German Minister Admits Lockdown Will Kill More Than COVID-19 Does

Germany’s Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development, Gerd Muller, has warned that lockdown measures throughout the globe will end up killing more people than the Coronavirus itself.

Europe’s LOCKDOWN will kill more people worldwide than Covid-19 virus, German minister warns

Anti-coronavirus measures will have significantly more severe consequences than the disease itself, especially in developing countries, Germany’s Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Gerd Muller warned.

The grim prognosis was made by the German official in an interview with the Handelsblatt daily. The pandemic has already triggered “one of the biggest” hunger and poverty crises across the world, Muller said – and further damage will be done thanks to the measures taken to battle it.

We expect an additional 400,000 deaths from malaria and HIV this year on the African continent alone, while half a million more will die from tuberculosis.

Britain, France, and Germany Spurn US Plan for Iran Sanctions

Trump Administration officials have been saying this for weeks, but on Friday reiterated their intentions to try to enforce a UN Security Council resolution that includes broad sanctions against Iran. Officials say they expect every nation to comply.

The glaring problem with this is that the resolution doesn’t exist, at least not as an active resolution the US wants. The P5+1 nuclear deal gave the US the authority to reimpose sanctions on Iran, but the US had withdrawn from that pact years ago. Though the Trump Administration argued that didn’t matter, the UN has virtually unanimously rejected their interpretation, and rejected the UN Security Council resolution. The US believes the resolution becomes active Sunday, but the reality is it just doesn’t exist legally.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These actions spell desperation on the cusp of madness, and the world is not following suit; so, what is next here, an invasion of Iran?!?

Considering just how "brilliantly" the other US occupations around the world are going, you might imagine it might just be time for a "re-think" on this; but of course, Israel's Bibi Netanyahu will not allow that to happen; he wants the US waging war against Iran, so Israel will not have to.

Berlin struggles to answer RT's question on fate of mysterious Navalny aide who left Russia for Germany without being questioned

When asked by RT, on Monday, German government representatives failed to explain the mystery surrounding an Alexey Navalny's associate who was with him at the time of his alleged poisoning and went to Germany shortly afterwards.

During a press conference, officials failed to provide any actual answer about the woman identified by Russian authorities as 'Marina Pevchikh.'

“I can’t tell you anything about this. We must not forget that an attempt was made on the life of Mr Navalny with the use of a poisonous substance. But I can’t tell you anything about the location of an individual,” Government spokesman Steffen Seibert stated.

The associate of the Kremlin critic was reportedly together with Navalny in Tomsk before his alleged poisoning. Unlike all other individuals who interacted with him on that day, she did not cooperate with Russian investigators and quickly left the country for Germany.

Germany’s nationwide test of emergency warning system flops

People around Germany waited for sirens to sound at 11 a.m. Thursday, when the country was supposed to conduct its first nationwide test since 1990 of the emergency warning system.

But in many towns and cities, including Kaiserslautern, which is home to one of the largest overseas American military communities, they were met with silence — or at least no howling emergency sirens.

“Anyone else not get any sirens or warnings? K-town obviously didn’t play today,” Elaine Ebert wrote in a Facebook group for military spouses in the Kaiserslautern area.

No sirens sounded in Spangdahlem or Baumholder, either, other members of the group said.

US embassy to challenge Germany over attempts to tax American troops

Germany is violating an international treaty when it asks U.S. military personnel to pay taxes in the country, the U.S. Embassy in Berlin said as it jumped into a long-running fiscal dispute that has affected hundreds of U.S. troops and civilians.

The U.S. Embassy and military commands “are aware of this long-standing issue and working closely in concert to address what we believe to be a misinterpretation of the NATO Status of Forces Agreement,” embassy spokesman Joseph Giordono-Scholz said in a statement this week.

“The Department of Defense and Department of State are engaged to try and reach a resolution,” Giordono-Scholz said, giving the first indication that the issue is being tackled at a higher level than military commands in Germany, which have been unable to resolve it after years of trying.

