Russian Air Defenses Intercept Objects Targeting Hmeimim Base

Russia's military stated Tuesday that Russian air defenses at Hmeimim airbase in Syria had intercepted and destroyed several unidentified objects targeting the base.

An airbase spokesperson later confirmed that the base was operating normally, with no damages or casualties reported as a result of the attempted attack.

"On April 24 … the airspace monitoring facilities at Russia's Hmeimim airbase detected a group of small-size unidentified airborne targets approaching the base," the spokesperson said in a statement. "All targets were destroyed by air defense means deployed at the base."

According to South Front, the Russian Pantsir-S1 airbase systems shot down two drones armed with projectiles that had been launched by a militant group. It also reported that rockets were also intercepted. Other media reports indicate that two to four objects were destroyed in the air.

Israel vows to destroy Russia's S-300 in Syria in case of danger

Representatives of the Israeli Defence Ministry responded to recent reports about the possible delivery of S-300 SAM systems from Russia to Syria. Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that Israel would destroy those systems if Syria uses them against Israeli aircraft. The Israeli army will destroy Syrian S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems if they act against aircraft of the Israeli Air Force, Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman said in an interview with Ynetnews. "If these weapons are used against us, we will act against them. One thing must be clear: if someone shoots down our aircraft, we will destroy them," Lieberman said. "It is important for us that the defensive weapons that the Russians are transferring to Syria should not be used against us," Lieberman said. The minister added that Israel did not interfere in Syria's internal affairs.

Russia to deliver S-300 air defence systems to Syria for free

Russia is to start supplying S-300 air defence systems to Syria in the near future. The shipments will be conducted free of charge, the Kommersant newspaper wrote adding that Russia is determined to take a swift effort to create the echeloned air defence system for Syria. The question about the transfer of S-300 systems to Syria remains "mostly political" and has been practically resolved. Components of S-300 systems, including radar stations, transport vehicles, command posts and missile launchers, will be delivered to Syria by military transport aircraft or vessels of the Russian Navy. It is possible that Russia will deliver the systems that have already been used in the Russian Armed Forces. On April 14, the Western coalition fired 103 missiles on Syria, but Syrian air defence forces shot down 71 of those missiles.

Might Trump Ask Israel to Fund America’s Invasion-Occupation of Syria?

On 16 April 2018, the internationally respected analyst of Middle-Eastern affairs, Abdel Bari Atwan, headlined about Trump’s increasingly overt plan to break Syria up and to establish permanent U.S. control over the parts it wants, “Attempting the Unachievable”. He stated that

“The coming few months are likely to prove very difficult for the Americans, and very costly, not just in Syria but also in Iraq.”

He closed:

“Who will cover the costs of this American move? There are no prizes for guessing the answer: it has already been spelled out.”

The only country that his article mentioned was Israel:

“It would not be surprising if Israel and the various lobbies that support were behind this American strategic volte-face. For Israel is in a state of panic.”

I do not consider this enormous reversal of Israel — from recipient to donor — to be likely. Far likelier, in my view, is Saudi Arabia, to finance the invasion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think this analysis is the correct one, with the US tapping Saudi Arabia for the money to continue its invasion/occupation of Syria.

The question is, how long before there is a real, shooting war with Russia over Syria, which Syria invited into this country to get rid of the Western-backed Jihadis there?!?

Because from where I sit, is is a question of when, not if.

Atlantic: A Reckoning Will Come in Syria

And by “reckoning,” the Atlantic (4/14/18) appeared to mean “a war with Russia and its allies.”

Corporate media outlets were glad that the US, France and Britain bombed Syria in violation of international law (FAIR.org, 4/18/18), but lamented what they see as a dearth of US violence in the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is never the children of the monied elite presstitutes and warmongers whose kids will get killed, or maimed for life, in such wars; they always want it to be... other people's children, getting killed or maimed for life to preserve the US's economic, and geopolitical hegemony.

Israel wants Syria balkanized and Tehran regime changed; of course, only at the costs of American or Saudi blood and money; and whatever Israel wants, the editors of our non-esteemed manure spreaders, like the Washington Compost, want Israel to have, and want to make sure that the American people swallow such codswallop whole, and unquestioningly.

