French fraudster linked to Netanyahu jailed over vast tax scheme

A French court has sentenced to eight years in jail a tycoon, who previously made unrelated donations to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, over a massive fraud scheme.

Arnaud Mimran was convicted of fraud on Thursday and sentenced to eight years in prison and one million-euro fine for the 2008-2009 fraud, which French authorities say resulted in a major tax shortfall.

Mimran has been on trial as a key suspect in a 283 million-euro scam in the trade and taxation of carbon emissions permits.

Rain, mountain snow to accompany push of cooler air across northwestern US into the weekend

Summer will take a brief hiatus across the northwestern United States as a storm system brings fall-like weather into early next week.

The jet stream will dive southward and allow for an unsettled and cooler weather pattern to set up and stick around for several days.

The jet stream is a narrow zone of strong winds in the upper levels of the atmosphere that guide storm systems and temperature patterns across the globe, with cooler air to the north and warmer air to the south.

The Met Office needs YOU to tell them what the weather is like: Forecaster’s new supercomputer hasn’t got enough data for it to work so amateur meteorologists need to set up stations in their gardens

Thousands of amateur weather watchers are being urged to install miniature meteorological stations in their gardens by the Met Office to help provide more accurate forecasts.

The national weather service has built one of the world’s most technologically advanced forecasting supercomputers that can carry out 16,000 trillion calculations a second.

But it is being hindered by the lack of data available and the Met Office is now turning to the public for their help.

What planet are you on, Leo? DiCaprio flies his LA friends 6,000 miles around the world so they can listen to his speech on GLOBAL WARMING

When Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio hosts a reception for a string of A-list stars, supermodels and wealthy philanthropists later this month, he will make an impassioned plea for more action to be taken on global warming.

But instead of holding the event in Los Angeles, where most of his guests are based, they will fly halfway around the world to the glitzy French resort of St Tropez – at enormous cost to the environment.

Last night, green campaigners were quick to criticise 41-year-old DiCaprio, who in February used his Best Actor acceptance speech at the Oscars to warn about the dangers posed by climate change.

UPDATE: Claim that jet stream crossing equator is ‘climate emergency’ is utter nonsense

Two bloggers have made a stunning claim that has spread like wildfire on the Internet: They say the Northern Hemisphere jet stream, the high-altitude river of winds that separates cold air from warm air, has done something new and outrageous. They say it has crossed the equator, joining the jet stream in the Southern Hemisphere. One said this signifies that the jet stream is ‘wrecked‘, the other said it means we have a “global climate emergency.”
But these shrill claims have no validity — air flow between the hemispheres occurs routinely. The claims are unsupported and unscientific, and they demonstrate the danger of wild assertions made by non-experts reaching and misleading the masses.

He pointed out a few spots where the jet streams have merged, pinpointing the exact time when they touched each other as June 27 at 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Beckwith said we’ve lost the separation between the Northern and Southern Hemisphere jet streams and that if the trend continues it could lead to the equalization of the entire global temperature, reducing seasonality.

Why the sun going blank means a ‘Game of Thrones’-like winter is coming

You may not have noticed but our sun has gone as blank as a cue ball. As in, it’s lost its spots.

According to scientists, this unsettling phenomenon is a sign we are heading for a mini ice age.

Meteorologist and renowned sun-watcher Paul Dorian raised the alarm in his latest report, which has sparked a mild panic about an impending “Game of Thrones”-style winter not seen since the 17th century.

“For the second time this month, the sun has gone completely blank,” Dorian says.

Has climate change been disproved? Large Hadron boffins cast shock DOUBT on global warming

A study published this week in the journal Nature has looked more closely at the tiny particles within clouds, known as cloud seeds, that help cool the planet and found they can be produced naturally.

Clouds, including natural ones and those from aerosols, are seen by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as the single biggest source of uncertainty about the so-called human-caused climate change.

The problem stems from not knowing how cloudy the world was before the industrial era, and the fact that some of the gases produced by burning fossil fuels said to warm the plant in the long-term, actually help cool it in the short-term through cloud formation.

But now CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, have left the issue even more confusing after discovering, while creating the fake cloud, that trees could have been putting these aerosols into the atmosphere since they first grew at the time of the dinosaurs.

A spotless sun: Incredible image shows solar activity at its quietest in 100 years - and some say it could trigger a mini ice age

During Solar Max, huge sunspots and intense solar flares are a daily occurrence. Auroras appear in Florida. Radiation storms knock out satellites.

