Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin among 50 snared in elite college cheating scam, authorities say

Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were among more than four dozen people charged in a nationwide college admissions cheating scandal that involved wealthy individuals paying up to $6.5 million to place their children into elite universities, according to court records revealed Tuesday.

The alleged scam -- which involved students being placed into top colleges such as Yale, Georgetown, Stanford, University of Southern California, UCLA and the University of Texas -- was run by a man in California, William Rick Singer, who helped parents get their children into the schools through bribes, court documents unsealed in Boston showed. Officials have been investigating the scam for more than a year.

Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin among actresses, CEOs charged in alleged college admissions scam

Federal prosecutors in Boston on Tuesday charged 50 people, including the actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, in the largest college admissions cheating scam ever prosecuted in the United States.

Authorities say the operation, dubbed Varsity Blues, uncovered 33 parents described by US Attorney Andrew Lelling as a "catalog of wealth and privilege" who collectively paid $25 million to a college admissions counselor named William Singer, who pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate in an investigation into what Lelling called the "widening corruption of elite college admissions."

In exchange for the money, Singer allegedly bribed college officials, coaches and college entrance exam administrators, who then helped students secure admissions "not on their merits but through fraud," Lelling said.

Officials say 13 people were arrested by the FBI in Los Angeles -- including the actresses, who are in custody without incident.

Over 90% of adults struggle with geography questions for 10-year-olds - almost a third are unable to find France on a map and nearly three-quarters are clueless about Canada's capital

British adults aren't quite as knowledgeable about the world as they think they are, a new study has revealed.

Research has found that 90 per cent of people struggle with geography questions that are meant for 10 to 13-year-olds.

For example, nearly a third were unable to identify France on a map while three quarters could not name the capital of Canada.

REPOST: The number-one mind-control program at U.S. colleges

Here is a staggering statistic from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): "More than 25 percent of college students have been diagnosed or treated by a professional for a mental health condition within the past year."

Let that sink in. 25 percent.

Colleges are basically clinics. Psychiatric centers.

Colleges have been taken over. A soft coup has occurred, out of view.

You want to know where all this victim-oriented "I’m triggered" and "I need a safe space" comes from? You just found it.

It’s a short step from being diagnosed with a mental disorder to adopting the role of being super-sensitive to "triggers." You could call it a self-fulfilling prophecy. "If I have a mental disorder, then I’m a victim, and then what people say and do around me is going disturb me…and I’ll prove it."

Universities Across The U.S. Are Adding Cannabis To Their Curriculum

By Aaron Kesel

All across the U.S. colleges are now adding cannabis (both hemp and marijuana) programs to their curriculum, including schools in states where recreational marijuana remains illegal, for students to major in the cannabis industry, according to a new report by CBS 3.

“More jobs are being created in this space than in any other space in North America, with salaries sometimes more competitive than other industries,” Karson Humiston, founder of Vangst, an employment agency focused on cannabis jobs, recently told the Associated Press. “With every new state that legalizes, tons of jobs are opening up.”

Research shows there several career openings in the cannabis industry, varying from greenhouse and dispensary operators to edible product developers, marketing specialists, quality assurance lab directors, and even pharmaceutical researchers...

Trump: If Colleges Want Federal Money, They Will Protect Free Speech

In a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday, President Donald Trump said that he would soon sign an executive order mandating that colleges and universities across the country respect free speech. That is, they will if they want to continue benefitting from the millions in federal funding they currently receive.

Only a day after a liberal lunatic named Zachary Greenberg was arrested by UC Berkeley police for assaulting conservative activist Hayden Williams, President Trump said that it was time to ensure that everyone – conservatives included – had the right to speak their minds on campus without fear of violence or reprise.

Teacher sickout continues Thursday in Jefferson, other counties

Teachers in Jefferson County, Kentucky’s largest public school district continued their sickout on Thursday in protest of lawmakers’ actions in the General Assembly.

School district officials made the announcement Wednesday night.

Fayette County Public Schools, which closed one day last week due to teacher absences, stayed open on Wednesday and Thursday. District spokeswoman Lisa Deffendall said late Wednesday that the number of current Fayette teacher “absences are typical for this time of year.”

