US Deploys "Mini-Nuke" In Deplorable Threat To World Peace

Via The Strategic Culture Foundation,

The Pentagon confirmed this week that it has, for the first time, armed some of its submarines with long-range nuclear missiles which have a lower destructive power compared with existing warheads. These so-called “mini-nukes” represent – despite the diminutive-sounding name – an increased risk of nuclear war.

The newly deployed W76-2 warhead fitted to the Trident missile system is reported to have an explosive yield of five kilotons, or about 1 per cent of the existing W76-1 weapon. The supposed lower-yield weapon is nevertheless an instrument of immense mass destruction, equivalent to approximately a third of the power of the bomb the US dropped on Hiroshima in August 1945 which killed tens of thousands of people. That puts in perspective the seemingly more usable “mini-nuke” missile.

However, with Dr Strangelove-type logic, Pentagon official John Rood, claimed

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, the deployment of such weapons does absolutely make us, or the world, more safe, but makes us very much less so.

And would someone please define what this government is calling "
Russia Aggression" for me?!? Forgive me, but I don't think I could ever be called an "intellectual slouch", but I'm just not seeing this.

Are the Russians and Chinese, in some areas, light years ahead of the US on weaponry, and are they getting a lot more "bank for their buck", in terms of weapons development?!>?

We know that the short answer is "Yes"; but instead of blaming Russia or China for their better evolution of weapons, should we not be defining the problems in US weapons development, and getting them fixed?!?

Folks, I'm just saying.....

U.S. Bomber Fleet May Shrink Temporarily as Troubled B-1B Lancer Faces Likely Early Retirement

As the U.S. Air Force considers retiring a large portion of its legacy combat jets to save funds for reinvestment in more modern aircraft, the B-1B Lancer heavyweight variable swept wing bomber has been a leading candidate for early retirement due to its increasingly limited capabilities, very low availability rates and high operational costs. The U.S. Air Force has continued to face difficulties operating the Lancer , with the aircraft’s very high maintenance requirements and operational costs leaving over 90% of the fleet out of service in 2019. The B-1B fleet was initially scheduled for complete retirement in the mid 2030s, when they would be replaced by larger numbers of B-21 Raider stealth bombers, but ongoing reliability issues and rising operational costs could force the Air Force to retire the aircraft early - with some Lancers potentially leaving service before 2025.

Operation Barbarossa II: Setting The Stage For War

I have written several times about the continuing NATO preparations for an attack on Russia, a second Operation Barbarossa, the code name for the Nazi invasion of the USSR in 1941. Circumstances prompt me to write about it again, for as of the last week in January the Americans and their gang of lieutenant nations in NATO have commenced the biggest military exercises in 25 years to take place in Europe. The code name for this operation is Defender-Europe 20 but we can interpret that as Attack-Russia 20; in effect a preparation for an attack on Russia comparable to the Nazi invasion in 1941 that killed 27 million Soviet citizens, wounded countless more and destroyed everything west of the Urals and led ultimately to the crushing of the Nazis that launched the attack.

REVEALED: The long-suppressed official report on US biowarfare in North Korea

Written largely by the most prestigious British scientist of his day, this official report, containing hundreds of pages of evidence about the use of US biological weapons during the Korean War, was effectively suppressed upon its original release in 1952.

Courtesy of researcher Jeffrey Kaye, INSURGE now publishes the report in text-searchable format for the first time for the general public, with an exclusive, in-depth analysis of its damning findings and implications.

The report provides compelling evidence of systematic violation of the laws of war against North Korea through the deployment of biological weapons — a critical context that is essential for anyone to understand the dynamics of current regional tensions, and what might be done about them.

A NEW SPACE RACE? US, CHINA, RUSSIA, AND EUROPE ALL PLAN FOR MOON BASES

One year ago in January, a Chinese robot landed on the dark side of the moon. Since then, the Chang’e 4 probe and the Yutu-2 rover it carried onboard have been busy photographing and scanning minerals, growing yeast, hatching fruit-fly eggs, and cultivating cotton, potato, and rapeseeds in the moon’s low gravity, according to the Daily Beast.

Now, China’s National Space Administration is quietly planning to launch yet another probe into space. Chang’e 5 could blast off as early as this year.

Last year, TMU reported that the Yutu-2 rover came across a strange “gel-like” substance which the Chinese began to study extensively.

The Chinese space agency has continued to work on its Tiangong 3 space station and is planning on testing a new manned spacecraft for deep-space missions. That permanent station will reach orbit aboard the country’s new Long March 5B rocket in the first half of 2020, AFP reported. The mission will not be associated with the International Space Station.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The very clearly articulated desire of the US government to "weaponize space", concerns me deeply.

Space exploration should be a place in which all countries around the world should be cooperating, and not competing; humankind, as a species, is never better than when it works together to share information, and insights, to give us a better understanding of where we stand, in our little blue island of Light, relative to the rest of the universe.

But one fact many may not know about San Francisco’s fog is that in 1950, the US military conducted a test to see whether it could be used to help spread a biological weapon in a “simulated germ warfare attack.” This was just the start of many such tests around the country that would go on in secret for years.

Francis Boyle: Wuhan Coronavirus is an Offensive Biological Warfare Weapon

Dr. Francis Boyle discusses the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China and the Biosafety Level 4 laboratory (BSL-4) from which he believes the infectious disease escaped. He believes the virus is potentially lethal and an offensive biological warfare weapon or dual-use biowarfare weapons agent genetically modified with gain of function properties, which is why the Chinese government originally tried to cover it up and is now taking drastic measures to contain it. The Wuhan BSL-4 lab is also a specially designated World Health Organization (WHO) research lab and Dr. Boyle contends that the WHO knows full well what is occurring.

Episode #18 - Is Iran Sucking the Neocons into a Russian Cauldron??

Very interesting!

Iran's move to pull out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty looks like an invitation to the U.S. to bomb them back to the stone age. But is it? Russian military strategy is predicated on creating cauldrons, encircling an over-confident enemy and cutting off their means of retreat.

Is this move by Iran part of their larger gambit to get what it wants in the Middle East? Are the Neocons about to fall into the biggest geopolitical quagmire of all time?

US deploys “usable” nuclear weapon amid continuing war threats against Iran

The Pentagon deployed a new, smaller nuclear warhead aboard the ballistic missile submarine USS Tennessee as it sailed into the Atlantic last month in the midst of the spiraling crisis with Iran. The weapon, known as the W76-2 warhead, has an explosive yield of roughly five kilotons, a third of the destructive power of the “Little Boy” bomb that claimed the lives of some 140,000 people in Hiroshima in 1945.

US, Israel ramp up nuclear weapons testing, deployment amid regional provocations

Israel says it has ramped up the deployment and testing of nuclear and nuclear-capable weapons amid heightened regional tensions after the US assassinated top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and unveiled a biased Middle East plan.

The ministry of military affairs of the Israeli regime on Friday announced that it had conducted a launch test of a “rocket propulsion system from a base in the center of the country”.

The ministry refused to disclose any additional details regarding the nature of the missile, contrary to its usual conduct following satellite launcher and missile interceptor tests.

US BOOSTS 'GLIDE BREAKER' PROGRAM TO SHOOT DOWN PUTIN'S "INVINCIBLE" HYPERSONIC MISSILES

But after over the past two years both Russia and China have hyped their own advancing programs (Putin has touted that his Avangard hypersonic missile as “invincible”), which many analysts believe could be further along than the US program, the more pressing worry is how to defend against the nearly impossible to stop high-tech weapon. Hypersonic missiles, such as the kind Russia has lately tested, “are hard to stop, they can maneuver, they’re unpredictable” and “hard to detect” so “you don’t have a lot of time” to respond — Mike White, the Defense Department’s assistant director for hypersonics was quoted this week as saying.

Toward this end, the Pentagon is pursuing experimental interceptor technology designed to take out possible incoming hypersonics.

Artist’s concept of a hypersonic vehicle. DARPA Image.
The military analysis site Defense One explains of the developing program, still in its infancy:

Webmaster's Commentary:

The bigger question which needs to be both asked, and intelligently answered by both the US military, and the US military/industrial complex is, why does it appear that the US weapons programs so perpetually behind the proverbial 8-ball, compared to those of Russia and China?!?

Why are they spending less, and getting better results, more quickly, than are American weapons programs.?!?

I think every taxpayer in this country, should have the right to know the answers to those questions.

