Air Force could recall as many as 1,000 retired pilots to address serious shortage

President Trump signed an executive order Friday allowing the Air Force to recall as many as 1,000 retired pilots to active duty to address a shortage in combat fliers, the White House and Pentagon announced.

By law, only 25 retired officers can be brought back to serve in any one branch. Trump's order removes those caps by expanding a state of national emergency declared by President George W. Bush after 9/11, signaling what could be a significant escalation in the 16-year-old global war on terror.

"We anticipate that the Secretary of Defense will delegate the authority to the Secretary of the Air Force to recall up to 1,000 retired pilots for up to three years," Navy Cdr. Gary Ross, a Pentagon spokesman, said in a statement.

But the executive order itself is not specific to the Air Force, and could conceivably be used in the future to call up more officers and in other branches.

Is Liberalism a Dying Faith? Pat Buchanan

James Burnham called it (Liberalism) in his 1964 “Suicide of the West” — the ideology of Western suicide.

Asked to name the defining attributes of the America we wish to become, many liberals would answer that we must realize our manifest destiny since 1776, by becoming more equal, more diverse and more democratic — and the model for mankind’s future.

Neocon Nikki Haley’s Anti-Iran Rage: Prelude to War?

Neocon Nikki Haley is Trump’s leading administration antagonist, notably on North Korea and Iran. Her hostile early September address on the Islamic Republic before the hawkish American Enterprise Institute preceded Trump’s decertification of the JCPOA nuclear deal – an international treaty the president defied by his action.

Haley’s address was a deplorable litany of beginning-to-end Big Lies. On Wednesday during a Security Council open debate on the Middle East, she was at it again.

Her remarks included a long laundry list of long ago discredited canards.

Washington, Israel, and its sinister AIPAC lobby resent Iranian sovereign independence, its military strength solely for defense – an obstacle to Israeli regional dominance, along with America’s presence.

Were Haley’s hostile Wednesday remarks prelude for initiating diabolical Trump administration plans ahead, including naked aggression against the country – nuclear deal decertification a starter for what’s to come?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am sure that Haley's strongest qualifications for the job as Bimbobassador to the UN, was her unswavering, slavish affection for Israel, allowing her to believe that this country can do no wrong, and an absolute, nearly pathological inability to look at facts, and make intelligent conclusions from a review of the facts.

A thinking Ambassador to the UN would be loathe to be condemn both North Korea and Iran for trying to defend their countries, and would be condemning Israel's flagrant collective punishment of the Palestinians; unfortunately, that is not what we have in Ambassador Haley, and the world may suffer terribly from this.

CIA Chief: North Korea on Cusp of Ability to Hit US With Nukes

Pompeo warned that North Korea’s progress is so quick now that there’s no way to predict when they’ll succeed, adding “you’re now talking about months” and that a “detailed level” of precision is irrelevant.

North Korea has been very public about wanting this capacity for a nuclear retaliation against the US as a way to deter constant US threats for attacks. Officials have even suggested North Korea is loathe to talk with the US until they have this capacity, to blunt the threat of a US attack as a negotiating tactic.

Despite North Korea being on the verge of having a capacity that should make US strikes unthinkable, Pompeo said the US should continue to keep the possibility of attacking on the table.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The huge war exercises between South Korea and the US has, theoretically ended as of today.

So what happens when these military resources are out of the North Korean Peninsula?!?

38north.org, a highly respected organisation under the auspices of John Hopkins University, has nothing, recently, about the North Korean having moved any of their missiles to their launch site for a test.

I frankly think that Kim Jung Un will not do anything with his missiles, until he and his nuclear scientists are absolutely sure that they have a missile which can actually hit the US East Coast; at that point, he may be ready to negotiate with the United States, from a position of strength.

More than 1,800 civilians killed overall in defeat of ISIS at Raqqa, say monitors

US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces have announced the capture of Raqqa from so called Islamic State (ISIS) fighters — and while Coalition officials say small pockets of resistance remain, it is now possible to assess the significant civilian toll of the four month battle.

Some 200,000 civilians by some estimates were in the city when operations to dislodge ISIS began on June 6th. Though the SDF and Coalition appeared at times to give conflicting instructions to civilians, most were able to flee – including several thousand during the last week of fighting, following an agreement that also saw the surrender and evacuation of around 275 ISIS fighters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump campaigned on not only killing ISIS, but their families as well; we can see that demonstrated these huge numbers of casualties in Racca, where the US was absolutely not invited by the Syrian government to fight ISIS, but became, instead, an enabler for proxy jihadists.

Taliban Destroys Afghan Army Base in Kandahar

A major Taliban attack in Afghanistan’s Kandahar Province has resulted in the destruction of an entire Afghan Army base, and the deaths of at least 58 Afghan soldiers. The toll is expected to rise with others wounded and six still missing.

The attacks began with the Taliban detonating two armored vehicles full of explosives, causing massive damage. Other Taliban swooped into the base and destroyed everything that was left.

“Unfortunately there is nothing left inside the camp,” the Afghan Defense Ministry confirmed. “They have burned down everything they found inside. This is the latest of several major attacks on Afghan security forces in the past few days

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec Def Mattis, a word please: if the current US/NATO "Surge" is working, why, please, are these Taliban attacks escalating by the day?!?

You have to know that the US government is paralyzed by a fear of appearing as having failed in Afghanistan.

Wise Presidential leadership with any small grasp of the history of this part of the world would never make the mistake of engaging Afghanistan militarily in a heartbeat.

But what we had, in 2001, was the horrifically polar opposite from wisdom, feebly illuminated in the person of one George W. Bush, scion of a wealthy Texas oil family which believed, as a matter of personal dogma, that it had a "divine right" to rule the White House, via the second most criminal and skewed election in America's history.

Adept speech writers, and highly scripted photo ops, could only barely mask the innate lack of intelligence Bush possessed, so he could be easily railroaded into military misadventures which had abosolutely zero chance to be successful in either the short run or long run.

Bush and his unholy enablers, Cheney and Rumsfeld, cheerled the idea, when the money the Taliban wanted for use of their oil pipelines was far more than US oil companies were willing to pay, plus you had the instability issue in the country here.

The result of the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan has been a collosal strategic failure, bought at catastrophic cost in blood and money. You, as a military professional who is highly respected, and in fact, some say, revered by your troops, understand this.

You and President Trump's team have been very "agitated" about what the international community may think about the US and NATO leaving Afghanistan; but it is high time you paid just a little attention, please, to the folks who worked, against all odds, to put Trump into the White House: I, sir, count myself as one of those people.

What is logical, sir, after 16 years on, is to have US and NATO troops leave this country as quickly as safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government is left standing in Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

This could not possibly cost anywhere near as much as the current, and coming, complement of troops, on a daily basis, that the US and NATO are forking out right now for military operations.

I would like you to share your military wisdom with President Trump, about picking this country's battles more wisely than it has in the past; the current American sabre rattling against North Korea and Iran do not bode well in regard to an intelligently rational relationship with either country.

What the American people want is peace; the right and opportunity to work, and support their families; and to end these wars of conquest which are, generally, going so badly for this country.

Sec Def Mattis, you know what the right, moral thing to do here in Afghanistan should be; I am asking you, to have the moral courage to tell your Commander in Chief that this war is not winnable, without a hugely major, and quick, uptick in troop strength, which the American military, at this point in its history, cannot fulfill.

6 YEARS AGO TODAY, THE US HELPED MURDER GADDAFI TO STOP THE CREATION OF GOLD-BACKED CURRENCY

Six years ago today, the West took it upon itself to use NATO to overthrow Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi — not for any humanitarian threat to civilians as had been repeatedly claimed — but because his planned roll-out of a new currency to be used across Africa posed a palpable existential threat to central banks at the heart of the Western financial and political system.

Long theorized to be the actual vehicle for Gaddafi’s downfall, the gold dinar-based, pan-African currency motive came to light in nascent 2016 in one of more than 3,000 of Hillary Clinton’s emails released by the State Department — conveniently timed with the New Year’s holiday to abate outrage or repercussions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"We Came, We Saw, He Died!!" Thus cackled Clinton upon hearing of Ghadaffi's execution.

And we can see just how stabizing THAT was for Lybia, now factionalized in a bloody civil war, which is tearing the country apart, 6 years on.

TRUMP HAS KILLED MORE CIVILIANS WITH ILLEGAL DRONE STRIKES IN 9 MONTHS THAN OBAMA DID IN 8 YEARS

While the mainstream media focuses on anything but the current state of U.S. intervention in the Middle East, the Trump Administration is breaking records by accumulating a horrific number of civilian deaths.

Former President Obama earned the nickname of “Drone King” when he dramatically escalated the use of drone strikes, while also downplaying the number of innocent civilians who became “collateral damage.” In the two years that his administration devoted to publicly spending millions of taxpayer dollars to fight the Islamic State group, the estimated civilian death toll ranged from 2,300 to 3,400, according to Airwars, an organization tracking deaths in the war against ISIS.

President Trump has been in office for just 9 months, and he has already surpassed Obama’s murderous record with estimated numbers as high as 4,500 civilian deaths.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears to me that this alleged "War on Terror" is simply an excuse to commit genocide wherever American troops are stationed, which cause those who survive to become radicalized, and repeat the cycle all over again, to insure the US's perpetual waging of war on societies who have the extremely bad taste to be living over resources those in the Bowels of power in DC have decided the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika, need, and to expropriate them in such a way that their value never trickles down to indigenous peoples.

MI5 boss Andrew Parker: UK terror threat evolving at scale never seen before

The UK is facing a "multidimensional threat" that is rapidly evolving "at a scale and pace we've not seen before", the director general of MI5 has warned.

Andrew Parker said the security service is operating at an unprecedented level and has seen "a dramatic upshift in threats this year".

"It's at the highest tempo I've seen in my 34-year career," he said. "Today there is more terrorist activity, coming at us more quickly, and it can be harder to detect.

"We're now running well over 500 live operations involving around 3,000 individuals known to be currently involved in extremist activity in some way.

"As well as those we are looking at today, risk can also come from returnees from Syria and Iraq and also the growing pool of over 20,000 individuals we've looked at in the past in our terrorism investigations

Webmaster's Commentary:

Andrew Parker, a word, please, and a little logic.

The people uprooted from Iraq and Syria have every reason to be angry at the Anglo/US wars against their countries which caused them to have to flee, sometimes with nothing more than the clothes on their backs, to impose regime change, and insure that their oil was only sold in US dollars. The US and the Brits made that happen in Iraq, not so much in Syria yet; however, Israel is working hard to get another war going there, which the US military will most probably join.

This unrestricted, unrestrained immigration has caused massive woes for you, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Denmark and France. So here's about doing immigration intelligently; only let in the best of the best of the best, meaning that these are people who already are proficient in English; want to assimilate; have meaningful job skills in the 21st century, and will behave in a peaceful and civlised manner.

It's called vetting, Andrew.

This is no longer the 19th century, the century of the Emma Lazarus poem, which includes the phrases,

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

The US, UK, and Europe don't have the money or luxury or infrastructure to allow people to immigrate if they don't want to assimilate; don't want to learn the language; and do not want to be a part of their respective nations' economic growth. Just being a refugee cannot be enough grounds to let people immigrate when they have nothing to offer; all countries need to demand the best of the best of the best for the future of their countries.

And as to eliminating the refugee issues?!? Stop the wars; start negotiating in good faith for what you want, and back off from regime change (yes, I know that once THAT one gets started it can be addictive!)

IDF attacks Syrian army post in retaliation for errant rocket

The IDF attacked a Syrian army post on the outskirts of Quneitra on Thursday afternoon in retaliation for an errant rocket that landed in Israel.

According to reports in Sham FM radio, which is affiliated with the Syrian regime, and the Lebanese news site Elnashra, no one was hurt in the IDF attack.

IRGC vows enhanced Iranian missile power in face of threats

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has sharply denounced the US president’s hostile policies and insults against the Iranian nation, vowing that the country will speed up its conventional missile program and regional role in response to enemy threats.

In a Thursday statement, the IRGC stressed the Guards’ resolve to defend the Iranian nation’s security and emphasized that it will not waver in its resolve to stand against the global “hegemonic system” and “the vicious network of international Zionism.”

The elite Iranian force further stressed that the Islamic Republic’s regional influence and missile program, which came to fruition under tough sanctions, will incessantly continue to expand.

The IRGC statement slammed the “rogue” and “lightheaded” president of the US, Donald Trump, for insulting the Iranian nation and paving the way for cruel sanctions against Iran’s Guards in his mid-October speech.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Look, if you had a powerful foreign leader PUBLICLY threaten your country at the UN with the possibility of a war and national extinction against your people, wouldn't you take the precise same steps as Iran and North Korea are doing?!?

Logic says, HELL YES!!

Unfortunately, these statements from the IRGC are going to play right into Trump's and Netanyahu's plans to further demonize Iran, as a prelude to a war against it.