Germany Stops Harvest, "Temporarily Bans Agriculture" as African Swine Fever Reaches Europe

Germany institutes "Agriculture Ban" on all crops within 30km of first confirmed African Swine Fever (ASF), which will not only provide FOOD & SHELTER to the wild hogs spreading the virus, but deprive Germany of that food left in the ground. If this irrational response sets precedent as the virus spreads across west Europe, we will witness the deliberate shutdown of food production, contributing to major global food shortages.

As Official Germany Talks Of Stopping Russian Gas Via Nord Stream II, US Importing Record Amounts Of It

Update: Sahra Wagenknecht has followed up her NOZ interview, covered below, with a tweet: “Why, when the US is importing record amounts of Russian oil, should the EU not be allowed to purchase gas from Russia? BuReg must not fall in withTrump’s hypocrisy. Fracking gas from the USA is an expensive and environmentally harmful alternative!”

Sahra Wagenknecht, Die Linke, sees double standards at work in the Navalny case.

In the debate about measures to punish Russia because of the Navalny case, Wagenknecht warns against “hypocrisy” and referred to thousands of deaths from US drone murders [without any consequent sanctions].

German State's Premier Urges to Finalise Nord Stream 2 Amid Calls to Abandon Pipeline

The head of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, referred to fellow CDU member Friedrich Merz's calls to freeze the promising joint Russian-German Nord Stream 2 venture for at least two years as an erroneous move.

Premier of the eastern German state of Saxony Michael Kretschmer has stressed the necessity of completing the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. His Christian Democratic Union colleague and chairman candiate, Friedrich Merz, earlier called to halt the venture, something Kretschmer dubbed "a mistake".

"Nord Stream 2 must be completed. We depend on each other, we need this cooperation", the politician was quoted by DPA as saying.

Angela Merkel is trapped by a murderous dictator: German Chancellor's carefully nurtured relationship with Vladimir Putin is spiralling out of control in the wake of the Alexei Navalny poisoning

For a politician who stands accused of pulling her punches when it comes to the various heinous acts of Vladimir Putin at home and abroad, Angela Merkel had a shock for her critics yesterday.

By confirming that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned with Novichok – a lethal Soviet-era nerve agent – the German Chancellor was in effect accusing the Kremlin of attempted murder.

There were ‘very serious questions that only the Russian government can answer and must answer’ about the move to silence the anti-corruption campaigner, Merkel said.

The German Chancellor has long sold herself to her Nato partners as the one person who can talk to the Russian president – after all, she grew up in Soviet-controlled East Germany and speaks fluent Russian.

500 GERMAN DOCTORS AND SCIENTISTS QUESTION OFFICIAL COVID-19 STORY – ‘IT IS HIGH TIME THAT WE TOOK THIS INTO OUR OWN HANDS’

More than 500 German doctors and scientists have officially formed an organization to investigate the global response to Covid-19 called the “Corona Extra-Parliamentary Inquiry Committee”, or Außerparlamentarischer Corona Untersuchungsausschuss (ACU) in Germany, and came to the conclusion that the freedom-limiting measures we are seeing taken across the globe are wildly excessive when compared with the infection rate of the pandemic.

Merkel condemns protesters' storming German parliament over COVID-19 restrictions

German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday condemned the attempt by some people to storm the country's parliament in protest against COVID-19 restrictions, terming it "shameful" and said they had abused the right to demonstrate peacefully.

Several hundred people tried to get into the Reichstag building during a rally against coronavirus rules in Berlin on Saturday.

"This right to demonstrate peacefully is of course a very valuable asset even during a pandemic," Merkel's spokesman Steffen Seibert said at a government press conference in Berlin.

However, he said their actions were "a clear abuse".

