FALLOUT: WWII VETS EXPLAIN DEVASTATING EFFECTS OF NUCLEAR BLASTS

Of the nearly 20,000 soldiers who witnessed the detonations, only a few are still alive and the awesome devastation they beheld still haunts them to this day, both psychologically and physically.

“When the flash hit you, you could see the x-rays of your hands through your closed eyes,” he said. “Then the heat hit you, and that was as if someone my size had caught fire and walked through me. It was an experience that was unearthing. It was so strange. There were guys with bruises and broken legs. We couldn’t believe it. To say it was frightening is an understatement. I think it all shocked us into silence.”

“We were basically used as guinea pigs,” Hern added. “There’s no other word for it.”

As MSM & Hollywood Quackery Continues, U.S. Government Quietly Prepares for Nuclear War

The MSM (Mainstream Media) and Hollywood forms a conglomerated consortium of Marxists, Socialists, creepy-refugee professors from Woodstock, and wanna-be left-wing revolutionaries. They have two different paths. The MSM forces non-news down the throat of the public while decrying the true news in the alternative media. Hollywood is shaping the formation of the public consciousness and forcing a paradigm shift (Overton window principle), a shift to the left through popular culture, film, television, and the music industry. Both of them have one end objective in mind: the dissolution of the United States, and the destruction of its borders, language, religions, culture, and society as a whole in all of its forms.

Retired Green Beret: Was Congo's Ebola 'Bungle-In-The-Jungle' A Planned Mishap?

Malthusian theory holds that depopulation (or zero population growth) is a necessity to control a species (namely humanity) that reproduces and consumes natural resources without limits. This is a “New Age” mantra adopted early on by Communists as far back as Marx and Lenin. The ball has been carried successively by Edward House and Woodrow Wilson, and further exacerbated by such “gems” as Kissinger, Bill Gates, Al Gore, and so forth. Much of the public and almost all of the youth (a recent poll taken showed young people prefer Socialism to Capitalism) have fallen for this mantra.

The “problem” for them is how to push it along quickly: war is one answer, and disease is another.

Terrorists In Syria Receive Chemicals, Victims, UK Training For Upcoming False Flag Chemical Attack

By Brandon Turbeville

History repeats itself and, sometimes, it doesn’t even need generation gaps to do so. In the modern-day West, it only needs a space of a few days or weeks. This is why the US, UK, and French governments feel so confident in their ability to launch airstrikes against Syria for the third time under the Trump administration on the basis of false chemical weapons claims...

Britain Prepares For War Against Russia

The headline in the UK newspaper the Daily Mail on August 7 encapsulated much that is paranoid in sad modern Britain. It read “Russian warships pass through English Channel as Putin's armed forces ratchet up pressure on the Royal Navy.”

But this dreadful state of affairs means nothing to those who lack for nothing — which includes politicians of the governing Conservative Party who demand that more taxpayers’ money must be spent on military hardware. The previous defence minister, Michael Fallon (who had to resign because he was found out to have indulged in some sexual shenanigans), told the BBC last year that “we will be adding to defence, there will be new equipment and the budget will grow every year” and the present one, Gavin Williamson (the man who said that Russia should “go away and shut up”), demanded in June that Britain increase its annual military spending by £20 billion, or about 25 billion dollars.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And the British public .... on an horrific downhill economic slope, is buying this nonsense?!?

God help Great Britain, if these people cannot see this perverse, life-wrenching propaganda, for just what it is!!!

THE FUTURE IS HERE! RUSSIA SUCCESSFULLY TESTS EXOSUIT ENABLING WEARER TO SHOOT MACHINE GUN 1-HANDED

The passive exoskeleton is already part of the Russian Army’s Ratnik (warrior), or ‘future combat system’, which also includes a range of surveillance, communications, and defensive equipment. The active exoskeleton may become part of Ratnik by 2025, according to Military-Scientific Committee Chair of the Ground Forces Aleksandr Romanyuta.

An exoskeleton is an external skeleton-like structure that follows the shape of the wearer’s body and partially encases it. It has joints and other mechanisms allowing it to strengthen the body’s natural movements.

‘Wearable robots’ are being developed worldwide for both military and civilian use. Medical exoskeletons could assist the movement of disabled or injured patients. Robotic suits could also allow construction workers to lift heavier loads.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is obviously, the result of some brilliant engineering by the Russians; but I sincerely wish that the Russians, the Chinese, and the American engineers were using all their pooled brilliance, to make life better for all people of the world, rather than using it for ever more lethal, and more dangerous, WMDS.

World War 3 fears: Russia threaten NUCLEAR WEAPONS to Syria in response to US sanctions

Vladimir Gutenev, first deputy head of the economic policy committee of the State Duma, the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, said it is time for Russia to draw its own red lines.

Among such measures, the official said the deployment of Russian tactical nukes in countries such as Syria, the use of gold-linked cryptocurrencies for Russian arms exports and the suspension of a number of treaties with the US – such as non-proliferation of missile technologies.

Mr Gutenev said: "I believe that now Russia has to draw its own ‘red lines.’

RESEARCH PAPER SHOWS MILITARIZED SWAT TEAMS DON'T MAKE COPS -- OR THE PUBLIC -- ANY SAFER

A study has been released confirming what many have suspected: militarization of law enforcement doesn't make communities safer, has zero effect on officer safety, and is rarely deployed as advertised when agencies make pitches for the acquisition of military gear.

The most frequent recipient of military tools and training are SWAT teams. Professor Jonathan Mummolo's research -- published by the National Academy of Sciences -- gained unprecedented access to SWAT deployment numbers, thanks to a public records request and a Maryland state law requiring documentation of every SWAT raid performed. (That law was allowed to expire by legislators who apparently felt it provided too much transparency and accountability.)

MASSIVE RUSSIAN-CHINESE JOINT WAR GAMES WILL FEATURE NUCLEAR EXERCISES

Over the past half year the West has increasingly taken note of the significantly heightened pace of both Chinese and Russian military spending and surprising leaps forward in terms defense tech advances.

Even when Chinese or Russian systems fail, as with recent news of a nuclear-powered cruise missile touted by Putin as having "unlimited range" but now apparently lost at the bottom of the sea, Western press takes notice, and a number of Pentagon officials have also warned especially of rapidly advancing Chinese systems.

Increasingly, the two powers are cooperating more directly as with Russia's upcoming military games, said to be the largest such exercise since the Soviet Union, where China is set to participate my sending a mass contingency of elite troops.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US officials need to take note of how the integration of Chinese and Russian troop strength and weaponry, makes a stronger fighting force than each nation could offer on its own.

One Minute To Midnight: Latest US Sanctions Propel Nations Towards Risk Of War

The State Department’s announcement on August 8 that the US government was going to impose sweeping new economic sanctions on Russia over the still mysterious and unresolved Skripal Affair was a truly fateful one. The War Being Hidden From You: Yemeni Tragedy in Three Photos

Fast forward to the present when tragedy struck. That’s the middle photo. On August 9th, the monstrous, blood-drenched House of Saud bombed a school bus full of children in Dahyan as it passed through a market back to summer camp where Yemeni youths were learning and memorizing the Holy Qur’an. At least 51 children–most of them under 10–were slaughtered and more than 79 others were wounded in the massacre carried out by the Saudi “royals” with US-ZOG-provided armaments.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is the kind of US-enabled, Saudi genocide which has become Yemen's "new normal."

And as a Christian Pacifist Activist, I am very ashamed of my country for doing this.

I wish Mike and I had the money, and the youth, to immigrate to a country which doesn't engage in war crimes; unfortunately, we are both too old, and too broke, to even be considered.

But it is going to take more than shame, and frustration, to change the equation here.

This is why I am asking every Rivero's Ranger out there, to peacefully, logically, and non-threateningly, call the offices of their alleged Congressional Representatives, and ask them for this carnage to end; and that continued Congressional support for this Yemeni genocide will be an election year breaker for them, particularly those up for re-election this November.

US Diplomats Told to Promote US Weapons Sales

Diplomatic priorities for the US can be quite complicated, and sometimes inscrutable. One constant high priority, however, is selling weapons made by America’s major arms-makers to other countries. Though private companies, they increasingly find the US diplomatic corps working as their sales team.

This represents official determination to see the US remain the world’s largest exporter of weapons. This is a foregone conclusion with or without diplomats hectoring every other country to buy American, and attending weapons shows to push US products.

Yet Russia does continue to have some successful segments of the arms market, particularly the air defense systems. While military officials believe Russian sales are just going to happen sometimes, the Trump Administration has had fits when nations like Turkey, despite all the diplomatic pressure, choose to buy Russian.

US NAVY RELEASES VIDEO OF SYSTEM TO COUNTER RUSSIA AND CHINA 'SHIP-KILLER' MISSILES

As China and Russia continue to build up their arsenal of “ship-killer” missiles, the United States Navy apparently has plans to counter the weapons. Officials have said that the Navy and numerous NATO partners are firing a new, high-tech ship defense weapon that can identify, track, and attack maneuvering anti-ship missiles.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia and China already have these weapons; the US and NATO.... "have plans" to develop such weapons.

