Who are the “Brutal Dictators”?

Elected Presidents Assad and Maduro are not the brutal dictators. We are.

We are the ones imposing economic warfare, and regime change wars on non-belligerent countries. We are the ones supporting terrorists who impose the death penalty on hundreds of thousands with our weapons, our command and control, our mercenaries, our air support and our terror bombings.

We are dictating our will by destroying these and other countries, by changing “regimes”, by setting up non-democracies throughout the world.[1]

Webmaster's Commentary:

What really irks me, from Iraq to Afghanistan to Yemen, is the US government's willingness to be involved with war crimes, in order to get what they want accomplished, no matter the bloodshed, no matter the pain.

I remember, as a kid, swallowing whole the notion of how the US was always "the good guy" in international politics; but growing up, with the hideousness of the Vietnam War, and other endless military interventions after that, in Chile; Central America; Afghanistan; Iraq; Yemen; and Somalia, how in the name of all that is decent, can one talk about the US government as "the good guy internationally, with a straight face?!?

I sure as heck can't.

The pattern is painfully obvious; regime change; pacify the citizens of the regime changed government (most generally at the point of a gun or knife); have US-centric countries expropriating the resources of the conquered country; and only selling those resources in US dollars.

Wring, wash, repeat.....

But I predict that there will ultimately a point.... where the US will find itself in a position where they can no longer mow across whole continents with its military machines with which to do this.

Unfortunately, the only two ways of stopping this are... a complete economic collapse of this country, or a world war in which the US government loses its shirt. And by the way, I hope that neither of these two outcomes come to pass; but unless the US government changes its behaviour, those in the Bowels of Power in DC, had better get their bunkers in order; this could be one terrible mess!!

Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Arreaza Holds UN Marathon for Peace: Usurper Guaido Urges Military Intervention and War

In a herculean effort to prevent war, and protect the integrity of his country, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza held a breathtaking schedule of events at the United Nations, including a meeting with the Secretary-General, consultations with the envoys of 60 member states supporting Venezuela’s sovereignty, a press conference the evening of February 22, speaking at a Security Council meeting February 26, and presenting an address at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on February 27.

NATO steps up naval presence on the Black Sea

The background to this is an incident in the Kerch Strait at the end of November. Russian ships off the coast of the Crimean peninsula — which was annexed from Ukraine by Russia in 2014 — seized two Ukrainian Navy boats and a tug by force of arms. Deborah Sanders of King's College London told DW that Europe reacted "quite slowly" to the incident in the Kerch Strait via diplomatic channels, so a "more military" approach was chosen, meaning an increased naval presence. Sanders, an expert on defense and security in the region, said the US had taken on an informal leadership role, the aim being to send a clear signal to Moscow that the Black Sea is not Russian waters. She pointed out that the balance of power in the Black Sea has shifted in Russia's favor, and that Kyiv is worried about a blockade of Odessa, the country's most important port. Since the annexation of Crimea, the Ukrainian navy has been stationed in Odessa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

DW, you just lost your credibility - and my respect - with this bit of codswallop.

Are your English language editors so brazenly stupid that they would deliberately blink and miss on one of the most important stories of 2015?!?

You used the word "annexed" twice, indicating that this is how the Russian/Crimean relationship was formed; and that, as you know, is a complete, and utter lie.

President Obama admitted in a 2015 interview, that the US had brokered the deal to get Yanukovich, the duly elected Ukraine President, run over by the proverbial bus, leaving the door open in Kiev for Poroshenko to enter.

Washington Was Behind Ukraine Coup: Obama admits that US “Brokered a Deal” in Support of “Regime Change”

Sorry, DW, this is one doozy of a lie about how Crimea became a member of the Russian Federation, that I CANNOT UN-SEE!!

You owe you readers one hell of an apology for this, DW.

You're welcome!! :-)

Conservatism Inc. Finally Admits Patriots Are Being Deplatformed, Attacked. So What Is It Going to DO?

Field representative Hayden Williams of the Leadership Institute was recently tabling at the University of California-Berkeley when he was attacked by an unhinged campus leftist. [Conservative activist punched in face at Berkeley says incident part of ‘disturbing’ trend, by Stephen Loiaconi, ABC 12, February 26, 2019]

The video has since gone viral and is being heavily promoted by the Leadership Institute and by Turning Point USA, the organization Williams was specifically recruiting for. Despite some reports that a suspect has been “identified,” there have been no confirmed reports from the police. This is literally incredible, considering that the incident was captured on video and the suspect was not wearing a mask.

UN Council: Israel Intentionally Shot Children and Journalists in Gaza

Officials say killings are part of Israel's 'obligation'

Israel is furious at the UN Human Rights Council most of the time, but they are particularly furious whenever the body offers a report, as Israel tends to violate a lot of human rights. In this case, the council has announced an “independent inquiry” into the protests at the Gaza border.

Every Friday, for months now, Palestinian protesters have rallied near the Gaza border to protest the Israeli blockade. Every Friday, Israel shoots a large number of people. The investigation ruled that there are “reasonable grounds” to believe Israel violated international law.

The report noted that 154 out of 183 people killed by Israel in that time were entirely unarmed. They noted Israel had repeatedly, deliberately shot children and journalists, as well as disabled protesters. International law, needless to say, frowns upon those sorts of deliberate killings.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What in the name of heaven motivates heavily armed IDF members to assassinate Palestinian kids?!?

