Hillary’s New Book Now Has A Rating Of 4.9 Out Of 5 Stars (After Hundreds Of 1 Star Reviews Were Deleted)

Hillary Clinton’s new book entitled “What Happened” is the hottest selling book in America at this moment, and thanks to the deletion of approximately 800 one star reviews, the remaining reviews make it sound like it is a masterpiece. As I write this article, “What Happened” currently has an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars on Amazon. Of course just like Clinton’s campaign, that rating is completely fraudulent, but if this really is Hillary’s “final chapter” I think that it is somehow appropriate that she goes out this way. The Clintons were frauds from the very beginning, and so a fake rating for a book full of lies about a campaign run by con artists is just par for the course.

UN List of Companies Linked to Illegal Settlements in Occupied Palestine, to be Published Despite Israeli, US Pressure

According to a report published Tuesday by Israel’s Channel 2, the full list will be published in December, and will include some of the biggest firms in the Israeli industry as well as major US companies, a translation of the report from Times of Israel said.

Some of the international companies on the list reportedly include Coca-Cola, TripAdvisor, Airbnb, Priceline, and Caterpillar, in addition to Israeli companies such as pharmaceutical giant Teva, the national phone company Bezeq, bus company Egged, the national water company Mekorot, and the country’s two largest banks, Hapoalim and Leumi.

The list was recently delivered to the Foreign Ministry, the report said.

Last year, the United Nations Human Rights Council passed a resolution to support forming a database of all companies conducting business in illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, amid fierce opposition by the United States and Israel.

Iraqi parliament votes to remove kirkuk governor from office: lawmakers

Iraq’s parliament voted on Thursday to remove the governor of Kirkuk from office following a request from Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, according to several lawmakers who attended the vote.

The decision to remove the governor, Najmaddin Kareem, comes after Kirkuk - an oil-rich province claimed by both the central government in Baghdad and the autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq - decided to take part in a referendum set for Sept. 25 on Kurdish independence.

Perhaps someone should have mentioned this possibility before the concept of an Independent Kurdistan, created to balkanize Iraq, was signed off on by the Pentagon, State Department, and White House.

Iraq could well have a new civil war on its hands, insuring a more permanent, and muscular, US troop strenth here.

But hey; this is all about Kirkuk's oil; who controls it is of no real interest to the Deep State in America, as long as the US gets to insure that all the oil in Kirkuk is controlled by US-centric corporations, and is only sold for the US dollar.

U.S. must consider broader Iran threats when formulating new strategy: Tillerson

The United States must consider the full threat it says Iran poses to the Middle East when formulating its new policy toward Tehran, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Thursday, adding that Iran had breached the spirit of a 2015 nuclear deal.

Tillerson, made the comments during a visit to Britain to see Prime Minister Theresa May and foreign minister Boris Johnson. The trip was billed as focusing on the relief effort after Hurricane Irma, how to respond to North Korea’s nuclear test, and resolving the political deadlock in Libya.

But he was outspoken in his criticism of Iran when asked whether he believed it was meeting the obligations of a 2015 international nuclear agreement designed to curb an Iranian nuclear program in return for lifting most Western sanctions.

Tillerson cited the preface of the nuclear deal, which calls on Iran to contribute positively to regional security.

Secretary Tillersone, have you absolutely and completely gone barking-dog mad, in making these accusations against Iran?!?

They utterly defy logic.

And what do you mean when you state, with absolutely zero evidence, that "Iran had breached the spirit of a 2015 nuclear deal."

Sir, can you possibly please articulate the meaning of this accusation, using Mr. tougue and Mr. lips?!?

Because as far as I can see, there is no "there" here. It is a speciously meaningless accusation.

And to what specific allegations are you referring, regarding their "malicious" use of cyberactivities?!? You make this allegation, as though the US and the NSA isn't doing this kind of action, this 24/7 against countries we don't very much like.

And let's stop, please whining and moaning about Iran's "aggressively developing ballistic missiles"; as you well know, Secretary Tillerson, ballistic missiles were absolutely never a part of the P5+1 agreement to begin with.

Yes, the world knows that Israel has been cheerleading for regime change in Tehran for a very long time; but I would very, very much like you to think seriously of the broader imlications of such a US pre-emptive war against Iran.

And please understand; Israel wants regime change in this country, but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

And what, Secretary Tillerson, is Russia going to do when we invade Iran?!? Is the Duma going to hold hands, and collectively sing "Kuymbya"?!?!?

I think not, particularly in light of the reality that Russian military and civilian leadership has stated, time and time again, that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to its aid mlitarily.

Are you really contemplating war with Russia over Iran?!?

Because the ultimate outcome of such a war may well be both catastrophic... and irreversible.

I would sincerely like to believe that these remarks about Iran were for foreign, rather than domestic, consumption, plumbing the depths of what the UK would be ready to do in participating in a US attack against Iran; because if you believe, sir, for one millisecond, that you have brought the American people on board for a war against Iran with these stupid accusations which have utterly no basis in fact, when we have been so lied to about the reasons for the wars in Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq, you are very, badly mistaken.

How NBA star Dennis Rodman came to stand between the world and nuclear war

Earlier this year Rodman’s agent said that his client helped convince North Korea to release American college student Otto Warmbier before his death. Now, nearly everyone else involved with Warmbier’s release has denied that Rodman had much to do with it, but the mere fact that he was in position to take credit is proof enough that he has become the unlikely face of US-North Korean relations. As North Korea expert Ken Gause said to Time that “he’s not the best ambassador we could have but it’s who we have.”

In just about any other situation, Gause would be correct in describing Rodman as an utterly inappropriate ambassador – as the man himself admits “[Kim and I] ride horses, we hang out, we go skiing, we hardly ever talk politics and that’s the good thing.” Rodman also fundamentally lacks the tact and restraint required in most diplomatic situations, and has a tendency to make events all about himself.

Myanmar’s Military, Political Leaders United Against Rohingya ‘Threat’

Myanmar’s de facto political ruler, Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi, and the military that long kept her party out of power, seem to be increasingly unified as international attention on the country shifts from its past troubles to the ongoing Rohingya crisis.

The Rohingya, mostly Muslim but also including a Hindu minority are stateless people, denied citizenship under Myanmar law. This puts them in a very difficult situation, where Myanmar’s ruling NLD Party considers them “illegal immigrants,” but by and large they aren’t from anywhere else.

Over 6,000 US Troops Set for Deployment to Afghanistan

Adding on to the 3,500 troop escalation already announced for the Afghan War, officials are now reporting that another 6,000-plus ground troops from Fort Carson are also slated for a future deployment to the country.

It’s part of the increasingly complicated way in which the US reports, or rather, doesn’t report, on troop levels and details in its ongoing wars. The report on the Fort Carson troops includes a lot of questions, including timing of deployment, and how many are new deployments,as opposed to replacing existing troops simply rotating out of the country.

Those are big questions, and there are simply no answers. The Pentagon isn’t officially confirming any of the details on this matter, and while those familiar say the deployment is likely to happen sometime in early 2018, even that is just speculation.

