More Secret Service shenanigans: Agents sent to monitor staffer’s neighborhood dispute

U.S. Secret Service officials diverted personnel to monitor an employee’s neighborhood dispute in 2011 at the expense of presidential protection, according to a new report from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General.

Investigators found no legal or procedural justification for the deployment of Secret Service “Prowler” team members, usually assigned to patrol areas near the White House, to the employee’s home in southern Maryland, a 50-minute drive away.
