The Very Unhinged John Brennan

Both men share Churchill’s approach, with Putin saying: “As nuclear powers, we bear special responsibility” for international security.

Putin said Russia (as a devout Christian country) considered it necessary for the two countries to work together on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation – and to avoid weapons being placed in space.

“Even during the tensions of the Cold War, the US and the Soviets were able to maintain a strong dialogue (with now Russia),” said Trump. “But our relations (with now Russia) have never been worse than they are now. However that changed as of about four hours ago."

He added: "nothing would be easier politically than to refuse to engage" which would "appease partisan critics, the media" and the opposition."

DC Group Wants to Strip Trump Hotel’s Liquor License Over 'Bad Character'

A neighbor advisory commission in the US capital has petitioned to remove the Trump International Hotel’s liquor license, citing Trump’s ‘bad character.’ But what are their chances?

A Washington, DC, Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC 4C) has joined a petition to demand Trump Hotel's liquor license to be revoked. The petition appeals to a DC law that says that liquor license applicants must be of "good character and generally fit for the responsibilities of licensure." So much for precise wording.

"It is our considered view that Donald Trump, the true and actual owner of the Trump International Hotel, is not a person of good character, doesn't meet the DC Code… requirements and therefore the license should be revoked," ANC 4C chairman, Bennett Hilley and Charlotte Nugent, the vice chair, wrote in a letter to the director of the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA), according to the Washington Post.

US launches campaign to erode support for Iran’s leaders

The Trump administration has launched an offensive of speeches and online communications meant to foment unrest and help pressure Iran to end its nuclear program and its support of militant groups, US officials familiar with the matter said to Reuters.

More than half a dozen current and former officials said the campaign, supported by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and national security adviser John Bolton, is meant to work in concert with US President Donald Trump’s push to economically throttle Iran by re-imposing tough sanctions. The drive has intensified since Trump withdrew on May 8 from a 2015 seven-nation deal to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

The current and former officials said the campaign paints Iranian leaders in a harsh light, at times using information that is exaggerated or contradicts other official pronouncements, including comments by previous administrations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just a reminder: Iran does not have a nuclear program other than what it is allowed under the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty, which both Iran and the US signed and ratified.

As for support of militant groups, one only needs to look at the US support of militant groups in Syria to appreciate the stunning hypocrisy involved.

Dick Bove: Trump poised to take control of the Federal Reserve

President Donald Trump has multiple reasons as to why he should take control of the Federal Reserve. He will do so both because he can and because his broader policies argue that he should do so. The president is anti-overregulating American industry. The Fed is a leader in pushing stringent regulation on the nation. By raising interest rates and stopping the growth in the money supply it stands in the way of further growth in the American economy.

First, He Can

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve is required to have seven members. It has three. Two of the current governors were put into their position by President Trump. Two more have been nominated by the president and are awaiting confirmation by the Senate. After these two are put on the Fed’s board, the president will then nominate two more to follow them. In essence, it is possible that six of the seven Board members will be put in place by Trump.

“It’s All Fake” – Reality TV That Masquerades As American Politics

Much like the fabricated universe in Peter Weir’s 1998 film The Truman Show, in which a man’s life is the basis for an elaborately staged television show aimed at selling products and procuring ratings, the political scene in the United States has devolved over the years into a carefully calibrated exercise in how to manipulate, polarize, propagandize and control a population. -- Likewise, “The Trump Show” keeps the citizenry distracted, diverted and divided. -- This is the magic of the reality TV programming that passes for politics today.

America’s Derangement Syndrome A Danger To World Peace

It is significant that Presidents Putin and Trump have both spoken out against “haters” among America’s political establishment who would rather see conflict between Russia and the United States instead of a normalization of bilateral relations. -- Following their landmark, successful summit this week in Helsinki, Putin and Trump separately made public comments deploring the hostile hysterical reaction emanating from broad sections of the US political establishment and its dutiful, controlled news media.

TRADE WAR RISKS BECOMING A DANGEROUS CURRENCY WAR AS CHINA WEAKENS YUAN THE MOST IN 2 YEARS

President Donald Trump called out China and Europe Thursday and again on Friday for manipulating their currencies and keeping them low against the dollar. Hours after Trump's comments were first aired on CNBC Thursday, the People's Bank of China set the dollar's reference rate at 6.7671 yuan, steering the currency 0.9 percent lower and weakening it the most in two years.

