Amid Word War 3 fears, Vladimir Putin warns of global chaos if US, others attack Syria again

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Sunday that further Western attacks on Syria would bring chaos to world affairs, as Washington prepared to increase pressure on Russia with new economic sanctions.

In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, Putin and Rouhani agreed that the Western strikes had damaged the chances of achieving a political resolution in the seven-year Syria conflict, according to a Kremlin statement.

White House acknowledges the U.S. is at war in seven countries

The U.S. is officially fighting wars in seven countries, including Libya and Niger, according to an unclassified White House report sent to Congress this week and obtained by the New York Times.

Known officially as the “Report on the Legal and Policy Frameworks Guiding the United States’ Military Force and Related National Security Operations,” the document is part of a new requirement outlined in the 2018 defense spending bill. The White House is already required to update Congress every six months on where the U.S. is using military force.

Trump attorney asks judge to allow the President to have FIRST look at FBI evidence seized in Michael Cohen office raid

An attorney for President Donald Trump has told a federal judge that prosecutors should not get to study evidence seized from his personal lawyer until he has a chance to review the material and identify items that might be subject to attorney-client privilege.

Attorney Joanna Hendon filed papers late Sunday asking a federal judge to block prosecutors from studying the material until Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen and the president have both had a chance to review it.

'Fairness and justice - as well as the appearance of fairness and justice - require that, before they are turned over to the Investigative Team, the seized materials relating to the President must be reviewed by the only person who is truly motivated to ensure that the privilege is properly invoked and applied: the privilege-holder himself, the President,' Hendon wrote.

Trump’s Choice Of Bolton Satisfies His Biggest Donor

Last August, shortly after John Kelly replaced Reince Priebus as White House chief of staff and Steve Bannon was fired as the president’s chief strategist, John Bolton complained that he could no longer get a meeting with Donald Trump.

Just three months later, however, on the eve of Trump’s belligerent address to the United Nations, Bolton was once again in direct contact with the president. How did this turnabout take place? The reconnection was reportedly arranged by none other than Sheldon Adelson, the Trump campaign’s biggest donor.

James Comey Says ‘I Hope Not’ When Asked if Trump Should Be Impeached

A star is born!

At least, that’s what former FBI Director James Comey must be thinking about himself. This Tuesday, Comey’s new ‘b**chy’ memoir, to borrow a descriptive phrase from Fox News’ Chris Wallace, will be released. In preparation for the book drop, Comey spent the weekend frequenting the usual suspects of humdrum Sunday cable shows, boosting his own compromised image and lambasting President Trump.

The media, like the bloodsucking demons they are, are eating the whole thing up. The press is desperate to hear James Comey’s story, hoping it will provide the silver bullet to bring down Trump. There’s only one issue: When Comey was asked if Trump should be impeached, he gave an answer that caught many liberals by surprise.

Only Economic Collapse Will Bring Down the American Empire

Despite the vehement pleas and letter-writing campaigns by a significant portion of his political base including notable media personalities such as Tucker Carlson against military action in Syria, President Trump committed what looks like political suicide by ordering air strikes on Friday evening. The bombing, thankfully, appeared to have been thwarted by Syrian air defenses, nor, as of this date, has the insane American, British and French action led to a wider conflagration.

As of yet, no doubt due to Divine Intervention, WWIII has not erupted and although the ramifications of the attack will reverberate for weeks to come, what is clear is that President Trump is now firmly in the clutches of the neocons, Israel, and the American Deep State, all of who are the direct beneficiaries of the wanton attack on the Assad regime.

'We convinced him' on Syria: Macron says he steered Trump on strikes

French president Emmanuel Macron has claimed that he convinced Donald Trump to keep troops in Syria for the long term and limit Saturday’s joint strikes to chemical weapons facilities.

Macron said in an interview on Sunday that restricting the missile strikes to specific targets was not necessarily Trump’s initial plan. “We also persuaded him that we needed to limit the strikes to chemical weapons [sites], after things got a little carried away over tweets,” he said.

The French president also said: “Ten days ago, President Trump was saying ‘the United States should withdraw from Syria’. We convinced him it was necessary to stay. We convinced him it was necessary to stay for the long term.”

'Security Council, unite’: US, UK & France want UN to back their illegal Syria strikes

Having set themselves above international law by bombing Syria without UN authorization, the US, the UK and France are now going calling on other countries to unite behind their fait accompli and endorse their actions.