House backs $1.2T spending bill with more money for military

The Republican-led House on Thursday passed a sweeping $1.2 trillion spending bill that provides billions more dollars for the military while sparing medical research and popular community development programs from deep cuts sought by President Donald Trump.
The vote was 211-198 for the massive measure that wrapped the 12 annual spending bills into one in advance of the end of the budget year on Sept. 30. Even though the Senate still must act, the government will keep operating through Dec. 8, thanks to legislation Congress passed last week and sent to Trump.
House members spent the past two weeks debating the measure’s $500 billion for domestic agencies. GOP leaders then merged that domestic spending package with an earlier House measure that would give record budget increases to the Pentagon and provide a $1.6 billion down payment for Trump’s wall along the U.S.-Mexico border that he repeatedly has insisted Mexico would finance.

Trump Extends Post-9/11 State of Emergency

President Trump has become the third president over the course of 16 consecutive years to extend the “temporary state of national emergency” which was imposed in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks.

The state of emergency gives the president considerable leeway to bypass legal limits surrounding the military and the use of the National Guard and reserve troops. Exactly how much this power is used is itself unclear, as presidents have for years ignored a legal requirement to offer reports to Congress every six months on the matter.

Officially, Presidents Bush, Obama, and now Trump have defended the extension on the grounds that terrorism still exists and is a thing. Legally speaking, however, the emergency declaration was intended to give the president flexibility until Congress had time to act after 9/11.

Yemen's Houthi leader says could target Saudi oil tankers if Hodeida attacked

Yemen's Houthi leader Abdel-Malek al-Houthi said on Thursday his group could target Saudi oil tankers should Saudi Arabia attack Yemen's main port at Hodeida.

"We could target Saudi oil tankers and we could do anything, we have not done this before," he said.

In a televised speech, the leader also said his group's ballistic missiles were capable of reaching the United Arab Emirates' capital of Abu Dhabi and anywhere inside Saudi Arabia.

A couple of years ago, Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman must have thought that a military attack against Yemen, to eradicate the Shia Houthi rebels there, would be a "walk in the park" for the Saudi military.

However, thousands of deaths of innocents, and immesurable joint Saudi-US warcrimes later, coupled with successful attacks against Saudi Arabia proper, if he is in any way sane, he may just be thinking differently.

These new revelations in fact might be the worst kept secrets in Washington, D.C. but now rank-and-file FBI agents want the Bureau to come clean on its relationship with the author of the problematic Trump dossier, former British spy Christopher Steele.

True Pundit first received intelligence from FBI sources in March that the Bureau had struck a financial deal with Steele in 2016.

ISRAEL SECURITY FORCES ARE TRAINING AMERICAN COPS DESPITE HISTORY OF RIGHTS ABUSES

IT’S NOT UNCOMMON for residents of America’s most heavily policed neighborhoods to describe their local cops as “an occupying force.” Judging by where many U.S. police forces get their training, the description seems apt.

Thousands of American law enforcement officers frequently travel for training to one of the few countries where policing and militarism are even more deeply intertwined than they are here: Israel.

SAUDI ARABIA CRACKS DOWN ON DISSENTING CLERICS AMID RUMORS OF CROWN PRINCE’S RISE TO THRONE

SAUDI ARABIA ARRESTED A trio of prominent clerics last weekend, a sign that the kingdom may be preparing for the formal ascendance of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, known as MBS, who is a key decision-maker on the country’s domestic and international affairs but is technically subservient to his father, King Salman.

Salman al-Odah, Awad al-Qarni and Ali al-Omary were arrested with little explanation over the weekend, but activists suspect that their failure to follow MBS’s hawkish line on Qatar played a role in their imprisonment.

Human rights activists told the Wall Street Journal that al-Odah’s arrest came after he declined to come out in support of the Saudi government’s actions against Qatar.

Google's depression tool could lead to dangerous over-treatment and addiction to antidepressants, expert warns

Professor warns that the tool will lead to over-diagnosis, over-prescribing and misuse of data.

He says Google worked with antidepressant drug-maker Pfizer to make quiz that gives false positives.

Others say the tool is low-risk, and in line with national efforts to screen for depression.

Google's screening tool that enables people to check online whether they are clinically depressed could do more harm than good, one expert has warned.
Last month, the tech giant released a self-assessment quiz, called the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), which pops up as a result for the search query 'Am I depressed?' on a computer or cell phone.

Google developed its test in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) but one professor claims that the quiz could just lead to over-treatment of depression amid the US's opioid epidemic.

The U.S. House sent a strong message of rebuke to Attorney General Jeff Sessions on civil asset forfeiture last night. The House adopted three amendments offered to an appropriations bill that prohibit the Department of Justice from using funds to increase certain federal and local forfeiture practices.

Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) summed up the problem with civil asset forfeiture in one sentence. “It is an unconstitutional practice that is used to violate the due process rights of innocent people,” he said from the House floor.

This bipartisan showing was in response to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ July announcement to expand the use of civil forfeiture. Sessions’ action was a reversal of a 2015 Attorney General Eric Holder policy that prevented local law enforcement from using federal forfeiture laws to circumvent more restrictive state forfeiture laws.

The House votes also signaled that Congress remains committed to comprehensive civil forfeiture reform.

Trump's base woke up to a fairly surprising flip-flop this morning from the White House on DACA and the infamous, beautiful border wall which was discussed repeatedly on the campaign trail throughout 2016. It all started when Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after their White House dinner with the President last night:

North Korea Preparing For ICBM Launch: Japan Press

Gold spiked and USDJPY tumbled as headlines from Japan's Nikkei newspaper confirmed US military officials' observations last night that North Korea is said to show signs of missile launch preparation.

According to the Nikkei, citing an unidentified Japanese government official, the missile is being prepared for launch has engine for liquid fuel, suggesting missile is an ICBM. It adds that the missile is said to be fueled already, ready for launch. As Japan's Asahi further notes, the North Korean missile prep may be for a Hwason 14 ICBM and adds that missile prep is said to have started on Wednesday.

Is Israel Is Getting Ready for a Major War? And No One Is Talking About It

Beginning last Monday, soldiers and reservists alike practiced simulating a 10-day-long war with Hezbollah, an Iranian-sponsored Shi’a militant group located mainly in Lebanon. Israel even prepared two field hospitals, as well as trucks and helicopters for evacuating simulated casualties.

According to the Independent, the drill began with small border skirmishes and escalated into a full-on war with the aim of completely obliterating the Lebanese opponents. Even the soldiers playing the role of Hezbollah were to be dressed in the group’s traditional attire and will don their yellow and green flag.

“The purpose of the drill is to test the fitness of the Northern Command and the relevant battalions during an emergency,” one IDF officer told Haaretz.

The drill, known as the “Light of the Grain” drill, took 18 months to plan. It utilizes fighter planes, ships, submarines, drones, cyber and canine units, and Israel’s missile defense system.