House panel considers recognizing Israeli annexation of Golan Heights

A key U.S. House of Representatives committee heard arguments for and against recognizing Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights.

The hearing Tuesday of the national security subcommittee of the Oversight Committee, convened by Rep. Ron De Santis, R-Fla., the subcommittee chairman, was not attached to any piece of legislation.

However, the push by De Santis, who in his remarks favored recognizing Israel’s 1981 annexation of the strategic plateau, represents an aggressive push by some pro-Israel groups, friendly Republicans and the Israeli government to consolidate gains under President Donald Trump, whose closeness to the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is unprecedented.

NEOCONS: Are Kiev’s Euromaidan & Deep-State Anti-Trumpsters The Same Crew?

The anti-Russian “indictment” hysteria that we currently observe in the United States has so many similarities with the Euromaidan psy-ops that was waged by the “glocal” media against people in Ukraine in 2013-2014.

In both cases, there has been a strong appeal to identity. During Euromaidan, they were agitating people by tackling into their national identity, with the concepts of sovereignty (“nezalezhnost’”) being peddled endlessly back then. In present case, with American liberals, there’s a constant emotional appeal to “democratic values” (e. g. “We, as a democratic nation, should build ties with other democracies, not tyrannies”, “Our democracy came under attack!”, and similar slogans).

In both cases, there’s a definite boogeyman. During Euromaidan, it was “evil tyrant” Yanukovich and his supposed Russian bosses. In present day US, it is “traitor” Trump and his supposed Russian curators.

Leaked Netanyahu Tape: We Made Trump Cancel the Iran Deal

On Tuesday an Israeli television channel aired leaked video footage it obtained exclusively showing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu boasting that he had personally convinced President Trump to abandon the Iran nuclear deal. The statements were made at a small dinner event where he addressed senior members of his Likud party.

The video, aired by Israel's Kan News shows Netanyahu enthusiastically praising his and Likud leadership's efforts, saying “We convinced the US president [to exit the deal] and I had to stand up against the whole world and come out against this agreement." He added, "And we didn't give up."

According to a translation of the prime minister's words by The Times of Israel he further agrees that "the Iranian regime" will "disappear with the help of God" — in the words of one of his supporters, to which Netanyahu adds, "You said it. From your mouth to God."

US refused visa to Palestinian officials attending UN meeting

Six Palestinian officials who were scheduled to give a presentation at the UN office in New York have been denied visas by the US without any explanation. The officials were due to attend a high-level meeting on development yesterday to present a report on Palestinian implementation of UN goals for 2030.

In their absence, Palestinian UN Ambassador Riyad Mansour had to step in and make the presentation on behalf of Palestine, which has non-member observer status at the United Nations.

Mansour broke the news to reporters and said that “the Israeli occupying power complicated the matter” by refusing to allow several of the experts to go to Jerusalem to check on their visas.

Mansour said that as the host country the US has violated the UN agreement by refusing entry to a delegation from one of the members of the world body. It’s reported that he will send a letter of protest to the General Assembly committee dealing with host country relations.

Philip Giraldi: Trump Is Israel’s “Useful Idiot”

The claim made by many neoconservatives that Israel and the United States are partners in the Middle East because their strategic interests are identical is belied by the fact that the Israelis are more than willing to ignore Washington when its suits them to do so. The claim of identical interests has always been false, promoted by the Zionist media and an intensively lobbied Congress to make the lopsided relationship with an essentially racist and apartheid regime more palatable to the American public, but, in wake of the slaughter in Gaza and pending legislation in the Knesset empowering Israeli communities to ban non-Jewish residents, it completely lacks any credibility.

It would probably surprise most American friends of Israel to learn that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has visited Moscow three times so far this year, particularly as Russia has been getting vilified in the U.S. mainstream media on an almost daily basis. There is a reason for the Russophobia beyond what Moscow might or might not have done in the 2016 election.>>>

No, Putin Didn’t Agree to Play Lackey Against Iran to Appease Trump & Netanyahu

While Moscow hopes to balance its relationship with Tehran with its ties to Tel Aviv and Washington, premature gloating about the Kremlin abandoning Iran outright — in some “deal” beggared by Netanyahu and Trump, no less — remain mere wishful thinking.
***
Reports alleging a supposed “grand bargain” between the White House and the Kremlin have circulated since Monday. The deal would see the two cooperate to protect Israel’s security by preventing Iran and its Shia allies from establishing a permanent presence on the border of Israeli-occupied territories, or even throughout the whole of post-civil war Syria. According to this theory, Russia would also pressure Tehran to curb its missile development programs.