Where is doing this protecting the citizens of Israel?!?

The only understanding which I can come to, is realizing that in maiming and assassinating Palestinian kids, the IDF is taking away as much of the Palestinian future away from their families as they can: it is just...that...simple.

Pakistan to Return Captured Pilot as Tensions Ease

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that he has ordered the release of the Indian pilot captured earlier this week in a shoot-down over Indian airspace. Khan described his return as a “gesture for peace.”

The shoot-downs are part of several days of escalating violence along the Line of Control, with the two large, nuclear-armed states escalating their military action, and describing themselves to remain “on high alert.”

Though this announced release has clearly eased a lot of the tensions, military on neither side seems willing to admit it. India’s military says they “welcome” the release of their pilot, but said they would not say if they think this will amount to a deescalation of the conflict itself.

Australia to reopen notorious migrant detention center after govt. fails to block medevac bill

The Australian government will be reopening the Christmas Island detention center, likened to a maximum security prison, after the opposition streamlined a bill to allow migrant detainees to seek medical help on the mainland.
Australia's conservative Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced on Tuesday that the detention facility in the Australian external territory in the Indian Ocean his government worked hard to shut down would be reopened to accommodate potential new arrivals and detainees, who might be transferred from the Nauru and Manus Island offshore migrant detention camps.

The setback in the conservative government's effort to scale down the controversial migrant detention program is a response to a new amendment to a medical evacuations bill, championed by the Labor party, which enlisted the support of the Greens and crossbench MPs.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wrestle with this because, morally, because I hate to see people suffering and struggling, as illegal immigrants do struggle in environments like this; that being said, as draconian as it is, this policy has kept the Australian people safe from illegal immigrants in a big way.

What the Australian Parliament should come up with, is a different, more responsible way in which they treat their illegal immigrants.

Eight Indian fighters took on 24 Pakistani jets in unprecedented dogfight — media

According to the NDTV broadcaster, the Indian Air Force’s planes prevented the Pakistani fighters from delivering precision strikes against ground targets on India-controlled disputed Kashmir region.

Eight fighter jets of the Indian Air Force took on 24 Pakistani jets in an unprecedented air combat over the India-controlled disputed Kashmir region, India’s NDTV television reported on Thursday.

According to the TV Channel, the Pakistani Air Force strike group included eight F-16s, four Mirage-3 aircraft and four Chinese-made JF-17 "Thunder" fighters. The other aircraft were escort fighters to protect the Pakistan strike formation from any retaliation.

"The large Pakistani attack formation was detected at 9.45 am, when they came within 10 km of the Line of Control," the TV Channel reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have a companion piece to this I think our WRH readers should see:

New Delhi and Islamabad have long been at loggerheads over the disputed Kashmir, having fought three wars over the territory. The smoldering conflict escalated on Tuesday, when the Indian military launched an airstrike, claiming it bombed out terrorist camps on a Pakistani-controlled area of Kashmir to avenge an earlier suicide blast that had killed 42 paramilitary troopers. Islamabad then announced that it downed two Indian aircraft and captured one pilot. On Wednesday, India in turn claimed that it shot down a Pakistani fighter jet and lost one of its own aircraft while repelling an attack.

RT spoke to Rajiv Sikri, Former Secretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, and Yasir Masood, Pakistani political analyst, about the underlying causes of the conflict and what to expect as it unfolds.

The issue of 'terrorist camps'
The exchange of fire started with India carrying out an airstrike at a remote valley in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, claiming it killed "a very large number" of fighters with the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist group that had assumed responsibility for the suicide bombing.

Sikri called the attack "a preemptive action" based on intelligence gathered by the Indian military. He said India wasn't aiming to foment the conflict with Pakistan, since the strike did not target either military or civilian infrastructure.

READ MORE: Domestic posturing or true escalation? Analyst fears new Kashmir incident prelude to global conflict

"Countering terror is an international obligation of all states," Sikri said. He argued Islamabad is to blame for the flare-up, as it targeted Indian servicemen in response. He accused the Pakistani government of being reluctant to uproot the terrorist group and said India should be allowed to do it on its own.

One thing is clear India will reserve the right to take action against terrorist camps and activities that Pakistan is encouraging

Islamabad and New Dehli, should be working hand in glove, to prevent the existence of any terrorist camps, on either side of the Line of Control.

I think we will know if the fragile cease-fire existing at this moment is going to hold, or be breached with impunity, by the end of the weekend.

And right now, I am praying that the people of both countries, and the Kashmiris, will want a peaceful solution which has the capacity to remain long-term.

Court to unseal Christopher Steele deposition

The depositions given by former British spy Christopher Steele and a longtime associate of John McCain must be unsealed, a federal judge said Thursday.

U.S. District Court Judge Ursula Ungaro overruled the objections of both Steele and David Kramer to make the depositions public. The pair gave testimony in a lawsuit brought against BuzzFeed in December 2018 by a Russian Internet entrepreneur.

The businessman, Aleksej Gubarev, was referenced in the infamous dossier compiled by Steele about President Trump’s alleged connections to Russia. Gubarev objected to BuzzFeed’s publishing of the dossier in January 2017, which accused him of using his companies to hack into computers owned by the Democratic National Committee.