The Fayette County Education Association at 10 p.m. Wednesday posted a message on social media saying that group and the Kentucky Education Association were not calling for a teacher sickout Thursday. The Fayette school district and FCEA would be sending teachers and support staff to Frankfort through next week, the post said.

University Dean Takes Stand Over Campus Ban of Chick-fil-A

The dean of the College of Business at Rider University in New Jersey has resigned her position after the school’s decision to ban the Christian-owned Chick-fil-A fast-food chain from opening a restaurant on campus.

Last year, the school sent out a survey asking students which restaurants they would like to have included in campus food service. While Chick-fil-A was at the top of the list for student preference, school administrators overruled the vote, citing their perception that the company was opposed to the “LGBTQ community.” University officials explained in an e-mail to students that they felt Chick-fil-A’s “corporate values have not sufficiently progressed enough to align with those of Rider.”

In response, Cynthia Newman, who currently serves as the dean of Rider’s College of Business, announced that she would be resigning in August over the university’s ban of the fast-food restaurant.

"They put it on your forehead to show holiness," McLeod said of the ashes.

He was the only student in his class with an ash cross on his forehead.

No deal better than uncertainty, says head of German industry

The head of the German federation of industries has claimed the British are “lost” and has thrown doubt on Berlin’s backing for a short Brexit extension, claiming an “economy can live better with bad conditions than with uncertainty”.

Dieter Kempf, the chairman of the Bundesverbandes der Deutschen Industrie, said the 100,000 companies he represents and their 8 million employees have prepared for a no-deal scenario in March, not in May.

Speaking in the wake of the British prime minister’s suggestion that the UK could request a two-month Brexit delay, Kempf told the Dutch newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad that he felt no relief at the apparent U-turn by Theresa May.

Wi-Fi in Schools: Experimenting With the Next Generation

The internet has unleashed human knowledge. Never before has it been so easy to learn so much. Of course, it has also drowned us in distraction and created a breeding ground for trolls and misinformation, but if the internet is redeemed by anything, it is its liberation of education.

When it comes to accessing this ocean of information, we have two basic choices: wired or Wi-Fi. The vast majority of schools have embraced the wireless revolution. It’s easy to see why. Compared to wired internet, wireless is simpler, cheaper, and faster for schools to install.

Today, students are trading notebooks and textbooks for laptops, cellphones, iPads, and all manner of “smart” devices connected to a potent wireless infrastructure that lets them be used virtually anywhere on school grounds.

But that wireless web comes with a devastating downside. Doctors and scientists say that the students and teachers who attend these schools are risking their health.

Cops are accused of child 'torture' after footage emerges of officers shoving and screaming at kids as part of a prison-inspired program to scare them into not committing crimes

Footage has emerged of South Carolina sheriff's deputies violently shoving children and screaming in their faces as part of a prison-inspired disciplinary program for troubled youth.

The video, which was shot by the Charlotte Observer, shows children and teenagers being disciplined by officers from the Chester County Sheriff's Office.

The program, called Project STORM, is aimed at high-risk youth and involves parents sending their children to prison for a weekend to teach them a lesson.

While the program has been running for several years, some psychologists have slammed the recent footage saying the treatment the youth are subjected to is child abuse.

The children who participate in the program - some as young as eight - are handcuffed and treated like real criminals in an attempt to help curb unruly behavior

Webmaster's Commentary:

What really bothers me about this program, is the belief by both parents and police, apparently, that the only thing that will turn a child around is absolute, wiled-eyed, heart-pounding fear, and being treated roughly.

And my question is, why do incidents like these kids have done, never seem to happen in the private sector?!? Is it because they are engaged by teachers who diagnose and reached out to at the level of understanding they have achieved, and work from there?!? I know that here in the Islands, the Kumon Schools have an excellent reputation for turning kids' behaviour- and school work- around?!?

When I see families succeed, I see environments where kids are given structure, love, and a "you can do it" attitude. My brother and sister-in-law have two wonderful daughters, and this is what they were raised with, and came out quite well.

The greatest killer of education, and future potential, universally, is low expectations of a child, and that is a really horrible thing to do.