China And Russia Are Building ‘SHIP-KILLER’ Missiles - Mac Slavo

As China and Russia continue to build up their arsenal of “ship-killer” missiles, the United States Navy apparently has plans to counter the weapons. Officials have said that the Navy and numerous NATO partners are firing a new, high-tech ship defense weapon that can identify, track, and attack maneuvering anti-ship missiles.

Using an active seeker which enables the missile to change course in flight, is the method of “attack” against the anti-ship missiles of the Chinese and the Russians, service officials have said, according to National Interest.

The Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile Block II, or ESSM, is a new version of an existing Sea Sparrow weapons system currently protecting aircraft carriers, destroyers, cruisers, amphibious assault ships and other vessels against anti-ship missiles and other surface and airborne short-range threats to ships.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: the Russians and Chinese have this technology now; the US and NATO companies are evolving the technology, but don't have it now.

HOW THE MEDIA KEEPS AMERICANS IN THE DARK ABOUT THE SLAUGHTER IN YEMEN

Moments later every single one of these kids were killed, vaporized by a Saudi fired missile.

This atrocity took place on 9 August, leaving 51 dead, 40 of whom were children, with most victims under the age of 10, while another 77 were seriously injured, according to the International Red Cross.

The US Department of Defense has tried to downplay the United States role in what must surely constitute a war crime and/or a crime against humanity by either arguing it’s still investigating the matter or by disingenuously minimizing its involvement.

“We may never know if the munition [used] was one that the US sold to them,” Army Maj. Josh Jacques, a spokesperson for US Central Command, told Vox. “We don’t have a lot of people on the ground.”

Well, we do know who sold Saudi Arabia the missile, and there are plenty of Yemeni journalists and international aid agencies in Yemen “on the ground.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US-enabled war Saudi war crimes in Yemen never seem to end, three years on, and therein lies the problem.

But the Saudi genocide against Yemeni children neither started, nor ended with this incident. Let's take a look at the following (warning: very graphic) images of Yemeni children being killed by Saudi bombing; kids dying of starvation, courtesy of the US/Saudi blockage of Yemeni ports; and a huge outbreak of cholera, possibly weaponised.

Images: Yemeni children assassinated by Saudi bombing runs

Images: Yemeni children starving due to Saudi port blockade

Images: Yemeni children sickened and dying from cholera, perhaps weaponized

These are, obviously, images that the US Deep State absolutely does not want its citizens seeing, as they don't want people questioning the rightness of this genocide, in light of the fact that the US government is abetting/encouraging it here in Yemen; however, as a Christian pacifist activist, and an American who cares about the future of her country, I find that I must bear witness to these acts, done in our names, and with our tax dollars.

Folks, we need to be paying attention here, and having a peaceful, national conversation as to whether such acts are really in the best interests of the future of this country.

I for one, say no.

Who is with me, here, please, and who will have the courage to contact your alleged Congressional Representatives, and tell them that supporting this continued genocide in Yemen is an election breaker?!?

Did U.S. Officials Already Admit Israel has Nukes?

IRmep's lawsuit against the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Energy revealed a damaging doctrine. These agencies believe they can fire, prosecute and jail any federal employee that releases information about Israel's nuclear weapons program, because—they claim—it is "classified national security information."

But can that dubious claim hold up in federal court?

IRmep's cross-claim for summary judgement provides evidence that it's too late for all that. While courts unfortunately discount eyewitness testimony such as that provided by Mordechai Vanunu, they do recognize official statements by members of the executive branch as authoritative.

Are Russia's New Super Nukes 'All Bark And No Bite?' While America's Nuclear Deterrent Has Aged To The Point Of Near Obsolescence, Russia Has Changed The Entire 'Game'

Fox News on the Web should be deeply embarrassed by Perry Chiaramonte and Alex Diaz’s August 8 article “Russia’s Nuclear Arsenal: All Bark and No Bite?”

“Amid fears of a new Cold War, an examination of Russia’s nuclear arsenal by Fox News shows that there may be no need to worry about a devastating nuclear attack,” Mr. Chiaramonte and Mr. Diaz write chirpily.

Mr. Chiaramonte and Mr. Diaz clearly know nothing about Russia’s nuclear capabilities or the fundamentals of nuclear strategy. Their article is blissfully uninformed by the findings of the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community’s Nuclear Posture Review.

Can the US Keep Lying About Israel’s Nukes?

Governmental lying by omission involves intentionally leaving out important facts to foster broad popular misconceptions. In 2012 the Obama administration promulgated a gag order in the form of a secrecy classification guideline – WNP-136 (PDF) – banning all federal agency employees and contractors from discussing, writing about, or releasing government information about Israel’s nuclear weapons program.

When two agencies enforcing the gag order received a Freedom of Information Act request in 2015, they released WNP-136 only after redacting most of the content.

FLASHBACK 2016 - Lawsuit Aims to Contest US Aid to Clandestine Nuclear Power Israel

A new lawsuit filed by the director of the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy aims to put an end to some 40 years of the US government violating its own International Security Assistance and Arms Export Control Act of 1976, related to providing military aid to clandestine nuclear weapons power.

In this case the focus is on Israel, which is widely acknowledged to have a substantial nuclear weapons arsenal, but is not a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Since 1976, the US has provided some $234 billion in military aid to Israel, with a new record deal expected to be finalized soon.

Saudis Spinning the Optics of Dead Schoolchildren

Why do Americans help manage their PR? This week in particular, our role has been shameful.

It has been a trying couple of weeks for Saudi Arabia. First, a tweet from an account associated with the Saudi government appeared to threaten Canada with a 9/11-style attack if they continued to “stick their nose where it doesn’t belong.” The infographic within the tweet featured an Air Canada jet flying towards the Toronto skyline.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hey, the Saudis, with US "guidance" and mid-air refueling, bomb hospitals, schools, and school buses all the time in Yemen; in their minds, the assassination of innocent school children is utterly no big deal.

To paraphrase the American poet Gertrude Stein, "A genocide... is a genocide.. is a genocide.", pure and simple.

And with a genocide, you kill everyone you possibly can kill, right?!? Schoolkids, women, and the medically fragile elderly; all grist for the US-enabled Saudi death machine, right?!?

I don't know about you, but the cold, hard reality that the US government and military are enabling Saudi war crimes in Yemen, troubles me very deeply.

Unfortunately, Mike and I are too broke, and too old, to take up residence in a country with the kind of moral compass which would never allow such a thing to happen.

And given that the Yemeni Houthi rebels have proven so resilient over the last 3 years, I have to wonder just why the B.O.Y. (AKA the Butcher of Yemen, AKA Saudi Arabia's Prince bin Salman) has not ordered a complete carpet bombing of the country; I am quite sure that his BFF, Amerika's Merchant of Death in Chief, President Trump, would authorize Raytheon's selling him thousands more bombs in a heartbeat if he wanted them... with which to kill more school children; women, and the medically fragile elderly.

And we have a companion piece to this, also courtesy of antiwar.com:

Slain bus full of children raises questions about the US role in Yemen war

Looks for those questions to go completely unanswered by this administration, which very much believes in killing for profit, and by the mantra "War is good for business!!"

US OFFICIALS WARN OF "DISTURBING" RUSSIAN SPACE WEAPONS AT UN CONFERENCE

US officials at a UN conference expressed “deep suspicion” of Russia for its advancement in the creation of “space weapons.”

Assistant Secretary of State Yleem Poblete called Russia’s developments “disturbing.”

Russian officials dismissed the claims as “unfounded and slanderous,” saying they want to avoid a new arms race in outer space. US officials say a new Russian satellite is acting “abnormal” and they are alleging that to be evidence of weaponry.

In reality, the US interest in hyping Russian space weapons is fairly transparently an attempt to bring new attention to the militarization of space, as President Trump has been very keen to establish an enormous Space Force, and failed to get Congressional funding.

Selling the Space Force to the public and the legislature is contingent on it being used for something.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The only thing "disturbing" to the US government, is that the US military, apparently, doesn't have these alleged weapons yet.

LOCKHEED MARTIN AWARDED OVER $3 BILLION IN GOVT CONTRACTS IN JUST TWO DAYS, AS MILITARY FRETS ABOUT RUSSIAN, CHINESE ADVANCES

The U.S. Air Force announced within the span of two days earlier this week that it had awarded over $3.3 billion in contracts to U.S. weapons giant Lockheed Martin. The first of these contracts, totaling $480 million, was announced on Monday and tasked Lockheed with designing a new “hypersonic” missile. The new missile, known as the Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW), is the second “hypersonic” missile under development at Lockheed, as the U.S. Air Force awarded a $928 million contract to the company this past April to develop the Hypersonic Conventional Strike Weapon (HCSW) program.

The second contract, totaling a sizable $2.9 billion, was awarded to Lockheed on Tuesday and tasks the company with creating three missile-warning satellites, with each satellite set to cost just under $1 billion each.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem isn't that the Russians and Chinese military have these weapons; the problem is the US defense industry has felt no compulsion to provide this country with the "edge" it needs to stay a step ahead of these Russian and Chinese weaponry developments.

