A former Federal Prosecutor sat down with The Daily Caller to give perhaps the most comprehensive rundown of the Obama Administration's "brazen plot to exonerate Hillary Clinton" and "frame an incoming president with a false Russian conspiracy."

In this highly recommended 30 minute interview with Joe diGenova, the former Special Counsel who went after both the Teamsters and former NY Governor Elliot Spitzer, paints a very clear picture of collusion is painted between the Obama administration, the FBI, the Clinton campaign and opposition research firm Fusion GPS.

What this is about, this is about a lavabo, a cleansing of FBI and the upper echelons of the Department of Justice.

We're going to discover that the Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, her deputy Sally Yates, the head of the national security division John Carlin, Bruce Ohr and other senior DOJ officials, and regrettably, lying attorneys.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I'll believe this when I actually see this go down; but right now, this country is at a tipping point, and unless and until these people are charged and convicted, the imag,e and reality, of the United States of America, both home and abroad, will be one of absolute, complicit corruption at its highest levels.

A school resource officer is under fire after a video was released online that showed him slamming a female student to the ground and then handcuffing her, while two other men stood nearby and did nothing to intervene.

After the video went viral, the La Mesa Police Department responded in a statement, claiming that the 17-year-old girl was “arrested by a La Mesa Police School Resource Officer for refusing to obey a lawful order to leave school grounds and resisting arrest.”

The department claimed that the video released online showed a small segment of an encounter in which “Helix High School staff requested the assistance of the School Resource Officer to remove a student, who was on suspended status and non-compliant with staff directions to leave the campus.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Welcome to "education" in public schools in Amerika, where the State's Representative can slam a kid's head into the floor with absolutely no real provocaton or cause whatsoever, and there will be absolutely no repercussions for that "Resource Officer".

Were I a parent at Helix High, I would pull my kid out of that school so quickly that the principal's head spin.

Before I did this, however, I would be researching the nearest "magnet schools", private schools, and home schooling groups where my kid would at least be educated, and where teachers and principals, working to gether with families, want to keep parents in the loop consistently.

And if all parents here did this, the school would no longer receive the Federal or California State grants which fund it, and the school, ultimately, would have to shut down.

Parents have more power than they realize; but they need to be ready to "come up to the plate" and use it wisely and morally, in defense of their kids.

The United States government’s mission of spreading empire, destabilizing peaceful countries, and violent regime changes will not be hindered by the government shutdown. Our fearless rulers have ensured Americans that the military-industrial complex will be just fine—despite not paying the soldiers.

On Saturday, Vice President Mike Pence encouraged troops to focus on their missions and ensured them that they will be just fine even though their paychecks won’t come in next week.

Although military personnel remain deployed and on the job, they won’t be paid unless Congress votes to compensate them.

“We’ll get this thing figured out in Washington,” Pence said early Saturday as he greeted US servicemen in Ireland shortly after the government shutdown. “Stay focused on your mission,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to remind both sides of the aisle that without paychecks, our military and their families will not be able to put food on the table, or pay their mortgages or rents.

Desperate, they may well become targets of "payday loan" sharks, which dole out relatively small amounts of money for staggeringly usurious interest rates.

As much as I abhor war as what appears to be, in the minds of those in the bowels of power, the only only way in which the US government can resolve their geopolitical differences with other countries, not paying our military stinks to high heaven.

A major contradiction has been discovered between yesterday's revelation that the FBI "lost" five months of text messages, and a claim by the DOJ's Inspector General, Michael Horowitz - who claimed his office received the texts in question between FBI employees Peter Strzok and his mistress Lisa Page last August.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The (alleged) US Department of Justice, has become so thoroughly contaminated by partisanship that it has become an absolute joke, both to disgusted Americans, and to the rest of the world.

Turkish Warplanes Pound Kurds, Thousands of Syrian Rebels Bused to Border

Following up on a flurry of Friday artillery strikes against Kurdish forces in the Afrin District on northern Syria, Turkish warplanes carried out a large number of airstrikes against the small district, with at least 108 strikes reported, leaving the towns’ streets empty, and locals panicking.

Syria’s government complained Turkey hadn’t informed them of the attacks, adding that they “strongly condemn” Turkish aggression. Syria had threatened to target Turkish warplanes raiding their airspace, however, and there’s so far no sign of this happening.

Instead the US-backed Kurds are getting hammered from the air, and Turkey is now not only massing their own troops at the Afrin border, but has bused in thousands of Free Syrian Army (FSA) rebels to attack the Kurds as well.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just how long this will be allowed to continue without US/Russian/Syrian military intervention.

And on the corporatized US "non-news", courtesy of American Presstitutes, the Turkish invasion of a sovereign country, Syria, is treated as though it wasn't happening at all!!

Russian forces re-deployed from Afrin after Turkey’s offensive - Russia’s Defense MinistryMore:http://tass.com/defense/986083

An operations group of the Russian center for reconciliation of warring sides and military police has been re-deployed from Syria’s Afrin to Tel Ajar after Turkey had launched its offensive, Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Saturday.

The ministry said that "the command of the Russian military group in Syria has taken steps to provide security of the Russian servicemen, who had been stationed in Afrin canton, where the Turkish Armed Forces have mounted a ‘special operation’ against Kurdish units."

"The operations group of the center for reconciliation of warring sides and military police have been redeployed from the area of Afrin to the area of Tel Ajar in the Tel Rifaat de-confliction zone in order to avoid possible provocations and to ensure Russian servicemen’s lives and health are not exposed to risks," the ministry said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: this may be a retreat, but it appears to be a tactical retreat only, to keep Russian soldiers safe, until Putin and Lavrov decide precisely how to approach this Turkish invasion of Northern Syria.

But in the genral theme of things, the optics here cannot appear as through Russia has "backed down" from assisting Syria militarily, or allow Turkey to appear militarily successful in this bombing campaign and invasion.

Turkey’s Operation Olive Branch ‘aims to bring 10,000 km2 of Afrin under control’

The Prime Ministry’s Office of Public Diplomacy has cited the reasons for Turkey’s military operation against Syria’s northern Afrin province in a 12-article note.

The note, titled “What Turkey aims to do with Afrin operation,” was posted on the office’s official Twitter account on Jan. 21. It cited the following reasons for the operation:

* To ensure the Turkey-supported Free Syrian Army (FSA) takes control of a 10,000-square kilometer area.

* Following on from the Euphrates Shield Operation and the operation in Idlib, to completely prevent the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) from reaching the Eastern Mediterranean.

* To eliminate the possibility of losing Turkey’s geographical contact with the Arab world.

* To ensure the security of our borders with Syria.

* To prevent the infiltration of the Syrian Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the PKK into Turkey through the Amanos Mountains.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Notice that last point: "To counter US support for a terrorist organization", and by that statement, Turkey is referring to all Kurds, not just the PKK.

And that 10,000 square kilometers to which the Turkish government refers, is nearly 3,900 square miles; not an insignificant hunk of Syrian real estate!

But as far as I can see this morning, there has been absolutely zero military response to the bombardment yesterday or invasion today of Syria by Turkey; not from the United States Government; not from Russia, and not from the Syrian military or government.

Turkey launches major land operation into YPG militants in Syria's Afrin

Turkey has begun a land operation on the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), with troops entering Syrian soil at 11:05 a.m. on Jan. 21, Prime Minister Binali Y?ld?r?m told a group of journalists.

“Our units have entered Afrin from two branches at 11:05 a.m. with the Free Syrian Army. This means the land operation has begun,” Y?ld?r?m said, speaking to the editors of Turkish news publications in a meeting held in Istanbul.

The operation, which came hours after a major air strike on the YPG on Jan. 20, will consist of four phases to create a safe zone with a 30-kilometer depth, he said.

The first phase would be aimed to form a secure zone on the Turkish borders between Azaz and Afrin. Following the first phase, Y?ld?r?m said, the "cleaning" would require an even more thorough work and "there was no need to rush."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Webcrawl on Faux News barely mentioned the Turkish bombing campaign in Afrin yesterday, and has certainly not mentioned the land invasion of northern Syria by Turkey today in any meaningful way.

