Money, Power, and Turf: Winning the Middle East Media War at Any Cost

Of the 180 countries classified by Reporters Without Borders’ annual report on press freedom, seven Middle Eastern countries are listed at the bottom 10% category of the world’s worst violators.

In 2018, Israel, which often prides itself on being "the only democracy in the Middle East", ranked 88th, a hardly shocking realization, considering its constant targeting, killing, wounding and arresting of Palestinian journalists. The Palestinian Authority achieved an even worse rank, at 137th place. It is telling that not a single Middle Eastern country has made it to the top 30% rank.

In countries like Egypt, Libya, Syria, and Yemen, where independent monitoring of government behavior is almost entirely absent, hundreds of journalists simply disappear in the black hole of brutal prison systems – malnourished, medically neglected, and routinely tortured.

What Have the US and Protesters in Lebanon Achieved over Iran and Its Allies?

For several weeks now, much of the Lebanese population has turned on the country’s traditional political leaders and wrought havoc on the corrupt domestic political system. Those who have ruled the country for decades have offered little in the way of reforms, have paid little attention to the infrastructure, and done little or nothing to provide job opportunities outside the circle of their clients. The protestors were also driven into the street by the US measures strangling the Lebanese economy and preventing most of the 7-8 million expatriates from transferring financial support (around $8 billion per year) to their relatives back home. This is how the US administration has conducted its policy in the Middle East in its failed attempt to bring Iran and its allies to their knees.

Netanyahu, Pompeo Push Forward With US-Israel Defense Pact: Netanyahu argues he should stay in power because of deal

On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met for an hour and 45 minutes on the specifics of a proposed US-Israel defense pact. The pact amounts to a more or less direct US intervention in Israeli politics, after two elections failed to end with a government formed.

The Trump Administration had made no bones about preferring Netanyahu over his primary political rival Benny Gantz, and the pact seems to be pandering to that fact, since Gantz is opposed to the deal.

Netanyahu looks to be steering heavily into this US lifeline, arguing that the deal proves he needs to stay in power, and that in the event of a rotation government with Gantz, he’d have to be first because of his “unique” ties with the US.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Are you flipping kidding me?!?

And does Congress have to approve this in-the-works pact, or is it simply signed by President Trump, as an Executive Order?

Because if it is "President To President" and there is no Congressional oversight and approval to even begin to study its implications for the US's defense of Israel, this means that Israel can demand that US fight its wars for it in perpetuam, perpetually, beginning with a war against Iran.

Israel ‘discretionary spending’ on settlements up 50%

The Israeli government has increased discretionary spending on settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory by 50 per cent over the last two years, reported the Jerusalem Post.

According to data published by settlement watchdog Peace Now, so-called “discretionary spending” “is expenditure by various ministries outside the general budget, including from the Interior, Housing, Education, and Energy and Water ministries, as well as the National Roads Authority”.

These funds are directed towards the construction of settlement housing units, as well as for roads inside the settlements, “buildings for educational, social and religious purposes, commercial centres and industrial parks”, the report added.

Pompeo Faults Iran as ‘Common Villain’ in All Mideast Protests

But while it’s fair to say Iran is involved in the Iran protests, if not the way Pompeo presents it, and tangentially involved in Iraq, opposing the protesters, Pompeo’s attempt to tie Iran to the Lebanon protests is plainly untrue.

Lebanon’s protest of the past month has seen protesters faulting the government for its inability to handle economic struggles, and chiefly the government’s inability to reliably provide electricity across the country.

Pompeo said Lebanese protesters “want Hezbollah and Iran out of their country,” which is simply not true. Indeed, the only politician that suffered from the protest movement was Prime Minister Hariri, a long-time political rival of Hezbollah.

In all three countries, the protests have been non-sectarian in nature, and despite Pompeo’s claims to the contrary, none of them have presented their protests are at all about removing the Ayatollahs from power.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pompeo... is truly an interesting critter in the Bowels of Power in DC.

His original nomination to the CIA, then to Secretary of State, demonstrates the degree to which President Trump wants to continue to woo the Religious Right in this country.

Here's some interesting background about the man, which I believe, informs his foreign policy assessments with dread, unending wars, and the eschatology of the Rapture.

Mike Pompeo’s Religion: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

And please be aware that at a rally in 2015, to a community of Wichita’s Summit Church, he made the following statement, concluding his address: "“We will continue to fight these battles,” Pompeo vowed, adding, “it is a never-ending struggle until that moment pastor Fox spoke about, until the Rapture. Be part of it. Be in the fight.”

And here comes a story from Quartz.com, from May of last year:

Trump’s foreign policy looks a lot like Rapture Christians’ plan to welcome the apocalypse

The story goes on to state: "A new ideology in the White House
Belief in the Rapture, also known as millenarianism or eschatology, has multiple variations, but the core view is that there will an apocalyptic war, Jesus will return, and true Christians will be “raptured” or ascend to heaven, with the rest of the earth’s inhabitants punished. Rapture believers are split about the order of events, but they are united in the belief that only Christians will be saved."

President Donald Trump nominated Pompeo as secretary of state in March 2018, with Pompeo succeeding Rex Tillerson after his dismissal. Pompeo was confirmed by the Senate on April 26, 2018, in a 57–42 vote and was sworn in the same day.

So we have now have a guy as Secretary of State who believes that bringing about a massive world war, to hasten the Apocalypse and the Rapture, is a really good thing?!?

So President Trump, a word, please: when religious eschatology drives US foreign policy, which is precisely where US foreign policy appears to be headed right now, and very definitely with regard to the Middle East, it potentially puts this country, and ALL of its citizens, in a world of hurt.

Is this the reason Pompeo is desperately trying to demonize Iran?!? And make no mistake; theocracies make me terribly nervous. But is the answer to blow them to kingdom come, when Russia's diplomat assured Iranian diplomats earlier this year, that Iran will not be alone, if US Attacks, says Russian Official

I would like to politely suggest, that such a war will obliterate nearly all signs of life on earth, with no spiritual "reward" whatsoever, and the next kind-of intelligent "life form", other than humankind" may well have its day, on what is left of this planet.

Do we really want to go there, Mr. President?!?

ISRAELI GOVERNMENT TO EXPAND GLOBAL ARMS EXPORTS IN 2020

SOURCE: MIDDLE EAST MONITOR
The Israeli government is aiming to increase the volume of Israel’s defence exports, reported Globes, which has revealed the main points of the plan for the first time.

The project, being overseen by the Defence Ministry’s International Defence Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) led by Brigadier General (Res.) Yair Kulas, will begin to be rolled out in early 2020.

According to Globes, the plan is based on “focused seminars for senior commanders in foreign armies”, Israeli military “assistance for promoting sales of Israeli weapons”, and “subsidising small and medium-sized defence companies seeking to sell arms around the world”.

Speaking this week, Kulas said that SIBAT favours a major expansion of agreements between countries, resulting in significant deals for the large defence companies, especially Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Rafael Advanced Defence Systems.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me unsurprised at this development; but one has to wonder how Israeli weaponry really stands up to that of China or Russia, at this point?!?

ATMs Spitting Back Bank Cards In Lebanon As "Dollars Have Virtually Disappeared"

Though banks reopened this week in Lebanon, with the country's financial institutions remaining front and center in massive anti-government protests amid accusations of corruption and wild mismanagement, withdrawal limits have now been made official by the country's Banks Association — previously unofficially enforced.

The formal controls now include limiting withdrawals to $1,000 per week, with transfers abroad only ambiguously defined necessary for “urgent matters”.