Americans can no longer tolerate our government doing this, because of the huge costs, geopolitically, and financially of enabling Israel toward its stated end of complete domination of the Middle East, and its oil.

In fact, the following article, states this quite clearly:

As Israel becomes a political liability it is time to challenge its enablers

FLASHBACK - Famed War Reporter Robert Fisk Reaches Syrian ‘Chemical Attack’ Site, Concludes “They Were Not Gassed”

Robert Fisk’s bombshell first-hand account for the UK Independent runs contrary to nearly every claim circulating in major international press concerning what happened just over week ago on April 7th in an embattled suburb outside Damascus: not only has the veteran British journalist found no evidence of a mass chemical attack, but he’s encountered multiple local eyewitnesses who experienced the chaos of that night, but who say the gas attack never happened.

Fisk is the first Western journalist to reach and report from the site of the alleged chemical weapons attack widely blamed on Assad’s forces. Writing from Douma in eastern Ghouta, Fisk has interviewed a Syrian doctor who works at the hospital shown in one of the well-known videos which purports to depict victims of a chemical attack.

Israel Hints It Can Hit Iran's "Air Force" in Syria if It Retaliates for T-4

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, two Israeli F-15 fighter jets conducted an attack against Syria's T-4 base on April 9. Israeli sources claim the attack was aimed at Iranian fighters in Syria, with Tehran denying the claims of its military presence in the country.

Israeli media released aerial photos of alleged Iranian air bases on Syrian territory early on April 17. Sky News Arabia reports, citing an IDF official, that Israel is determined to strike back if Iran decides to retaliate for its attack on the T-4 air base. Roni Daniel, military editor for Israeli TV station Mako, told Reuters that the exposure of images of the bases is a sign that Israel can conduct a strike on them, if it is forced to do so.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were I the Israeli government, I would be far more concerned about potential Russian strikes against their aircraft, in these illegal raids against Syria, rather than what Iran or Syria could do.

Of course, the reason the Israelis are panicing right now, is the oil under Syria's Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, where Israel is already selling the oil contracts there illegally.

The other reason for these raids is, that Israel wants to see Syria balkanized, and Tehran regime-changed, for its, and Western banks' interests, but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

Israel wants to find a way of tricking the US into a wider Middle Eastern war, with it, Saudi Arabia, the US and NATO on one side, and Russia and China on the other. The goal is controlling all the oil in the region, even into Africa, and in what denomination that oil is siold.

I would like to hope President Trump is smart enough to appreciate this little factoid of Israeli foreign policy, but that remains to be seen.

I just get the sense, however, that the US is going to be occupying Syria for a long, long time, and that the war here may be widening, thanks to US and Israeli efforts.

US CENTCOM CHIEF MAKES "SECRET AND UNPRECEDENTED" VISIT TO ISRAEL AS RUSSIA MULLS ARMING SYRIA

Increasingly it appears that the recent US coalition missile strikes on Syria have utterly backfired: instead of weakening Syria or degrading its military capabilities, the attack may have actually served to strengthen Syria's defenses.

Since the massive strike which involved the US, UK, and France launching over 100 cruise missiles, Russia is rumored to be moving forward on delivery of its advanced S-300 missile defense system, which would be a monumental upgrade allowing Syrian defenses to far surpass current capabilities which utilize the Soviet-made S-125 and S-200 air defense systems.

Crucially, S-300s have a range of up to 150-200 kilometers (or 120 miles), bringing Syrian deterrent reach easily to within Lebanese airspace (as Israel has routinely struck targets inside Syria while firing over "neutral" Lebanese airspace in recent years), and could even extend airspace coverage into Israel itself.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel must be made to understand, at a level its top military and civilian leadership comprehends fully, that these attacks against Syria, will simply cause Russia to arm the country to the point where it can fight back against Israel's military aggression, and unless Israel is willing to actually invade Syria (which Russia will block, militarily and diplomatically), it should really back off, and right the hell now.

And either the US Centcom chief Votel can communicate this clearly with the Israeli leadership, or we are looking at World War III, with Russia, Syria, China, and Iran gathering forces on one side, and the US, NATO, Israel, and Saudi Arabia on the other; it is just that simple, folks.