Senate investigators warn of Chinese state-run centers at more than 100 U.S. colleges

Senate investigators are warning that China has opened government-run centers at more than 100 American college campuses, pouring over $158 million into Confucius Institutes that spread Chinese influence while going largely unmonitored by the U.S. government.

China’s government “controls nearly every aspect” of the institutes, including the funding, staffing and programming, according to a new, bipartisan report from the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Their proliferation has also prompted espionage concerns and attracted significant interest from the FBI, including from its Counterintelligence Division.

The warning comes amid heightened concern about whether China’s growing global footprint, propelled by massive investments in everything from foreign roads and ports to 5G wireless technology, pose a security and counterespionage risk to the United States and other countries.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Meanwhile, all those pro-Israel centers on campuses go ignored.

Ralph Northam's Wife Schools Black Kids On Slavery Using Raw Cotton

Virginia's first lady Pam Northam has come under fire after handing raw cotton to two black eighth-graders during a tour of the Governor's mansion, and suggested the students imagine what it was like under slavery to pick said cotton, according to the Washington Post. One of the students was the daughter of a Virginia state employee.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What in the name of Heaven is wrong with this woman?!?

Is she so completely deaf, dumb, and blind, to how this was going to make these kids feel?!?

These kids know their history a lot better than she does, that is for certain.

But the lessons these kids need to learn, are the new skill sets necessary for getting a really good job today; and imagining picking cotton, is NOT one of those skills.

Debt Crisis: ‘Alarm Bells Are Going Off’ As Americans Default On Student Loans At Record Levels

Americans who took out loans to pay for a college education are defaulting on those debts at record levels. The country has never been as indebted with student loans as it is now, and the problem continues to spiral out of control.

In just the third and fourth quarters of last year, there were around $166.4 billion in student loan delinquencies that have been in default for 90 days or more, according to the Federal Reserve, the United States’ central bank. Steve Beaman, a financial analyst for the Florida Radio Network, the chairman of the McGraw Council, and the author of The Path to Prosperity said this is horrible news for the economy. “The alarms bells are going off,” Beaman said. “If we don’t do something about it quickly, it could possibly have a negative effect on the U.S. economy, hurt people’s economic life and have an adverse reaction to their credit score,” Beaman said.

U.S. Student-Loan Delinquencies Hit Record

Delinquent U.S. student loans reached a record $166 billion in the fourth quarter. But since “delinquency rates for student loans are likely to understate effective delinquency rates” by about half, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the figure is probably a far cry from reality. Factoring for understatement would imply that about $333 billion in student debt has not been serviced in at least three months. Putting this into perspective, $441 billion had been disbursed under Treasury’s entire Troubled Asset Relief Program to provide financial stability during the recession.

Outrage as kids pick cotton, sing slave songs during school field trip (VIDEO)

Disturbing cell phone video has appeared online apparently showing a class of 10-year-old South Carolina elementary school kids picking cotton and singing slave songs as their teachers supervise.

The cell phone video was reportedly taken by one of the teachers and sent to parents of fifth graders from Ebenezer Avenue Elementary in Rock Hill, South Carolina this week. “I like it when you don’t talk back, make money for me,” the children can be heard singing in the videos.

“I’m livid right now,” parent Jessica Blanchard told Fox 46 after the video emerged. “I’m African-American and my ancestors picked cotton. Why would I want my son to pick cotton and think it’s fun?”

According to Blanchard and other parents, there was apparently no mention of picking cotton on the permission slip for the field trip.

Private School vs. Public School: Facts, Benefits & Statistics

When it comes to deciding whether to send children to private school vs public school, there are a few essential questions for parents to consider. It not simply about trusting public vs private school to educate your child in a way that prepares them for the future. The consideration is even more than simply thinking about the cost, although that’s unavoidable. It’s important to know if it’s worth it to pay for private school based on all the perks they claim to offer. And even cost becomes complicated with new tax rules laid out by the Devos-led Department of Education.

India's PM Modi warns Pakistan of strong response to Kashmir attack

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned Pakistan on Friday to expect a strong response to a suicide attack that killed 44 paramilitary policemen in Kashmir, ratcheting up tension between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

The car bomb attack on a security convoy on Thursday was the worst in decades of insurgency in the disputed region. India said it had “incontrovertible evidence” of Pakistani involvement, a statement quickly rejected by Islamabad.

