The Old 'False-Flag Trick'

Government is the only human enterprise that profits from failure. Once that principle is understood, many otherwise inexplicable choices made by ruling elites and their servants can be made intelligible. For instance, we can begin to understand the perverse persistence governments display in courting preventable catastrophes, and then capitalizing on such incidents to enhance their power to do exactly the same things that resulted in disaster. In this case, in addition to requiring the helotry to undergo unconscionable personal violations before flying, the Regime is exploiting the incident aboard Northwest Flight 253 to escalate the ongoing military assault on Yemen, thereby increasing the human misery that helps propel international terrorism.

Should Khalid Shaikh Mohammed go free? The torture of a terrorist

Christopher King argues the case for releasing Al-Qaeda suspect Khalid Shaikh Mohammed in order to highlight the issues involved that go much further than punishing a terrorist.

”The crimes against Mohammed are so egregious that they have undermined both the foundations of Western law and fundamental humanitarian principles; they have regressed the relationship of the individual to the state by half a millennium; they have demonstrated that the USA regards foreigners as outside law and unworthy of humanitarian treatment. Mohammed has been subjected to crimes of incredible gravity by the American state.

PsyOp Internet battle for Hearts, and Minds

The Internet revolution has changed the face of our planet. Over the last 20 years there's been a complete transformation of the way we live, conduct business, and share information. In the same amount of time, information technology has helped bring countless atrocities committed by governments, and global corporations into view. We've seen the rise of groups like "We Are Change", and birthing of the "Truth Movement"; which has kicked off a viral, and grassroots information wave. The Internet's been in many regards a saving grace of mankind, and in the same likeness the greatest threat to the establishment!

Avatar: a humanist call from Mt Hollywood (film review by Gilad Atzmon)

"Avatar may well be the biggest anti War film of all time. It stands against everything the West is identified with. It is against greed and capitalism, it is against interventionism, it is against colonialism and imperialism, it is against technological orientation, it is against America and Britain. It puts Wolfowitz, Blair and Bush on trial without even mentioning their names. It enlightens the true meaning of ethics as a dynamic judgmental process rather than   fixed moral guidelines (such as the Ten Commandments or the 1948 Human Right Declaration). It throws a very dark light on our murderous tendencies towards other people, their belief and rituals…"

PetroChina Wins Approval for $1.8 Billion Canadian Acquisition

Dec. 30 (Bloomberg) — PetroChina Co. won the approval of the Canadian government for its C$1.9 billion ($1.8 billion) bid to buy a stake in two Alberta oil-sands projects, its biggest North American acquisition.

The purchase by China’s largest oil company of a 60 percent share in Athabasca Oil Sands Corp.’s MacKay River and Dover oil- sands projects “is likely to be of net benefit to Canada,” Industry Minister Tony Clement said in a statement yesterday.

Sorry, Secretary Napolitano, But the System Didn't Work

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano should make up her mind: did the system work or not? Following the failed terror attack aboard a Northwest Airlines Detroit-bound flight on Christmas day, Napolitano has changed her tune from: "Once the incident occurred, the system worked," to "Our system did not work in this instance." The real question is whether she actually believes the former declaration or the latter, and whether she's playing politics here. Either way, her behavior following Thursday's incident is disturbing.

The plot thins ...

The more I read about the latest plane terrorist, the more I know it's all fake.

Yesterday we were told the terrorist himself said the explosive was strapped to his leg, today we are told by the Telegraph, quoting nobody at all, that it was sewn into his underwear. Okay, maybe he was wearing long winter underwear.

The Telegraph, again quoting nobody at all, tells us the explosive was the same as Richard Reid used. Yet in all this time, authorities have not come up with a detection method for this type of explosive?

I can't wait to see what stories the other rags are coming out with.

Zeitgeist Addendum film review: past, present, and future of money and economics

*hyperlinks and video live at source*

Zeitgeist Addendum is the 2008 follow-up to the 2007 100 million Internet-viewed Zeitgeist. The film focuses on humanity’s fundamental problem of a viciously antagonistic relationship among ourselves and its reflection in economic structures. The solution presented is to understand three areas of money and economics, and one area of philosophical creative potential:

1.The mechanics of our fractional reserve monetary system that only and always creates debt that is impossible to ever repay.
2.Our corporatocracy governments that enslave nations under unpayable debt to control resources and profit.
3.The option of upgrading our economy from a scarcity and profit-based paradigm to a resource and technology-driven paradigm.