The Great Game Comes To Syria

An unusual triple alliance is emerging from the Syrian war, one that could alter the balance of power in the Middle East, unhinge the NATO alliance, and complicate the Trump administration’s designs on Iran. It might also lead to yet another double cross of one of the region’s largest ethnic groups, the Kurds.

However, the “troika alliance” - Turkey, Russia and Iran - consists of three countries that don’t much like one another, have different goals, and whose policies are driven by a combination of geo-global goals and internal politics.

Lies and Deception in the Failed US Strike on Syria

US Navy warships in the Red Sea and Air Force B-1B bombers and F-15 and F-16 aircraft rained dozens of ship- and air-launched cruise missiles down on the Syrian capital of Damascus, an airbase outside the city, a so-called chemical weapons storage facility near Homs, and an equipment-storage facility and command post, also near Homs. B1-Bs are typically armed with JASSM cruise missiles, which have a 450 kg warhead and a range of 370 kms. US Navy warships launched Tomahawks, which have 450 kg warheads and an operational range of between 1,300 and 2,500 kms. The British Royal Air Force’s contingent for the assault consisted of four Tornado GR4 ground-attack aircraft armed with the Storm Shadow long-range air-to-ground missile, which the UK’s Defense Ministry said targeted ‘chemical weapons sites’ in Homs. These weapons have a range of 400 kms.

In The Atlantic (4/14/18), Thanassis Cambanis described the war crime as “undoubtedly a good thing,” and called for “sustained attention and investment, of diplomatic, economic and military resources”—though the latter rubbed up against his assessment in the same paragraph that “a major regional war will only make things worse.” Moreover, he described “the most realistic possibility” for the US and its partners in Syria as “an incomplete and possibly destabilizing policy of confrontation [and] containment. But a reckoning can’t be deferred forever.”

Germany's Largest Public TV News Broadcaster: Syria Chemical Attack "Most Likely Staged"

A senior correspondent for German state media broadcast ZDF heute stunned his European audience during a report from on the ground in Syria when he gave a straightforward and honest account of his findings while investigating what happened in Douma. The veteran reporter, Uli Gack, interviewed multiple eyewitnesses of the April 7 alleged chemical attack and concluded of the testimonials, "the Douma chemical attack is most likely staged, a great many people here seem very convinced."

It appears that all local Syrians encountered by the German public broadcast reporter were immediately dismissive of the widespread allegation that the Syrian government gassed civilians, which the US, UK, France, and Israel used a pretext for launching missile strikes on Damascus.

IDF hits Syrian targets after mortar shell lands in Israel

A mortar shell fired from Syria, likely the result of errant fire from the raging civil war, landed inside Israeli territory in the Golan Heights on Monday, prompting the IDF to carry out a precision artillery strike on a Syrian military position.

No one was hurt in the stray mortar fire, which landed east of the border fence near Quneitra. “The IDF sees the Syrian civil regime as responsible for all that happens on its territory and will not tolerate any attempt to harm the sovereignty of the State of Israel or the security of its citizens,” an IDF statement read after the retaliatory strike.

US Media Fudge Rebels' Douma Surrender Date to Imply Alleged Assad Chemical Attack Turned Tide

Investigators from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) have only recently reached Douma, scene of an alleged chemical bombing attack on April 7, and have not yet had time to test samples they collected to see if banned poison chemicals were actually used, but already US mainstream media reporting on the situation in the Damascus suburb where the alleged chemical attack is said to have occurred is starting to shift. That shift tends to make the story to fall more comfortably in line with the US government position that the attack, if it happened, was the work of the Syrian military, and that Assad's "attack" caused rebels to surrender and agree to leave the embattled city.

Syrian Army Strips Militants of Suicide Belts, Vast Cache of NATO Arms

An estimated 6,000 Jaysh al-Islam militants and their families are expected to withdraw from East Qalamoun, northwest of Syrian capital, to Jarablus in northern Aleppo province.

Syrian troops carrying out searches of militants at the settlement of Ar-Ruheiba in the Eastern Qalamoun Mountains in Rif Dimashq Governate have seized suicide belts and ammunition which jihadists tried to take with them during their withdrawal, the Syran Arab News Agency reports.