But Americans had better wake up to the stark reality that the costs of this war, which may well include war with Russia, whose leadership have long pledged military support of Iran should it be attacked, will only be paid in American blood and American money.

BofA Lists 10 Triggers For The Next Crash: "It's Coming Between Thanksgiving And Valentine's Day"

Back in mid-July, BofA's chief investment strategist Michael Hartnett predicted that the "most dangerous moment for market will come in 3 or 4 months." Well, we are now "between 3 and 4" months since that particular forecast was made, and the "most dangerous moment" we have experienced since, ironically, has been today's modest selloff on the 30 year anniversary of Black Monday. So looking back at his forecast, has Hartnett thrown in the towel on calls for a correction, and joined all the other BTFDers? Not quite: instead, Hartnett's thesis has merely shifted, and he now contends that having entered the market's melt up somewhat late, a bubble which as shown before has unleashed raging purchases of tech stocks and credit, especially junk bonds.

Putin on North Korea Crisis: Don’t Back Kim Jong Un Into a Corner

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Thursday that North Korea must not be "backed into a corner" and urged dialogue to end its nuclear standoff with the U.S.

Tensions have increased between Pyongyang and Washington in recent weeks, with President Donald Trump promising in August that North Korea would be met with "fire and fury" if it threatens the U.S. and calling Kim Jong Un, the North's leader, "rocket man" in a speech at the U.N. last month.

Putin did not mention the U.S. specifically on Thursday, but warned of the growing possibility of conflict and pointed out that North Korea is a "sovereign country."

"Problems should be solved in dialogue, and North Korea should not be backed into a corner," Putin said in a speech to the elite of Russia’s foreign policy establishment and foreign guests at a meeting organized by the Valdai Discussion Club near the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin is thoroughy correct on this, which means President Trump will not listen to a word he has said, and will continue to provoke until North Korea either does something rash, or has it done for them, courtesy of a US-invoked false flag.

America’s Predictable Betrayal of the Iran Deal

In a 2009 report titled, “Which Path to Persia?: Options for a New American Strategy Toward Iran” (PDF), corporate-financier funded US policy think tank the Brookings Institution would explicitly call for a deal to be offered by the US to Iran only to be intentionally broken and used as a pretext for direct military confrontation.

The report would propose (emphasis added):

Webmaster's Commentary:

A war against Iran will most likely mean a war with Russia, whose military and civilian leadership have long pledged to defend it, should it get attacked.

Oh yes, Saudi Arabia and Israel will "cheer the US military on", should such a confrontation begin; but Americans had better damned well wake up to the cold, hard reality here that the costs of such a war will be borne only through American blood and American money.

In connection with this upcoming war, I see the reinstitution of the draft in the US as a defninite probability in the near future; and this time, the US military will not only be coming for our young men, but also our young women as well.

How Netanyahu Pulls Trump’s Strings

Over the summer, Trump listened to advice about a possible major overhaul of U.S. foreign policy that would have checked Israeli/Saudi regional ambitions, opened diplomatic doors to Iran, and addressed the Korean crisis by brokering negotiations between the North and the South over some form of loose confederation.

There was even the possibility of a Nixon-goes-to-China moment with tough-guy Trump meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and the two countries restoring diplomatic ties, a process that could have given U.S. companies a better chance to compete in the Iranian market.

Those proposed moves had the advantage of reducing international tensions, saving the U.S. government money on future military adventures, and freeing U.S. corporations from the tangle of economic sanctions – exactly the “America First” strategy that Trump had promised his working-class base.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The level of absolute betrayal that I, and much of his base, felt at President Trump's martial rantings at the UN, threatening both North Korea and Iran with war and extinction, is so intense as to be absolutely unconveyable.

So I am hoping that some folks in the White House, Pentagon, State Department and Congress are asking themselves, quite seriously: is the US government actually prepared to go to war with both Iran and Russia, egged on by the Israeli cheerleaded in chief Netanyahu, when it is a dead moral certainty that the costs will be borne only in American blood, and with American money?!?

I would hope that a measured, collective answer to that question is, HELL, NO!!

But then again, I do not know what kind of Svengali hold Netanyahu has over President Trump, in terms of intel or background to which the American public is not privy.

Unfortunately, just because an action on the part of the US government could be the most ham-fistely, pig-headedly stupid thing it could do, is no guarantee that it will not do it.

And do take note; there have been absolutely no missile tests by North Korea over this last week of intense military exercises between South Korea and the US military off the Korean peninsula. Even though North Korea's Ambassador to the UN made the following statement on 16 October "Nuclear War May Break Out at Any Moment, these exercises are due to end tomorrow, and yet North Korea has not carried out its threats.

38north.org, an organisation under the auspices of John Hopins University, which studies North Korean actions by analyzing satellite imagery, has made no mentions of any movements of missiles to their testing site as of yesterday, 18 October, and this is my "canary in the coal mine" resource when it comes to North Korean military activity.

I doubt that this will ever happen in my lifetime, but what this country desperately needs right now, is a Department of Peace, to counter the warmongers in our government, and create options for resolving this country's geopolitical issues through intelligent, moral, hard-won negotiations, rather than through war.

Saudi Airstrike Kills Six Civilians, Mostly Children, in North Yemen: One Child Survived, But Critically Wounded in Home's Destruction

The latest in a long line of disastrous airstrikes by Saudi warplanes across Yemen, officials reported an airstrike on Tuesday night in the northern Jawf Province, destroying a single civilian home, killing six civilians and critically wounded another.

The civilians killed were an entire family. The slain included the parents and four of their daughters. The lone survivor, who was injured, was their only son. Saudi officials gave no indication why the house was destroyed.

Locals in the district, however, reported that the house was directly targeted twice, initially hit with airstrikes that destroyed the building, and then minutes later as rescue workers got close to the site. Officials say no rescue workers were injured, as they had yet to reach the wreckage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The assassinations of women and children seems to be a major specialty of the US-enabled Saudi military in Yemen.

Mr. President, I do not know what your Unholy Triumverate of Kelly, Mattis, and McMaster are telling you about these murders of innocents, coupled with the massive deaths from malnutrition, due to US-assisted Yemeni port blockades, and the deaths from (potentially weaponised) cholera, but the US government and military, under your watch, have been colluding in Saudi war crimes in Yemen; there is no "nice" way to say this, sir.

The government of my country is guilty of war crimes, period, end of discussion; and Mr. President, as an American who supported your candidacy over that of Clinton in the last election, I am profoundly morally uncomfortable with your choices here.

Yes, those weapons manufacturers who have been selling bombs to the Saudis have made a "killing", both literally and figuratively; but at what cost to the soul of this nation, sir?!?

That is a question I have to ask, and respectfully request that you answer.

And one more thing, President Trump; your newest BFF, Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman, has many honorifics, which go with his position in the Royal House of Saud; however, there is one title which is going to follow him, and curse him to his grave and beyond; that of the Butcher of Yemen.

EU leaders to call for end to North Korea's weapons program: draft

European Union leaders will demand on Thursday that North Korea end its nuclear and ballistic weapons program, according to the draft final statement of an EU summit.

The statement, to be delivered after a discussion among leaders on Thursday evening, will follow the latest EU sanctions agreed on Monday by foreign ministers, which go beyond United Nations measures.

Leaders will tell Pyongyang "to abandon its nuclear and ballistic missile programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner", the draft said.

Leaders will also say they are ready to consider further measures, without specifying what they might be. Diplomats said they could include sanctions on non-EU countries still doing business with Pyongyang.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Well, good luck on that one; and to the European leaders who have contributed to this: Pyongyang will most probably abandon its nuclear program when its nuclear missles can actually reach the east coast of the United States!!

China's leadership reshuffle 2017HOME XI'S AGENDA RISING STARS APPOINTMENTS BIG PICTURE ALL ARTICLES OPINIONChina has the world’s biggest military force. Now Xi Jinping wants it to be the best

Laying out his ambitious plan for the People’s Liberation Army in a report to the Communist Party’s national congress on Wednesday, Xi said the PLA must modernise by 2035 and become a top-ranked military by 2050.

“A military force is built to fight. Our military must regard combat readiness as the goal for all its work and focus on how to win when it is called upon,” Xi said.

He said technology was at the core of combat strength and the PLA needed to apply information technology and modern warfare strategies to advance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government, military, and particularly our weapons manufacturers, need to be paying attention to this.

The culture of American weapons manufacturers has become avaricous; professionally sloppy in output; and has had a consistent track record of of not delivering what our military needs, and gouging the taxpayer for it, big-time.

One of the greatest debacles in weapons manufacturing in the 21st century, has been the F-35, courtesy of Lockheed Martin, which still cannot function as advertised.

Please do not get me wrong here; as a Christian Pacifist activist, I am constantly exhorting my government to resolve its geopolitical disputes with methods other than warfare.

But when war happens, I want our military to absolutely have the best possible weapons in their arsenals; there should not be one soldier in the field who gets wounded or dies from shoddy weapons manufacturing, or shoddy "value engineering".

And toward that end, weapons manufacurers should be forbidden, as a class, from contibuting to any political candidacies, period, end of discussion; it is through those contributions that they buy their immunity, and their ability to create crud which doesn't work, is wretchedly over-priced, and is causing problems for our military's response capabilities.

the Russians and Chinese are recieving far more bang for their weapons development buck than is the US military: that has got to stop, right the heck now.

A fascinating collection of photos have resurfaced showing the hardships faced by German-Americans at the brutal height of the First World War.

As Europe was ravaged by fighting, German immigrants in the US suffered harassment, internment, lynchings - and even the humiliation of being tarred and feathered.

Although a little-remembered part of history today, America was wracked by the fear and paranoia that swept from coast to coast during the Great War.

Raqqa Liberation From ISIS Reportedly At Final Stage, UN Says City In Ruins

US-backed fighters in Syria have reported the final liberation of Raqqa from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL). However, there seems to be no further plan in Washington of how to bring life back to the almost completely destroyed city.

Major Taliban Attacks Kill at Least 74 Across Afghanistan

Major Taliban attacks were carried out in both the Paktia and Ghazni Provinces on Tuesday, killing at least 74 people, mostly police. The attacks targeted police compounds and other government sites.

The largest attack hit a police compound in the Paktia capital of Gardez, killing 41 people, and wounding 158 people, including 110 civilians. The attack involved two car bombings, and five other attacks with suicide belts.

Among the slain were several civilians, but also the Paktia provincial police chief Toryali Abdiani. The large number of wounded civilians were mostly students there to pick up university ID cards.

Taliban attackers in Ghazni used major armored vehicles full of explosives to attack police near the capital building

Webmaster's Commentary:

I weep at this state of perpetual destruction, chaos, and carnage which has become Afghanistan; this country has not been named "the graveyard of empires' without good reason.

And Sec Def Mattis, please don't tell me that the "surge" is working, not with tactics and numbers like this.

IF Kelly, Mattis, Mc Master, and President Trump had two brain cells to rub together, they would realize the utter hopelessness of this occupation, cut their losses, get the US and NATO troops out of there just as quickly as safely possible, and negotiate with whatever government was left standing in Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

That... would be logical, and infinitely cheaper than what the US government is shelling out for daily military activities in Afghanistan.

But those in the Bowels of Power, in the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika will not allow that to happen, because of the perception that a "loss" in Afghanistan will make the US look militarily weak and incapable.

But our civilian government's not picking its fights intelligently and well, is making the military of this country already appear to be weak and incapable; and it appears that President Trump is going to double down on not picking his fights intelligently, potentially attacking both Iran and North Korea.

Benjamin Netanyahu: 'Israel will not allow' Iranian bases in Syria

Israel says it "will not allow" Iran to build up a long-term military position on its borders, according to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu delivered the warning to Russia, which has been Iran's partner in backing Syrian President Bashar Assad, during a meeting in Tel Aviv on Tuesday. The talks occurred as coalition forces are nearly finished liberating the Islamic State's capital of Raqqa as key world powers try to secure long-term strategic gains out of the Syrian civil war.

"Iran is attempting to establish itself militarily in Syria," Netanyahu tweeted Tuesday after a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. "I told [Shoigu]: Iran needs to understand that Israel will not allow this."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel will do anything it can to start an all out war against Syria and Iran, with the US government sleepwalking into such a war before it realizes what has happened, and that is precisely what Netanyahu wants to engineer, with these moves.

Such a war could well see the US military fighting the Russian military in Syria; and if Israel and the US go into Iran, you will most probably see Russia fighting against US forces here as well.

I have felt that we are on the keening edge of either a total financial breakdown, or world war for quite some time; I don't know which will be first, but the current geopolitical and financial situations cannot stand as they are for much longer.

ISRAEL IS HIDING THAT ITS STATE-OF-ART F-35 WARPLANE WAS HIT BY SYRIAN S-200 MISSILE - REPORTS

According to the available information, the Syrian Defense Forces used a S-200 missile against the Israeli warplane. This Soviet-made missile is the most advanced long range anti-aircraft system opearated by the Syrian military. Even in this case, it’s old-fashioned in terms of the modern warfare. Despite this, the Syrian Defense Ministry said in its statement that government forces responded to the violation of the airspace and “directly hit one of the jets, forcing [Israeli aircraft] to retreat.”
It looks that the Israeli “demonstration of power” during the recent visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has turned into a total failure.