“We will give a befitting reply, our neighbour will not be allowed to de-stabilise us,” Modi said in a speech, after meeting security advisers to discuss options.

The attack comes months before national elections in India.

The Pakistan-based Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed responsibility soon after a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden car into a bus carrying police personnel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Other reports from the region, seem to indicate that New Dehli is seriously thinking about starting an economic war against Pakistan, particularly if such attacks continue (and trust me, they will continue, unless and until, the Kashmiri people finally get their long-deserved referendum, to permanently determine its status).

'MORE THAN 40% OF PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT AUSCHWITZ..HOW CAN THAT BE?' ONE LOCALS REACTION TO A NEW BILL IN INDIANA

A new bill proposed by Senator Jon Ford requires students in 6th through 8th grade to study the Holocaust.

Mom sues NY school district for ejecting unvaccinated teens: School is ‘Asking me to go against everything I believe in’

New York mother Marina Williams has taken the Orchard Park School District to court after her two children were removed from class because their vaccines were not up to date. Although her children were granted a religious exemption when they attended West Seneca School District for some reason Orchard Park has denied it.

Williams said her religion prohibits putting foreign substances into the body (including drugs, alcohol, and vaccines) and that The Orchard Park school system is essentially asking her to go against her faith and everything she believes in.

Half of universities in England have fewer than 5% poor white students

More than half of universities in England have fewer than 5% of white working-class students in their intakes, according to researchers.

A report from the National Education Opportunity Network (Neon) found that white youngsters in receipt of free school meals were the least likely of any group to study at university after those from Traveller backgrounds.

White students make up the majority of people living in areas where university attendance is lowest and those who do attend are more likely to enrol at less prestigious post-1992 universities.

Incarceration vs. education: America spends more on its prison system than it does on public schools – and California is the worst

The U.S. spends more on prisons and jails than it does on educating children – and 15 states spend at least $27,000 more per prisoner than they do per student, according to a new report.

Americans account for 4.4 percent of the global population, but 22 percent of the world’s prison population.

California spends $8.6 billion a year on its prison system, more than any other state, averaging $64,642 per inmate. It’s also the state with the biggest gap between education and prison spending, paying just $11,495 per student for a difference of $53,146, according to a new analysis by personal finance site GoBankingRates.

Georgetown students could be forced to pay reparations fees for slaves the university sold nearly 200 years ago

Students at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., may find themselves paying reparations for the slaves that were sold by the Catholic institution in the 1830s, the College Fix reported.

The student Senate recently authorized a campuswide referendum to vote on whether or not to create a fund that would benefit the descendants of the 272 men, women, and children who were sold in 1838 to pay off the school's debts. The vote was approved 20-4.

Women sue Yale to gender-integrate fraternities

Three undergraduate students are suing Yale University and fraternities at the university to force the fraternities to “gender-integrate.”

The suit’s plaintiffs, students Anna McNeil, Eliana Singer and Ry Walker, “believed that the most direct route to prevent sexual harassment and assault—and to challenge the gender disparities in social clout and economic opportunity perpetuated by fraternities—was to integrate Yale’s fraternities by gender,” according to the suit’s complaint, which was published in-full by The New York Times.

All three women said in court that they were groped at fraternity parties their first semester at Yale and know many other women and gender-nonbinary students who were sexually harassed and assaulted at fraternity parties and by fraternity members.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Oh yeah, so let's have the women actually move into the fraternities. THAT will solve the problem!

And if the fraternities are forced to gender integrate, so should the sororities!

Donald Trump Jr. is slammed by educators for claiming 'loser teachers' indoctrinate American children with 'socialism from birth'

Donald Trump Jr has been slammed on social media after claiming 'loser teachers' are brainwashing young Americans 'from birth' with socialism.

The president's eldest son spoke to a crowd of Trump supporters at a rally in El Paso, Texas on Monday night, encouraging young conservatives to 'keep up' the fight against leftist policies at their schools.