According to the Syrian Army, the militants' withdrawal, agreed based on the same terms allowing fighters to withdraw from Eastern Ghouta, will continue for the next two or three days.

Last week militants concluded their withdrawal from the city of Dumayr, the makeshift capital and key supply center for militant positions in Eastern Qalamoun.

Daesh Militants Moving to Central, Southeast Asia After Defeat in Syria, Iraq

Militants of the Islamic State terrorist organization are moving to Central and Southeast Asia after having been defeated in Syria and Iraq, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday.

"After the defeat of the so-called Islamic State, militants are moving to other regions from Syria and Iraq, including to Central and Southeast Asia. New terrorist cells are being created there," Shoigu said during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Beijing.

"The situation is complicated by the fact that terrorists use modern means of destruction, including unmanned aerial vehicles… capable of operating over a distance of 100 kilometers [62 miles]. Their creation is impossible without the technical assistance of developed countries," he added.

Lavrov Calls French President Stance on Syria ‘Colonial’

The Russian and Chinese foreign ministers have held a joint press conference after talks in Beijing, which were dedicated to the situation on the Korean peninsula in the wake of North Korea's decision to halt nuclear and missile tests, as well as the situation in Syria.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has lashed out at the missile strikes carried out by the US, France and the UK on Syria, saying that they were aimed at hindering the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) investigation into the alleged use of poisonous substances in Douma, Eastern Ghouta.

"Both sides gave an extremely negative assessment of the missile attack of the United States and its allies on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic. This is a gross violation of international law," Lavrov said at a press conference following a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

Mass grave found in Syrian city held by US-backed militants

A mass grave containing around 50 bodies has been uncovered in the northern Syrian city of Raqqah which was held by the Daesh terror group and regarded as its so-called capital.

The graves located under a football pitch close to a hospital in the city contained bodies of both civilians and Daesh terrorists, AFP quoted Abdallah al-Eriane, a senior official with Raqqah Civil Council, as saying on Saturday.

He said up to 200 bodies could be dug up from the place upon further excavation.

"It was apparently the only place available for burials, which were done in haste,” he said, noting that the terrorists would use the hospital to hide away. Some bodies were marked with Daesh insignia, while civilians just had their first names attached to their corpses, the official noted.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – APRIL 24, 2018: US BUILDS NEW BASE, PREPARES FOR NEXT PHASE OF CONFLICT

On April 23, according to local sources, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) destroyed an artillery piece of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) with a guided missile near the town of al-Kawm in southern Syria. The IDF confirmed the reports and justified their move by saying that a mortar shell originating from Syria had fallen in the Israeli-held area.

On the same day, the SAA repelled three separate attacks by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham militants in northwestern Aleppo and inside the Rastan pocket. The militants had increased their activity across Syria as the SAA operation against ISIS in southern Damascus entered its active phase.

The ISIS pocket in the Yarmouk refugee camp area is slowly crumbling, but it’s still a complicated battle for the SAA and its allies. The Syrian military has deployed a few pro-government Palestinian militias, including Liwa al-Quds, to operate more successfully in this mostly Palestinian-populated area.

Washington Using Currency War To Destabilize Iran

The neoconservative hawks around the US President, notably new National Security head John Bolton and designated Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, are on record that Iran is in Washington’s sights for regime change or at a minimum, economic sanctions and chaos. The rhetoric is not empty. The ground is being laid by US threats to not renew the Iran nuclear agreement in May, a move opposed by the other signatories and a move that would plunge Iran into a deep economic crisis at a time it can ill afford.
The orchestration of the US-led bombing of Syria, regardless of what targets were or were not hit, now sets the propaganda stage for a dramatic escalation of new sanctions against Iran, and for a major destabilization, something not possible in 2009.

What is taking shape now from the side of Washington is preparation to unleash a new wave of economic and financial sanctions on Iran, regardless.

BREAKING: Israeli strikes hit Syrian Army near Occupied Golan Heights

An Israeli missile strike targeted a position for the Syrian Army in al-Kom town near the Occupied Golan Heights as the government forces crackdown on jihadi groups in the area.