BATS, GENE EDITING AND BIOWEAPONS: RECENT DARPA EXPERIMENTS RAISE CONCERNS AMID CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

BY WHITNEY WEBB VIA THE LAST AMERICAN VAGABOND
DARPA recently spent millions on research involving bats and coronaviruses, as well as gene editing “bioweapons” prior to the recent coronavirus outbreak. Now, “strategic allies” of the agency have been chosen to develop a genetic material-based vaccine to halt the potential epidemic.

WASHINGTON D.C. – In recent weeks, concern over the emergence of a novel coronavirus in China has grown exponentially as media, experts and government officials around the world have openly worried that this new disease has the potential to develop into a global pandemic.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would probably be a lot happier if DARPA's role was much more about saving and empowering human life, rather than destroying it, and I have to ask; how are they going to address the potential long-term side effects of these vaccines in humans?!?

Maneuvering Hell for Our Advantage

When the mainstream media writes about war, even critically, the image that often comes to mind for me is an infant wrapped in plastic. That infant is naked reality, a.k.a., the present moment, suffocating and screaming for its life; the plastic smothering it are the journalistic euphemisms by which murder and terrorism turn into abstract acts of national necessity.

Thus, the recent news that the United States clobbered war-torn Afghanistan with a record number of bombs and missiles in 2019 came to us via Stars and Stripes in language protecting all concerned from raw awareness and flying shrapnel:

American aircraft released 7,423 munitions in the country in 2019, according to figures published Monday by U.S. Air Forces Central Command. Coalition aircraft flew nearly 8,800 sorties during the period, over a quarter of which carried out strikes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why I continue to confront the war machine in this country, and elsewhere (read: Saudi Arabia) with the war that no one really sees, except for some exceptionally ballsy journalists; and that is the genocide being created, courtesy of US-enabled Saudi troops in Yemen.

For almost 4 years now, the US/Saudi troops have visited death; maiming; and disease against Yemen's most vulnerable citizens; its women; it's children; and itgs medically fragile seniors. So, again, because, dammit, someone has to do this, I submit the following; (warning; exceptionally graphic, as in lose your lunch graphic)
Images: Yemeni children blown to bits, or maimed for life, courtesy of Saudi bombing runs

Images: Yemeni children starving to death, courtesy of US/Saudi port blockade, so food cannot get in.

Images: Yemeni children, dying of cholera, possibly weaponized (as was done in World War II

I remember, as a kid going to public school, what we used to get force-fed, in terms of just how great a country this was, and that we would never, ever do harm for economic/geopolitical gain.

And then came the Vietnam war, a with all of its horrific slaughter; drugs coming from central Asia, pouring into our inner cities; and the absolute lunatic madness of US foreign policy.

Yes , the US government is involved, and has been involved, with war crimes around the world, for profit, for quite a long period of time.

As a Christian pacifist activist, who never advocates violence, I cannot be silent, and feel a very strong moral obligation to witness to when our government, and military, are involved in war crimes, as they are doing now in Yemen.

And all the while, every intelligent commentary I have read on this crisis, ends by saying that a settlement between the Houthis and the Saudis has to be reached diplomatically, but I do not see this happening. And I have to ask; why?!?!?

'Absolutely Horrific': Trump Preparing to Roll Back Restrictions on US Military Use of Landmines

Trump's policy rollback is a step toward the past, like many of his other decisions, and sends exactly the wrong message to those working to rid the world of the scourge of landmines."

President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing to roll back established constraints on the U.S. military's ability to use landmines overseas despite the weapons' long history of killing and maiming civilians around the world.

CNN, citing multiple anonymous Defense Department officials, reported Thursday that the Trump administration is expected to loosen landmine restrictions in the coming days by rescinding a 2014 order by former President Barack Obama that limited U.S. landmine use to the Korean Peninsula.

"Trump's landmine move would be in line with all of his other moves to undercut arms control and disarmament in a world much in need of them."
—Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Jody Williams.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Lord, please, NO!! This is totally insane.

And President Trump, a word, please; how about you, and your minions, creating a foreign policy which does not have to be backed by the use of land mines?!?

Does that possibility NEVER enter your collective minds?!?

Evangelicals Love Donald Trump for Many Reasons, But One of Them Is Especially Terrifying

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who was reportedly instrumental in pushing for the killing of Soleimani, is also a master of such messaging. In March, during an interview in Jerusalem with the Christian Broadcasting Network (founded by another apocalyptic preacher, Pat Robertson), Pompeo showed his familiarity with another Iran-centric Bible story popular with End Times evangelicals. In the story, a Persian king is urged to slaughter the Jews in his kingdom at the urging of the evil adviser Haman. But his Jewish Queen Esther convinces him not to and saves her people. Asked whether he thought Trump could be a modern-day Esther, saving the Jews from Iran, Pompeo replied, “As a Christian, I certainly believe that’s possible.” The secretary of state’s End Times beliefs made headlines again after the Soleimani killing, as meme-makers circulated a quote from a speech he made in a Kansas church in 2015.

Pentagon reveals F-35 Lightning's guns don't shoot straight and are cracking in scathing report that demands Lockheed Martin fix 873 flaws on $100million stealth fighter jet

By KEITH GRIFFITH FOR DAILYMAIL.COM

The F-35 Lightning II's problems include hundreds of software vulnerabilities and guns that don't shoot straight, according to a new Pentagon report on issues with Lockheed Martin's $428 billion program.

Air Force models of the F-35 use an internally mounted 25mm Gatling gun that has 'unacceptable' accuracy due to 'misalignments,' according to an upcoming report from the Pentagon's test office obtained by Bloomberg.

The mounts on the guns are also cracking, forcing the Air Force to restrict use of the gun, the report says.

The Marine and Navy versions of the Joint Strike Fighter use an externally mounted version of the gun that does not have the same issues, according to the report.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If THIS is the best Lockheed Martin can do for our military, then this country's military is going to be in deep trouble, if there is any kind of confrontation with Russia or China, because much of their technology is already light-years ahead of that of US forces.

Russia would annihilate US in a nuclear war

by Jonas E. Alexis

Oliver Stone once again should be commended for asking Vladimir Putin thought-provoking questions. Back in 2017, Stone asked Putin: “In a hot war is the US dominant?” Without hesitation, Putin responded: “I don’t think anyone would survive such a conflict.”

In other words, the Neocons, the war machine, ethnic cleansers in the Middle East, and probably even Donald Trump would not survive a nuclear war with Russia. That means that if Trump is even thinking about attacking Russia, then he is digging his own grave.

Politicians in the United States, said Putin, have been living in a crazy or diabolical world since the beginning of time.

Secret Wars, Forgotten Betrayals, Global Tyranny. Who Is Really in Charge of the U.S. Military?

Once again we find ourselves in a situation of crisis, where the entire world holds its breath all at once and can only wait to see whether this volatile black cloud floating amongst us will breakout into a thunderstorm of nuclear war or harmlessly pass us by. The majority in the world seem to have the impression that this destructive fate totters back and forth at the whim of one man.

The assassination of Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, a true hero for his fellow countrymen and undeniably an essential key figure in combating terrorism in Southwest Asia, was a terrible crime, an abhorrently repugnant provocation. It was meant to cause an apoplectic fervour, it was meant to make us who desire peace, lose our minds in indignation. And therefore, that is exactly what we should not do.

Global Research Editor’s Note:

This interview serves as a reminder regarding the diabolical timeline of America’s hegemonic project. Is Iran the next target “to be taken out”?

All these countries are on the Pentagon’s drawing board. These seven countries have directly or indirectly been the object of US aggression.

America’s hegemonic military agenda has reached a dangerous threshold: The assassination of IRG General Soleimani ordered by Donald Trump is tantamount to an Act of War against Iran.

Trump Murdered Soleimani Because He Was the Better Man

This was personal. Trump didn’t have Soleimani killed to stop a war, and he certainly didn’t have him killed because he had been planning an imminent attack on four US embassies. Trump, who had been thinking of killing Soleimani for the past 7 months, had Soleimani killed because he had convinced himself that Soleimani continuing to draw air was an affront to the US.

Soleimani had the best claim of anyone in the world for the architect of victory against ISIS and had likewise dulled and thwarted the US anti-Iranian agenda for the Middle East. And he was walking around as a living reminder of that and wasn’t above publicly ridiculing Trump.

