MEXICO’S MURDER RATE IS SO HIGH IT HAS ALTERED THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF MEN

The murder rate in Mexico is now so high it has altered the overall life expectancy of men living there. By analyzing cause-of-death data from the Mexican Institute of Statistics, researchers have discovered the staggering impact homicide is having on the nation—with the murder rate between 2005 and 2015 rising by 53 percent compared to the decade before.

A team from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) found that in the state of Chihuahua, 8,943 men between the ages of 15 and 50 were killed over 2010 and 2011. That’s nearly three times the number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq between 2003 and 2006.

Life expectancy in Mexico has steadily increased since the 1940s. However, recent data indicates it has started to stagnate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Many years back, (probably when I was playing with my pet sabre tooth tiger) I remember going to Ensenada, or Tijuana, and I always felt safe.

But at this time in history, I would absolutely advise against going there. The cartels rule the government of Mexico, and the government is impotent to stop the drug-related crime.

Of course, what would be logical here, would be for the US and Mexico to legalize drugs, to take the profit motive out of it.

Portugal has been very much the poster child for this working quite well.

Portugal's radical drug policy is working; why hasn't the world copied it?

I would like to remind you of what happened when Prohibition was launched here in the US. While well-intentioned, it simply drove the liquor business underground, allowed a whole criminal underclass to become absolutely filthy rich.

There has been a lot of conjecture for many years that President Kennedy's father, Joe Kennedy, was a bootlegger, which has never been thoroughly proven; but his dealings with foreign heads of state, remain documented. He took a trip to England right after the end of prohibition, to work a deal with Winston Churchill about liquor distribution, as he knew that Prohibition was ending soon.

Churchill's investment deal with Joe Kennedy shortly before the ending of Prohibition.

He clearly understood that money, in the US, translated the holder of that money to an elevated position, so he sought to "legitimize" the family dynasty to a point where one son, John Kennedy, became the President of this country, and the other, Robert Kennedy, became the US's Attorney General.

But I wish that President Trump had someone on his side ("A Trump Whisperer, perhaps?!?) who would explain to him that if drugs were legalized, it would rip the financial security of the drug cartels right out from under them.

Unfortunately, however, because banks so love to "launder" drug money, and people still can buy "financially legitimacy", not to mention, potentially, an occasional politician or two, moving from illegitimate businesses to legal ones, will only happen when pigs discover... that they are aerodynic.