American, British and French ships and airplanes fired over 100 missiles at Syria Saturday morning, claiming it was in response to the alleged use of chemical weapons in the Damascus suburb of Douma. The three countries did not wait for UN authorization, or even for evidence from the scene: the international team of experts from the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) had just arrived in Syria to investigate when the missiles began to fly.

As US President Donald Trump triumphantly declared “mission accomplished,” his French colleague Emmanuel Macron called for the UN Security Council to step in and pick up the pieces.

Sebastian Gorka Launches Emotional Tirade Against Col. Macgregor For Questioning Syria Strikes

Sebatian Gorka officially jumped the shark Friday night when he launched into an emotional, embarrassing tirade attacking decorated war veteran Colonel Douglas Macgregor for questioning the narrative on Trump's Syria strikes.

Colonel Douglas Macgregor said Friday on Laura Ingraham's show Assad launching a chemical attack when he's on the brink of victory "doesn't make any sense," and said he questions the claims he used "sarin and chlorine gas" together. "That's never happened before," Col. Macgregor said, "that's a first in the history of chemical warfare."

Col. Macgregor added that tonight's attack was a "cosmetic attack" which will amount to little because Russia and Iran are the real power in Syria.

Sebastian Gorka responded by screaming, "Shame on you for questioning General Mattis!"

More sanctions against Russia to be announced on Monday - Haley

Washington plans to slap Moscow with a new batch of sanctions as early as Monday, the US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley said. The new measures are said to be a response to Russia’s alleged “aggressive actions.”
Haley blamed Moscow for the tense relations between the US and Russia and accused it of continuously engaging in aggressive behavior. She added that Washington would respond with a number of aggressive steps of its own.

“The sanctions [are] continuing to happen, which you will see again on Monday,” Haley told Fox News Sunday. “This lets them [Russia] know that this [is] not good behavior.”

The new restrictive measures would be announced by the head of the US Treasury Department, Steven Mnuchin, on Monday, Haley told the CBS’s “Face the Nation.” She also added that the sanction “will have to do with chemical equipment used by [the Syrian President Bashar] Assad.”

Dick Cheney Called Donald Trump to Thank Him for Pardoning Scooter Libby

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told Breitbart News that Cheney phoned the president after the announcement was made.

Before former President George W. Bush left office, he declined to pardon Libby, despite commuting his prison sentence. Cheney was angered by Bush’s decision, telling the president that he had left a soldier on the battlefield in the wake of the partisan investigation of the leak of CIA operative Valarie Plame’s name publicly to the media.

Former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage admitted that he was the source of the leak, but only Scooter Libby was found guilty of lying to the FBI and obstructing justice.

Trump said that although he did not know Libby personally, he had always heard the former Cheney aid was “treated unfairly.”

“Hopefully, this full pardon will help rectify a very sad portion of his life,” he said.

BEX ALERT - The chemical proof that damns Assad: New pictures emerge of gas canister on roof of building where civilians were killed in Douma... as French 'MI6' dossier reveals 44 incidents of toxic agents used in combat

Britain and her allies yesterday presented overwhelming evidence to nail Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's brutal regime as the culprit in the horrific chemical attack on civilians which provoked yesterday's wave of air strikes.

Compelling new details emerged from Paris as the French government presented a declassified report from its DGSE overseas intelligence service, the equivalent of MI6.

It came as Prime Minister Theresa May said all evidence pointed to Assad being behind the attack in Douma because:

Two Mi-8 'Hip' helicopters from his regime were spotted above the city in the hours before the attack – none of the opposition forces has a helicopter.
A barrel bomb was used to deliver the chemicals – a weapon that the rebels do not use.
A yellow compressed-gas canister of a type known to have been used before by the Assad regime was photographed on the roof of a building where a large number of the dead were found.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are no markings on the claimed canister. It is impossible to say where it came from. You only have to look at this comments board to see the mood of the readers, so why don't you accept that you and the government have lost the battle for our minds and stop trying to defend the indefensible.

Media scoundrels consistently support all US-led wars of aggression on nations threatening no one – attacked solely for their sovereign independence, refusing to bow to Washington’s will.

The NYT screamed “US Attacks Syria in Retaliatory Strike” – over nothing, the Times failed to explain.