Yet the collective panic, driven by fears patrons won't be able to retrieve their deposits from banks, has only compounded, as now The Washington Post reports “Dollars have virtually disappeared.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, this Lebanese dollar disruption, may well be only the harbinger of the "great unravelling in the MIddle East", and other countries' currencies could start to fold, like a bad set of asthmatic accordions.

Netanyahu won’t go quietly and will opt for the burning torches

YOSSI VERTER, HAARETZ, NOVEMBER 22, 2019

It was totally clear in his remarks Thursday: The embattled prime minister aims to accuse the legal system of launching a coup against him – and wait for the masses to follow his lead.

Not a smidgen of humility or regret did we hear from defendant Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday night. Israel’s first sitting prime minister to be charged with bribery, fraud and breach of trust neither bowed his head in shame nor gave any other indication of soul-searching.

Like any garden-variety criminal, he assailed the police investigators, the prosecutors and the attorney general in crude language and with boundless chutzpah. With his back to the wall, both figuratively and literally, and facing trial, maybe even prison, he gave shape to what has been written on the wall for three years now: He has no intention of going quietly and cutting his losses.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I very much agree with Vertner's assessment here, and have found some very interesting, and reasoned, reporting at Haaretz, to which I have linked before.

But it is obvious to anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together, that the Middle East is headed for more military conflict, largely because of the US's unrelenting aid and abetting of Israel's criminal behaviour against its neighbors in the region. This is, of course, illegal, per the Symington Amendment Symington Amendment, but the US government only picks and chooses what it wants to observe, and what it wants to ignore, when it comes to US foreign policy and Israel, unfortunately.

There are three separate items, coming together this week, that gravely concern me;

1. The timing of the announcement of the charges against Netanyahu, and his potential "mad-dog reaction" to them; AG announces Netanyahu to stand trial for bribery, fraud and breach of trust

2. The US government has deployed another 3,000 military personnel to Saudi Arabia US continues building troop presence in Saudi Arabia (to allegedly counter Iranian Aggression)
and:
3. Massive Iranian defense drills are being held now. IRAN HOLDS MAJOR AIR WAR GAMES AS U.S. MILITARY MOVES THROUGH TOP OIL ROUTE

This article goes on to state: "Iran has begun wide scale air defense drills, simulating a potential aerial invasion amid regional unrest and a powerful U.S. Navy warship sailed near its shores.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 98-Guardians of Velayat Sky joint exercises, Iranian Army Air Defense Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard said Thursday that the maneuvers were being held across an area of some 416,000 square kilometers—roughly the size of the U.S. state of California—mostly in the northern province of Semnan. He said his forces "will practice the toughest and most realistic combat conditions," simulating a conflict in the Persian Gulf, especially the Strait of Hormuz, the world's most important oil chokepoint."

Right now, as Americans start to gather for one of the most iconically American celebrations, Thanksgiving, I would not at all be surprised if Netanyahu's minions in the IDF, and/or Shin Beit, have decided to "cook up" a false flag, engineered to kill as many Americans as possible (as happened in the USS Liberty Affair, trying to trick the US into believing that Egypt was the culprit), or against American assets, blame it on Iran, and off we go, into a war against.... Iran, Syria, and ... Russia.

President Trump looks at both Netanyahu, the Butcher of Gaza, and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, the Butcher of Yemen as his "BFFs" in the region; particularly in the case of Netanyahu, and the laying out of these charges, nothing could be further from the truth.

Will Netanyahu exploit Trump's belief that he is a true friend, by ordering a false flag?!?

The short answer here is, Hell yes, if Netanyahu believes, even for a second, that such an horrific act is the only thing which will "save his bacon" on these corruption charges.

Please remember what a high ranking Russian official told a delegation from Iran last June: Iran ‘Won’t Be Alone’ If U.S. Attacks, Russian Official Says

Didn't read that in an American paper or blog at the time, did you?!? Of course not!! This is why people who want a real handle on the news read the foreign press in English, to get at least a clue, as to what is happening globally. Don't just trust us; get out there and decide for yourself.

But this coming week looks potentially very ugly, particularly if you live anywhere in the Middle East.

NETANYAHOO, INDICTED FOR BRIBERY, FRAUD AND BREACH OF TRUST, BECOMES MORE DANGEROUS

Source: Moon Over Alabama

The Attorney General of Israel just indicted Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu in three cases. The announcement comes at a time of political stalemate. It might help to resolve it.

Israel had two parliament elections this year which both ended in a political stalemate. Neither Prime Minister Netanyahu of the Likud Party nor Blue and White coalition leader Benny Gantz managed to form a government. Both were unable to find enough additional votes to form a coalition and to gain a majority.

Now the parliament has 21 days to find a majority. It will likely fail and a third election seems inevitable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think Moon over Alabama, has been bang spot-on with their analysis; nothing is more dangerous than a wounded animal; the same can be said for a geopolitically wounded politician, as Netanyahu is right now.

We are coming toward one of the most iconic of American celebrations next week, which is Thanksgiving Day; while most Americans are in their turkey/tryptophan-induced coma, and watching lost of sports for the long weekend, one has to wonder if the IDF and/or Shin Beit, are "cooking up" some kind of false flag, to be blamed against Iran and Syria, and off we go.....

I hope to heaven that I am absolutely wrong on this; but with Iran running defensive military drills, the US deploying 3,000 more troops to Saudi Arabia, coupled with the announcement about Netanyahu's indictments... this next week could be a very, thoroughly rough one for the world, particularly for those living anywhere in the Middle East right now.

IRAN LAUNCHES MAJOR AIR DEFENCE DRILL SIMULATING WAR IN GULF

SOURCE: MIDDLE EAST MONITOR

The Iranian armed forces today launched a major air defence drill codenamed “Guardians of Velayat’s Sky-98” in the northeastern province of Semnan, local media reported.

Air Defence Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard said yesterday that the manoeuvres were being held across an area of some 416,000 square kilometres and will simulate a conflict in the Gulf, especially over the Strait of Hormuz.

“If the enemy intends to invade, attack or even infringe on our country’s skyline, which is one of our red lines, we can deal with it,” he said.

The manoeuvres come as tensions between Iran and the United States and Saudi Arabia persist in the Gulf region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at the overt hostility against the Iranian government, and Syria, can one blame the Iranian government for doing these defensive drills?!/

The short answer is, "HELL, no!!"

Allegedly Iranian targets in Syria have been hit by Israel, right outside of Damascus last Tuesday:

Israel carries out ‘wide-scale strikes’ on Iranian forces in Syria

The Iranian leadership may be many things, but one of them is NOT stupid; they believe they know what is coming, and they are probably correct in that assessment. The question is, when.

I am also deeply concerned about the timing of the deployment of 3,000 more US troops to Saudi Arabia.

One of the most uniquely iconic American holiday is coming up next week, and that is our Thanksgiving celebration; I would't put it past Israel's IDF and/or Shin Beit, to be "cooking up" a little false flag, where Americans or American assets are hit intensely, and then off the US military goes, creating more "hot war " in Syria, and against Iran.

Russia has already been assisting Syria in battling US trained, funded, and armed Jihadis who have attempted to regime-change Syria; and please remember what the Russian government has told the Iranian government earlier this year; Iran won't be alone, if the US attacks

When a Russian official makes that kind of promise, diplomatically, you can absolutely bet that such a promise is iron-clad, in terms of Russia following through on it.

And to those who eyeball this site for all the Alphabet Soup agencies out there; (and you know who you are!! :-)); the Pentagon; State Department; and the White House, I would politely, but strongly caution this government, that an attempted decap strike against either Tehran or Damascus, would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing this country could do right now, and primarily because of Russia's war capacities we do cannot match at the moment.