Donald Trump’s Reckless Gamble with Iran Distracts from His Domestic Political Problems

Such is the level of public morality in the United States these days. It is pretty low. The cynical ‘wag-the-dog’ scheme is alive and well in the United States and it is used by unscrupulous politicians when they are in political trouble. Some people fall for it all the time.

FAA warns military training exercise could jam GPS signals in southeast, Caribbean

Jan. 17 (UPI) -- A military training exercise scheduled for this weekend could jam GPS signals in the Southeast and Caribbean, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

An FAA advisory warns pilots could experience "unreliable or unavailable GPS signal" during a training exercise scheduled for Jan. 16 through Jan. 24.

The U.S. Navy's Carrier Strike Group Four will be conducting GPS testing exercises off the coast of Georgia, causing likely disruptions as low as 50 feet above ground level within 207 miles of the test location -- and as high as 40,000 feet within 460 miles.

"The Global Positioning System (GPS) constellation is provided by the Department of Defense (DoD). Routine testing is conducted on the GPS," an FAA representative told Military Times. "The FAA issues advisories to inform operators that they may experience interference with or disruption of their GPS navigation systems in the vicinity of the testing."

Donald Trump’s belligerent threats to Iran’s cultural sites are grotesque

Donald Trump’s threat to destroy the sites of ancient Persia should send a shiver down the spine of any civilised person. How can anything justify American bombing of Persepolis or the mosques of Isfahan? Only the demented can see them as “threatening America”. It is on the same ethical plane as the Islamic State vandalism of Palmyra and Mosul.

The destruction of cultural artefacts in war is specifically outlawed under the Hague convention of 1954 and subsequent protocols. It ranks with genocide, chemical weapons and the “strategic” bombing of civilians as beyond the pale of human behaviour. The US does not recognise most of these treaties as it concedes extraterritorial sovereignty, but it normally obeys them.

Iran holds all the cards in coming Middle East conflict with US - unless Trump is ready to drop a tactical NUKE

Satan for scrap: Russia to DESTROY two of its most powerful strategic nuclear missiles in 2020

Russia is set to dismantle two of its Soviet-era intercontinental ballistic missiles – still considered the most powerful in the world – this year. The R-36M2 ICBMs are commonly known under the NATO reporting name SS-18 Satan.

Two missiles, currently stored at a military compound in Russia’s Urals, are set to be destroyed by the end of November, Interfax reported citing a contract for their dismantling. The missiles – which have a dry weight of 52 tons – will be dismantled for scrap, since they contain quite a cache of valuable materials.

Each ‘Satan’ contains at least 1.2kg of gold, some 19kg of silver, a few grams of platinum as well as almost 6 tons of ferrous and 20 tons of non-ferrous metals. The rest of the missile – fiberglass, assorted rubber plumbing and other materials are set to be recycled and disposed of as well.

2019: A disastrous year for Trump’s foreign policy

Twenty-nineteen could best be described as a year when Donald Trump’s foreign policy unraveled on so many fronts. It became ever more erratic, one-sided and personalized, changing with the US president’s mood swings. The crisis, as many would call it, has been a long time in the making, and the implications will surely cast a long shadow over the new decade.

Trump, a self-proclaimed deal maker, is floundering as much internationally as he is domestically. The US, on his watch, arguably has less leverage with its allies than it has had at any time in modern history. Russia’s defense budget is a small fraction of what the US spends for militarism and warmaking. Yet Russia’s super-weapons exceed the best in the West because of efficient and effective use of its resources.

Meeting with Russia’s Defense Ministry Board on Tuesday, Putin discussed Moscow’s military development and key objectives next year.

Ahead of the meeting, he “visited an exhibition of advanced Russian weapons and equipment.

Putin earlier said Russia will not engage in an arms race. It’ll use its resources effectively and efficiently for maximum bang for the buck, my words interpreting his.

He also stressed that, unlike the US and NATO, Russia abides by its treaty obligations.

“How are we able to…remain in the lead,” he asked? “By using our brains, by intellect, by a better work organization, by minimizing” waste, fraud and abuse, by focusing on achieving maximum defense capabilities against possible aggression.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When someone is doing something excellently well, as the Russians are with their weaponry, how they are doing it must also be a matter of learning and inclusion bytheir competitors.

WIKILEAKS: Chemical Weapons Watchdog Ordered Deletion of ‘All Traces’ of Findings That Syrian ‘Chemical Attack’ May Have Been Staged

Wikileaks has published shocking leaked documents from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in which they covered up a dissenting report that concluded chemical weapons were not used in the Syrian city of Duoma last year.

The latest release is the fourth batch of leaked documents that WikiLeaks has published from OPCW.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me completely unsurprised here; the US government relies on codswallop like this, to further its own agenda; the one thing that would be a surprise is finding a situation in which the US government actually told the truth.

Avangard changes everything: What Russia’s hypersonic warhead deployment means for the global arms race

Moscow’s deployment of ‘Avangard’ hypersonic warheads means the US missile defense installations in Europe are now obsolete – and that Washington would have to spend a lot of money it doesn’t have in order to catch up.
Video released by the Russian defense ministry on Friday shows the hypersonic glider warheads being loaded onto silo-based missiles. For now, the Avangards will be mounted on the UR-100N (or SS-19 Stiletto, as NATO calls them) ballistic missiles, until the RS-28 Sarmat is ready to enter service.

Hypersonic weapons fly far faster than the speed of sound. Avangard is capable of reaching Mach 27 without losing control or disintegrating under heat and pressure. This means that the weapon can outmaneuver any defenses on its approach phase, rendering it “absolutely invulnerable to any air or missile defense system,” in the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With such a bloated budget for Defense, why does the US seem to consistently be drawing the "short stick", when it comes to developing weapons which can, and will, outperform those of Russia?!?

This is a question which must be asked, and answered, by both the defense industry, and congressional representatives of the districts in which they work.

The answer to this is complicated, because isn't one or two factors here, but a conjoining of factors which has allowed this to happen.

Representatives Military Industrial complex rub shoulders with Presidents and Congressional bigwigs on a consistent basis, and overtly and covertly fund those candidates, in both Presidential and State races, to make sure that they get the best "bang", in terms of defense contracts for their campaign buck.

And because they contribute in this manner, executives of these companies believe that they can present shoddy products which are late; antiquated by the time of delivery; don't ever perform as promised; and are besieged with production problems, and the kinds of cost over-runs which could make one's eyes water.

First, this kind of contributing should be immediately outlawed.

Secondly, in the language of any contract by any branch of the US military, there should be a clause inserted stating that if the product is not delivered on time, within budget, and performing as advertised, then the corporate head of that company could be tried, convicted, and serve jail time for a "failure to deliver as specified".

Draconian steps?!? Absolutely.

But would they begin to diminish this kind of perpetual crisis with the American weapons systems industry, in its always being behind the proverbial eight-ball, regarding Russia and China's weapons program?!?

Absolutely.

We've been bled to death, economically, by military-centric companies which believe that all the above, including late, non-performing products, coming with staggering cost-over-runs, are just the way their businesses should work; this government needs to change up its game here, and quickly.

Israel Preparing for War on Iran?

And Trump loves and supports these war criminals.

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)

Israel’s longtime goal is unchallenged Middle East dominance partnered with Washington.

Achieving it depends on transforming independent regional nations into US/Israeli vassal states by war or other hostile means, Iran most of all.Israel considers civilians legitimate targets, striking residential areas indiscriminately in all its wars of aggression, the policy stated earlier by future IDF chief General Gadi Eisenkot, saying:

“We will apply disproportionate force at the heart of the enemy’s weak spot (civilians) and cause great damage and destruction.”

'Direct threat to peace': China raises alarm as US Space Force receives first funding

China has condemned the inauguration of the newest branch of the US military, the Space Force, describing its creation as a threat to peace that endangers global stabilit
y.
Foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told reporters on Monday that Beijing was "deeply concerned" and "resolutely opposed" to the Space Force, which received its first funding after US President Donald Trump signed the annual military budget last week.

The Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said Washington's new military branch sets a dangerous precedent for the militarization of outer space.

The specific US actions are a serious violation of the international consensus on the peaceful use of outer space, undermine global strategic balance and stability, and pose a direct threat to peace and security in outer space.

He called on the international community to "adopt a cautious and responsible" approach to space, in order to prevent it from becoming a conflict zone

Webmaster's Commentary:

Geng Shuang is completely correct in his assessment; Trump added this "enhancement" to the budget bill, in order to control actions of governments he doesn't like on this planet, or with which he has a very complicated relationship.