Germany to end mandatory tests for travelers, bans protests

Germany will end mandatory coronavirus tests for travelers returning from high-risk areas abroad and again focus its testing strategy on people with symptoms or possible exposure to COVID-19 patients, the country’s health minister said Wednesday.

Health Minister Jens Spahn said that over the summer vacation period the number of virus tests performed in Germany nearly doubled, to 900,000 per week, in part to identify people who caught the virus during trips abroad.

People coming home from coronavirus risk areas were offered free tests at airports, train stations and highway stops, allowing them to cut short the required two-week quarantine if their result came back negative.

German capital BANS anti-lockdown protest, condemning ‘corona deniers & right-wing extremists’

Berlin authorities have banned the upcoming protest against Covid-19 lockdown measures, saying the marches were being misused as a stage for right-wing extremists and “deniers” of the pandemic.

Organizers of the August 29 “Assembly for Freedom” in central Berlin had registered 17,000 demonstrators. The local government says police will be out in force to prevent the gathering, because participants in the previous march “deliberately broke the rules” for wearing masks and social distancing.

“We are still in the middle of a pandemic with rising infection figures,” Berlin’s interior minister Andreas Geisel told reporters on Wednesday.

“This is not a decision against freedom of assembly, but a decision in favour of infection protection,” the minister said, adding that Berlin should not be "misused as a stage for corona deniers… and right-wing extremists.”

Berlin’s Appeasement to Turkish Aggression Linked to Germany’s Plans to Become the Biggest Energy Hub in EU

The EU already has a reputation of being Germany’s “Fourth Reich” in Greece. This is the same rhetoric used by EU sceptics all across Europe, with renowned historian and journalist, Simon Heffer, writing in the Daily Mail what many Europeans were feeling during the economic crisis in previous years:

“We are witnessing […] the economic colonisation of Europe by stealth by the Germans. Once, it would have taken an invading military force to topple the leadership of a European nation. Today, it can be done through sheer economic pressure.” Heffer continues by saying that the “rise of the Fourth Reich” stems from Germany “using the financial crisis to conquer Europe” as its policies “would make Europe effectively a German empire.”

Germany warns US against imposing sanctions on Nord Stream 2, says no country has right to ‘dictate’ its energy policy

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has warned the United States not to interfere with the completion of the Russian-led Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project, stressing that Europe has the right to choose its own energy sources.

“Sanctions between partners are definitely the wrong way to go,” Maas said during a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow, adding that any attempt to prevent the pipeline from completion would be a violation of his country’s sovereignty.

Ultimately, it remains our sovereign decision where we get our energy from. No country has the right to dictate Europe's energy policy with threats. That won't be successful.

Nord Stream 2: US senators threaten German port with 'crushing' sanctions

Three Republican senators have ordered Murkan Port on the island of Rugen to stop assisting Russian vessels constructing the final sections of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

Three US senators are threatening the operators of a small German port with "crushing legal and economic sanctions" for provisioning Russian vessels assisting with constructing the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline.

The US strongly opposes the pipeline, which is owned by Russian gas company Gazprom and will carry natural gas from Russia to Germany.

In their letter,,Republican Senators Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton and Ron Johnson accuse port operator Faehrhafen Sassnitz of "knowingly providing significant goods, services, and support" for the project.

'Completely outrageous'

On Friday, German Minister of State Niels Annen said Germany "firmly rejected" the proposed sanctions, adding the tone and content of the letter were "completely outrageous."

Webmaster's Commentary:

MAJOR: Germany Awakens As Half-A-Million March Against Covid-19 Lockdown, Masks, Distancing

A large-scale rally against restrictive measures in connection with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has taken place in Berlin today, August 1st. The procession started on the boulevard Unter den Linden and moved along the central streets of the city at noon local time.

The marchers shouted energetic slogans “Show me your Smile!”, “We are loud because our freedom is being stolen!” “No to Dictatorship – we’ve seen this before!”, “Arrest Bill Gates!”