We do not conscript (Russia does; Conscription in Russia)); they unfortunately have some absolutely kick-ass weapons (to which our weapons designers are frantically attempting to catch up; we don't have the manufacturing; and at a Federal Deficit of approximately $ 1 trillion dollars, and rising Explainer: What you should know about federal deficits, a war with Iran and Syria will almost inextricably mean war with Russia.

"Clients With Guns" Are Demanding Deposits From Crisis-Stricken Lebanese Banks

Here we go as predicted: the Lebanese central bank attempts to prevent a "panic mode" scramble on the part of the public to remove all deposits, and the recently imposed (unofficial) regulations geared toward staving off capital flight are predictably failing fast, per Reuters:

“Clients with guns have entered banks and security guards have been afraid to speak to them as when people are in a state like this you don’t know how people will act.”

Lebanon's private banks reopened a week ago on Friday following a two-week closure due to massive anti-government protests which created gridlock across the country's main cities, including closure of other public institutions such as schools.

The World Bank weighed in on Friday, urging leaders in Beirut to form new Cabinet within a week, citing risks to Lebanon's stability as "deeply concerning," according to the AP.

As protests rock Baghdad and Beirut, Iran digs in

As governments in Iraq and Lebanon stagger and stumble under huge waves of popular protest, powerful factions loyal to Iran are pushing to quash political upheaval which challenges Tehran’s entrenched influence in both countries.

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri has resigned and the government of Iraq’s Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi has been pushed to the brink of collapse.

Both governments have enjoyed backing from the West. But they have also relied on the support of political parties affiliated with powerful Iran-backed Shi’ite armed groups, keeping allies of Tehran in key posts.

That reflects the relentless rise of Iranian influence among Shi’ite communities across the Middle East, since Tehran formed the militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon in 1982 and after Saddam Hussein was toppled in Iraq in 2003.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to legitimately ask; to what extent is the US involved with this unrest, leading, it is hoped by the anti-Iran forces, to destabilization in Iraq; Lebanon; and ultimately, Tehran?!?

Trump Freezes Lebanon Military Aid After Israel Voiced Concerns

Amid recent statements by both Iranian and Hezbollah leaders accusing the United States of hijacking the massive anti-corruption protests which have gridlocked Lebanon for over the past two weeks, the White House has made the dramatic and unexpected move of freezing US military aid to the Lebanese Army.

The money, part of a military aid package totaling $105 million, had been approved by Congress and the State Department, and requested by the Pentagon. Interestingly, proponents of the package argued that it would allow the Lebanese Army to grow more independent, making it less cooperative with Hezbollah.

According to Reuters the aid was frozen two days following Tuesday's resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, who in a parting speech admitted he'd "reached a dead end" amid the protests which have reportedly involved one million people, or up to 25% of Lebanon's total population, and further called on "all Lebanese to protect civil peace".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ultimately, it was Winston Churchill who originally made the statement, "Never let a good crisis go to waste", echoed many years later by Rahm Emanuel, during the Clinton years.

The crisis, has been the corruption by Lebanon's government, leading to the resignation of Al-Hariri, last Tuesday.

Israel's government, and military, have collectively been itching for a reason to invade, and do a decap strike against Hezbollah, and Beirut simultaneously, creating a "regime change" to their liking.

All that is needed now, is some kind of "justification" to make this happen, and I would suggest that the timing may well be sooner rather than later; after all, the Litani River is only 5 kilometers away from the Israeli border, and the Israelis have had their eye on this resource for quite some time now.

With the current Lebanese government now in very visible meltdown from this resignation, Tel Aviv may well believe that they have their chance now to invade, and this is most probably the reason the military aid from the US was to the Lebanese military was gutted.

Hezbollah Fires Anti-Aircraft Missile At Israeli Drone Over Lebanese Airspace

A major incident has unfolded along Lebanon's southern border with Israel on Thursday involving an Israeli drone. Hours ago Lebanese media reported that Hezbollah operatives shot down an Israeli aircraft, identified as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), likely with an anti aircraft missile, specifically a MANPAD (or man-portable air-defense system).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Remember when I commented last week that nature abhors a vacuum, particularly where geopolitics are involved, and made the observation that with Harriri retiring, Israel might just hawl off and attack Lebanon?!?

This could have been a real incident, but my gut tells me that this stinks of a false flag, to be blamed on Hezbollah, as the "justification" for Israel starting a military attack against Lebanon.

Beirut Is Burning: Rebellion Against the Elites Has Commenced

Tires are burning, smoke is rising towards the sky. It is October, the 18th day of the month, the capital city of Lebanon, in the past known as the “Paris of the East”, is covered in smoke.

For years I was warning that the country governed by corrupt, indifferent elites, could not hold together, indefinitely.

For all those five years when I was calling Beirut home, things were going down the drain. Nothing was improving: almost no public transportation, electricity shortages, contaminated and erratic water supply. Periodically, garbage has been piling up along the streets and suburban roads. Once an airplane lands and the doors open, the terrible stench of garbage welcomes us, residents of Beirut, back home.

Almost everyone knew that all this could not continue like this, forever.

Leader: US, West spy services inciting unrest in regional states

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has warned that the United States and Western spy services, funded by certain reactionary countries of the region, have been fomenting turmoil and insecurity in other regional states, calling for vigilance against such enemy plots.

Ayatollah Khamenei described insecurity as “the biggest damage” a country could suffer, warning against plots being pursued by the enemies to rob regional countries of security.

The elements instigating such “dangerous hostilities” are known, said the Leader, adding that “the US and the Western intelligence services, financed by certain reactionary countries of the region, are behind such incidents.”

Lebanon’s protests look like destabilisation by proxy

Exactly two years ago, Saudi Arabia’s firebrand State Minister for Gulf Affairs, Thamer Al-Sabhan, called for “toppling Hezbollah”, promising “astonishing” developments in “the coming days”, whilst maintaining that the issue was not about bringing down the Lebanese government, despite the fact that Hezbollah forms part of it. Five days later, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, who holds dual Lebanese-Saudi citizenship, announced his “shock” resignation in a statement from the Saudi capital, Riyadh. So much for not seeking to create anarchy.

In citing his reasons for his short-lived resignation (he resumed his post after almost three weeks’ captivity in the Kingdom), Hariri cited in a televised speech Iranian interference in Lebanon, referring to Hezbollah as “Iran’s arm” and a “state within a state”. Clichéd Saudi rhetoric, no doubt dictated to him by his abductors.

Pompeo Calls on Lebanese Political Leaders to Form New Government 'to the Needs of Its Citizens'

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The Trump administration wants political leaders in Lebanon to rapidly create a new government in the wake of the resignation of the country’s prime minister, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement.

"In light of Prime Minister [Saad] Hariri’s resignation, the United States calls on Lebanon’s political leaders to urgently facilitate the formation of a new government that can build a stable, prosperous, and secure Lebanon that is responsive to the needs of its citizens," Pompeo said on Tuesday.https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=images+yemeni+children%2C+dead+or+dying+from+saudi+airstrikes&qpvt=Images%3a++Yemeni+children%2c+dead+or+dying+from+Saudi+Airstrikes&form=IGRE&first=1&cw=1129&ch=597

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is obvious, by making this statement, than Pompeo knows very little about the complexity of the Lebanese government, and how this is arranged.

How the Lebanese Government is Structured

But nature abhors a vacuum; I am just hoping (and praying) that Israel doesn't feel that "timing is perfect" for attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon, and of course, any "justification" (most probably without a shred of actual evidence) will do.

Lebanese PM Hariri submits his resignation amid ongoing anti-govt. protests

Embattled Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri has submitted his resignation as people remain on the streets across Lebanon for the thirteenth day of anti-government demonstrations against the country’s economic crisis.

