in the context of this having been a fake false flag event. Thankyou to our vigilant reader and to anyone else who spots something noteworthy about this event, send it to us at VT and we will put it to good use.

Oct 30 09:06

Why aren't we calling the Pittsburgh shooting 'terrorism'?

Perhaps the path to end terrorism begins with abandoning it as a term we selectively deploy and actively distort.

A white gunman walks into a synagogue outside of Pittsburgh and guns down 11 congregants after screaming, "All Jews must die!" during Sabbath services. Another self-identifying white male sends a string of "mail bombs" to democratic leaders and journalists from his hometown in Florida, emboldened by nativist fervour and presidential rhetoric. "Whites don't shoot whites," reveals another gunman, amid a racially motivated shooting outside of a Kentucky grocery store that left two elderly Black customers dead.

Three separate incidents, in different parts of the United States, in three consecutive days - all inspired by racial or religious bigotry that drove the culprits to claim the lives of people they hated, or attempt to assassinate people they deemed the enemy.
***
All three incidents had the touchstone elements of terrorism present: (1) an act of violence that is (2) inspired or prompted by a specific ideology. Although the US government does not adopt a uniform definition of terrorism, and competing definitions of the term are often debated, these two elements are present in almost every one.

President Trump to Sign Executive Order Eliminating Birthright Citizenship

President Trump indicated in an interview with Jonathan Swan of Axios that he plans to sign an executive order eliminating the concept of “birthright citizenship.”

Now, before we dig into the issue, consider the following: the President of the United States has announced that he is ready to unilaterally dismantle a key part of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. In other words, he’ll be overturning a precedent that has existed for over a century and a half.

That doesn’t mean he’s wrong, however.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Trump is not wrong in principle. Many nations have recently ended allowing babies born to non-citizens automatic citizenship. But Trump is incorrect in application. He cannot alter the 14th Amendment with an Executive Order. Only another Amendment can do that.

The 14th Amendment was passed in the wake of the civil war, and the citizenship clause was intended to cement the status of the newly-freed slaves as full-fledged citizens of the US with all rights; which the southern Democrats opposed. Back then, immigration wasn't a problem for the US as there was still plenty of room in the west. But today, the problem with the anchor babies has gone out of control, and I agree something must be done.

Trump will never get a change to the 14th Amendment past the Democrats in the Congress and the state legislatures. So we must go back to securing the borders and not letting illegals inside the country in the first place.

We do not need to change the 14th Amendment. We just need to enforce Title 8.

Israeli jets hit 80 targets in Gaza amid rocket fire and protests

Fighter jets attack dozens of sites across the Gaza Strip as fighters fire about 30 rockets into Israel.

Israeli fighter jets struck dozens of sites across the Gaza Strip early on Saturday as fighters fired about 30 rockets into Israel, in the heaviest exchange of fire in several weeks.

The fighting followed a bloody day of border protests, in which Israeli forces shot and killed five Palestinians protesting along the perimeter fence dividing Hamas-ruled Gaza and Israel.

The fighting and bloodshed complicated the mission of Egyptian mediators, who have intensified shuttle diplomacy to achieve calm and prevent a full-blown conflict between Hamas and Israel.

The Israeli military said it had struck about 80 sites across Gaza by early Saturday morning, including a security headquarters building. Air raid sirens sounded throughout the night in southern Israel, with firing some 30 rockets, the military said.

Conricus told reporters Israel's response would not be "limited geographically".