DO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TAKE TOO MANY PRIVATE TRIPS TO ISRAEL WITH AIPAC?

One of every three members of Congress boarding a jetliner on a privately-funded all-expense paid trip overseas has Israel as their final destination. Only one out of a hundred ever visits Palestinian territories as a final destination.

AIPAC differs from many other groups funding private trips because of its foundational foreign ties. AIPAC lobbying began in earnest in the 1950s by a former employee of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Isaiah Kenen – who received ongoing payments from Israel to set up public relations and lobbying in the US. Kenen was paid by the Israeli government to receive congressional delegations in Israel after major aid packages were passed into law.

A typical AIEF itinerary consists of numerous briefings by Israeli government officials, trips to historical sites, and lavish restaurant visits and hotel stays. Absent from the itineraries are any briefings on Israel’s nuclear weapons triad or meaningful visits to Palestinian refugees.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think that every US politician who visits Israel, should be visiting Palestine also; there has to be a political solution possible, but it will not come unless our Congressional representatives see for themselves what is going on in Palestine, and speak to Palestinians.

DECADE OF ATTEMPTS BY CACI TO BLOCK ABU GHRAIB TORTURE LAWSUIT END AS JUDGE SETS TRIAL DATE

A private contractor has tried to prevent a lawsuit challenging their role in the torture of Iraqis at Abu Ghraib a total of sixteen times.
Now, the lawsuit against CACI Premier Technology, filed 13 years ago, finally has a date for a trial after a federal judge denied another motion to dismiss.

The trial is scheduled for April 23, 2019, in Alexandria, Virginia.

“More than ten years passed for us to reach this point and achieve justice,” plaintiff Salah Al-Ejaili said. “We faced a lot of obstacles along the way that we had to surpass and we stayed patient because we wanted to win our right to equality in the law.”

Al Ejaili, an Iraqi and former reporter for al Jazeera, was detained at Abu Ghraib for about six weeks. When he arrived, he was allegedly forced to strip naked and put a bag on his head as personnel shouted at him to confess.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This judge... has just become my new heroine!

We, as Americans, have to take the values we tell the world we hold dear, and constantly uphold them; violence and torture should never be tolerated, in the questioning of prisoners of war, ever, period, end of discussion, because it doesn't work (except to pry confessions from the tortured), and because it makes the world laugh at our wretched moral hypocrisy, when we do not uphold these values in all circumstances, and at all times, no matter what.

HEZBOLLAH CONDEMNS UK DECISION TO ADD IT TO TERROR LIST

Lebanon’s Hezbollah today condemned the UK’s decision to add it to its list of “terrorist groups”.

“No country in the world that embraces, finances and supports terrorism has the right to accuse the party [i.e., Hezbollah], or any resistance movement, of terrorism,” Hezbollah said in a statement.

The move, the group added, “reveals how the British government is only a follower in the service of its American master.”

Yesterday, Britain’s parliament voted to officially label Hezbollah as a “terrorist group”.

As of next Monday, membership in – or support for – the group will be considered a criminal offense in the UK, carrying sentences of up to ten years in prison.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a Christian pacifist activist who staunchly hates violence of ANY kind of used by any group to further its agenda, I would politely suggest this law coming into being in Great Britain, reveals to what degree the UK is held in held sway in the nearly hypnotic, mesmerizing trance... of Israel.

And Israel is a country which officially uses violence against the Palestinians as a form of control 24/7; I strongly reject that as well.

We need to come to the place in our evolution, as the collective family of humankind, where we sense the connection among all people of this earth, understanding that we are all brothers and sisters, no matter race, color, or creed, on this precious journey together, before we manage to blow this planet to kingdom come.

The Downside Of Libel Law: Cases Where People Who Were Sued For Telling The Truth Lost

The problem is that bad people who've done bad things can use the law of libel to cover their sins. They don't have to be rich and powerful, they just have to be willing to lie. This is a continuing problem in Britain and Canada which still have the law of libel.

When Kathy Shaidle was being sued in Canada, I wrote that the United States if very lucky to have its strictly limited law of libel. In New York Times vs. Sullivan the media won the right not to be sued for libel, in effect, even if they lie.

This is bad if you're a victim of libel, (like Steven Hatfill) but great if you're telling uncomfortable truths about someone. You may think that it would be nice to sue people who libel you, but in Commonwealth countries with no First Amendment and a tradition of suing for libel, people frequently sue, and win, against people who are telling the truth.

Did CNN Ambush Bernie Sanders With Political Operatives Disguised As Everyday People?

CNN has been accused of ambushing Bernie Sanders and tricking viewers by passing off Democratic political operatives as everyday people during a Monday evening town hall as part of his campaign for the 2020 election. Internet sleuths looked into the backgrounds of those asking Sanders various questions - most of which could be considered fair game to ask a presidential candidate, only to find that there was more than meets the eye as noted by Paste Magazine.

For example, Sanders was asked a tough question about allegations of sexual harassment on his 2016 campaign by "American University Student" Shadi Nasab. What CNN didn't mention is that she's also an intern for a large D.C. lobbying firm, Cassidy & Associates.

