Architects of Iraq War ADMIT It Was Illegal

The chief American prosecutor for the Nuremberg war crime trials – Robert H. Jackson – stated:

To initiate a war of aggression, therefore, is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.

Forget third-hand allegations … the architects of the Iraq war admit that they initiated a war of aggression, not a war to defend America from imminent attack.

Congress examine director of Secret Service

Joseph Clancy was heavily criticized in a hearing regarding the latest scandal Secret Service.
Several congressmen questioned the director of the US Secret Service, Joseph Clancy, by recent incidents, including starring two agents who crashed a car into a barrier in front of the White House, reportedly after drinking.

Clancy, who heads an interim basis the agency charged with protecting the president Barack Obama and his family, admitted in a hearing before the Subcommittee on Appropriations of the House not heard of this latest incident, which occurred on March 4 until five days later and it did through an “anonymous” email.

Secret Service Chief Criticized in Congress Over Agents’ Accident

The director of the Secret Service faced bipartisan criticism from lawmakers on Tuesday as he appeared before Congress for the first time since two agents were accused of getting drunk and driving their car into a White House barricade. The March 4 incident prompted another round of embarrassing stories about the embattled agency.

Representative Harold Rogers, Republican of Kentucky and the chairman of the House Appropriations committee, pledged to keep the Secret Service on a “short string” in the wake of recent scandals and security lapses.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The hypocrisy is stunning, both because of chronic US interference in the internal politics of nations around the world, and because Netanyahu tried, with the connivance of the Congress, to subvert the administration's Iran policy!

Worse, the growing schism between the pro-Israel members of Congress (which is most of them) and the White House is now on full display to the rest of the world, along with Israel's obvious subversion of that Congress. Neither of these are good for America's foreign policy as other countries see a government clearly divided against itself and all because of meddling by Israel!

American Amoeba

The transparent truthlessness of the Fed’s basic premises go far to explain the chasm between official policy and reality — though it does not explain the appetite for plain lying of the supposedly informed minority cohort of the public, the deciders among us in business, politics, and media. For instance, the employment numbers that came out of the federal government ten days ago saying that the jobless rate is just over 5 percent. Everybody not in a special ed class in America knows that this is a barefaced lie. But nobody except a few mavericks on the web (see above) object to it. Lesser official oracles such as The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal report the lie without reservation and it gets absorbed into the body politic like any other morsel of protoplasm into the mindless amoeba that America has become.

The Washington Post Will Kill Us All

"War with Iran is probably our best option." This is an actual headline from the Washington Post.

Yes it's an op-ed, but don't fantasize that it's part of some sort of balanced wide-ranging array of varied opinions. The Washington Post wouldn't print a column advocating peace to save its life -- as such an act just might help to do. And you can imagine the response if the headline had been: "Racism is probably our best option," or "Rape is probably our best option," or "Child abuse is probably our best option." Nobody would object: "But they've probably had lots of columns opposing child abuse. Surely they can have one in favor, or do you want to shut down debate?" No, some things are rightly considered beyond the range of acceptability. War, in Washington, is not one of them.

Washington Post BEX - War with Iran is probably our best option

The logical flaw in the indictment of a looming “very bad” nuclear deal with Iran that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered before Congress this month was his claim that we could secure a “good deal” by calling Iran’s bluff and imposing tougher sanctions. The Iranian regime that Netanyahu described so vividly — violent, rapacious, devious and redolent with hatred for Israel and the United States — is bound to continue its quest for nuclear weapons by refusing any “good deal” or by cheating.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Okay, Mr. Muravchik, if you really feel that way about it... Here's your rifle. Here's your parachute. We ran out of the desert camo but here's a bright da-glo orange jumpsuit from the CIA's torture centers. Watch your head climbing into that transport aircraft, and we will call Tehran and tell them you are on your way to kick their butts all by yourself.

But We The People remember the lies about stolen incubators that tricked us into the first invasion of Iraq.

We The People remember the lies about Saddam's nuclear weapons that tricked us into the second invasion of Iraq.

We The People remember how only a year ago you tried to trick us into war with Syria with more lies about poison gas.

We The People remember how there weren't really torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin or a Spanish mine in Havana Harbor, but how there really WERE weapons on board the Lusitania.

