Saudi leaders sent messages to Iran's president: Spokesman

The spokesman for Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's administration has confirmed that Saudi leaders have been sending messages to Iran's president through a head of state, though refraining to give any details on the nature of those messages.

Ali Rabiei made the remarks during his weekly press briefing in Tehran on Monday, when he was asked about reports denoting that the Saudi leadership has been sending messages to Iran's chief executive.

“Yes, this is true that they have sent messages to Mr. Rouhani through a head of state,” Rabiei noted, adding, “We must see signs of it [Saudi’s goodwill] without any ambiguity, and the first sign of it is to stop the aggression against Yemen and put an end to the massacre of Yemenis.”

in his interview with 60 Minutes, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman tried to do some damage control on the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi, and the ongoing war in Yemen. The focus ultimately was brought back to the Saudis’ favorite topic, Iran.

The prince warned that there is still a danger of escalation with Iran, and called on the world to unite with “strong and firm action” against Iran, saying Iran would otherwise threaten world interests.

The prince further predicted that if the world doesn’t stop Iran, oil supplies will be cut off and oil prices will hit levels “we haven’t seen in our lifetimes,” a threat the Saudis have often used to convince the world to support their position.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The above bit comes from the Iranian blog, Presstv.com, making it appear that the Houth military triumphs in Saudi Arabia, are giving that country a reason to begin to attempt to open some kind of dialogue their Iranian counterparts in Tehran, something which would hardly been imaginable, as a possible step, even a month ago.

Unfortunately, the piece in antiwar.com, would have the world think the opposite, and is titled: Saudi Prince Warns of Escalation With Iran, Higher Oil Prices<

The problem for this battered, recycled threat to become resurgent, is that Iran hasn't really done anything wrong, other that refuse to sell their oil in US dollars.

And it did, until very recently honor the P5+1 deal, until, of course, the US government reneged on it earlier this year, as a personal favor from President Trump to Israel's Prime Minister, Netanyahu, and to his most prolific US suporter, Sheldon Adelson.

The Houthi timing on this attack, was nothing less than brilliant, even if that brilliance might well be chalked up to " amazing unexpectedly good timing" on the Houthi's part, relative to what is happening in the US geopolitical-grinder: because here you have Saudi Arabia's BFF in the Middle East, the ruler of the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, chokingly caught up in the throes of yet another impeachment "wang-dangorama", this time concerning Ukraine, and American Pols on both sides of the isle, terrified that they will lose their "seat at the public trough.

I have not yet heard one note from those alleged "Congressional Representatives on this issue, as they are so completely focused on not getting impeached, or charged, that suddenly, it appears that Iran and Saudi Arabia are suddenly, and absolutely, on their own here.

Unless President Trump is thoroughly ready to create some very bold actions
to prevent this from escalating into a fell-scale war (unless that is the absolute goal of bringing Iran down,, that will be precisely what he will be getting; and with the added caveat, that Russia will not allow Iran to go down in flames, if there is something they can do to prevent it.

Mr. President, please; War with Iran, over Yemen?!?

And just one final question, sir; when will the US government be ready to declare a draft, which will be horrifically necessary, if we declare war against Iran?!? The above bit comes from the Iranian blog, Presstv.com, making it appear that the Houth military triumphs in Saudi Arabia, are giving that country a reason to begin to attempt to open some kind of dialogue their Iranian counterparts in Tehran, something which would hardly been imaginable, as a possible step, even a month ago.

With Biden and Trump in the political fight for their lives, I would like both of them to remember a phrase from both physics and politics; "nature abhors a vacuum"; so what happens now if the Saudis are militarily defeated by those Houthi forces, who were " held in so low in esteem" they weren't worthy of any consideration whatsoever, just a couple of months ago, but have become really formidable and capable fighters as well as diplomats?!?

Perhaps now, might be a time for intelligent, fresh thinking on this issue, that does not get the US military dragged down into another sucking, sinkhole of another protracted war.
