Catholic Church’s Brooklyn Diocese Calls Pete Davidson’s Anti-Faith Joke ‘Disgraceful’ | WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

Catholic Church’s Brooklyn Diocese Calls Pete Davidson’s Anti-Faith Joke ‘Disgraceful’

“Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson (shown above left) has earned a fair amount of criticism since the taping of the latest “SNL” episode.

Musician R. Kelly was the big focus of the episode. The show’s cold open mocked the rapper — who was recently indicted on multiple counts of sexual assault.

He came up again later in the show when Davidson appeared in the Weekend Update segment.

Davidson compared being a fan of R. Kelly to being a Catholic churchgoer.

The joke earned both applause and boos from the “SNL” studio audience.

“But if you support the Catholic Church, isn’t that the same thing as being an R. Kelly fan? I don’t really see the difference — only one’s music is significantly better,” joked Davidson.

The Brooklyn Diocese was no fan of the joke.
