Israeli lawmaker’s call for genocide of Palestinians gets thousands of Facebook likes

A day before Palestinian teenager Muhammad Abu Khudair was kidnapped and burned alive allegedly by six Israeli Jewish youths, Israeli lawmaker Ayelet Shaked published on Facebook a call for genocide of the Palestinians.

It is a call for genocide because it declares that “the entire Palestinian people is the enemy” and justifies its destruction, “including its elderly and its women, its cities and its villages, its property and its infrastructure.”

It is a call for genocide because it calls for the slaughter of Palestinian mothers who give birth to “little snakes.”

If Shaked’s post does not meet the legal definition of a call for genocide then nothing does.

Liquor Up Those S.O.B.s: NFL Stars Savor The Stolen Wine Of Palestine

Seven American football players landed in Tel Aviv this week before being whisked away for propaganda purposes to “Greater Israel,” that is to say the occupied West Bank and the occupied Golan Heights. A trip to occupied East Jerusalem is scheduled for later in the visit.

A similar effort last February backfired with National Football League players such as brothers Martellus and Michael Bennett speaking out against being used.

Michael Bennett tweeted that he would “not be used in such a manner” and that when he did visit the region it would be not only to see Israel, but the West Bank and Gaza “so I can see how the Palestinians, who have called this land home for thousands of years, live their lives.”

This year, however, organizer America’s Voices in Israel kept the tour under wraps until the group landed.

The Slap Heard Round The World: Chile Protests Israeli Incarceration Of Ahed Al-Tamimi

Chile Protests Israeli Incarceration of Palestinian Teenager Ahed Al-Tamimi
***
"The government of Chile has expressed to the Embassy of Israel in Chile its enormous concern over the case of the Palestinian citizen, Ahed al-Tamimi, a minor of 17 years of age, who is being detained and tried by an Israeli military court on the charge of incitement to violence,” a Chilean government statement said on Friday

"In view of this unfortunate situation affecting a minor, the Chilean government reiterated to the Diplomatic Representation of Israel the need for the rights of the Palestinian minor to be fully observed, with the guarantees of a due process and to be adequately weighed by the judicial authority the circumstances and area of tension in which the events that gave rise to this investigation took place, it added.

Washington no more: Palestine turns to Moscow for future Israel talks

It is no secret that Palestinian trust in Washington as an impartial broker and mediator in future peace talks with Israel has been shredded.

And given the Trump administration’s reckless, not to mention illegal, decision to declare Washington’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in December 2017, who can blame them?

This historic rupture with Washington on the part of the Palestinian Authority was articulated by President Mahmoud Abbas, at the start of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

Emboldened by Trump, Israel tightens grip on Jerusalem

Israel has started work on a major new settlement project in occupied East Jerusalem.

The construction of a center for Jewish religious studies began in Jerusalem’s Old City late Tuesday evening, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR).

The center is a short distance from the al-Aqsa mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites.

PCHR stated that the project is in direct violation of Palestinians’ rights to Jerusalem, and that it “would seriously distort and change the city’s historical characteristics.”

It is part of plans to erase Palestinian culture, reinvent Jerusalem’s history according to a Zionist narrative and push Palestinians out of the city.

The project is taking place at the same time that Israeli authorities are installing a military checkpoint at Damascus Gate, an entrance to the Old City widely used by Palestinians.

The Jewish timeline – from Moses to Netanyahu

"If Zionism was born to teach the Jews how to self-reflect so they could become a “people like all other people”, Netanyahu, Israel and contemporary Zionists are the proof that the Zionist project was futile. As the Jewish state surrounds itself with ever more walls of separation, as the Zionist lobbies and Zio-cons push for more global conflicts for Israel, it becomes clear that Zionists are actually a people like no other – people who can’t self-reflect or bear responsibility for their own actions." >>

Israel’s Justice Minister endorses apartheid — the Jewish state ‘at the expense of equality’

Ayelet Shaked, the Israeli justice minister has done it again: She has spelled out Israeli Apartheid in unequivocal terms, and tied it directly to Zionism:

“There is place to maintain a Jewish majority even at the price of violation of rights.”

she said yesterday (Monday) at the Congress on Judaism and Democracy, as reported by Haaretz.

Shaked was speaking about Israel’s “Nation State of the Jewish People” bill, and made it clear that equality was essentially anathema to the “Jewish State”:

On the coalition’s intent to keep the word “equality” out of the nation-state bill, Shaked said that

“Israel is a Jewish state. It isn’t a state of all its nations. That is, equal rights to all citizens but not equal national rights.”

“I really judge a people and a country by the way they treat the LGBT community, I just have to say Ireland has done such a good job when it comes to these issues... There’s other countries around the world, in fact I’ll be in Israel, who have done a wonderful job in the face of civil rights.” Caitlyn went on to say that if you’re LGBT in countries that are not like Israel, “they’ll hang you; it’s an amazing thing.”