In short, We The People remember all the lies, frauds, and deceptions used to trick us into wars of conquest, to send our young people out to die in wars created out of thin air by and for the money-junkies. I think it is time that we have a new rule in America; that those who want war are the first to the front lines. You are all splendidly brave with the lives of other peoples' children. Let's see the true measure of your courage and commitment to war.

You first!

And just to keep you honest, please recall that Iran has not initiated a war of conquest against another nation in over 200 years; a sharp contrast to the US and Israel, which these days cannot seem to go two months without invading, drone-striking, or overthrowing someone else's nation!

Bolton also defended 47 Republican senators, who sent a warning letter to Iran, claiming Obama’s possible nuclear agreement with Iran is a “mere executive agreement” that could be revoked “with the stroke of a pen and future Congresses could modify the terms of the agreement at any time.”

CNN Is Beating the Drums of War

President George W. Bush’s national security advisor, Condi Rice, warned Americans that Saddam Hussein’s (nonexistent) weapons of mass destruction could result in a mushroom cloud going up over an American city. No such threat existed. But today a very real threat exists over all American cities, and the national security advisor does not notice.

The threat issues from Washington and arises from the demonization of Russia and its leadership.

Wolf Blitzer (CNN, March 13) used the cover of a news program to broadcast a propaganda performance straight out of the Third Reich or perhaps from George Orwell’s 1984. The orchestration presented Russia as a massive, aggressive military threat. The screen was filled with missiles firing and an assortment of American General Strangeloves urging provocative measures to be deployed against the Russian Threat. Blitzer’s program is part of the orchestrated propaganda campaign whose purpose is to prepare Americans for conflict with Russia.

Hillary’s Miss Communication

When it comes to the Clintons, you never know which scandals will stick and which will miraculously disappear because of the deal they made with Satan when selling their tattered souls. That being said, Hillary’s metastasizing email scandal seems to have the potential to derail her presidential aspirations – and perhaps incur criminal charges.

It seems that when Hillary became Secretary of State, she immediately set up a private email server in her home and conducted all of her official business (and quite likely monkey business) on that computer email system rather than the cyber-secure government system which is required by federal law.

After a two day silence on the subject, Hillary eventually tweeted that she really, truly wants America to see her emails, and State Department spokes-hipster Marie “Jobs For ISIS” Harf has confirmed that this will absolutely happen. You know, eventually.

State Dept. email archiving process puts Clinton on the spot

The State Department only last month started automatically preserving dozens of high-level officials' emails, according to a department spokeswoman, a revelation that comes amid the controversy surrounding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's own email use.

This is key because Clinton, in her news conference on Tuesday to answer questions about why she exclusively used a private email address to communicate during her tenure, told reporters she'd thought her communications to senior department officials were always saved. That's an important point, given legal requirements for preserving federal records.

Natural gas: The fracking fallacy - The US is banking on decades of abundant natural gas to power its economic resurgence. That may be wishful thinking.

All of those investments are based on the expectation that US gas production will climb for decades, in line with the official forecasts by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). As agency director Adam Sieminski put it last year: “For natural gas, the EIA has no doubt at all that production can continue to grow all the way out to 2040.”

But a careful examination of the assumptions behind such bullish forecasts suggests that they may be overly optimistic, in part because the government's predictions rely on coarse-grained studies of major shale formations, or plays. Now, researchers are analysing those formations in much greater detail and are issuing more-conservative forecasts. They calculate that such formations have relatively small 'sweet spots' where it will be profitable to extract gas.

The results are “bad news”, says Tad Patzek, head of the University of Texas at Austin's department of petroleum and geosystems engineering, and a member of the team that is conducting the in-depth analyses. With companies trying to extract shale gas as fast as possible and export significant quantities, he argues, “we're setting ourselves up for a major fiasco”.

The American Story Is A Mystery Only to Economists

Here’s what Bloomberg’s Craig Torres and Michelle Jamrisko write: “American Mystery Story: Consumers Aren’t Spending Even In a Booming Job Market”. Yes, it is a great mystery to 95% of journalists and economists. Because they have never learned to even contemplate that perhaps people can be so deep in debt that they have nothing left to spend. Instead, their knowledge base states that if people don’t spend, they must be saving. Those are the sole two options. And so if the US government reports that 863,000 underpaid new waiters have been hired, these waiters have to go out and spend all that underpayment, they must consume. And if they don’t, that becomes The American Mystery Story.