Other Times headlines continued the self-styled newspaper of record’s assault on Syria, roaring “Britain and France Join Strikes to Show Western Resolve” – the Times way of explaining naked aggression.

Another headline roared “Tough Talk, but a Restrained Strike.” It could have been much more destructive and may be ahead in follow-up aggression.

President Trump’s War Crime is Worse than the One He Accuses Assad of Commiting

The single most important thing that happened last night when the US military on President Trump’s orders launched a wave of over 100 cruise missiles against Syria was that once again the US violated the most profound international law of war: initiating a war of aggression against a nation that posed no threat, imminent or otherwise, to the US or its allies.

Called a “Crime against Peace,” this violation (whose perpetrators, under the precedent set in the Nuremberg Trials that followed World War II, can face capital punishment), is considered worse than any other war crime because, as US Nuremberg prosecutor Robert Jackson explained in his argument at the Nuremberg Trials of Nazi war criminals, a war of aggression is “not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.”

Trump Unhappy With Military Options on Syria, Seeks Broader Offensive - Reports

US President Donald Trump is pushing for a broader military offensive in Syria but Defense Secretary James Mattis has resisted for fear of sparking a clash with Russia, media reported citing White House officials.

Trump in meetings with Mattis has pushed for an attack that would also hurt Russia and Iran in addition to the Syrian government in response to an alleged chemical attack in Duma, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters earlier that the National Security Council would be meeting on Friday afternoon to discuss plans for responding to the incident in Syria.

Is This the Beginning of the End for the Trump Presidency?

Friday night, April 13, in conjunction with Great Britain and France, President Donald Trump ordered an attack on Syria. And the unleashed war hawks were elated. Just to cite one example, Sebastian Gorka (who had been in the administration last year during the first Syrian “false flag” operation) literally proclaimed the coming of the Eschaton and America’s “divine role” to set right everything that is wrong in the world. Like an Abolitionist preacher of old, Gorka demanded a “moral cleansing” and, sounding like Osawatomie John Brown, proclaimed America’s destiny to go round the world, impose equality, and stamp out evil.

I don’t know about you, but for a couple of days there I expected to wake up to the sight of mushroom clouds billowing across the horizon, all our exceptional hopes, wishes, troubles, and cares as a nation gone up in a vapor of smoking plastic. I think it was the Defense Secretary, nickname “Mad Dog,” who put the kibosh on the latest neocon temper tantrum against Bashar “The Animal” al-Assad. Trump Lied to the American People Last Night, 23 Times in 7 Minutes, Destroying his Presidency

It was clear from the first few minutes of War secretary Mattis's press conference last night that these strikes were going to be symbolic. They change nothing on the ground militarily. Russia's threat to respond worked - the US essentially backed down.

Far more important is the damage Trump did to himself politically. One can only guess at the pressures brought to bear on him to take this suicidal (politically) act. I'm starting to think that this whole charade, starting with the Skripal poisoning a month ago, was an elaborate plot to mortally damage his presidency, not to achieve anything in Syria - well, if so, the plotters have succeeded.

Russia Calls US 'Aggressor,' Washington 'Locked and Loaded' to Hit Syria Again

The United Nations Security Council has convened after the US, the UK and France had launched airstrikes at Syria in a move described as "brutal aggression" by Damascus. Moscow stated that the attack had been carried out initially on the eve of the arrival of OPCW experts to the Syrian capital who aimed to probe the alleged Douma chemical attack.

Russia: Strike on Syria 'Act of Aggression' Against Sovereign State

Speaking on the missile strikes, the Russian ambassador to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said Moscow condemns the attack, adding that Washington, London, and Paris disregarded calls for common sense and international laws by conducting airstrikes against Syria. He added that the US actions have lead to a deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Syria.

The “Female Trump” Is Tempting Russia To Disrespect Her At The UN

US Representative to the UN Nikki Haley undiplomatically threatened to “slap” Russia while speaking at a university late last week, reinforcing the impression that she’s cultivated over the past year of being an iconoclastic figure just like her boss in challenging all existing conventions of her profession. Instead of speaking obliquely and implying asymmetrical responses to the differences that she has with her country’s geopolitical rival like any other diplomat – especially a UN one – would ordinarily do, Haley decided to make a post-modern spectacle by personalizing the hitherto peaceful disagreements between the US and Russia in a condescending and mildly violent way. Instead of being ashamed of her rhetoric, Haley is visibly proud of it because she relishes in being the “anti-diplomat” and functioning as a Kraken-like systemic disruptor in shaking up the order of business at the UN.