Black hole of debt triggers Obama defections but re-election is possible

Nearly one year on, Mr Obama, according to one poll last week, has an approval rating of 47 per cent – the lowest for any president at this point in his first term. The extraordinary movement of young, old, liberal, independents, black, Hispanic, disaffected Republicans and first time voters that propelled him to victory last year has splintered. The grandiloquent calls for transformation have gone. Today, it is not inconceivable that Mr Obama could lose re-election.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The real question is, bloated with an unrepayable national debt and with billions being spent on these wars without end, will the US government even survive in its current form in the year 2012?

Americans Are Hell-Bent On Tyranny

Obama's dwindling band of true believers has taken heart that their man has finally delivered on one of his many promises--the closing of the Guantanamo prison. But the prison is not being closed. It is being moved to Illinois, if the Republicans permit.

In truth, Obama has handed his supporters another defeat. Closing Guantanamo meant ceasing to hold people in violation of our legal principles of habeas corpus and due process and ceasing to torture them in violation of US and international laws.

All Obama would be doing would be moving 100 people, against whom the US government is unable to bring a case, from the prison in Guantanamo to a prison in Thomson, Illinois.

Egypt’s President Mubarak blows his chance to behave decently

Stuart Littlewood argues that time is running out for Egyptian President Husni Mubarak to prove that he is not an Israeli stooge and allow the Viva Palestina international humanitarian aid convoy to reach the besieged Gaza Strip in time for the first anniversary of Israel’s mass slaughter of Gazans.

”The convoy’s request for easy passage was Mubarak's big chance to show that he was not, after all, the cruel and unprincipled Zionist stooge that civilized people across the world had already consigned to the dustbin of history. It is not too late to make amends. But if he doesn’t act quickly he’ll blow it for everyone, including himself.”

Pig farts spark Australia gas scare

A flatulent pig sparked a gas emergency in southern Australia Thursday when a farmer mistook its odours for a leaking pipe, officials said.

Fifteen firefighters and two trucks were called to a property at Axedale in central Victoria state after reports of a gas leak, the Country Fire Service said.

"When we got there, as we drove up the driveway, there was this huge sow, about a 120-odd kilo (265-pound) sow, and it was very obvious where the gas was coming from," said fire captain Peter Harkins.

"We could not only smell it, but we heard it and it was quite funny."

POTENTIAL FOR IN-FLIGHT FIRES DUE TO LITHIUM BATTERY FAILURE

Webmaster's Commentary:

The event as detailed by eye witnesses is remakarbly consistent with a known issue with laptop/notebook PCs running on lithium-ion batteries.

They are notorious for their incendiary properties. Apparently the perpetrator's thighs were severely burnt.(?)

The FAA has not publicly reported any such incidents as yet, but in-flight incidents are known.

So, what if Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, a student, was using his laptop on the plane when the Lithium Ion battery caught fire? The nearby passengers ove5r-react, the plot declares an emergency and thew US media is off and running with an attention-grabbing headline of terror in the skies before it was realized this was purely a computer malfunction!

Remember, the Gulf of Tonkin Incident was started with a mistake by an inexperienced sonar operator who heard his own ship's screws and mistook them for a torpedo. The mistake was known almost immediately, but the media momentum to blame the "attack" on North Vietnam was already underway and there was no internet to force a correction.

Just something to think about. A cooked-off battery followed by a security and media over-reaction explains all the inconsistencies in the story.

American Zionist fear monger David Harris campaigns for Iran’s destruction

Paul J. Balles views one of the fear-producing packages of a major Zionist voice in America, David Harris, Director of the American Jewish Committee, who advocates destroying Iran economically, politically and militarily for the nuclear weapons it doesn't have, while overlooking Israel's vast arsenal of nuclear bombs.

”...Harris tries to drum up global fear of Iran, a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, while Harris knows full well that Israel has over 200 nuclear warheads and Iran has none.

“Harris ignores the fact that Israel has been in attack-mode since its beginnings – ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, invasion and sponsorship of Sabre and Shatilla murders in Lebanon's refugee camps, slaughter in Gaza, military theft of the Golan Heights from Syria.

Night Before Christmas Debacle

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the Senate
Evidence was mounting of democracy's limit.

The People dismayed by what they were seeing
Sixty votes it now takes to do just about anything.

The Constitution took care to protect the minority
A wealthy elite exploiting the majority.

Obama a prisoner of establishment power
Claims "victory" with words that surely taste sour.