From the time of the Ottoman Empire to the present, one skill set at which the Turkish government and military continues to be magnificently adept is genocide.

The Turkish Genocide of Armenians

When Yildirm made the observation that "There are around 8,000 to 10,000 terrorists in Afrin,", he is, hubristically, attempting to "groom" the rest of the world to be prepared for an horrifically overwhelming number of dead Kurds from this operation; women; infants; children; and the medically fragile elderly most likely will not be spared.

And what I want to know is, just how many US troops are embedded with these Kurdish troops in and around Afrin, and what happens when those US troops get shot and killed or maimed for life by Turkish forces?!?

Did the Turkish government covertly warn the US government that this was going to happen in time to get those US troops safely out of that area of Syria?!?

No one at the White House seems to be saying anything, and this... is a really bad sign for both innocent, non-combatant Kurds, and for our troops in that region of the world. I mean, a couple of months ago, wasn't the US government attempting to create an independent Kurdistan out of bits of Northern Syria?!?

Specter of Syrian Kurdistan: How US' Covert Plan is Taking Shape

And if this is, in fact was "the US plan" for the Kurdish people, why has President Trump done absolutely nothing to prevent, or at least, mitigate, Edrogan's invasion of Syria?!?

There are way too many questions, and not nearly enough intelligent answers.

Right now, I am praying for the Kurdish non-combatants in Afrin, and hoping for a way in which they can be evacuated to safety; but that would probably need Russian assistance from the Syrian side, and I don't see the presence of any Russian military yet in the region.

Q Anon’s promises? Until .01% arrests for assassinating thousands, killing millions, harming billions, looting trillions, and FULL TRUTH, ‘We the People’ must continue ‘patient activism’

Three quotes from Martin King, discussing the great gap between initial public recognition and final resolution of our greatest problems, 1968:

As elation and expectations died, (we) became more sharply aware that the goal of freedom was still distant. Our immediate plight was yet substantially an agony of deprivation.

‘If the soul is left in darkness, sins will be committed. The guilty one is not he who commits the sin but he who causes the darkness.’ ~ Martin quoting Victor Hugo in that speech

Fierce battle erupts over releasing intelligence report

A battle erupted Friday over a push by Republican lawmakers to release a report they say will reveal high-level government abuse around the federal investigation into possible ties between Trump campaign officials and Russia.

Even as Congress hurtled toward a shutdown, Republicans in the House were buzzing over the contents of a classified memo on alleged surveillance abuses that was produced by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.).

Scores of Republicans viewed the controversial memo in secure settings at the Capitol and concluded it contains hard evidence that the special counsel investigation into whether Trump’s campaign officials had improper contacts with Russia were sparked by the politically motivated actions of senior FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials.

A former Secret Service agent who worked under Obama has declared that the details contained within the reportedly shocking classified FISA abuse memo will completely rewrite the legacy of the former President.

The memo is circulating on Capitol Hill, and is described by those who have seen it as so devastating that it could end special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe instantaneously.

In essence, the memo names and shames those who have sought to deliberately undermine and obstruct Trump’s Presidency, by using underhanded and possibly even illegal tactics.

Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino has intimated that one of those individuals is Barack Obama.

Lawmakers from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) to Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) have called for the classified memo’s immediate release.

GOP Lawmakers Shocked By House Intel Report Alleging Surveillance Abuse

A classified House Intelligence Committee memo viewed by Republican lawmakers Thursday has been described as “shocking” and “explosive” by the congressmen who read it.

National security journalist and Fox News contributor Sara Carter reported Thursday that the memo shows “extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse.”

The memo also reportedly contains information about the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), as well as the infamous Trump-Russia dossier.

Carter also writes that sources told her “they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates.”

A four-page memo circulating in Congress that reveals alleged United States government surveillance abuses is being described by lawmakers as “shocking,” “troubling” and “alarming,” with one congressman likening the details to KGB activity in Russia.

Speaking with Fox News, the lawmakers said they could not yet discuss the contents of the memo they reviewed on Thursday after it was released to members by the House Intelligence Committee. But they say the memo should be immediately made public.

“It is so alarming the American people have to see this,” Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said.

“It's troubling. It is shocking,” North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows said. “Part of me wishes that I didn't read it because I don’t want to believe that those kinds of things could be happening in this country that I call home and love so much.”

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said he believed people could lose their jobs after the memo is released.

Hannity: Bombshell Memo on FISA Surveillance Shows Abuse of Power 'Far Worse Than Watergate'

In his opening monologue Thursday night, Sean Hannity called for Special Counsel Robert Mueller to end his "witch hunt" following new revelations about U.S. government FISA surveillance abuses.

He pointed to a four-page memo circulating in Congress that allegedly reveals FISA abuses within the Department of Justice and FBI, which has been described by lawmakers as “shocking,” “troubling” and “alarming.”

"Our sources are telling us that the abuse of power is far bigger than Watergate," Hannity said. "Remember, Watergate was a third-rate break-in. U.S. Humiliates South Korea, Threatens North Korea. Trump Undermines North-South Dialogue

Fearing that peace might break out with the two Koreas talking to each other, Washington instructed South Korean President Moon Jae-in to keep the message about anything but peace. It is not just Trump. A former top official for the Obama administration warned Moon that South Korea was not going to get anywhere with the North Koreans unless they have the “US behind them”. Humiliating, that is like saying that Moon’s “button” is not as big as Kim’s. The metaphor is exactly how the Washington elite see South Korea: as Washington’s obedient proxy state. The official went on to say,

“If South Koreans are viewed as running off the leash, it will exacerbate tension within the alliance”.

Running off the leash! Now more humiliation, is South Korea a US poodle? Instead President Moon Jae-in is showing that he has teeth, and that South Koreans want their country back from US humiliating domination.

Lockheed keeps F-16 production line going with Bahrain deal

Bahrain is set to become the first country in the region to operate Lockheed’s F-16 Block 70 aircraft, in a move that will boost the Falcon’s production line.

Last November, Vice President Mike Pence announced the signature of a deal for the sale of 16 F-16s worth over $2.3 billion to the Gulf country, considering it a “big boost for American jobs and security.”

“We are pleased the Kingdom of Bahrain and the U.S. government have agreed to move forward with the sale of F-16 Block 70 aircraft for the Royal Bahraini Air Force,” said Rick Groesch, regional vice president of international business development at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So what can this fighter jet do?!? Here, from Lockheed's own PR department, come the specs:

Capabilities: the F-16 Block 70

And Vice-President Pence, can you please elaborate on your statement that this deal be a"“big boost for American jobs and security”

No one, sir, should know the facts on the ground regarding Bahrain better than you do; and yet, knowing what you know, you still let this deal go through?!?

Yes, we both understand that it is home to the US Navy's 5th Fleet.

And yes, we both understand the ruling Shiekdom, the Al Khalifa monarchy, has a human rights record just to the right of that of Atilla the Hun.

The Sunni monarchy has been making mincemeat of its primarily Shiia subjects, who have been peacefully advocating for a constitutional monarchy for some time now. And how has the government, and monarchy of Barhain dealt with these peaceful protests?!?

Peaceful demonsrators have consistently received beatings, to torture untrue confessions out of them, then made to appear at kangaroo courts, where they can expect a guilty sentence, and extensive jail time. This has also consistently happened to medical first responders who treated the wounds of those peaceful protestors.

Yes, we both know that this sale was great for Lockheed; but Vice-President Pence, understanding the total and complete anti human rights record of this country, at what moral price to these United States of America was this deal struck?!?

And frankly, what country does the US government expect the Bahraini military to attack with these fighter jets?!? What is the quid pro quo here?!?

The Bahraini government keeps claiming that Iranian Shiia rebels are constantly trying to turn the people of Bahrain against its government and monarchy; was the quid pro quo a tacit understanding that when Saudi Arabia; the US; and Israel decide to attack Iran, that Barhain would become part of the "coalition" to bring regime change to Tehran?!?

