ROSIE O’DONNELL FACING 10-YEARS IN PRISON FOR ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN DONATIONS

Rosie O’Donnell made illegal contributions to at least 5 Democratic candidates that are over the legal limit set by the Federal Election Commission.

The former comedienne talk show host has broken the FEC rules limiting individual contributions to $2,700 per election.

O’Donnell donated over $90,000 during the 2017-2018 elections, to 50 candidates and committees.

Candidates and contributors are legally liable for obeying the FEC election rules. Candidates are not usually punished for isolated donations but donors that make multiple excessive donations may be investigated and receive felony charges resulting in fines and prison.

A single felony charge for this type of election crime carries a penalty of 2-years in prison. If found guilty on merely the 5 counts already publicly known, O’Donnell could be facing major time behind bars.

Dinesh D’Souza, a conservative author and filmmaker, plead guilty to FEC violations after reimbursing two friends for donations to Republican Senate candidate Wendy Long in 2012. D’Souza was sentenced to 8 months, 5-years’ probation, and fined $30,000.