On October 16, Shoigu arrived Israel for meetings with Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The sides were reportedly set to discuss the situation in the region, including Syria, the fight against terrorism as well as military and technical cooperation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I expect the IDF to lie to their collective teeth as to whether or not the F-35 got hit; but unfortunately, the F-35, that Frankenstinian monster created by Lockheed Martin has never worked properly, and is neither an air-worthy, nor agile.

McCain blocks Defense nominees to get Afghanistan war info

The chairman of the influential Senate Armed Services Committee said Tuesday he'll hold up President Donald Trump's nominees for key Defense Department posts until the administration delivers details about its new strategy for the war in Afghanistan.

"If we don't get the information we need, we can't do that," he told reporters.

US ARMY IS PREPARING FOR DECADES OF HYBRID WARS

Released on Monday, the US Army’s Training and Doctrine Command, or TRADOC, drafted a new strategy for how US ground forces will operate, fight, and campaign successfully across multiple domains—space, cyberspace, air, land, maritime—against all enemies in the 2025-2040 timeframe.

The new strategy calls for “super-empowered individuals and small groups”, who are mobile and can simultaneously fight in every domain of warfare, which will replace the conventional large units like today.

Since the end of the Cold War, US and Joint Forces have enjoyed considerable amounts of freedom across all domains. The purpose of this new concept is to prepare the US for an increasing number of actors who challenge US global hegemony.

The reported titled “Multi-Domain Battle: Evolution of Combined Arms for the 21st Century, 2025-2040?, repeats one key point over and over again according to Defense One.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So we are looking at perpetual, global war to maintain economic hegemony, no matter the moral and financial costs to this country?

Beam me up, Scotty; no intelligent life here!!

Scott Adams: The North Korea Reframe

North Korea is building nukes and ICBMs to prevent the United States from attacking. Meanwhile, the United States does not want to attack North Korea. And yet we find ourselves at the brink of nuclear war while not actually having a root problem on which we disagree. They don’t want to be attacked and we don’t want to attack them. Doesn’t that seem solvable?

The problem, as I see it, is psychology more than weaponry. As long as North Korea sees the United States as a military threat, expect North Korea to keep upgrading their nuclear arsenal.

So what would it take to “reframe” the situation from two mortal enemies on the brink of war to something less dangerous?

North Korea wants parity before diplomacy.

US 'not taking sides' between Iraqi forces, Kurds: Trump

Washington is "not taking sides" following clashes between Iraqi forces and the country's Kurds, US President Donald Trump said Monday, as tensions escalate following the autonomous Kurdish region's independence referendum.

Speaking after Iraqi troops and tanks swept across the northern province capturing oil and military targets from the Kurds and seizing the governor's office in Kirkuk city, Trump made clear he was not going to inject himself into the dispute between two US allies in the fight against the Islamic State group.

"We're not taking sides, but we don't like the fact that they're clashing," Trump told journalists. "We've had for many years a very good relationship with the Kurds.

"We've also been on the side of Iraq," he said, "but we're not taking sides in that battle."

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word here; you cannot wiggle out of your complicity, via your foreign policy in both Iraq and Syria, in creating this train wreck; please don't even try here, because it is making you look foolish.

U.S. Evacuation Drills in South Korea Heighten Fears of Military Action

The United States military said on Monday that it would practice evacuating noncombatant Americans out of South Korea in the event of war and other emergencies, as the two allies began a joint naval exercise amid heightened tensions with North Korea.

It has conducted similar evacuation exercises for decades. But with fears rising in the South that the United States might be preparing for military action against the North, the American military issued a rare news release on Monday stressing that the noncombatant evacuation exercise was a “routinely scheduled” drill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were I a non-combatant American in South Korea, understanding that this kind of drill was taking place, in and around the other drills being performed, I would definitely be more than a little antsy also.

Despite Campaign Promises, Arms Shipments to Saudis Skyrocket Under Trump

Before President Donald Trump flouted longstanding tradition by choosing Saudi Arabia as the destination of his first foreign visit as president, where he was lavished with gifts and reportedly struck a record-setting arms deal with the kingdom (after his administration called the CEO of Lockheed Martin to get a cheaper deal for the Saudis); before he took part in the male-only sword dance in Riyadh; before he ramped up support for the widely criticized Saudi-led war in Yemen; before he undermined his own secretary of State’s position by siding with the Saudis in their alarming diplomatic row with the Qataris—before any of this, Trump actually castigated Saudi Arabia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The sad reality here is, no political candidate for President, no matter their protestations on the campaign, is any less bought than their rivals by the corporations which own them, and have been placed into a position of high power to do their bidding.

That is the truth; and in the most profoundly disappointing way possible, President Trump has proven this once again.

Saudi Arabia is one of the wealthiest, but most socially backward countries in the Middle East; the practice of any religion other than the very severe Wahabi interpretation of the Koran, is forbidden; young women are still routinely gentially mutilated; and most of the population lives in abject poverty, while the monied and titled live in a degree of splendor very hard to comprehend by people who have not witnessed it.

President Trump has acted as though he believes that war is "good for business".

The only problem with this, vis a vis Saudi Arabia, is that the Saudi government and military, with US military assistance, are waging a genocidal war against the Yemeni people.

Toddlers and children are routinely killed and maimed in Saudi bombing strikes; together, with US Naval assistance, Saudi military has blockaded Yemeni ports, so no food can get in, leaving children dying from the complications of malnutrition; and now (possibly a weaponized strain of) cholera has taken hold of Yemen, in the worst outbreak in recorded history.

These, folks, are war crimes; and I am not someone who wants to be a citizen of a country complicit in war crimes. Unfortunately, Mike and I are too old, and too broke, to move to a country which doesn't indulge in this massively uncivilised behavour.

Yes, the American Merchants of Death are having a field day, with these sales of bombs, fighters, and bullets to Saudi Arabia, and their bottom lines look incredibly terrific; but at what moral cost to the soul and spirit of this country?!?

This is a question no one in the US government, including President Trump, seems to dare to want to ask, but I have to.

And in terms of President's Trump's new BFF in the Middle East, Prince Salman, who has orchestrated this brutal asault on the Yemeni people; you may have many honorifics which come with your royal title. However, there is one title which will soon haunt you to your grave and beyond: that of The Butcher of Yemen.

Two US partners fighting ISIS are now fighting each other

raqi Security Forces staged an assault on the oil-rich city of Kirkuk on Monday morning, forcing Kurdish Peshmerga forces to withdraw from the area.

Civilians began to flee the area as the assault began. Some reports claim that the Peshmerga units withdrew instead of fighting back, though Kurdish officials reported some exchanges of fire. Government forces targeted Kirkuk's rich oil fields and a military air base. Pictures posted on social media showed massive lines of vehicles attempting to flee the attack.

The Peshmerga command referred to the operation as "a war against the Kurds." Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ordered the assault due to concerns that the country was in danger of "partition." Kurdish fighters seized the city from Islamic State forces three years ago after the Iraqi military failed to push back against the terrorist group.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So what is the US government going to do now?!?

Is there ANYONE in the Bowels of Power in the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika, who can think a scenario through to its logical conclusion?!?

This was confirmed yesterday at antiwar.com in the following article:

Pentagon backs away as US allies perpare to battle in Iraqi Kurdistan

The article goes on to clarify the Pentagon's categorisation of the initial skirmishes as a simple"misunderstanding."

"MISUNDERSTANDING", my ASTROLABE; WE ARE LOOKING AT FULLY FLEDGED CIVIL WAR IN IRAQ RIGHT NOW!

OF COURSE, the Iraqi military wanted Kirkuk back from the Kurds, as it has one of the most oil-rich portions of the Middle East.

I cannot believe the complete insanity of the timing of this referendum by the Kurdish leadership, and what they thought their chances would be of miraculously having this happen, without Iraq fighting back.

I am just shaking my head here, at the Kurdish, Iraqi, and US leadership, or rather the absence thereof.

U.S. drone strike in Pakistan's NW region misses top Haqqani leader but kills commander

A U.S. drone strike in Pakistan Monday evening missed the leader of Pakistan's notorious Haqqani network by minutes but killed roughly twenty other militants, including one top commander of the terrorist group, as they gathered for a meeting, a Pakistani local intelligence official and a local government official confirmed to Circa.

U.S. intelligence officials would not comment on the strike but news reports from the region earlier in the evening suggest only five people were killed in the strike. Intelligence officials in Pakistan said one of the Haqqani's top commanders, Sangeen Wali, was killed during the strike, as reported by other outlets.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Missing Money – $21 Trillion in Undocumentable Adjustments and Counting with Dr. Mark Skidmore

By Catherine Austin Fitts

This week Dr. Mark Skidmore, Morris Chair of State and Local Government and Policy at Michigan State University joins me on the Solari Report to discuss his recent report on what is now $21 trillion in undocumentable adjustments at the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) between 1998 and 2015. I had been using the number $18 trillion. However, Dr. Skidmore and his team have identified another $3 trillion which we have added to the documentation that he and his students have reviewed and provided. Spotlight follow-up: A nurse’s aide plays video games while a veteran dies at Bedford VA hospital

Bill Nutter was very sick. Not only had he just lost his second leg to diabetes, but he also suffered from a condition that could cause his heart to stop beating without warning.

But his daughter, Brigitte Darton, felt reassured because her mother had found a bed for the ailing Vietnam veteran and retired police detective at the Bedford VA Medical Center. He would be under the watchful eyes of the staff at a hospital ranked by the Veterans Administration as one of its best nationwide.

So Darton went on a long-planned family vacation in July 2016, only to get a shocking call from her mother the next day. “Your father passed away,” Carol Nutter said. “He didn’t wake up.”

A doctor eventually told Carol Nutter that a staff member on the night shift had failed to check on him hourly, as she should have.

US Deploys Special Forces "Decapitation" Team To South Korea

Today, the South Korean and U.S. navies kicked off massive combined drills off the coast of the Korean peninsula amid heightened tensions, a training exercise which North Korea has warned may prompt another ballistic missile launch potentially to coincide with the launch of the Chinese 19th Party Congress on October 18. The two allies plan to continue the Maritime Counter Special Operations Exercise (MCSOFEX) through Friday in the East Sea and the Yellow Sea.

As reported over the weekend, the drill involves the U.S. 7th Fleet's aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) and two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers - the USS Stethem (DDG-63) and the USS Mustin (DDG-89). The carrier strike group will train with South Korean warships and other defense assets, such as the Sejong the Great Aegis ship and P-3 Orion anti-submarine aircraft in the East Sea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

While the info reported from Yonhap might be true, why blab it to the world, and lose the element of surprise?!?

Do they think that such a rumor is going to get Kim Jung Un to back down from his defense of his nuclear missile program?!?

Are they trying to provoke him into an attack by letting this info get out?!?

The ultimate reason for such a statement about the decap strike team to get made public like this is...very cloudy and occult right now.

Joint US and South Korean Navy Drills Kick Off Around the Korean Peninsula

The joint week-long navy drills of the US and South Korean fleets have kicked off. About 40 vessels, including the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, are taking part in maneuvers in the waters around the Korean Peninsula.

The naval drills are aimed at exercising a possible strike against the key military sites of Pyongyang in case of an emergency situation on the Korean peninsula, the YTN TV channel said on Monday

US submarines USS Tucson and USS Michigan are also currently in the ports of South Korea, the media said.

On Thursday, the US 7th Fleet issues a statement, saying that US aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and Arleigh Burke-class destroyers USS Stethem and USS Mustin will also take part in the drills.

The exercises come against the backdrop of escalating pressure on Korean peninsula over Pyongyang’s missile and nuclear tests.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, these exercises only last for one week, then the "window" for a false flag/decap strike, is very small.

And that statement in the 2nd paragraph of the article, stating "The naval drills are aimed at exercising a possible strike against the key military sites of Pyongyang in case of an emergency situation on the Korean peninsula, the YTN TV channel said on Monday." is very worrisome.

That "emergency situation" will most likely come, courtesy of a US false flag.

It appears that those in the bowels of power in DC have gone deaf, dumb, and blind, to the Chinese government's statement that if the US attacks first, they will support North Korea.

In light of the fact that Mike and I are sitting on a first-strike target which China can actually target - and obliterate - color us more than a little nervous for the next week or so.

There is one resource I look at on a consistent basis, regarding North
Korea, and that is the website 38north.org: I encourage you to bookmark it.

This research group, under the auspices of John Hopkins University, is a pretty sober and sane evaluation of actions going on in North Korea, regarding their weapons program, and the information is done via satellite tracking.

Unfortunately, the last posed article is datemarked Friday. And on Friday, there was no mention whatsoever of movement of North Korean missiles as a prelude to a launch; and getting missiles to their launch sites does require preparation.