The last such episode took place in the years around 2000-2001.

During Solar Minimum, the opposite occurs. Solar flares are almost non-existent while whole weeks go by without a single, tiny sunspot to break the monotony of the blank sun. This is what we are experiencing now.

The longest minimum on record, the Maunder Minimum of 1645-1715, lasted an incredible 70 years.

During this period, sunspots were rarely observed and the solar cycle seemed to have broken down completely.

The period of quiet coincided with the Little Ice Age, a series of extraordinarily bitter winters in Earth's northern hemisphere.

We may NEVER know if we are living in a computer simulation, warns Bill Nye

The question may have crossed your mind at some point – what if we are all living in a simulated reality, and everyone you know is just a character in a sophisticated video game?

Scientists and philosophers have long argued the idea, and in recent months, both Elon Musk and Neil deGrasse Tyson have suggested the likelihood of such a scenario is higher than you might think.

Now, Bill Nye has weighed in on the debate as well, and due to the complex nature of a simulated reality, he says we may never really know the truth.

"F*ck Off Fascist" - One Man's Epic Response To The Mass. AG Over Subpoena On Climate Change

Not everyone is standing by while the government attempts to punish those who disagree with its official policy stance however. Recall that Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Mike Lee (R-UT), Jeff Sessions (R-AL), David Vitter (R-LA) and David Perdue (R-GA) sent a letter to the United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch, demanding that these climate change witch hunts come to an end.

Why Mainstream Science is a Religion

Mainstream science, despite all its claims of objectivity, and despite the fact it attempts to lay claim to the truth, is itself a religion. Science places itself on a pedestal and assures everyone it has dispassionately arrived at its conclusions. Meanwhile, however, it is full of assumptions, denials and limitations, and makes the serious mistake of presenting its theories as facts. The errors of mainstream science are gladly seized upon by technocrats, eager to use science and technology to further their own ambitions of control, and include forcing the vaccine, GMO, surveillance, manmade global warming, geoengineering, SMART and microchipping agendas onto an unsuspecting public.

FLASHBACK - CLIMATEGATE: A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY (UPDATED FOR WINTER 2015-2016)

The global warming scare was concocted out of outright lies, purchased science, and scare mongering to trick you into being willing to pay carbon taxes to solve a non-existent crisis you were told was all your fault. And, of course, to lull you into accepting the dictates of a global government that needed to save the Earth from you icky-poo human beings.

It was all a lie. Here is how it happened.

The Defence Force could be called into rescue the group stranded in their vehicles in heavy snow in Central Otago.

So far several attempts by the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust crew have proven fruitless. The latest attempt was made around 10am, but crew had to turn back due to the severe weather.

Police said other options were now being considered, including bringing in the New Zealand Defence Force NH90 helicopter.

FINALLY! Scientific American writer exposes the tribal cultist arrogance and dogmatic lunacy of science 'skeptics'

Today I'm tipping my hat to John Horgan, a blogger who writes for Scientific American, for his extraordinary article entitled Dear "Skeptics," Bash Homeopathy and Bigfoot Less, Mammograms and War More.

In his article, Horgan rightly points out that today's so-called "science skeptics" are little more than dogmatic tribal cultists (my words, not Horgan's) who celebrate "skeptical" thinking concerning their selected philosophical targets while vehemently denying anyone's right to question their own beliefs on things like breast cancer screening, vaccine safety, global warming and genetically engineered foods.

All This for .01 Degrees Celsius?

This in addition to the fact that, in 2011, she admitted she did not know how much CO2 was in the atmosphere. And its lines of evidence for this are provably false!

Given the facts, I can’t help but wonder: Did policymakers ever take Economics 101, or a course in how to read a chart?

When I see simple questions that can raise doubts, if not outright debunk all this, it’s like watching the opening from the old Twilight Zone series: “You are traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop, the Twilight Zone!”

Portland School Board Bans Literature Denying Climate Change

By Joseph Jankowski

There will be no more discussion as to whether or not humans are contributing to climate change in the Portland, Oregon public school system, as the school board plans to ban all material that denies the existence of man-made climate change.

Although the topic is still being heavily debated within the scientific community, young and impressionable students will now only receive the politically correct side of the issue...