In exchange, Moscow would be given a freer hand in Ukraine while sanctions against Russia would be loosened.

These reports appear to be far more sizzle than steak>>>

Russiagate: A CIA Concocted Hoax

No Russian interference in America’s political process occurred in 2016, earlier, or is being cooked up for the nation’s November midterm elections.

Trump knows it and said so in Helsinki. When asked if he holds Russia accountable for anything, he said:

“I hold both countries responsible (for dismal bilateral relations). I think that the United States has been foolish. I think we’ve all been foolish…And I think we’re all to blame.”

Regarding election meddling, he said: “There was no collusion at all. Everybody knows it. And people are being brought out to the fore. So far that I know, virtually none of it related to the campaign. And they’re going to have to try really hard to find somebody that did relate to the campaign.”

“My people came to me and some others…(T)hey think it’s Russia…President Putin…said it’s not Russia. I will say this: I dont see any reason why it would be.”

The Coming Coup to Overthrow President Trump: Sedition at the Highest Levels

The annual budget of the military/security complex is $1,000 billion. This vast sum is drawn from US taxpayers who have many unmet needs. To justify such an enormous budget a major enemy is required. The military/security complex and the media and politicians that the complex owns have designated Russia to be that enemy. The complex and its political and media agents will not permit Trump to normalize relations with Russia.

To prevent President Trump from reducing the dangerous tensions between nuclear powers that Washington has created, the military/security complex orchestrated Russiagate, a proven hoax, but believed by many due to its endless repetition. The military/security complex orchestrated the false indictments of 12 Russians. The military/security complex orchestrated the false arrest of Maria Butina, and so on and on.

Trump impeachment push emerges as next Dem litmus test

Liberal lawmakers and pundits, emboldened by bipartisan outrage over President Trump's summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, have kicked up calls to pursue impeachment -- indicating the issue could fast become the next litmus test for Democratic candidates.

The discussion follows the recent political frenzy over calls to "abolish" Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). That effort briefly served as a similar litmus test in the wake of Trump's zero-tolerance immigration policy, which led to family separations at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The GOP-controlled House countered on Wednesday with a vote on a resolution expressing support for ICE, effectively daring Democrats to go on the record with opposition to the agency. The measure passed, with a total of 133 Democratic representatives voting "present" -- amounting to a procedural refusal to take a position despite weeks of heated anti-ICE rhetoric from party leaders.

Trump Stands His Ground on Putin

The worst-case scenario would be that the establishment actually believes the nonsense it is spouting. But that is hard to credit. Like the boy who cried “Wolf!” the establishment has cried “Fascist!” too many times to be taken seriously.

A month ago, the never-Trumpers were comparing the separation of immigrant kids from detained adults, who brought them to the U.S. illegally, to FDR’s concentration camps for Japanese-Americans.

Some commentators equated the separations to what the Nazis did at Auschwitz.

If the establishment truly believed this nonsense, it would be an unacceptable security risk to let them near the levers of power ever again.

Using Occam’s razor, the real explanation for this behavior is the simplest one: America’s elites have been driven over the edge by Trump’s successes and their failure to block him.

Hysteria is at fever pitch. After the NATO summit in Brussels, the definitive Decline of the West has been declared a done deal as President Trump gets ready to meet President Putin in Helsinki.

It was Trump himself who stipulated that he wants to talk to Putin behind closed doors, face-to-face, without any aides and, in theory, spontaneously, after the preparatory meeting between Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was canceled. The summit will take place at the early 19th century Presidential Palace in Helsinki, a former residence of Russian emperors.

The unhinged rhetoric of American liberals and neocons over Donald Trump’s meeting with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki is deeply repugnant and strangely disorienting.

This is especially the case for someone my age, born less than a decade after the United States Air Force vaporized hundreds of thousands of civilians at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a year after the US had killed almost a quarter of North Koreans, who watched as a teenager the US scald and incinerate millions of people in Indochina.