THE EMPIRE COMES HOME COUNTERINSURGENCY, POLICING, AND THE MILITARIZATION OF AMERICA’S CITIES

Brutal Connections

As in Baghdad, so in Baltimore. It’s connected, you see. Scholars, pundits, politicians, most of us in fact like our worlds to remain discretely and comfortably separated. That’s why so few articles, reports, or op-ed columns even think to link police violence at home to our imperial pursuits abroad or the militarization of the policing of urban America to our wars across the Greater Middle East and Africa. I mean, how many profiles of the Black Lives Matter movement even mention America’s 16-year war on terror across huge swaths of the planet? Conversely, can you remember a foreign policy piece that cited Ferguson? I doubt it.

Nonetheless, take a moment to consider the ways in which counterinsurgency abroad and urban policing at home might, in these years, have come to resemble each other and might actually be connected phenomena:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sometimes, one has to wonder if this divisiveness is not actually being "pushed" by elements in the American deep State, to encourage the level of divisiveness and strife necessary for generating a suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the imposition of martial law in this country.

I am part of a Methodist faith community, and I deeply appreciate it for its absolute inclusivity; the gentle, non-coercive education of its kids in their faith tradition; love of community; and love expressed beyond the community as practical acts of kindness throughout Oahu and the world.

But I can absolutely see that in the Imperial "mind set", very much in motion on the mainland, and areas of the world the US has "conquered" to access their resources, you do have elements of degradation; prejudice; the objectification and demonization of "the other"; and massive demoralization of people just trying to survive.

I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like for women in inner city neighborhoods, when their teens go out to be with friends, and never be quite certain that they will come home, or come home alive. That, frankly, would scare the stuffing out of me.

IRAN'S TOP GENERAL MEETS WITH KURDISH PRESIDENT BARZANI AS U.S. NEOCONS PUSH FOR WAR

In an unexpected diplomatic turn of events which underscores the seriousness of escalating tensions between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), the head of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard (which last week were designated by the US as a terrorist organization), General Qassem Soleimani, arrived in Erbil on Sunday and met with Kurdistan regional president Masoud Barzani to discuss the growing crisis at a moment when Kurdish Peshmerga forces are blocking Iraqi Army access to Kirkuk oil fields and military installations.

Major General Qassem Soleimani reports directly to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, and his elite force provides training and weapons to Iraqi paramilitary groups (PMU or Popular Mobilization Units) backing the Baghdad government. The meeting comes just after President Trump announced his new policy against Iran on Friday that includes designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a foreign terrorist organization.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What I am seeing here, from the US State Department, White House, and Pentagon, is foreign policy via dartboard, with no cohesive, top-down overview whatsoever.

And from yesterday, courtesy of zerohedge.com, we have the very much expected headline:

ISRAELI FIGHTER JETS LAUNCH AIR STRIKE ON SYRIAN AIR DEFENSE BATTERY NEAR DAMASCUS

After years of undermining the regime of Syrian leader Bashar al Assad, an effort that has seen Israel countenance ISIS training camps near its borders and launch recurring missile strikes on Syrian territory and its army bases while threatening to bomb Assad's palace, the simmering conflict between the two nations broke out into the open once again overnight.

The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that Israeli Air Force fighters conducted a missile strike against a Syrian base after a missile was fired at Israeli jets on a routine aerial reconnaissance mission in Lebanese airspace, Russia's news agency Sputnik reports. No people were in injured, and the Israeli jets returned safely, but not before attacking an anti-aircraft battery east of the Syrian capital of Damascus. As usual, The IDF blamed the Syrian government for the incident, however, presenting no proof to support the claim. Damascus has yet to comment on the situation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The IDF most probably cannot present "proof" because there is none.

And remember that the attack happened over Lebanese air space; not Syrian air space.

I hope to heck Russian President Putin is working the phones like crazy, to inform his counterpart, Prime Minister Netanyahu, that events like this will no longer be tolerated by the Syrian or Russian airspace.

Michigan Military Base Is Third in State to Test Positive for Contaminated Water

A combat center in northern Michigan has become the third military base in the state to test positive for contaminated groundwater.
Preliminary results came in this week for tests conducted at five locations at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center earlier this year, said Capt. Brian Blumline, a civil engineer for the base. Blumline said all the sites showed elevated levels of perfluorooctanoic acid and perfluorooctyl sulfonate, which are contaminants from firefighting foam that was used in training at the base many years ago. They were considered safe at the time.

For 10 years I have considered that my prediction of a US attack on Iran was the biggest analytical failure in my career. I now hope and pray that it will remain so...

At the risk of deepening what still might be my mistaken prognosis of 2007 I will say that yes, the USA will probably attack Iran. Since there is exactly ZERO chance of Iran caving in to the latest US-Israeli threats, not attacking Iran will now represent a major loss of face and humiliation for Trump and his Neocon masters. Norway plans to send armored unit close to Russian border

Norway said on Friday it planned to send an armored battalion near its arctic border with Russia and buy more tanks and artillery to respond to growing threats.

Defence Minister Ine Eriksen Soereide did not mention Russia as she described her minority government’s defense plan, and said she did not see a specific, current military threat.

But the NATO member and other nearby countries have grown increasingly alarmed about Moscow’s ambitions, particularly following its annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea region in 2014 and its naval and air force maneuvers in the region

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note when I have talked about narrative supporting the US deep State's agenda; Russia is again being charged with "annexing Crimea" by Reuters, which is an absolute, complete lie. Caught you AGAIN, Reuters!

President Obama administ that Washington brokered a deal in Ukraine in support of regime change

Didn't quite get to that factoid, did you Reuters?!?

After the "coup-coup-ca-CHEW" in Kiev, which replaced Yanukovych with Poroshenko, Crimean officials understood that there was no legitimate government in Ukraine. The then held a free and fair referendum, asking their people if they wanted to stay with Ukraine, post-coup, or petition the Russian government to become a member of the Russian Federation. they overwhelmingly voted to petition the Russian government to become part of the Russian Federation:

Crimea applies to be part of Russian Federation after vote to leave Ukraine

THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO ANNEXATION OF CRIMEA WHATSOEVER, FOLKS!!

But you see, these well-documented facts do NOT support the demonization against Russia, leading ultimately toward a war against it; so Reuters just continues to lie about the facts of the matter, because the demonization is engineered to support the agenda of a war against Russia.

You can't lie to thinking Americans any more, Reuters; that is just not going to work. And whatever it is that the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika are paying you, it cannot be enough!!

Iraq Kurds Set Up Defensive Line Around Kirkuk

That Iraqi security forces have managed to advance uncontested in the Kirkuk Province today does not indicate that the Kurdish Peshmerga don’t intend to put up a fight. Quite the contrary, Kurdish officials say the Peshmerga are falling back to a defensive line around the city of Kirkuk itself.

Historically a city with a substantial Kurdish population, oil-rich Kirkuk saw much of its Kurdish population expelled by the Saddam Hussein-era government, trying to bring loyal Sunni Arabs in to ensure control of the city. Kurdish Peshmerga seized the city in 2014, during the ISIS War, and have been moving a lot of Kurds back in. Kurdish leaders have ruled out handing over Kirkuk again.

Now, with Iraq’s central government advancing, parliament authorizing the use of ground troops to retake Kirkuk, thousands of Peshmerga are taking up positions, with Kurdish officials saying the orders are to defend the city at any cost.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With these military activities going on, between the Iraqi troops and the Kurdish Peshmerga, it appears that Iraq is, once more, on the cusp of another horrific civil war.

Trump Is Signaling an Unprecedented Right Turn on Foreign Policy

Every few years – sometimes four, sometimes eight – America’s political mood swings from one pole to another.

It’s a not-uncommon disorder for democracies. Voters get disgusted with one flavor of politics and opt for another. For better or worse, the United States doesn’t have a Baskin-Robbins democracy. So, the vacillations in Americans’ political taste can only pendulum between chocolate and vanilla.

It’s one thing for America to lurch from one end of the spectrum to the other on fiscal matters, the advisability of universal health care, or the economic impact of immigration.

On foreign policy, however, the shifts are not just mystifying to those outside U.S. borders, they’re downright frightening.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortuntately, it appears to me, courtesy of President Trump's "whisperers" (including Kelly; Mattis; Mc Masters; Netanyahu; and Kissinger) we are looking down the double barrels of a war against Iran, which will most probably mean a war with Russia, as Russian politicians and military leaders have vowed to defend it, should it come under attack.

I cannot say precisely when; but the extreme demonization of the Iranian government, and its people, is on full-tilt boogie right now, courtesy of the presstitute corporate media, and that kind of narrative is generally the prelude to war.

Remember: narratives are crafted to fulfill an agenda; right now, the agenda is attempting to convince the American people that they need to sacrifice their sons and daughters on the field of battle to create regime change in Tehran; give the US and Israel access to Iran's resources; and make sure that those resources are only sold in American dollars.

THAT... is what is going on right now.

But understanding how intensely those in the Bowels of Power in DC have lied to the American people to "bring them to heel", in terms of supporting its wars of conquest, I want all of you to think about this very carefully; are the lives of your fathers; moms; family members and friends; your sons and daughters, worth their sacrifice to this agenda, which is patently economic in nature?!?

There is only one intelligent answer to this question, and that is, HELL, NO!!

The Deep State’s Bogus ‘Iranian Threat’

Thursday we identified a permanent fiscal crisis as one of the quadruple witching forces arising in October 2017 which will shatter the global financial bubble. Today the Donald is on the cusp of making the crisis dramatically worse by decertifying the Iranian nuke deal, thereby reinforcing another false narrative that enables the $1 trillion Warfare State to continue bleeding the nation’s fiscal solvency.

In a word, the whole notion that Iran is a national security threat and state sponsor of terrorism is just as bogus as the Russian meddling story or the claim that the chain of events resulting from the coup d’ etat fostered by Washington on the streets of Kiev in February 2014 is evidence of Russian expansionism and aggression.

Likewise, it’s part of the same tissue of lies which led to Washington’s massive, destructive and counterproductive interventions in Syria and Libya – when neither regime posed an iota of threat to the safety and security of the American homeland.

Webmaster's Commentary:

False narratives are those engineered to favor the agendas of the Deep State, which are, these days, generally war-centric activities, in order to create regime changes; expropriate resources to which American companies, and their international subsidiaries, have absolutely no moral right; and to insure those resources are only sold with American approval, and in American dollars; it is just that simple.

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in origin, he was absolutely correct.

This nonsense that Iran poses any real "threat" to Americans is just that; nonsense, engineered to demonize the Iranian government and the Iranian people to the point where the US government believes the American people will be ready to fight in a war against it.

There is only one industrial strength problem here; the US government has lied the American people into numerous previous wars, and the American people understand this.

They are not war-ready, or war-centric; they are war weary, and war-sceptical.

They understand the concept of how false flags are used as a tool of American statescraft, to create wars, and this goes back to our current understanding of how the Japanese were "tricked" into bombing Pearl Harbor, to get this country into World War II by what FDR's administration had done.

Pearl Harbor: Hawaii was surprised: Roosevelt was Not

I have posted an earlier article today about totally some totally unconfirmed reports that Pyongyang was going to test another missile next week.

I am frankly hoping and praying that DC is not planning to have Oahu play the part of the "sacrificial lamb" again by way of a false flag aimed at this island, to be blamed on North Korea, as the "justification" for an all-out attack against it.

US Commander: More Embedded Troops Will Break Afghan Stalemate

Gen. Joseph Votel, the head of Central Command, expressed confidence at the ongoing US escalation in Afghanistan, saying he is “seeing some positive trends” in the war, and thinks the US is on the right track, some 16 years into the war.

Votel cited the increased number of US troops embedded with Afghan forces, nominally as “advisers,” as an important part of the move to “break the stalemate” in Afghanistan, which he was confident would happen.

The “stalemate” conceit is something Pentagon officials have claimed for a long time, explaining that the war isn’t being won because it’s in a stalemate. In reality, US-backed forces have been losing ground for years, and hold less territory than at any time since the 2001 invasion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

General Votel, a word please; we are not leaving Afghanistan because the US government and military are collectively terrified that we are losing yet another war we had no business getting into in the first place.

Afghanistan is not characterized as "the graveyard of empires" for no good reason; the British, and later the Russians found that out.

It is time, sir, for the American miilitary and politicans to cut their losses here, and bring US and NATO troops home as quickly as safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government is left in Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

You do, sir, understand that it was the disagreement on payment for the pipeline rights, coupled with the instability of the Taliban government which got the US military in Afghanistan in the first place, RIGHT?!?