'Keep up that fight, bring it to your schools. You don't have to be indoctrinated by these loser teachers that are trying to sell you on socialism from birth. You don't have to do it,' Trump Jr said drawing cheers and applause from the crowd.

Substitute teacher resigns after telling class of mostly black students that 'Martin Luther King Jr killed himself' and that 'real Christians support Trump'

A North Carolina substitute teacher has resigned after she was accused of telling the class that the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr committed suicide and was not assassinated, and that real Christians supported President Trump.

Nathan Byrd, a 10-year-old student at Rand Road Elementary School, who is black, told his father that the teacher also told him and others that their clothing indicated they were 'marked for prison'.

Billy Byrd, the father, said the teacher told the students they weren't real Christians if they didn't support Trump, The News & Observer of Raleigh reported.

King was shot and killed as he stood on the balcony of a Memphis, Tennessee motel on April 4, 1968.

Bill Gates Admits His Common Core Experiment Is A Failure

After spending $400 million on forcing schools around the country to adopt Common Core, Bill Gates has finally admitted that the controversial teaching method is a failure, and significantly less effective than traditional teaching methods.

Parents and teachers across the nation have been urging schools to dump the toxic Common Core curriculum, arguing that it deliberately dumbs down children and creates unnecessary and complicated methods for working out relatively simple problems.

The Gates Foundation has spent more than $400 million itself and influenced a staggering $4 trillion in U.S. taxpayer funds towards making Common Core the mandatory curriculum across the country. Eight years later, however, and after a huge wave of disapproval, Bill Gates is finally admitting that his and Barack Obama’s baby, Common Core, is a failure.

Yale Newspaper Publishes Guide To Destroying "White Boy" Lives Using "Stasi Tactics"

At the Yale Daily News, East Germany had nothing on the paper's opinion editor, Isis Davis-Marks.

The Nazi SS had nothing. The Castroite Cuban turbas had nothing. Mao's cultural revolution had nothing.

Here's what Davis-Marks has in mind for Yale college kids:

Everyone knows a white boy with shiny brown hair and a saccharine smile that conceals his great ambitions. He could be in Grand Strategy or the Yale Political Union. Maybe he's the editor-in-chief of the News. He takes his classes. He networks. And, when it comes time for graduation, he wins all the awards.

One day, I'll turn on the television — or, who knows, maybe televisions will be obsolete by this point — and I'll see him sitting down for his Senate confirmation hearing. Yes, he'll be a bit older, with tiny wrinkles sprouting at the corners of his eyes and a couple of gray hairs jutting out of the top of his widow's peak. But that smile, that characteristic saccharine smile, will remain the same.

Trump backs push for Bible classes in schools

President Trump appeared to endorse efforts by legislators in several states to allow public schools to offer Bible classes.

"Numerous states introducing Bible Literacy classes, giving students the option of studying the Bible. Starting to make a turn back? Great!" Mr. Trump tweeted Monday morning after "Fox and Friends" ran a segment on the topic.

Christian lawmakers in six Republican-controlled state legislatures across the country are pushing for legislation that would allow public schools to offer elective classes on the New and Old Testaments.

Israel Lobby Fakes Campus Anti-Semitism Say US Journalists

Details of how pro-Israeli lobby groups have fabricated accusations of anti-Semitism on US college campuses in order to incite official crackdowns against Palestine solidarity activism were revealed earlier in the week during a political talk show hosted by prominent American journalist Chris Hedges. The author and a visiting Princeton university lecturer discussed the Israeli lobby with co-founder of the Electronic Intifada, Ali Abunimah and journalist Max Blumenthal, on his talk show “On Contact”.

Discussing the Al Jazeera documentary on the workings of the Israeli lobby, the journalists described what they said was a “false crises” created by a network of pro-Israeli lobby groups working with Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs and Israeli embassies “to lay a factual basis to make federal civil rights complaints or lawsuits that can then be used to force university administrations to muzzle students and teachers.”

Homeschoolers: Guilty Until Proven Innocent?

By Kerry McDonald

My eight-year-old daughter and I recently read about the Salem Witch Trials. She had heard about Salem from a friend who visited the nearby town during its popular Halloween festivities, and she was curious about the witches. We went to the library to get some books on the topic of how 20 innocent people were put to death for “witchcraft” in 1692, with scores more accused and jailed...