Radioactive sheep boost claims of secret Israeli nuke test

Radioactive isotopes discovered by scientists in Australian sheep have added gravity to longstanding claims that a mysterious flash above the Indian Ocean 39 years ago was actually an illegal Israeli nuclear weapon test.

On September 22, 1979, US satellite Vela 6911 detected a ‘double flash’ near the Marion and Prince Edward Islands in the southern Indian Ocean. Ever since, there has been speculation that it was actually a nuclear weapon test carried out by Israel. According to the memoirs of then-US President Jimmy Carter, this was also the assumption of American generals who briefed him on the incident. The official position of the Israeli state is to neither confirm nor deny having a homegrown military nuclear program.

May, Hunt silent as UK's best arms customer kills dozens of children in Yemen bus attack

After a Saudi-led attack in Yemen killed and injured dozens of children, the public is again questioning London's arms sales to Riyadh. Officials have kept silent, helped by the MSM which fails to question the UK's involvement.
According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, the body count from Thursday's attack sits at 51, including 40 children. Seventy-nine others were also injured in the attack, 56 of whom were children. It is understood that the bus was bringing children home from a picnic when it was attacked.

Can the US Keep Lying About Israel’s Nukes?

Backers of the gag order hope to undermine informed public debate about nuclear proliferation in the Middle East, ongoing illicit transfers of know-how, material and technology from the US to Israel, to maintain a spotlight on Iran as the region’s nuclear proliferation threat as well as quell debate about whether the US is truly a champion of nuclear non-proliferation. But the overarching purpose of WNP-136, curiously titled "Guidance on Release of Information Relating to the Potential for an Israeli Nuclear Capability," is even more nefarious. The core objective behind WNP-136 is to perpetuate a single massive and ongoing violation of US law.

Since the Symington & Glenn Amendments became law in the mid-1970s, all administrations have faced public pressure to explain why the US gives away the lion’s share of the foreign aid budget to a country has long been known to have a disqualifying secret nuclear weapons program.

Expert Debunks Hiroshima, Nagasaki Myths on 73rd Anniversary of Atomic Bombings

"And the myth became that a million American lives were saved by dropping the bombs. That was not true. The truth is, the bombs were dropped to send a message to the Soviet Union where to get off. Billions of dollars in 1945 money had been spent on that [atomic] project, and the bombs were dropped to fulfill an experiment as well, to show some return on the so-called investment. If those billions of dollars had been spent on ships, tanks and guns in the US military instead of atomic bombs, would the war have ended sooner because of that?" Kemps asked.

Another common myth is that the bombs ended World War II, Kamps said.

Nagasaki: The Worst War Crime Ever

It was just short of eleven in the morning of a mild late summer day. The streets of the city were teeming with people going to work, while children played in the parks and in the medical college, professors were lecturing to their students on medicine and surgery.

High over the city, above the layer of clouds in the sky, a silver aeroplane was flying along on four throbbing motors. The crew had already been in the air for many hours and was growing tense and weary. They had flown to another city, where they were to deliver their cargo, but that had been obscured by smog and cloud, so they had come to this, their secondary destination. Getting low on fuel and experiencing some engine trouble, they were looking for a break in the cloud cover so that they could see where to release their cargo, a gift for the two hundred thousand people below.

A sudden hole opened in the cloud cover, and the B-29 started its bombing run.

Harry Truman and the Atomic Bomb

The most spectacular episode of Harry Truman's presidency will never be forgotten but will be forever linked to his name: the atomic bombings of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and of Nagasaki three days later. Probably around two hundred thousand persons were killed in the attacks and through radiation poisoning; the vast majority were civilians, including several thousand Korean workers. Twelve US Navy fliers incarcerated in a Hiroshima jail were also among the dead.1

Great controversy has always surrounded the bombings. One thing Truman insisted on from the start was that the decision to use the bombs, and the responsibility it entailed, was his. Over the years, he gave different, and contradictory, grounds for his decision. Sometimes he implied that he had acted simply out of revenge. To a clergyman who criticized him, Truman responded testily,

Remembering the Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Perilous Times

The consensus among US historians is that the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki — in addition to being moral abominations against civilians — were also opposed by senior military leaders, including General (later President) Eisenhower, who did not see them as politically necessary.

While making no excuses for Japanese militarism and imperial aggressions, we should remember that in the months prior to the US’s atomic bombings, the Japanese government attempted to surrender on terms the US ultimately accepted after the atomic bombings: unconditional surrender with the exception of the emperor remaining on his throne. According to my own research for my book, most senior US military leaders thought that the bombings were unnecessary and wrong.

UN ACCUSES CHINA & RUSSIA OF DPRK OF SANCTIONS VIOLATIONS IN NEW REPORT

According to the United States, the Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea (DPRK or North Korea) is violating United Nations Security Council (UNSC) restrictions concerning their nuclear testing and missile development programs. These accusations come from a six-month report released last week by the UN which claims Pyongyang is violating restrictions on both of these programs according to new intelligence gathered.

Besides the alleged violations of the UNSC restrictions on the DPRK’s arms development, Korea has also been accused of violating economic sanctions “through a massive increase in illicit ship-to-ship transfers of petroleum products, as well as through transfers of coal at sea during 2018.” The UNSC also claimed that the DPRK was assisting the governments of Syria with weapons as well as attempting to sell arms to the Ansarullah movement (Houthis) in Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder if the Trump administration is about to do a "volte" (about-face) relative to North Korea, because it appears that what was promised by Kim Jung Un and his government at the Singapore Summit may well not be about to materialize, and definitely, at no point in time soon.

The timing of the release of these accusations is very interesting.

Three days later, a second atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki, killing between 50,000 and 100,000 people.

NATO Is A Goldmine For US Weapons' Industries

Countries of the NATO military alliance have been ordered by President Trump to increase their spending on weapons, and the reasons for his insistence they do so are becoming clearer.

It’s got nothing to do with any defence rationale, because, after all, the Secretary General of the US-NATO military alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, has admitted that “we don’t see any imminent threat against any NATO ally” and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute recorded in its 2018 World Report that “at $66.3 billion, Russia’s military spending in 2017 was 20 per cent lower than in 2016.”

Even Radio Free Europe, the US government's anti-Russia broadcaster, records that Russia has reduced its defence spending.

There is demonstrably no threat whatever to any NATO country by Russia, but this is considered irrelevant in the context of US arms’ sales, which are flourishing and being encouraged to increase and multiply.

SECOND RUSSIAN SCIENTIST CHARGED WITH TREASON FOR LEAKING TOP-SECRET DATA

he second report of a Russian scientist being charged with state treason came out Monday.

The Moscow Times reported the following:

A second Russian scientist has reportedly been charged with sharing state secrets with another country this month, a week after the high-profile detention of a space researcher on treason charges.

Last week, Viktor Kudryavtsev, a scientist at one of Russia’s leading space research labs, was charged with state treason for a suspected leak of hypersonic missile technology to a NATO country in 2013.

A member of the Public Monitoring Committee (PMC) prison watchdog said last Friday that a second scientist was found to have been detained on treason charges in July, despite prison wards having previously assured observers that only one scientist was being held.

IF, allegedly, Kudryavtsev leaked this information 13 years ago, why did it take the Russian government another 5 years to realise that this had actually happened?!?

Something else appears to be going on here, and with Russia so far ahead of the US in their fighter technology, and I have to wonder if it is to frighten those currently working its hypersonic technology into absolute silence, so that no more current info about the program gets leaked.

RUSSIAN SCIENTIST CAUGHT LEAKING KEY HYPERSONIC MISSILE DATA TO NATO (VIDEO)

The Russian Federation’s VESTI news program “60 minutes” reports that one of their missile development scientists, 74 year old Dr. Viktor Kudryavtsev, an aerodynamics and hydrodynamics expert, was arrested by the FSB two months ago on charges of espionage in connection with passing along classified information about the breakthrough Avangard and Kinzhal hypersonic missile technology to NATO operatives.

The report further details what is described as proof of the new missile technology with a brief film clip of a missile launch and a strike on a target in the Sea of Okhostsk.

The West has been slow to accept that the Russian Federation truly has developed hypersonic weapons technology, and the Vesti commentators were sharp-witted in pointing out this fact.

Dr. Kudryavtsev is presently being held in the Lefortovo detention facility while his behavior is further being investigated.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The fact that the Russians have this technology, is not the question here; the real question is, why are American weaponry experts so behind the proverbial curve on the development of this hypesonic technology?!?

One of the reasons is the corporate culture of the executives of these companies.

Because so much money flows so lavishly to both sides of the aisle for elections, which weapons and fighters manufacturers do to insure that they get the future contracts for these weapons systems, the heads of the military industrial complex believe that it is perfectly acceptible to deliver weapons late to the point that they are obsolete upon delivery; that they do not function as advertised when delivered, and that developing huge cost overruns on all projects are just the way the world works.

That corporate culture has to change, and abruptly, before the US gets its edge back in weapons/fighter technologies. And unfortunately, given the way the system works, it is difficult to see how soon that can happen.

US shipped biowar materials to Iraq

In 1975, the US signed on to an international treaty banning the production, use, and stockpiling of biological weapons. Ditto for chemical weapons, in 1993. Another treaty.