“I have reached a dead end today. I will head to the Baabda Palace to submit the government's resignation to President Michel Aoun,” Hariri said as he addressed the Lebanese nation in a televised speech on Tuesday evening.

“Posts are not important; what’s important is the country's dignity and safety,” he added, calling upon people from all strata of the Lebanese society to preserve the stability and security of the country.

Hariri highlighted that he wants to make a “positive shock,” saying, “No one is bigger than his country.”

He also told Lebanese political parties that “It is our responsibility to protect Lebanon.

Under the constitution, Hariri’s cabinet would stay on in a caretaker capacity until a new government is formed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Given the timing of this resignation, I would not bet against Israel using this Lebanese crisis as "the moment" for an attempted decap strike against Beirut, claiming that Hezbollah has triumphed in this resignation, and must now be put down.

Iran Prepares For War With Israel

Israeli Prime Minister and Defense Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke on October 10, 2019, at the memorial for the fatalities of the October 1973 War, and focused on the rising Iranian threats to Israel.
He strongly hinted at the possibility of both an Israeli preemptive military strike against Iran and the specter of a major protracted regional war.

Iran Prepares For War With Israel (Part 2)
All of the recent geopolitical developments in the Middle East have not been lost in Jerusalem.
Even as Israel remained immersed in a major political crisis in the aftermath of two inconclusive parliamentary elections, the security cabinet and the defense establishment are focused on the looming Iranian threat and the specter of a major war.

The Turkish invasion of Rojava

Very interesting article. Maybe Trump and Putin should share The Nobel Peace Prize.
by Thierry Meyssan

While the international community publicly fears the brutality of the Turkish intervention in northern Syria, it unofficially welcomes this intervention as the one and only solution to bring peace to the region. The war against Syria ends with one more crime. The fate of Idleb’s foreign mercenaries, the rabid jihadists during eight years of a particularly savage and cruel war, has yet to be determined.

The international press, which has not followed the events on the ground and has been satisfied with the contradictory official statements of recent months, is astounded. All states in unison denounce the Turkish operation, including the United States, Russia, Israel, Iran and Syria, although they have all negotiated and validated it.

Protests erupt in Hezbollah's heartland of south Lebanon, despite intimidation

Under the bright sun and facing the sea, over 2,000 protesters gathered on Sunday in Sour, a coastal city in south Lebanon known in English as Tyre. The mood was cheerful, people came with friends and family, all carrying a Lebanese flag.

“The people want the fall of the regime,” they chanted to music.

Protesters are here for the fourth day in a row. Like in the rest of the country, the mobilisation started on Thursday night after the government announced it would impose a $0.20 daily tax on internet calls from apps such as WhatsApp.

Winners and Losers in the Turkish attack on the Kurds in Syria (part 3 of 3)

In the Levant, the US has dramatically failed to reach its objectives, but it has succeeded in waking Russia from its long hibernation, to challenge the US unilateral hegemony of the world and to develop new forms of alliance. Iran has also challenged the US hegemony incrementally since the 1979 “Islamic Revolution”. Iran has planned meticulously, and patiently built a chain of allies connecting different parts of the Middle East. Now, after 37 years, Iran can boast a necklace of robust allies in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Afghanistan- who are all ready, if necessary, to take up arms to defend Iran. Iran, in fact, has greatly benefited from US mistakes.

The Turkish Invasion of Kurdish-Occupied Syria

October 13, 2019

The Turkish invasion of Kurdish-controlled northern Syria has finally brought some much-needed media attention on the U.S. military presence in the war-torn country. The media reports, however, all fail to explain why U.S. troops are in Syria in the first place and the purpose of their presence.

The cover story for the U.S. presence in Syria is that it is meant to fight "Islamic State" (ISIS or ISIL) but if that were truly the case, why has the U.S. sided with Kurdish separatists rather than the government of Syria?

There is certainly no U.S. national interest in this policy. It is actually an Israeli strategy called the Yinon Plan, which was crafted in 1982 by an Israeli advisor to Ariel Sharon. The first targets of the Yinon Plan were Iraq and Syria.

Oct 16 07:44

The Yinon plan: “Greater Israel”, Syria, Iraq, and ISIS

The Zionist Plan for the Middle East, also known as the Yinon Plan, is an Israeli strategic plan to ensure Israeli regional superiority. It insists and stipulates that Israel must reconfigure its geo-political environment through the balkanization of the surrounding Arab states into smaller and weaker states.

When viewed in the current context, the war on Iraq, the 2006 war on Lebanon, the 2011 war on Libya, the ongoing war on Syria, not to mention the process of regime change in Egypt, must be understood in relation to the Zionist Plan for the Middle East. The latter consists in weakening and eventually fracturing neighboring Arab states as part of an Israeli expansionist project.

“Greater Israel” consists in an area extending from the Nile Valley to the Euphrates.

U.S. HAS SPENT SIX TRILLION DOLLARS ON WARS THAT KILLED HALF A MILLION PEOPLE SINCE 9/11, REPORT SAYS

The United States has spent nearly $6 trillion on wars that directly contributed to the deaths of around 500,000 peoplesince the 9/11 attacks of 2001.

Brown University's Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs published its annual "Costs of War" report Wednesday.

The final count revealed, "The United States has appropriated and is obligated to spend an estimated $5.9 trillion (in current dollars) on the war on terror through Fiscal Year 2019, including direct war and war-related spending and obligations for future spending on post 9/11 war veterans."

Axis of Resistance. The West and its Allies Support al Qaeda and ISIS Globally

The real Axis of Evil consists of Washington-led NATO and its allies. The magnitude of the human and environmental catastrophe is unimaginable in scope. Western governments and their agencies send strong delusion to North Americans, who remain largely ignorant to the reality of the catastrophe being committed in their names.

The Western War Of Terror, to which our governments remain committed, loots public treasuries to commit and sustain an overseas holocaust, wherein the West and its agencies support, command and control the very same terrorism that they proclaim to be fighting.

David Icke: Who Did 9/11 and Why? Part One of a Two-Part Interview

David Icke’s new book The Trigger really triggers some people…like The Washington Post‘s passive-aggressive book reviewer Ron Charles, who brags, shedding crocodile tears all the while: “I banned a book. Or at least I helped get it banned, which makes Banned Books Week a little awkward for me this year.”

If Icke is such a nut, and The Trigger is just “harebrained word vomit,” why would anyone—least of all a Washington Post book reviewer who pretends to hate censorship—feel the need to have it banned? The likely answer, of course, is that Charles knows or suspects, consciously or unconsciously, that Israel was behind 9/11.(1)

And why wouldn’t he? Even the most naive and cursory observer of 21st century geopolitics can see that Israel was the biggest beneficiary of 9/11, which brainwashed the whole world to hate Israel’s Muslim enemies, and hijacked the American military to attack and/or destroy nations that Israel considered a threat.

IRGC Chief Commander Warns Israel to Be Wiped Off Political Maps If It Wages New War

A senior Iranian military commander hailed the country’s deterrence system as one that has helped keep enemies at bay and offset economic pressures exerted on the Islamic Republic by the US and its allies over the past year.

The chief commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has cautioned Israel against waging a new war, saying any such “mistake” would lead to annihilation.

To prove the point, Major General Hossein Salami, when taking the floor at a meeting of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei with senior commanders of the IRGC on Wednesday, stressed that Tel Aviv is no longer viewed as a threat due to an upgrade in his country’s deterrence capacity.

“Any new war will lead to the total disappearance of this regime from the world’s political geography”, he uttered, adding that Israel is well aware any small mistake “will be its last”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

General Salami, a word, please: this rhetoric is absolutely not helping with any ratcheting down of tensions, which should be your and your Israeli counterpart's most vital mission right now.