After Being Turned Down by Iraq’s Parliament Yesterday, the Kurdistan Barazani Regime Now Tries to Make Kurdistan Independent by Force

fter Yesterday’s unanimous vote on not allowing Kurdistan’s separation by the Iraqi parliament, forces of the so-called Peshmerga militias (armed forces of the Iraqi Kurdistan’s ruling Barazani regime) suddenly started to spread in the areas of of Kirkuk, Daquq and Tuz Khurmatu.

“These forces did not come for the purpose of the referendum, but to suppress the Arabs and Turkmens, as well as to enforce the will of the Barazani regime through arms, tanks and armored vehicles”, said Mohammad Al Bayati, the Turkmen leader of the armed wing of Badr Organization, an Iraqi political party.

Al Bayati called on the Iraqi government to take responsibility for its citizens or resign.

It is noteworthy that in late August, the Council of the Iraqi province of Kirkuk, voted in favor of inclusion of its territory in the forthcoming referendum on the independence of the northern Iraqi region of Kurdistan, scheduled to take place on September 25th.

Ideally, sanctions should be abolished, prohibited for any reasons.

They’re counterproductive, achieving pain and suffering alone for ordinary people in targeted countries, nothing else.

As long as they’re permitted, legally by Security Council members alone, illegal unilaterally, sanction America for its high crimes of war and against humanity, not North Korea, threatening no other countries - even though a US veto would block adoption.

A symbolic 14 - 1 statement would send a powerful message, especially if enough world community nations no longer are willing to put up with endless US wars on humanity.

The leadership of any country threatened by Washington would be foolhardy not to seek powerful weapons and munitions for self-defense.

Pakistan kicks out medical charity MSF from country's tribal region

Pakistan on Wednesday told medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres’ (MSF) to stop work and leave its impoverished tribal areas that border Afghanistan, the health organization said, ending its 14 year stay in the volatile region.

MSF works out of two health facilities in the Kurram district of Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) region, which has been plagued by militancy over the past decade and was the location of many U.S. drone strikes targeting commanders from al Qaeda and other militant groups.

Though security has improved in FATA in recent years, sectarian militant attacks, primarily targeting Shi‘ite Muslims, still occur. Twin blasts in the Kurram’s most populous town, Parachinar killed more than 75 people in June.

Local officials say MSF provides essential healthcare facilities in FATA, an area with some of Pakistan’s poorest healthcare and lowest literacy rates.

United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia Threaten U.S. Interests And Mideast Peace With Attack On Qatar

Oil-rich Saudi Arabia wants to rule the Persian Gulf and the United Arab Emirates wants to rule Riyadh, indirectly, at least. Both states desire to impose their will on neighboring Qatar, whose independent foreign policy irritates entitled elites not used to criticism let alone opposition. But so far the two nations’ efforts have done little more than strengthen Qatar’s independence and expose their own hypocrisy. Washington should continue to mediate, while making clear that the fault mostly lies with the aggressive and repressive Saudi-Emirati axis.

China Backs UN Call for Justice in Yemen; US, Saudis Object to Move

Calls by the UN human rights chief to set up an international inquiry into war crimes committed in the Saudi War in Yemen are nothing new. A sudden endorsement of the move by China may give this effort a new lease on life, however, after being quietly killed in recent years.

This is the third straight year right chief Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein had made such a call, and the last two times, the US and Saudi Arabia buried the idea, agreeing the Saudis could investigate themselves in the war. The civilian deaths have continued to mount.

The latest draft, from Canada and the Netherlands, was seen as likely heading to the same fate, but China’s endorsement, and declaration that they believe the resolution might help push end the war, gives it yet more credibility.

Fingers crossed that Chinese involvement on this issue, at the UN level, will give it more street cred, and at least slow down the slaughter/genocide in which the US and Saudi Arabia have been indulging in Yemen.

Justice Dept Orders Russia’s RT to Register as a ‘Foreign Agent’

The latest in a series of moves which seems destined to worsen US-Russian relations, the Justice Department has ordered Russia’s RT television news network to register itself as a “foreign agent,” forcing it to make broad disclosures on contacts within the United States.

This registration is an idea that had long been pushed by Congressional Democrats who accuse RT of being a “propaganda” network. The Foreign Agent Registration Act was meant to target foreign lobbyists and politicians.

It’s virtually unheard of to force a journalistic outlet to register, and the move was quickly condemned by RT as “overreaching.” That the Justice Department made such a move at all is a surprise, and indicative of continued hostility toward Russia.

Israeli prime minister backs Kurdish independence in Iraq  

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that Israel supports the establishment of an independent Kurdistan ahead of a controversial referendum on Iraqi Kurdish independence which Baghdad rejects.

An independent Kurdistan would give Israel an ally in the region and undermine Iranian influence in Iraq.

"Israel supports the legitimate efforts of the Kurdish people to attain a state of its own," Mr Netanyahu's office said.

The Pentagon's $2.2 Billion Soviet Arms Pipeline Flooding Syria

he defeat of Islamic State in Syria is reliant on a questionable supply-line, funnelling unprecedented quantities of weapons and ammunition from Eastern Europe to some 30,000 anti-ISIS rebel fighters.

Armed with AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenades fresh from state-owned production lines and stockpiles of the Balkans, Central Europe and increasingly the former Soviet Union, these US-backed troops are spearheading the battle to reclaim Raqqa, the capital of the so-called caliphate, and liberate other areas of Syria held by ISIS.

But the flow of weapons to these Pentagon-backed militia depends on misleading official paperwork, an investigation by the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, BIRN, and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, OCCRP, has uncovered.

The operation has been criticised by arms transfer experts and even worried officials in Berlin, who have seen large quantities of weapons passing through US military bases in Germany on the way to Syria.

The "good reason" is the alleged fight against ISIS in Syria; however, the "real reason" for drowning these jihadists in Soviet-era weapons is, again, still, the American goal of regime change in Damascus.

Israel's Netanyahu says will meet Trump in New York next week

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday he would meet U.S. President Donald Trump later this month during a visit to New York, where he will address the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 26.

Netanyahu spoke to reporters accompanying him on a trip to Latin America before his plane left Tel Aviv for Argentina on Sunday night. He will also visit Colombia and Mexico before heading to New York.

In Washington, the White House did not initially respond to a request for a comment on a meeting between the two leaders.

"From Mexico I will go to New York to speak at the United Nations General Assembly and there I will meet my friend, President Donald Trump," Netanyahu said.

He added best wishes "to all our friends in the U.S. to overcome these difficult hours (during Hurricane Irma)."

Netanyahu is desperately trying to "misdirect" the Israeli public, and the world, from the burgeoning cases of corruption against himself, and his wife, which are looming large against them right now.

One has to wonder just what kind of hubristic rhetoric he will spew against both Iran and the Palestinian people, when he has his "bully pulpet" moment at the UN; I think we can be reasonably certain of "more of the same" as we heard last year, and the years before.

I would like to politely remind President Trump that both civilian and military leaders in Russia have been uneqivocal in stating that should Iran be attacked, they will go to its aid militarily.