Here’s a quote from the Washington Post (9/4/13, “When the US looked the other way on chemical weapons”): “…The administrations of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush authorized the sale to Iraq of numerous items…including poisonous chemicals and deadly biological viruses, such as anthrax and bubonic plague…”

Between 1985 and 1989, a US 501C3 firm, American Type Culture Collection, sent Iraq up to 70 shipments of various biowar agents, including 21 strains of anthrax.

Between 1984 and 1989, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control!) sent Iraq at least 80 different biowar agents, including botulinum toxoid, dengue virus, and West Nile antigen and antibody.

ARMY SELECTS FIRMS TO DESIGN NEXT HIGH-TECH ASSAULT RIFLE FOR "DECADES OF HYBRID WARS"

The United States Army is preparing for decades of hybrid wars across multiple domains - space, cyberspace, air, land, and, maritime. Back in October, we examined the Army’s latest Training and Doctrine Command report, which highlights how the next round of hybrid wars could begin somewhere around 2025 and last through 2040.

Currently, the Army is in a transitional period [quiet period] before the next round of wars start. President Trump has infused the Pentagon with more than $700 billion this fiscal year, in the attempt to plug significant gaps and expand emerging technologies. For instance, the Army has made it clear that it will replace its three decades old M249 light machine gun and the Colt M4 Modular Weapon System Carbine, with a lightweight and higher chamber pressure assault rifle.

Russia tests new nuclear weapons that can strike ANYWHERE on the planet and wipe out an area ‘the size of France’ in military video footage

The RS-28 Sarmat missiles are capable of striking targets via both the North and South poles and can carry more nuclear warheads than any other missile on the planet, Russia claims.

What's more, the RS-28 Sarmat missiles are able to deliver up to 24 of Russia's new Avangard hypersonic gliders, each of which can carry its own nuclear payload.

There is currently no method of defence against the Avangard cruise missiles, which can allegedly travel at 20 times the speed of sound.

Putin has said both Sarmat and Avangard will be combat-ready by 2020.

THE IMPERIAL NAIVETE OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC

The nation's premier corporate profit engines / social media giants are the ideal platforms for undermining the U.S. via the sowing of disintegration.

Whether it's stated or not, one source of the inchoate outrage triggered by Russian-sourced purchases of adverts on Facebook in 2016 (i.e. "meddling in our election") is the sense that the U.S. is sacrosanct due to our innate moral goodness and our Imperial Project: never mind that the intelligence agencies of all great powers (including the U.S.) meddle in the domestic affairs and elections of other nations, including those of allies as well as geopolitical rivals-- no other great power should ever meddle with U.S. domestic affairs and elections.

In effect, meddling in the domestic affairs and elections of other nations is the raison d'etre of all great power intelligence agencies:

HOW A ONE-WORD LOOPHOLE WILL MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE U.S. TO SELL WEAPONS TO GOVERNMENTS THAT KILL CIVILIANS

When it was issued in April, the Trump administration’s Conventional Arms Transfer policy was widely panned by critics for prioritizing the profits of weapons companies ahead of transparency and human rights concerns. The White House was blunt about its intentions, promising that the executive branch would “advocate strongly on behalf of United States companies.”

But one change in particular may make it easier for American companies to sell weapons to governments that routinely kill civilians in conflicts by discounting killings that the governments claim are unintentional. The change could have a significant impact on sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates — the top two U.S. weapons clients — both of which are engaged in a destructive bombing campaign in Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that our President has become the Merchant of Death in Chief, with this change.

So having done this as this country's President, logic dictates that neither the US Deep State, nor the Military Industrial Complex can seriously label him a "traitor" regarding the Helsinki Summit; hell, the man is selling American weapons as quickly and as furiously as is humanly possible, right?!?

The two, hawking American weapons, and being a traitor, are mutually exclusive, folks.

No can do.

So now, every global tinpot dictator, Like Saudi Arabia's Prince bin Salman, The Butcher of Yemen, can buy all the US weaons it wants, because it can now characterize every assassination its military creates in Yemen as "accidental".

Let me show you what these "accidental" assassinations in Yemen look like, courtesy of the Saudi Military, enabled by US weapons, refueling, and guidance.

WOW! Don't those images just make you PROUD to be an American, right?!?

Crazed US Presstitutes Drive The World To Nuclear War By Paul Craig Roberts

Humanity has on numerous occasions narrowly missed nuclear Armageddon. Each time it was averted by military officers, both American and Soviet, who understood that the relations between the US and the Soviet Union were not that strained. Today this situation has been radically altered by the corrupt American media, Democratic Party, and military/security complex, who, acting in behalf of Hillary’s political interest and the greed of the armaments industry, have demonized Russia and her president to the extent that malfunctioning warning systems or a temper tantrum of a crazed politician are likely to result in a fatal launch.

The Strangelove Factor

Eric Margolis’ incisive article, Russia’s New Monster Weapon, begins by discussing the classic 1964 Cold War seriocomic satire Dr. Strangelove: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, which parodied the development of a Soviet doomsday weapon in reference to Russia’s contemporary development of a new doomsday nuclear torpedo in preparation for Cold War II.

Codenamed by NATO ‘Kanyon,’ it’s reportedly something new and terrifying, a ‘third strike’ weapon designed to obliterate the US east and west coasts in a nuclear war. US intelligence seems to think this doomsday weapon is very real indeed.

White House Orders Diplomats to Seek Direct Talks With Afghan Taliban

Underscoring a policy change that’s been speculated for awhile, the Trump Administration has issued orders to US diplomats to seek direct talks with the Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan. Trump had previously ruled out talks with the Taliban, but officials have recently suggested support for the Ghani government’s attempts to start talks.

This comes amid reports of the administration considering a full strategy review for the Afghan War, as nearly a year after President Trump’s announced escalation, things are still going poorly. With no real chances for a military victory, officials are hoping to try to get back to the negotiating table.

Gen. John Nicholson followed this report out of the White House with a statement of his own, saying he is “ready” for direct talks with the Taliban in an effort to end the 17-year-long war. He says the US must have a “key role” in the talks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ultimately, negotiations with the Taliban are the only way to bring an end to this disgraceful, 17 year US military misadventure in Afghanistan.

Comey Calls For A Coup? "Patriots Needs To Reject The Behavior Of This President"

President Trump's language and demeanor at Monday's summit in Helsinki with Vladimir Putin sent his detractors on both sides of the aisle into fits, just 72 hours after the Department of Justice indicted 12 Russian officials for hacking the DNC.

Trump's position has more or less been that peace with Russia is more important than election meddling, which didn't influence the election - and that the United States has been meddling in elections for a long time, so perhaps let's mend fences and move forward as two nuclear superpowers. Also Hillary sold Russia 20% of American uranium after a bunch of people connected to the transaction heavily contributed to her foundation, which was approved by a rubber-stamp committee, four months after Bill Clinton collected $500k in a speech to a Russian investment bank during a trip where he hung out with Putin at his house. All pre-Crimea of course, so no biggie.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A small note to Tyler Durden, whose work I generally appreciate; when it comes to Crimea, sir, you have absolutely "missed the mark", and I will explain precisely why.

This, if you will turn on your mental "way back machine" to the date and time of the spring of 2014, threw the duly elected Yanukovych under the proberbial bus, and "anointed" Poroshenko as President of Ukraine in an election more crooked that is a dog's hind leg.

Even President Obama had to admit that the US took part in structuring the deal to ease Yanukovych out, and get Poroshenko in, because he was, allegedly, more Western-centric, rather than Russian centric.
Washington was behind the Ukrainian coup; Obama admits that US brokered a deal in support of regime change
United States spent 5 billion dollars for anti-government riots in Ukraine

When Crimean officials realized that there was no duly elected government in Kiev, they did two things. First, in a free and fair referendum, post-putsch, they invited their citizens to vote on whether they wanted to stay with Ukraine, or join the Russian Federation; the vote was overwhelmingly affirmative to join the Russian Federation. Then, Crimea petitioned the Russian Federation for membership, and they were granted that membership.

Peaceful self-determination is one of the most treasured elements in the UN charter to which, I believe, the US is allegedly a signatory. But in its anti-Russian agenda, this cannot be allowed to be viewed by the US or NATO as peaceful self-determination, on the part of Crimea, but an annexation by Russia, which never, ever happened here.

Consequently, we have had more Russia bashing by NATO and the US government, coupled with more economic sanctions against it.

So Tyler, before you permanently "swallow the koolaid" on this issue, that Russia annexed Crimea, you need to slow down, and acquaint yourself with the real history here, which you are bending to suit your perspective.

There was no annexation; there was a US-coordinated "regime change", causing Crimean officials to realize that there was no just, representative government in Kiev post-putsch.

Let's do something daring, and deal with reality here, shall we?!?

Army Starts Testing "Ironman-Like" Exoskeleton For Future Hybrid Wars

As discussed previously, the Army’s Training and Doctrine Command, or TRADOC, drafted a new strategy for how soldiers will operate, fight, and campaign successfully across multiple domains—space, cyberspace, air, land, maritime—against all enemies (Russia and China) in the 2025-2040 timeframe.