For me, the mystery lies elsewhere. I’m wondering how it ever got to this. How did the capacity for critical thinking disappear from the field of economics? And from journalism?

Christopher Bollyn states he has written “Solving 9-11: the Deception that Changed the World” because he could not remain indifferent and silent...”as the lies about 9/11 were used to wage wars of aggression and transform American into a police state.”

US says UN will approve final nuclear deal between Iran, P5+1

US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki has said that the United Nations Security Council would endorse any final nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group.

"We would anticipate that, if we're able to reach a joint comprehensive Plan of Action between the P5+1 and Iran, an endorsement vote would be held by the UN Security Council," Psaki told reporters on Friday.

She added that Washington’s unilateral restrictions imposed against Tehran would be in place, even if the UN Security Council decides to ease its sanctions on the country.

Iran and the P5+1 group -- the US, Britain, France, China, Russia, and Germany -- are currently working to complete the outlines of a nuclear deal by the end of March after they reached an interim agreement in November 2013.

The two sides have by the end of June to clinch a final agreement.

In wake of Hillary email flap, State won't resist reopening FOIA case

The legal fallout over disclosures about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email account continued Thursday, as the State Department acquiesced to a conservative watchdog group’s request to reopen a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit seeking records about one of Clinton’s top aides.

The agency could soon face a wave of similar demands to reopen Freedom of Information Act requests and lawsuits in the wake of confirmation last week that Clinton used only a private email address and server as secretary and did not have an official “state.gov” account.

Democrats sticking by Clinton in email row

Democrats have closed ranks around Hillary Clinton after her public explanation of her email practices.

However, party officials in important election states appeared resigned to the fact that her all-but-certain presidential campaign will be saddled with drama and controversy.

The mood among Democrats around the country suggested the former Secretary of State has work to do to bolster party enthusiasm as she nears the launch of her 2016 campaign.

Clinton emails breathe new life into Benghazi panel

The photo that became an Internet meme - Hillary Rodham Clinton, wearing sunglasses, staring at her BlackBerry - troubles Republicans on the House committee investigating the deadly attacks in Benghazi, Libya, for what they say is an incomprehensible omission.

Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., wants to know why the panel has no emails from Oct. 18, 2011, the day the photo was taken as Clinton, then the secretary of state, was en route to Tripoli. In fact, the committee says it has no emails at all from Clinton's trip to Libya, which occurred just days before longtime Libyan ruler Moammar Gadhafi was killed.

RETIRED ADMIRAL: MICHELLE O’S SCHOOL LUNCH RULES NEEDED FOR ‘NATIONAL SECURITY’
As schools across the country continue to struggle to comply with food restrictions championed by first lady Michelle Obama, supporters of the federal regulations are reframing the issue as one of national security. Retired rear admiral Casey Coane recently wrote in to The Hillto make the case for why school food restrictions on fat, sugar, salt, calories and other nutritional aspects are necessary to keep our country safe.

US Sanctions on Venezuela Not Really About Human Rights

But what’s not too obvious to point out is what the U.S is actually doing in Venezuela. It’s truly remarkable how the very same people who demand U.S. actions against the democratically elected government in Caracas are the ones who most aggressively mock Venezuelan leaders when they point out that the U.S. is working to undermine their government.

The worst media offender in this regard is The New York Times, which explicitly celebrated the 2002 U.S.-supported coup of Hugo Chavez as a victory for democracy, but which now regularly derides the notion that the U.S. would ever do something as untoward as undermine the Venezuelan government. Watch this short video from Monday where the always-excellent Matt Lee of Associated Press questions a State Department spokesperson this week after she said it was “ludicrous” to think that the U.S. would ever do such a thing:

The agency is investigating an incident involving two agents who crashed a car into a White House Security barricade after attending a retirement party for a colleague at a nearby bar, theWashington Post reported. Hillary Clinton's Questionable Process for Sorting Work Emails

Hillary Clinton asked the public to trust her during a recent press conference at the United Nations, when she stated that she has already complied with transparency laws by turning over all public records she generated as Secretary of State.