I wanted to tell my daughter that we’re so much better now than those Puritans, that “innocent until proven guilty” now prevails. But I’m honestly not so sure...

5 Ways to Teach Liberty to Young Children

By Nancy Littlefield

If you believe that liberty is important for the future, you probably wonder how today’s kids are learning about it. You might quiz young children in your life to determine what they know. You could scan their social studies texts to see how liberty is described. Ultimately, you will probably decide you should instruct them about liberty yourself. But how?

Elementary and middle school-aged children are not developmentally ready to debate the border wall, the minimum wage, or the war on drugs. Much of the discussion about liberty that engages adults would confuse or even distress young children. When it concerns liberty, what is appropriate to teach young children? How can it be explained? Can learning about liberty be engaging for five- to twelve-year-olds? As a parent and teacher, these are the questions I pondered...

Palestinian Professors’ Unions Urge Pitzer College to Uphold Faculty Vote to Suspend Study Abroad with Complicit Israeli Institutions

The Palestinian Federation of Unions of University Professors and Employees (PFUUPE) supports the faculty at Pitzer College calling to suspend a complicit study abroad program in Israel over its discriminatory practices.

PFUUPE, which represents more than 6,000 Palestinian university staff at 13 higher education institutions in the occupied Palestinian territory, commends our colleagues at Pitzer College for overwhelmingly supporting this principled stand for Palestinian human rights and for equality.

Most importantly, we thank you for listening to us and acting upon the call from the vast majority of Palestinians, including academics and students, to refrain from business-as-usual academic relations with Israeli institutions while we are forced to live under oppression.

We hold dear the universal right to academic freedom, on principle and because Palestinians are obliged to fight for it every day, along with our right to education.

Universities need banking-style commission, says Aussie business leader

After the incredible and frankly criminal revelations that have come out of the recent royal commission into the banking industry, it’s high time we ran a similarly shrewd microscope over another huge industry that’s fleecing people out of their cash — the tertiary education system.

It’s unbelievable that thousands of people walk into our universities every year prepared to hand over what adds up to billions of dollars to receive training that’s supposed to help them land a job — but receive absolutely no guarantees that they’ll ever actually get one.

What other business would get away with that? A degree can cost as much as AU$40,000; imagine paying that much for a car, waiting four years for it to be delivered and then finding out you’ve only got a 50-50 chance that it will start?

THIS APP WANTS TO TRACK EVERY HOMELESS PERSON IN SAN FRANCISCO

On paper, it looks as if San Francisco shouldn’t have a homelessness problem. There are as many permanent housing beds as people who need them. The city spends hundreds of millions of dollars to help get people off the streets, and last year voters approved a measure to raise $300 million annually to tackle the issue by taxing local companies. Yet there are about 7,500 homeless in the city because of soaring rents and the difficulty of treating substance abuse, mental illness, and other health concerns.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that the City of San Francisco is, collectively, very myopic, in its drive to assess the symptoms of homelessness, rather than the root cause.

Boys left to fail at school because attempts to help them earn wrath of feminists, says ex-Ucas chief

Britain’s education system is failing to tackle the “astonishing” underperformance of boys as feminists have made the topic “taboo”, the former head of the university admissions service has warned.

Mary Curnock Cook, who was chief executive of Ucas until last year, said the fact that boys are falling behind in education is a national scandal – yet it is such an “unfashionable” topic to discuss that it has become “normalised”.

Girls outperform boys in all aspects of education, from primary school to GCSEs and A-level results. Last year, 57 per cent of women went to university compared to 43 per cent of men, a gap that has widened significantly over the last decade.

“I just find it unacceptable to think that it’s OK to let boys fall further and further behind in education and allow the gap to get bigger,” Ms Curnock Cook said.

Erik Prince Denies Knowledge Of Blackwater-Type Training Base In China

A Hong Kong-Based training company launched by Blackwater founder Erik Prince is reportedly building a training center in the controversial Western Chinese region of Xinjiang according to Reuters, citing a company statement from Prince's Frontier Services Group (FSG).