As the healthcare battle appears to be done
the people are told, "Go to sleep now, you've won!"

The dejected masses comply and act tame
While Obama unabashedly calls out some names

Now Geithner, Now Orszag, Emanual, and Baucus
On DePearle, On Lieberman, Nelson and Sebelius

A man with a smile audaciously says, "hope"
surrounded by insiders who think I'm a dope.

"We stood up to special interests," he says as he winks
But his words are cheap, this deal really stinks.

The man with a smile says "The struggle is on"
More people look askance as they detect a con.

And when the dust settles the people will see
No healthcare reform from the powers that be.

Though believers continue to heap on their praise
Their numbers dwindle with the passing of days.

The media, corporate owned, just plays along
while the people say, "something's terribly wrong."

The Empire teeters, the establishment takes fright
But with happy faces say, 'To all a good night."

9/11 Drug Pilot & Operation Blue Lightning

So while the intent of Operation Blue Lightning’s interest in Brassington remains unclear, it is fair to ask: Was Brassington’s “special handling” by Operation Blue Lightning designed to impede criminal activity? Or to facilitate it?

Operation Blue Lightning clearly fits the description provided by a top DEA official in Miami when he informed us why the DEA had not mounted an investigation into the owners of two planes caught carrying over 10 tons of cocaine in Mexico’s Yucatan:

Because the two American drug planes belonged to a “rogue” operation in U.S. Customs, explained the DEA official. So the investigation properly belonged to the Office of Investigations in the Dept of Homeland Security.

Former head of CDC lands lucrative job as president of Merck vaccine division

You’ve heard it before, how the pharmaceutical industry has a giant “revolving door” through which corporations and government agencies frequently exchange key employees. That reality was driven home in a huge way today when news broke that Dr. Julie Gerberding, who headed the Center for Disease Control (CDC) from 2002 through 2009, landed a top job with Merck, one of the largest drug companies in the world. Her job there? She’s the new president of the vaccine division.

How convenient. That means the former head of the CDC was very likely cultivating a relationship with Merck all these years, and now comes the big payoff: Heading up a $5 billion division that sells cervical cancer vaccines (like Gardasil), chickenpox vaccines and of course H1N1 swine flu vaccines, too.

It's not simply a question of differing views,
Forget emotions, this is fact, what I spit is the truth,
Makes no difference if you're a Christian or if you're a Jew,
They are just people living in different conditions to you,
They still die when you bomb their schools, mosques and hospitals,
It is not because of rockets, please god can you stop it all,

Red, White and Blue Storm Rising

It is said that art often must imitate life. In the case of Tom Clancy's "Red Storm Rising", the motives and actions of the fictionalized USSR line up rather nicely with those of the real life USA. And therein lies a warning for those who think fake terror is the ideal tool with which to rule. For in Clancy's book, following a costly and bloody war, the fictionalized USSR is no better off than when it started, still without oil, still without money, and with a military coup on top of it all.

Life imitates art?

I hope not.

Orwellian Peace Prize winner Obama’s response: spend at a 50-to-1 ratio to attack Afghans compared with money to help them.

Stock Up On Incandescent Light Bulbs In Fact, Buy a Lifetime Supply of Them!

Our government's "Green Revolution" is another covert attack on our collective health and environment, largely using their mythical global warming hoax to do so.

The new Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulbs are a perfect example of this kind of subterfuge. While claiming these new CFL bulbs will reduce carbon emissions, "our" Congress passed legislation stating these new light bulbs must completely replace our everyday incandescent light bulbs by 2014, without telling us of the serious dangers to health and environment, that these mandated bulbs pose.

Auschwitz yet again

Early on Friday [18 December] the famous "Arbeit Macht Frei" (Work Sets You Free) sign that hung over the entrance gate to the Auschwitz camp, was stolen.

Commenting to the BBC on the theft of the Auschwitz sign, Rabbi Andrew Baker, the director of International Jewish Affairs of the rabid Zionist American Jewish Committee, maintained that there should be no replicas to substitute the entrance monument. “There can be no copies or reproductions; visitors must see only what was real. In that way they will bear witness to the very objects and structures which in turn remain the mute eyewitness to what happened there."

Russia surprised by U.S., EU stance on UN anti-Nazi resolution

Russia is concerned over the stance of the United States and the European Union on a UN resolution condemning the glorification of Nazism and the desecration of WWII monuments, the Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And now we have a motive for the theft of the Aushwitz sign; to push forward the anti-desecration agenda.