According to a military source, the strike hit an artillery position in the bordering town but no casualties reported.

The Israeli aggression comes as the Syrian Army has been targeting Islamist militants in Al-Hamidiyah and al-Qahtaniyah towns. The bordering area between Syria and the Golan Heights are controlled by ultra-conservative Islamist groups whose members repeatedly receive medical treatment in Israel.

OPCW Chemical Inspection Team Reaches Douma After Issuing Statement Negating "Russia Cover-Up" Claim

Though the team was invited into the country by the Syrian and Russian governments - both signatories to the international body devoted to decommissioning global stockpiles of banned chemical weapons - there's been much spin and obfuscation regarding why the team was actually delayed, with a number of media outlets in the West falsely claiming that Syria and Russia were attempting a cover-up.

This was based in part on the unverified claims of political leaders in the West who have long sought Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's ouster, and who have given covert aid to various jihadist rebel groups.

France's foreign minister, for example, accused both Damascus and Russia of "obstructionism [which] is obviously undermining the caliber of the investigation. It is most likely aimed at removing evidence and other material elements linked to the chemical attack on the very site where it took place."

The Truth About The Syria Chemical Attacks – No Evidence of Assad Chem Weapons, Western False Flag Seems Likely

By Brandon Turbeville

As the world awaits the OPCW inspectors scheduled to enter Douma and present their findings regarding the alleged chemical weapons attacks there, most researchers and discerning onlookers already have a pretty good idea of what took place. Despite the crowing of Western countries regarding their yet to be disclosed “proof” that the Syrian government launched chemical weapons against civilians in Douma, there has been not one shred of evidence to back them up. Indeed, what evidence does exist seems to prove only that the attack was staged.

Here are a number of reasons that the claims made by the United States, Britain, and Frances are completely false...

‘Whole story was staged’: Germany's ZDF reporter says Douma incident was false flag attack

The alleged chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma was staged by local militants, who tried to frame it as a Syrian Army strike, a German TV correspondent, who travelled to Damascus, has said publicly, citing local witnesses.

“People told us in a very convincing manner that this whole story was staged,” Uli Gack, a reporter with the German ZDF public broadcaster, said (referring to the alleged Douma chemical attack) while he spoke live on ZDF Heute (‘Today’) show on Satuday.

Gack had travelled to Syria and visited one of the refugee camps near Damascus, where “some 20,000 people from Eastern Ghouta and particularly from Douma” were living.

The scene of the attack, which allegedly took place on April 7, was in fact the “command post” of a local Islamist group, the reporter said, citing the witnesses he was able to speak to at the refugee camp.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – APRIL 23, 2018: MILITANT-HELD POCKETS CRUMBLING IN WESTERN SYRIA

Syrian government forces are developing an advance against ISIS in the Yarmouk refugee camp area in southern Damascus. The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies have liberated the al-Mujahedeen mosque reaching the Taqadom district and captured a major part of the Zain district.

This area is the last militant-held pocket near Damascus. If it’s liberated, the Syrian capital will be fully secured.

According to pro-government sources, the sides are still negotiating on a possible deal that would allow ISIS members to withdraw to the Homs desert. However, the deal has not been reached yet. So, government forces are developing their military operation in the area.

Damascus and the local negotiations committee of the Rastan pocket have once again failed to reach a reconciliation agreement. Pro-government sources say that little success of the recent SAA advance in the area was one of the reasons behind the local negotiations committee’s decision to not go forward with the deal.

France's Participation in Syria Strikes to Have Bad Legacy - National Front

YALTA (Sputnik) - France's participation in the recent missile strike on Syria was a very "reckless" decision that will only have negative consequences for Syria in terms of escalating the situation in the war-ravaged country that is still battling terrorists, National Front Secretary-General Nicolas Bay said in an interview with Sputnik.

"Military escalation is always to be feared. I had the opportunity to tell President Macron on Tuesday, because he was at the European Parliament that this operation he launched was very incautious… It could only have a negative consequence," Bay said on the sidelines of the IV Yalta International Economic Forum in Crimea.

Bay believes that "it would be the honor of France" to fight against terrorism along with the forces of Syrian President Bashar Assad and Russia.