I would share something critical to understand for the government and royalty of Bahrain; should Iran be attacked, Russia will most likely enter this war on Iran's side; both politicians and Russian military have promised this to the Iranian government for decades.

I would therefore strongly suggest that you think twice about entering a war which could mean war against both Russia and Iran.

Donald Trump’s First Year and the Illusion of Choice

The striking thing about Trump’s first twelve months compared to the Obama administration is not how different his foreign policies have been, but how similar.

January 20 marks one year since Donald Trump officially became the 45th President of the United States. His supporters, boosted by comments the Donald made on the campaign trail, hoped his Presidency would mark a shift away from a neocon/liberal interventionist foreign policy. In fact we’ve just had more of the same.

The old French saying ‘plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose (the more things change the more they stay the same)’ springs readily to mind. As indeed does the late George Carlin’s comment about Americans only having the “illusion of choice” on the things that really matter.

1.3 million children displaced by Iraq's war with Islamic State - UNICEF

While the Baghdad government last month declared victory over Islamic State after wresting back almost all the territory IS seized in 2014, persistent bombing and shooting attacks make it difficult to rebuild the lives of displaced people, according to UNICEF, the U.N. children’s agency.

“We believe that as a result of the conflict, a lack of investment over the years, and the poverty ... that there are 4 million children now in need across Iraq,” said Peter Hawkins, UNICEF chief representative in the country.

He told a Geneva news briefing by telephone from Baghdad that 1.3 million of the 2.6 million displaced by the often devastating fighting with Islamic State were children.

“While the fighting has come to an end in several areas, spikes of violence continue in others - just this week, three bombings went off in Baghdad,” UNICEF Regional Director Geert Cappelaere said in a statement.

US Military’s ‘Prime Focus’ Will Be Competing With Russia, China

The newest US National Defense Strategy, the first since at 2014, appears to set out a major shift in the focus of America’s massive military and its endless wars, with officials now saying that the global wars on terror, while continuing, will no longer be the “prime focus of US national security.”

Instead, Defense Secretary James Mattis says the new strategy will put the primary focus of the US military engaging in power competition with other “great powers,” with Russia and China apparently the targets.

The “great power” conceit is a very 19th century concept, based around the idea that certain countries have uniquely great influence and authority worldwide. Historically, the great powers tend to view everyone else as pawns to be used in broader global strategies which establish the great powers’ pecking order with respect to one another.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What the hell ever happened, in terms of the US government's "weltanschauung", to moral, peaceful engagement and negotiation, as a non-martial alternative to war, which is rapidly evolving to be "the only answer" to the US government's geopolitical's concerns?!?

Slapping an Israeli Soldier More Newsworthy Than Shooting a Palestinian Child in the Face

Israeli soldiers shot 14-year-old Palestinian Mohammad Tamimi point-blank in the face with a rubber-jacketed bullet on December 14, 2017, in Nabi Saleh, a small village in the occupied West Bank. The boy had to undergo six hours of surgery and was placed in a medically induced coma.

An hour later, Mohammad’s cousin, Ahed Tamimi, slapped and kicked at an armed Israeli soldier. Early the next week, after video of Ahed’s actions went viral, Israeli soldiers raided the Tamimi home at 3 a.m., arresting Ahed and confiscating the family’s phones, computers and laptops.

Ahed has been denied bail and could face years in prison. (Nour Tamimi, a 16-year-old cousin of Ahed’s who is also in the video, was also arrested and has been released on bail. Ahed’s mother Nariman was arrested later that day when she inquired about her daughter, and she remains in custody.)

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a thoroughly media-manipulated war against Palestinians, in which the IDF is depicted as NEVER committing acts of wanton cruelty against Palestinian kids.

The suffering and murders of Palestinian kids (which is a daily occurance in East Jerusalem, and the West Bank) is consistently bleached away from any coverage, and it is always the Palestinians who are the villians.

So the lies keep getting regurgitated, to the point where there is absolutely zero IDF incitement, either verbal, or physical, to have caused these incedents in the first place.

Turkey Escalates Shelling, Says ‘No Turning Back’ From Syria Invasion

Turkish troops continue to mass at the Syrian border Friday, with artillery fire from their positions pounding Kurdish YPG forces in the Syrian Afrin District, and Turkish DM Nurettin Canikli saying this is the “de facto start” of a full-scale Syrian invasion of Kurdish territory.

Turkish officials have threatened this invasion off and on for months, and earlier this week said it was imminent. Canikli says now there is “no turning back” and that the invasion is in progress.

Turkey has long presented the Kurdish YPG as “terrorists,” and insisted they will not allow them to retain territory west of the Euphrates River. To this end, President Erdogan says Turkey will attack Afrin first, then Manbij.

Other Turkish officials, however, say they consider it unacceptable for the YPG to retain any territory near the Turkish border at all, which means nearly all of their territory is at risk from this ongoing operation

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that nothing less than wholesale slaughter of all Kurds. a mass genocide of these people, is all that will be acceptable to the Turkish government.

And have you noticed?!? Even though the shelling against Syria has started from inside the Turkish border, not a world from any of the thoroughly government-compromised presstitutes on corporate US TV have even made mention of the fact that Turkey has, de facto, declared a war against Syria?!?

The following from the BBC is a confirmation that Turkish shelling has intensified, before Turkish tanks and military hardware invade Afrin:

NGO: US-Led Coalition Civilian Killings Tripled in Iraq and Syria in 2017

UK-based NGO Airwars has offered a reckoning of the 2017 air operations of the US-led coalition against ISIS, involving attacks in both Iraq and Syria. The number of civilians killed increased dramatically, with estimates suggesting that they roughly tripled from 2016.

In 2016, they documented an estimated death toll of between 1,243 and 1,904 non-combatants, but in 2017, the estimate was a minimum of 3,923, and potentially as many as 6,102 non-combatants killed.

That’s a huge increase, and a troubling one, in no small part because the US doesn’t admit it’s even happening, with Pentagon assessments putting deaths at no more than a few hundred annually, and around 800 over the entire past four years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And it gets worse, folks: here's a story from alternet.com, to which we should all be paying attention:

Trump Is Turning the State Department into a Global Weapons Dealer

The story goes on to state:

"The Trump administration will soon announce its next move in the ongoing assault on diplomacy and human rights currently taking place in the United States. Through a plan dubbed “Buy American,” the administration is calling for U.S. attachés and diplomats to play a larger role in the sale of U.S. weapons, effectively solidifying their role as lobbyists for the arms industry rather than agents of diplomacy.

This means the State Department, the agency that is meant to foster diplomatic relations and maintain peaceful engagement with other countries, will now openly operate as a weapons dealer. The administration is essentially forcing the State Department to undermine itself, as seeking out and expanding opportunities for increased weapons sales are certainly not conducive to fostering peaceful global relations."

If EVER this country needed a "Department of Peace", to figure out non-martial, non-military alternatives to this country's never-ending geopolitical conflicts, it is right the hell now!

Turkey's defense minister has confirmed the Turkish military has begun cross-border shelling of the Syrian Kurdish enclave of Afrin in what he further describes as the "de facto start" of the operation in order to destroy - in President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an's words - Kurdish "terror nests" - and which has been dubbed previously by Turkey as a 'massive cross-border attack.'

Defense Minister Nuettin Canikli said Friday that Ankara "has no option" regarding the planned invasion of Northern Syria to dislodge the YPG (Kurdish "People's Protection Units") and other factions, which it considers an extension of the "terrorist" PKK. Kurdish YPG militias and their media arms began reporting sporadic shelling and clashes earlier this week.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, let me get this straight; Turkey, a NATO member, may well find itself attacking positions where the US, another NATO member, may have troops embedded with the Kurds in Afrin?!?

This is dicey. But what is even more dicey is the reality that if Russia attacks the US in Afrin, we may well be on our way to World War III. The same may well happen if Russian forces strike Turkish forces here.

Cracked Labs' massive report on online surveillance by corporations dissects all the different ways in which our digital lives are tracked, from the ad-beacons that follow us around the web to the apps that track our physical locations as we move around the world.