I would like to hope that the above-made speech was engineered far more for domestic consumption rather than international consumption.

Yes, the world understands that Iran, like Israel, has some very intense, complex, and highly effective weaons.

But General, you and I both understand that all it is going to take, may well be just one stupid miscalculation, or one small screw-up by the chain of command on either side, to send this world down a path to World War III.

I have seen images of you on-line, and would possibly imagine that you have a grand-child, or grand-children by this time in your life; perhaps, so does your Israeli counterpart.

Peace is a hard choice, when so many batty people in power, are screaming for war; but I am asking both you, and your Israeli counterpart, to make that hard choice, to insure a peaceful future not only for your families' children; but also, for all children on this earth.

Trump Administration Reignites War Against Syria

The neocons are not about to give up and admit defeat. Due primarily to Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah, the presence of the Islamic State is now considerably reduced in Syria.

This is, of course, unacceptable for the neocons and Trump’s State Department, so last week Sec. State Pompeo accused Syria once again of using chemical weapons.

There is no evidence this incident occurred. This is the case with all of the supposed chemical attacks in Syria.

From The Guardian, May 22, 2019.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So what is the White House's next step in this flummoxed, fluster-cluck of an accusation?!?

And to all people familiar with how this stuff works out there, who are also Rivero's Rangers; IF this actual attack happened last May, how reasonably long, please, before an incontrovertible verdict to come back as to whether, or whether this was not a use of chemical weapons?!?

So is DC going to decree that all Iranian ships be interdicted in the High Seas, for fear of carrying their oil to some other part of the world?!?

And would such action not be tantamount to a declaration of war against both Syria and Iran?!?

Folks, this is absolute madness, writ large.

Saudi leaders sent messages to Iran's president: Spokesman

The spokesman for Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's administration has confirmed that Saudi leaders have been sending messages to Iran's president through a head of state, though refraining to give any details on the nature of those messages.

Ali Rabiei made the remarks during his weekly press briefing in Tehran on Monday, when he was asked about reports denoting that the Saudi leadership has been sending messages to Iran's chief executive.

“Yes, this is true that they have sent messages to Mr. Rouhani through a head of state,” Rabiei noted, adding, “We must see signs of it [Saudi’s goodwill] without any ambiguity, and the first sign of it is to stop the aggression against Yemen and put an end to the massacre of Yemenis.”

in his interview with 60 Minutes, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman tried to do some damage control on the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi, and the ongoing war in Yemen. The focus ultimately was brought back to the Saudis’ favorite topic, Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The above bit comes from the Iranian blog, Presstv.com, making it appear that the Houth military triumphs in Saudi Arabia, are giving that country a reason to begin to attempt to open some kind of dialogue their Iranian counterparts in Tehran, something which would hardly been imaginable, as a possible step, even a month ago.

Unfortunately, the piece in antiwar.com, would have the world think the opposite, and is titled: Saudi Prince Warns of Escalation With Iran, Higher Oil Prices<

The problem for this battered, recycled threat to become resurgent, is that Iran hasn't really done anything wrong, other that refuse to sell their oil in US dollars.

And it did, until very recently honor the P5+1 deal, until, of course, the US government reneged on it earlier this year, as a personal favor from President Trump to Israel's Prime Minister, Netanyahu, and to his most prolific US suporter, Sheldon Adelson.

The Houthi timing on this attack, was nothing less than brilliant, even if that brilliance might well be chalked up to " amazing unexpectedly good timing" on the Houthi's part, relative to what is happening in the US geopolitical-grinder: because here you have Saudi Arabia's BFF in the Middle East, the ruler of the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, chokingly caught up in the throes of yet another impeachment "wang-dangorama", this time concerning Ukraine, and American Pols on both sides of the isle, terrified that they will lose their "seat at the public trough.

I have not yet heard one note from those alleged "Congressional Representatives on this issue, as they are so completely focused on not getting impeached, or charged, that suddenly, it appears that Iran and Saudi Arabia are suddenly, and absolutely, on their own here.

Unless President Trump is thoroughly ready to create some very bold actions
to prevent this from escalating into a fell-scale war (unless that is the absolute goal of bringing Iran down,, that will be precisely what he will be getting; and with the added caveat, that Russia will not allow Iran to go down in flames, if there is something they can do to prevent it.

Mr. President, please; War with Iran, over Yemen?!?

And just one final question, sir; when will the US government be ready to declare a draft, which will be horrifically necessary, if we declare war against Iran?!? The above bit comes from the Iranian blog, Presstv.com, making it appear that the Houth military triumphs in Saudi Arabia, are giving that country a reason to begin to attempt to open some kind of dialogue their Iranian counterparts in Tehran, something which would hardly been imaginable, as a possible step, even a month ago.

Unless President Trump is thoroughly ready to create some very bold actions
to prevent this from escalating into a full-scale war, that will be precisely what he will be getting; and with the added caveat, that Russia will not allow Iran to go down in flames, if there is something they can do to prevent it.

With Biden and Trump in the political fight for their lives, I would like both of them to remember a phrase from both physics and politics; "nature abhors a vacuum"; so what happens now if the Saudis are militarily defeated by those Houthi forces, who were " held in so low in esteem" they weren't worthy of any consideration whatsoever, just a couple of months ago, but have become really formidable and capable fighters as well as diplomats?!?

Perhaps now, might be a time for intelligent, fresh thinking on this issue, that does not get the US military dragged down into another sucking, sinkhole of another protracted war.

Saudis Threaten Iran on Behalf of the USFM says US patience 'not inexhaustible'

While President Trump has said that the US is not interested in a war with Iran, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Adel al-Jubeir, took to a UN meeting to suggest that US military options are still being considered.

While it seems a bit presumptive for the Saudi FM to decide to speak to US policy, his comments that US patience is “not inexhaustible” seems to be directed both at threatening Iran, and at trying to get the rest of the world on board with the conflict.

Al-Jubeir says that the UN report on the attack will be available soon, and that there is a whole list of options, including military options, still being considered, with him wanting to mobilize international support for what is to come.

HOLES IN US BURNING SAUDI OIL FIELDS NARRATIVE COULD SPARK WAR WITH IRAN

Published: September 24, 2019

SOURCE: MINT PRESS
Tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran are escalating to new heights, drawing the United States into a confrontation with the Islamic Republic after a sophisticated attack targeted Saudi Arabia’s Aramco oil facility — the largest oil processing facility in the world — knocking out half of the country’s oil capacity, or more than 5 million barrels a day, and leaving the oil fields in flames.

The attack was nothing the Kingdom had seen before or expected: According to U.S. and Saudi intel, 18 drones and seven cruise missiles were launched and went undetected by both American and Saudi radar systems. The weaponry even went unnoticed by the U.S. military base nearby, the Prince Sultan Airbase, which is guarded by an American Patriot missile defense system and over 500 U.S. military personnel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I, personally, would like to go back to Russia's suggestion at the UN, that time be taken for a full, clear, and that an impartial group of forensic scientists, with no axe to grind, collectively, be brought together immediately, to determine cause and the perpetrator.

Because what the US and Saudi government are trying to do, at least from my perspective, is run with the accusation that Iran did this, attempt to control the narrative, and declare Iran the bad guy.

In this instance, taking time to analyze what has happened, with credible forensics, is absolutely the more wise course of action, whereas clumsy haste, could definitely engender World War III.