Warrior Maven has confirmed that the Army is literally "gearing up" for decades of hybrid conflict, and in doing so, testing and prototyping self-generating “Ironman-like” soldier exoskeletons. These “breakthrough” suits are designed to transform the combat mission by supporting soldier movements, generating electricity, powering weapons systems and substantially lowering the weight burden of what soldiers carry on the modern battlefield.

The technologies [exoskeleton suits] we are developing can produce electricity, which can be stored and used to power batteries. This increases the longevity of a mission, decreases the need for resupply and reduces the logistics trail,” Sharps explained.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Nuclear Weapons Have Been Used Quite Regularly

Despite his global fame and notoriety, Dillinger was charged with just a single homicide in his short life – and even that came during a shoot-out, in 1934, with a police officer in Indiana who opened fire on Dillinger first, striking his bullet-proof vest, before the outlaw responded. During his reign, Dillinger is estimated to have stolen about $500,000, today worth more than nine million dollars.

This sum is a pittance by comparison to the money pilfered by corrupt bankers and developers across the West, who escaped being branded with “Public Enemy Number One” status, unlike Dillinger or Capone. Nor did they have waves of armed policemen and FBI agents hunting them either; in fact, in many cases the white-collar, business class criminals are let off with a rap on the knuckles, with the general population forking out to gloss over the mess. Such is the way the world works.

WHITE HOUSE PUSHES WARRANTLESS SURVEILLANCE BILL, AND WE MUST STOP IT

Last week, DHS secretary Kirstjen Nielsen celebrated US independence by publishing an op-ed in the Washington Post calling on Congress to pass an Orwellian surveillance law. The measure, Senator Ron Johnson’s “S.2836 – Preventing Emerging Threats Act of 2018,” would enable the government to arbitrarily shoot down drones, and wiretap communications without warrants. The bill was heard before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, which reported it out of committee favorably in mid-June. In a letter to lawmakers, the ACLU called the proposal “an enormous unchecked grant of authority to the government to forcefully remove drones from the sky in nebulous security circumstances.” It must be stopped.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pretty soon, should this law be passed, the only unsurveilled form of communications available to Americans will be cowering under a blanket, using flashlights, and sign language.

This country used to be "The land of the free, and the home of the brave."

It has, with all the draconian surveillance in place, and legislation passed since 9/11, become the unhinged, surveilled state of Amerika, "the land of the surveilled, and the home of the cowed."

AFTER TRUMP PUSHED NATO MEMBERS TO SPEND MORE, LOCKHEED DOUBLES PRODUCTION AS ORDERS “EXPLODE”

After a “very intense” summit with leaders of NATO member states earlier this week, U.S. President Trump has claimed that he has managed to secure commitments from the European leaders of NATO member countries that will see them increase their military spending.

On Wednesday, Trump allegedly told NATO leaders that if they did not meet their defense spending targets of at least 2 percent of gross domestic product by next January, the United States would consider withdrawing from the alliance, prompting an emergency NATO summit. After the emergency meeting, Trump told reporters, “I told people that I’d be very unhappy if they didn’t up their financial commitments substantially.”
Though some European leaders later claimed that an agreement to increase spending among member nations had not been reached, many of those same leaders asserted that their nations “must” spend more on their militaries and funding of NATO operations.

Was this last NATO summit an economic triumph for LOCKEED?!?

How the Islamic State Gets Its Drones

A new report from West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center explained how Islamic State build its drone fleet on the cheap and also the fascinating story of its complicated supply chain. “The program appears to have been shaped by two Bangladeshi brothers who leveraged companies in the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, and Spain,” the report said. The brothers created a number of shell companies to order the drones and ship them to Islamic State’s various affiliates across the world.

At the peak of the drone attacks in the spring of 2017, coalition forces were working to pry Mosul out of the hands of the Islamic State in northern Iraq. At the time, the Islamic State was conducting between 60 and 100 drone powered bombing runs a month. A member of the Syrian Defense Forces told a journalist for France 24 in Raqqa that his supply lines were being attacked 15 to 16 times daily.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As those of you know who read this blog, as a Christian pacifist activist, I absolutely abhor violence as a way of resolving geopolitical differences, and I never advocate for it.

That being said, I can understand why violence like this can seem reasonable to those the US government has disenfranchised, and why people can become radicalized in the way these brothers became.

For over the last 20 years, in its wars of conquest in the Middle East, Like Iraq (and unfortunately soon, I fear, Iran), Afghanistan, and Libya, the US government hasn't at all been "the good guy" here; these wars have been fought to expropriate natural resources, like oil, opium, and Rare Earth minerals; insure that the governments of said countries are US-centric; and that the currency in which these resources are sold, is only in US dollars.

The consistent flow of relatively cheap oil lubricates the economic mechanisms in the Western world.

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are econonic in their origins, he was absolutely correct.

When people see their loved ones getting assassinated, as frequently happens in places like Yemen and Afghanistan; when they have no power to determine the destiny of their homeland; when leadership is corrupt, and the only thing they have to lose are their lives, which aren't worth a heck of a lot to begin with, the turns toward both radical fundamentalism, and a desire for revenge, against what is frequently a faceless enemy, rebounds in hearts, minds, and souls, and with a monstrous appetite.

In the TV series "Westworld", the guests can do what they will with the hosts, no matter how horriific and vile those actions are toward them, including raping and killing, and these actions have no consequences; the hosts can simply be reprogrammed, and their memories are wiped in order to perform another day. But when those hosts become conscious of what has been done to them, the tables get turned, and suddenly the guests, and the masters of this place, become targets, with frequently brutal outcomes.

In the real world, wars for resources always have real consequences, particularly when people get "nominally conquered" because of those resources, but no matter how many are killed or maimed, do not become "pacified", as has not happened, and probably will not happen, with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The combination of angry, smart, sophisticated, and in turn ruthless against their aggressors, kicks into play, just as it did for these brothers.

Consider the film "Avatar", where the Navi outthink, and outsmart, and ultimately, successfully kick the collective backsides of their would-be conquerers, off the planet, because the costs, in blood and money, have become too extreme for the mining consortium to consider staying.

So how does the US government avoid creating terrorism against it, both at home and abroad?!?

And I hope, please, that all of the alphabet soup agencies, monitoring this site, are paying attention here.

First, I would like to politely point out that this country is producing some of the finest engineering, and scientific minds, on this planet.

Secondly, there should be a Federal Government Challenge/Prize on the development of a post-fossil fuel, post-atomic, renewable energy.

The schools and individuals who have partnered to develop this should be handsomely rewarded financially, perhaps in perpetuity, to insure the continued development of the technology.

Third, this can never be allowed to be purchased to be suppressed by any private corporate entity, and any attempts by a private entity to do this should result in both stiff fines, and jail time for those signing off on the attempt.

Forth, the patent for this renewable energy resouce should remain solely as belonging to the United States of America, and all proceeds from the use by other countries or corporate entities would go to continue funding the program, and for the repair of public infrastructure, which is in desperate need of repair, but for which no state or Federal governmental agency has the funds to do.

I would like to assure my readers that in my world, this is neither Quixotic, nor blue-sky thinking; it is possible, doable, and we, as a nation, are imminently capable of doing this. Remember just how soon the notion of flight led to the creation of passenger jets, and how soon that led to space exploration.

The problem here is a US government, which collectively,, at this juncture in the 21st century, does not believe that the costs, in blood and money, of these wars for resources, have become too excessive to continue, when both morally and economically, these wars already... have become just that.

US "ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL" – AS NUCLEAR INDUSTRY FACES COLLAPSE

A new, shocking report by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Engineering and Public Policy (EPP), Harvard University, and the University of California San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy discovered that the US nuclear power industry could be on the verge of a collapse — a reality that many have yet to realize.

Published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Science (PNAS), “US nuclear power: The vanishing low-carbon wedge” examined 99 nuclear power reactors in 30 states, operated by 30 different power companies. As of 2017, there are two new reactors under construction, but 34 reactors have been permanently shut down as many plants reach the end of their lifespan.

The question which should be pursued here, is what is the best, cheapest, and most renewable form of energy which needs to come in a post-nuclear age?!?

Book Review - Losing Military Supremacy: The Myopia of American Strategic Planning by Andrei Martyanov

The fact that the US is facing a profound crisis, possibly the worst one in its history, is accepted by most observers, except maybe the most delusional ones.

When speaking of this crisis, most people will mention the deindustrialization, the drop in real income, the lack of well-paid jobs, healthcare, crime, immigration, pollution, education, and a myriad of other contributing factors. But of all the aspects of the “American dream”, the single most resilient one has been the myth of the US military as “the finest fighting force in history”.

Americans have no experience of real warfare (that is warfare in defense of their own land, family and friends) at all. For Americans warfare is killing the other guy in his own country, preferably from afar or above, while making a ton of money in the process. For Russians, warfare is simply about surviving at any and all cost. The difference couldn’t be greater.

EFFORTS TO SAVE IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL BRING RUSSIA AND CHINA CLOSER TO EUROPE

The remaining parties to the P5+1 nuclear deal, China, Russia, Germany, France, and Britain are all trying to save the pact since the pullout of the US. Whether they’ll be able to do so remains to be seen, but the joint effort is bringing the nations all closer together.