VENEZUELAN OPPOSITION ACCUSED OF TORCHING WAREHOUSE STORING HUMANITARIAN AID FROM MEXICO

Venezuelan authorities have accused the country’s opposition of starting a fire at a warehouse in the port city of La Guaira in the state of Vargas, which was storing vital aid from Mexico that had arrived just days earlier.

The fire broke out early Wednesday morning before firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Government officials described the incident as a result of “terrorism” by opposition members. The blaze ripped through facilities belonging to the Local Committees for Supply and Production (CLAP), the program responsible for distributing subsidized food in Venezuela.

I think a true investigation of the crime would find a far different reason for it, than that given by the Maduro government at this time.

POLICE IN CANADA ARE TRACKING PEOPLE’S ‘NEGATIVE’ BEHAVIOR IN A ‘RISK' DATABASE

Police, social services, and health workers in Canada are using shared databases to track the behaviour of vulnerable people—including minors and people experiencing homelessness—with little oversight and often without consent.

Documents obtained by Motherboard from Ontario’s Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS) through an access to information request show that at least two provinces—Ontario and Saskatchewan—maintain a “Risk-driven Tracking Database” that is used to amass highly sensitive information about people’s lives. Information in the database includes whether a person uses drugs, has been the victim of an assault, or lives in a “negative neighborhood.”

The Risk-driven Tracking Database (RTD) is part of a collaborative approach to policing called the Hub model that partners cops, school staff, social workers, health care workers, and the provincial government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This makes me very worried about Canadians who may be "targeted" by people with an axe to grind, turning in their neighbors just out of spite or contempt.

I wonder who has the job of "looking after" Christian pacifist activists, who are completely against war as an immoral way of resolving international situations, and look to document the truth as they see it.

US ARMY TAKES 50 TONS OF GOLD FROM SYRIA IN ALLEGED DEAL WITH ISIS

As the remaining pockets of ISIS fighters faced imminent defeat in northeast Syria, the United States allegedly gave them an offer they couldn’t refuse: give us your massive caches of gold — or die.

According to reports by Syrian state news agency SANA, U.S. forces struck a deal with ISIS whereby the terrorist group would give up 50 tons of gold across eastern Syria’s Deir el-Zour province in exchange for safe passage.

The precious metal, worth about $2.13 billion, was plundered by the self-designated “caliphate” as its reign of terror spread across Syria and Iraq between 2015 and 2017.

Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah reports that local sources claim U.S. Army helicopters have already transferred the gold from the U.S. forces’ base in Kobani, the Kurdish-controlled city that lies close to Syria’s northern border with Syria. A portion of the gold was also distributed to the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), which dominates the U.S.-allied Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder to what ends the remaining gold will be accountable to the people of the US.

Universal Background Check Bill Passes with Bipartisan Support

H.R.8, known as the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019, passed the US House of Representatives. The bill passed the chamber of Congress by a vote of 240 to 190. News media outlets like CNN claim that the bill passed with bipartisan support. Looking at the breakdown of the vote, the proposed law did not enjoy as much bipartisan support as CNN claimed. The bill will now move to the Senate where it most likely will be dead on arrival. The Republicans hold the majority in the Senate, and it would take a super majority of 60 to advance the bill to President Trump's desk.

If “gun-free zones” actually worked, then 98% of mass shootings wouldn’t happen in them

Since 1950, in fact, a whopping 97.8 percent of mass public shootings, or 98 percent rounded up, took place in areas where signs had been posted indicating that guns were not allowed there. The Right May Finally Get Its War on Iran

At the top of Pompeo’s list are demands that Iran end its support for Hezbollah, including its supply of ballistic missiles to the Lebanese Shiite organization, and the “halt [to] further launching or development of nuclear-capable missile systems.”

Those demands reflect an extraordinary agreement in December 2017, reported in the Israeli press, between the Trump administration and the Netanyahu government on a joint strategic work plan that included precisely those points on Pompeo’s list—countering Iranian ballistic missile development, as well as the supply of more accurate missiles to Hezbollah through Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More wars would be absolutely the most lousy way to create peace in the region; but apparently, the Trump Administration, collectively, doesn't have the smarts to figure that out, and has been so totally overwhelmed by Netanyahu's gusty rhetoric on Iran, that they cannot even imagine a moderate try at getting Iran and Israel to the negotiating table, at least on some issues of concern to both countries.

And with the bribery charges finally being brought against him, Netanyahu may well want to start such a war very quickly, so he can declare a "national emergency", postponing the April elections to another time down the road.

Just as a wounded animal is most dangerous when it has been wounded, so is a politically wounded leader at their most destructive when that has happened; perhaps, Netanyahu never really imagined it was coming, but his having to deal the fallout of today's charges may accelerate the cries for war against Iran.

He desperately needs some kind of misdirection away from himself, and toward the alleged" bad guys"; unfortunately, after the blow up of the Trump/Kim Jung Summit in Hanoi, President Trump, and particularly those around him, may well feel that they need the same kind of situation happening for Trump, to refocus the national attention elsewhere.

We may well see a series of situations ratcheting up around the Middle East, with some phony false flags to be blamed on the "usual suspects" (Iran, Syria), and off the world goes to war.