Long Range Attack On Saudi Oil Field Ends War On Yemen

The drones and missiles the Houthi use are copies of Iranian designs assembled in Yemen with the help of Hizbullah experts from Lebanon. Four days ago a Houthi delegation visited Iran. During the visit Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for the first time publicly admitted that the Houthi have Iran's support:

"I declare my support for the resistance of Yemen's believing men and women ... Yemen’s people... will establish a strong government," state TV quoted Khamenei as saying in a meeting with the visiting chief negotiator of the Houthi movement Mohammed Abdul-Salam.

Pentagon to Present Trump, Aides With a ‘Range’ of Iran Military Options

Though President Trump has downplayed the idea of war with Iran over the past couple of days, the actual decision is to be made at a high-profile meeting, either Thursday or Friday depending according to reports.

Trump will be joined by a number of national security officials and other aides, and will be presented with a wide array of options by the Pentagon. Options are said to range from full-scale war to a simple cyberattack.

Gen. Joe Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was very clear about the Pentagon not pushing any specific agenda on this matter, saying the response would be purely a “political judgement.”

Among Trump’s officials, Pompeo is seen as the one pushing hardest for a military response. He’s been in Saudi Arabia meeting with officials there, and probably will come back all the more hawkish.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The overnights of the last polls on this issue, showed that only 13% of Americans believed that an attack against Iran was the right thing to do.

Of course, these attacks happened at around 4 AM in the morning, when most probably the least amount of personnel were tending to these buildings; but were I a betting person, I would not bet against another Houthi attack, or an Israeli false flag.

At that point, the presstitutes will definitely be using the banner "This is the Saudi's Pearl Harbor moment!!!!!"

I sincerely hope that the American people, who have been at war over 20 years, with nothing terribly substantial having been won for them, will continue to be skeptical and demand the facts.

Because logic and facts are the only things which may, with enough energy applied to them, be the only things holding this country back from initiating a Third World War.

Netanyahu Risks Triggering an Unwinnable War to Avoid Losing Election

Every Israeli prime minister – not least Benjamin Netanyahu – understands that a military entanglement with Hezbollah, Lebanon’s armed Shia movement on Israel’s northern border, is a dangerous wager, especially during an election campaign.

It was Shimon Peres who lost to Netanyahu in 1996, weeks after the former prime minister had incensed Israel’s Palestinian minority – a fifth of the population – by savagely attacking Lebanon in a futile bid to improve his military, and electoral, standing.

FM: Israel to continue targeting Iran, Hezbollah

Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz said yesterday that Tel Aviv will continue targeting Iran and Hezbollah, local news site Arutz Sheva reported.

“Iran is advancing regional terror and we are working to foil it everywhere possible. In order to do that, we need to remove Iran’s legitimacy, and that’s what the prime minister did,” Katz said, referring to Benjamin Netanyahu revealing details of secret Iranian nuclear sites.

“We will continue to fight Iran and Hezbollah, even if it is not comfortable for [Blue and White leader MK] Yair Lapid and his friends,” he added.

He continued: “Lapid supported Hezbollah when he claimed that Israel was responsible for Hezbollah’s attacks.”

Netanyahu Fighting for His Political Life

New elections were called after Netanyahu failed to cobble together enough support for reelection as prime minister. He remains interim PM.

On September 17, Israelis go to the polls again to elect a prime minister and Knesset members.

Ten parties are competing for seats. Polls show Netanyahu-led Likud and Benny Gantz/Yair Lapid’s Blue and White party are each projected to win 31 of 120 Knesset seats, according to polls.

Throughout Jewish state history, Israeli coalitions governed, no single party ever winning a majority on its own.

Today extremist right-wing parties dominate Israel’s political landscape, reflecting hardline rule, democracy pure fantasy as in the West.

Netanyahu is desperate to retain power ahead of an October pre-indictment hearing on bribery, fraud, and breach of trust charges, strong evidence against him.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder; Netanyahu has exactly 8 days in which to create some kind of war which might, under some circumstances, possibly postpone the elections until he feels he has a "safe majority" of coalitions which will protect him, or create an all-out war against Gaza, Iran, and Lebanon, hoping he looks "butch enough" to win the next elections.

However, the Israeli price in blood and money spent for such operations, looks terribly steep, from where I sit; I would respectfully and sincerely caution Prime Minister Netanyahu not take this road. Your people are emotionally exhausted by the steady diet of fear and anger, when there are so many other options which could be pursued, in the name of peace, and prosperity, for both Israel, and all other neighboring countries in the region.

Hezbollah Shoots Down Israeli Surveillance Drone Over South Lebanon

Two weeks after the first significant Israel-Hezbollah exchange of fire since the 2006 war, Hezbollah announced Monday it has downed another Israeli drone in southern Lebanon, The Washington Post reports.

A Hezbollah media statement said the group had "confronted" the Israel drone with "appropriate weapons" near the southern town of Ramiyeh, indicating the small drone was shot down. The paramilitary group now has the drone in its possession.

However, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) denied its surveillance drone was shot down, only saying it had crashed in the pre-dawn hours of Monday morning. The IDF affirmed it had been conducting a reconnaissance mission in the area.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that Hezbollah is gaining quite a large degree of sophistication in terms of taking out Israeli drones; one has to wonder just what Israel's next move here will be, because they have always stated that their military superiority over Hezbollah cannot be overcome.

It appears that Hezbollah... has proven Israel wrong.

Israel Launches Unprovoked Attacks: Uses Its Firepower, Far And Wide

Israel recently has been expanding its military attacks across much of the Middle East, hitting multiple countries. The aggressive campaign far outpaces anything any adversaries of Israel have been doing to it, or even trying unsuccessfully to do to it. Over the past two years Israel has used combat aircraft to conduct scores of attacks in Syria. Israel has stayed silent about most of this campaign of bombardment, but when it speaks it says the targets it hits are associated with Iran. The most recent widening of Israel's assaults have involved Lebanon, including drone attacks on facilities in suburban Beirut associated with Hezbollah ... The most dramatic geographic widening of the Israeli assault came last month with multiple attacks, reportedly conducted with F-35s, in Iraq - which, of course, does not even border Israel.

Lebanon's President Announces Israeli Attacks Are "Declaration Of War

After pro-Iran allies in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq were all hit in suspected Israeli strikes in the space of less than 24 hours, signalling a new aggression out of Tel Aviv and willingness to risk yet another major Middle East war, Arab capitals are now alerting their armed forces to be on a war footing.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Monday condemned the "Israeli assault on the southern suburbs of Beirut" and told the country's United Nations Special Coordinator, that the recent spate of drone strikes on Lebanon amount to a "declaration of war".

Webmaster's Commentary:

One had to be living under a rock, not to have seen this coming.

And the timing, in terms of Israeli elections, couldn't possibly be more transparent. As we understand, the next Israeli elections will happen as follows:
Israeli Elections will happen on 17 September, 2019, and all 120 Knesset seats are "up for grabs".

That's a whole 24 days from today, folks.

I'm almost surprised that Netanyahu didn't order Israeli media to livestream these attacks, with a heavy rock beat in the background, so the Israeli people would just fall on their knees in admiration of how "butch" he and the Israeli military are, and then loop them, with nothing else allowed to be shown on Israeli media, prior to September's election.

And I also have to wonder; was President Trump advised of these attacks beforehand; or only when they were already a "fait accompli"?!?

It very clearly appears that this hubristic megalomaniac, is perfectly comfortable in starting a regional, or world war, just to save his backside as Prime Minister.

People are generally reluctant to change leadership, in the middle of a shooting war, and that is the general reality, upon which Netanyahu is betting right now.

And do not think, for one millisecond, as the 2020 US campaign lurches forward, and devolves from Russiagate to "Racistgate", that President Trump, and the US will not be called upon to defend the allegedly "only democracy in the Middle East".