As reported by globalresearch.ca in June, 2010:

B. What Was the Motive for the Invasion? This conclusion is reinforced by reports indicating that the United States had made the decision to invade Afghanistan two months before the 9/11 attacks. At least part of the background to this decision was the United States’ long-time support for UNOCAL’s proposed pipeline, which would transport oil and natural gas from the Caspian Sea region to the Indian Ocean through Afghanistan and Pakistan.15 This project had been stymied through the 1990s because of the civil war that had been going on in Afghanistan since the Soviet withdrawal in 1989. In the mid-1990s, the US government had supported the Taliban with the hope that its military strength would enable it to unify the country and provide a stable government, which could protect the pipeline. By the late 1990s, however, the Clinton administration had given up on the Taliban.16 When the Bush administration came to power, it decided to give the Taliban one last chance. During a four-day meeting in Berlin in July 2001, representatives of the Bush administration insisted that the Taliban must create a government of “national unity” by sharing power with factions friendly to the United States. The US representatives reportedly said: “Either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs.”17 After the Taliban refused this offer, US officials told a former Pakistani foreign secretary that “military action against Afghanistan would go ahead . . . before the snows started falling in Afghanistan, by the middle of October at the latest.”18 And, indeed, given the fact that the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon occurred when they did, the US military was able to mobilize to begin its attack on Afghanistan by October 7. It appears, therefore, that the United States invaded Afghanistan for reasons far different from the official rationale, according to which we were there to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.

General Vogel, your statements here are tantamount to what can best be characterized as "magical thinking"; your troops, and this country, deserve far better than this!!

Pentagon Reviews Plans, Seeking Ways to Confront Iran

According to Pentagon spokesman Maj. Adrian Rankine-Galloway, the US military has begun a review o the “full breadth” of their activities in the Middle East, including troop positioning and cooperation, looking for ways to target Iran.

The comments came after President Trump’s Iran speech, in which he laid out a much more confrontational approach toward the country, and Pentagon officials couched their position as one of supporting the president’s plans.

Maj. Rankine-Galloway said the focus would be on neutralizing Iran’s influence across the region, “particularly its support for terrorist groups and militants.” This suggests the Pentagon looking to pick more fights against Shi’ite forces in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Non fact-based foreign policy seems to be a major specialty of the Trump administration these days.

And I would like to ask Maj. Rankine-Galloway precisely what concrete evidence he has that Iran is supporting alleged "terrorist groups and militants".

If American kids will be ultimately paying the price in blood in a war against Iran, which is the ultimate goal of this US aggression against it, cheerled by Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu and Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman, the American people have a right to understand why their children should be sacrificed in such a war.

Please remember: both countries want regime change in Tehran, but only at the costs of American blood, and American money. President Trump needs to understand this, and soon, before he makes some very horrible miscalculations here.

North Korea readies missile launch ahead of US-South Korea drill: Report

SEOUL: North Korea is believed to be preparing to launch a ballistic missile ahead of an upcoming joint naval drill by the US and South Korea, a news report said Saturday, citing a government source.

The US Navy said Friday that a US aircraft carrier will lead the drill in the coming week, a fresh show of force against North Korea as tensions soar over the hermit state's weapons programme.

The move will likely rile Pyongyang which has previously responded angrily to joint exercises.

The Donga Ilbo daily, quoting a government source, said satellite pictures show ballistic missiles mounted on launchers being transported out of hangars near Pyongyang and in the North Phyongan Province.

US and South Korean military officials suspect the North might be preparing to launch missiles capable of reaching US territory, the newspaper said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, this report is true, there is no other confirmation of the story I can find; other English outlets have simply copied the story verbatim, like www.hindustantimes.com, and www.tribuneindia.com.

And what is the time stamp on the satellite pictures showing "ballistic missiles being transported out of hangars near Pyongyang"?!? How do we know how recent those images are, or if, in fact, they are from earlier missile tests done by North Korea?!?

There is also no confirmation at 38north.org, a very sober research group sponsored by Johns Hopkins University, dedicated to analyzing satellite and other data, to determine what, as precisely as possible, North Korea is doing with its missile program.

But what most deeply disturbs me about the timing of this article, not to mention the "weasel wording", peppering the article with statements like "believed to be": "suspect"; "believed to be preparing" with absolutely zero confimation elsewhere, is that it feels as though this article has been crafted and planted by various "alphabet soup" US agencies as a cover for a "false flag",to insure that this alleged coming "North Korean missile testing" is to be whispered and chatted up as though it were gospel truth, then to be blamed on North Korea as the justification for a US-led war against it.

Unfortunately, in light of the fact that Kim Jung Un doesn't seem to be willing to give those in the bowels of power in the Occupied, Unhinged, States of Amerika the excuse they want for starting a war against North Korea, that excuse may well be created for him. False flags have been part and parcel of American statescraft for decades.

Israeli defense experts warn against dropping Iran nuke deal

JERUSALEM — If President Donald Trump moves to scuttle the landmark 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, Israel’s nationalist government can be expected to be the loudest — and perhaps only — major player to applaud.

But the true picture is more complicated than what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might portray: There is a strong sense among his own security establishment that there are few good alternatives, that the deal has benefited Israel, and that U.S. credibility could be squandered in the turbulent Middle East in ways that could harm Israel itself.

Why U.S. and Saudi Arabia Back Rohingya in Myanmar

Demonstrations, protests and online petitions have appeared worldwide to defend the struggle of the Rohingya people who have been driven from Myanmar into exile. What is of concern is that political forces with no history of or interest in defending the rights of these oppressed people, including the U.S. and Saudi regimes, have joined this effort.

While he was threatening People’s Korea, Iran and Venezuela in his United Nations speech, U.S. President Donald Trump also demanded that the U.N. Security Council take “strong and swift action” to end violence against Myanmar’s Rohingya population.

U.S. government officials, including U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Vice President Mike Pence, have called for immediate action and delivery of humanitarian aid to the Rohingya.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One could not help but note the intense irony of this Administration's policy on Myanmar and their treatment of the Rohingyas; but it reminded me, again, of Karl Marx's observation that all wars are economic in their origin, and how completely correct that assessment remains, even in the 21st century.

In blocking arms to Yemen, Saudi Arabia squeezes a starving population

Late last year, the Kota Nazar, a Singaporean ship with 636 containers of steel, paper, medicine and other goods, set sail to Hodeida, the largest cargo port in war-torn Yemen.

It never got there. Like dozens of other ships carrying food and supplies to Yemen over the past 30 months, the Kota Nazar was stopped by a Saudi Arabian warship blocking Yemen’s ports on the Red Sea.

Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies have been stationing naval forces in and around Yemeni waters since 2015. Western governments approved the show of military force as a way to stop arms reaching Houthi fighters trying to overthrow Yemen’s internationally recognized government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There's one very real fact that Reuters is omitting with great impunity here: the US government and military have been the primary enablers of Saudi's genocide against the Yemeni people, by providing both the weapons and "guidance" for their bombing runs.

Take a good, hard look at the image of that emaciated child its mom is holding up; now, imagine that was your kid. How would you feel, knowing the that it was the OUSSA (The Occupied, Unhinged States of America) contributing to that child's slow death, through malnutrition, by supporting the Saudi military here?!?

Folks, this is what is being done in Yemen with your tax dollars and in your name.

We need to have a quiet, peaceful, Quaker-like conversation, nationally, about this, then peacefully petition the US government to stop our involvement in this genocidal war against Yemen RIGHT THE HECK NOW!!!

Trump Expected to Designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as Terrorists

President Trump will announce his decertification of the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran this week, and the White House has said he will provide details on his overall strategy for Iran going forward.

Today, we may have our first idea what this might entail, as officials are being quoted as saying President Trump is “likely” to designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization.

This would be the first time the US has ever designated a branch of another country’s military as “terrorists,” and would be hugely problematic, signaling growing US hostility toward Iran. Opponents of the move warn it risks provoking an Iranian retaliation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

About what alleged "bad behavour" is President Trump speaking, when he and his cronies can offer utterly no "proof" of such activities, and Iran is documented by the IAEA to be conforming to the P5+1 treaty completely?!?

I will chance a prediciction here, and hope to heaven that I am wrong; the US will be at war against Iran within the year, and the OUSSA (Occupied, Unhinged, Survieilled States of Amerika) will be reinstituting the draft, for both our young men, and our young women in this time frame.

I don't want to be "Mrs. Chicken Little of Oahu" here, but the tempo, and scope, of potential war against both North Korea and Iran, seem to be compounding incrementally.

Note that relatively recently (back in September), President Trump made the accusation that North Korea and Iran were colluding on their mutual weapons program.

Iran colluding with N. Korea on nukes: Trump

This linkage is truly troubling, and telegraphs clearly that he and his "Presidential Whisperers" have some very clear and present plans for attacking both countries militarily, although were I a betting person, I would bet that North Korea will be the first to be targeted in this manner.

I cannot believe that the President's advisors would have any confidence in doing two attempted decap strikes simultaneously, and expecting both of them to succeed.

US Lawmakers, European Nations Scramble to Save Iran Deal From Trump

President Trump is expected to decertify the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran this week, pushing the issue to Congress for a vote. With Iran not having violated the deal, Trump’s efforts to kill it are fueling a lot of reaction at home and abroad.

European nations are looking down the road for ways to save the deal, saying that it would be difficult to keep the deal in place if the US withdraws. The nations are planning to issue a joint statement in support of the deal, and also commit to lobbying Congress on the matter.

Congress was broadly opposed to the deal two years ago, but it’s not clear that’s the case anymore. Heavy Israeli lobbying was making it a very divisive issue back then, and while the lobby still has some opposition to the deal, it’s not clear it’s as vocal, nor necessarily something the EU couldn’t counter with its own lobbying.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Killing this deal, as President Trump is expected to do, will result in three outcomes.

1. IF Iran walks away from the deal, as much as Europe and the countries of the Middle East want it to stay, it will most probably go back to its nuclear development program.

2. If that happens, that will be the "justification" the US and Israel will use as the excuse for a military campaign against it (which Russia will most probably join on the Iranian side).

3. The world will understand that the Occupied, Unhinged, States of Amerika can never be trusted to keep any geopolitical treaty or promises whatsoever, so negotiating with this country is utterly useless, and a complete waste of time.

Trump's unholy Triumverate of "President Whisperers", Kelly, Mc Master, and Mattis, understand this perfectly well, but will not mention this to him, in fear of losing another opportunity to wage war, which seems to be the only answer they collectively have to any geopolitical challenges.

US withdraws from Unesco over 'anti-Israel bias'

The United States has withdrawn from Unesco over what it claims is the organisation's "continuing anti-Israel bias".

The US State Department recently announced its intention to withdraw from the UN's cultural, scientific and educational organisation and become a permanent observer instead.

"This decision was not taken lightly, and reflects US concerns with mounting arrears at Unesco, the need for fundamental reform in the organisation, and continuing anti-Israel bias at Unesco," the State Department said in a statement.

The country hopes to remain a non-member observer state, in order to contribute US opinions and expertise on issues like press freedoms and protecting world heritage, according to the Department. The decision will take effect at the end of 2018.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, in President Trump's world view, no matter how many Palestinian homes are demolished in the West Bank or East Jerusalem; no matter how many Palestinian children are killed or tortured in jail by the IDF in order to exact "confessions" from them; no matter how deeply Israel's "final solution" to the "Palestinian Problem prevents Palestinians from getting desperately needed medical care outside of Gaza; the government of Israel, fronted by their evil incarnate Prime Minister Netanyahu, can do utterly no wrong.

With that being said, and understanding that Netanyahu is one of the most influential of President Trump's "whisperers", look for a US-sponsored war against Iran to begin in the not too distant future, bringing back the draft, and engaging with Russia over Iran, as Russian military and civilian leaders have sworn to protect it, should it come under US attack.

Israel has been cheerleading for decades for regime change in Tehran; what President Trump needs to understand, and sadly, does not, is that Tel Aviv is counting on the costs of such a war to be primarily borne by American blood and American money.

Empire-Destroying Wars Are Coming To America Under Trump

WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small “inside” group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.

NATO LAUNCHES NEW BLACK SEA FORCE TO TARGET RUSSIA

NATO has announced the launching of their multinational Black Sea Force, based in Romania, and including an entire Romanian brigade of 4,000 troops. The force is there to target Russia in the Black Sea region.

Romania insisted the deployment is “not a threat to Russia” and that the purpose of having more troops there to “target” Russia is “peace, not war.” 900 US troops were deployed to Romania to participate in this force.

Since Russia doesn’t border NATO anywhere in the Black Sea region, the force appears to be largely pointless, except for additional grandstanding about NATO’s “readiness” for a fight with “invading” Russian forces, in an invasion that’s been predicted for years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The politicians of Romania appear to be incapable of logic; why in the name of heaven would Russia want to invade Romania, and risk a war with NATO because of doing such a thing?!?

The short answer is, Putin would never do this.

This NATO naval fleet is simply another annoyance and provocation of Russia, which has done absoutely nothing to earn it.

Armed Robots Could Soon Be Seen in Ukraine Conflict

Are we on the verge of entering the age of robotic warfare?

Russian-backed troops in Ukraine could soon be facing armed ground robots in battle. Ukrainian military leaders proudly displayed their Phantom robot at the Association of the U.S. Army annual meeting in Washington, D.C. on Monday, Defense One reports. The robot is currently in an experimental phase, but reportedly could be used in combat in Ukraine as early as next year.