Trump vows to sanction MORE airstrikes against Syria if Assad dares to use chemical weapons again, as Nikki Haley tells UN Security Council members they have FAILED miserably to tackle his evil regime

President Trump has vowed to carry out further airstrikes on Syria if the regime dares to use chemical weapons again, as Nikki Haley lashed out at Russia during a fiery meeting of the UN Security Council.

Scores of fast jets, fighters and destroyers fired more than 100 missiles at three military targets in Syria on Friday night in retaliation for President Assad's chemical weapons attack on the rebel enclave of Douma on April 7.

While President Trump greeted the end of the attacks with a tweet saying 'mission accomplished', Ambassador Haley promised the US was ready for another strike if Assad crossed the chemical weapons 'red line' in the future.

Haley: Chemical attack could happen in US 'if we're not smart'

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley defended U.S. strikes on Syria following a suspected chemical attack in the country, saying on Sunday that a similar attack could happen in the U.S. if precautions are not taken.

“This very easily could happen in the United States if we're not smart, and if we're not conscious of what's happening," Haley told Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday."

“We have to be very conscious of the fact that we cannot allow even the smallest use of chemical weapons. That's why you saw the president strike this past weekend, that's why you saw him expel 60 Russian spies after the attack in Salisbury," she said, referring to the poisoning of a former Russian spy and his daughter with a nerve agent on British soil last month.

And destruction means not only the loss of lives, but the destruction of any assets tangible or intangible, as can be seen in the simmering trade war between the United States and China.

The spectre of a full-blown trade war between the world’s two largest economies threatens the worst disruption to, and destruction of, the global economy in modern times. Basic economics suggests any such conflict will incur losses all around.

P.C.Roberts: The Trump Regime Is Insane

Is it insane to push for war with Russia, a major nuclear power?
Is it insane to threaten Russia and bring false charges against her?
Is it insane to brag about killing “hundreds of Russians”?

A normal person would answer “yes” to the three questions. So what does this tell us about Trump’s government as these insane actions are the principle practice of Trump’s government?

Does anyone doubt that Nikki Haley is insane?

Does anyone doubt that John Bolton is insane?

Does anyone doubt that Mike Pompeo is insane?

Does this mean that Trump is insane for appointing to the top positions insane people who foment war with a nuclear power?

Does this mean that Congress is insane for approving these appointments?

These are honest questions.

"What is it going to take for Christians and conservatives to snap out of this war fever? What is it going to take for them to give up this ignoble infatuation with Zionist Israel?"

Western Civilization to Self-Destruct?

I don’t think I have a reputation for panicking. But I do think that we are now at probably the most dangerous point in world affairs since Russian and NATO troops faced off at Pristina Airport in 1999, if not since the Cold War.

Progress in European Talks on Iran, But Unclear if Trump Will Accept Plan

European officials say they have made substantial progress in internal talks on the Iran nuclear deal. Planned revisions, likely through a secondary agreement among the EU participants and the US, are being worked on ahead of Trump’s May 12 ultimatum.

The potential stumbling block, as always in the P5+1 deal, is President Trump. Trump has made broad demands for wholesale changes to the already signed agreement, and while the European nations can give him some lip-service on those issues, some changes simply are impossible to impose at this point. That means a risk that no matter what they do, President Trump may try to collapse the deal outright.

Secretary of State-nominee Mike Pompeo said as much to Congress today, In the course of promising “tough action” against Iran, Pompeo suggested the US might have to just destroy the old deal, and then negotiate a whole other, tougher agreement.

Trump Pushes Military to Accept ‘Sweeping’ Strike Against Syria

According to the Wall Street Journal, President Trump is continuing to push top military advisers to accept a plan for a “sweeping” military strike against the Syrian government. They say he is “unhappy” with the Pentagon’s offers so far, feeling they don’t go far enough.

Defense Secretary James Mattis has been openly hesitant about a strike on Syria, saying he is concerned about it leading to a direct US war with Russia. Trump, however, is said to want Mattis to “push the limits a little bit more.”

Indeed, Trump wants the strike not only to hit the Syrian government, but to “exact a price” from both the Iranian and Russian forces inside Syria. This is in keeping with Trump saying just two days ago that Russia should “get ready” for US missiles.