Germany's Largest Public TV News Broadcaster: Syria Chemical Attack "Most Likely Staged"

It appears that all local Syrians encountered by the German public broadcast reporter were immediately dismissive of the widespread allegation that the Syrian government gassed civilians, which the US, UK, France, and Israel used a pretext for launching missile strikes on Damascus.

The German ZDF report is consistent with veteran British journalist Robert Fisk's investigation upon being the first Western journalist to gain access to the site in Douma.

The Backlash Against Trump's Syria Strike

Last week Donald Trump willfully violated the Constitution as even he once understood it, despite being warned against doing so by dozens of members of Congress.

Hours before the president ordered the U.S. military to strike three targets in Syria, 88 members of Congress sent him a letter to remind him of his legal obligations. Strikes “when no direct threat to the United States exists” and “without Congressional authorization” would violate the Constitution’s separation of powers, they declared. “We strongly urge you to consult and receive authorization from Congress before ordering additional use of U.S. military force in Syria.”

Voices of the Syrian People

The attack against Syria – this proud and independent country – has just taken place.

Three countries with zero moral mandate to judge or punish anybody; three countries already responsible for hundreds of millions of human lives lost on all continents for centuries, showered Syria with their missiles.

They tried to scare to death Syria, and to break its determination, but they failed. Most of the Syrian people stood proudly by their government.

71 out of 103 of the Western missiles were shot down, and the rest fell on the empty facilities, which have nothing to do with a ‘production or storage of the chemical weapons’. To begin with, Syria has no chemical weapons program and no chemical weapons factories, as well as no warehouses, so nothing could really fall on something that does not exist.

Israel's Netanyahu voices 'total support' for Syria strikes

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday voiced his "total support" for US-led air strikes against Syria over its alleged use of chemical weapons. "A year ago I gave Israel's total support for (US) President Donald Trump's decision to mobilise against the use of chemical weapons," he said, referring to American strikes against the Syrian regime in April 2017 after a sarin gas attack on a rebel-held town. "Israel's support remains unchanged," Netanyahu said. "This morning the United States, France and the United Kingdom showed that their commitment is not limited to declarations of principles," he added in a statement.
Note: Can you envision a world without Netanyahu and Israel. I can and so can the world!

International Lawyers: Strike Against Syria Would Be Illegal

We are practitioners and professors of international law. Under international law, military strikes by the United States of America and its allies against the Syrian Arab Republic, unless conducted in self-defense or with United Nations Security Council approval, are illegal and constitute acts of aggression. The unlawful killing of any human being without legal justification, under every legal system, is murder. And an act of violence committed by one government against another government, without lawful justification, amounts to the crime of aggression: the supreme international crime ... We must point out that for the last several years, as is now common knowledge, the United States has armed rebels/insurgents to overthrow the current government of Syria. This is illegal under international law.

Operation Timber Sycamore And Washington’s Secret War On Syria

To start this conflict and then keep its fires burning the US and its Satellites have spent billions of dollars...

For many, proxy warfare ended with the fall of the Soviet Union. However, anyone following the news coming from Syria knows this is not necessarily the case. The Timber Sycamore program — which has been in decline since the Russian bombing campaign — is on the verge of being phased out, officials say. However, billions of dollars’ in small arms and military technology have flooded the market in Syria and the proxy countries the US used to supply the rebel forces.

Turkish Op in Syria: US Promises to Retaliate Against Any Attack on Manbij – SDF

A Syrian Democratic Forces commander has told Sputnik that residents of the city of Manbij in northeastern Syria are on heightened alert due to the planned Turkish military operation in the area but that the current situation in the city is stable.

"Not long ago, we discussed the issue related to Turkey's possible attack on Manbij with the US military which promised to retaliate against any assault on the city, regardless of who would launch this attack," Ebu Adil, commander of the Manbij Military Council within the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), stressed.

He said that the US-led coalition has been stationed in the city since it was liberated from Daesh* militants two years ago.

German Parliament Lawyers Brand US-Led Airstrike on Syria Illegal

According to lawyers of the Bundestag, the missile attack by the US-UK-France coalition, supported by the German Government, violates international law. The grounds that the strike was a retaliatory measure following an alleged chemical attack were dismissed as “not convincing.”

