Something big and unprecedented has happened in the Middle East after the assassination of one of Iran’s top commanders, Qasim Suleimani.

The Iranian response was very measured and very specific. It was purposefully intended to avoid causing U.S. casualties; it was intended more as a message of Iranian missile capabilities and their pin point accuracy. And that message was not lost on Israel.

President Donald Trump’s comment about bombing 52 cultural sights of Iran if the Iranians retaliated against the U.S. assassination by killer drone of a top Iranian military officer was walked back the Secretary of Defense Mark Esper. “The U.S. will comply with the Law of Armed conflict” which forbids the destruction of cultural sites, Esper said.

General Qassem Soleimani was killed while reportedly on a diplomatic mission to Iraq to discuss talks with Saudi Arabia.

One of the architects of the CIA's torture program for the accused Sept. 11 terrorists testified Wednesday in a Guantánamo Bay courtroom that he eventually came to believe that those torture techniques had gone too far and verged on breaking the law.

Black gun owners who turned out for Monday’s Second Amendment rally outside the Virginia capitol building Monday undermined attempts to tar the event as “white supremacist” with their presence alone.

However, a number of pro-gun protesters went further in videos taken at the rally on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. They slammed the racialized portrayal of the gathering by some authorities and journalists as inaccurate and offensive.

In one clip that has gone viral online, an unidentified man wearing a “Gun Saves Lives” sticker explains why he joined the protest, which was organized in opposition to sweeping gun control measures that could be enacted next week by Virginia’s Democratic-controlled government.

The board of Marion County Public Schools in Florida has suspended a Belleview High School teacher and student services manager over his use of medical cannabis. Mike Hickman, 50, was placed on unpaid leave after the Superintendent of Schools, Heidi Maier, recommended he be fired for testing positive for cannabinoids in early November 2019. Hickman is a registered cannabis patient under Florida’s 2016 medical cannabis law. And a physician licensed under the state’s program to recommend medical cannabis issued Hickman a recommendation for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, which is an approved condition.

Now, Hickman, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the early 1990s, is fighting for his job back—and his livelihood.

Without fail, as you look back at the false flag shootings in America or other mass shootings, there are scheduled “mass shooting training” that takes place either just prior to or on the very day of the attack. Additionally, many reports have documented where government has sought “crisis actors” in what it calls “training” ahead of these very attacks. With Lobby Day just days away in Virginia on Monday, January 20, Virginia is now seeking “actors” for an “ongoing live roleplaying project.”

On Friday, Virginia state Senator Amanda Chase issued a dire warning for those planning to attend a pro-Second Amendment rally in Richmond this coming Monday. Writing on Facebook, she indicated that Democrat Governor Ralph “Blackface” Northam, who has been pushing for extraordinary gun control measures in the state, is planning to “set up” those who attend for arrest, saying they could be held as domestic terrorists.

We hear a lot about the “do-nothing” Congress. But in fact, legislators have been on a spree of criminalizing previously legal behavior.

This was personal. Trump didn’t have Soleimani killed to stop a war, and he certainly didn’t have him killed because he had been planning an imminent attack on four US embassies. Trump, who had been thinking of killing Soleimani for the past 7 months, had Soleimani killed because he had convinced himself that Soleimani continuing to draw air was an affront to the US.

Soleimani had the best claim of anyone in the world for the architect of victory against ISIS and had likewise dulled and thwarted the US anti-Iranian agenda for the Middle East. And he was walking around as a living reminder of that and wasn’t above publicly ridiculing Trump.

I have long suspected that Donald Trump would do anything to save his political skin, and I mean anything, including murder and assassination — if threatened with impeachment, — and even commit an act of war against a foreign country. — Well, as I feared, he just did that against Iran.

Although Trump’s speech characterized Iran as a “major supporter of terrorism” and Gen. Soleimani as a “top terrorist”, his assertion that a common interest exists between the USA and Iran in the combat of ISIS is a spectacular break from the neocon agenda.

While Virginians work to block sweeping gun-control measures authored by Democratic lawmakers, Republicans down the coast in Florida are proposing some of those same anti-gun policies.

A Republican-controlled Senate committee voted unanimously on Monday to pass an omnibus bill that would restrict gun sales, ban private sellers at gun shows, impose safe storage requirements, and mandate a three-day waiting period to obtain firearms.

Ilhan Omar has been a controversial figure in her first term in office.

Another Muslim woman who is also a refugee is looking to unseat Omar, saying that Omar “spends her time in congress sowing seeds of division, actively supporting our enemies.”

Dalia al-Aqidi is running as a Republican from Minnesota to bring people together.

We wish we could say the corrupt swamp only exists in D.C. Or that we only find in on the far-left of our government.

But that’s not the case.

What we discover from time to time is that the left can bribe or force Republicans to help them out.

So-called conservative leaders sell out their principles (literally) to push anti-Constitutional bills.

They hope these kinds of actions will slip by unnoticed. That Americans won’t call them out for their schemes.

But they are wrong.

This time, a Florida Republican was pushing a radical gun-control bill. One that few conservatives could support.

David Wurmser was a longtime advocate of war with Iraq in the Bush administration. Eventually, he got what he wanted, and it was a total disaster. Now, Wurmser again has the ear of a president — this time, Donald Trump — and his sights are set firmly on Iran.