She had no business making that claim. A Time magazine report about the process used to identify public records in her possession shows that she cannot possibly know if she is in compliance with the law. And juxtaposing her process with the words used in her press conference shows her core claim to be misleading.

Unless she can disprove the story, her credibility can only suffer from the comparison.

Hillary Clinton Didn't Encrypt Her Secretary of State Emails For Months

New details have emerged about exactly how Hillary Clinton secured the homebrew private email servers she used as Secretary of State. The punchline? Clinton didn't encrypt her emails or use a certificate for her first three months running the State Department.

While the future presidential candidate was dodging reporters' questions and complaining about the inconvenience of carrying two phones, security experts at Venafi, a company that sells email security software, went back to January 2009 when Clinton took office and analyzed the server activity through the end of her cabinet term.

The findings are unsettling at best:

No One Read Hillary’s Emails Before Deleting Them

For more than a year after she left office in 2013, she did not transfer work-related email from her private account to the State Department. She commissioned a review of the 62,320 messages in her account only after the department–spurred by the congressional investigation–asked her to do so.

And this review did not involve opening and reading each email; instead, Clinton’s lawyers created a list of names and keywords related to her work and searched for those. Slightly more than half the total cache–31,830 emails–did not contain any of the search terms, according to Clinton’s staff, so they were deemed to be “private, personal records.”

White House petition on ‘47 GOP traitors’ draws 260,000 signatures

A petition to the White House demanding treason charges against 47 Republican senators who attempted to sabotage US President Barack Obama's efforts to reach a nuclear accord with Iran has garnered more than 260,000 signatures.

The petition, on whitehouse.gov, was filed on Monday and had 263,312 signatures as of early Friday morning, well above the threshold of 100,000, which requires the White House to respond.

In an unprecedented move on Monday, a group of Republican senators ignored protocol and sent a letter to Iran, warning that whatever agreement reached with Obama would be a “mere executive agreement” that could be revoked “with the stroke of a pen and future Congresses could modify the terms of the agreement at any time.”

How Iran and the US intersect in “Syraq”

The self-described “Don’t Do Stupid Stuff” Obama administration, with its rambling foreign policy, is driving the real Masters of the Universe who control the current world system absolutely crazy.

A cliffhanger debate will take place this Wednesday at the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Picture Secretary of State John Kerry, new Pentagon supremo Ashton Carter, and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey all testifying in the same room.

The meat of the matter: the House of Cards, sorry, US Congress mulling over what’s the real deal behind the Obama administration’s proposal to use “military force” in Syria, and whether to impose a no-fly zone to protect Syrian “rebels”.

US leak investigation stalls over fears of revealing US-Israel anti-Iran operation

An investigation into a top US military general accused of leaking sensitive information has been halted over fears it could confirm a joint US-Israeli covert operation against Iran's nuclear program, according to US officials.

Federal prosecutors had been investigating whether former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine General James E. Hoss Cartwright, leaked highly classified information to a New York Times reporter, current and former US officials say.

The leaked information was about a highly-classified operation to hinder Iran’s nuclear enrichment capability through cyber-sabotage, an operation not acknowledged by Israel or the US.

The CIA and America's presidents

Many people still think of the CIA as an agency designed to help American presidents make informed decisions about matters outside the United States. That was the basis for President Truman's signing the legislation which created the agency, and indeed it does serve that role, generally rather inadequately, but it has become something far beyond that.

NATO’s Shadow of Nazi Operation Barbarossa

Russia can perceive, rightly, the continuum of aggression.

NATO’s Operation Atlantic Resolve paced ahead this week with the latest arrival of more US military forces in the Baltic region.

Under the guise of defending eastern Europe from «Russian aggression», more than 100 Abrams tanks and Bradley armoured personnel carriers rolled into Latvia. Last month, a similar motorised display of military support was deployed in Estonia – in the town of Narva – with American flags flown by the US Army’s Second Calvary Regiment just 300 metres from the Russian border.

Obama's Request for Authorization Stalls, But War in Iraq and Syria Marches On

The Obama administration appears to be growing increasingly frustrated as its request for congressional authorization for its war in Iraq and Syria stalls on Capitol Hill amid continued criticism from foreign policy experts and grassroots activists.