The law experts of the German Parliament denounced the legal grounds for the US-led missile attack on Syria in a report requested by the left-wing party Die Linke.

"The deployment of military force against a state to punish it for breaking an international convention is a violation of the international law prohibiting violence," reads the report, as cited by the German Press agency DPA.

How Yulia and Sergei Skripal (and their cat) Saved the World! A Synopsis of the Attack on Syria.

Having seen their laundry list of previous cunning political connivances go almost unchallenged by their own populace in routine acquiescence, their lies became ever bolder. And inexplicable. This lulled them into a false sense of overconfidence that believed they could provide all manner of utter nonsense as long as it was alleged to be attached to the never passe “Soviet Union” better known as “Russia.” So, it was natural for these three myopic world leaders to assume their latest plot would pass easily within the shadows of their own dark souls. Instead, theirs was a comedy show that suddenly snapped the world to the realization:

We no longer believe a fucking thing you say!

Insurgents south of Syrian capital surrender: state TV

Insurgents in the last area outside Syrian government control near Damascus agreed Friday to withdraw, but the army's bombardment continued pending a full surrender deal, state media and a war monitor reported.

The development heralds another advance for President Bashar Assad's push to retake remaining enclaves and strengthen his position around the capital after retaking eastern Ghouta this month.

Large puffs of smoke could be seen on state television rising from a row of buildings as an artillery salvo struck home before one collapsed in a cloud of dust, accompanied by the rattle of automatic fire and the sound of distant blasts.

Assad is in his strongest position since early in the seven-year war despite U.S., British and French air strikes on April 14 - their first coordinated action in the war.

‘Fake news’: the mainstreaming of Syria conspiracy theories

Even before the missiles reached their targets, though, what had previously been the claims of a small, if vociferous, section of Assad’s supporters had extended to commentators and analysts; questions started to be asked about whether or not the Douma attack was simply another example of “fake news”.

Such allegations are not new in the Syrian crisis. The regime has long accused opposition groups of faking incidents to support their cause, and Western media of inventing stories to tarnish Assad’s image. Russian websites have largely peddled a narrative sympathetic to their government’s foreign policy in the region, portraying the Syrian opposition as armed terrorist insurgents violating national sovereignty. Over time, regional commentators and analysts have been known to verify news from state news agencies, as well as Russian and Iranian outfits, due to the stories often being backed by unreliable and incomplete evidence.

Why Each US President Ends Up As Ruthless Interventionist These Days

In the wake of last week’s cruise missile attack on Syria, there was a joke going around the internet saying that it doesn’t matter who Americans vote for, they always wind up getting John McCain as President of the United States. The humor derives from the fact that the past three presidents all ran for office committed to reducing America’s interventionism overseas but once in office they reversed course and expanded US military commitments worldwide, turning them into facsimiles of John McCain, who has never seen a war he didn’t like.

The decision to bomb Syria had not even been made when Trump jumped the gun and warned Assad and his Russian allies in a tweet of “nice and new and ‘smart’!” missiles heading their way.

According to US media reports, Defence Secretary James “Mad Dog” Mattis pleaded with Trump to wait until Assad’s alleged responsibility for the Douma “attack” could be verified and Congress given a chance to authorise the act of war, but they went ahead to validate Trump’s tweets.

Is everyone registering this? Trump may have risked a third world war so he would not risk losing his credibility for live-tweeting Fox and Friends.

NEW EVIDENCE IN DUMA! Chemical substance hexamine discovered in the laboratory of the terrorists

The Russian army found in the Syrian Duma another evidence that Nusra fronts produce chemical weapons, the expert on Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Unit Colonel Alexander Rodionov told journalists on Friday

- A large quantity of substance hexamine was found during search of a chemical laboratory of terrorists, which is another proof that the terrorists produced chemical weapons - said Rodionov.

He added that this substance is used for the production of explosives, but also for the production of war poisonous substances such as sarin.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that the withdrawal of fighters from the Duma was fully completed on April 13. The city has left 21,000 fighters and members of their families. The Duma went under the control of the Syrian government.