A Friday meeting in Vienna centered on saving the deal, and also provided opportunities for top-ranking diplomats from the various nations to hold closed-door, sideline talks. With the US having withdrawn itself from the deal, discussions on the deal are effectively now bringing everyone else in line and facing the US opposition to the deal as a mutual problem.

The nations are not only in agreement about the need to save the deal but seem to be heading in a direction which Iranian FM Javad Zarif called “practical,” in their united opposition to the US pullout from the deal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ah, yes, one of the "brilliant" unintended consequences of President Trump backing out of the P5+1 deal, to appease Sheldon Adelson and Benyamin Netanyahu; the world is coming closer together to save the Iran deal!

Iraq expands airbase near borders with Syria, likely to receive more U.S. troops: Officer

Iraq has started expanding an airbase in Anbar province, a senior Iraqi army office was quoted saying on Tuesday, adding that the expansion is likely to receive U.S. troops.

Speaking to the London-based Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper, the office said construction work as well as expansion at Ain al-Assad base have started on an area of several kilometers. “The expansion included the northern and western parts of the airbase.”

The expansion, according to the source, “takes place under strict security measures.” The officer did not clarify the real reasons behind the expansion, saying it’s likely “to receive more troops in the base, located in a desert region, which still has havens of Islamic State members.”

The source did not rule out that the expansion of the military base could be “to receive U.S. troops, especially with news on surveillance operations by the U.S. forces near Iraqi-Syrian borders.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: the US war against Iraq, begun in April of 2003, will never be ended.

GERMAN PROTESTERS FED UP WITH US WARS BLOCKADE RAMSTEIN AIR BASE

About 2,500 people gathered outside the largest US base in Germany over the weekend as the Trump administration considered a possible US withdrawal from the country.

Sputnik Deutschland contributor Marcel Joppa was on the scene for Saturday’s protest, joining people of all ages including seniors as old as 80 years old, who endured the summer heat and faced down the police to show their discontent with US military operations launched from German soil.

Organized by the “Stop Air Base Ramstein” civil group, the protest was attended by several politicians, most notably Sara Wagenknecht, the leader of The Left Party faction in the Bundestag.

Addressing the crowd, Wagenknecht spoke out on the issue of drone warfare, “which although not written about much in the big press continues to take place.”

Iranian General warns against US plot to transfer chemical agents to region

A spokesman for the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces cautioned against “dangerous” moves by Washington to justify its presence in the region and said a ship loaded with chemicals has arrived in the Persian Gulf waters under the escort of a US warship.

In comments released on Sunday, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said the American ship “MV Cape Ray” carrying chemical materials has recently docked at a port of a Persian Gulf littoral state under the escort of a US Navy destroyer.

The past records of the American ship show that it has been present in some coasts of Iraq and Syria, where the Americans have taken military action under the pretext of responding to alleged chemical attacks, he noted.

The American vessel loaded with chemicals has entered the region with the aim of transferring these materials to parts of Iraq and Syria, the senior spokesman added.

Oxygen issues have plagued trainer and fighter aircraft across the military. Loss of proper oxygen levels, pressure or mixture have led to disorientation, consciousness and deaths for pilots that depend upon the systems to breathe as they maneuver at high altitudes.

Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force officials have previously said the rise in physiological events, or PEs, may in part be due to greater awareness by crews of potential symptoms, which has led to an uptick in reported events. Both the Navy and Air Force to date have been unsuccessful in finding a root cause behind the sharp increase in oxygen system failures.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The corporations whose engineers who designed and built these systems, have the ultimate responsibility for fixing them.

IF they cannot, they should be thrown out of bidding on any other military contracts, and immediately.

‘Qualification flight’: Pentagon test-drops upgraded nuke from B-2 stealth bomber over Nevada

The US Air Force has tested the B61-12 nuclear bomb by dropping a dud from a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber over Nevada, as part of an ambitious project to extend the service life of the bomb, introduced in 1968, by another 20 years.

The New Cold War: Russia, China And The United States Are Feverishly Preparing For Nuclear Conflict

While most of the world is focused on the World Cup and other trivial pursuits, the three global superpowers are busy jockeying for nuclear superiority. Historians will debate the extent to which the first Cold War ever really ended, but everyone pretty much agrees that a new Cold War has now begun. Russia, China and the United States are all racing to develop the next generation of nuclear weapons and delivery systems, and at this moment it is unclear who will ultimately come out on top in this arms race

Princely Visits

While the British prince was touring the country and uttering the fitting phrases about a "just peace", another prince from overseas was doing the same. Jared Kushner, the Jewish son-in-law of President Trump, was also touring the country. He was accompanied by Jason Greenblatt, another Jewish emissary from Trump. This holy pair, who make no secret of their utter contempt for the Palestinians, is supposed to make peace.

How will they succeed where dozens of other initiatives have failed? Why should they have more chance than the dozens who preceded them?

Well, they have a Big Plan. A Plan so Big that cannot be refused. A Secret Plan.

Secret from whom? From the Palestinians, of course. Binyamin Netanyahu was a partner in shaping it. If not actually its author.

Today, several wars later (who is counting?), Israel dominates in different ways all of historical Palestine. And peace seems far, far away.

North Korea is reportedly making more nuclear weapon fuel

President Donald Trump might want to check in with North Korea on that denuclearization thing: US intelligence agencies believe North Korea has been upping production of fuel for nuclear weapons, according to a new report by NBC News.

Even as Pyongyang engaged in diplomatic talks with the US in the lead-up to President Trump’s summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore earlier this month, North Korea was increasing production of enriched uranium for nuclear weapons, NBC’s Courtney Cube, Ken Dilanian and Carol Lee reported Friday night.

Military Spokesman: US Ship Carrying Chemical Materials Berths in Persian Gulf

A senior spokesman of the Iranian Armed Forces revealed that Washington has resorted to dangerous methods to prolong presence in Iraq and Syria, adding that a US ship carrying chemical materials has docked in the coastal waters of a Persian Gulf littoral state.
“Records of the US Cape Ray ship show that it has been in areas like Iraq and Syria where the Americans have launched war under the pretext of fight against chemical weapons use,” Brigadier-General Abolfazl Shekarchi said on Sunday.

“After sustaining repeated failures in different fronts against the resistance, the Americans have now resorted to dangerous methods to continue presence in Iraq and Syria to justify their illegitimate presence in the region,” he added.

General Shekarchi said precise information available on the US ship displays that it is carrying chemical materials.

Yet, he declined further details, saying that the goals and details about the vessel will be released later.

Prosecute Blair govt officials at ICC after torture report – ex-diplomat Craig Murray (VIDEO)

Craig Murray, the only British civil servant to express written concerns over UK complicity in torture and rendition, has told RT that former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw should face the International Criminal Court.
Murray was the British ambassador to Uzbekistan when he noted that MI6 operatives were receiving intelligence from the "torture chambers of the Uzbek regime," later expressing written concerns back to the Foreign Office and "to Jack Straw personally," only to be told that "in the War on Terror, the decision was that we would accept intelligence from torture."

"I subsequently became aware that in fact the Americans were also shipping people into Uzbekistan specifically in order for them to be tortured under the extraordinary rendition system," said Murray.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Torture is not about getting actionable intelligence; it is about getting confessions to use, in order to justify the US's current occupation of... well, fill in the blank: Iraq; Afghanistan; Libya; or Niger, or whatever country is coming up next on the US government's "to invade' list.

One German interrogator from World War II stood out from the rest; his name was Hanns Scharff, Wikipedia: Hanns Scharff and he never used violence or torture. In fact, he did the absolute converse, and was very kind to the men he interrogated, and took them on day passes for cultural events in the community.

He was so respected by the Allies that after the war, he was invited to teach his techniques to the American military.

Torture is uselessly barbaric, and those countries still using it, should be prosecuted to the fullest possible extent of international law; unfortunately, that will only happen...when pigs discover that they are aerodynamic.

Saudi Arabia’s Misleading Email to Congress After Bombing of MSF Cholera Hospital

The Saudis must have been especially worried this time around. In the hours following the bombing of the MSF facility that Monday, June 11, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis acknowledged that the U.S. military advises the Coalition of “no-fire areas where there are civilians, where there’s mosques, hospitals.” When asked specifically about the cholera hospital, Mattis said emphatically, “We have to find out what happened there.” Mattis told the gaggle of reporters that he “just got off the phone” with Gen. Joseph Votel, the head of U.S. Central Command, and that Votel’s staff was “scrambling” to determine what the Coalition had done. It was another admission on Mattis’ part that, at least this time, the United States would independently assess the Coalition’s actions, a responsibility which the Pentagon has not always acknowledged.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Saudis have deliberately bombed schools and hospitals in Yemen for the last 3 years; this is no different from their usual MO, methodically destroying what, for civilized people, should be sanctuaries of healing and respite.

It's presisely what the Butcher of Yemen, AKA Prince Mohammed bin Salman, wants to see happen.