This is, of course, an absolute crock of codswallop, for those who unthinkingly wish to swallow it whole.

SECRETIVE WARFARE TRAINING BEING STAGED IN 21 NORTH CAROLINA COUNTIES, ARMY SAYS

SOURCE: WBTV.COM
NORTH CAROLINA (Mark Price/Charlotte Observer) - A series of Special Forces military training exercises -- including gunfire with blanks -- is being staged across 21 North Carolina counties starting Aug. 30, and the Army is telling the public not to be alarmed at the suspicious-looking activity.

Known as Robin Sage training, the unconventional warfare exercises can be likened to live-action role playing in the extreme, with hostile engagement playing out between Special Forces students, volunteer civilians and soldiers out of Fort Bragg. It continues through Sept. 12, said a press release.

Heavily populated counties like Wake, Cumberland and Union counties are among training sites, according to the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center at Fort Bragg.

The students will match wits with more seasoned soldiers, who will “act as realistic opposing forces and guerrilla freedom fighters,” officials said in a release.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is pretty obvious, considering the urban nature of such training, that these exercises are leading up to some kind of decap strikes in the very near future; one has to wonder...against whom, and what hostile urban area, is the US's next "target"!?!?!?

I would politely suggest, that such a target is also in Israel's crosshairs, because at this moment in time, President Trump will not sneeze, unless he has permission to do so, from Tel Aviv.

Hell, President Trump has already been informed that Israel will be targeting alleged "Iranian forces" in Iraq; so color him impotent to prevent any Israeli military mischief in Syria; Lebanon; or Iran.

And since these countries have been on Israel's "to do" list for the longest time, please consider that it may be any one of these countries for which the US military is preparing to decap strike next.

However, there is one issue which I strongly urge the US government to consider, particularly in the case of Iran, which has had a close ongoing relationship with Russia for some time. The following statement was made by a senior Russian official, during a diplomatic session:

Iran will not be alone, if the US attacks

The article goes on to state: “Iran will withstand this type of fight and Iran is not alone,” Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, said at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow."

War with Russia?!? Over...Iran?!? Folks, this is precisely the scenario at which we are looking, should the US government order a decap strike against Tehran.

Israel’s Scheme to Bury the Nakba. “The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine”

Israel’s 1947-48 Nakba against the Palestinian people was and remains one of history’s great crimes. Establishment of the Jewish state came at the expense of the Palestinian people, their descendants and refugee population.
The final master plan’s goal aimed to create a state with maximum Jews and minimum Arabs — by any means, including mass murder of defenseless people.
Note: Yes the Jewish nation of Israel committed mass murder and continues to murder, beat, torture, destroy with the aid of the United States of America. Yes we must be careful not to be anti-semetic! Don't forget the holocau$t soap made from Jewish bodies, lampshades from Jewish skin.

Lebanon accuses Israel of threatening civilian infrastructure

Lebanon accused Israel on Tuesday of threatening its civilian infrastructure after Israel told the United Nations Security Council that Iran was exploiting the Port of Beirut to smuggle weapons to the Hezbollah movement, reports Reuters.

Lebanon Will Pay ‘Heavy Price’ in New Hezbollah-Israel War, IDF Warns

Israel and Hezbollah have not engaged in an outright military confrontation since the 34-day devastating war in the summer of 2006, but a fresh conflict is possible, with regional tensions running high.

Maj-Gen. Amir Baram, the head of the Israeli Defence Forces’ (IDF) Northern Command, has warned that Lebanon would pay a heavy price in case of a new armed conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

“We will continue to act to thwart its [Hezbollah’s] efforts to threaten our security, covertly and overtly as required, and if war is imposed on us, we will exact a heavy price from this organisation and those who give it backing, wherever necessary,” the military commander said on Tuesday at a memorial dedicated to the 13th anniversary of the 2006 Lebanon War.

THE MOST CRUCIAL PIPELINE OF THE MIDDLE EAST?

SOURCE: OIL PRICE

Contemporary Middle Eastern history is strongly influenced by energy politics. Besides providing revenue for the state’s coffers, oil is also a potent geopolitical tool in the hands of resource-rich countries. Recently, officials from Lebanon, Syria and Iraq have engaged in talks to restart the dysfunctional pipeline that once connected oilfields near Kirkuk in Iraq with the coastal city of Tripoli in Lebanon. Restarting the pipeline could have long-term political, economic, and strategic consequences for the involved states and the wider region.

Several heavy explosions occurred early on Sunday in the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, a number of media reports say. The reports, citing eyewitnesses, further suggested that American and French warplanes have been seen flying over the port at the time of the incident.

The government of Fujairah denied on Sunday media reports about several heavy explosions taking place at the emirate's port, insisting that the port is functioning as usual.

"The press service of the Fujairah government denied media reports about powerful explosions in the emirate's port earlier this day and confirmed that ship traffic is as usual," the state-run WAM news agency reports.

Lebanon won’t survive with Palestine, Syria refugees, says Aoun

Lebanon would never survive if half a million Palestinian refugees and 1.6 million Syrian refugees remained in the country, the Lebanese president, Michel Aoun, said yesterday.

Aoun remarks came during a meeting held at the presidential palace in the Lebanese capital of Beirut with a delegation from the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), headed by its secretary general Souraya Bechealany.

Aoun called on the MECC to help the Lebanese government resolve the Syrians refugees’ issue “by persuading Western countries to accept the refugees return to their countries as soon as possible.”

Russia expands ties in Lebanon’s oil, gas sector

BEIRUT — During a Middle East tour last month, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo focused primarily on Iran’s influence in the region, but on Mar. 20 in Jerusalem he also labeled Russia an adversary of US regional allies in addition to Iran and China when speaking about energy and security in the eastern Mediterranean. “Revisionist powers like Iran and Russia and China are all trying to take major footholds in the East and in the West,” Pompeo said, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leaders of Greece and Cyprus.

Nasrallah Says Hezbollah Able to Crush Israeli Troops in Case of Lebanon Attack

The Lebanese-based Hezbollah militant group has sufficient resources to enter Israel’s border region of Galilee and "destroy" Israeli forces in case if the IDF attacks Lebanon, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said.

"The resistance has many strong and decisive means. The time for a quick war is over. The resistance is capable of entering Galilee… That part of Israel that thinks about intervention in Lebanon will be destroyed and crushed," Nasrallah said live on the Al-Manar TV channel on Thursday.

New York Times apologizes again for 'offensive' Trump, Netanyahu cartoon that 'included anti-Semitic tropes'

View image on Twitter

New York Times Opinion

We apologize for the anti-Semitic cartoon we published. Here’s our statement.

"We are deeply sorry for the publication of an anti-Semitic political cartoon last Thursday in the print edition of The New York Times that circulates outside of the United States, and we are committed to making sure nothing like this happens again," the opinion section tweeted Sunday.

"Such imagery is always dangerous, and at a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise worldwide, it's all the more unacceptable," continued the apology, which was widely shared on Twitter.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the editorial staff of the NYT:

Dear all; yes, I understand why you apologised.

But having said that, is there any place at your table, where one can objectively talk about what is really happening between the US and Israel, under President Trump's watch, where sheer logic could never be construed as being "anti-Semitic?!?

Fact: Israel is the largest recipient of US foreign aid.