Importantly, the report shows how tracking companies join up the dots we leave behind, creating stable identifiers that can connect the data-trails from purchases, apps, devices, and clicks, creating a fantastically detailed picture of our lives built up our of these fragmentary details.

This is important because each little fragmentary disclosure can feel harmless at the time, but once they're merged into a unitary whole, the picture they from is disturbingly detailed.

Mother of patient left in cold says her daughter was denied care

The mother of a mentally ill woman who was left outside a Baltimore hospital on a frigid night wearing only a flimsy gown and socks asserted she was denied care by medical professionals and left to face life-threatening conditions on the street. Cheryl Chandler said she was only made aware of her missing 22-year-old daughter's predicament on the night of Jan. 9 when she happened upon a viral video shot by a passer-by who was enraged at the way she was treated.

"I didn't even know that it was my daughter initially," Chandler told CBS News. "As he got close enough, I saw it was her and I got hysterical because in that moment, it was sheer fear that my daughter was going to die."

Webmaster's Commentary:

A society is only as good as its compassion for the most fragile among it; unfortunately, here in the US, we frequently see a massive propensity toward cruelty, and feigning ignorance, when one of its most vulnerable, like Rebecca, gets caught in the cracks of the system.

Dumping her at a bus stop, in her hospital garb, at sub-freezing temperatures?!?

This... is what "American compassion" looks like for far too many of its fragile members.

RICK SACCONE, THE GOP nominee in Pennsylvania’s 18th congressional district, is a former intelligence support consultant for the U.S. Army at the infamous Abu Ghraib prison. He has written extensively in support of interrogation tactics widely condemned by human rights experts as torture.

Over the years, drawing upon his experience in Iraq, Saccone has promoted waterboarding, stress positions, sleep deprivation, as well as threatening prisoners with execution, dogs, and electrocution, as necessary tactics for obtaining information from detainees.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump appeared in North Fayette Township in Pennsylvania to promote Saccone’s candidacy. Despite the district going to Trump by some 20 points in November, the GOP is at risk of losing it to Democrat Conor Lamb.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a Jean-Luc Picard double face-palm, at warp speed, upon reading this.

Holy Heironymous Bosch, Pennsyvania GOP, could you do NO BETTER than selecting a candidate who obviously enjoyed torturing prisoners of war at Abu Ghraib so much, that he still briskly advocates these practices today?!?

Who the hell were the deaf, dumb, and blind people on your selection committee who thought this guy was THE perfectly best choice for the job, and that no other candidate could possibly be as great for the job as this guy?!?

It has been proven, by mountains of scientific evidence, that torture rarely produces actionable intelligence; it simply gets the tortured individual to say what he thinks his torturers want him to say to get the torture to stop.

There was a German interrogator, during World War Two, whose name was Hans Scharff, and he had a brilliant record of extracting information from American and British prisoners without ever once using violence.

Hans Scharff

In fact, after the war, the US military so respected his tactics that he was invited to teach seminars in interrogation to American, using his techniques.

Sure as hell looks like US foreign policy has moved from that kind of treatment of Prisoners of War to something just to the right of Atilla the Hun: and Saccone was complicit in this at Abu Ghraib, completely violating the Geneva Accords, to which the US government is a signatory!!

To the Republicans in Pennsylvania who got this guy nominated, congratulations; because of what this man has done, and what people now know about him, you have probably just thrown this election to his Democratic opponent.

Facebook today announced major changes to their 'newsfeed' which 2 billion people use monthly. Now, Facebook plans to begin asking each user to rank their trust in various news organizations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump Should Back Up California Law Enforcement Officers Defying Sanctuary State Laws

Can you say the state of California has become a criminal and racketeering operation? Sworn Peace Officers from the city municipality all the way up to the state Highway patrol are stuck between a rock and a hard place. The Federal government under the US Constitution has jurisdiction over enforcing immigration laws. Mayors and the California state governor cannot use the ninth and tenth amendments to justify passing a law making California a sanctuary state.

Why Ruby Ridge Still Matters

Randy Weaver and his family lived in an isolated cabin in the mountains of northern Idaho. Weaver was a white separatist who believed races should live apart; he had no record of violence against other races — or anyone else. An undercover federal agent targeted him and entrapped him into selling a sawed-off shotgun. The feds sought to pressure Weaver, who often indulged in anti-government bluster, to become an informant against the Aryan Nation, but he refused.

Phone-Tracking Device That We've Never Seen in the Wild

For years, in almost complete secrecy, cops and feds in the United States—and elsewhere—have been using powerful devices called Stingrays, cell site simulators, or IMSI catchers to track and spy on cell phones.

Over the last few years, and only after long legal fights and several public documents requests, we've learned a little bit more about IMSI catchers, including some of the agencies that use them. Yet we've rarely seen them. Some official pictures have been published online, mostly mined from patent applications, but we've practically never seen them in the wild until now.

Here's a picture of a stack of IMSI catchers, which trick phones into connecting to them by pretending to be a cell tower, sitting on what is likely the seat of a police car or van.

The Deep State And The “Alarming” Memo On FISA Abuses

A four-page memo circulating in Congress that reveals alleged United States government surveillance abuses is being described by lawmakers as “shocking,” “troubling” and “alarming,” with one congressman likening the details to KGB activity in Russia.

Speaking with Fox News, the lawmakers said they could not yet discuss the contents of the memo they reviewed on Thursday after it was released to members by the House Intelligence Committee. But they say the memo should be immediately made public.

“It is so alarming the American people have to see this,” Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said.

“It’s troubling. It is shocking,” North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows said. “Part of me wishes that I didn’t read it because I don’t want to believe that those kinds of things could be happening in this country that I call home and love so much.”

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said he believed people could lose their jobs after the memo is released.

Paying For The Surveillance State: Detroit Businesses Are Being FORCED To Pay To Allow Police To SPY On Their Customers

In yet another shocking example of the ever increasing American police state, the Mayor of Detroit is planning to mandate that all businesses that stay open later than 10pm be equipped with surveillance equipment that said businesses would then be forced to pay for.

The mandate would increase the amount of businesses taking part in Project Green Light from 230 to upwards of 4,000. Over 200 businesses have already voluntarily signed up for what is essentially a video surveillance system that is directly monitored at a main police hub in the city.

Syria threatens to 'destroy' Turkish warplanes

Syria threatened on Thursday to "destroy" any Turkish warplanes that fly into its territory as Ankara prepares to launch a cross-border military operation to wipe out Kurdish fighters it calls "terrorists".

Turkish officials have repeatedly vowed to attack the Syrian-Kurd militia known as the YPG at any moment in the Afrin region in northern Syria, near the border with Turkey.

The move comes after the United States announced this week it would train the YPG-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to be part of a 30,000-strong "border force" - a statement US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Thursday was "misportrayed".

Webmaster's Commentary:

And to that, we have the following update on a very tense situation, vis a vis Turkey and Syria, from just several hours ago:

Russia moving military "observies into Syria's Afrin

How quickly Russian assets can move from "Observer" to "Participant" status remains to be seen. But I think we can count on one thing for sure: Russia will do just whatever Al Assad asks then to do.

IF Turkey attacks US forces in Syria, this will be an ugly scene of NATO member firing on fellow NATO member.

IF Russian and the US mlitary turn this conflict into a shooting war between themselves, we are looking, potentially, at the start of World War III.

Kiev’s actions with regard to Donbass look like preparation for new war — Foreign Ministry

Ukraine’s passing the law on the reintegration of Donbass can be seen as preparations for a new war, says a commentary of the Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

"Since being approved under the first reading (on October 6, 2017), the document, although having undergone certain corrections, has preserved its main orientation - to legislatively confirm Kiev’s policy towards the settlement of the ‘problem of Donbass’ through the use of force," the ministry said.

"In particular, it announced reformatting of the so-called anti-terrorist operation into a military one and delegation of control over it to the military to whom all the rest law enforcement officers will be subordinated," it said.