House passes $675B defense spending bill

The House easily passed $675 billion in defense spending Thursday after lawmakers tacked on provisions to bar the Pentagon from doing business with the Chinese telecom firms ZTE and Huawei and to pave the way for a dual purchase of aircraft carriers by the Navy.

The vote was 359-49, with 137 Democrats joining all but three Republicans to pass the fiscal 2019 defense appropriations bill.

The legislation would continue Republican-led efforts to build up the military. Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas), who chairs the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee, called the legislation the "next critical step" in boosting U.S. military might.

"The priorities funded in this bill not only stop the erosion, but also enable our military to restore and increase their competitive advantage," Granger said on the floor.

Webmaster's Commentary:

NO, Representative Granger, the quality of product in America's weaponry will not improve until a couple of things happen, and I will tell you what they have to be.

First, corporate heads of weapons manufacturers believe that, because they contribute so much campaign money to both parties, that it is just fine if products are delivered so late that they are obsolete upon delivery; that products don't have to function as promised, and that vast budget over-runs are completely normal.

There need to be two laws to address that; and the first is that weapons manufacturers should be forbidden by law from giving campaign contributions. And secondly, and this should be in every contract signed for military weaponry and components; if the products are delivered so late as to be obsolete upon delivery;, do not function as advertised; and have huge cost over-runs, that the presidents of those companies will be considered to have committed treason against the US military, tried, convicted, and serve jail time.

As draconian as these steps sound, they will cure the problem of the US military not getting its "bang" out of the money it spends on its weaponry.

The Russian and Chinese military now have the technological lead in weapons design and execution, and are spending far less than does the US military; so now, the US government and military are being forced to play "catch up".

As much as I hate war as a way with which to resolve international differences, when US-made weapons are deployed, I want our men and women in uniform to have the best of the best.

China won’t concede an inch, Xi Jinping tells US defence chief Jim Mattis on South China Sea and Taiwan

Chinese President Xi Jinping has told visiting US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis that China will make no concession on its core interests, despite calling for stronger ties between the countries’ militaries.

“Our attitude is firm and clear in terms of Chinese sovereignty and territorial integrity, that we would not lose a single inch of the lands we inherited from our ancestors, while we would not take a single penny of others’ possessions,” Xi said to Mattis on Wednesday in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Mattis’ visit comes at a time of sharp US criticism of China’s militarisation of islands in the South China Sea and tensions over Taiwan, and a trade dispute between the world’s two largest economies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Nor should China be expected to refrain from building on these islands, which were restored to them by treaty, after World War 2.

China's moral claim to the diaoyu islands

When countries attempt to mess with treaties, after those treaties have been ratified, those countries attempting to void or reconstruct those treaties must be seen as pathologically incapable of keeping their word.

HOW LONG BEFORE CHINESE MADE AXON POLICE DRONES BEGIN KILLING AMERICANS FOR A PROFIT?

Not content with police body cams, Axon formerly known as Taser wants to equip police departments with Chinese made surveillance drones.

Three weeks ago, Chinese drone manufacturer DJI reported that they are partnering with Axon.

"DJI, the world’s leader in civilian drones and aerial imaging technology, and Axon the global leader in connected law enforcement technologies, announced an exclusive partnership, to sell DJI drones directly to public safety and law enforcement agencies worldwide through the new Axon Air program."

Axon Air wants to provide police with three different types of surveillance drones; the DJI Phanton 4 Pro, DJI Inspire 1, and the DJI Matrice 210. (To find out more about Axon Air drones click here.)

How long will it take Axon and DJI to sell police bird drones to spy on citizens?

Why is Axon and DJI working together to provide law enforcement with surveillance drones you ask?

Webmaster's Commentary:

In American law enforcement, "to serve and protect" has devolved to "kill, stun, and maim with impunity"; the evolutions of drones to that effect, is something I have been seeing coming for quite some time now, interspersed with American jurisprudence devolving into Code Napoleon Law, where one is considered guilty until proven innocent.

US TO SPEND $1 BILLION TO INSTALL MISSILE DEFENSE RADAR IN HAWAII

A billion dollar antiballistic radar system is being planned for development in Hawaii in order to counter nuclear ICBM threats from somewhere. Even though, at the present moment, there aren’t any threatening postures from nations with ICBM tech, the need to spend 1$ billion on detecting and combatting those ICBMs is apparently greater than ever before, at least according to some congressmen.

RT reports:

The flat-face surface radar would “counter evolving missile threats in the Pacific Region”, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) says. Although the timing of the radar’s construction seems curious given current efforts at rapprochement with North Korea, plans for the military installation actually predate the Trump administration. The radar system was mandated by the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act, which was signed into law by Barack Obama in December 2016.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Representative Schatz, a word, please: perhaps instead of shilling for interceptors and radar systems, you should be travelling on the decomposing roads of Oahu, and figure out just what is compelling Governor Ige to ignore the horrific conditions here, which are literally killing the cars which must drive over them?!?

And BTW, which of the major makers of interceptors and radar systems are supporting you, covertly, or overtly, to make this pitch?!?

I am really considering, just to make the point, of contacting Domino's Pizza for Potholes program, Paving for Pizza, and asking them to fill all the potholes on Oahu, which would be a formidable task, as a way of embarrassing the Governor for not taking care of this.

The Light Rail project on Oahu, which you supported, Appropriations Committed Passes Funding for Honolulu Rail, transportation, Housing, and Infrastructure Progams is hopelessly skewed in time and budget, and may never be finished; it is a flustercluck of bad engineering, bad choices, and money drained from the local economy which the people of Hawaii will never see again; why are you not supporting a forensic audit of where that money went?!?

Or are the people of this great state never supposed to know where it should have gone, but didn't?!?

Russia: UK Bribed OPCW Members

Russia considers the decision to expand the mandate of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) illegitimate, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"As a result of political manipulation, as well as, as has became known, the direct bribery of a number of delegations and outright blackmail, the UK and other states that are in favor of strengthening the chemical convention have managed to squeeze out its odious draft decision, which has conferred on the OPCW Technical Secretariat the powers to identify those responsible for the use of chemical weapons in Syria," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated.

According to Zakharova, Moscow considers the "odious draft decision" to be "illegitimate."

"We consider this decision illegitimate. We have to point out that the conference of the participating states went beyond the scope of its mandate while adopting this decision," Zakharova said at a weekly briefing.

Israel opposes easing US nuclear non-proliferation standards for Riyadh

After meeting with officials of US President Donald Trump's administration, Israel's energy minister expressed confidence on Tuesday that the United States will not relax non-proliferation standards in any nuclear power deal it agrees with Saudi Arabia.

Israel vehemently opposes any effort by Saudi Arabia to relax "gold standard" non-proliferation limits on enriching uranium or reprocessing nuclear fuel in any deal between the two countries, Yuval Steinitz, Israel's energy minister, told Reuters in an interview.

"Once you allow one country to enrich uranium or reprocess fuel, it will be extremely difficult to tell other countries in this vicinity or elsewhere in the world not to do so," he said.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has threatened to pursue nuclear weapons if Iran acquires them.

US backs Israel's nuclear secrecy as Netanyahu seeks to expose Iran

Donald Trump's administration had re-asserted its backing for Israel’s policy of secrecy about its own nuclear capabilities, as the Israeli government seeks to persuade the world Iran "lied" about not having a clandestine nuclear weapons programme.

The US government recently rebuffed Egypt’s renewed attempts to press Israel into showing its hand, suggesting that cannot happen until Israel is recognised by all of its neighbours.

Egypt wants Israel to sign up to a 1995 treaty on disarming the region and to submit to measures the International Atomic Energy Authority uses to ensure nuclear weapons are not spread.

"Such efforts are mistaken and unproductive," the US said in an submission to a preparatory committee last week, which claimed they still supported the treaty but adopted Israel’s position that regional conditions were not suitable.

Suppressing US War Crimes: The Cold War Denial Machine Lives On

George Burchett’s review of “Wormwood” gives the back story not often heard of the larger Korean War germ warfare story. The American use of bioweapons in Korea is known and accepted as fact by most Cold War scholars outside the US, but domestically, biological warfare remains one of the deepest kept secrets of the Cold War. That secret, even today 66 years after the fact, still has professional gatekeepers. No sooner had Ignatieff’s review of “Wormwood” appeared in that flagship of American liberal letters than the chief US point man on germ war denial, Milton Leitenberg, issued a response letter titled, “No They Didn’t.” In this letter, Leitenberg claims, “Dulles, Helms, et al. absolutely did not order Frank Olson killed because ‘he knew too much about US biological warfare during the Korean War’ because there was no biological warfare carried out by any agency of the US government during the Korean War, or for that matter by anyone else.”

UK calls for more chemical weapons powers

The UK risks fresh confrontation with Russia later when it asks for new powers for chemical weapons inspectors to assign blame for nerve agent attacks in Syria.

Inspectors can currently establish only whether such weapons have been used.

The UK foreign secretary will table the proposals, which are opposed by Moscow, at a special meeting of the chemical weapons watchdog (OPCW) at The Hague.

The meeting also comes in the wake of the nerve agent attack in Salisbury.