I think China falls under that last characterisation very well.

The Hidden Military Use of 5G Technology

The possibilities offered by this new technology are explained by the Defense Applications of 5G Network Technology, published by the Defense Science Board, a federal committee which provides scientific advice for the Pentagon –

“The emergence of 5G technology, now commercially available, offers the Department of Defense the opportunity to take advantage, at minimal cost, of the benefits of this system for its own operational requirements”.

In other words, the 5G commercial network, built and activated by private companies, will be used by the US armed forces at a much lower expenditure than that necessary if the network were to be set up with an exclusively military goal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And of course, the other "dark side" of this technology is probably much more, and more intense surveillance against perfectly innocent people, who are doing absolutely nothing wrong.

Shock Video as Russians Enter Syria’s Raqqa, a ‘2nd Dresden’ After US Saturation Bombing

More US War Crimes.

The CIA and Mossad created and funded ISIS, which they used to invade Syria, and then, when the jig was up and they had to pretend to be on the right side, they bombed a few Syrian cities back into the stone age, not to destroy ISIS, which fled well in advance with ample warning from their friends, but to make sure the Syrians had nothing left. The infrastructure of Raqqa is non existent, they’d be better off if it was just sand. That’s how Israel plays the game. Time for the Western voters to wake up and realize who has them by the tail.

Cancer Cases on Sharp Increase in Iraq's Al-Anbar after US Use of Banned Munitions

Medical authorities in al-Anbar province in Western Iraq report a sharp rise in the number of registered cases of cancer diagnosis as a result of the US military's use of banned munitions at the time of occupation.

"The radiation of prohibited ammunition used during the US occupation of Iraq is the most important cause for the heightened number of cancer patients in al-Anbar province," an oncologist in the province was quoted as saying by the Arabic-language Afaq news channel on Wednesday.

He noted that people in al-Anbar are facing different problems risen from the Americans' use of banned weapons and munitions, and said that cancer is a disease whose treatment is much costly, while people in the province cannot afford it, and even the few that could bear the huge expenses are facing shortage of cancer drugs.

The US troops used white phosphorus in the offensive in the Iraqi city of Falluja in 2004, the US said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"...very sparingly...", MY ASTROLABE!!

To be a citizen of a country with absolutely zero shame about using prohibited weapons, such as white phosphorous, when its ability to create cancer is undisputed, is a very bitter, and difficult, reality for thinking people who care about this country's future.

Color me one of those people.

Remember the way we were programmed, as kids, into believing that this country would never do something immoral, just for the sake of expediency?!?

These war crimes (and those still being committed, as in Yemen) make an absolute mockery of the concept of the US government as responsible, valuing human life, or moral; those running this government don't give rat's anus about anything over and above the financial outcome of these endless wars with which to protect its financial hegemony.

And when we know about such things happening as a result of US foreign policy, and do nothing, we are ultimately responsible for these war crimes, even if we didn't commit them ourselves, because we didn't have the courage to (peacefully and rationally) confront those who gave the orders to commit those crimes.

Nothing can hold back arms race if Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty with US is not renewed – Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that a global arms race is inevitable if the US and Russia do not agree to extend the ten-year Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START), which is due to expire in early 2021.
Speaking at a Q&A session with reporters in Moscow on Thursday, Putin said that Russia stands ready “to simply renew the existing New START agreement,” even if it happens as fast as by the end of this year.

They can send us the [agreement] tomorrow, or we can sign and send it to Washington. Let their designated official sign it too, including the president, if they’re ready to do so.

“But so far our proposals have been left unanswered” by the US, Putin stressed.

If the New START ceases to exist, nothing in the world will hold back an arms race. I believe this is bad.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin is entirely correct in his assessment here; I think President Trump wants out of the treaty because right now, the US weapons manufacturers are collectively not providing weapons which can not even begin to compare with the new weaponry coming out of Russia and/or China.

A new arms race is the last thing the US, Russia, and China should be doing, because it puts the people of this planet at increased risk, that those horrifically destructive weapons will, ultimately, be used.

A world at peace has no need for this; and I have to wonder just what is going to convince world leaders to at least try for a little lessening of international tensions in 2020; unfortunately, looking at how geopolitical squabbles are getting sorted at the moment, I do not see this coming to fruition any time soon.

There is no 19 year old American who has not lived during a time of continuous war, most usually generated by the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, and that .... is a pretty damned depressing statistic.

NEW YORK FED PLANS TO THROW $2.93 TRILLION AT WALL STREET’S TRADING HOUSES OVER NEXT MONTH

SOURCE: RIGGED GAME
PAM MARTENS AND RUSS MARTENS OF WALL STREET ON PARADE.
One has to wonder how much money it would take for the New York Fed to throw at Wall Street before the New York Times reports to its readers on the biggest Wall Street bailout by the Fed since the financial crisis.

Last Thursday, December 12, the New York Fed announced that over the next month it would shower the trading houses (primary dealers) on Wall Street with a total of $2.93 trillion in short-term loans. The money is for a Wall Street liquidity crisis that has yet to be explained in credible terms to the American people and yet the New York Times does not appear to have an investigative reporter assigned to investigate what’s really going on just 11 years after those same trading houses blew themselves up in the biggest financial crash since the Great Depression and took the U.S. economy along for the ride.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As an individual who really tries to be frugal, the numbers being thrown around here, are almost dizzying, both in terms of magnitude, and what they mean for the American economy as a whole.

I am very deeply concerned about two issues here; first, the real possibility of a financial crash which would dwarf that which caused the American Great Depression of the 30s, and secondly, the reality that so far, the US government has gotten out of its financial straits through wars.

And have you noticed all the potential "boogie-man countries" recently against which the US media has been waving its collective warmongering digits ?

Let's see; there is China; Iran; Russia; and North Korea.

I would like to hope that all who want President Trump's first term in office to succeed, will share with him the following, butt-ugly reality here; The US military does not have the money; the weaponry; the manufacturing; or the troop strength, with which to win a war with any of the above-mentioned countries.

A war with North Korea almost guarantees a war with China; a war against Iran almost guarantees a war with Russia.

President Trump needs, desperately, to understand these very dark realities, and craft a foreign policy which moves as far away from war, as the American answer to these challenges, as he can possibly move that foreign policy.

Putin to Americans: You Bring Back Nuclear Missiles to Europe, I’ll Park Mine in the Atlantic

The US has torn up the INF nuclear treaty which prohibited land-based mid-range conventional and nuclear missiles. Russians expect the next step for the US is to bring mid-range nuclear missiles aimed at Russia to Europe as they did in the 1980s.

Putin has made it clear if that happens, the Russian response will not be simply to deploy its own land-based missiles aimed at European hosts of American missiles as was the case in the 1980s, but to also park such missiles under the waters of the Atlantic aimed at the US.

Gigantic Craters at Long Last Pinpointed Decades After US Nuclear Tests in Pacific

Scientists have for the first time registered and mapped the aftermath of underwater nuclear tests from the 1940s and 1950s, as they combed the so-called Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands, Popular Mechanics reported citing the research revealed at a 2019 meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco.

Using advanced sonar, the team of researchers scanned the sea floor for evidence of the first two tests on the atoll, which were conducted as part of Operation Crossroads.
The first test, Able, was a 23 kiloton atomic bomb dropped from a B-29 bomber and set to explode at 1,500 to 2,000 feet.

The explosion was 50 percent more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Able sank five warships but according to scientists there is no distinct sign of the test on the seabed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wish that countries on this planet did a lot better with honorable, hard-won negotiations, as away of resolving geopolitical tensions, rather than even contemplating the use of WMDs.

Is Trump Preparing A New Iran Nuclear Deal?

A moment of monumental importance for U.S.-Iran relations took place early last week when a high-level exchange of prisoners took place in Switzerland. OilPrice.com can exclusively reveal that during the exchange the U.S., for the first time, made it clear that it would resume negotiations with Iran on the removal of sanctions “with no preconditions.” Iran made it equally clear that it saw the prisoner exchange as the road to re-engaging in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear deal, without the removal of sanctions by the U.S. being required beforehand. “This is the beginning of the end of this extremely dangerous global stand-off between the U.S. and Iran,” a senior oil and gas industry source who works closely with Iran’s Petroleum Ministry exclusively told OilPrice.com last week.