Dems, Left Wing Media Claim Russian Hacking an ‘Act of War’

President Donald Trump’s refusal to rehash allegations of Kremlin-backed interference in the 2016 presidential election during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin Monday incensed Democrat lawmakers and left wing media pundits.

Standing alongside Putin, President Trump steered clear of confrontation with the Russian, while questioning U.S. intelligence and last week’s federal indictments of 12 Russians for hacking into Democratic email accounts to purportedly hurt Hillary Clinton in 2016.“I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today,” President Trump said following a two hour one-on-one meeting with his Russian counterpart. “He just said it’s not Russia. I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

More cover-up questions The curious murder of Seth Rich poses questions that just won’t stay under the official rug By James A. Lyons

The facts that we know of in the murder of the DNC staffer, Seth Rich, was that he was gunned down blocks from his home on July 10, 2016. Washington Metro police detectives claim that Mr. Rich was a robbery victim, which is strange since after being shot twice in the back, he was still wearing a $2,000 gold necklace and watch. He still had his wallet, key and phone. Clearly, he was not a victim of robbery.

This has all the earmarks of a targeted hit job. However, strangely no one has been charged with this horrific crime, and what is more intriguing is that no law enforcement agency is even investigating this murder. According to other open sources, Metro police were told by their “higher ups” that if they spoke about the case, they will be immediately terminated. It has been claimed that this order came down from very high up the “food chain,” well beyond the D.C. mayor’s office. Interesting.

Lawmakers, Media Look to Undermine US-Russia Detente

Monday’s summit between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin ended with a relatively modest press conference. Things went well, by both leaders’ accounts, and it represented a small but significant attempt at improving bilateral relations from their recent lows.

Deals were said to have been reached on cooperation on some fronts. Putin says he even told President Trump he intends to extend the New START nuclear treaty that is set to expire in 2021. But don’t expect any positive coverage of the talks in the press, let alone any votes of encouragement from the US Congress.

That’s because US hostility toward Russia being what it is, there is an incredible amount of bipartisan comfort with continuing that acrimony. Trump faced condemnations for even attending the summit, and more still for getting out of it without picking a fight with Putin.

Obama Administration Allowed Violent Criminals, Drug Smugglers and Human Traffickers Along With Unaccompanied Alien Children Into The USA Per 224-Page HHS Report

Can it be true? The beloved Obama administration screwed up royally regarding drug smugglers, human traffickers, violent criminals and unaccompanied alien children [UAC] into the USA, while nothing was done to stop it or report upon it by the mainstream, lamestream press and media? Well, according to the 224-page U.S. Health and Human Services Report, that’s exactly what happened, so don’t you think President Trump is doing the correct thing regarding keeping U.S. citizens safe? Or, don’t you want to be safe in your own homeland?

HOUSE DEMOCRAT CALLS FOR ‘MILITARY FOLKS’ TO STOP TRUMP

Democratic Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen on Monday called for the “military folks” to save America from President Donald Trump after Trump’s much-criticized press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Where are our military folks? The Commander in Chief is in the hands of our enemy!” Cohen wrote on Twitter, using language suggestive of a military coup.

CNN's Philip Mudd Calls for ‘Shadow Government’ to Rise Up, Oppose Trump

In a disturbing declaration during Monday’s CNN Newsroom following President Trump’s controversial press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, CNN analyst and former CIA/FBI official Philip Mudd called for a self-appointed “shadow government” to step forward and counter the democratically elected one. He then had the audacity to complain about “Trumpianism” fighting Americanism.

Fresh off of declaring the Trump-Putin press conference “one of the most disgraceful performances” by an American president, AC360 host Anderson Cooper completed the CNN’s feedback loop by touting Arizona Republican Senator John McCain saying the same thing. He then turned to Mudd and asked if he agreed.

‘US law doesn’t apply here’: India’s defense chief resists pressure over S-400 deal with Russia

American laws are their own matter locally and have nothing to do with India, the country’s defense chief said, refusing to bow to a US sanctions threat over its planned purchase of Russian S-400 air-defense systems.

New Delhi has relayed to Washington that the threat of unilateral US sanctions will not have an impact on its decision on the possible purchase of S-400 Triumf air defense missile systems from Russia.