House Democrats urge Trump to back aid for Palestinian refugees

The letter additionally backs “bilateral assistance” to the Palestinians, though in fact funds given to the Palestinian Authority are used disproportionately on internal suppression in collaboration with Israel.

Even protests against Israeli occupation and Israel’s deadly assaults on Gaza are frequently deemed unacceptable by the PA.

They argue that Israeli repression of Palestinians, however, brutal and criminal, , can not be compared to the level of genocidal crimes perpetrated by some neighboring Arab regimes against their own masses as in Syria.

Gaza hospitals shut down as deadly siege tightens

Emergency generators have run out of fuel in at least 19 health facilities in the Gaza Strip as Israel’s deadly decade-old siege on the territory tightens.

I often say that only hope left in Gaza is the young generation which we need to invest in to build up a better future for Gaza and for the region. The overall situation in Gaza is devastating which has demoralised me personally a lot. However, I often get energized when watching those kids in Gaza still smiling despite the harsh realities.

Revising History

Clara: You are quoted as saying: “I think that Israel is far worse than Nazi Germany”.

Gilad: My comparison between Israel and Nazi Germany was limited to a discussion on collective accountability in democratic vs. authoritarian regimes. I argued that since Israel defines itself as the ‘only democracy in the Middle East’ its barbarian policies reflect on the Israeli society as a whole, something that can’t be said about Nazi Germany. Once democracy is abolished, collective accountability is removed!

Clara: Obviously literature dealing with the question ‘what is it in German history that has led Germans into two disasters in the 20th century?’ could fill a lot of library shelves.

Palestinian President: US Killed Oslo Accords with Al-Quds Move

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stressed that that the US move to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel's capital killed the Oslo Accords. According to Channel 10 news on Saturday, Abbas made the remarks during a meeting with Israel's Meretz political party leader Zehava Galon, as he was shocked by the decision, telling Galon that US President Donald Trump had “promised a good deal to [resolve] the conflict, and then came this unfortunate surprise, which we cannot accept.” "We are prepared for negotiations, and we never intended to leave the talks, but regrettably no one is offering us talks, especially not the Americans, who now wish to punish us,” he said. Abbas added that Washington can no longer play the role of mediator in peace talks after its al-Quds move. "The Oslo Accords are dead, and even though Israel has not lived up to its obligations, we have so far not halted security cooperation.

Mike Pence’s Middle East Tour: Outright Pressure and Threats as Foreign Policy Tools

Washington is pushing a plan pretty vague about details and is doing it without its Middle East strategy defined.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II wants Washington to “rebuild trust “after US President Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The king believes that East Jerusalem must be the capital of Palestine. According to him, from now on the US has a “major challenge to overcome”.

“Friends occasionally have disagreements,” Mike Pence said ruefully in his comments on the outcome of the talks. The disagreement came into the open.

Trump: No More Palestinian Aid Unless They Accept Peace Talks

Going off the script in remarks to the press Thursday in Davos, President Trump announced that the US will no longer provide any monetary aid to the Palestinians in any form, unless the Palestinian leadership agrees to enter peace talks with Israel.

Though there was no sign peace talks were about to resume at any rate, President Trump’s declaration that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital led Palestinian leadership to reject the idea of any US-mediated talks being possible.

Trump, however, is presenting the Jerusalem declaration as making things simpler, in that Jerusalem is now “off the table,” and that reduced the amount of important issues yet to be resolved.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please: this... is not "the art of the deal"; this ...is blackmail, particularly against Palestinian children and infants who so desperately need basic food and medicines just to survive.

John Kerry Tells Palestinian Leaders to Ignore President Trump

The Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv is reporting that John Kerry, the former presidential candidate and secretary of state under Obama, is actively undermining President Trump’s authority by speaking to leaders within the Palestinian Authority and telling them to disregard Trump’s recent move.

The Jerusalem Post reports,

While the White House confirms that since the “Jerusalem Declaration” there has been a complete disconnect between the Palestinian Authority and the Trump administration, it turns out that the previous administration actually maintains contact with PA officials. Ma’ariv reported that former US Secretary of State John Kerry met in London with a close associate of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Hussein Agha, for a long and open conversation about a variety of topics.
One of these topics, reportedly, was the recent decision by the U.S. to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The Jerusalem Post story continues:

Webmaster's Commentary:

"According to Kerry, Trump will not remain in office for a long time. It was reported that within a year there was a good chance that Trump would not be in the White House."

Negotiate or lose ‘hundreds of millions’ in aid, Trump tells ‘disrespectful’ Palestinians

US President Donald Trump has warned Palestinians they will miss out on US aid if they don’t sit down and hold talks with Israel, after they snubbed the visit from Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump voices his threat during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

“When they disrespected us a week ago by not allowing our great vice president to see them, and we give them hundreds of millions of dollars in aid and support, tremendous numbers, numbers that nobody understands – that money is on the table and that money is not going to them unless they sit down and negotiate peace," Trump said.

“And they [Palestinians] are going to have to want to make peace too, or we’re going to have nothing to do with it any longer,” he added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

... ignoring that Trump created this mess by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