Pentagon's Statements Prove US Started Developing INF-Banned Missiles Before Leaving Deal - Beijing

The day before, US Secretary of Defence Mark Esper praised the successful test of the INF-banned ground-based missile, noting that it had taken less than nine months, instead of the usual two years, to go from concept to launch.

Washington's recent ballistic missile test proves that the country used to prepare for tests of missiles banned under the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty well ahead of withdrawing from the deal officially, the Chinese Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman, Hua Chunying, said on Friday.

The Warfare State Lied About Afghanistan, Iraq, & Syria. They Will Lie Again!

Authored by Tho Bishop via The Mises Institute,

This week saw the Washington Post published a bombshell report titled “The Afghanistan Papers,” highlighting the degree to which the American government lied to the public about the ongoing status of the war in Afghanistan. Within the thousands of pages, consisting of internal documents, interviews, and other never-before-released intel, is a vivid depiction of a Pentagon painfully aware of the need to keep from the public the true state of the conflict and the doubts, confusion, and desperation of decision-makers spanning almost 20 years of battle.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At 70, I have a very clear memory of the Vietnam war; many of the young men drafted, who were my friends and sometimes brother and sister musicians, never made it back alive, or were mentally, or physically, or both, shattered beyond repair, for the rest of their lives.

I understood, that the premise under which this horrendous, genocidal war was being fought, had utterly no relationship to what we were told by the TV; Radio, and government-owned writers.

In short, what this US government does, is lie; obfuscate; and throw up smoke screens, so that the US citizens will not, clearly, be able to look at the long view, and see what is really going on.

It is generally the alternative media which does this, although kudos to WaPo, for having published this article, because it states, very clearly, what many Americans have suspected for quite some time now; politicians, in order to keep their buddies in the military industrial complex happy, is "arrange" for this country to be in almost perpetual war. Earnings boom for those companies, allowing them to give even more support to candidates who see the world as they do, financially, and this is their perspective, and philosophy:

1. Destabilize an existing, not-pro-US government with one which is.

2. Make sure that the resources of that country are expropriated by companies with which they are "embedded", for this kind of work, with the people living over or around those resources, getting precious little compensation for them, if any.

3. Insure that the funds in which these resources are sold, are only US dollars.

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in their origins, the man was absolutely correct.

North Korea Says US Has Nothing To Offer If Nuke Talks Resumed

A week after North Korea resumed its "dotard" insults at President Trump and their ambassador to the United Nations said further denuclearization talks are no longer needed, Reuters reported Thursday via Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) that, even if denuclearization talks resumed between both countries, the Trump administration has nothing to offer:

North Korea's foreign ministry criticized the Trump administration for meeting with officials at the UN Security Council and suggested that it would be ready to respond to any corresponding measures that Washington imposes.

"The United States said about corresponding measure at the meeting, as we have said we have nothing to lose and we are ready to respond to any corresponding measure that the US chooses," said KCNA citing a North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The real problem, to which President Trump appears to be utterly tone-deaf, is that issue of "quid pro quo", meaning, "If YOU do something, I will reciprocate by doing something."

But the American posture appears to be, to both Kim Jung Un, and North Korea; the following; "You ... do everything we have asked; then we will consider doing something for you."

This is the absolute antithesis of true negotiations ; and what President Trump may reap from this, is more nuclear North Korean tests, greater North Korean Nuclear capabilities, and more protection from China.

Turkey May Close Incirlik Air Base for US Over Sanctions Against S-400 Purchase - Foreign Minister

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara will not abandon the Russian S-400 air defence systems in order to buy American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in a statement that Ankara may insist that the US leave Incirlik air base if Washington goes ahead with the sanctions it has threatened in response to Turkey's purchase of S-400 missiles.

"We will assess the worst-case scenario and make a decision. If the US imposes sanctions against Turkey, then the issue of the Incirlik and Kurecik bases may be on the agenda," Cavusoglu said.
The missile attack early warning radar, which is part of the NATO missile defence system in Europe, deployed in the Kurecik region of Malatya province in southeastern Turkey, was put into operation in early 2012. Its functioning is provided for by the US military.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What happens if the 50 US nuclear missiles cannot be retrieved which are held at Incirlik?!?

I seriously think that President Trump has to consider ALL his options on removing them, before things either get so frozen with Turkey that they will not move, or ..... another regional conflict heats up here?!?

Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s aide, Brigadier Gen. After the success of this first attack, LeMay was determined to continue, stating his intention to have Tokyo entirely “burned down – wiped right off the map”, and proceeded to carry out his homicidal determination with repeated fire-bombings covering an increasingly greater area of Japan.

US Navy, Air Force team up on new ‘Manhattan Project’

The U.S. Navy and Air Force are teaming up to rapidly develop a network that can link together Air Force and Navy assets during battle, an effort the Navy’s top officer compared to the 1940s program to develop an atomic bomb.

Adm. Michael Gilday, the new Chief of Naval Operations, told an audience Thursday that in order to take on China, the Navy will have to spread out and rely on networked weapons and sensors distributed over a wide area. But doing that would rely on a network architecture that doesn’t yet exist.

To be the most effective force, the Navy acknowledges it must be able to connect with Air Force bombers and aircraft, leading the two services to an agreement to join forces.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What stuns me, in reading this report, is that such a system was not up and running years ago.

Russia Says Will Respond to U.S. on Missile Deployment

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday that Russia will not hesitate to respond to any new deployment of missiles by the United States.

"We will have a mirror reaction", Lavrov said. "Every step will have a Russian reaction," Lavrov said at a news conference in Rome with his Italian counterpart, speaking through an Italian interpreter.

Russia has proposed a moratorium on the deployment of short and intermediate-range nuclear missiles in Europe after the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) banning such a move formally ended in August.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) Mr. President, and Secretary Pompeo; a word, please, gentlemen.

Were I you, I would absolutely believe, precisely, every word
Sergei Lavrov said here; in making this statement, the guy is about as serious as is a heart attack, and did not utter these words just to hear himself speak.

Right now, I think that BOTH of you need to check your collective egos at the door; sit down; and do some real negotiating here.

Neither this country, nor the world, needs to see a massive, tit-for-tat, arms buildup between Russia and the US, which may well ultimately see war between these countries, which could potentially spread, like a brushfire, uncontained, over the entire world.

Putin offers US an immediate extension to key nuclear pact

Russian President Vladimir Putin offered Thursday to immediately extend the only remaining nuclear arms reduction pact with the United States, but a senior U.S. official said Washington wants a broader deal involving China.

Speaking at a meeting with military officials, Putin said that Russia has repeatedly offered the U.S. to extend the New START treaty that expires in 2021 but that it hasn’t heard back.

“Russia is ready to extend the New START treaty immediately, before the year’s end and without any preconditions,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump should take Putin up on this, and immediately; then, negotiate a separate deal with China.

But looking at the way President Trump does business, I am not holding my breath, that this will actually happen, although I think that somewhere, in his heart of hearts, he knows it to be the right thing to do.

KEEPING UP WITH CHINA: US NAVY ORDERS $22 BILLION WORTH OF SUBMARINES

SOURCE: CNN.COM
The US Navy on Monday awarded its most expensive shipbuilding contract ever, more than $22.2 billion worth of the world's most advanced submarines.

The massive contract for nine nuclear-powered, Virginia class attack submarines comes just months after the head of the US Navy in the Pacific warned of a massive Chinese naval buildup and his trouble in getting enough submarines to counter it.

The deal "marks the US Navy's latest response to China's growing military power and aggressive actions in the Western Pacific," said Carl Schuster, a former director of operations at the US Pacific Command's Joint Intelligence Center.

"The PLAN (Chinese Navy) is getting better and larger so the US Navy has to respond," he said. "It doesn't make China an enemy, but China's actions do bear watching."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem here is, the US military seems to have to struggle to at least "keep up" with advances in Chinese weaponry; and the question I have to ask is, why is it that we are not light-years ahead on this issue?!?

The answers to this question are complex, and deserve to be addressed, both by any corporate head of the military/industrial complex, and by the Pentagon itself.

It is a known fact that all military industrial complex companies contribute intensely to both parties, as the Presidential campaign kicks into gear.

But unfortunately, as the old saying goes, familiarity...breeds contempt.