Ukraine’s parliament passes law on Donbass reintegration
"In essence, Poroshenko gets unrestricted, almost dictatorial powers for suppressing dissidence and discontent. This cannot be called otherwise than preparations for a new war," it stressed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And on top of THAT, we have the following articles, which do not augur well for peace in the region:

Trump Administrtion Approves lethal weapons sales to Ukraine

This deal is valued at +/- $41.5 million dollars. Precisely when the weapons will arrive has not yet been revealed.

And then, we have this little gem:

Ukrainian Parliament Passes a Bill to Wrest "Occupied Territories from Russia"

Good luck with THAT!!

There is just one little tiny, teensy logic flaw here, specifically when it comes to Crimea; Russia never, ever annexed Crimea.

And please remember how President Barak Obama characterized the putsch:

Washington was behind the Ukraine Coup; Obama admits it brokered a deal in support of regime change The article goes on to state:

"US President Barack Obama’s recent interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakiria reveals the United States’ involvement in the Ukrainian crisis from its outset and that the country worked directly with Ukrainian right-wing fascist groups, experts told Sputnik.

On Sunday, in his interview with CNN, Obama admitted that the United States “had brokered a deal to transition power in Ukraine.”

“Obama’s statement is reiterating something that the world public opinion already knew — the US was involved in the coup of [ex-Ukrainian President] Viktor Yanukovych from the start. History shows us that the US has overthrown numerous governments in Latin America, Asia and Africa and replaced them with leaders that ruled with a fascist ideology that proved useful for Washington’s geopolitical interests,” independent researcher and writer Timothy Alexander Guzman told Sputnik.

After the US sponsored Putch in Ukraine in 2014, which threw the duly elected Yanukovich under the proverbial bus, and "installed" Poroshenko (the candy guy, remember?!?) in Kiev, with an election more crooked than a dog's hind leg, the Crimeans understood that there was no more a legitimate, national Ukrainian government.

So what did they do?!? They held two free, and fair, referundums, the first being to ask their citizens if they wanted to stay in Ukraine, or join the Russian Federation. Overwhelmingly, Crimea's citizens wanted to join the Russian Federation. After that, the Russian Federation, agreed, and Crimea became a part of the Russian Federation.

But because of wanting to keep the optics negative on "Bad Russia, it annexed Crimea!" the US, and Ukrainian governments refuse to call it "an act of peaceful self-determination", which it was, and which is enshrined in the UN Charter, to which Ukraine and the US are both (allegedly) signatories.

But two things are powerfully clear here; the US government lies consistently, and regime changes other countries to suit its geopolitical agenda, and even with the US weapons, the Ukrainian military are going to be utterly no match for what the Russians will give their soldiers, potentially fighting in Eastern Ukraine.

A Bombshell House Intelligence report exposing extensive FISA abuse could lead to the removal of senior government officials

A review of a classified document outlining what is described as extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse was made available to all House members Thursday and the revelations could lead to the removal of senior officials in the FBI and Department of Justice, several sources with knowledge of the document stated. These sources say the report is “explosive,” stating they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates.

The House Intelligence Committee passed the motion along party lines Thursday to make the classified report alleging extensive ‘FISA Abuse’ related to the controversial dossier available to all House members. The report contains information regarding the dossier that alleges President Trump and members of his team colluded with the Russians in the 2016 presidential election. Some members of the House viewed the document in a secure room Thursday.

Wealthy exodus to escape new tax rules worries California Democrats

The Republican-backed federal tax bill flipped the tables on a never-ending question for California politicians: Will high taxes lead the state’s wealthiest residents to flee the Golden State for the comparable tax havens of Florida, Nevada and Texas?

Republicans reliably raise that alarm when Democrats advocate for tax increases, like the 2012 and 2016 ballot initiatives that levied a new income tax on very high-earning residents.

But now, with the federal tax bill cutting off deductions that benefited well-off Californians, the state’s Democrats suddenly are singing the GOP song about a potential millionaire exodus.

“People with higher incomes pay a lot more money, and some of them may be tempted to leave,” Gov. Jerry Brown said when he unveiled his 2018-19 budget proposal last week. “This was an assault by the Republicans in Congress against California.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Governor Brown, that last statement was pure bull-biscuits, sir, and you know it!!

In this country, every individual has the right to "vote with their feet", as a lot of well-to-do Californians have already done. When a state's tax burden becomes too high (as California's already is), and there is really nothing to show for the money spent, like a consistently dysfunctional educational system; health care which cannot deliver; a massive gap between wages and corporate profits; and the voluntary saddling of the state's infrastructure with illegal immigrants whose presence has bled the State of California dry, through entitlements, etc., you have.... a non-functional, failed US State.

And Governor Brown, this is precisely where California stands right now. In fact, if you have chosen NOT to read it, I highly commend the following article in the LA Times: Why is liberal California the poverty capital of America?

The hard and true reality is this; for quite some time, legislation made on the State level, has brought California to its knees, in terms of stopping it from being the kind of growth engine one wants to see, and should see, here.

And California, its citizens and businesses, are paying the price for many amazingly lousy legislative decisions made by people who do not have a clue how business works, and how they profit, because they have always had various jobs with the State before they run for public office.

So to those tax/infrastructure/fed up better-to-do Californians who are really ready to vote with their feet, let me encourage you to do so; the State of California has brought this upon itself, and if it cannot fix it, you have every right to leave for states with better, more sensible tax structures than does California.

Investigative journalist Robert Parry reveals how US-funded political NGOs and media companies have emerged since the 1980s, replacing the CIA in promoting America’s geopolitical agenda abroad.

As Russia-Insider details, Ukraine on Fire provides a historical perspective for the deep divisions in the region which led to the 2004 Orange Revolution, the 2014 uprisings, and the violent overthrow of democratically-elected Yanukovych. Covered by Western media as a 'popular revolution', it was in fact a coup d'état scripted and staged by ultra-nationalist groups and the US State Department.

Executive producer Oliver Stone gained unprecedented access to the inside story through his on-camera interviews with former President Viktor Yanukovych and Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaliy Zakharchenko, who explain how the US Ambassador and factions in Washington actively plotted for regime change.

Facebook and Google Outline Unprecedented Mass Censorship at US Senate Hearing

Behind the backs of the US and world populations, social media companies have built up a massive censorship apparatus staffed by an army of “content reviewers” capable of seamlessly monitoring, tracking, and blocking millions of pieces of content.

The character of this apparatus was detailed in testimony Wednesday from representatives of Facebook, Twitter, and Google’s YouTube before the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, chaired by South Dakota Republican John Thune.

The hearing was called to review what technology companies are doing to shut down the communications of oppositional political organizations. It represented a significant escalation of the campaign, supported by both Democrats and Republicans, to establish unprecedented levels of censorship and control over the Internet.

Targeted for nonviolent resistance: Israel seeks imprisonment of Palestinian activist Munther Amira

The Israeli military court at Ofer, which has over a 99% conviction rate, ruled on Tuesday to extend the detention of Palestinian activist Munther Amira until next Sunday pending further interrogation.

Amira, 47, the head of the Coordinator of the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC) in the occupied West Bank, is well known and highly respected across the Palestinian territory and his home, the Aida refugee camp, for his nonviolent activism against the Israeli occupation.

Amira was arrested by Israeli forces on December 27 during a routine protest in front of Israel’s illegal separation wall in northern Bethlehem city, in the southern occupied West Bank.

Amira, along with dozens of Palestinians, were demonstrating against US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and the arrest of 16-year-old activist Ahed al-Tamimi, who had been detained one week prior.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Koreas’ Olympic Détente Upends US Strategy

The 20+ nations in Vancouver talking about North Korea repeatedly heard the same message from US officials: pay no attention to the bilateral talks between North and South Korea, with officials suggesting they not be “fooled” by the talks and suggesting that nothing would come of them.

That’s a problem for the US though, because something is coming of those talks. North and South Korea may have generations of mistrust to work through, but made big progress in just a few meetings, agreeing to march unified at next month’s Winter Olympic, and even field a common team for ice hockey.

Significant reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula seems to be happening, and it’s a big blow to Trump Administration strategy, which has centered on isolating North Korea and presenting the whole world, beyond China and Russia of course, as unified against them.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This...is the absolute, polar opposite from what the US government wanted to see out of these talks, which was more acrimony and more separation between North and South Korea.