The cost/benefit ration of such a war, for the US, would be horrifically bad, as any sane number-cruncher at the Pentagon will tell you, as starting such a war would absolutely not put the US on the moral, right side of history: I hope President Trump understands this, and is able to refute Netanyahu's hysterics on the issue of the US going to war against Iran with cold, hard, logic.

The Iranians have not started a war in over 200 years.

There hasn't been a year going by for the last 20 years that Israel hasn't popped off and shelled something, most recently a base in Syria.

At least 50 killed, over 80 injured in gun & bomb attacks in south Iraq (GRAPHIC VIDEO)

At least 50 people have been killed and over 80 more injured in a pair of gun and car bomb attacks in the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyah, Reuters reports, citing health officials. Iranian media said that among the victims were Iranian pilgrims.
In the first attack, a group of three or four gunmen entered a restaurant off the Dhi Qar highway and began shooting at random, hitting at least fifty people, several media reported.

Shortly afterward two suicide bombers, including one driving a car rigged with explosives, blew themselves and the car up at a security checkpoint nearby, Iraqi officials told AFP.

The survivors are being treated at the al-Batha and Nasiriyah hospitals, but due to the nature of some of the injuries the death toll is expected to rise, the director of the city's Health Directorate, Jasim al-Khalidi, told Reuters.

Jassem al-Khalidi, a senior health official, told the TV channel that more than 87 people had sustained injuries in the attacks.

Spain threatens to arrest over 700 Catalan pro-referendum mayors

- Spain's public prosecutor on Wednesday ordered a criminal probe of over 700 Catalan mayors who are cooperating with an October 1 independence referendum deemed illegal by Madrid.

The move increases the pressure on Catalan officials just one day before the pro-separatist camp officially kicks off its referendum campaign in the Mediterranean port of Tarragona.

Furious at the decision to instigate a probe, Catalan municipal associations called on all the region's mayors to protest in Barcelona on Saturday to show their "rejection of a Spanish judicial system that goes after the media, ballot papers, ballot boxes... and now mayors".

The North also accused the US of “cooking up” the latest restrictive measures against it and demanded that the US be beaten “to death as a stick is fit for a rabid dog.

WHY ARE US UNIVERSITIES ARMING THEMSELVES WITH GRENADE LAUNCHERS?

A program that supplies university police with surplus military equipment is enjoying a renaissance under Trump and Sessions. Most of the military gear is going to campuses in states with the highest poverty rates, where the weapons will be used not only to repress student protests but also to perpetuate racial and class divides between campuses and their surrounding communities.

Sending an ominous signal to student protest movements nationwide, universities across the US are once again able to equip their police forces with castoff military gear, tying them ever more intimately into the military-industrial complex.

In August, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced at a Fraternal Order of Police convention that Program 1033 would resume providing ex-military equipment to police organizations, including university police departments.

ADL CAMPUS GUIDE DESCRIBES HOW TO BLOCK EVENTS ABOUT PALESTINE

The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) has just launched a new initiative for college students called “ADL CAMPUS: Tools for Dealing with Anti-Semitic and Anti-Israel Incidents on Campus.”

This resource contains much useful information about addressing anti-Semitism, endorses such valuable principles as freedom of speech and non-violence, and recommends that students talk to others who may hold different perspectives.

It also, however, contains some deeply problematic components for anyone who believes that human rights and justice should apply to all people without exception.

Unfortunately, the ADL does not share this belief. While it announces prominently, “We protect the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment to all,” in reality the ADL supports Israeli injustice against Palestinians.

Its recent campus resource exemplifies this, and distorts facts and words in order to do so.

The Case Against the Iranian Nuclear Deal Is One Big Lie

The latest round in their campaign was U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s disingenuous and falsehood-filled speech at the American Enterprise Institute last week. The speech is useful in one sense: it provides a handy summary of just about every creative and mendacious argument that die-hard opponents of the JCPOA have been cooking up since the agreement was signed. Unfortunately, it is neither an accurate guide to the agreement, to its current status, nor more importantly, to U.S. interests.

Among other things, Haley claimed — falsely — that the deal “gave Iran what it wanted up-front, in exchange for temporary promises to deliver what we want.” The truth is about 180 degrees from this claim: Iran gave up enriched uranium, destroyed 13,000 centrifuges, dismantled the Arak reactor, let the U.N. install monitoring devices, implemented the NPT Additional Protocol, and a host of other measures — all before the United States or anyone else began lifting sanctions.

I am deeply concerned that the Unhinged Surveilled States of America, Under President Trump's watch, are stumbling into a war against Iran after successfully pushing it out of the P5+1 Treaty.

This ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid move on the part of the USSA, may result not only in a war against Iran, in the name of "regime change", but also a war against Russia, which has consistently pledged to come to Iran's rescue, should it be attacked militarily.

And the greatest cheerleaders for such a war are none other than President Trump's BFFs in the Middle East, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, and Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman.

So President Trump, let me please strongly caution you about the horrific, and dark, consequences for such initiating such a war, where the US will absolutely NOT be on the right side of history: both Netanyahu and Prince Salman are hounding you for regime change in Tehran, but only at the costs of American blood, and American money, and the costs will outweigh the benefits by too wide a margin to even be conceived as a rational plan.

Time to think this one through carefully, appreciate what the US DOES have as a signatory to the P5+1, and come up with a Plan B.

16 years ago, we began a “war on terror” that will never end

On the 16th anniversary of 9/11, a prescient Hunter S. Thompson column from the day after the attacks was shared on social media. Thompson wrote at ESPN on Sept. 12, 2001:

The towers are gone now, reduced to bloody rubble, along with all hopes for Peace in Our Time, in the United States or any other country. Make no mistake about it: We are At War now — with somebody — and we will stay At War with that mysterious Enemy for the rest of our lives.

Thompson couldn’t have been more right. More than a decade and a half since the attacks, the United States has led regime change in Iraq and Libya and is still bogged down in the longest war in American history in Afghanistan. During that time, Al-Qaeda has been diminished but remains. A group even more extreme that al-Qaeda, the Islamic State (also sometimes known as ISIS), has risen in the power vacuums created by U.S. interventions.

The Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika will most probably self destruct in one of two ways; either in a world war it has generated, but is unable to win for many complex reasons, including not being on the moral side of history, and not having the weapons, troop strength, manufacturing, or money to successfully see it through to its end positively, or ... through a complete economic collapse.

Trump Says North Korea Sanctions Are Nothing Compared to What Must Be Done

President Trump appeared very dismissive today of having successfully gotten new sanctions against North Korea through the UN Security Council. Trump referred to the resolution, which was watered down from initial US demands to get China to sign off, as “not a big deal,” saying he wasn’t sure if it would have any impact at all.

Given the instability of the situation and US threats of war, anything that’s not a big deal might be good news. That would be the case, if President Trump weren’t saying that he intends to follow it up with much bigger moves against North Korea.