About 1,500 Rallied in Berlin Against Syria Strikes – Die Linke Party

Approximately 1,500 Germans took to the streets of Berlin on Wednesday to protest against the US-led strikes on Syria and call for an end to war, Alexander Neu, a member of the Bundestag from the left-wing Die Linke party, which organized the protests, told Sputnik on Thursday.

Germany welcomed the joint actions taken by its US, UK and French allies against Syria on April 14 in response to the alleged chemical weapons attack in the Damascus suburb of Duma. The German authorities stressed that this military strike was necessary to support the effectiveness of the international boycott of the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government. However, Berlin chose to refrain from participating in the military operation itself.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – APRIL 20, 2018: OPERATIONS IN SOUTHERN DAMASCUS, EASTERN QALAMOUN

On April 19, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies supported by warplanes of the Syrian Air Force launched a military operation against ISIS in the Yarmouk refugee camp and the al-Hajar al-Aswad district in southern Damascus. The SAA also involved artillery guns and rocket launchers to support the attack.

The development came after negotiations on a possible withdrawal of ISIS members from the area to the eastern Homs desert had collapsed. However, according to local sources, the ISIS members in Yarmouk still have chances to accept a withdrawal agreement.

On the same day, militants in the main Eastern Qalamoun pocket surrendered to the SAA and accepted an agreement under which they will be able to withdraw to the militant held parts of Aleppo and Idlib provinces or to settle their legal status. Militants already began handing over their heavy weapons, including a few battle tanks. The evacuation process is set to be started on April 20.

The TASS News Agency reported on 19 April that the Syrian military found two cruise missiles that did not explode during the US-led missile strike of April 14. Both missiles were discovered to be in relatively good shape, and they were handed over to a Russian military officer on April 17.

After this, the missiles were flown to Russia by plane, presumably for analysis. TASS could not confirm this independently with the Russian Defense Ministry at this time.

Just to remind our readers, the Skripal attack was staged in…you guessed it, Salisbury.

Chemical Laboratory Warehouse of Militants Discovered in Douma

On April 17, Russian troops uncovered a lab in Douma, which, according to chemical defense specialist Alexander Rodionov, could have been used by terrorist groups for the production of chemical weapons.

"The substances discovered, such as thiodiglycol and diethanolamine, are necessary for the production of sulfur and nitrogen mustard gas. In addition, a cylinder with chlorine, similar to that used by militants to set up the widely spread fake story, was found in the warehouse. It can be concluded that this laboratory was used by illegal armed groups for the production of poisonous substances," Rodionov said.

Staged suffering? Interview with boy in Douma video raises more doubts over ‘chem attack’

He was eventually found by his father, who said he didn’t hear about any chemical attack that day. “I went to the hospital, walked upstairs, and found my wife and children. I asked them what had happened, and they said people outside were shouting about some smell, and told them to go to the hospital. At the hospital, they gave dates and cookies to the kids,” he said.

One of the medical workers, who was reportedly on shift at the time, said he was surprised by the sudden influx. “Some people came here and washed people. They said: ‘Chemical attack. Chemical attack.’ We didn’t see any chemical attack symptoms,” he added. He did, however, say that there were many people with respiratory problems as a result of dust from recent bombings in the city.

Also, an army unit that was carrying out mop-up operation in Douma found a large volume of chemicals and several Saudi-registered license plates.

He suffered no injures from the “chemical attack” because there was no attack (at least then and there);
The boy participated in the video for food (rice, dates and cookies).

The boy, the 'victim' of the chemical attack, explained how the horror in Duma was done

Syrian boy Hasan Diab, who is portrayed as a victim of a chemical attack in Duma in a cropped video of the "White Helmets", has told details about the shooting.

- We were in the basement. My mom told me that today there is nothing to eat and that we will eat only tomorrow. We heard shouting in the street, shouting: Go to the hospital. We ran to the hospital, and as soon as I entered, they caught me and began to water. After that they put us in bed with other people - said the boy for the television channel Russia 24.

TV Channel War Reporter Yevgeny Podubny stated that the boy forced to participate in the video recording.

- The boy had nothing to eat. For this shooting, he offered rice and baking - says the reporter.

The boy's words were confirmed by his father, who added that there was no chemical attack in the city.