Depending on the terrain, the Phantom (also spelled Fantom) can be outfitted with treads like a tank or wheels. It can also be armed with anti-tank weapons, grenade launchers or machine guns.

The Phantom is also equipped with a backup microwave-communication link, which allows it to continue operating even if its connection with the operator has been jammed or hacked.

Trump Summons Generals To War Room After Hawaii Students Get "In The Event Of A Nuclear Attack" Email

Unfortunately for hundreds of students at the Aloha State school, that is precisely what they got in the inboxes on Monday, and as the NY Daily News notes, the message sent Cold War-style shivers down the spines of those not accustomed to the "duck and cover" drills of the 1950s, which in this day and age of pervasive snowflakyness, would be pretty much everyone.

The House of Saud was horrified by Russia’s successful campaign to prevent regime change in Syria. Moscow was solidifying its alliance with Tehran. Hawks in the Obama administration were imposing on Saudi Arabia a strategy of keeping oil prices down to hurt the Russian economy.

How Puerto Rico can rebuild and become a powerhouse economy

The establishment of an Economic Freedom Zone, would set off an explosion of growth.

Two simple but powerful steps taken by Congress could hasten recovery and redefine the trajectory of the island’s future. First, the United States should assume all of Puerto Rico’s outstanding bond debt. Second, in exchange for debt assumption, the federal government should establish the island as an Economic Freedom Zone. Within a year, these reforms would help rebuild Puerto Rico; within a decade, they could rebuild our conception of the free market in the Western Hemisphere.

Sputnik and RT Under Investigation – Philip Giraldi

Is it news or propaganda? And what about the First Amendment?

News organizations are normally considered to be exempt from the requirements of FARA. The Department of Justice action against the two Russian major media outlets is unprecedented.

Somehow everything keeps coming back around to Russia. In one of its recent initiatives, the Justice Department (DOJ) appears to be attacking the First Amendment as part of the apparent bipartisan program to make Vladimir Putin the fall guy for everything that goes wrong in Washington.

Senior Republican Says Trump Is Steering US Towards World War III

Corker, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, expressed serious doubts about Trump’s ability to lead the country in the right direction in an interview with the New York Times on Sunday.

“He concerns me. He would have to concern anyone who cares about our nation,” Corker said of Trump.

He went on to blame Trump, his fellow party member, for treating the job of running the country like a never-ending reality show, saying that by continually threatening other countries Trump is setting the US “on the path to World War III.”

Iran Vows "Decisive, Crushing" Response If Trump Designates Its Elite Guards As Terrorists

On Sunday, in its most explicit warning to Donald Trump not to revise the terms of the Nuclear Deal - something the US president is expected to do over the coming days - Iran warned the United States that U.S. regional military bases "would be at risk" if further sanctions were passed. "The Americans should know that the Trump government’s stupid behavior with the nuclear deal will be used by the Islamic Republic as an opportunity to move ahead with its missile, regional and conventional defense program," Iran Revolutionary Guards’ commander Mohammad Ali Jafari said, quoted by Reuters. He then threatened US presence in the region, warning that “if America’s new law for sanctions is passed, this country will have to move their regional bases outside the 2,000 km range of Iran’s missiles."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would politely suggest that President Trump take Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qasemi at his word.

The following article is very illuminative in describing what the Iranian government may do, should such a US decree be issued:

Iran to declare US Military a Terrorist organisation in a tit for tat response

On 24 September of this year, President Trump accused Iran of collusion with North Korea on its nuclear program, which is certainly not helping ratchet down the tensions with either country:

President Trump accuses Iran of Colluding with North Korea on its nuclear program

The US decertification is going to happen Sunday 15 October, this coming Sunday; South Korean/US military exercises are going to happen around 20 October.

I am sincerely hoping and praying that the Unholy Quartet of "President Whisperers", consistingof McMaster; Mattis; Kelly; and Netanyahu have not convinced President Trump that he could handle wars against both countries simultaneously and victoriously; such an attack would demonstrate, and create, the failing of the American empire in its last death throes.

US Warship Approaches Korean Peninsula for Drills with South Korea

The USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier along with a guided-missile cruiser and a nuclear-powered submarine are on their way to the Korean Peninsula to prepare for a potential war with North Korea, while Pyongyang reportedly plans new missiles tests.

As of Friday afternoon, the USS Ronald Reagan, with nearly 80 aircraft on board, was in the South China Sea on its way to the shores of US ally South Korea.

The two allies will conduct joint drills to detect, track, and intercept ballistic missiles, in addition to anti-submarine warfare training, Yonhap News agency reported, citing an unnamed South Korean official.

The official said the military exercises will likely be held around October 20.

The drills are to prepare the US military to defend its allies as well as maintain stability in the area, Rear Admiral Marc Dalton, commander of the USS Ronald Reagan’s strike group, told the South China Morning Post.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"...maintain stability", MY ASTROLABE!!

Kim Jung Un is many things; but stupid is not one of them.

He will see this precisely for what it is; an hostile threat to his government, perhaps leading to a military assault against the country.

These exercises are supposed to start 20 October one week from this Friday; but one thing I have not been able to find, on any blog, is an end date to these exercizes, which is pretty unusual, and might well be telling in the context of what this exercize is actually engineered to do.

So I have to speculate; is this exercize to be open ended, and perhaps wind up the "sacrificial lamb" to make it look as though North Korea fired the first shot, even if that first shot may well be a false flag?!?

False flags have been tools of US Statescraft for some time now; so I frankly would not bet against it, were I a betting woman.

Women Against Military Madness, a Partner of ICAN, the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize Winner

Twin Cities-based Women Against Military Madness (WAMM) is honored to be one of 25 U.S. organizations that are partners in the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), which was awarded the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize on October 6. (There are 456 partner groups in ICAN in 101 countries around the world working to abolish nuclear weapons). ICAN was given the award for its international advocacy in helping to bring about the historic UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

In its Nobel acceptance speech, ICAN credited grassroots participation of activists like those in WAMM with recognition of “the tireless efforts of many millions of campaigners and concerned citizens worldwide who, ever since the dawn of the atomic age, have loudly protested nuclear weapons…By harnessing the power of the people, we have worked to bring an end to the most destructive weapons ever created — the only weapon that poses an existential threat to all humanity.”

Trump sends lieutenants to Pakistan with tough message

President Donald Trump will dispatch his top diplomatic and military advisors to Pakistan in the coming weeks, turning up the heat on a nuclear-armed ally accused of harboring terror groups.

Weeks after Trump angrily accused Islamabad of providing safe haven to "agents of chaos," Secretary of State Rex Tillerson plans to depart for Pakistan late this month.

He will be followed by Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, according to US and Pakistani sources.

The one-two punch is designed to drill home Trump's message that Pakistani state support for jihadist groups has to end, according to officials briefed on the visits.

Washington has long been frustrated by Pakistan's willingness to offer cross-border safe havens to Taliban factions and armed Islamist groups fighting US troops and their Afghan allies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The level of corruption in both the Pakistani military and civilian leadership is making for absolute chaos in the US foreign policy decisions regarding that country.

Historically, "regime changes" have come from within the Pakistani military.

The least disruptive thing the US government could do here right now, is to nurture some of the leadership in the Pakistani military who are Western-centric, and see what tools they could give them to ascend to a position of power and influence over governmental decisions, like not providing safe havens for the Taliban or armed Islamist groups, if in fact these charges are true.

But the Pakistani economy is on the ascendent right now In what has become a major victory for the Pakistani economy, U.S.-based Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) reclassified Pakistan as an emerging market after categorizing it among frontier markets for the past nine years.

As the benchmark KSE-100 index skyrocketed 400 points to reach 52,700 level at the open earlier this week, a new all-time high, the MSCI upgraded the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) to Emerging Market status. That paved the way for foreign investors that track the index and have between $1.4 trillion and $1.7 trillion available.Pakistan Economy CPEC

The most important thing which needs to come from this, is to benefit all Pakistanis economically, with greater participation in the country's economic growth, so that turning to radicalism will not be so attractive as it might have been in the past.

The hopelessly corrupt structure of the Eurozone & the Eurogroup

Follow the money. The Eurogroup rules the Eurozone and its 19 member states. The first rule of Eurogroup is: ‘You don’t talk about Eurogroup!’

Part of the problem of criticizing the “pan-European project” is that you have multiple bodies which overlap. And you also have some nations which are part of one, but not another. Or which pay into one body, but abstain from another.

A clear analysis is needed of the most important part of the pan-European project: the Eurozone. The Eurozone is the most important because it controls the money in the world’s largest macro-economy.

Cholera death toll rises to 2,151 in war-torn Yemen: WHO

The death toll of the Cholera epidemic in war-ravaged Yemen has risen to 2,151 since it broke out in late April, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Saturday.
A total of 800,626 people from 22 provinces out of total 23 have been infected, WHO said in a statement distributed to the local media.
The death toll has increased by 24 comparing with the WHO report a week ago, while the suspected cases have risen by 33,102.
Most of the deaths were reported from the northern province of Hajjah, while most of the infected cases were reported from the northwestern port province of Hodeidah on the coast of the Red Sea, both under control of Shiite Houthi rebels.
Last week, the International Committee of the Red Cross expected the epidemic to hit one million by the end of the year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We cannot tell whether this cholera was weaponised; it has, historically been done before.

Cholera has been weaponised

And can anyone tell me, please, where Prince Salman's alleged contribution to the UN to combat cholera in Yemen actually went?!? Because if the rate of infection is this high, it is obvious that the aid never actually got to Yemen.

And here is why, reported at WRH in June of this year:

Marvel drops Northrop Grumman tie-in after Comic Con fan rebellion

The Marvel comic company dropped a partnership with the defense industry giant Northrop Grumman and canceled a launch event scheduled for New York Comic Con on Saturday, after plans for a special series featuring branded superheroes alongside the legendary Avengers characters met with fierce opposition.

Some fans had planned to protest at the Comic Con event, after Marvel announced via social media that it would launch the limited edition series at its booth at the Jacob K Javits Conference Center on the western side of Manhattan. On Saturday, many attendees welcomed the cancellations.

“I think it was a terrible idea to begin with to try to merge these two worlds,” said Nick Greer from Groton, Connecticut, who was dressed as the Marvel character Nick Fury. “They saw the backlash and they shut it down.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Marvel, you did the absolutely morally correct thing here; colluding with an American Merchant of Death, which makes weapons which kill and maim, many times completely innocent victims (like the deaths of Yemeni infants and, courtesy of Saudi air strikes) is a form of "normalizing" war and destruction for younger, impressionable kids, many of whom make up the fan base for Marvel films and merchandising.

I am very glad you rethought this: Good on ya!! :-)

US Bomb Tests and Bidding Wars Herald New (Unlawful) $1.5 Trillion Nuclear Weapons Complex

While much of the world pursues the abolition of nuclear weapons – embraced by the adoption July 7 by 122 nations of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons – the militarized Trump White House is pursuing plans for a trillion-dollar rebuild of the entire US nuclear weapons complex. The enormous, extravagant program is designed to produce 80 new nuclear warheads every year, including three new warhead types, a new $20 billion nuclear-armed Long Range Standoff (LRSO) weapon, a new $12 billion B61 nuclear gravity bomb, a new fleet of nuclear-armed submarines, and a new $100 billion intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) system.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This last paragraph's characterisation of the Trump administration concerns me very deeply.

As a Christian Pacifist Activist, I am constantly, peacefully and rationally, exhorting my government to resolve its geopolitical issues with moral, hard-won negotiations rather than bombs and bullets.

It unfortunately feels to me, and to many peole who think the way I do, that I am absolutely on the right side of an absolutely losing proposition with Trump's administration.

I am thinking, very intensely now, about the speculation positied by Albert Einstein, when he said "“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”, indicating that the world would be brought back to the stone age, courtesy of a massive nuclear exchange.

And with all the nuclear armed countries at this point in this world's history, including India; Pakistan; UK; the US; China; Russia; and Israel, his comments may well prove prophetic here.

The Chinese Dream in Peril: Xi Jinping and the Korean Crisis

With tensions escalating rapidly again on the Korean peninsula, the attention of the world invariably has returned to the question of whether or not the solution to the crisis lies in Beijing. After months of continuing missile tests by North Korea despite sanctions and global condemnation, Kim Jong-un’s regime claims to have tested a hydrogen bomb and once again launched an intercontinental ballistic missile over Japan. North Korea’s march toward wielding a nuclear arsenal against its neighbors and far off enemies, like the United States, is nearing completion. For Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), North Korea’s obstinate drive toward becoming a nuclear force has dealt Beijing a critical challenge at a moment when the party would prefer to focus on other matters seen as as essential to its rise as a regional and world power.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS MAG ADVANCES DOMESTIC TERRORISM TO REMOVE ALTERNATIVE MEDIA

Is Foreign Affairs magazine advancing “domestic terrorism” because it could help remove alternative media, and even jail editors and writers or worse. The recent article is entitled “Should We Treat Domestic Terrorists the Way We Treat ISIS? What Works—and What Doesn't.” It begins as follows:

The mass shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday night has again raised fears about terrorism. There’s much we don’t yet know. The Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed the attack, but the FBI claims that there is no international terrorism link. The attacker, Stephen Paddock, was 64 years old and white, fitting a stereotype of a right-wing terrorist more than a jihadist one. And he may just be a crazy nut. But regardless of Paddock’s particular pathology, the situation highlights how the United States treats similar forms of violence differently depending on the nature of the perpetrator.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When any government criminalises and suppresses the statement of facts, that government is sliding down a very slippery slope into fascism.

