Clashes erupt in East Jerusalem

Police have clashed with Palestinians in Jerusalem’s old quarter. It comes amid rising tensions in the Israeli-occupied eastern part of the city.

There was a heavy police presence for Friday prayers and access to the al-Aqsa mosque was limited to men over 40 and women of all ages, amid fears of further unrest.

The restrictions came 36 hours after an alleged attack by a Palestinian which killed an Israeli baby, and led to clashes in East Jerusalem.
