'Get rid of it!' MASSIVE 96% of Express readers want House of Lords ABOLISHED

More than 2,700 readers have voted in the Express.co.uk poll as of 10.40pm, with almost all backing a move to for the upper house of UK parliament to be abolished.

And just four percent of readers polled said they wanted to keep the House of Lords which this week has threatened to derail Brexit.

One Express.co.uk reader said: “Let’s have a referendum on abolishing the House of Lords now.”

Another added: “It’s time for this den of unelected parasites (the Lords) to go.

“They have always served their own greed.”

A petition calling for the House of Lords to be scrapped and replaced with a new elected body hit 100,000 votes earlier this year potentially triggering a Commons debate.

The Economy Is Cooked

Of course, those paying attention to the data already knew this. Our politicians and central planers have been peddling to us the fantasy that the global economy is strengthening, finally ready to fire on all cylinders after nearly ten years of dependence on monetary stimulus. That just ain't so.

IfNotNow ups pressure on Schumer to end silence on Israeli killings of unarmed protesters

Last night the young renegade Jewish group IfNotNow demonstrated outside Senator Chuck Schumer’s office, saying that his silence on the killings of Palestinian protesters as a Jewish political leader was licensing Israel to kill more Palestinians.

“How many more Palestinians must die?” they challenged Schumer, before he makes a statement. “It is life and death, Senator Schumer,” one demonstrator said. Asked another: “Is Palestinian freedom less important than our freedom?”

Four days ago seven members of the group were arrested outside Schumer’s office, making the same demand. And in all there have been 37 arrests of IfNotNow demonstrators since they began protests of Israel’s killings of unarmed Palestinians nearly 3 weeks ago.

Mass Shootings May Be Linked To Psychotropic Drug Use

Zoloft, Lexapro and Prozac have all become household names, generating billions of dollars each year for the pharmaceutical companies that produce them. But why will no one talk about the effect they are they having on the nation’s psychology?

“Why does it always seem that the shooter in these type of mass killings has been on some sort of psychotropic drugs?” asks former Texas Congressman Ron Paul. “Why is it no one is questioning these medications? All of which come with labels warning of horrific side effects. Perhaps one reason they are ignored is that the pharmaceutical industry spends billions each year lobbying congress.”

Mania, suicidal thoughts and dangerous impulses are all common side effects of these medications. With one in six Americans taking these mind-altering drugs, the link between medication and the rise of abhorrent behavior in our nation has yet to be properly investigated.

How James Clapper laid bare to Trump prostitute tale in debunked dossier

The briefing had far-reaching ramifications. Leaked to CNN, the session became fodder to legitimize the dossier as a credible news story since Mr. Comey warned the president the gossip about him and prostitutes in Moscow in 2013 came right from the Kremlin.

Today, Republicans charge that it was Mr. Clapper, then Director of National Intelligence, who leaked the story to CNN. He works for CNN as an on-air analyst and is one of the president’s most strident critics. He has likened Mr. Trump to an agent of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Why Each US President Ends Up As Ruthless Interventionist These Days

In the wake of last week’s cruise missile attack on Syria, there was a joke going around the internet saying that it doesn’t matter who Americans vote for, they always wind up getting John McCain as President of the United States. The humor derives from the fact that the past three presidents all ran for office committed to reducing America’s interventionism overseas but once in office they reversed course and expanded US military commitments worldwide, turning them into facsimiles of John McCain, who has never seen a war he didn’t like.

Gov. Hickenlooper on making pot illegal again if tied to crime: 'I'm not ruling it out'

Trump comes out for legal pot and now the dems want to make it illegal again.
If they have an increased crime rate it is most likely due to illegal aliens.
The legal pot business in Oregon and Washington use illegal aliens in preference to Americans because they pay them a much lower wage and require Spanish to hold many of the jobs in the industry.

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper was against legalizing marijuana, but once the voters spoke, he went along and defended Coloradans' right to use recreational pot.

In an interview with CNN, he appears to be opening the door a crack to the idea of re-criminalizing cannabis.

THINK FOR YOURSELF AND QUESTION EVERYTHING! : Fake media is coming for our memories...

Let’s put this all together. False memories fester when they make sense to our political worldview, when it’s familiar and repeated ad nauseam, when we trust the source of the information, and when this information is corroborated, shared, and discussed by like-minded people. Where else do all these things happen? Social media. Fake stories tend to move more quickly to people on these platforms than the truth, fueled by surprise and bias.

Warfare: Where It’s Been And Where It’s Going

“War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.” – Cormac McCarthy

It doesn’t take a biologist to see that mother nature has cruel and violent tendencies. Consider some of the fiercest competitors in the animal kingdom, such as apes, crocodiles, bears, snakes, hippos and many others. These creatures’ natural instincts are to resort to violence when it comes to the pursuit of power, territory and resources. Humans are playing the same game but on a much higher level.

Justice Department Investigating Comey’s Leak of Classified Information

Last night, after the Justice Department OK’d the release of Comey’s memos detailing his interactions with Trump, a few of those memos leaked to the public.

Of the many revelations from those memos was the possibility that Comey actually tried to set Trump up in order for the media to report on the infamous “pee” dossier.