Will Britain’s Iraq Inquiry be a whitewash?

Christopher King calls on the chairman of Britain's Iraq Inquiry, Sir John Chilcot, to hear evidence on the legality of the war from legally qualified persons and recommend that a court either should or should not make a determination of the war’s legality.

”I do not know whether Sir John has the personal courage and independence of mind to do this but one never knows. Whether or not the UK and Europe seek the path of international law rather than remain camp followers of American hegemony could hinge on his actions.”

50 days to save the world? I might listen to the doomsayers if they weren't such ludicrous hypocrites

The Copenhagen summit, supposed to produce an agreement limiting greenhouse gases, has, according to experts, the same carbon footprint as a medium-sized African country such as Malawi.

There are an amazing 34,000 delegates attending the event, and the grander among them are forced, says my colleague Robert Hardman in Copenhagen, to park their private jets in Norway because Denmark has run out of Tarmac, and to procure their gas-guzzling limousines from Germany.

WHO ADVISER CONCEALS A DONATION OF MILLIONS FROM A PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY

A Finnish member of the WHO board, an advisor on vaccines, has received 46 million crowns (6 million euros) for his research centre from the vaccine manufactures, GlaxoSmithKline. WHO promises transparency, but this conflict of interests is not available for the public to see at WHO’s homepage.

Another ‘WHO’ vaccine advisor is withholding information concerning financial support from the pharmaceutical industry...

Copenhagen climate summit: confusion as 'historic deal' descends into chaos

The “historic” climate change deal at the Copenhagen climate summit has descended into chaos after some developing nations rejected the plan for fighting global warming championed by US President Barack Obama.

An agreement to limit global warming to a 3.6F (2C) temperature rise, alongside a $100 billion (£62bn) a year in aid from 2020, were condemned as inadequate by some delegates and appeared to be in danger of unravelling.

Developing nations, including Venezuela, said they could not accept a text originally agreed by the United States, China, India, Brazil and South Africa as the blueprint of a wider United Nations plan to fight climate change.

Tempers flared during an all-night plenary session, held after most of 120 visiting world leaders had left.

How do They do It? It Baffles the Mind

I must say that it astounds me when I watch these people lie and press on with their lies and evil deeds, even when their lies are exposed all around them. I try to understand what it must be like to be capable of this but I cannot. I think about the men and women who send other people’s sons and daughters off to die in foreign lands, for the profit of bankers and their associates. I can’t imagine how one gets to a state of such callous indifference; this desire for the fruits gained upon the torment and deaths of others. I pity them. I really do. I would not want to walk that road they are on. Have they no consciousness of where it leads? I do.

Army general in Iraq issues pregnancy ban

The Army general of U.S. forces in Northern Iraq has banned pregnancy among military personnel in his command, NBC News reported on Friday.

Anyone who becomes pregnant or impregnates another servicemember, including married couples assigned to the same unit, could face a court-martial and jail time, according to an order issued by Maj. Gen. Anthony Cucolo.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a terrifying commentary about how stretched to the limit the US military has become.

What happens, though, if a female service member, serving with her husband, has been studiously using the birth control method prescribed by her doctor, and contraception fails, which it sometimes can, and does?

Will the only thing preventing her from facing a court-martial, and/or serving jail time, be an abortion?!?

That's something every young woman (and the man who loves her) has to think about very seriously before enlisting.

Real liberals support progressive policies; fakes, fascists wage war, deny help for Americans

*hyperlinks and video live at source*

Let’s define “political liberal,” view current US wars and economic policies through that lens, and determine appropriate policy response if progressivism is to be honored.

Progressivism defined: There is variance in understanding, but let’s work with these
Egalitarian economic policy meeting the minimal needs of education, health care, housing, food, and a sustainable environment.
Investment in research and openness to new ideas for social improvement.
Sufficient government programs to achieve the above goals while maximizing individual freedom.

A Nation Born and Perpetuated in Contradictions

The myth is embodied in Barack Obama’s repeated explanations as to why he was against our 2003 invasion of Iraq from the beginning. It turns my stomach every times I hear “I am not opposed to ALL wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars”. The problem with our invasion of Iraq was not that it was a “dumb war”. It was an immoral war and an illegal war. We attacked a defenseless nation that posed no threat to us and killed hundreds of thousands of its civilians, created millions of refugees, and ruined its infrastructure. That is immoral, pure and simple. But no politician with presidential aspirations could say such a thing without risking their political future. Most Americans simply don’t like to hear that there country has committed immoral acts. It’s ok to admit “mistakes”. But admitting immorality is considered beyond the pale.