“Since the meeting at Unter den Linden was quite crowded, our colleagues strongly point to the need to maintain the necessary distance,” the press service of the Metropolitan Police wrote on Twitter.

According to their data, which are confirmed by the footage coming from the scene, practically none of those present were wearing masks. Some of the participants brought with them flags with the symbols of various federal states.

US Senators Reportedly Threaten German Port Operator With 'Financial Destruction' Over Nord Stream 2

The Nord Stream 2 project is set to carry up to 55 billion cubic meters (1.942 trillion cubic feet) of gas per year from Russia to Germany, passing through the territorial waters or exclusive economic zones of Denmark, Finland, Germany, Russia and Sweden.

US Senator Ted Cruz together with Senators Tom Cotton and Ron Johnson have threatened the management of Mukran Port in Germany, involved in the Nord Stream 2 project with “financial destruction”, if they continue their work on the venture.

In a three-page letter, obtained by Handelsblatt newspaper, the lawmakers called on Sassnitz GmbH, which operates the port, to discontinue logistical support for the project.

"If you continue to provide goods, services, and support for the Nord Stream 2 project, you will destroy the future financial survival of your company", the letter read.

Waffling while Libya burns: Libya’s problem is a security problem that requires a military solution

"Libya’s problem is a security problem that requires a military solution. In the west of the country are the Turkish-sponsored Islamist cutthroats of the Muslim Brotherhood and their crime syndicate allies, now backed by nearly 20,000 Syrian mercenaries and other Turkish-trained jihadists. In the east is the elected parliament and its armed force, the LNA, which succeeded in cleansing that part of the country of the Islamist terrorists. It should be obvious to everyone that there cannot be a political accommodation with the Islamist terrorists — the Muslim Brotherhood and its protégés — not in Libya or any other country. To reach a political accommodation with the Muslim Brotherhood is akin to asking the US White House to share power with the drugs mafia or urge Westminster to enter talks with jihadist Anjem Choudary.

Trump says US won’t protect Germany as it ‘pays Russia billions for energy’ in 1st tweet after Pentagon announces troop withdrawal

US President Donald Trump has defended his decision to pull out almost 12,000 troops from Germany by invoking its gas imports from Russia. Washington has recently ramped up its efforts to block the deliveries.

“Germany pays Russia billions of dollars a year for Energy, and we are supposed to protect Germany from Russia. What’s that all about?” Trump tweeted, shortly after Defense Secretary Mark Esper said the US would move out some 11,900 US soldiers from Germany, as opposed to the initial plan to withdraw some 9,500 personnel.

Trump has also cited the long-running row over NATO contributions, accusing Germany of failing to fork out its fair share of the costs for the military alliance.

Germany Rejects Trump Bid To Let Russia Back Into G7: 'No Chance Due To Ukraine'

For much of the past year Trump has caused angst among allies by maintaining a consistent position that Russia should be invited back into the Group of Seven (G7), making it as it was prior to 2014, the G-8.

Russia had been essentially booted from the summit as relations with the Obama White House broke down over the Ukraine crisis and the Crimea issue. Trump said in August 2019 that Obama had been "outsmarted" by Putin.

But as recently as May when Germany followed by other countries rebuffed Trump's plans to host the G7 at Camp David, Trump blasted the “very outdated group of countries” and expressed that he planned to invite four additional non-member nations, mostly notably Russia.

Germany Disbands Elite Army Unit With ‘Toxic Leadership Culture’ Amid Far-Right Sympathy UptickUS

Germany’s defense minister revealed on Wednesday that a unit of the Kommando Spezialkraefte (KSK), the country’s elite commando force, would be disbanded. The dissolution follows a report published in January revealing that hundreds of soldiers may embody far-right extremist ideologies.

On Wednesday, Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer told the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper that the KSK, an anti-terrorism and hostage rescue unit with roughly 1,300 soldiers, had created “a wall of secrecy” around itself and that the force has a “toxic leadership culture” that “cannot continue to exist in its present form,” NPR reported.