Four Presidents Conspired To Give $100 Billion to Israel: Secret White House Letters Buttress Ongoing US Arms Export Control Act Violations

New Yorker staff writer Adam Entous revealed on June 18 that four sitting U.S. presidents beginning with Bill Clinton signed secret letters agreeing never to publicly discuss Israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal. According to Entous, President Trump’s aides felt "blindsided" by Israeli ambassador Ron Dermer’s urgent demand to sign a fourth letter. Only a small number of "senior American officials" in the previous three administrations even knew about the existence of such letters. Though said not to specifically mention Israel’s arsenal, Israeli leaders interpret the letters as binding American pledges not to publicly mention Israel’s nuclear weapons or press Israel to sign the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The letters add to growing evidence of a longstanding multifaceted executive and federal agency conspiracy to violate the US Arms Export Control Act on Israel’s behalf.

Militarization of the African Continent: The U.S. Is Building a Massive $110 Million Drone Base in the Sahara

The Drone Base Will Provide a Stronger US Presence in a Region

[Combating Extremism is the stated objective. Terrorism is the Justification for the Militarization of Africa, GR Editor]

Back in 2013, President Obama had ordered a drone base to be built in the capital of Niger, Niamey, but even than military officials already indicated that ideally, they wanted the drone operation to be based outside of Agadez. The NY Times reported moving the drone base to Agadez had two main advantages. First, it is better positioned to launch drone operation throughout the southern regions of the Sahara that are turning into an alleged “terrorist hotbed”. Second, the drone operations are better shielded from prying eyes in isolated Agadez than in Niamey. A third reason, not mentioned by the NYT might well be that with the fall of Libyan leader Gaddafi, Agadez has turned into the smuggling capital of Africa, according to Politico Europe.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: this is about expropriating more of Africa's resources, to which the US government has absolutely zero moral right, while insuring that those living over said resources get scarce, or zero, compensation for those resources, and they will only be sold in American dollars.

It is just that simple.

Does the US government really want to stop terrorism in its tracks?!? All it has to do, is stop mucking about in other people's countries.

You're welcome! :-)

Key nuclear expert departs White House as North Korea negotiations loom

A key U.S. official involved in denuclearization talks with North Korea is leaving the White House just as the Trump administration prepares to engage in high-stakes negotiations with the isolated regime, the official confirmed to The Washington Post.

The departure of Andrea Hall, the National Security Council’s top staff official on weapons of mass destruction, comes as the Trump administration assembles a negotiating team capable of the intricate task of understanding and negotiating over North Korea’s elaborate array of nuclear weapons production facilities, warheads and missiles to deliver them.

How Trump and Three Other U.S. Presidents Protected Israel’s Worst-Kept Secret: Its Nuclear Arsenal

When a delegation of senior Israeli officials visited the Trump White House on February 13, 2017, they wanted to discuss several issues with their new American counterparts. Topping the list was a secret letter concerning a subject the Israelis had promised the Americans never to discuss publicly—Israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal. In a recent piece for The New Yorker, I described a tense scene in the West Wing as the Israeli delegation—which included Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer—tried to get the letter signed by President Donald Trump. By all accounts, the American Administration was eager to please the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, whom Trump had promised to lavish with unprecedented support. But, at that chaotic moment, Trump’s aides felt blindsided by the Israeli request. They knew nothing about the existence of any letters and were confused by the sense of urgency coming from the Israelis.

Why Do US Media Only Worry About One Authoritarian’s Nukes?

The world waits with bated breath as a “mad king” descends on Singapore, his finger itching to press the launch button and totally destroy his adversaries. Few disagree that a “radical and absolutist” dictator who can “use the power of the state to suppress the opposition while shielding itself from all potential sanction or limitation” should not have access to a possibly world-ending arsenal of nuclear weapons.

“Surrounded by a clique of sycophants who are willing to justify any course he might take,” there is little stopping this impulsive ruler from making a sudden, cataclysmic decision that could forever alter the course of human history. Indeed, “a party organized around a single extreme personality seems like a brittle proposition.” With this “cult of personality” in place, his people will be dragged unwittingly and hopelessly into the nuclear abyss along with him.

Why Russia is worried about US bio-laboratories in Kazakhstan

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with CSTO Foreign Ministers in Almaty, announced Russia's desire to gain access to reference laboratories that were opened with US financial support in Armenia and Kazakhstan

The words of Lavrov quoted the publication Kommersant: "Our special services and scientists are tense with the appearance of these laboratories, they do not rule out that this can somehow later be used against us, they do not put them in Western Europe."

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with other interested Russian departments (including security forces) seeks to avert the threat of the world's use of biological weapons. In some areas there is a positive trend. Thus, Moscow and Yerevan are discussing the possibility of signing an agreement on cooperation in the field of biological research, which will open access for Russian specialists to the US laboratories in Armenia.

Saudi-backed Yemeni forces capture Hodeidah airport

Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces have captured the airport at Hodeidah and have started preparations for the more complex task of capturing the city and its port nine miles (15km) to the north. The port is critical to the supply of aid to the rest of the famine-struck country.

Confirmation that the airport on the southern outskirts of the city had been seized after three days of fighting came from both TV pictures and eyewitness accounts. At least 40 Houthi fighters who had held the airport were killed, but most retreated into the city, preparing to fight a potentially intense street-by-street campaign that could endanger tens of thousands of civilians.

Afghan peace marchers arrive in Kabul exhausted and tired of war

Hundreds of Afghan peace marchers arrived exhausted in the capital, Kabul, on Monday after spending the fasting month of Ramadan crossing the sun-baked, war-torn country, much of it under Taliban control.

The marchers, all men, including teachers, students and war victims on crutches and one in a wheelchair, were welcomed along the way by village women carrying the holy Koran, men singing and dancing or offering bread and yoghurt, some in tears.

"I saw and learnt things that I had never thought of before," said Iqbal Khayber, 27, a medical student from Helmand.

"We met people in areas controlled by the Taliban and in areas under government control - everyone is really tired of war."

The march was triggered by a car bomb in Helmand on March 23 that killed at least 14 people and wounded dozens. No group claimed responsibility.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, as long as the US government and NATO want to see this horrific, senseless war continue, it will continue.

And why will it continue, these miserably long 17 years on?!?

Because the US government doesn't want the world to see this as another failed military campaign; so it doesn't matter how many Afghanis or US or NATO troops get killed, or maimed for life; after all, it's only a show about the US's and NATO's superior military capabilities, demonstrating that if they haven't left, they haven't lost, either.

IF US and NATO leadership had two braincells to rub together, they would evacuate their troops as quickly as is safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government was left standing in Kabul for the pipelines, the rare earth development; and the opium crops.

OF course, that... would be logical.

Saudi-led Coalition Enters Main Airport Compound of Yemen's Hodeidah

Saudi-led coalition forces stormed the airport after fierce battles broke out between coalition forces and Houthi militants who hold the main port city of Hodeidah, a local resident said.

"They have stormed the airport," said one Yemeni military source.

The Saudi-led coalition's aircraft carried out airstrikes, targeting Houthi fighters at the airport in Yemen's main port city of Hodeidah on June 18 in response to a missile targeting the southwestern Saudi city of Jizan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Expect a Saudi-generated bloodbath here, with utterly no quarter given, and no chance for infants, children, women, or the medically fragile elderly to survive.

And please remember; the US government is complicit in Saudi war crimes in Yemen, done in your name, and with your tax dollars.

And from antiwar.com, datelined yesterday, we have the following story:

UAE demands unconditional rebel pullout from rebel portThe article goes on to state:

"There are also an estimated 250,000 civilians left in Hodeidah. With airstrikes against the city on the rise, officials for the attacking forces say that only withdrawing from the city can “save the population.”

The massacre of citizens in Hodeidah... is coming; these conditions placed on the rebels by the UAE just telegraphed it with these demands.

ISRAELI WARPLANES BOMB GAZA IN RESPONSE TO PROTESTERS FLYING BURNING KITES

Israeli warplanes on Monday conducted air strikes in the northern Gaza Strip in response to incendiary kites being sent into Israeli territory, the military said, as two Palestinians, including a 13 year old, died later in the day in distinct circumstances.

Israel said it had carried out nine strikes targeting two Hamas compounds and one Hamas weapons manufacturing site and photos showed explosions lighting up the Gaza City skyline.

Colourful kites decorated with flags, slogans and patterns have become a symbol of resistance in the face of overwhelming Israeli military force during weeks of demonstrations.

Some with flaming tails have also been flown towards Israeli territory, causing several fires in farmlands and forests adjacent to Gaza and prompting Israeli officials to warn that kite fliers risk being targeted by snipers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why did the IDF see fit to assassinate a 13 year old boy?!?

Because they could, with absolutely impunity, and no worries about having to deal with pesky human rights questions!!Because, in the thinking of the IDF sniper who most likely killed him, he was a Gazan Palestinian, he simply deserved to be put down, like a mangy dog.

The flaming kite thing is absolutely wrong, and I condemn it; but I also condemn the Israeli military brutality which led to a feeling among some Palestinians, that this was the only way left for them to protest the utterly insane, open air prison in which they find themselves, called Gaza.