US Foreign Aid to Israel

the article goes on to state:

This report provides an overview of U.S. foreign assistance to Israel. It includes a review of past
aid programs, data on annual assistance, and analysis of current issues. For general information
on Israel, see CRS Report RL33476, Israel: Background and U.S. Relations, by Jim Zanotti.
Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign assistance since World War II. To date,
the United States has provided Israel $134.7 billion (current, or noninflation-adjusted, dollars) in
bilateral assistance and missile defense funding. Almost all U.S. bilateral aid to Israel is in the
form of military assistance, although in the past Israel also received significant economic
assistance.
At a signing ceremony at the State Department on September 14, 2016, representatives of the
U.S. and Israeli governments signed a new 10-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on
military aid covering FY2019 to FY2028. Under the terms of the MOU, the United States pledges
to provide $38 billion in military aid ($33 billion in Foreign Military Financing grants plus
$5 billion in missile defense appropriations) to Israel. This MOU replaces a previous $30 billion
10-year agreement, which runs through FY2018.
Israel is the first international operator of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the Department of
Defense’s fifth-generation stealth aircraft, considered to be the most technologically advanced
fighter jet ever made. To date, Israel has purchased 50 F-35s in three separate contracts.

With all that money spent, one would think that Israel would be doing everything possible to keep relationships with its neighboring countries stable, and at least, show a little bit of gratitude in that manner to the US government.

Fact: Israel has a real difficulty with "getting along" with most of its neighbors, particularly if they have oil (like Iran), or water(as does Lebanon), and its politicians are consistently screaming at the US to "do something" about their allegedly impossible neighbors, before they "go it alone." (which will only happen when pigs discover they are aerodynamic).

Fact: when Sheldon Adelson gave President Trump all those millions to get elected Adelson reportedly watch the election with Trump, President Trump understood what the quid pro quo was; to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel (which he did), and second, create a "Middle East Deal" which offered no "right of return" for the Palestinians. The first demand, Netanyahu got; and our current understanding is that Jared Kushner, Trump's son in law, is working on that "deal" for mid-East Peace.

Fact: were I living in Iran right now, I would be very nervous, as President Trump has declared "no waivers" would continue past 2 May for countries which had been buying Iranian oil, in order to attempt to destroy Iran's economy. This includes China, and all the other countries which may not pay attention to Trump's demand. We now have two US carriers in the Mediterranean Sea, allegedly to insure Russia "gets the message" of "no interference" 2 US Navy aircraft carriers are making a statement in the Mediterranean Sea.Color me very nervous about what lengths the US is willing to go, to make that happen.

Fact: if I lived in Syria right now, I would be more than a little bit nervous, because the White House and Pentagon have decided to leave troops here, and there is no definitive pullout schedule which has been released. US keeping +/- 200 troops in Syria.Thinking people have to ask, "Why?!? IS there going to be an attempted "de-cap strike" against Damascus, understanding that Russia's Putin has given Al Assad all the military "muscle power" it needed to have substantially, and pretty successfully, beaten back the (US Trained & funded) jihadis?!?

Fact: were I a Gazan Palestinian right now, I would be very nervous about the lengths Israel is willing to go, to achieve a complete exodus of the Palestinian people (to where, I cannot tell you, because neighboring countries are overflowing with refugees, and cannot take any more), and claim Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, as solely Israeli.

As an American who cares about her country, I am very concerned about the dangerous territory to which the US/Israeli relationship is taking this country. Does it ever concern you, BTW, that the two Middle Eastern men by whom President Trump seems to be so thoroughly fascinated, are the two butchers in the Middle East, Prince bin Salman, the Butcher of Yemen, and Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Butcher of Gaza?!? And please don't tell me, that in this man's "heart of hearts", he hopes for a just and lasting peace between the Israelis and Palestinians; because with everything he has done, in his numerous terms as PM, he has done the polar opposite of attempting to create peace. He doesn't use the word "extermination" when talking about the Palestinians in Gaza, because he knows that the optics would be terrible; but some of his more rabid followers would have absolutely no problem with this.

I cannot foretell where these relationships is taking this country, but I can tell you this; something wicked this way comes.

And were I a betting woman, I would bet that Israel is pushing the US as hard as it thinks it can, to declare the devolution of the US's ongoing economic war in the region into a shooting war against all of its alleged existential enemies; we're talking about a war with Syria (which would, again, most likely include a war with Russia if not Russia and China); war against Iran (which will most likely, involve war with Russia and China)

To the Editors of the NYT, I have just expressed my fact-based opinion on what is going to happen here, and I am hoping that I am dead-wrong; but I have a very clear understanding of what Israel did to the USS Liberty, and then tried to "fake it" by wrongly accusing Egypt of the attack.

"False flag attacks" by both the Israeli and US military, are a common stock-in-trade they both use.

And if you have any members of your families serving the US militarily, please, as best you can, pray for them; because if what I see coming does come to pass, they -and their commanders, and the collective members of the US government - will need it. And I say this because, at this point in the the US's military history, they do not have the money, the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the weaponry to create a successful outcome to a war against either Russia and/or China.

Lebanon Threatens to Strike Israeli Airport if Military Conflict Erupts - Report

The Lebanese defence minister ruled out the possibility of military conflict with Tel Aviv in the near future, however.

Lebanon's Defence Minister Elias Bou Saab has warned that the Lebanese Air Force will strike Israel's Ben Gurion airport in the event of a military conflict between the two states, the Jerusalem Post reported, citing Hezbollah's al-Manar news site.

Speaking during his tour to the southern part of the country, the minister promised Beirut will react symmetrically to Tel Aviv's military actions.

"If Israel bombards our airport, we will bombard its airport; if it strikes our oil facilities, we will strike its oil facilities," he was quoted as saying by al-Manar.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, this is true, it appears to come right out the CIA playbook, and the pattern is painfully clear; demonize the existing government; create regime change; replace that regime with one which is US-centric; and make sure that the assets which the US wants to expropriate are only sold by US-centric companies, and that they are only allowed to be paid for in the US dollar.

Wash; rinse; repeat.

IF true, color me completely unsurprised by this development.

US Recognition of Golan Heights Annexation Is Trump's Gift to Netanyahu before Election

He also said the recognition of the Golan Heights as Israeli is just the latest in this series of gifts.

Hassan Nasrallah: US Sanctions against Hezbollah are Last Resort, Resistance Axis Triumphs

The US sanctions and financial siege that we currently experience, along with being added to the list of terrorist organizations, and lately, the British decision to add Hezbollah’s political wing to their own list of terrorist groups, and the consequences of all these measures – because in the past, they have already added our military branch, as they say, on the list of terrorist organizations, and a few days ago, they added the political branch, according to their (purely artificial) distinctions… In this respect, when we speak of US sanctions, we should expect them to become even more severe, both against those who support us and against us, that is to say against the Islamic Republic of Iran, against Syria, and against all Resistance movements and the Resistance Axis, and against us (Hezbollah).

Top US General Denies Plans to Leave 1,000 Troops in Syria

US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joe Dunford issued a statement Monday denying weekend media reports that the US plans to leave around 1,000 troops in Syria, saying the reports are “factually incorrect.”

Dunford presented the current planned “residual force” as 200, saying that this hadn’t changed since February. The US announced 200 would stay on February 21, but on February 22 officially increased that number to 400.

It’s not clear from Dunford’s statement where the “incorrect” aspect of the new report, which came out of a Wall Street Journal, exists. That report suggested that the 1,000 figure was not yet finalized, but was being discussed. Dunford’s comments didn’t include any details on what is actually being discussed, but just that nothing was finalized.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think the multiple troop numbers being given, are simply a way of creating confusion about how many US troops the US does have in Syria.

Lebanon is readying to receive US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo this week in his first ever visit at a time when the Lebanese economic-political map is being redrawn and while Lebanon is suffering its most serious economic downturn in recent history.

“We did it to mislead the other side,” Ya’alon told the Army Radio. “There is an exaggeration in the way it [the operation] was presented, and I hope that does not hurt us,” he added.