Kramp-Karrenbauer also confirmed that some of the 70 soldiers from the disbanded force would be reassigned to other combat companies while “those who made clear they are part of the problem and not part of the solution must leave the KSK," military.com reported.

Berlin politicians knowingly sent children to live with PEDOPHILES for decades, new report reveals

Berlin authorities orchestrated a crackpot scheme to place foster children into the care of known pedophiles, a new report says. Dreamed up by an infamous pederasty advocate and supported by politicians, it only ended recently.

Berlin’s Green Party called on Tuesday for an investigation into a massive child abuse scandal that saw foster children placed into the care of pedophiles for more than 30 years – all the way up to 2003. According to a new report published on Monday, the city’s educational authorities and Senate knew what was taking place, and the practice was “accepted, supported, [and] defended” by left-wing politicians and academics throughout the 1970s, 80s and 90s.

America: Too Weak to Rein in Its Own Empire

A grievous blow to international security has just been dealt. President Donald Trump has announced that American troops are to be withdrawn from…Germany. Yes, Germany. Why are American troops in Germany? Because we have to fight them over there so we don’t fight them here, you see, and there are few generators of terrorism and chaos in the world today quite like the Berlin club circuit.

The real surprise isn’t that we’re pulling troops out of Germany; it’s that they’re still there 75 years after World War II ended. And according to the White House, they aren’t even all being withdrawn, just a quarter of them, a reduction of 9,500 that will leave 25,000 American boots on German soil. And of the 9,500, a senior administration official tells Reuters that at least some will be redeployed elsewhere. Poland, with its closer proximity to Russia and plans to build a Fort Trump panderopolis, is a likely destination.

Not being racist isn’t enough, Germans must be ‘anti-racists,’ President Steinmeier insists

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has instructed his countrymen to weed out all of their subconscious bigotry, real or imagined, declaring that the nation must take up arms against racism.
In televised remarks on Tuesday, Steinmeier took a somewhat inflexible stance on how to ensure equality in Germany.

“No, it’s not enough not to be a racist. We have to be anti-racists! Racism requires taking a counter-position, counter-speech, action, criticism and – perhaps most difficult – self-criticism, self-examination,” he proclaimed.

The German president went on to pontificate that “anti-racism must be learned, practiced and lived.”

German Official Leaks Report Denouncing Corona as ‘A Global False Alarm’

Some of the report key passages are:

  • The dangerousness of Covid-19 was overestimated: probably at no point did the danger posed by the new virus go beyond the normal level.
  • The people who die from Corona are essentially those who would statistically die this year, because they have reached the end of their lives and their weakened bodies can no longer cope with any random everyday stress (including the approximately 150 viruses currently in circulation).
  • Worldwide, within a quarter of a year, there has been no more than 250,000 deaths from Covid-19, compared to 1.5 million deaths [25,100 in Germany] during the influenza wave 2017/18.
  • The danger is obviously no greater than that of many other viruses. There is no evidence that this was more than a false alarm.
  • A reproach could go along these lines: During the Corona crisis the State has proved itself as one of the biggest producers of Fake News.

German Official Leaks Report Denouncing COVID-19 As "A Global False Alarm"

Authored by Daniele Pozzati via The Strategic Culture Foundation,

Germany’s federal government and mainstream media are engaged in damage control after a report that challenges the established Corona narrative leaked from the interior ministry.

Some of the report key passages are:

The dangerousness of Covid-19 was overestimated: probably at no point did the danger posed by the new virus go beyond the normal level.

Merkel rebuffs Trump invitation to G-7 summit

The president wants a landmark event, but the German chancellor ‘cannot agree’ to travel due to ongoing pandemic.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has rebuffed Donald Trump’s invitation to attend a G-7 summit, which the president is keen to portray as a symbol of a return to normality from the upheaval of the coronavirus crisis.