Those in the Deep State of the Occupied Unhinged Surveilled States of Amerika, have many agendas, and those agendas are nearly almost, ultimately, economic in nature. And the Deep State is certainly not above the employment of terrorism, both domestically, and internationally, to achieve those agendas. These are then partnered with narratives, which are engineered to be perceived as "something that could plausibly be real" to the average American citizen, then regurgitated by their faithful presstitutes as though these narratives were absolute gospel, when in, fact, these narratives turn out to be absolute, outright lies.

Narrative/Lie: 9/11 was created by foreign terrorists in New York. Reality:9/11 was an Inside Job, aided and abetted by Mossad Intelligence

Narrative/Lie: Afghanistan harbored the terrorist Bin Laden, and refused to give him up to Americans post 9/11, so the country had to be invaded. Reality: the US government wanted the rights to the Afghani pipelines, but the Taliban government couldn't produce the "unity government" with which to support the pipelines, so the US government invaded.

When the Bush administration came to power, it decided to give the Taliban one last chance. During a four-day meeting in Berlin in July 2001, representatives of the Bush administration insisted that the Taliban must create a government of “national unity” by sharing power with factions friendly to the United States. The US representatives reportedly said: “Either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs.”

After the Taliban refused this offer, US officials told a former Pakistani foreign secretary that “military action against Afghanistan would go ahead . . . before the snows started falling in Afghanistan, by the middle of October at the latest.”18 And, indeed, given the fact that the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon occurred when they did, the US military was able to mobilize to begin its attack on Afghanistan by October 7

Narrative/Lie: Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, which is why the US government was compelled to invade it. Reality: Hussein never had weapons of mass destruction. Iraq's Saddam Hussein never had weapons of mass destructionThe invasion was about controlling Iraq's oil, and insuring that Iraq's oil was only sold in US dollars; and that is precisely the state of affairs in Iraq today, no matter the costs in blood and money.

Narrative/Lie: Libya's Moamar Ghadaffi was oppressing his own people, therefore his government had to be overthrown. Reality: Hillary emails confirm US and NATO destroyed Libya over gold-backed currency

This brings us to Russia, and the current smear campaign of demonization against it. Smear campaigns (read: narratives to forward agendas) are frequently the preludes to wars.

Please understand that there are those in the bowels of power in the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of America who want to see this country nuke both Russia and China, to prevent the continued rise of the ruble and yuan against the US dollar.

As reported by Dr. Paul Craig Roberts back in April of this year:

Washington plans to Nuke Russia and China

On Thursday, the Wall Street Jerks put out an article about Russia's allegedly having hacked the NSA.

Russian Hackers Roportedly Stole NSA Data But in reading the article, there was no sourcing; no who/what/where/how/and why to be found. Just another accusation with which to demonize Russia, with utterly no provable foundation in fact.

As a Christian pacifist activist, who is constantly exhorting her government to resolve its geopolitical differences with moral, hard-won negotiations, I will go on record here as not being pro-Russian; I am pro my government not being "stuck on stupid" in resolving its issues with other countries only through wars.

That being said, I am respectfully asking those in the Bowels of Power in this country to sit back, take a deep breath, (maybe swallowing some calcium magnesium with some organic juice), and take stock of just how close the precipice of World War III you are taking the American people.

North Korea?!? More war, potentially with China. Syria?!? More combat against Russian and Syrian military here, risking war with Russia. Iran?!? A military answer here would most likely lead to Russian intervention, meaning war with Russia.

War with Russia and/or China would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing this government could do right now, and that's a fact. Unfortunately, this is absolutely no guarantee that this government won't do just that, and this concerns and alarms me greatly.

Trump: I’ll give peace ‘a shot’ before moving US embassy to Jerusalem

President Trump said he would like to attempt to establish peace between the Israel and Palestine before moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“I want to give that a shot before I even think about moving the embassy to Jerusalem,” Trump told former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) on the Trinity Broadcasting Network's "Huckabee" in an interview that aired on Saturday.

“If we can make peace between the Palestinians and Israel, I think it’ll lead to ultimately peace in the Middle East, which has to happen,” he continued.
Trump renewed a waiver last August to keep the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv temporarily, despite promising on the 2016 campaign trail that he would move it to Jerusalem.

The location of the embassy has always been a point of contention between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

Israelis see Jerusalem as its capital, however Palestinian want East Jerusalem to be the capital of what they hope will be a future, independent state.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a double Picard face-palm, upon reading this.

So Mr. President, a word, please.

There are times, for such a bright man, when your naivete just astounds me to the point of utter and complete amazement.

What your BFF, Netanyahu, and Tel Aviv, want, is not peace with the Palestinians, but territory, and by any means necessary; and that, sir, is why since the country's founding in 1948, they have never declared the extent of their borders.

The Zionist vision for Israel, called Eratz Israel, in Hebrew, has been completely consistent, and that is a country which extends from the Nile to the Euphates. This is how it looks on a map:

Map: Eretz Israel

Notice how many bits of neighboring countries whose borders are obliterated by such an extensive expansion of Israel.

Mr. President, please: a good national leader picks fights he understands he can win; a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians is not one of them, as the goals here are completely different. Even an "Art of the Deal" person, like yourself, cannot fix this.

Palestinians have, for decades, wanted their own country, with full UN recognition, and to simply live peacefully.

Unfortunately, however, Israel's "Final Solution" for their "Palestinian problem" is comprised of the elements of serial genocide; a brisk annexation of Palestinian homes and lands in the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, displacing Palestinians who had lived on those places for generations; indefinite imprisonment of Palestinian prisoners without charge; the burning of Palestinian crops; and the developing of Jewish-only settlements which prevent a contiguous state of Palestine to exist.

FLASHBACK - ‘God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong Un,’ evangelical adviser says

Texas megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress, one of President Trump’s evangelical advisers who preached the morning of his inauguration, has released a statement saying the president has the moral authority to “take out” North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“When it comes to how we should deal with evildoers, the Bible, in the book of Romans, is very clear: God has endowed rulers full power to use whatever means necessary — including war — to stop evil,” Jeffress said. “In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong Un.”

LONGEST WAR IN US HISTORY TURNS 16 TODAY – THOUSANDS DEAD, NO END IN SIGHT & IT’S GETTING WORSE

On this day 16 years ago, less than one month after 9/11, President George W. Bush delivered a televised address from the White House announcing the beginning of the Afghanistan War.

“On my orders, the United States military has begun strikes against al Qaeda terrorist training camps and military installations of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan,” he said.

What Bush did not say was the fact that the War in Afghanistan would become the longest war in United States history. Thousands of American lives and billions of taxpayer dollars would be wasted at the expense of the U.S. war machine, and the “War on Terrorism” would only create more terrorism as a result.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in their origin, he was - and continues to be- from a rational point of view, completely correct.

The war in Afghanistan was never about the then Afghan government not giving up Osama Bin Laden, the labeled terrorist allegedly ultimately responsible for 9/11.

And please remember: President Bush had business ties to the Bin Laden Family through the scandalous BBCI, in the creation of Arbusto Energy.

President Bush and the bin Laden family have been connected through dubious business deals since 1977, when Salem, the head of the bin Laden family business, one of the biggest construction companies in the world, invested in Bush's start-up oil company, Arbusto Energy, Inc. James R. Bath, a friend and neighbor, was used to funnel money from Osama bin Laden's brother, Salem bin Laden, to set up George W. Bush in the oil business, according to The Wall Street Journal and other reputable sources. Through a tangled web of Saudi multi-millionaires, Texas oilmen, and the infamous Bank of Credit and Commerce International, Bush was financially linked with the bin Laden family until Salem met an untimely end in a freak flying accident near San Antonio in 1988. The infamous BCCI was shut down in 1991 with some $10 billion in losses.

So one has to ask: did the "freak flying accident" which killed Salem Bin Laden a true "accident", or "wet work" (i.e., an assassination) to get him out of the way because he knew too much about the financial world of the Bush family?!? Understanding, as we now do, that the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika collectively use assassinations as a routine tool of statescraft, it certainly is not beyond the realm of possibility.

But getting back to Afghanistan, and the reason the OUSSA is still there; it's about controlling the pipelines; controlling the embarassment of riches in minerals, fattening the bottom line of the military-industrial complex and making absolutely certain that the opium continues to flow, for those OUSSA alphabet-soup agencies' off the shelf operations over which Congress has utterly zero oversight.

These are the reasons that NATO and the US are still occupying Afghanistan; the reasons, most likely, they will never leave Afghanistan, no matter how many of our service members get killed and maimed for life, not to mention the innocent Afghanis who will suffer the same fates.

This war has never been about "protecting America's way of life"; honor; bringing democracy to the Afghani people: it is all about the money, and the corporations who profit from this war, period, end of discussion.

Identities of Three US Green Berets Killed in Niger Released, Fourth Found Dead

On Wednesday, ten to 12 Green Berets were accompanying a patrol of Nigerien forces about 120 miles north of the capital city of Niamey. They came within 20 miles of the Mali border, whereupon approximately 40-50 assailants attacked. AQIM is one of several militant groups currently in revolt against the Malian government.

The ambush was successful, killing four Green Berets and five Nigerien troops. Gunships from France, which runs their own military operations in Mali, arrived at the scene and dispersed the ambushers. Three Green Beret deaths were confirmed by the Pentagon almost immediately, with the fourth announced on Friday.

US will lose the trade war with China – Jim Rogers

If they put sanctions on China in a big way, it brings the whole world economy down.

When the Government Declared War on the First Amendment

It all started with President Woodrow Wilson. On April 2, 1917, Wilson urged the nation into battle against Germany in order to "make the world safe for democracy." But the president also set his sights on certain enemies located much closer to home. "Millions of men and women of German birth and native sympathy...live among us," Wilson observed. "If there should be disloyalty, it will be dealt with with a firm hand of repression."

That firm hand came in the form of the Espionage Act, which Congress passed in June 1917 and Wilson eagerly signed into law. Among other things, the act made it illegal to "convey information with intent to interfere with the operation or success of the armed forces of the United States or to promote the success of its enemies." That sweeping language effectively criminalized most forms of anti-war speech. If convicted of obstructing the war effort, the guilty party faced up to $10,000 in fines and up to 20 years in prison.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Should America be going to war with any of its "enemies du jour" in the 21st century, look for even more draconian repressions on freedom of speech, and the outright criminalisation of the right to speak logically and peacefully about Federal governmental decisions with which you may not agree.

Jimmy Carter: What I’ve learned from North Korea’s leaders

Over more than 20 years, I have spent many hours in discussions with top North Korean officials and private citizens during visits to Pyongyang and to the countryside. I found Kim Il Sung (their “Great Leader”), Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, and other leaders to be both completely rational and dedicated to the preservation of their regime.

What the officials have always demanded is direct talks with the United States, leading to a permanent peace treaty to replace the still-prevailing 1953 cease-fire that has failed to end the Korean conflict. They want an end to sanctions, a guarantee that there will be no military attack on a peaceful North Korea, and eventual normal relations between their country and the international community.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What President Carter is saying, is completely logical.

But on this issue, President Trump has backed himself into a rather intense geopolitical corner, and it's going to be a hard one to get out of.

All during his campaign, Trump swore that he would never allow North Korea to develop nuclear weapons; at this point, it is very likely that North Korea is either close to, or has developed, nuclear weapons.

They are also developing missles which can fly a longer trajectory than ever before, and are coming close to staging accurately, which means that they can hit at what they are aiming.

The following article is a very interesting history about a 72 year relationship between North Korea and the US government, and how the US broke its promises to North Korea, beginning in the Bush era:

What is Really Behind North Korea's nuclear provocations.

I absolutely agree with Preisident Carter, that what is desperately needed here, rather than bullets or bombs flying, is a quiet, good-faith conversation between the US; North Korea; South Korea; and Japan, to replace the armistice with an iron clad peace treaty, which guarantees open, unsanctioned trade; a guarantee of non-intervention by the US militarily; and the quid pro quo would be the cessation of North Korea's nuclear program.

Unfortunately, however, President Trump has dug his own hole on this, and has stepped up the rhetoric, doubling down on threats aganst North Korea.

And now with the coming US decertification of the P5+1 treaty, Kim Jung Un, and the world, will recognise that the US government is pathologically incapable of respecting its treaties, and keeping its geopolitical promises.