Which is why you see Rex Tillerson, sounding nearly completely unhinged, and detached, again from all reality, making the following statement:

Tillerson threatens military action against North Korea

The article goes on to state:

"Tillerson’s position doesn’t make a lot of sense with all factors considered, suggesting the US goal is negotiations, and that the US would respond to North Korea’s refusal to negotiate with military force against them.

In reality, North Korea has repeatedly suggested negotiations in recent weeks, and been rebuffed every single time by the US. Tillerson is clearly aware of this, as every time he’s suggested talks, he too has been condemned by other Trump Administration officials."

It is unfortunate that the 25th Amendment to the US constitution only applies to the President, and not others down the chain of command.

U.S. Warns Investors to Avoid Venezuela's 'Petro' Cryptocurrency

The U.S. Treasury Department is concerned about Venezuela’s new “petro” cryptocurrency and is warning investors to steer clear or face unspecified consequences.

The U.S. Treasury said Tuesday that Venezuela’s petro could put U.S. citizens at “legal risk” because investing in the cryptocurrency potentially conflicts with U.S. sanctions against the South American country, according to a Reuters report.

“Available information indicates that, once issued, the petro digital currency would appear to be an extension of credit to the Venezuelan government,” the Treasury department said in a statement.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said in December that Venezuela would create its own Bitcoin-like cryptocurrency to “defeat the financial blockade and move toward new forms of international financing for the economic and social development of the country.”

Turkey launches first ground operation in northern Iraq

The Turkish military has launched a land operation against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, stating that its aim is to “prevent PKK militants from threatening border security.”

The operation is the first time in nine years that Turkish land forces have engaged in Iraq.

Commando units entered the Zap region of Iraq after crossing from the Çukurca district of the southeastern province of Hakkari. The move, which is part of “Operation Zap,” came after the military determined an increase in movement of outlawed militants in the area, Do?an News Agency reported on Oct. 18.

A total of 21 PKK militants have been “neutralized” since the air-supported operations began on Oct. 16, according to statements made by the military. Authorities use the word “neutralized” to refer to militants who are killed, wounded or captured.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even though this happened last Sunday, and one might think that this is at least some kind of "big deal", not a word in the western media about Turkey launching a ground invasion of Iraq.

Tillerson: US Troops Will Remain in Syria to Stop Resurrection of Daesh

The diplomatic efforts of the United States in Syria will focus on stabilization measures and a political solution to the conflict there, but not on nation-building, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said in a speech on the US strategy in Syria.

Meanwhile, the United States has sent additional diplomats to Syria since May to help address the country's conflict, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson stressed in a speech.

"Since May, the United States has deployed additional diplomats to the affected areas in Syria working with the United Nations, our partners in the global coalition to defeat ISIS [Daesh] and various non-governmental organizations," Tillerson said.

Moreover, US Secretary of State said that the United States would maintain a military presence in Syria to ensure that the Daesh terror group does not re-emerge in the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Rex, Rex, Rex, Rex, Rex, Rex!!!!

Forgive me, sir, but in what alternative, fact-free universe do you continue to live, sir?!?

At the behest of the Syrian Government, Russian troops have made absolute mincemeat out of Daesh, sending them collectively scurrying out of Syria with their collective tails between their legs. But there is one thing you have chosen, very carefully , to leave out of your speech, verified in a number of articles in the international press:

In secret deal, President Trump Allowed ISIS fighters safe passage out of Raqqa

Video emerges: US allowing ISIS fighters to escape safely from Syria

Trump enrages Turkey; lest hundreds of Islamic State members to leave Raqqa.

US airlifts ISIS/Daesh terrorists out of Syria for the 2nd time in a week

And last, but not least, validated earlier this month:Images: US creates safe passage for Daesh out of Syria

Can you say, "collusion", Secretary of State Tillerson?!? Wow! I knew you could!!

Oh, and on to another related story:

Syrian Arby vow to end US presence in Syria

The Syrians have been working very successfully with Russian troops to get Daesh out of Syria.

So I must ask, Secretary of State Tillerson; are the 30,000 troops in Syria the "sacrificial lambs" to be used to create a false flag against Russia, as a pretext for war against it?

Because right now, in light of the documented reality that the US goverment has been in collusion with, and supporting Daesh, militarily and financially, I can come up with no other reasonable explanation for their presence here.

Nearly 100 women will read victim impact statements this week, sharing their accounts of the horrific sexual assault they endured when they were young girls, at the hands of Larry Nassar—and in doing so, they are also revealing that USA Gymnastics enabled the predator.

“You failed all of us, and for that, I see you in the same category of criminal as I do the criminal standing before us today,” Olivia Cowan said in court on Tuesday, addressing the roles of USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University in allowing Nassar’s abuse to continue for decades.

Cowan accused the organizations of ignoring numerous complaints about Nassar’s conduct and noted that they have still refused to take responsibility for their role in the abuse, claiming they were never alerted to Nassar’s serial abuse.

The FBI has asked retired Australian policeman-turned investigative journalist, Michael Smith, to provide information he has gathered detailing multiple allegations of the Clinton Foundation receiving tens of millions of mishandled taxpayer funds, according to LifeZette.
“I have been asked to provide the FBI with further and better particulars about allegations regarding improper donations to the CF funded by Australian taxpayers,” Smith told LifeZette.

Of note, the Clinton Foundation received some $88 million from Australian taxpayers between 2006 and 2014, reaching its peak in 2012-2013 - which was coincidentally (we're sure) Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard's last year in office.

After 15 years of repudiating claims that the invasion of Iraq was only initiated to seize Iraqi resources, large oil corporations fronted by former architects of the war who vacated to the private sector are flagrantly advertising their contracts for exploration and production of Iraqi oil fields to potential investors.

The British oil and gas company BP won the contract to operate the Rumaila Oil Field back in 2009, and now proudly boast of its new drilling capabilities on Twitter. Rumaila is simply huge; by some measures it is the third largest reserve of crude oil on the planet, and is currently extracting 100 million dollars worth of oil every day – enough to cover the annual health budget of Iraq under the wartime rule of the US coalition every five days.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So now, it can be honestly shouted from the rooftops; one of the biggest winners in the war against Iraq is... BRITISH PETROLEUM!!

Funny; I don't remember the Butchers of Baghdad (that unholy triumverate of Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld) saying anything about the ultimate winners of the Iraq war being the large petroleum companies who would profit by a takeover of the Iraqi oil fields, or how the US would benefit from that oil only being sold in US dollars.

To the young men and women who enlisted shortly after 9/11, and thought that a war against Iraq would be the perfect revenge; you were decieved with every piece of nationalistic codswallop the US government threw at you, and you swallowed all of them whole.

This war was not about honor, courage, or preserving and defending "the American way of life", whatever that is supposed to be; it was about the money to be made from Iraq's oil reserves, and the reality that the oil would only be sold in US dollars.

Of course, the US warmongering politicians, who benefit greatly from their relationships with America's military/industrial complex, attending memorials for one of our fallen, can never tell the truth as to why this war was initiated in the first place; so they simply reguritate the lies which stand as "cover" for the ugly truth that all wars, including the Iraq war, are truly economic in their origin.

At this moment in time, we stand on a precipice of yet another world war, most likely to be initiated by the American Deep State.

To those young people of draft age, if in fact you have dual citizenship in a country not on the US's invasion route (somewhere maybe like Switzerland, Australia, or Monaco) perhaps heading to those places, and hunkering down there, might not be a bad idea at the moment. And I say that because were I a betting person, I would not bet against the draft being reinstituted in this country, and relatively quickly.

The US government understands that the economy in this country is about to crash, so it desperately needs a war, regional or world-wide, to deflect American attention from the real economic mess into which it has placed all but the most elite, and most monied.

The potential scenarios for conflict are everywhere, and I will mention the most obvious here.