While the exact details of the $600,000 (4 million yuan) project weren't disclosed, a state media report said that the facility will be able to train 8,000 people a year.

Despite being the founder, Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of FSG, Prince says he had "no knowledge or involvement" in the preliminary memorandum for the base, according to Reuters.

A Hong Kong-based spokesman for FSG told Reuters on Friday that the statement was “published in error by a staff member in Beijing” and had been taken off FSG’s website.

The removed statement had said that FSG signed a deal with the Kashgar Caohu industrial park in Tumxuk city in southern Xinjiang to build a training center.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With Erik Prince denying that he is developing a training facility in China, it probably means that he is doing just that.

The Ruling Class & An Undeclared Civil War

There is at present an undeclared and non-violent civil war being waged in this country. The underlying factor of any civil war is an elite ruling class desperate to maintain power at odds with a majority of a population seeking change. Also prevalent in most civil upheavals is the unleashing, by those determined to retain power, of the radicalized and ultimately uncontrollable dogs of war who more often than not devour their sponsors. Both elements are currently in play.

While the ruling class publicly obsesses over Donald Trump and denigrates the vast majority of the population, they have planted the seeds, by their actions, for a takeover of the country by a radical element that will turn on them as they are presently doing within the Democratic Party.

Proposed Law to Allow Armed Police Inside Baltimore Schools Fails

The Fraternal Order of Police argued that there has never been a study that showed having armed police in schools makes the school more dangerous. They argued the opposite. Their theory is that by allowing police to carry their firearms inside school grounds it makes the schools safer. Their arguments fall on deaf ears when it comes to the school board. -- Baltimore is the only school district in Maryland that prevents law enforcement officers from carrying their sidearms.

Florida Gov. DeSantis signs executive order scrapping Common Core

In another reversal of former Florida Gov. Rick Scott's policies, Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered an end to Common Core-type educational standards in the state.

DeSantis’ executive order directs Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran to develop a road map for a new way to educate the Sunshine State’s students.

Florida moved to a Common Core-type system under Scott, a change aimed at matching standards for other students in the U.S.

State leaders made some tweaks to Common Core, and re-branded it as ‘Florida Standards’ but they remain very similar to Common Core.

State governors - not the federal government - developed Common Core and former Gov. Jeb Bush did everything he could to sell it as "fewer, higher expectations, critical thinking skills, benchmarked to the best in the world."

The Pro-Israel Push to Purge US Campus Critics

There are signs that we’ve reached a tipping point in US public recognition of Israel’s suppression of the rights of Palestinians as a legitimate human rights concern. Increasingly, students on campuses across the country are calling on their universities to divest from companies that do business in Israel. Newly elected members of Congress are saying what was once unsayable: that perhaps the US should question its unqualified diplomatic and financial support for Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East, and hold it to the same human rights scrutiny we apply to other nations around the globe. Global companies such as Airbnb have recognized that their business practices must reflect international condemnation of the illegality of Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Natalie Portman, Lorde, and other celebrities have declined appearances in Israel, acknowledging the call to boycott the Israeli government on account of its human rights violations.

Stacey Abrams: Georgia Democrat to respond to Trump State of the Union

Stacey Abrams, a Democrat who narrowly lost the Georgia governor race in 2018, is set to respond to President Donald Trump's State of the Union speech.

She will deliver a televised rebuttal after Mr Trump's joint address to Congress on 5 February. His speech was delayed due to the government shutdown.

The opposition party traditionally responds to the president's annual message directly after the speech.

The Democratic rising star tweeted on Tuesday she was "honoured".

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is certainly an interesting choice, perhaps even brilliant in its trajectory on the part of the Democrats. She is bright, gifted in many ways, and a trail blazer, and I respect that greatly.

Having said that, however, I hope that she will really take notice of the truth in her rebuttal, about what President Trump promised he would do for this country, which he has not yet done, and where he may have lead this country astray, such as the US withdrawal from the P5+1 deal with Iran.

I also hope that there is a statistician in her camp, who can help her talk about the real unemployment numbers, as opposed to those from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which are consistently a compendium of lies, because of how those "unemployed" are counted.

Ms. Abrams, I have just given you a gift; please run with it.