And because the leadership of these war-centric corporations frequently play golf with the President, and are on a first-name basis with him, they feel that it ultimately doesn't matter if the equipment they produce is shoddy; antiquated upon delivery; and have the cost overruns from hell, that the President, and our military, should constantly accept "less than", when it comes to great weaponry design, because, after all, they put our President intol a financial position which made it possible for him to win the election.

That has got to change, and what we need is legislation to prevent any of the military industrial complex to donate one dime to either candidate in the national elections.

Then, there should be a clause written into any contract for any weaponry the military should like to buy, that if the product doesn't deliver, on time, and as advertised upon delivery, then the heads of those corporations need to be charged with a military-application specific intellectual and industrial treason, tried by a jury of their peers, convicted, and serve their sentences in a non-club Fed.

Draconian?!? Hell, yes. But as those of you who occasionally read my posts understand, I abhor war as a way with which to resolve geopolitical differences. That being said, when our military goes to war, it should not be with less than utterly stellar equipment, which the military industrial complex has generally not been able to provide.

But I will almost bet you; the first corporate executive charged and convicted under this category of crime, will be a great "inspiration" for those who will follow them into positions of leadership in this industry.

Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev warns Russia and US must avoid a 'hot war that could mean the destruction of our entire civilization'

Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev has warned that civilization could be on the brink of destruction after the US withdrew from Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty he signed alongside Ronald Reagan in 1987.

Speaking about the rubbishing of the agreement on August 2 that Mike Pompeo said occurred when 'Russia failed to return to full and verified compliance through the destruction of its noncompliant missile system', Gorbachev described it as 'first steps towards destruction'.

Tulsi Gabbard: Wake Up And Smell Our $6.4 Trillion Wars; Meanwhile, her fellow Democrats appear abysmally unconcerned about the human and financial toll.

DOUG BANDOW
The Democratic establishment is increasingly irritated. Representative Tulsi Gabbard, long-shot candidate for president, is attacking her own party for promoting the “deeply destructive” policy of “regime change wars.” Gabbard has even called Hillary Clinton “the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party.”

Senator Chris Murphy complained: “It’s a little hard to figure out what itch she’s trying to scratch in the Democratic Party right now.” Some conservatives seem equally confused. The Washington Examiner’s Eddie Scarry asked: “where is Tulsi distinguishing herself when it really matters?”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Gabbard has this issue by the "short and curlies", and I respect her for taking no prisoners, when it comes to these horrific wars.

Tom Perez, please; at the end of the day, you are going to need a Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidate who appeal to the American "middle", to the centrists, if you will.

IF you actually run Biden (with Ukrainegate already bursting out at the seams); Clinton, (who has more baggage than does Kim Kardashian on a photo shoot); Warren or Sanders (both socialists with no real "middle appeal"), you will, just as you did in 2016, The Democrats will lose this election to President Trump, and it will be your own damned fault.

We both know that Buttegeig and Gabbard may be considered "long shots"; but at the end of the day, we both know that Presidential candidates are created, and do not come out of the ether (Remember the propaganda for the first Clinton campaign, "A Town called Hope"?!?) But I think, if your PR team has any sense, they will do a decent pairing of these two, as reasonable, intelligent human beings, whose domestic and foreign policies will make sense to the American people.

That could work really well, and you just might not lose out on the Presidential election twice in a row.

With any other candidates you have to put forward, the Dems will lose again, to Trump; and I don't believe, for a moment, that you want to see that happen.

ISRAELI GOVERNMENT TO EXPAND GLOBAL ARMS EXPORTS IN 2020

SOURCE: MIDDLE EAST MONITOR
The Israeli government is aiming to increase the volume of Israel’s defence exports, reported Globes, which has revealed the main points of the plan for the first time.

The project, being overseen by the Defence Ministry’s International Defence Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) led by Brigadier General (Res.) Yair Kulas, will begin to be rolled out in early 2020.

According to Globes, the plan is based on “focused seminars for senior commanders in foreign armies”, Israeli military “assistance for promoting sales of Israeli weapons”, and “subsidising small and medium-sized defence companies seeking to sell arms around the world”.

Speaking this week, Kulas said that SIBAT favours a major expansion of agreements between countries, resulting in significant deals for the large defence companies, especially Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Rafael Advanced Defence Systems.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me unsurprised at this development; but one has to wonder how Israeli weaponry really stands up to that of China or Russia, at this point?!?

Can the Religious Left Take Down Nuclear Weapons?

In her testimony, Plowshares defendant Clare Grady of the Ithaca, New York Catholic Worker community tried to explain to the jury the motivation and urgency of the group: US government is using nuclear weapons daily as a gun pointed at the head of the planet. But even as she spoke, she had a series of legal guns pointed at her own head. She and her fellow defendants had been threatened with contempt if they disobeyed Wood’s edict not to cite evidence or legal arguments that might result in acquittal. As law professor Francis Boyle warned before the trial: “This is a kangaroo court with a rubber stamp and a railroad all put together.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

These people will be in my prayers, and I consider all of them, to be very courageous in expressing the courage of their spiritual convictions by what they have done.

Were their actions the only potential things they could have done?!?

No; but I think they decided on their actions to create some awareness about the horrific dangers of nuclear weapons for those who were unawakened, as to just how destructive these weapons can be.

I would like to hope that what they may well have started, is a quiet, intelligent dialogue among people who understand, that the whole notion of mutually assured destruction, is, in and of itself, totally insane.

And please remember; the US government is the only government on the face of this planet to have used nuclear weapons...twice.

FURIOUS CHINA SHADOWS TWO US WARSHIPS SAILING THROUGH DISPUTED WATERS, WARNS THEM TO LEAVE

SOURCE: ZERO HEDGE

China is again furious after the US sailed several warships through the heavily disputed waters in the South China Sea, military sources told Reuters. The move by the US has escalated tensions between both countries, already tense as the latest round of trade talks have fallen apart, and the signing of the phase one trade deal has likely been delayed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a palm to forehead moment, at warp speed, upon reading this.

The key to both great comic delivery, and statescraft, is timing; in this case, as was the case with the Senate passing a bill this last week which supported the Hong Kong protestors against the Chinese government, the timing could possibly have been worse, but I sure as hell cannot imagine how.

The horrific suffering of American farmers over China's not buying their crops, because of the trade debacle, which has been costing properties taken in foreclosures, and actual suicides among American farmers, cannot possibly be overstated.

China has furiously demanded of President Trump that he veto the Hong Kong bill; and while we most probably will have to wait to see if he actually does this, this legislation, coupled with a very angry Chinese government over this deployment of American war ships in the South China Sea, is not winning any friends in the Chinese government right now, and President Trump and his advisors are so moving in the wrong direction here.

Because when the timing of certain elements of statescraft appears to have gone "mammary glands vertical", you know that something is very wrong with Trump's approach to China, unless the whole thrust of these policies, collectively, is to goad China into going to war against the US.

And of all the ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid things this administration could be contemplating right now, a war with China is right up there among the most potentially insane possibilities being treated as a viable scenario.

THE US GOVERNMENT CONTINUES TO SIDE WITH SAUDI ARABIA OVER 9/11 FAMILIES

SOURCE: MINT PRESS
The 9/11 Report states that “we have found no evidence that the Saudi government as an institution or senior Saudi officials individually funded the organization [al-Qaeda].” The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has used that sentence numerous times defending itself against families of 9/11 victims that are attempting to sue them for financially supporting the 9/11 attacks. 9/11 family member, September Eleventh Advocate, and Jersey girl, Kristen Breitweiser addressed the issue here.

For a long time, the U.S. Government argued that since Saudi Arabia was not on the State Department’s list of state sponsors of terrorism, the 9/11 families couldn’t sue the Kingdom in a court of law. But in 2016, a bill called the “Justice Against Sponsors Of Terrorism Act (JASTA)” was passed allowing 9/11 families to sue, despite the formality. President Obama attempted to veto the bill but his decision was overridden by Congress.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sorry, 9/11 families: you are SOL on this, because Saudi Arabia is the number one weapons purchaser of US weapons systems.

Saudi Arabia is America's No. 1 weapons customer

This article goes on to state> "The U.S. remains the world's largest weapons exporter, a position it has held since the late 1990s. Our biggest customer? Saudi Arabia.

That business reality came to the forefront this week in President Donald Trump's refusal to crack down on the kingdom whose royal rulers have been accused of murdering a Saudi-born, U.S.-based dissident journalist who disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

The U.S. sold a total of $55.6 billion of weapons worldwide in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30 — up 33 percent from the previous fiscal year, and a near record. In 2017, the U.S. cleared some $18 billion in new Saudi arms deals."