Speaking during a meeting with the Malaysian Prime Minister, Trump says much tougher measures are needed, and that the Monday sanctions pale in comparison with what’s likely to “have to happen” to North Korea in the future.

Webmaster's Commentary: 

The "Unilateral Moves" the US may make, could possibly borrow a page from those items not included in the UN Sanctions, such as tasking US Naval and Coast Guard ships with interdicting North Korean and other ships bound for North Korea, and demanding that the cargo be inspected.

Such a move, in international Naval Law, is considered an act of piracy, if not an outright act of war.

Turkey Signs Russian Missile Deal, Pivoting From NATO

ISTANBUL — In the clearest sign of his pivot toward Russia and away from NATO and the West, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Tuesday that Turkey had signed a deal to purchase a Russian surface-to-air missile system.

The deal cements a recent rapprochement with Russia, despite differences over the war in Syria, and comes as Turkey’s ties with the United States and European Union have become strained.

It is certain to stir unease in Washington and Brussels, where officials are trying to keep Turkey — a longtime NATO member, and an increasingly unlikely candidate for European Union membership — from entering Russia’s sphere of influence.

Catalan independence: Police told to seize ballot boxes

Spain's Constitutional Court has suspended the law that was to become Catalonia's transitional constitution if it declared independence. Prosecutors in Barcelona have ordered police to seize election resources.

The Madrid-based court preventatively suspended a second law relating to Catalonian independence on Tuesday, news agencies quoting unnamed Spanish court sources reported, adding another legal hurdle for separatists.

Prosecutors in Catalonia also on Tuesday ordered police to seize ballot boxes, election fliers or other items that could be used in the banned referendum, news agency AFP reported.

The court, Spain's highest authority on such matters, had already suspended the law and decree calling for a referendum on Catalonia's independence to be held on October 1.

North Korea Slams ‘Evil’ Sanctions, Vows Faster Nuclear Push

North Korea rejected the latest round of United Nations sanctions on the isolated state, and vowed to accelerate its plans to acquire a nuclear weapon that can strike the U.S. homeland.

In its first official response to the new resolution, North Korea’s foreign ministry released a statement on state-run media saying the sanctions justified its nuclear push and strengthened its will to “follow this road at a faster pace without the slightest diversion until this fight to the finish is over.”

“The adoption of another illegal and evil ‘resolution on sanctions’ piloted by the U.S. served as an occasion for the DPRK to verify that the road it chose to go down was absolutely right,” the ministry said, according to the Korean Central News Agency. “The DPRK will redouble the efforts to increase its strength to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and right to existence,” KCNA said, using the country’s formal name.

The question is not the rhetoric coming out of North Korea, but precisely what Kim Jung Un is really prepared to do, coupled with a potential confrontation by the US, and approached by China and Russia as an issue which must be resolved diplomatically, avoiding all military confrontation.

The question of possible scenarios dealing with North Korea's nuclear push become more complicated, in light of President Trump's having vowed on the campaign trail that he would never allow North Korea to develop a working nuclear missile.

So one has to ask: how does he honor that in a way that China and Russia can sign off on?!? China has already warned the US that should the US strike first, they will take North Korea's side, militarily.

CHILDREN HELD HOSTAGE DURING DISTURBING 9/11 DRILL BY SCHOOL OFFICIAL THREATENING TO KILL THEM

A nightmare driving scenario, is slowly making its way across the country. As states begin installing 'Variable Speed Limits' (VSL) and granting law enforcement access to speed limits, which can be changed on a whim.

Imagine you are cruising down the highway, obeying the posted speed limit of 75 MPH only to find out that you're being ticketed for driving 15 miles over the speed limit.

How can this happen you ask?

In cash strapped America, it is now possible for the police to change speed limits using VSL's. States like Wyoming, Oregon, Georgia, Washington, Utah, New Jersey, Florida and Minnesota. have already begun using them

The USDOT is paying states $1 billion to use VSL's to create 'aggressive congestion-relief programs'.

But how will states payback the $1 billion?

RAND PAUL PROPOSES DEFENSE BILL AMENDMENT TO REPEAL WAR POWERS

The U.S. Senate will hold a vote on an amendment to the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) tomorrow. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) presented an amendment seeking to sunset the 2001 and 2002 Authorizations for Use of Military Force (AUMF). This will be the first time the Senate has held a vote regarding the AUMF since 2002.

The amendment would not only repeal the 2001 AUMF, but would also repeal the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. The 2001 AUMF was passed in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, while the 2002 AUMF was passed in order to authorize the Iraq War.

The amendment would also require Congress to hold a vote to approve any future authorization of military force. According to Sen. Paul, most senators do not want to take any responsibility for America’s ongoing wars, and would rather refuse to vote on authorizing any future wars.

If passed, it would be six months before the amendment would go into effect.

Although this bill is a nuanced and moral stand by Rand Paul, I frankly don't see its passing in the Senate.

the acceptance of money from Defense contractors, overt and covert, coupled with the absolute lack of taking any responsibility for the havoc and devastation these horrific American wars have cost this country and the world, is just too comfortable a place for most Senators to leave.

Congress has stopped representing We the People for quite some time now; the only entities they represent are those large corporations which pay them to do so.

Study prompts call to examine flu vaccine and miscarriage

A puzzling study of U.S. pregnancies found that women who had miscarriages between 2010 and 2012 were more likely to have had back-to-back annual flu shots that included protection against swine flu.

Vaccine experts think the results may reflect the older age and other miscarriage risks for the women, and not the flu shots. Health officials say there is no reason to change the government recommendation that all pregnant women be vaccinated against the flu. They say the flu itself is a much greater danger to women and their fetuses.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reached out to a doctor's group, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, to warn them the study is coming out and help them prepare for a potential wave of worry from expectant moms, CDC officials said.

The United States Of Hubris

If anyone should have any questions about whether the United States of America is not the most aggressive, warlike, and terroristic nation on the face of the earth, its latest proposed action against the supposed rogue state of North Korea should allay any such doubts.

Rep. Franks Predicts Awans Will Get Immunity For "Significant, Disturbing Story" About Wasserman Schultz

Last week the Washington Examiner reported that Hina Alvi, the wife of Debbie Wasserman Schultz's now-infamous former IT staffer Imran Awan, had struck a deal with federal prosecutors to return to the U.S. where she currently faces charges of conspiracy and bank fraud. The deal with prosecutors mandates a return to the U.S. during the "last week of September 2017" and is structured so that she will not be arrested in front of her children.

Now, if you're the cynical type, then it might have struck you as somewhat odd that Alvi would agree to return from Pakistan, the place to which she successfully fled specifically to avoid the charges she now seems to be embracing.

One has to wonder just precisely what DWS (Debbie Wasserman Shultz) will do, or to what lengths she will go, to avoid indictment, coupled with a jury verdict against her, leading to jail time?!?

FBI: Awans Security Clearances “Forged;” Granted Access to Congressional Intel Despite Falsified Vetting

Federal law enforcement agents working the Imran Awan and Hina Alvi fraud probe said the couple, along with other members of the family, were never properly vetted for Congressional security clearances.