“We have told the US Congress delegation that this is US law and not a UN law,” India's defense minister Nirmala Sitharaman noted, apparently referring to a US federal bill that was implemented in 2017.

US Media is Losing Its Mind Over Trump-Putin Press Conference

As soon as the press conference ended CNN cut to its panel with these words from TV personality Anderson Cooper: “You have been watching perhaps one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president at a summit in front of a Russian leader, surely, that I’ve ever seen.”

David Gergen, who for years has gotten away with portraying himself on TV as an impartial political sage, then told CNN viewers:

“I’ve never heard an American President talk that way buy I think it is especially true that when he’s with someone like Putin, who is a thug, a world-class thug, that he sides with him again and again against his own country’s interests of his own institutions that he runs, that he’s in charge of the federal government , he’s in charge of these intelligence agencies, and he basically dismisses them and retreats into this, we’ve heard it before, but on the international stage to talk about Hillary Clinton’s computer server …”

“It’s embarrassing,” interjected Cooper.

Ron Paul calls Trump-Putin meeting 'a success': 'This was significant diplomacy'

Despite bipartisan backlash, former Republican Rep. Ron Paul echoed his son’s praise of President Trump’s meeting with President Vladimir Putin, calling it “significant diplomacy” that was “very worthwhile.”

“I would say that this was significant diplomacy,” Mr. Paul, a libertarian and former Republican presidential candidate, said Monday on his web show “Liberty Report.”

“It has to be that the neocons aren’t very happy because Trump sounded pretty reasonable,” he added. “And I think Trump won on this. And I don’t think Putin was seen in a bad light.”

A Sardonic View From France To The Helsinki One-On-One Summit

The Senate committee in charge of Russian interference (translation: Trump’s liquidation) confirmed the initial claims of the “thirteen intelligence agencies” that the Russians wanted Trump elected. This is the polar opposite of the same commission in the House of Representatives that has powerfully demonstrated that this Russian affair was an artificial construction of the hegemonic lobby of Anglo-Saxon espionage. Thus, a few days before Helsinki, the Senate gave the one-party media an opportunity to change the subject and put Putin in the position of the accused and Trump as a foreign agent.

US Message To Assad: "We Will Pull Out Of Syria If Iran Withdraws"

As Presidents Trump and Putin are set to meet Monday in Helsinki, efforts toward winding down the proxy war in Syria will no doubt be high on the agenda.

We explained previously that the diplomatic cards for ending the war seem to have fallen into place as just days before the historic summit Netanyahu said in a stunning turnaround for Israeli policy fresh off his own visit with Putin in Moscow that "Israel does not object to President Bashar al-Assad’s regaining control over all of Syria" so long as Iranian forces are pushed back from the Israeli border, according to the New York Times.

And now according to a new bombshell report, US military commanders have conveyed to Syrian President Assad via Russian mediation that "we will pull out of al-Tanf and the North if Iran withdraws from Syria."

Netanyahu, Trump discuss Iran, Syria ahead of Helsinki summit

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said yesterday that he had discussed with US President Donald Trump issues related to Iran and Syria ahead of Trump’s summit with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin in the Finnish capital, Helsinki.

“On Saturday evening, I spoke with US President Donald Trump over the telephone and discussed security and diplomatic issues in light of developments in the region, with Syria and Iran first and foremost, of course”, Netanyahu said during the Israeli cabinet’s weekly meeting.

“As you know, these issues will also come up at the president’s summit in Helsinki. Of course I discussed them with President Putin last Wednesday”, he added.

Netanyahu praised in his remarks what he described as the US President’s “firm policy” towards Iran, adding that since the policy was adopted “we have seen its significant impact on Iran”.

Trump and Putin's love-in: Russian strongman says 'Da' I wanted Trump and claims money moved out of Russia illegally went to Hillary Clinton - while U.S. president boasts of his 'brilliant' election campaign

But Trump was having none of it – at a press conference where he demanded someone find Hillary Clinton's deleted emails, pointed to a server associated with a House Democratic staffer, and accepted a soccer ball from Putin after congratulating the Russian team's performance at the World Cup.

'And I have to say if they had it, it would have been out long ago,' Trump interjected, referencing unverified claims in the Steele dossier about his conduct in a Moscow hotel room during the Miss Universe Pageant before he was president.