In this country, money trumps the truth, nearly every time.

And unless and until something happens to make this stop, the full knowledge of Saudi Arabia's role in the 9/11 attacks will never be fully known or understood; I am sorry, 9/11 families; but that is just the reality right now.

And of course, it is not helping your cause, 9/11 families, that one of two of President Trump's BFFs in the Middle East, is none other than Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Butcher of Yemen; I really think that Trump admires the guy, because because it appears that he can get away with anything (including ordering the assassination of a political dissident, Adnan Kashoggi), and come out pretty nearly unscathed.

But I do have a prediction for both Prince Bin Salman, and President Trump; history, even with a slow drip of what really happened on 9/11 coming out, in bits and pieces, will not remember them kindly.

And as to the US complicity in Saudi War crimes in Yemen; please don't get me started here. Innocents have been, and will continue to be slaughtered here, because there is no one in the US government with the power to make it stop, or wants it to stop, because weaponry manufacturers are ardent campaign contributors, giving the most to the candidate who is ultimately more war-centric than is their competitor.

A blast big enough to move a mountain! Space-based radar reveals the nuclear weapon tested by North Korea in 2017 was 17 TIMES more powerful than Hiroshima

Using the radar on Japan's ALOS-2 satellite, a team of scientists from India were able to determine the size of the yield of the bomb by looking at the impact on the mountain where it was tested.

They found it had shifted the ground of Mount Mantap by a few metres - and the flank of the peak moved by up to half a metre.

The explosion was 1,771ft below the summit, and about 1.6 miles north of the entrance to the tunnel used to access the test chamber, researchers discovered.

Based on the deformation of the ground, the team predict that the explosion created a cavity with a radius of 217ft.

DARPA WANTS INSECTS TO SPREAD GENETICALLY MODIFIED VIRUSES… TO ‘SAVE CROPS’

A US military program dubbed ‘Insect Allies’ could be used as a biological weapon, a group of European scientists warns. The Pentagon’s research arm claims they are intended to defend crops, but doesn’t deny ‘dual-use’ potential.
Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology and the University of Freiburg in Germany, as well as the University of Montpellier, France, have published a critique of the program, dubbed “Insect Allies,” in the October 5 edition of Science.

They argue that “the knowledge to be gained from this program appears very limited in its capacity to enhance US agriculture or respond to national emergencies” and therefore the program “may be widely perceived as an effort to develop biological agents for hostile purposes and their means of delivery,” which would mean a breach of the Biological Weapons Convention.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Dr. Bextine, a word, please; that phrase "nothing could possibly go wrong" has been used innumerable times, when life-threatening scenarios hit, and did their worst, despite the best of precautions being taken.

What is the three independent kill switches go "mammary glands vertical", at the same precise moment?

Do you, or your colleagues have a contingency plan for THAT?!?

I would believe, sir, that the short, and duly embarrassed answer for that would be, "UH...no!"

Pentagon Official Warns China Exporting Killer AI Drones To Middle East

US Defense Secretary Mark Esper warned during a speech on artificial intelligence at the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence public conference Tuesday (Nov. 05) that China is exporting a series of "next-generation drones" to countries in the Middle East, reported Flight Global.

"Beijing has made it abundantly clear that it intends to be the world leader in AI by 2030," Esper said. "While the US faces a mighty task in transitioning the world's most advanced military to new AI-enabled systems, China believes it can leapfrog our current technology and go straight to the next generation."

Middle East countries banned from purchasing advanced US drones due to a weapons embargo are increasingly gravitating towards Chinese defense manufacturers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec Def Ester, a question, please; IS NOT THE US GOVERNMENT DOING THE SAME THING RIGHT NOW?!?

And sir, if China's technology will enable it to "leapfrog" our current technology, can you please explain why this is possible, and that US weapons designers are not capable of doing better than this?!?

Warning to NATO: Russian Navy Deploys Ten Submarines to North Atlantic for Massive Combat Exercises

The Russian Navy has deployed 10 submarines from a range of classes to the northern Atlantic Ocean for large scale military exercises. The drills will involve eight nuclear powered submarines, and shortly follow the deployment of Russian Air Force Tu-160 intercontinental range strategic bombers to South Africa after a thirteen hour flight over the Indian Ocean. The intention of both of these exercises is thought to be a demonstration of the country’s ability to rapidly redeploy assets to project power overseas - including the deployment of survivable high endurance nuclear assets.

By the way it keeps treating Russia and Russians, it’s clear the Deep State desperately wants Russia as it’s enemy and essential villain.

US Navy Audit Uncovers $126 Million in Aircraft Parts Stored in Unknown Warehouse

The US Navy’s inventory tracking issues recently reached a new level after around $126 million worth of aircraft parts needed for repairs were discovered in a warehouse Navy officials did not even know existed.

Undersecretary of the Navy Thomas Modly announced last week that Navy aircraft sidelined last year may have received necessary parts ahead of schedule following a Navy-wide audit that both identified and located the whereabouts of aircraft parts for the P-8 Poseidon, P-3 Orion and F-14 Tomcat.

"Not only did we not know that the parts existed, we didn't even know the warehouse existed," Modly said at the Military Reporters and Editors conference in Washington, DC, reported Military.com. The warehouse in question is located in Jacksonville, Florida.

Every Single US East Coast Aircraft Carrier is Docked for Repairs

Amid a heap of repairs, refuelings and overhauls, all six of the US Navy’s aircraft carriers assigned to the East Coast are in port at the same time. The Navy is pulling itself increasingly thin in an effort to accomodate the Pentagon’s program for “great power competition” with Russia and China.

As of this article’s publishing, not one of the US Navy’s carriers on the Atlantic coast is ready for deployment - all six are tied up dockside in Norfolk, Virginia. Earlier this year, several of the huge, 100,000-ton warships returned to Norfolk for a series of overhauls, but others have encountered unexpected problems.

Could Someone Actually Steal a U.S. Nuke?

The eyes of the world have become fixed on the estimated 50 B61 nuclear bombs stored at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. As the Turkish military operations in Syria strain relations with the U.S., the security of the bombs has become a potential concern and a certain geopolitical headache. One unidentified senior U.S. official expressed worry to The New York Times that the bombs are being “held hostage” by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Extreme caution is always warranted where nukes are concerned, but what is the actual risk of rogue nuclear bombs pose? How well guarded are they, and what could someone do if they got their hands on them?

How Much Oil Is At Stake In Syria?

Though it's as yet uncertain whether the Pentagon is actually going to execute the plan, Trump is mulling keeping a small US troop contingency in Syria in order to "secure the oil".

The president said at a cabinet meeting Monday: “I always said if you’re going in, keep the oil,” the WSJ reported. “We’ll work something out with the Kurds so that they have some money, so that they have some cash flow. Maybe we’ll get one of our big oil companies to go in and do it properly.”

In response, former special presidential anti-ISIL envoy Brett McGurk, who served under both the Obama and Trump administrations, stated the obvious: “Oil, like it or not, is owned by the Syrian state,” he said Monday. “Maybe there are new lawyers, but it was just illegal for an American company to go and seize and exploit these assets."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Once this country has started down the road of no boundaries whatsoever, it sincerely risks becoming a kelptocracy, which in so many many ways, the Unhinged Surveilled State of Amerika has become.

The natural inclination of our Deep State Leadership, is to proclaim, in a hubristic fashion, its "Pax Amerikana" upon all countries in the world, declaring that somehow, the US government, by its fiat and "divine right", can make it completely OK for the US to expropriate resources to which it has utterly no moral right, and sell those resources only to those who pay in American dollars.

But there is something stirring in the winds; and those are the winds of palpable unrest, in nations which are being strangled by US foreign policy, or the dollar dictatorship and hideous austerity programs of the IMS (most of IMF members know i a "collection context" via taxes, which has nothing to do with their brilliantly Cartier-encrusted lifestyles).

We are very close to an actual breaking point, where the US will not have enough military support, or weapons, to put down popular uprisings which are happening so many places on this planet.

And unfortunately, this kind of unrest could also come to the US in short-term fashion; the huge agricultural swaths of land in this country have become both unplantable, and unharvestable, due to massive floods, in terms of our once-held glory as a "breadbasket to the world".

Food will become much more expensive, even for the very basics, and some people in this country may - literally - starve to death.