However, the political roadblocks appear to be having little impact on the war itself, which is stretching into its eighth month, including at least 15 airstrikes from the U.S.-led coalition on Tuesday and Wednesday alone.

The US Has Already Declared War on Russia

At times I feel completely overwhelmed by the current US-NATO military operations aimed at Russia. It's growing rapidly - one can't help but wonder if the recent 'victory' of the self-defensive forces in eastern Ukraine wasn't allowed by Washington and Kiev as a way to get public opinion behind the already well established plans for even more NATO escalation.

It's all just far too neat and tidy to be seen otherwise. This is not a conspiracy but a well designed military plan to take down Moscow. They are playing with fire. In some respects the 'project' is now impossible to stop. The question for the moment is how long will this attack on Russia go on and what level of conflict will result? Will it go nuclear? If so the world is fucked.

GOP Senate Aides: Iran Letter Was ‘Lighthearted’

The unprecedented effort by Senate Republicans to sabotage ongoing US-Iran relations with a letter earlier this week, in which they openly warned Iran of their intentions to dishonor any agreements President Obama made, was a lighthearted jest, according to Republican aides.

“The administration has no sense of humor,” one aide complained, after reports that the letter was likely a felony offense, and could amount to treason.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"I mean, come on; REALLY! We didn't think anyone was going to take us seriously! Honest! It was a joke! We are not traitors! We're not Israel stooges (much). We're not violating the Logan act. But we still think nuking Iran is the way to go!"

Obama’s Foreign Policy Same as Pro-Israel Neocons

After eight years of the George W. Bush administration’s neoconservative, interventionist foreign policy that got America entangled in two horrific wars, circumstances were supposed to be different in 2008 with Barack Obama, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning president. But two years into Obama’s second term, violence has spread from northern Africa across the Middle East and into Ukraine. And if that’s not bad enough, Obama recently opened the door to once again deploying United States ground troops in Iraq and has delayed a scheduled exit from Afghanistan.

Neocon meteor Sen. Cotton is funded by Abrams, Adelson and Kristol and loves war a little too much

The liberal Zionist group J Street says that Cotton was scripted by neoconservative Bill Kristol. Street is reveling in the letter because it is sure to drag the neoconservative rightwing Israel lobby down politically, marginalize the greater-Israel lobby in the far right wing of the Republican Party. Just as the Netanyahu speech has hurt Netanyahu and the Likud wing of the lobby, the Cotton letter is turning out to be an own-goal, scored by the neoconservatives.

The neoconservatives reached out and groomed Tom Cotton when they saw him coming down the pike. The Harvard College and Harvard Law grad spent just one term in the Congress before challenging and defeating Mark Pryor last fall. And he got tons of money then from the Israel lobby.

IT Expert Says He Traced Hillary’s Email Server To Manhattan Government Building

Cyber-security expert Vinny Troia told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren on Tuesday that he traced the IP address of the server Hillary Clinton used to host the private email account she used as secretary of state to a government building in the heart of New York City.

“I did read reports that [the server] was at her house, but when we traced the IP address it came back to the city office here in downtown Manhattan,” Troia told Van Susteren.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Hillary had her email served on a government computer, than everything on it is the property of the taxpayers! If those 31,000 erased emails were private, then she was using government property for personal use. If those erased emails were official business, Hillary is guilty of destroying public property!

Conspiracy, Anyone?

Iran and Syria are the last two holdouts among the Muslim states still resisting the New World Order. The CIA/Mossad-manufactured terrorist group, ISIS, is providing the West with the beheadings and such. (Even though we now know some of the infamous beheadings are phony and not real. Plus, have you noticed that the U.S. media pays NO ATTENTION to the beheadings being committed by Saudi Arabia or Mexican drug gangs--beheadings that have been going on for much longer and with much greater frequency?) And Bibi is pulling on the heart strings of the American people (Christians in particular) by creating the new monster that must be destroyed, namely Iran (and Syria).

In the aftermath of Bibi’s speech, we now have warmongering GOP senators threatening a declaration of war against Iran, even though Iran has not threatened a country in over 250 years.