How Israel Postponed  WW3 (inadvertently)

In 2014 Sky owner and media mogul Rupert Murdoch won the ADL Award. The honour was clearly awarded for a reason. On occasion, Sky changes itself into a state propaganda service. The video above shows such an event . Sky crudely cut off the former commander of the British Armed Forces, Jonathan Shaw, as soon as he went ‘off script’ by suggesting that the Syrian regime couldn’t have been behind the Douma gas attack. General Shaw attempted to point out that chemical warfare is a desperate act, not something you would expect from the Assad regime that has basically won.

Inspectors Head to Douma to Investigate Alleged Syria Gas Attack

Inspectors from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) are headed to Douma, Syria, to investigate an alleged gas attack there. The attack was claimed to have happened Saturday, though no real evidence has yet been made public, and Syria is denying it.

Bases evacuated on Russian warning: Syria

The Syrian government and its allies have absorbed a US-led attack, and the targeted sites were evacuated days ago thanks to a warning from Russia, a senior official in a regional alliance that backs Damascus said.

"We have absorbed the strike," the official told Reuters.

"We had an early warning of the strike from the Russians ... and all military bases were evacuated a few days ago," the official said.

Russia says Britain helped fake Syria chemical attack

Russia’s Defence Ministry said on Friday that Britain was involved faking a suspected chemical weapons attack in the Syrian town of Douma.

Britain and its allies accuse Damascus of carrying out the suspected attack on Douma and are considering military action against Syria in response. Syria and its main ally Russia deny a chemical attack took place.

The Kremlin said on Wednesday that the United States had invented reports of a chemical attack in the area, and warned against the use of this as justification for increased military action.

In a televised briefing on Friday, Russia’s Ministry of Defence repeated the government’s stance that the attack was faked, adding that it had proof that Britain participated in its staging.

Syria latest: US 'locked and loaded' if chemical weapons used again

In Brussels, where officials have been watching developments closely, all eyes are on Russia’s possible reaction. One senior minister, who preferred to remain unnamed, said while it thought Moscow would pursue diplomatic channels in the coming days, a more strident response could not be ruled out.

“There is definitely concern over what Russia will do but for the moment it seems they will not react militarily,” said the official who holds a post at the highest levels of the European Commission.

“We’ve been meeting this afternoon to discuss reaction and the feeling is Moscow will definitely do something beyond the diplomatic although what no one knows. It can turn off gas [supplies to Europe] or ratchet up tensions in the Ukraine again.”

Syria 'Chemical Attack' Staged to Provoke US Airstrike, London Pushed Perpetrators – Russian MoD

The Russian Defense Ministry has presented what it says is proof that the reported chemical weapons attack in Syria was staged. It also accused the British government of pressuring the perpetrators to speed up the “provocation.”

During a briefing on Friday, the ministry showed interviews with two people, who, it said, are medical professionals working in the only hospital operating in Douma, a town near the Syrian capital, Damascus.

In the interviews released to the media, the two men reported how footage was shot of people dousing each other with water and treating children, which was claimed to show the aftermath of the April 7 chemical weapons attack. The patients shown in the video suffered from smoke poisoning and the water was poured on them by their relatives after a false claim that chemical weapons were used, the ministry said.

Russian UN Envoy Calls US 'Aggressor-State' as Haley Says Time for Talks Over

Earlier in the day, the United States, the United Kingdom and France launched airstrikes at Syria in a move described as "brutal aggression" by Damascus. Moscow, in turn, stated that the attack had been carried out initially on the eve of the arrival of OPCW experts to the Syrian capital in order to probe the alleged Douma chemical attack.

The United Nations Security Council is holding a meeting at 15:00 GMT at Russia's request to discuss the Western missile attack on Syria.

Russia has introduced the draft resolution condemning the missile strikes against Syrian targets and calling on the US and its allies to immediately stop aggression, according to the Russian mission to the UN. The document qualifies the attack as a violation of international law and UN's charter.

Will Russia Ever Force the US to Get Real?

The airstrike on Syria today had nothing to do with chemical weapons.

It's more in the nature of a bitchslap, bullying, an assertion of Western dominance, a punishment for Russia's interference in Zionist expansion. The US, UK, Israel and France are all factotums of the Rothschild banking cartel. This attack and the coming world war is about the shape of the New World Order, unipolar Zionist or multipolar Western & Eurasian.