I would therefore suggest very politely that perhaps the turn of gaze inward,, at America's own difficulties and concerns, would be a far more fruitful enterprise for this government.

How are your going to feed those food insecure this fall, Mr. President?!? Will Syrian oil be that big a deal when this country starts to have riots over food, and in massive ways?!?

Secret NATO Military Exercises in Germany Drill Nuclear War Scenario – Report

The reported war games are being held a few months after the collapse of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty between Russia and the US, which was prompted by Washington’s move to withdraw from the accord on 2 August.

NATO allies are holding secret military exercises in Germany, which aim to drill a nuclear war scenario, the German newspaper Kronen Zeitung reports.

During the drills, codenamed “Steadfast Noon”, the military personnel utilise warplanes which could be equipped with nuclear weapons in the event of a war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why in the name of heaven are the US political classes planning Armageddon for the rest of us, who do not have "panic bunkers", rather than attempting to ratchet down tensions with Russia, which could mean peace and prosperity for a lot of people around the world?!?

Because, in a few words, we are completely expendable to them, other than as cannon fodder.

Russia understands what happens when war is on their doorstep; most Americans have absolutely zero connection with the American Civil War, so their only connection to war are the "sanitized" bits of footage and soundbites they get from their television, if it ever gets discussed by the talking head/Corporatistas at all.

And for me, all wars represent "a catastrophic failure of imagination" when other modalities for conflict resolution are not employed.

U.N. Investigates Possible Chemical Weapons Use by Turkish Forces in Syria

United Nations chemical weapons inspectors announced on Friday that they are investigating whether Turkish forces used chemical weapons in their invasion of Syria, the Guardian reported Friday.

The Kurds have accused Turkey of using white phosphorous during their recent incursion into northeastern Syria. The Kurdish Red Crescent claims that six patients, including civilians and military members, have been hospitalized in the city of Hasakah due to burns from “unknown weapons.”

The organization could not confirm chemical weapons usage, saying it was “working together with our international partners to investigate this subject.” However, a British chemical weapons expert who examined a photo of one of the victims said the burns on the victim were likely from a chemical weapon.

With Turkey’s invasion of Syria, concerns mount over nukes at Incirlik

But concerns are growing over the reported presence of U.S. nuclear weapons at Incirlik, believed to be about 50 B61 gravity bombs. The New York Times on Monday reported that officials from the State and Energy departments over the weekend reviewed plans for evacuating the nuclear weapons there.

The Privatization of US Led Wars. The Pentagon’s Private Contractors

When the United States invaded Iraq in 2003, of the $87 billion earmarked for the first year of the campaign, $30 billion was budgeted for private contractors. That’s 34% of the entire invasion-budget. Over the course of the 8-year US occupation of Iraq, the largest private recipient of Pentagon contracts was Kellogg Brown and Root, an engineering and construction company, which grossed $40.6 billion from the occupation. According to a 2011 report by the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan, at least $60 billion in Pentagon expenditure on private contractors over the period 2001-2011 could be classified as “fraud” or “waste.” This report estimated the level of “waste” at the time of publication at $12 million per day.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These numbers are pretty damned horrifying and depressing; perhaps not for a government ankle deep in war crimes, as the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika has become.

I remember a time in my life, when I really believed that the US government and its military would never do anything horrible or unethical; then came the Vietnam War, and all the horrors it created, and it became impossible to look at this country other than as the vampire/vulture it had become, expropriating resources to which it had utterly no moral right, then insuring that such resources were only sold in US dollars.

This country may need private armies; but only for the care, and well-being of its citizens, particularly for the most fragile among them; not creating wars which demand mercenary support to win.

And every time the US military hires mercs for a war, they already have absolutely lost the moral high ground; forgive me, but wasn't acting from the moral high ground used to be what this country was supposed to be all about?!?

China's Modern Blueprint For Global Power

Authored by Lawrence Franklin via The Gatestone Institute,

The People's Republic of China, which celebrated its 70th anniversary on October 1, is led by the Chinese Communist Party's General Secretary, President Xi Jinping. In his speeches, Xi often refers to "Qiang Zhong Gwo Meng" ("the Chinese dream"), a code phrase for the era of rejuvenation when China will eventually overtake the United States as the most powerful nation in the world.

Beijing apologists depict China as a non-predatory power, comparing it favorably to Europe's colonial countries in the past and to today's United States.

Similarly, the state-controlled Chinese media depict Chinese statecraft as being based on and reflecting ancient Confucian ethics:

Webmaster's Commentary:

I fail to see precisely where the article is supposed to inform/lead the US government on its foreign policy concerning the stellar rise of China, both economically, and as a nation state; however, that being said, reading the ending attributions does give one a sense of who the person is who wrote it,and their respective mindset.

The guy's name: Lawrence Franklin; please remember that.

So what would this former Iran Desk Officer under former Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld, a war criminal many times over, have We the People, and the US government, do?

Are we, as were the Pope's soldiers instructed by at the siege of Montsegur during the persecution of the Cathars in Languedoc, administered by Papal Prelate, Dominique de Guzman (who was, of course, later sanctified by the Roman Church as "St. Dominic) supposed to support a movement animated by the cry, "Kill them all; God will find His own"?!?

OK, shall the US government exterminate millions of innocents because it doesn't particularly like the current philosophy and goals of their current government?!? IF it looks like a war crime; moves like a war crime, and smells like a war crime (massive amounts of putrefying human flesh with no remedy for the stench), it's is a war crime, folks.

So what do we do as a country?!? IF it is still possible by any of the alleged brainiacs inhabiting the "think tanks" of this country, OUTTHINK THEM!!!

Put this country on a currency based on intrinsic value; declare a "jubilee" for debt forgiveness; and create weapons which actually, really work in combat.

Next, haul presidents of all the companies who hobnob with Washington's elite, yet consistently turn out junk which, even after years of fixes, and cost-over-runs, like the F-35, fail in combat situations into a court of law, charge and convict them with "failure to deliver", and have them cool their heels in a non "Club Fed" environment for some time.

That would go a long way toward curing the problem; of course, that will never happen, so we are looking at two possible outcomes here; World War III, or a complete collapse of the American government.

I don't like either option; but having this country's government go down into complete financial ruin would be less hazardous to the health of the the entire planet, than another world war.

Sorry for the "gloomanddoomistic" tone of this post, but please remember: everything has a life cycle; people; governments, and yes, planets themselves have a life cycle, including this earth, when our sun becomes extinct.

Using nuclear weapons absolutely forbidden – Iran’s supreme leader

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said the country is capable of developing and building nuclear weapons, but will never do so because using such a weapon is absolutely contrary to the teachings of Islam.

“Though we were able to take such a step, based on the decree of the dear Islam we declared it completely haram (religiously banned), therefore there is no reason to incur cost for production and stockpiling of a weapon that its use is absolutely haram,” Khamenei said at a meeting with young scientists on Wednesday, according to Iranian media.

‘No precedent in human experience’: Study finds nuclear war between India and Pakistan could leave 125 million dead

Published in the peer-reviewed Science Advances on Wednesday, the study forecasted a colossal death toll in the event of such a conflict, which it said could send global temperatures plummeting to levels comparable to the last Ice Age.

“Such a war would threaten not only the locations where bombs might be targeted but the entire world,” the study’s co-author and professor of environmental sciences at Rutgers University, Alan Robock, said.

Each nuclear weapon detonated could wipe out as many as 700,000 people, the study’s computer simulations found, while the explosions could send so much soot and debris into the atmosphere that it would trigger a “nuclear winter,” leading to rapidly falling temperatures, crop failures, and ultimately mass starvation.

Secret Israeli nuclear test covered up to help Jimmy Carter’s re-election

immy Carter announces his run for the presidency in 1974. During his bid for re-election in 1979, it is alleged he covered up a nuclear weapons explosion carried out by Israel and apartheid South Africa. | AP
Former President Jimmy Carter covered up a nuclear weapon test by Israel in 1979, declassified reports have suggested. His administration feared that making the discovery public would damage his bid for re-election.

Construction of the Aegis Ashore facility in Redzikowo, northern Poland is nearing completion, with US Missile Defence Agency director Vice Adm. Jon Hill carrying out an inspection tour of the facility late last week, Defense Blog has reported.

Hill reportedly inspected multiple sites on the base, including the multipurpose and housing unit, galley, and the inside of the Aegis Ashore deckhouse structure, which contains the system’s command and control system.
