Japan Convokes National Security Council Meeting Amid North Korean Missile Test

Japan convoked an emergency meeting of the National Security Council after North Korea fired a missile on Wednesday, which presumably dropped in the Japanese exclusive economic zone in the Sea of Japan, media reported.

The decisions made at the meeting are not disclosed so far, Kyodo agency said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to the Japanese Security Council: what will ultimately get Kim Jung Un to stop testing missiles is a true, solid peace treaty, to replace the armistice (which a mere cessation of fighting between North and South Korea) which currently exists, with guarantees on trade, the cessation of sanctions, and freedom of navigation.

Any military response - from ANY country- will only accelerate North Korea's race to develop a maneuverable nuclear device, as a deterrent to being attacked, most probably by South Korea and the US.

And of course, any such move like that will involve China on North Korea's side, so...double plus ungood.!!