In rural Maine, a life of solitude and larceny - Police say hermit stole to survive 27 years in woods

ROME, Maine — Christopher Knight told police he had lived undetected in the woods for 27 years, spoken to only one person in that time, and not made a single purchase since the mid-1980s. But Knight knew how to steal, authorities said, and how to stay hidden even though his tent lay within 600 yards of the nearest cabin. Such is the singular world of the man dubbed the North Pond Hermit by the long-spooked residents here, where Knight is believed to have committed more than 1,000 burglaries for food, fuel, tools, and clothing since he left a computer-technician job and retreated to the forest. Now, the 47-year-old is residing in the Kennebec County Correctional Facility in Augusta, facing burglary and theft charges, as banjo players rhapsodize about him and bewildered Mainers shake their heads at the thought of 27 winters in the open.

BEX ALERT - 99 Percent Chance 2016 Will Be the Hottest Year on Record

Odds are increasing that 2016 will be the hottest year on the books, as April continued a remarkable streak of record-warm months.

Last month was rated as the warmest April on record by both NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which released their data this week. In the temperature annals kept by NOAA, it marked the 12th record warmest month in a row.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And if you can't trust the government that told you Saddam had nuclear weapons, who CAN you trust! :)

So, quick recap...

On one side you have all these various institutions which are being funded and directed to "prove" humans are warming the Earth, so that a desperately broke and hopelessly in debt government can impose a carbon tax on an already over-taxed people.

On the other side, you have all these record setting winters we have experienced the last several years, including the current one, in which snow is still falling here and there a month before the official start of summer! In the Southern hemisphere, their winter has arrived early this year.

So, do you trust the word of the same government that insists 92 million out of work Americans translates to a 5% jobless rate, or do you trust your own senses?

The actual empirical evidence is that the sun has entered a period of reduced activity; a repeat of the Maunder Minimum, and is bringing with it a repeat of the Little Ice Age. And we see all those who bet their reputations on Al Gore's Human-Caused Global Warming hysteria struggling not to have to admit they were made total fools of!

Late-season mountain snow and cold

Do you have plans of going to the mountains in the West for a little rest and relaxation? Want to enjoy the beautiful scenery and walk in the out of doors? If those are your plans through the upcoming weekend from Washington state to California and into the Rockies, you had better think twice or be ready for March-like, not May, weather.

Another cold storm is dropping south out of the Gulf of Alaska and will enter the Northwest Thursday and push south into California Friday, and then spread out eastward Friday into the weekend. This will bring wind, temperatures well below normal and late-season mountain snow. Not only will there be mountain snow, but it will fall at unusually low levels for this late in the season.

Renewable Energy Is A Clean Green Criminal Machine

SunEdison yieldco TerraForm Global (GLBL) has 90 days to file its delayed 10-K or be required to immediately repay $810 million in defaulted loans, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Goldman Sachs and other lenders backing the 9.75% senior notes, due in 2022, agreed to reduce TerraForm Global’s commitment to $350 million. TerraForm Global has until June 30 to comply with Nasdaq listing requirements by turning over the late 10-K, the annual financial report that the SEC requires of all publicly traded companies. A number of energy companies have formed publicly traded yieldcos designed to hold assets and provide steady cash flows and certain tax benefits.

Al Gore, big government eco-charlatan who is poised to become world’s first ‘carbon billionaire’

Ten years after the release of Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth, none of the film’s dire climate change predictions have come to pass. However, in the decade since the documentary was produced, its creator has raked in millions of dollars from the entire “global warming” scam, and is now poised to become “our first carbon billionaire.”

In the 2006 film, Gore made a number of wild claims regarding what we could expect to see happening over the next few years due to global warming, but virtually all of his alarmist prognostications have turned out to be false.

Why People Don’t Believe in Science

In November the magazine published an issue devoted to climate change. Susan Goldberg, editor since 2015, says that afterward she received a congratulatory note from [Rupert] Murdoch, saying he’d “gathered his family around” to read through the important issue. She says he’s made only one editorial suggestion to her. “James is an environmentalist,” Goldberg says. “He said, ‘I wish we could do more stories about why people don’t believe science.’?” –Bloomberg

Dissent Must Be Silenced

There is a conspiracy afoot to shield Americans from the truth about climate change, however you may be surprised to learn who exactly is deceiving the public and committing the fraud. These perpetrators are utilizing propaganda, Hollywood and political elites, and the cover of institutional authority and resources to bulldoze radical changes on society. It is clear to them that all dissent must be stamped out.

Last year a group of 20 “academics,” led by George Mason University’s Jagadish Shukla, wrote the President, the U.S. Attorney General, and the director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy to “strongly endorse” Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s call to use the RICO statutes (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) to go after any dissenting voices opposing popular climate orthodoxy.
