Israeli professor accused of equating the slaughter of Palestinian civilians by Israel to "mowing the grass"

The 'Northeastern University Students for Justice in Palestine' has issued an e-mail alert inviting folks to 'PACK THE ROOM' Wednesday night for a speech given by Israeli Professor Efraim Inbar. Their press release stated, in part, "In giving this talk, Inbar equates the slaughter of Palestinian civilians committed by Israel in its brutal attacks on Gaza to an act of "mowing the grass". Under international law, Israel has an obligation as an occupying power to the population as it occupies. To refer to Palestinians as "grass" to be mowed is genocidal language referring to war crimes regularly committed against the Palestinian people. As concerned students and community members, we will not tolerate this unacceptable justification for the murder of Palestinian lives on our own campus... Send an e-mail to Dean Uta Poiger ([email protected]) of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities and Northeastern University President Aoun ([email protected] - President's office) voicing your opinion on the event taking place. Let them know that as students, as alumni, and as community members you stand against the endorsement of war crimes as espoused by Efraim Inbar and the responsibility of Northeastern University to provide a safe campus for ALL students - INCLUDING Palestinian students."