1. The US military is establishing a 30,000 troop strong "buffer zone" for the Kurds in Syria. The Syrian and Russian government are screaming at the US to stand down... or else. And this gets complicated because Turkey's Edrogan has threatened, and appears to be readying, an invasion Syria, to prevent that from happening. So you have NATO allies, potentially the US and Turkey, at each other's throats, militarily.

The longer the US stays inside Syria, the more likely a hot conflict with Russia over this illegal invasion of Syria by the US military.

2. North Korea/China. Even though North and South Korea appear to be making splendid progress in recent negotiations toward peace, expect the US to scupper what it can, in terms of creating a war between North Korea, China, and the US. Statements as recently as yesterday, indicate that the US government is terrified of peace breaking out here, with President Trump making the observation that it is possible that these negotiations will not lead to a denuclearization of the North Korean Penninsula, and Tillerson's observation that the US will not honor the "freeze for freeze" concept, presented by Russia and China.

3. Russia/Iran. I have already mentioned the possibility of war over Syria between Russia and the United States, but there are many other potential flashpoints, Ukraine being a very likely scenario. But should the US/Saudi Arabia/Israel attack Tehran, in order to bring regime change there, it should reasonably expect Russia to defend Iran militarily. And we have seen, in Syria, that Russia does have military hardware which works spectacularly well, and countries around the world have been making a beeline to Moscow to acquire these weapons.

4. China/India: there are still massive geopolitical problems here, and both countries are nuclear armed. In a conflict between China and India, the US government has thrown its hat in the ring with India, with an enhanced "security agreement" put into effect by the Obama administration.

5. India/Pakistan: Again, both countries are nuclear armed, and have been threatening each other with nuclear war. Recently, the US government withdrew financial aid to Pakistan. And, as mentioned in an earlier post today, India just tested a nuclear-capable missile, the "jewel in the crown", if you will, of their ICBMs.

So please remember, when the propaganda starts getting spread hard and thick by the presstitutes, as a "justification" for war, any war, please remember; wars are about the rich (and the bankers) getting richer, and the "grunts" being completely expendable, through death or massive injury, after having done what they were tasked to do. All wars are mass murders toward those ends, period, end of discussion, wrapped in a pretty, cheap little flag.

And "patriotism" is the pathological disability to see beyond the propaganda, and to deconstruct the real agendas of war, which are always engineered to bring more money and profits for the already monied and profitable.

India tests-fires Agni-V, a nuclear-capable ICBM

India has successfully test-fired a long-range intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), the country's Defense Ministry said Thursday.

The nuclear-capable Agni-V is believe to be India's most advanced ICBM. It was fired Thursday morning India time from Abdul Kalam island off the coast of the eastern state of Odisha, the ministry said in a tweet.

It called the test a "major boost" to the country's defense capabilities.

We have to hope that this war of words will not escalate into a shooting war between India and Pakistan.

Pakistani threat about nuclear war comes after threat by Indian Military Chief Rawat

In his statement, as reported in the Hindustan Times, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said Friday his military was ready to call Pakistan’s “nuclear bluff” and carry out aggressive military operations across the border.

"We will call the (nuclear) bluff of Pakistan. If we will have to really confront the Pakistanis, and a task is given to us, we are not going to say we cannot cross the border because they have nuclear weapons. We will have to call their nuclear bluff," Gen. Rawat warned, responding to a question during a press conference on the “possibility of Pakistan using its nuclear weapons in case the situation along the border deteriorates,” said the Hindustan Times.'

Trump Warns Xi That "Disappointing" Surge In China Trade Deficit Is "Not Sustainable"

While President Trump "expressed hope" that the resumed inter-Korean dialogue may prompt a change in North Korea’s destructive behavior, perhaps more notable was the fact that President Trump used the call "express disappointment that the United States’ trade deficit with China has continued to grow" and made clear that "the situation is not sustainable."

Tillerson Breaks With White House, Rejects Freeze Of Military Exercises Near North Korea

In a direct reversal with the recently disclosed official White House policy, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the U.S. rejects a 'freeze for freeze' approach that would pause joint U.S./South Korean military drills in exchange for a pause to North Korea's nuclear program.

Speaking in Vancouver at a meeting with foreign ministers, Tillerson said that "we reject a 'freeze for freeze' approach, in which legitimate defensive military exercises are placed on the same level as the DPRK’s unlawful actions. The pressure campaign will continue until North Korea takes decisive steps to de-nuclearize."

Turkey Notifies NATO Of Imminent Massive Invasion Of Syria To Fight Kurds

Turkey is poised for an imminent massive ground invasion of Northern Syria to quash Kurdish militia groups currently holding Afrin near the Turkish border. Multiple regional outlets have reported a build-up of forces that could constitute the largest external intervening force thus far in the entirety of the Syrian war.

According to Middle East based Al-Sura News, Turkey's military build-up currently underway includes special forces troops, Army units, Turkish-backed Syrian Rebels and Turkey's air force. The Kurdish YPG/J (People's Protection Units) has held Afrin since the Syrian government withdrew from the area in 2012, which constitutes the western-most part of the self-declared Rojava autonomous Kurdish zone.

Lavrov: Russia, China urge freeze to any confrontation on Korean Peninsula

A military solution to the Korean crisis would lead to catastrophic consequences, the Russian foreign minister said, adding that Russia and China reiterate their call to freeze the confrontation and military drills in the area.
RT's LIVE UPDATES on Lavrov's annual press Q&A

The Russian foreign minister spoke about the Russian-Chinese roadmap for a resolution to the crisis on the Korean Peninsula during his annual press Q&A on Monday. Moscow and Beijing have called on all parties to “calm down” and freeze any military activities, including North Korean missile tests and US drills in the area with South Korea and Japan.

“I have already mentioned that the United States almost openly speaks about the inevitability of a military solution, although everyone understands the disastrous consequences of this gamble,” Lavrov stated.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Of course, what China and Russia are advocating is perfectly, completely logical... which is why the US government and military are objecting to it outright!!

US-Backed Syrian Kurds Mobilize Civilians, Turkey May Attack ‘At Any Moment’

The Kurdish YPG is scrambling to raise its civilian population into an irregular force in the Afrin District of Northern Syria, desperately trying to shore up defenses ahead of a Turkish invasion which officials say could happen “at any moment.”

Turkey’s President Erdogan vowed such an invasion over the weekend, and has been talking it up ever since, insisting now that Turkey needs to not only take Afrin, but to strangle the US-backed border army before it is fully operational.

The US has said the border force will be 30,000-strong, and Erdogan is loudly opposed to the idea, calling it a “terror army,” and insisting that the only reason to establish such a border force would be to attack Turkey.

Webmaster's Commentary:

War with Turkey (and, potentially, Russia) over Northern Syria?!?

This is completely insane, on the part of all parties, except for Syria, which simply wants to be left alone, and Russia, which severely frowns on this illegal occupation on the part of the US.

This could go absolutely out of control at any moment. Let us hope that some adults in the room (Namely, Putin and Lavrov) can ratchet down the tensions before this escalates past the point of no return.

State admits recording jail conversations between defense lawyers and clients

For four years, a tucked-away monitoring system in a certain visitation room at the Anchorage jail recorded conversations between attorneys and their clients — defendants in criminal court – without anyone knowing.

Now defense attorneys are concerned — some are livid — about what they say is a striking violation of basic constitutional rights.

Quinlan Steiner, the state public defender, in December learned from the state that the recordings were secretly and routinely made from 2012 to 2016. The files were automatically recorded over every 30 days. The new information was circulated last month to about 120 Alaska criminal defense lawyers.

"It's not a close call. It's not permissible," Steiner said of the recorded conversations between lawyers and defendants. "They have to be confidential so they can be candid."

America’s shadow war in Africa

A central focus of the mission is the vast desert nation of Niger, nearly twice the size of Texas, which has been a magnet for jihadists of many stripes, including those recruited locally and so-called foreign fighters drawn from North Africa, the Middle East and beyond.

In June, the official number of U.S. troops supporting Niger’s military as it fights the militant groups was 645, up from 575 in December 2016. But now it’s at least 800, according to the Pentagon.