But now it looks like Comey could be in big trouble. With the release of the memos comes the news that Comey actually leaked classified information last year. Trump pointed out as much just days ago:

George Soros may close his NGO’s Budapest office amid ‘political hostility’ – report

George Soros' Open Society Foundations (OSF) may close their office in Budapest and move Eastern European operations to Germany, due to the “political hostility” it faces in Hungary, Austria’s Die Presse newspaper reported.

The office may shut down, reportedly, by the end of August and then move to Berlin or to Vienna. The report came a week and a half after Hungarian parliamentary elections, in which the conservative, anti-immigrant Fidesz party, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, secured a decisive victory.

In a press release on Thursday night, the Open Society Foundations neither confirmed nor denied the report, saying that it is “closely monitoring the situation” but emphasizing that, in any case, it will “remain committed to Hungary.”

Maltese politicians face pressure over $1.6m paid to offshore firms

Two leading Maltese politicians are facing mounting pressure amid revelations that $1.6m was paid to an anonymous Dubai company identified as one of two “target clients” of their own offshore companies in Panama.

The allegations concern the tourism minister, Konrad Mizzi, and the prime minister’s chief of staff, Keith Schembri, both beneficial owners of offshore firms in Panama set up to exploit an array of business opportunities.

Although no deals or payments between the Dubai company and Panama companies ever took place, a newly discovered email in the Panama Papers reveals there was a plan for a pair of Dubai entities to be “main target clients” of Schembri and Mizzi’s Panama firms.

Furthermore, new research by the Daphne Project suggests the Dubai firms received unexplained payments of $1.6m. The transfers are detailed within a 120-page draft report by the Maltese financial intelligence unit seen by the Guardian.

Did James Comey Try To Set Trump Up on Salacious Dossier?

We called it.

Last night, here at The Political Insider, we reported that the fabled memos of former FBI Director James Comey outlining his discussions and meetings with President Trump would be released to Congress. In the piece, we noted that you shouldn’t “count on the substance of the memos to remain a secret from the public for very long either.”

Just like clockwork, some of the memos were leaked last night, revealing Comey’s deeply-held memories about his talks with President Trump. And we’re just learning that Comey may have revealed that President Trump was set up in one meeting in order to have the infamous Trump dossier, which documented Trump frequenting Russian prostitutes, reported in the press.

Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist reports:

Presenter Emily Maitlis continued: “So, you don’t sleep easy at night thinking ‘someone will contain him, there won’t be an impulsive gesture or an action?’”

To which Mr Comey replied: “I wake up some mornings and read the President is demanding the imprisonment of private citizens, occasionally me.

DOJ watchdog sends criminal referral for McCabe to federal prosecutor

The Justice Department’s internal watchdog has sent a criminal referral for fired FBI official Andrew McCabe to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington.

The move follows a recent DOJ inspector general report that found McCabe leaked a self-serving story to the press and later lied about it to then-Director James Comey and federal investigators, prompting Attorney General Jeff Sessions to fire him on March 16.

A source confirmed to Fox News that the referral was sent.

The Washington Post reported earlier that the IG referred the finding that McCabe misled investigators "some time ago," asking the top federal prosecutor for D.C. to examine whether he should be charged.

Wednesday’s criminal referral by 11 House Republicans of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as well as several former and serving top FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials is a giant step toward a Constitutional crisis.

Named in the referral to the DOJ for possible violations of federal law are: Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey; former Attorney General Loretta Lynch; former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe; FBI Agent Peter Strzok; FBI Counsel Lisa Page; and those DOJ and FBI personnel “connected to” work on the “Steele Dossier,” including former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates and former Acting Deputy Attorney General Dana Boente.

(1993) George H. W. Bush Attends Funeral For Waco ATF Agent, "this honorable man, killed by weird cultists"

In 1995, George H. W. Bush wrote an angry letter resigning from the NRA, stating, in part, "In 1993, I attended the wake for A.T.F. agent Steve Willis, another dedicated officer who did his duty. I can assure you that this honorable man, killed by weird cultists, was no Nazi... your broadside against Federal agents deeply offends my own sense of decency and honor; and it offends my concept of service to country. Hillary Clinton's popularity has plunged since election, poll finds

Hillary Clinton, well over a year after she lost the 2016 election to President Trump, is less popular than ever, according to a poll released this week.

Only 27 percent of those polled had a very or somewhat positive view of the former secretary of state, according to The Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

That makes her less popular than President Trump, whose popularity registered at 35 percent. It is a new low for her in the poll, which clocked her popularity at 30 percent in August 2017.

A Journal analysis of the poll notes that the poll is a reminder of “just how unusual” Clinton is in terms of her unpopularity -- even among recent losing presidential nominees who have typically experienced a post-election decline, but not to the extent Clinton has. At the time of the election, 40 percent had a positive view of her.

Steyer Endorses Feinstein’s Primary Challenger in California Senate Race

The widening chasm between progressive and establishment Democrats in California was exemplified this week by an endorsement from liberal billionaire and environmentalist Tom Steyer.

Steyer waded into California Senate race Wednesday to endorse Kevin de León, the primary challenger to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.), according to the Los Angeles Times.

The race between de León, seen as the most viable challenger, and the long-serving Feinstein has intensified in recent weeks. The two have openly sparred over universal health care and how California's elected officials should respond to President Donald Trump.

In his endorsement, the environmentalist billionaire applauded the 51-year-old de León as a strong progressive who emulated California, more so than the 84-year-old Feinstein.
