Sisi backs Jordan's stance on Jerusalem holy sites

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said Tuesday that he appreciated and backed Jordan's intensive efforts to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.

The Egyptian leader spoke during a telephone call with His Majesty King Abdullah II to discuss the latest Israeli raids on the Al Aqsa Mosque compound and their repercussions. Jordan is the custodian of the holy sites in Jerusalem.