'Our relationship has never been worse than it is now. However that changed as of about four hours ago,' the president told a packed room of reporters in Helsinki at his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump begins Helsinki summit by blaming U.S. 'foolishness and stupidity' for tensions with Russia – as he rails against the 'Rigged Witch Hunt' and 'Crooked Hillary'

President Donald Trump set the tone for his high-stakes summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday by tweeting about 'Crooked Hillary' and the 'Rigged Witch Hunt' – and claiming that Washington is to blame for frosty relations between the two countries.

He also claimed that President Obama thought Russian meddling was 'no big deal' in a message blasting his predecessor.

'Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!' Trump wrote.

In faulting the U.S. for the bitter relationship that has ebbed and flowed for decades and turned especially toxic after election meddling charges in 2016, Trump curried favor with Moscow in advance of Putin's arrival.

Russia's ministry of foreign affairs said 'we agree' in a tweet responding to the shocking accusation.

Tripoli – Capital of militias: Armed groups capture the Libyan state

Since the arrival of the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli in March 2016, four large local militias have gradually divided up the capital between themselves. Though nominally loyal to the government, they now exert a degree of influence over state institutions and resources that is unprecedented in post-Qaddafi Libya. This Paper examines the rise of a militia cartel in Tripoli, and concludes that the situation is untenable, as it risks provoking a major new conflict over Tripoli fought by those who have been excluded from access to the state and impedes efforts to establish a meaningful unity government. >>

Is a Coming NATO Crisis Inevitable?

Of President Donald Trump’s explosion at Angela Merkel’s Germany during the NATO summit, it needs to be said: It is long past time we raised our voices.

America pays more for NATO, an alliance created 69 years ago to defend Europe, than do the Europeans. And as Europe free-rides off our defense effort, the EU runs trade surpluses at our expense that exceed $100 billion a year.

To Trump, and not only to him, we are being used, gouged, by rich nations we defend, while they skimp on their own defense.

At Brussels, Trump had a new beef with the Germans, though similar problems date back to the Reagan era. Now we see the Germans, Trump raged, whom we are protecting from Russia, collaborating with Russia and deepening their dependence on Russian natural gas by jointly building the Nord Stream 2 pipeline under the Baltic Sea.

THE PARTY’S OVER – FBI AND DOJ MUST TURN OVER ALL SPY DOCUMENTS TO CONGRESS UNREDACTED

In a move that could kill two birds with one stone, the White House has ordered the FBI and DOJ to turn over all documents on Obama’s spy Stefan Halper. This could be monumental as everyone knows that President Trump would love to fire both Christopher Wray and Rod Rosenstein but politics just won’t allow it. You may or may not realize that the ultimate decider of what is classified and what is not is the president of the United States.

There is no one who can overrule him including the Supreme Court. If either or both refuse to turn over the information, President Trump would be free to fire them and appoint temporary replacements of his choice without Senate consent. He could pick the most radical replacements he wants and they would serve until the Senate confirms a replacement.

TEHRAN (FNA)- A majority of Russians say they have a negative view of US President Donald Trump, according to a new poll from state pollster Russian Public Opinion Research Center.

Neocons Panic As Trump-Putin Meeting Could Mark Close Of Syrian Proxy War

When multiple op-ed pieces appear in the pages of the New York Times, Washington Post, and the CFR-owned Foreign Affairs authored by neocons simultaneously pleading with Trump Don't Get Out of Syria(!) all within the same week, this is typically an indicator that the president is about to do something good.

Trump is set to meet with Putin one-on-one this coming Monday in Helsinki after a contentious NATO summit and a sufficiently awkward visit with Theresa May, and mainstream pundits' heads are exploding.

After a “very intense” summit with leaders of NATO member states earlier this week, U.S. President Trump has claimed that he has managed to secure commitments from the European leaders of NATO member countries that will see them increase their military spending. On Wednesday, Trump allegedly told NATO leaders that if they did not meet their defense spending targets of at least 2 percent of gross domestic product by next January, the United States would consider withdrawing from the alliance, prompting an emergency NATO summit. After the emergency meeting, Trump told reporters, “I told people that I’d be very unhappy if they didn’t up their financial commitments substantially.”