Watching the TV News Friday, I was struck that the US political elite actually believed the chemical attacks took place, as implausible as that is. The Western mass media is an extension of the Deep State. The Deep State is the network that serves the Rothschild central banking racket. Politicians like Trump, May, Macron and Nikki Haley are chosen for their lack of moral compunction, and ability to lie convincingly. They impose the Rothschild agenda on the people. That's their job.

The Corrupt U.S. Congress Cheers as the War Industry Steals Billions from the People’s Coffers!

Why does Washington, D.C., always opt for war? First and foremost, war is very profitable. The U.S. war industry, which consists of corporate behemoths that manufacture weapons of war and matériel for the Pentagon and its allies, works hard to maintain astronomical profits. It finances political campaigns in order to purchase loyalty from elected officials, it funds D.C. think tanks in order to maintain a pro-war narrative and ensure new ‘threats’ are always hyped, and it advertises on national media, forestalling the slim chance a corporate journalist might challenge the need for endless war.

It is up to an informed public to remedy this situation. Understanding the following trends, which were distilled from recent Pentagon contracts, is a crucial part of forming an educated, mobilized citizenry.

Trump's Attack on Syria Violates International Law

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened a military strike on the Syrian government after Salafi-jihadist rebels alleged a chemical attack in Douma, but human rights expert Alfred de Zayas says this would be illegal under international law

The US message to the world: Bow down and worship me!

We have no facts. What US politicians (including generals – US generals are all politicians) say does not matter and is not “fact”. The truth is that we won’t know for sure for at least 24 hours what took place. The aggressors will present the attack as a huge success. Don’t believe it! The last time around it took several days to find out what really happened.

This is still my best advice to you: wait for the facts and don’t listen to the Ziocon propaganda machine!

What is clear is that the Neocon-run Trump administration is willing to risk WWIII just to save it’s face, to look “tough” and to maintain the illusion of its relevance. It is also willing to commit the most odious crime under International Law, the crime of aggression, and it does this brazenly, with the supine, cowardly, support of almost all the western political leaders.

DONALD TRUMP ORDERED SYRIA STRIKE BASED ON A SECRET LEGAL JUSTIFICATION EVEN CONGRESS CAN’T SEE

Trump used media reports as his justification.

ON FRIDAY NIGHT, President Trump ordered the U.S. military to conduct a bombing attack against the government of Syria without congressional authorization. How can this be constitutional, given the fact that Article I, Section 8 of America’s founding document declares that “The Congress shall have Power … To declare War”?

The deeply bizarre and alarming answer is that Trump almost certainly does have some purported legal justification provided to him by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel — but no one else, including Congress, can read it.

Are We Over the US/UK Fomented Crisis In Syria?

Paul Craig Roberts

It appears from the very limited US missile attack, most of which were intercepted and destroyed by Syrian air defenses, that the US military prevailed over the crazed John Bolton and carefully avoided a strike that would have resulted in a Russian response. No significant Syrian site appears to have been targeted, and no Russians were endangered.

Several explosions were heard in the Eastern and Southern parts of the capital of Damascus. Al-Alam Arabic TV displayed scenes of public gathering in support of the government in the streets of Warzah in Damascus near an attack site.

Footage coming from Syria shows that people are waving flags of Syria, Iran and Russia in the streets of Damascus, in a show of appreciation.

Witness accounts said nearly 20 Cruise missiles flew towards targets around the capital, but nearly half of them were intercepted.

The Syrian state-run news agency also said that "many missiles missed their targets or were intercepted thanks to the Syrian air defense".

FOX NOOSE EXCLUSIVE: Syrian neighbors react to US-led strikes with excitement, fear and hope

MANBIJ, Syria – Obada Alstof, a 21-year-old opposition activist from the northern countryside of Homs, was woken up with a loud jolt and tremor in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It came as a welcome surprise

“The explosions were so loud,” Alstof told Fox News in the immediate aftermath. “We had no idea what was happening but we immediately expected that the international coalition was targeting the regime locations.”

The United States and its allies wasted little time before retaliating against the Bashar al-Assad regime over its use last week of chemical weapons, sending bombs raining down at a former missile base - some 15 miles west of Homs. That's where the regime is believed to keep chemical-weapon precursors stockpiled -- in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.