Instead the clearances, which provided the Awans access to dozens of Congressional Democrats computer networks and IT systems, were likely approved absent each individual background file getting “fully investigated.”

“I seriously doubt they could have passed a full background (check),” one FBI insider said. “These clearances were pushed through.”

FBI insiders used the word “forged” to describe the process of what happened to the Awan files. Federal law enforcement sources with knowledge of the case divulged:

Either someone with clout in Congress, or higher, made sure the Awans received their security clearances despite glaring problems or the investigators pushed their files through for approval as part of a systemic breakdown.

Syria Summary – A New Clash Looms in Syria’s East

When the Islamic State siege on Deir Ezzor was broken by the Syrian Arab Army we asked:

Will the SAA cross the Euphrates at Deir Ezzor to retake the valuable oilfields east of it? Or will it stay south of the river and leave those oil fields to the Kurdish U.S. proxies in the north?

To cross the river is clearly desirable but also potentially contentious.

Since then several convoys of military bridging equipment have been seen on the road to Deir Ezzor. It is now obvious that the SAA will bridge the river (all regular bridges have been destroyed by U.S. bombing) and send significant forces across. New questions now are: When, where and with what aim?

The hatched areas of the map show possible next aims for the U.S. proxy campaign (yellow) and the Syrian government forces (red) in their fight against ISIS (grey) and against each other.

The question in my mind is not a question of if, but when US forces connect (unpleasantly) with Russian and Syrian forces over these oil fields.

War with Russia could be triggered on many fronts, like Ukraine, Iran, or Syria; it appears that those in the Bowels of Power in the Unhinged Surveilled States of America, are thinking seriously about the best scenario to "sell' to the American people as the justification for doing this.

Unfortunately for them, however, the citizens of this country have become very war-skeptical and war-weary, and are beginning to demand of those power brokers in the USSA, that they resolve their geopolitical differences with true diplomacy, and rational, moral hard-won negotiations, rather than through bombs and bullets.

Lieberman warns Syrians any confrontation will ‘end badly for them’

After Syria threatens repercussions following airstrike attributed to Israel the state's Scientific Studies and Research Center, Israel’s defense minister issues tough warning against following up on threats, warning Syria ‘not to test us, because we take threats seriously.’

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Monday issued a threatening message to President Assad's regime in Syria, saying "I strongly suggest to our neighbors in the north not to try us or make threats," while warning any confrontation would "end very badly for them."

Regarding the attack attributed to Israel in Syria, Qassem said that it was not a prelude to the war and that there was no need to blow the situation out of proportion.

UN Nuclear Watchdog Defends Iran Deal

The UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is responsible for verification of the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran. This means they offer monthly assessments, all of which have affirmed Iran is in total compliance with its requirements under the deal.

Monthly reminders of that fact are increasingly seen as insufficient, however, with the US government publicly attacking the pact and making wild accusations of unspecific Iranian violations. Now, IAEA officials feel obliged to publicly defend the concept of a deal, the nature of this specific deal, and Iran’s compliance all at once.

IAEA chief Amano Yukiya today defended the deal’s verification program as the “most robust” ever, noting that the IAEA has dramatically increased its number of inspections in Iran since the deal was signed, calling the pact a “clear and significant gain.”

Senate Leaders Attempt to Limit Debate on Repealing AUMF

Senate officials are hoping to get to a final vote on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a military spending bill in excess of $700 billion. Getting to that vote, however, means dealing with all the military and war-related amendments in the bill.

Senate leaders appear to have decided that the easiest way to get around this is to severely curtail debate on certain particularly controversial issues, with an 89-3 vote today agreeing to limit procedural debates on the matter.

Sen. Paul intends to repeal the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF). The amendment is seen as politically awkward for some hawks, who argue that they want to create a new AUMF that explicitly covers current wars, but who are reluctant to see any limitations placed on the way America’s wars are waged.

The real problem with the AUMF, as it is currently written and acted upon, is that it has given Presidents Bush, Obama, and Trump a "blank check" for funding wars to their liking, but has absolutely neutered Congress' abilities, and responsibilities, for waging wars, as they are given power to do by the Constitution.

And the last thing Congress doesn't want to have to do, is own responsibility for these wars when they go "mammary glands vertical", as they have in Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, 16 years on.

Russia to US: ‘Stop destroying our relationship, start solving problems you’ve caused’

The much-touted meeting between US Under Secretary of State Thomas Shannon and Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov in Helsinki has produced no breakthrough, with Russia confirming that further retaliatory measures against US diplomats are imminent.
“We urged them to stop destroying Russian-American relations and undermining international law, and to occupy themselves with solving problems that have arisen not due to any fault of our own,” said a statement from the Russian foreign ministry at the conclusion of the first day of a two-day summit.

A private company is turning a profit by surveilling people online and then selling valuable information to law enforcement and government agencies.

According to The Washington Post, the company, Babel Street, offers “a subscription called Babel X” which trawls through “some 40 online sources, scooping up data from popular sites such as Instagram and a Korean social media platform as well as inside ‘dark Web’ forums where cybercriminals lurk.”

The Pentagon was the subscription’s first customer, and some users pay more than $20,000 a year to use the service.

US DOJ uses WWII-era legislation to demand that RT supplier register as a ‘foreign agent’

The company that supplies all services for RT America channel, including TV production and operations, in the US, has received a letter from the US Department of Justice, claiming that the company is obligated to register under FARA due to the work it does for RT.

Adopted in 1938 to counter pro-Nazi agitation on US soil, the Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, exists so that “the people of the United States are informed of the source of information (propaganda) and the identity of persons attempting to influence US public opinion, policy, and laws.”

There are 401 entities in the active FARA register and include tourist boards and lobbyists, but no media outlets, which have traditionally been exempt from the legislation.

State Dept Approves $3.8 Billion Arms Sales to Bahrain

The US State Department has approved $3.8 billion in weapons sales to the tiny island nation of Bahrain. The Pentagon confirmed the approval and the State Department has notified Congress, who held up a similar sale last year over Bahrain’s many, many human rights problems.

The $3.8 billion sale is almost entirely going to Lockheed Martin, who will be providing 19 F-16V fighter jets, along with substantial upgrades to the nation’s existing fleet of F-16s. Raytheon will be selling 221 anti-tank missiles to go with it.

Sales to Bahrain were supposed to be suspended, as Sen. Bob Corker (R – TN) had threatened to hold them all up until they resolved tensions with Qatar. In the end, however, Congress is said to have signed off through normal channels.

I am having a "double Picard face-palm moment", at velocity, upon reading this.

It's truly ironic: the issue of "human rights", which the US government bandies about as "problems' for countries where it wants regime change, never seems to be an obstacle, when the State Department signs off on huge purchases of US weapons by some of the most revoltingly dictatorial regimes on the planet, such as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, due to what the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America get out of those relationships.