Many of the troops are Green Berets, Navy SEALs and Marine Raiders, but officials said the reinforcements have mostly been Air Force personnel who are there to manage a surge in surveillance flights by unmanned drones and manned spy planes.

Syrian Army Vow to End US Presence in Syria

The Syrian Foreign Ministry has responded negatively to the US pledge to create a new “border” force in northern Syria of some 30,000 US-backed fighters, saying not only are they violating Syrian sovereignty, but the Syrian Army’s goal must be to end the US presence in the country outright.

Syria has long opposed the US military presence in the country, which was deployed without Syrian permission, and which Pentagon officials say will last long after the outright defeat of ISIS.

Whether the Syrians can do anything about it is another matter. The US presence in Syria is substantial, and backed by a large, heavily-armed Kurdish force. Despite the US deployment being plainly illegal, there’s no practical way to remove them by force.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The real question is, how long with the Russians put up with this American foolishness until they feel pressed to "do something militarily" to end it?!?

A group of Princeton and Purdue researchers have demonstrated a successful acoustic attack against mechanical hard-drives where low-frequency noise keyed to the resonant frequency of the drive components is played nearby, causing the drive to vibrate so that the drive can neither be read nor written to.

The researchers demonstrated the attack under lab conditions, successfully preventing a CCTV's DVR from recording the camera signal and stopping a laptop from being able to use its operating system.

The attack is not ready for primetime yet, though: this preliminary work requires relative precision in speaker placement as well as knowledge of the make and model of the target drives. However, the researchers hypothesize that with some refinements, the attack could be carried out by, for example, tricking (or hacking) a victim into playing the correct tone through their computer or device speakers.

Health Ranger calls for First Amendment to be expanded to the online world: Vindictive censorship must be STOPPED

Tech giants have been infiltrated by left-wing “cultists” who literally believe that they have the right to suppress and destroy any speech with which they disagree. US illegal rogue state empire shits on ‘former’ colonial targets annually killing millions, harming billions, looting trillions. Demanding .01% arrests for OBVIOUS Crimes Against Humanity, or prefer causing shitholes under propaganda shitstorms?

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

hat tip: Kauilapele’s Blog

On January 12th, The Washington Post reported from anonymous “people” at a White House meeting:

“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump said, according to these people, referring to countries mentioned by the lawmakers.

Corporate media ignores the overwhelming and ongoing emergencies of so-called “former” colonial nations suffering under military attacks by so-called “developed” nations that annually kill millions, harm billions, and loot trillions. These facts cause the US to most accurately be labeled a “lying and illegal rogue state empire” rather than what We the People are propagandized as “limited government under the US Constitution.”

DHS restarts Obama-era DACA amnesty after judge’s ruling

Amazing! Trump isn't allowed to rescind an executive order.I have never seen such a weak President.

DACA is back up and running, Homeland Security announced this weekend, saying President Trump’s attempt to phase out the Obama-era deportation amnesty is on hold while they fight a court case that ordered them to begin accepting applications again.

Only those among the 800,000 or so previously approved can submit applications for renewal, under the judger’s order. And those covered by DACA will no longer be granted advance parole, which had become a shortcut pathway to citizenship in the Obama administration.

But U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services said it will otherwise restore DACA as it was on Sept. 5, before Mr. Trump decided on a six-month phaseout, saying the program was illegal.

Dem Support For Trump Surveillance Powers Proves “Resistance” Is Bull*hit

This author I think has got it right. We are being played with a big psyop!
By Caitlin Johnstone

January 13, 2017 "Information Clearing House" - The so-called “Resistance”, the think tank-generated campaign to continue the authentic grassroots energy from the Bernie Sanders campaign and artificially harness it to oppose Donald Trump, is bullshit. It always has been bullshit. It always will be bullshit.
The leaders of the “Resistance” do not oppose Donald Trump. They are Donald Trump dressed in drag.

This is a continuation of a standard trend in which “Resistance” leaders publicly claim that Trump is a traitor, an aspiring autocrat, a secret Nazi, dangerously incompetent and mentally ill, yet continue heaping godlike powers upon him anyway, like when they let the continued authorization of his unconstitutional AUMF war powers sail through unnoticed a few months ago. Their words say one thing, their actions say another.

Working cryptography's pretty amazing: because of its fundamental theoretical soundness, we can trust it to secure the firmware updates to our pacemakers; the conversations we have with our loved ones, lawyers and business colleagues; the financial transactions the world depends on; and the integrity of all sorts of data, communications and transactions.

The FBI hates encryption, because they thought the digital world could be one where, for the first time in history, they'd be able to store and look through every conversation anyone has, anywhere, and crypto means that they can only spy on people with a warrant, using traditional techniques like hidden mics, informants, and subpoenas.

The FBI -- along with many other law enforcement and surveillance agents -- insists that it is possible to make crypto that will protect our devices, transactions, data, communications and lives, but which will fail catastrophically whenever a cop needs it to.

A three-year-old Palestinian was shot in the head during an Israeli “military training” session in the northern occupied West Bank city of Tubas.

According to a statement by the Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Health, the child was hit in the head with live bullets. He was taken to Rafidia Surgical hospital in Nablus.

She pointed out that the child’s relatives told “medical staff that he was shot during IDF training in the area.”

“The health situation of the injured child is stable,” the ministry said.

Whistleblowers Rebuke FISA Extension That Treats Americans Like ‘Terrorists’

The US House of Representatives voted on Thursday to extend the National Security Agency’s (NSA) warrantless surveillance program for another six years. The controversial program, upbraided as an unconstitutional invasion of privacy by critics, is part of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

Brian Becker and John Kiriakou, hosts of Radio Sputnik's Loud & Clear, unveiled the specifics and history of FISA with the help of two guests: William Binney, a famous whistleblower who spent 30 years with the National Security Agency (NSA) before leaving the agency over what he has described as its "totalitarian" approach to surveillance "better than anything that the KGB, the Stasi, or the Gestapo and SS ever had;" and Coleen Rowley, an FBI agent-turned-whistleblower who gained her greatest fame for accusing the FBI of mishandling intelligence chatter that could have potentially prevented the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Fighting Fake News: Back Door Trick to Enact Censorship?

Fighting fake news is the new pretext given by the ruling cabal in many nations to enact censorship via the back door. Amid the rallying cries of “We must fight fake news!” both France (under would-be dictator Macron) and now Brazil are attempting to pass legislation to ban political content on the web that the government deems to be fake news. There is a theme to this, as it follows on from many acts of censorship in 2016 and 2017. Whether it’s Twitter shadowbanning, Facebook rolling our fake news checkers or deleting entire accounts, YouTube embarking upon soft censorship through forced sign-ins or hard censorship by deleting entire channels, Google’s search engine hiding websites (by de-ranking them) or – worst of all – Google demonetizing content and sites not to its liking, censorship is clearly getting worse and threatening to overtake a free and open internet.

Congress Plotting To Cut a Hole in the 4th Amendment, Again

FISA did not interfere with the standard understanding or use of the Fourth Amendment by the government and the courts. But it did add another way for the government to invade privacy when its wish is to surveil people for national security purposes – a return to general warrants – as opposed to solely gathering evidence of crimes.

The FISA-created procedure, enacted in defiance of the Fourth Amendment – which makes no distinction between government evidence gathering and government intelligence gathering – permits a secret court in Washington to issue general warrants based on the government’s need to gather intelligence about national security from foreigners among us. It pretends that the standard is probable cause of foreign agency, but this has now morphed into the issuance of general warrants whenever the government wants them.

G2: Good plan. I’ve heard about zits, but have never seen one.

Pentagon Program to Revive Afghan Economy Failed to Account for $675Mln

The US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction said that the Department of Defense's program had spent hundreds of millions to revive Afghan economy, but can't provide reliable data on where the money actually went.

A US Department of Defense program called the Task Force for Business and Stability Operations (TFBSO) spent $675 million on the Afghan economy from 2011 to 2014, but left few records to show where the money went, a report said.

"DOD was unable to provide reliable data showing the extent to which TFBSO projects created jobs, facilitated foreign direct investments, increased exports, or increased Afghan government revenues," the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) said on Tuesday.