According to Pentagon officials, a number of facilities were struck: a chemical weapons storage facility; a chemical weapons equipment storage and crucial command post near Homs; and a scientific research facility in Damascus, believed to be key in the production of chemical and biological weapons.

Putin strongly condemns attack against Syria

MOSCOW, Russia – Russia strongly condemns the attack on Syria, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday.

“Russia strongly condemns the attack on Syria where Russian servicemen are helping the legitimate government in the war on terrorism,” the Kremlin press office quoted Putin as saying.

“By its actions, the United States is increasingly exacerbating the humanitarian catastrophe in Syria and bringing sufferings to civilians and actually conniving at terrorists who have been tormenting the Syrian people for seven years and provoking a new wave of refugees from that country and the region as a whole,” Putin said.

US-Led Attacks On Syria Performed Badly And Will Only Become Worse

MOSCOW, Russia – Russia can get back to discussing the issue of supplying S-300 missile systems to Syria in the wake of the US strikes on that country, Head of the Russian General Staff’s Main Operations Directorate Sergei Rudskoi told reporters at a press briefing in the Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday according to TASS.

“A few years ago, taking into account a pressing request from some of our Western partners, we abandoned the supplies of the S-300 missile systems to Syria. Considering the latest developments, we deem it possible to get back to discussing this issue, not only in relation to Syria, but to other countries as well,” he said.

This has major significance as a total of 71 US-led missiles were intercepted out of 103 launched. Syria defended its country with only the S-200 missile defense system, so an upgrade to S-300 will render future attacks even more useless.

World War III Is Not Imminent

Russia doesn’t have to engage the U.S. to the point where World War III starts. If it understands America’s weaknesses, it can wait while we self-destruct.

The U.S. government has outmoded second generation military forces that are incapable of conducting 4GW (fourth generation warfare). The U.S. leadership is poor. It doesn’t think ahead.

The U.S. does not believe in the principles of its founding. It doesn’t believe in the self-determination of nations. These principles form a kind of social, legal and political law based upon the natural rights of the persons who get together to form by declaration a People, a territory, and a government.

Trump orders strike on Syria in response to chemical attack

President Donald Trump announced that he ordered a strike on Syria in response to last weekend's chemical weapons attack.

Addressing the nation Friday evening, Trump said the joint strike with France and the United Kingdom is currently underway.

"A short time ago, I ordered the United States Armed Forces to launch precision strikes on targets associated with the chemical weapons capabilities of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad," Trump said. "A combined operation with the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom is now underway."

Trump said that the "massacre" last weekend in Syria "was a significant escalation in a pattern of chemical weapons use by that very terrible regime."

"The evil and the despicable attack left mothers and fathers, infants and children thrashing in pain and gasping for air/ These are not the actions of a man," Trump said, referring to Assad. "They are crimes of a monster instead."

Trump also delivered a message to Iran and Russia.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard to President Trump: Do Not Strike Syria

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today (April 12, 2018) called for President Trump to refrain from using military action against Syria that would expand and escalate the conflict, and likely result in additional civilian and military casualties, more refugees, and fewer resources to invest in rebuilding American communities, and instead work toward peace. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is also a signatory on a bipartisan letter to be sent to President Trump urging him to uphold the Constitution and the War Powers Resolution by obtaining the required authorization from Congress before ordering a military attack against Syria.

In a letter to President Donald Trump, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said:

“The people of Syria want peace more than anything else in the world. Attacking Syria will not bring their war-torn country any closer to peace. U.S. military action against Syria will simply escalate and prolong the war, resulting in more senseless death, destruction, and suffering.

On the clamour to repeat the disastrous Iraq and Libya interventions in Syria

"Despite the ongoing death and destruction that has followed Western military interventions in Iraq and Libya, the clamour for a repeat performance in Syria is gaining momentum, especially in Washington and London where Donald Trump and Theresa May have plenty of reasons to want to deflect attention from their internal problems.

"The proponents of military intervention in Syria should name one – only one – instance where such intervention in the Middle East has succeeded. Attacking Syria will achieve just one thing: helping the remnants of Islamic State group and other jihadist cutthroats such as Al-Qaeda, the Saudi-backed (if not created) Jaysh al-Islam (Army of Islam) and the Muslim Brotherhood. It also risks breaking up Syria into ethnic and sectarian entities that will, without a doubt, be at perpetual war with one another..."