US Assault Ship Loaded with Joint Strike Fighters Heads to North Korea

The USS Wasp is sailing from its homeport in Virginia to Sasebo, Japan, to join the US Navy’s 7th Fleet and bring Washington’s most advanced fighter jets to North Korea’s backyard.

The Wasp, an Amphibious Assault Ship and lead ship of her class, doesn’t have quite as much surface area for jets to take off and land as the larger Nimitz-class aircraft carriers, but the ship will still bring a new squadron of carrier-compatible F-35B aircraft to the 7th Fleet’s area of operations.

The F-35 B jets have the AV-8 B Harrier’s capability of taking off vertically, as a helicopter does, while also being able to operate in the air like fighter jets.

Placing the Amphibious Assault Ship in proximity to the Korean Peninsula “ensured that our most technologically-advanced air warfare platforms are forward deployed,” USS Wasp Cmdr. Andrew Smith said in an August 30 release.

SENATE BLOCKS RAND PAUL’S BILL TO GIVE MONEY TO HURRICANE VICTIMS INSTEAD OF FOREIGN DICTATORS

As estimates to fix the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey reach over $100 billion, the U.S. Congress has pushed for a bill that would raise the national debt in order to pay for it. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul suggested a different solution—why not make cuts to foreign aid in order to help Americans in need?

“My amendment, the ‘America First’ amendment, would take the money from money that we were going to send to foreign countries,” Paul said. “We send billions and billions of dollars to countries who hate us. We send billions and billions of dollars to countries who burn our flag. I think it’s a very simple choice that when we’re looking at those in need in our country, we quit sending money to other countries.”

Paul noted that with the current budget, American taxpayers are funding a failed foreign policy by sending billions of dollars to countries such as Afghanistan, where President Trump recently promised to continue the longest war in U.S. history.

Democratic Rep. to introduce bill limiting free speech at universities

U.S. Rep. Anthony Brown (D-Md.) announced he will introduce a bill to limit free speech or “hate speech” at universities and colleges and force the schools to report hate crimes to local law enforcement.

Washington’s Draft UN Security Council Resolution on North Korea

n its current form, a draft US sponsored SC resolution on the DPRK is unacceptable to Russia and China, calling for:

an asset freeze and travel ban on Kim Jong-un and other designated DPRK officials;
designating additional “WMD-related items,” including specified materials, equipment, goods and technology;
designating “conventional arms dual-use and munitions” and related items, including specified materials, equipment, goods, and technology;
designating vessels used to transport coal, its purchase by other countries prohibited;
authorizing UN member states to interdict and inspect North Korean vessels at sea in international waters;
banning exports of crude oil, condensate, refined petroleum products and natural gas to the DPRK;
prohibiting textile exports to the country;
preventing illicit (sic) DPRK coal exports through Rajin;
banning the hiring and use of North Korean workers by other countries; and

Sergei Lavrov is someone I consider "an adult in the room" in the vicious playpen which is international politics.

But I have to tell you, very frankly, that the way the language has been structured, insuring that China and Russia cannot possibly approve this resolution, will be the "trigger" which will enforce the Treasury's threat to
impose a ban on all US trade with dozens of nations that trade with North Korea."

Such sanctions cannot possibly be construed as anything but a prelude to a war against North Korea.

Nigeria cholera outbreak threatens more than 1 mln people in refugee camps

At least 1.4 million people uprooted by Boko Haram's insurgency in northeast Nigeria are living in 'cholera hotspots', prey to an outbreak of the deadly disease which is sweeping through camps for the displaced, the United Nations said on Thursday.

An estimated 28 people have died from cholera in the conflict-hit region, while about 837 are suspected to have been infected with the disease, including at least 145 children under the age of five, said the U.N. children's agency (UNICEF).

The outbreak was first identified last week in the Muna Garage camp in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, which is the heart of jihadist group Boko Haram's brutal eight-year campaign to carve out an Islamic caliphate in northeast Nigeria.

About 1.8 million people have abandoned their homes because of violence or food shortages, U.N. agencies say, and many live in camps for the displaced throughout northeast Nigeria.

Haley Debuts Trump’s Case for Ending Iran Nuke Deal

While UN ambassador Nikki Haley certainly didn’t come to the American Enterprise Institute Tuesday to praise the nuclear agreement with Iran, she insisted she wasn’t there to bury it either.

But we think she doth protest too much. Because that is exactly what she set out to do.

“I’m not making the case for decertifying (the agreement),” she told her rapt AEI audience. “I’m just saying if he (president) should decertify, he has the grounds.”

Haley then warned for what would not be the last time that we shouldn’t just assume that the Iranians were “doing the right thing.”

“What if they weren’t doing the right thing?” Haley presupposed, “And when that 10-year (expiration) hits … they start a nuclear war?”

Israeli Intel Chief: Military Working to Attack Enemies ‘Near and Far’

While refusing to confirm or deny reports of Israel’s overnight attack on a Syrian military base, IDF military intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Harzi Halevi bragged of the Israeli military’s capabilities, saying they would continue to attack enemies “near and far.”

Maj. Gen. Halevi made it very clear that when he says “enemies,” he mans Iran, playing up the “threat” posed by Iranian forces in Syria, as well as Iranian forces in Iran. He played up the “precise intelligence” which Israel has for targeting them everywhere in the region.

These comments were echoed by Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who also dodged the question about attacking Syria, but said that Israel was “ready and determined to defend ourselves,” also playing up the idea that this would be against Iran.

"Defense" for the Israeli government, has most generally translated as "offense" against peaceful countries in the region with which it steadfastly refuses to get along.

I would, however, politely issue a caveat for both Maj. Gen. Halevi and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman: any Israeli-generated war against Iran will almost certainly mean a war with Russia, as both Russian military and civilian leadership have, collectively, gone on the record as stating that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to Iran's aid militarily.

And gentlemen,I would politely ask you to please, collectively, disabuse yourselves of the notion that Americans are eager to sacrifice more blood and money to what is essentially an Israeli cause; Americans, after having been lied into those debacles which are the war in Afghanistan,and the war in Iraq, are both intensely war-weary, and war-skeptical.

What may be seen nationally as an Israeli imperative for regime change in Tehran, doesn't translate well at all to most American working people, no matter how hard AIPAC pushes this agenda: that Tehran must be regime changed, to please Israel, but America must bear the brunt of all the costs, both human, and financial, to accomplish such an end.

US Seeks UN Permission to Board North Korean Ships

Despite Russian opposition already having effectively killed the chances of a total oil ban on North Korea being enforced, the US is still pushing the plan at the UN Security Council. It’s not just a ban, however. The US wants permission to militarily enforce it.

The resolution includes broad language allowing the US Navy and Air Force to capture and board North Korean ships at sea, and to use “all necessary measures” to force them to reveal if they are complying with the ban.

US Ambassador Nikki Haley is looking for a vote by Monday, though it seems like any language within the bill about interdiction of North Korean ships is likely to be removed at the behest of both China and Russia if the resolution is to survive at all.

Should such a completely reckless and irresponsible act move forward, either on the part of the UN (which is doubtful) or the US Department of Treasury (which is more likely), it will be interpreted as an act of war by both North Korea and China, and will be responded to accordingly.