"The federal chancellor thanks President Trump for his invitation to the G-7 summit at the end of June in Washington. As of today, considering the overall pandemic situation, she cannot agree to her personal participation, to a journey to Washington," German government spokesman Steffen Seibert told POLITICO on Friday.

    Webmaster's Commentary:

German Interior Minister Seehofer mulls FIFTH term for Chancellor Merkel as Covid-19 crisis boosts her popularity

The Covid-19 crisis has surprisingly turned out to be a boon for German Chancellor Angela Merkel as she regained public support. Now, Interior Minister Horst Seehofer believes a fifth term in office might not be ruled out.

Successful handling of the novel coronavirus pandemic which has allowed Germany to start the process of gradually easing quarantine rules which have been crippling its economy for quite some time has apparently boosted Merkel’s image among her fellow party members and political allies.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, who has had quite a thorny relationship with the chancellor over the last couple of years, has now floated the idea of her staying at the helm for another term. The man, who once said he “cannot work with this woman” anymore and refused to shake hands with her amid the coronavirus scare just a couple of months ago, has now given generous praise to her “strong” leadership during the epidemic.

"I Want My Life Back" - German Anti-Lockdown Protests Worsen

More than a thousand anti-quarantine protesters turned out for a rally in the German capital, Berlin, on Saturday, resulting in dozens of arrests. This is a continuation from last weekend as social decay worsens.

Saturday's protest saw mainly leftist activist but also a mix of right-wing folks. Police were armed with riot gear and weapons, posted up around Rosa Luxemburg square.

Protesters handed out flyers entitled "Democratic Resistance," which stated the COVID-19 pandemic is ushering in the surveillance state as the government seizes power by spreading fear.

Police spokesman Thilo Cablitz said the city approved an event where people were to hand out flyers and follow social distancing rules -- but it eventually transformed into a protest that got out of hand.

"During coronavirus times and according to containment regulations, we are obliged to prevent a gathering," Cablitz said.

    Webmaster's Commentary:

Governments around the world are discovering that there is a finite upper limit to which people can be pushed; many on this planet are already there.

Luckily, in this little household of two, there is no panic or mass frustration, just practicality. We are still practicing social distancing, when going out, but we are both feeling fine.

In the state of Indiana, no church services will be happening until at least the 17th of next month, but I, as are many of my brother and sister Christians, can participate in live-streaming church services, and virtual Bible classes, which is a good thing.

There we were, reading the transcript of NATO GenSec Stoltenburg’s pre-meeting presser

Then, after he had said what he wanted to say, Stoltenberg took questions via Skype and WhatsApp. Eventually, Teri Schultz from Deutsche Welle asked:

“do Allies have some responsibility in allowing Russia and China to have used that space early, to make these claims about NATO responsibility and effectiveness and the other disinformation that’s being put out right now?”

Apparently disappointed that Jens had not slammed Russia and China yet. No joy. In his reply, at some length, he did not so much as mention Russa! And Jens’ answer left the German press unsatisfied.

German state minister kills himself as coronavirus hits economy

Thomas Schaefer, the finance minister of Germany's Hesse state, has committed suicide apparently after becoming "deeply worried" over how to cope with the economic fallout from the coronavirus, state premier Volker Bouffier said on Sunday.

Schaefer, 54, was found dead near a railway track on Saturday. The Wiesbaden prosecution's office said they believe he died by suicide.

    Webmaster's Commentary:

The last note in his wikipedia bio ends with the following statement:

He was survived by his wife and two children."

"Suicide" is a polite way to characterize a process of political extermination against people who know, or say, too much, as "l'encouragement pour les autres" (Encouragement for the others) not to do this.

IF a true, forensic autopsy were to be performed, I doubt like hell that "suicide" will be named as the actual cause of his death; and were I a betting person, I would almost be willing to bet that his widow is getting one, huge pile-up of pressure, not to allow this to happen.