US JUDGE LETS ABU GHRAIB TORTURE CLAIMS TO GO TO TRIAL AFTER 10-YEAR DELAY

After 10 years of delay, a federal judge has ruled that three former inmates who say they were tortured at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison can go forward with their lawsuit against a military contractor.

Arlington-based CACI Premier Technology asked the judge Wednesday to dismiss the lawsuit. The company, which supplied the Army with civilian interrogators, argued that the government's refusal to declassify key facts is making it impossible to defend itself.

U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema acknowledged CACI's frustration but said the lawsuit can move forward even though the government says certain facts like the identities of the interrogators are state secrets that can't be declassified.

The case is now slated to go to trial in April. While other pretrial matters remain unresolved, Brinkema told both sides that "you should expect if you don't settle this case, it'll go to trial."

Webmaster's Commentary:

When the US tortures, or outsources torture, it does several things.

First, it makes this country look like a bunch of sniveling hypocrites, in terms of honoring human rights in the breach, rather than the observance of those rights.

Secondly, it demonstrates that with all our alleged "reverence" for the Rules of Law, torture, to get someone to say something as a "confession under duress of torture", is believed to be perfectly acceptible.

Third, it gives the leadership of any country which doesn't particularly like the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America, carte blanche to do the same thing to American civilians and military personnel. Please do think about that one for awhile.

Back in World War II, there was a German intelligence officer by the name of Hanns Scharff; The German Intelligence Officer who treated US and Brit POWs with Kindness

This man was so respected that after the war, he was invited by the American military to teach his methods to American Intelligence Officers.

It is a damned shame that the US didn't have someone with Sharff's methods, or temperament, overseeing Abu Ghraib, and bravo to Judge Brinkema's stance on this.

It never bloody should have happened in the first place.

AIRSTRIKES, TANKS HEADING TO THE BORDER AND PLANES SHOT DOWN – INDIA AND PAKISTAN ARE IN A STATE OF WAR

War has erupted in Asia. India is the second largest country in the world by population, and Pakistan is the fifth largest, and they both possess large nuclear arsenals. If this conflict continues to escalate, things could get really, really bad very quickly. On Wednesday, military aircraft were shot down by both sides, there was shelling across the border by both armies, and in recent hours videos have been posted of Pakistani tanks and Indian tanks both heading to the border. Once one army crosses the “Line of Control”, it is going to be very difficult to get the two sides to sit down at the negotiating table. War is one of the elements of “the perfect storm” that I have been warning you about, and I have a feeling that this is just the beginning of the conflict that we are going to see in 2019.

The Pakistani military was greatly embarrassed by the successful Indian airstrikes on Monday, and on Tuesday military aircraft from both sides were shot down…

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pakistani Prime Minister Khan has said, publicly, that this pilot will be returned tomorrow, as a "good faith" gesture to India; I do not know if it will be enough, soon enough, to call off the "dogs of war" on either side.

Mainstream Media Blacks Out The Democrats’ Infanticide Vote

There was nothing to contrast because, as far as I can tell, CNN doesn’t feature a single story on their website regarding the Democratic Party blocking of Sasse’s Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would have saved newborn babies who survive abortion attempts from negligent homicide.

CNN didn’t even bother producing one of those predictably prejudiced pieces, like the ones we saw in Politico or the Washington Post yesterday, mischaracterizing Sasse’s bill as “anti-abortion.” They didn’t bother with the “conservatives pounce!” stories, like the Daily Beast or Vox did. They didn’t bother, like so many others, to distract from the number of viable babies being aborted by stressing only 1.5 percent of the procedures are post-20 weeks’ gestation, rather than pointing out there are somewhere around 15,000 to 18,000 aborted every year. They just ignored it.

Facebook Eliminated Over One Billion Page-Views to Conservative Websites in 2018 – Now, Thanks to James O’Keefe, We Have Proof This Was The Plan

Facebook has been shutting down traffic to conservative websites since the 2016 election.

Conservatives dominated social media in 2016 where they were able to get the truth uncensored. Facebook ended that in 2017 and 2018.

LIMITING YOUR DIGITAL FOOTPRINTS IN A SURVEILLANCE STATE

In China, evading the watchful eyes of the government sometimes feels like an exercise in futility. The place is wired with about 200 million surveillance cameras, Beijing controls the telecom companies, and every internet company has to hand over data when the police want it. They also know where journalists live because we register our address with police. In Shanghai, the police regularly come to my apartment; once they demanded to come inside.

That said, China is big, and the government less than competent. Sometimes the police who come to my door have no idea I’m a journalist. Usually the higher-ups who deal with my visa don’t know about the house visits. The lack of coordination means one of the best things to do is to try to slip through the cracks. Basically, protect yourself but also leave an innocent trace.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF you think this kind of surveillance won't be coming to the US soon, you had better revisit that conclusion, and fast!!!!

RETURNING SYRIAN REFUGEES WERE FLEEING US PROXY WAR, NOT “ASSAD”

SOURCE: NEW EASTERN OUTLOOK
A recent BBC segment titled, “The Syrians returning home after years of fleeing war,” contradicted 8 years of the British state media’s narratives regarding the war in Syria.

A synopsis of the short BBC video segment would read:

After years of people fleeing Syria and its civil war, there are now long queues to enter the country each day. Jordan opened its Jaber border crossing last October after Syrian government troops defeated rebels who had controlled the other side.