An influential neoconservative in President George W. Bush’s White House who became a significant force behind the push for war with Iraq in 2003, Wurmser has recently been serving as an informal adviser to the Trump administration, according to new reporting from Bloomberg News. In that capacity, Wurmser helped make the case for the recent drone strike that assassinated Iranian Gen. Qassim Suleimani.

Mark my words: gun control legislation, especially in the form of red flag gun laws, which allow the police to remove guns from people suspected of being threats, will only add to the government’s power.

These laws, growing in popularity as a legislative means by which to seize guns from individuals viewed as a danger to themselves or others, are yet another Trojan Horse, a stealth maneuver by the police state to gain greater power over an unsuspecting and largely gullible populace.

Seventeen states now have red flag laws on their books.

That number is growing.

Not only will Democratic Leftists face a heap of opposition to any such edict, but they’ll also have to stare down lots of firepower as well. As reported by The Truth About Guns, the number of privately-owned firearms in America is staggering — many more than most people even know.

The website noted that one of the more popular gun estimate figures in the U.S. is 300 million, coupled with 12 trillion rounds of ammunition. But another estimate, first publicized in 2017, puts the figure much higher.

Democrat legislators in Hawaii, one of the most gun-restrictive states in the nation, are calling on the United States Congress to modify or repeal the Second Amendment as part of their latest insidious attempt at overriding the God-given, constitutional right of all Americans to bear arms.

Known as Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) No. 42, the measure urges Congress “to clarify the constitutional right to bear arms,” calling into question what Hawaii Democrats have dubbed the “individual right theory.”

A new poll from Politico-Morning Consult shows the American public substantially less on board with escalatory violence against Iran than media coverage of the situation would generally lead one to believe.

The poll showed the decision to assassinate top Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani was highly controversial. Despite weeks of vilifying Soleimani, only 44% support his killing, and 38% continue to disapprove.

Instagram and its parent company Facebook are removing posts that appear to be in support of the late Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani in order to comply with U.S. sanctions, a company spokesperson recently told CNN.

“We operate under U.S. sanctions laws, including those related to the U.S. government’s designation of the IRGC and its leadership,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

The Iranian government has responded by calling for legal action against Instagram, going so far as to create a portal for the users to submit posts that have been removed by the social media giant. Iran’s government spokesperson, Ali Rabiei called the move “undemocratic.”

RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam plans to declare a temporary emergency Wednesday banning all weapons, including guns, from Capitol Square ahead of a massive rally planned next week over gun rights.

That's according to two state officials who were briefed on the plans but not authorized to speak publicly about them.

One official says the Democratic governor plans to announce the plans at a news conference Wednesday afternoon because of credible threats of potential violence and extremism.

The Trump administration has abruptly called off four classified congressional briefings for lawmakers, who were seeking explanation about contradictory statements of the White House over assassination of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.

The State Department cancelled two briefings on the Trump administration's Iran strategy at the last moment on Wednesday, CNN reported.

Another schedule for a separate closed-door session for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was also cancelled.

FBI officials had been about to brief a group of House lawmakers on counterintelligence issues, during the briefing that was added to the calendar late last week.

The Pentagon also scrapped a Thursday classified briefing on Iran.

Fearing potential violence, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam is declaring a state of emergency and is banning firearms and other weapons on the Capitol grounds in Richmond ahead of a gun rights demonstration planned for next week.

In response to what he described as “credible intelligence” of threats of violence at an upcoming gun rights rally in Richmond, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam has declared a state of emergency and will temporarily ban individuals from carrying firearms on Capitol grounds.

The governor said at a press conference Wednesday that authorities believe “armed militia groups plan to storm the Capitol” during the January 20 rally.

On the Facebook page for the rally, several attendees are already saying they won’t comply and leave their weapons at home — even though Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney has vowed a hard line on rule-breakers. “Violations of the law will not be tolerated,” Stoney said.

Many have already noticed: The US really, really doesn’t feel like the world leader, or even as a ‘first world country’. Of course, I write that sarcastically, as I detest expressions like ‘first world’, and the ‘third world’. But readers know what I mean.

The President does not become commander in chief until the army,navy and militia are called into actual service of the United States by a Congressional Declaration of War. The much-anticipated impeachment trial of US President Donald Trump is set to begin on Tuesday, January 21, according to US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

McConnell, who leads the Republican majority in the Senate, told reporters Tuesday he expected the Senate to receive articles of impeachment from the House of Representatives on Wednesday, enabling them to take preliminary steps toward beginning the trial. For example, before the trial can begin, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts must swear in senators as jurors.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on Tuesday the House would vote on advancing the two articles of impeachment to the Senate on Wednesday.

The government which runs a globe-spanning empire led by a reality TV host keeps talking about the lack of normality in the nation of Iran.

“We want Iran to simply behave like a normal nation,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a press statement the other day. “We believe that the sanctions we imposed today further that strategic objective.”

These would be the additional sanctions which have been expanded to include virtually the entire Iranian economy, deliberately targeting Iran’s already sanction-starved populace, with the explicit goal of fomenting a civil war in that nation.

Which is of course a perfectly normal thing to do, from a perfectly normal nation.