China’s Xi Jinping tells Donald Trump that North Korea nuclear issue must be solved via talks

China is focused on solving the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue through talks and peaceful means, Chinese President Xi Jinping told US President Donald Trump in a telephone call on Wednesday (Sept 6).

The United States and South Korea have asked the United Nations to consider tough new sanctions on North Korea after its nuclear test on Sunday that Pyongyang said was a advanced hydrogen bomb.

Washington and its allies have said there is a growing urgency for China, North Korea’s top trading partner, to apply more pressure on its already isolated neighbour to get it to back down on its nuclear weapons and missiles programmes.

China “unswervingly” works to realise denuclearisation on the Korean Peninsula and to safeguard the international nuclear non-proliferation system, Xi told Trump, according to a statement from China’s Foreign Ministry.

I am glad that there is dialogue on North Korea between President Trump, and his counterpart, Xi Jingping.

But that being said, if Kim Jong Un orders that a missile be fired tomorrow, which is the anniversary of the founding of the Country of North Korea, as many North Korea watchers are anticipating, all bets may well be off.

President Trump may well believe that he has "got to do something" to demonstrate American resolve; and that "something" may well be a full-blown military response, coupled with a decap strike against Kim, and the whole of Pyongyang.

IF China comes in on the side of North Korea, we may well be looking at World War III.

ISRAEL LAUNCHES AIR STRIKES ON SYRIA AND ASSAD'S "WAITING GAME"

Immediately after Israel's latest unprovoked strike on Syria we posed the question, did Benjamin Netanyahu just panic? The answer is yes, Israel is now acting from a position of desperation as it has failed in its goal of regime change in Syria. Overnight (Wed. evening/Thursday early morning), Israel attacked a Syrian military base near the town of Masyaf at about 3:00 a.m. which Syria has now confirmed in a statement that warns of "serious repercussions". Syria reported two troop deaths in the attack. It appears to have been a massive strike - grainy photos show a large fireball lighting up the night sky outside of Masyaf.

But this is the reason for Israeli media and defense officials quickly claiming that the strike at Masyaf was on a chemical weapons facility: they know the "humanitarian" angle sells in the West, especially when coupled with allegations of civilians being gassed.

Right now, Netanyahu and his wife have been the targets of corruption probes in Israel. I do not know if these attacks are an attempt at "misdirection" of the national and international press, but the reputations of both of them havebeen irreparably damaged, making Netanyahu, geopolitically, a very wounded animal.

And nothing is more dangerous in this world than a geopolitically wounded animal, because it is impossible to know precisely where they will lash out, or why.

In his diminished emotional and intellectual state, Netanyahu may just haul off and attack Iran directly, expecting that the US will scream "We'll fight with you!" when a war against Iran most probably translates into a war with Russia, which the US military is thoroughly unprepared to successfully undertake.

TWO FLORIDA NUCLEAR PLANTS ARE IN IRMA’S PROJECTED PATH — AND ONE IS ALREADY LEAKING

Perhaps more concerning is that the Turkey Point plant’s old cooling canal system has been leaking polluted water into Biscayne Bay. The New York Times noted last year that a study found “elevated levels of salt, ammonia, phosphorous and tritium, a radioactive isotope that is found in nature but also frequently associated with nuclear power plants.”

Though the levels of tritium were reportedly too low to harm people, they were enough for scientists to determine that the plant was the source. Environmentalists worried about marine life and the plant’s owners’ slow reaction to remedy the leak. It’s unclear how a hurricane might affect the already leaking facility.

Regardless, Robbins says Florida Light & Power is prepared to shut down the sites if it looks like Irma will hit them. “If we anticipate there will be direct impacts on either factory we’ll shut down the units,” he told the Miami Herald, noting doing so is a gradual process.

This is a really cheesy story focusing on how Kim Jong-un and his favorite stash of Swiss Cheese will be very difficult for the US to take out.

NORTH Korean dictator Kim Jong-un will escape to a vast complex of underground tunnels if a nuclear war breaks out — with a huge supply of his favourite cheese.

Aiden Foster-Carter, an expert on North Korea and honorary senior research fellow in Sociology and Modern Korea at Leeds University, said that Kim Jong un is unlikely to go without his favourite treats in the event of war.

He added that the dictator had to retreat from public life after eating too much Emmental cheese after receiving a huge shipment of it from Switzerland.

When asked about whether Kim will stockpile his favourite cheese, he added: “I’m sure that wherever he goes he’ll be provided for.”

Toys R Us Hires Bankruptcy Law Firm

Toys R Us, with 1,694 stores globally, has $5.2 billion in long-term debt, according to its latest quarterly report, and sports a negative equity of $1.3 billion. Quarterly sales declined 4.8% year-over-year, to $2.2 billion. This isn’t a one-quarter dip: sales are down 15% from the same quarter in 2012. And the net loss jumped 30% year-over-year to $164 million.

The company needs to restructure its debts, particularly $400 million that is coming due in 2018, and a bankruptcy filing is one of the options, “sources familiar with the situation” told CNBC on Wednesday.

Hurricane First Responders Sue Chemical Plant After Breathing Chemical Fumes

A Houston-area chemical plant is being sued by seven first responders who are seeking a total of $1 million in damages for respiratory injuries sustained after an explosion in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey released noxious fumes.

Houston lawyers Misty Hataway-Cone and Kimberley Spurlock are suing the Arkema company for gross negligence, accusing the Crosby, Texas, plant of ignoring "the foreseeable consequences of failing to prepare" for the hurricane despite advanced warning of the storm’s destructive potential and past experiences with flooding. The plant lost its ability to cool heat-sensitive compounds contained in trailers filled with dangerous chemical compounds when it lost electricity, leaving the trailers susceptible to explosion.

The trio had not yet been informed of the incident, the company said.

The credit-reporting service said late Thursday in a statement that it discovered the intrusion on July 29. Regulatory filings show that three days later, Chief Financial Officer John Gamble sold shares worth $946,374 and Joseph Loughran, president of U.S. information solutions, exercised options to dispose of stock worth $584,099. Rodolfo Plodder, president of workforce solutions, sold $250,458 of stock on Aug. 2. None of the filings lists the transactions as being part of 10 b5-1 scheduled trading plans.

US Army prepares forces in South Korea for WMD attack

The US Army wants its forces deployed in South Korea to train for a potential attack with the use of hazardous materials, which could be radioactive or chemical.

The Army’s 718th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company (EOD) in South Korea should be taught to be able to identify hazardous materials, “know how to perform basic control, containment and/or confinement operations,” as well as to be able implement decontamination procedures, according to the contract proposal which the Army posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website.

It is expected to be a two-week training course, taught on-site at the US Camp Humphreys base in South Korea.

The US has around 25,000 troops deployed in the country, at some 80 sites across the country.

In late August, the Pentagon posted another proposal for contractors to build walls around four US bases in South Korea to protect them from a potential attack.