Now several thousand people pass through each day. They include small-scale merchants reviving cross-border trade and returning Syrian refugees who hope to rebuild their lives.

Huge numbers of Syrians have already returned to Syria – specifically to areas government forces have cleared of Western-armed and backed terrorists. This includes Aleppo, Homs, and Daraa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Amazing, for an institution with so much trust by brother and sister Brits, and beyond, that we now see the BBC lying their collective heads off, 8 years on, about from what these Syrian refugees were actually fleeing.

OWNERS OF COMPANY THAT BOUGHT ABORTED BABY PARTS FROM PLANNED PARENTHOOD ARE ARRESTED

The arrest of Roberto and William Isaias was gratifying to Operation Rescue, which published an investigative research report on October 27, 2016 – just days before the Presidential Election that put Donald J. Trump in office – that detailed their crimes in Ecuador, dubious dealings with the Obama administration, their business with Planned Parenthood and the aborted baby body parts trade.

“We understood that this family was in the U.S. under suspicious circumstances, and that they had committed crimes in Ecuador and Southern California,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We had hoped that one day they would return to Ecuador so that justice could be done, but their arrests still took us by surprise.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note their connections to Obama and Clinton.

From where I sit, this was a very excellent "collar" , and one wonders just what they will say, to get a better "deal" when pressed about how Obama and Clinton helped them.

Facebook Whistleblower Reveals "Routine Supression" Of Conservative Content

A former Facebook employee turned whistleblower has revealed that the social media giant engages in "routine suppression" of conservative pages through various methods, confirming internal documents and presentation materials Project Veritas obtained from a Facebook insider.

The employee, who left Facebook in 2018 and was later hired by Project Veritas, along with screenshots from a Facebook workstation "show the specific technical actions taken against political figures, as well as "[e]xisting strategies" taken to combat political speech," according to Veritas, such as "deboosting" - by which the visibility of certain content is reduced algorithmically based on certain keywords.

MICROPLASTICS HAVE BEEN FOUND IN OUR DEEPEST OCEAN ANIMALS

The deepest marine organisms known to humans are contaminated by plastics, according to a study published Wednesday.

Researchers presented “the deepest record of microplastic ingestion, indicating it is highly likely there are no marine ecosystems left that are not impacted by plastic pollution,” according to the paper in Royal Society Open Science.

Led by Alan Jamieson, a marine ecologist at Newcastle University, the team examined the guts of small organisms called lysianassid amphipods—colloquially known as “sea fleas”—collected from six deep ocean habitats.

Though the trenches ranged in location from Japanese to Chilean waters, all of them were within the “hadal zone,” meaning they were at least 6,000 meters under the sea. The study even includes amphipods collected at Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, which is the lowest known point in the seabed at 10,890 meters below the ocean surface.

WATCH: COP PUNCHES HANDCUFFED TEEN THEN FELLOW COP GETS CAUGHT TRYING TO DELETE VIDEO

Miami, FL — Two corrupt cops have been charged with crimes this week after one of them punched a handcuffed teen for no reason and the other helped him cover it up.

On Tuesday, Sgt. Manuel Regueiro and his partner in crime, Officer Alexander Gonzalez were arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery and evidence tampering respectively.

Despite not punching the handcuffed teen, Gonzalez is actually in more trouble than Regueiro because he was caught tampering with the evidence of the crime which is a third-degree felony. According to authorities, Gonzalez tried to destroy the video evidence of his friend punching the teen by removing the batteries from cameras. Obviously, that does not remove the footage, so their ill-thought out plan was a disaster before it began.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder if these two "peace officers" (if one can call them that, after this disaster) were trained by the IDF?

Did you know that many Florida police, and police from other states, have been trained by the IDF: WITH WHOM ARE MANY U.S. POLICE DEPARTMENTS TRAINING? WITH A CHRONIC HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATOR – ISRAEL

This means that, upon coming back from their training, these police will most probably treat the people they arrest much like the way the IDF treats Palestinians; abominably.

FTC SLAMS TIKTOK WITH RECORD FINE FOR SPYING ON PRE-TEENS

HIT OR MISS
TikTok, the video-sharing social media app that works like a cursed reincarnation of Vine, just got slapped with a $5.7 million fine for collecting personal information about its pre-teen users.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced on Wednesday that TikTok agreed to the settlement after allegations that the app knowingly and illegally stored the names, email addresses, and locations of users under the age of 13. The FTC’s fine is the largest to ever be imposed for a violation of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), according to the FTC’s statement — and a heartening sign that regulators are unwilling to cede privacy protections for young internet users.

PARENTAL CONSENT
Part of the reason for the severe fine might be because TikTok received thousands of complaints from concerned parents without changing its business practices.

Here’s How You’ll Die When the SHTF (and How to Prevent Your Untimely Demise): This article was originally published by Daisy Luther at The Organic Prepper

When it hits the fan…I mean REALLY hits the fan in a permanent kind of way, the most likely outcome is death.

