North Korea’s destruction of nuclear site ‘is like trampling over a murder scene’

North Korea will be dismantling its Punggye-ri nuclear site this week after Kim Jong-un announced the nation would take steps towards denuclearisation.

However nuclear scientists and North Korea experts fear vital evidence of Kim Jong-un’s nuclear ambitions will be destroyed.

North Korea has invited a handful of media representatives to witness the dismantling of the Punggye-ri site but not technical experts despite calls from the US for "a permanent and irreversible closure that can be inspected and fully accounted for".

Bruce Bechtol, an expert on North Korea, has likened the destruction of the nuclear test site to trampling on a murder scene.

Mr Bechtol, a professor of political science at Angelo State University, said: “It's kind of like a murder scene where they let people like you and me trample around in it, it's the same concept.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No matter what North Korea does, it is declared a bad thing.