Real conservatives honor US war laws; fakes and fascists lie to break them

*hyperlinks and video live at source*

Let’s define “political conservative,” view current US wars through that lens, and determine appropriate war policy if conservatism is to be honored.

Conservatism defined: There is variance in understanding, but let’s work with these
Respecting law and order, the US Constitution, and inalienable rights for equal opportunity.
Self-reliance and personal responsibility.
Minimal government intervention for maximum freedom and minimal tax cost.

The Norway Spiral and the Ticks on the Run

In the US, they passed a truly humungous Defense Spending Bill (which didn’t even include the surge) designed to protect that country from a manufactured terrorist threat which the neo-cons are carefully and not so carefully manipulating at the public expense. Fat-faced, alcoholic lawmakers are arguing about how transparent the national health care bill can be. Do they just turn it over completely to the insurance and pharmaceutical firms to run or do they hide that fact and how much of it do they hide? It’s becoming increasingly clear that no matter how much money they charge the public, there is not going to be enough for them. I suspect they will cut a deal with First Premier Bank and everyone will be able to pay with their credit cards. If you don’t have one you can get one.

Washington's Blog: Copenhagen Climate Treaty scam: trillions in taxes with Enron-like trading rules

*hyperlinks live at source*

My favorite economic analyst, Washington’s Blog, documents what’s developing in disclosure of the provisions within the Copenhagen Framework, including Enron-like skimming of non-wealth producing “trades.” I provide a summary that the global temperature data and revealed e-mails seem to fully falsify the premise for the global taxes.

I recommend Washington’s Blog as a daily visit. Here is his post, in full:

Copenhagen Framework Demands Huge Amounts of Spending, But Allows Enron-Style Accounting Tricks So That Carbon Isn't Actually Reduced

People of Hawaii Pass Resolution Against Forced Vaccination Laws

Hawaii H1N1 Resolution Advances Vaccination Exemptions Favoring Americans' Growing Demand for Health Freedoms
Hilo, HI--Department of Health officials in Hawaii were overruled by County of Hawaii directors supporting a resolution favoring First Amendment constitutional rights and vaccination exemptions for everyone demanding them.

The nearly unanimous 7-1 Big Island of Hawaii Council vote sent a strong message to State and Federal policy makers to consider a majority of people who solidly distrust risky vaccines in general, and health officials' claims of safety regarding H1N1 vaccines in particular.

Breaking Point - Top Trends by Gerald Celente

The first decade of the 21st century is going out the way it came in with a bust and a bang.

The Great Recession is not over. There is no recovery. It's a cover up. Expect another wave of terrorism. Possibly of 9/11 magnitude.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As for "...another wave of terrorism", I wouldn't bet against some new "false flag" operation to be launched in the US to refocus public anger about the economy and the state of our Republic elsewhere; to make us afraid that "only the government can help us now", and conjure up the most jingoistic, knee-jerk patriotism possible against whoever the next target of US military aggression will be.

Alberta shivers amid record lows

Edmonton has established a record it would probably rather forget.

The Alberta capital recorded the lowest temperature in North America overnight Saturday and set a record as the lowest temperature on a Dec. 13 in the city's history as the current deep freeze established records across the province.

"Edmonton International Airport was the coldest place in Canada," Peter Spyker, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said Sunday. "It was -46.1 [Celsius] without the wind chill. I believe at one point it got to -58 with the wind chill."

===

Notice that the previous record of -36 Celsius was set the previous year. It certainly does not appear to be getting warmer.

Grinding Down the U.S. Army

Signs of severe strain, of being “wasted,” are often not visible to the American public. Nevertheless, they are ominous and growing. Suicides have hit record highs in the Army. Cases of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression, having reached an alarming 300,000 in 2008, according to Invisible Wounds of War, a RAND study, continue to escalate, constituting a mental health crisis for the Army. Traumatic brain injuries from IEDs and other explosive shocks in our war zones, difficult to diagnose and even more difficult to treat, may already exceed 300,000, another health crisis exacerbated by a lack of treatment available to veterans. Divorce rates among active duty troops continue to climb. An epidemic of domestic violence and crime has been linked to returning veterans and to the difficulty of readjusting to “normal” life after months, or years, in combat zones. These are just five of the better documented signs of an Army that’s struggling to cope with wars of unprecedented length and still uncertain outcomes.