That’s not pretty, and I’m well aware of it. I always try to be positive and optimistic, because for me, preparedness is the ultimate act of optimism, but sometimes we have to look at the numbers and face some things that are pretty terrifying. The first reality check is that some research says that only 3 million Americans are preppers. That means that 315 million Americans are not preppers. Some experts predict that within 30 days of the power going out, 50% of Americans will be dead. Within a year, an astounding 90% of the population will be dead.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Daisy Luther is a person for whom I have the highest respect, in terms of her understanding of what it takes to stay alive in a crisis.

I am not a "gloom and doom" person, but with so many potential hot spots raging on the planet, reasonably attempting to keep yourself, and the people you love, safe, is a very good thing to do.

An ARMS RACE: Deadly AI Tanks, The U.S. Military’s Next Project

The United States military is going to attempt to build deadly artificial intelligence-driven tanks. Dubbed Project ATLAS, this type of tank would lead to the first autonomous ground combat vehicles.

According to Quartz, the Advanced Targeting and Lethality Automated System (ATLAS) would theoretically give a tank the ability to do everything necessary to take down a target except pull the trigger. A human operator will still need to actually fire the weapon that will kill another human being. The United States Army has already called on experts in the field to help it develop this deadly technology. Eventually, it will allow a ground combat vehicle such a tank to automatically detect, target, and engage enemy combatants – without the risk of the operator losing their life.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is terrifyingly amazing, how soon science fiction becomes science fact.

But the question I must ask is, how are these units going to protect us better than a slightly more-cooperative, less-unhinged foreign policy, which would keep the American military out of harm's way?!? To me, that would be the sensible thing to do.

Because right now, I am seeing geopolitical decisions being created in the bowels of power in DC, and also seeing their trajectory , which will have the creation of the next world war written all over them.

You can laugh if you want to; but I would suggest that the laughter will soon be replaced by a sense of dread when the US returns to conscription, which it may well do under President Trump.

AP’s articles on Ilhan Omar left out much of the story

The Associated Press sent out two versions of a story on responses to Ilhan Omar’s comments regarding the Israel lobby. Both were entitled “Omar’s edgy Israel tweet no surprise to some back home.” One version was slanted; the other made that one look good.

As we’ll see below, such distortion on Israel-Palestine isn’t unusual for AP.

NPR reporter defends one-sided report on Ilhan Omar

In response to an email I sent complaining that NPR had aired a one-sided, slanted report on the Ilhan Omar controversy, reporter Susan Davis replied that their coverage was “fair.” She emailed that the controversy was Omar’s fault, calling it “a self-inflicted PR mess by a sitting member of Congress.”

The report had been aired on NPR’s All Things Considered program, reportedly “the most listened-to, afternoon drive-time, news radio program in the country.”

Let’s look at what constituted Omar’s alleged “self-inflicted PR mess”: she mentioned the influence of a special interest lobby on politicians’ stances.

This is a widely understood reality. Politicians and others frequently discuss the influence of the NRA, the pharmaceutical lobby, and other special interest groups. Democrats periodically call out conservative lobbies; Republicans do the same for liberal ones. This is considered politics as usual.

That’s what Omar did.

CNN Admits Failure to Identify Dem Plants in Bernie's Town Hall

CNN on Wednesday admitted its failure to fully identify the backgrounds of attendees who asked questions during Bernie Sanders' town hall discussion Monday night, Paste Magazine reports.

"Though we said at the beginning of the Town Hall that the audience was made up of Democrats and Independents, we should have more fully identified any political affiliations," the cable news network said in a statement.

Paste first pointed out at least four attendees have deep roots in the D.C. lobby and Democratic Party, including Tara Ebersole, who asked about Sanders' universal healthcare plan.

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer introduced her as a "former biology professor" but her LinkedIn page claims she currently works as chair of the Baltimore County Democratic Party.

The Looming U.S. Government & Private “Debt Trap” Threat

The signals from financial markets today indicate that we could be on the verge of a new credit crisis. The looming debt trap threat has ensnared millions of Americans, and they firmly believe that their government (which is $22 trillion in debt) will somehow protect them and save them from themselves.

There will come a time when no one will loan the government any more money. When that time comes, if you are dependent on the government for either welfare or a salary, you’ll be in a world of panic. But it won’t be much easier for those who are dependent on themselves either. At that point in time, the government will attempt to steal more money from producers to try to make up for their horrible spending habits. The economy will plunge into ruins taking society and the American standard of living with it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One of the single most important things you can do right now, is to start getting your credit cards payed down, or payed off.

The "Disintegration" Of Global Capitalism Could Unleash World War 3, Warns Top EU Economist

A senior European Commission economist has warned that a Third World War is an extremely “high probability” in coming years due to the disintegration of global capitalism.

In a working paper published last month, Professor Gerhard Hanappi argued that since the 2008 financial crash, the global economy has moved away from “integrated” capitalism into a “disintegrating” shift marked by the same sorts of trends which preceded previous world wars.

Professor Hanappi is Jean Monnet Chair for Political Economy of European Integration?—?an European Commission appointment?—?at the Institute for Mathematical Models in Economics at the Vienna University of Technology. He also sits on the management committee of the Systemic Risks expert groupin the EU-funded European Cooperation in Science and Technology research network.

In his new paper, Hanappi concludes that global conditions bear unnerving parallels with trends before the outbreak of the first and second world wars.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I do not challenge this EU writer that what he sees happening, is certainly happening; but that being said, however, it is the problem of global capitalism failing, massively, particularly for those in society who are the most vulnerable, which has brought us to this point in human history.

Pakistan To Release Captured Indian Pilot As "Goodwill Gesture"

Before international intermediaries even had a chance to step in to try to quell the escalating conflict, the Indian military started digging bunkers and deploying tanks along the border with Pakistan as the Hindu nationalist government of Narendra Modi - who is struggling to revive sagging poll numbers in the final weeks before a crucial election - told Islamabad that it would not negotiate for the release of captured pilot Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was taken into custody by Pakistani jawans after his plane was shot down Wednesday following an aerial skirmish that led to downed planes on both sides.

Fearing not only a military escalation, but also the pressing financial economic concerns as his country seeks another bailout from the IMF, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said during a joint session of Parliament on Thursday that the captured pilot would be released as a "gesture of goodwill" on Friday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prime Minister Khan has got to be doing a lot more than just this, if he thinks that such and act alone, will cause the Indian government to relent here.

There need to be ministerial talks at the highest level, to begin to get the process of the final resolution on Kashmir going.

This will take a great deal of moral courage on both sides, as I would imagine the process will be a referendum asking Kashmiris if they want to stay with India; become an independent country; or join with Pakistan.

I would much prefer seeing this worked out sensibly, in a series of negotiations, rather than see Kashmir bleed yet one more time, over angers which are, ultimately, not the fault of the Kashmiri people; India has promised this referendum for years, but never seemed to get the least bit serious about it; now would be a very good time for them to get serious, and then respect the outcome, however that comes down.

Ralph Northam's Wife Schools Black Kids On Slavery Using Raw Cotton

Virginia's first lady Pam Northam has come under fire after handing raw cotton to two black eighth-graders during a tour of the Governor's mansion, and suggested the students imagine what it was like under slavery to pick said cotton, according to the Washington Post. One of the students was the daughter of a Virginia state employee.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What in the name of Heaven is wrong with this woman?!?

Is she so completely deaf, dumb, and blind, to how this was going to make these kids feel?!?

These kids know their history a lot better than she does, that is for certain.

But the lessons these kids need to learn, are the new skill sets necessary for getting a really good job today; and imagining picking cotton, is NOT one of those skills.

Israeli Attorney General Indicts Netanyahu On Charges Of Bribery, Fraud & Breach Of Trust

Three months after Israeli police recommended that the country's attorney general pursue charges against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his alleged involvement in "Bezeq Walla Affair", it appears an indictment is finally being handed down on Thursday, much to the longtime leader's chagrin.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This indictment comes at a crossroads for Israel, with a "geopolitically wounded leader", in Netanyahu, now in charge right before the elections due in April.

Wounded animals (and geopolitically wounded people), are very dangerous; I shudder to think what Netanyahu has in mind to do between tomorrow, 1 March, and the election which I believe is due 9 April

Has Trump Overplayed His Hand With Saudi Arabia?

Authored by Tim Daiss via Oilprice.com,

Last year, President Donald Trump successfully convinced Saudi Arabia to help keep a lid on global oil prices by ramping up production. The Saudis acquiescence to Trump’s tweets at the time were likely appeasement to the president for placing fresh sanctions against Saudi Arabia’s middle eastern nemesis, Iran. Moreover, most concede that Riyadh was a deciding factor in swaying the president to withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear accord with Iran. Consequently, Saudi Arabia’s kowtow to Trumps’ tweets was a returned favor.

However, when Trump later granted waivers that allowed several countries to keep importing Iranian crude, oil prices started their nosedive during the last quarter of the year, catching Saudi Arabia flat-footed, and according to many accounts furious at the president for what they saw as a betrayal of trust.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I sometimes wish President Trump had a sense of the "bigger picture", when it comes to the global economy; and right now, in terms of international relations, the US looks like the proverbial bull in the china shop, threatening wars against any country the President doesn't particularly like, or more importantly, wants to regime change.

Sometimes, it appears, he truly believes that he can do that all by himself.

MAJOR REVELATION, FORMER NSA AND CIA: “WHY THE DNC WAS NOT HACKED BY THE RUSSIANS”

The FBI, CIA and NSA claim that the DNC emails published by WIKILEAKS on July 26, 2016 were obtained via a Russian hack, but more than three years after the alleged “hack” no forensic evidence has been produced to support that claim. In fact, the available forensic evidence contradicts the official account that blames the leak of the DNC emails on a Russian internet “intrusion”. The existing evidence supports an alternative explanation–the files taken from the DNC between 23 and 25May 2016 and were copied onto a file storage device, such as a thumb drive.

This 1995 Noam Chomsky Quote Prophetically Defined Today’s News Media

Noam Chomsky’s phrase, ‘if you believe something different, you wouldn’t be sitting where you’re sitting’ sums up the propaganda system of the corporate media today.

Earlier this month, Dutch historian Rutger Bregman, author of ‘Utopia For Realists’, was interviewed by the high-profile Fox News presenter Tucker Carlson. During a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos in Janary, Bregman had bluntly told billionaires that they should stop avoiding taxes and pay their fair share:

‘We gotta be talking about taxes. That’s it. Taxes, taxes, taxes. All the rest is bullshit, in my opinion.’