I am concerned that shooting war is coming here, as completely ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid as the justification for that war might be.

Chinese officials have stated that if the US military strikes the first blow, it will come to North Korea's defense; so from the American Military's perspective, it must appear that North Korea struck first.

One can never predict exact timing on such an event, but the Radioactive USS Ronald Regan is steaming through the South China Seas, to dock in South Korea for war games, and on the 10th of October, comes a very important national holiday for North Korea.

Kim Jong Un likes to pair national holidays with his rocket launches.

I would therefore suggest that we might be looking at a rocket launch which (courtesy of a US false flag) might go horribly wrong, and hit an American asset, or ally, very hard.

This, then, would be the "justification" for a US Alliance attack against North Korea, and the estimates for lives lost in such an operation, are staggering.

Kaspersky Lab Denies WSJ Allegations of Hacking NSA

Consistently at or near the top of security software maker rankings, Russian-based Kaspersky Lab continues to attract suspicion, based on little to no evidence, of being a “threat” to US national security.

This week, the allegations came out of the Wall Street Journal, which claimed that an NSA contractor who ran Kaspersky antivirus on his computer was hacked, and immediately concluded that Kaspersky hacked him to get NSA data for the Russian government.

Kaspersky founder Eugene Kaspersky mocked the claim as “like the script of a C movie.” He offered an alternate explanation for the data loss, that the NSA tools on the computer were correctly identified as new forms of malware by Kaspersky’s software.

The supposition that being a security software company and Russia-based makes them tantamount to Russian spies has been enough of an excuse for US officials to increasingly demonize the company, despite the lack of real evidence of wrongdoing, let alone culpability.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What the Wall Street Jerks' article provided was absolutely no tangible proof of their allegations whatsoever, and there was utterly no sourcing to these allegations.

Mike and I have used Kaspersky security products, and consider them excellent; but of course, we're not the ones desperately trying to demonize Russia toward the goal of starting a shooting war against it!!

Trump Threatens as Iran Says Missile Program Not Up for Negotiation

Following up on yesterday’s report that President Trump is going to decertify the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran on the grounds it is “not in America’s interests,” he is stepping up threats against Iran, promising a “broad strategy” to punish Iran for all of its bad behavior.

Decertification would lead to a vote in Congress, which Trump appears to believe will lead to the US withdrawing from the P5+1. This isn’t going to take place until next week, however, which has fueled speculation Iran might be coerced into making new concessions to placate him.

Iran, however, says that this is not the case. Noting that they’re complying with the nuclear deal as it is, Iran has denied reports they’d be willing to negotiate on their conventional missile program, saying they believe demands for more concessions are a violation of the UN Security Council resolution on the nuclear deal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I mentioned yesterday, a US decertification of the P5+1 deal, would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid decision the Trump administration could make, at this point.

Of course, with President Whisperer, Israel's Benyamin Netanyahu constantly cheerleading for "regime change" in Tehran, the purpose of the decertification is to leave the US open to attempt a regime change by force.

I would like to strongly caution President Trump that Israel fully expects the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika to do this for him, but primarily at the costs of American blood and American money.

And Mr. President, I would like to politely remind you that Russian diplomats and chief military officers have consistently stated, that if Iran is attacked, Russia will come to its aid miilitarily.

Do you, sir, really want a war with Russia over regime change in Tehran?!?

I would suggest, sir, that if Mattis, McMaster and Kelly are being painfully honest with you, they will urge extreme caution, and tell you to your face that this is one hell of a lousy option, no matter how much Netanyahu screams at you on the phone that you MUST do it, to destroy its existential enemy, Iran.

I would also like to politely remind you, that Iran has not initiated a war in over 200 years.

Saudis Reject UN Blacklisting Over Yemen Child Deaths

Saudi Arabia is complaining on Friday after winding up on the UN blacklist for violence against children in warzones related to their attacks on Yemen. The report blamed the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen for at least 683 child casualties in 2016.

Saudi officials complained their inclusion was “misleading,” but offered no evidence to the contrary. Saudi Ambassador Abdallah al-Mouallimi insists that Saudi warplanes exercise the “maximum degree of care.”

Which is a claim that is unlikely to convince anybody. Since attacking Yemen in 2015, the Saudis have been implicated in a massive number of civilian deaths in airstrikes against populated areas. Repeated attacks against schools, oftentimes repeatedly hitting the same schools multiple times, underscores the risk children are under during the air war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To Saudi Prince Salman, the entire House of Saud, and Saudi Diplomats; your rebuttal has utterly zero basis in fact, and you know it.

And Prince Salman, a word, please; I don't know how many honorific titles you carry, by your relationship to the House of Saud.

However, there is one title which will follow you beyond the grave, and make you the most detested, reviled Saudi monarch of the 21st century in your country, and beyond: that of the Butcher of Yemen.

And sir, the entire world knows; you have earned that title!!

U.S. approves possible $15 billion sale of THAAD missiles to Saudi Arabia

The U.S. State Department has approved the possible sale of a THAAD anti-missile defense system to Saudi Arabia at an estimated cost of $15 billion, the Pentagon said on Friday, citing Iran among regional threats.

The approval opens the way for Saudi Arabia to purchase 44 Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) launchers and 360 missiles, as well as fire control stations and radars.

“This sale furthers U.S. national security and foreign policy interests, and supports the long-term security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region in the face of Iranian and other regional threats,” the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation agency said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Of course, the Pentagon is keen to close this deal, and quickly, as Saudi Arabia's King just inked a deal with Russia for their fighter-killer s-400.

Saudi Arabia agrees deal for Russian S400 missile defense systems

The Pentagon clearly understands that it may well be the last US big weapons deal with Saudi Arabia for quite some time, due to the mediocracy, and extravagant costs, of US weapons systems, as opposed to huge strides in both Russian and Chinese weapons systems which come at significantly less expense than do their US competitors.

And as to the alleged "Iranian threat"; Sec Def Mattis, a short, pop quiz, please; when, in the last 200 years, has Iran initiated a war?!?

Sir, I hate to burst your bubble on this, but the short answer is, NEVER!!

US BOOSTS DEFENSE SPENDING – TO WHAT END?

One of Donald Trump’s campaign promises was the pledge to “rebuild the US military”, and it is one of the few of his initiatives that appears to enjoy broad bipartisan support. The US Senate’s version of the defense appropriations bill provides for what amounts to a dramatic 10% increase in defense spending, or more than even the Trump Administration requested. The bill passed with a strong bipartisan majority and with hardly any debate. There is no reason to expect the House of Representatives will not follow suit. This naturally raises the question: what is behind the sudden interest in boosting US defense spending, after a decade and a half of continuous war?

REVEALED: U.S. TESTED CARCINOGENIC CHEMICALS ON UNKNOWING CANADIAN CIVILIANS DURING THE COLD WAR

The U.S. Army secretly tested carcinogenic chemicals on unknowing residents of Canada in Winnipeg and Alberta during the Cold War in testing linked to weaponry involving radioactive ingredients meant to attack the Soviet Union, according to classified documents revealed in a new book Behind the Fog: How the U.S. Cold War Radiological Weapons Program Exposed Innocent Americans by Lisa Martino-Taylor, an associate professor of sociology at St. Louis Community College.

The incidents occurred between July 9, 1953 and Aug 1, 1953 when they sprayed six kilograms of zinc cadmium sulfide onto unsuspecting citizens of Winnipeg from U.S. Army planes. The Army then returned 11 years later in 1964 and repeated the experiments in other parts of Canada including Suffield, Alta. and Medicine Hat, Alta., according to Martino-Taylor, National Post reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, neither the US nor Candian government gave a rat's anus about to what happend to the people exposed; they were "simply expendable" in the name of a scientific experiment.

Holy Tasteless! New Batman Video Game Depicts Murdered Russian Diplomat’s Body

The newest video game from developer Telltale Games’ series “Batman: The Enemy Within” features a photo of the corpse of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov, who was assassinated in December 2016.

Karlov, a veteran diplomat who at one point served as the director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department of Consular Affairs (which provides passport and visa services), was killed during a scheduled speech at an art exhibition celebrating Turkish-Russian friendship. He was shot in the back by Mevlüt Mert Alt?nta?, a Turkish police officer who yelled "Allahu Akbar" and "Do not forget Aleppo, do not forget Syria" before being gunned down himself by Turkish security forces.

Footage and photos of Altintas standing over Karlov's body, shouting and brandishing his pistol, widely circulated online. One picture, taken by Hasam Kilic, seems to have found its way into an unexpected place: a crime scene being investigated by Batman in a video game.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Military/intelligence assets work hand in hand with the video/computer game industry every day.

So I have to wonder if the founders of this company, Dan Connors, Kevin Bruner and Troy Molander, are, perhaps, covert CIA/US military assets, who understand that if you are going to demonize a country (Let's say, for the sake of explanation, Russia) to your population, particularly to the young people who will be ultimately drafted to fight that country, you start with the young men, who are the primary players of computer games, to demonize that country which is ultimately going to be the recipient of an American military attack.

This has been rather recently released, so I wonder about the timing of an actual war with Russia, vis a vis the release of this video game, and how the owners of Telltale bet on the release of this game to continue the demonization in which the corporate presstitutes are collaborating so cheerfully.

Iran, Iraq, And Turkey Unite To Block Kurdish Oil Exports

Iraq, Iran, and Turkey are taking a unified stance against Kurdistan’s oil sector after the region elected to seek independence from Baghdad in a referendum in September, according to a new report by Rudaw.

“In the case of northern Iraq; Iran, Iraq and Turkey will form a tripartite mechanism and will decide on shutting down the oil,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said after a meeting with leaders from the other two nations on Thursday.

A day before the vote, the Iraqi central government issued a statement calling on “neighboring countries and countries of the world” to stop buying crude oil directly from Kurdistan and only deal with Baghdad.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How, practically, are Iran, Turkey, and Iraq going to do this, without literally blowing up the oil rigs?!?

And please remember: Russia has just signed off on an independent deal with Kurdistan regarding its oil; these countries have better tread very softly on any Russian resolved to see an independent Kurdistan happen.

The U.S. Congress Is Trying to Give the F-35 a Pass for All Its Problems

The $700-billion defense authorization bill for 2018 contains a number of provisions that are likely to increase the risk of cost overruns for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program and undermine the ability of Pentagon officials and Congress to assess the combat suitability of new weapon systems in the future.

One of the central debates for the F-35 program is whether it will be more combat-capable than the systems it is replacing. The most controversial of these claims has been that the F-35 would be an acceptable close air support replacement for the A-10 — which even Air Force officials eventually backed away from.

Webmaster's Commentary:

WOW, I wonder how much, per Congressional representative, did Lockheed Martin have to pay for the language in this Defense Authorization Bill?!?

It must have cost them a bundle.

Venezuela raises possibility of Russian military help to counter US

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Wednesday raised the possibility of getting military support from Russia to boost its defensive capabilities after President Donald Trump threatened to use force against the South American nation.

Speaking at an energy forum in Moscow, Maduro said his administration will discuss increased military cooperation with the Russian government during his visit this week.

“I am sure, even if we do not ask, we will be given even more support to boost Venezuela’s defense capacity and sovereignty," Maduro said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A war with Russia over Venezuela's bounteous oil reserves?!?

PLEASE, GOD, NO!!!!

Slain US Troops Were Told Niger Area Was ‘Low-Risk’

US “training” operations in Niger took a turn for the deadly on Wednesday, when three US soldiers were killed, and two others wounded in an ambush by unspecified “enemies” near the Niger-Mali border. These are the first US combat deaths recorded in Niger, with another US soldier killed in a vehicle accident earlier this year.

The incident is raising a lot of questions, however, because US commanders had been telling everyone involved that the patrols were “low risk” and that there was little hostile activity in the area.

Now officials are trying to figure out what happened, and whether patrols became so predictable that the troops in the country made themselves a target in the area. For now, even who carried out the attack is subject to speculation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These troops were lied to, about the risk factor of their deployment here: their COs should have been much more forthright with them, about the real dangers they were facing.

National armies are the "hired guns" of major corporations, colluding with the governments which are their willing "errand boys", in order to expropriate foreign natural resources, to which they have no moral right, and make sure that those resources are only sold in specific currencies.

This is precisely what the US government is looking to do in Niger.

Natural resources: uranium, coal, iron ore, tin, phosphates, gold, molybdenum, gypsum, salt, petroleum

Definition: This entry lists a country's mineral, petroleum, hydropower, and other resources of commercial importance.

When Karl Marx made the observation that "All wars are economic in nature", the guy was absolutely correct.

Trump Will Declare Iran Nuclear Deal ‘Not in the National Interest’

Officials familiar with the situation say that President Trump is intending to “decertify” the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran ahead of the October 15 deadline. With no evidence Iran is violating the deal in any way, he is going to instead claim it is just “not in the national interest of the United States” to honor the deal’s terms.

This has much the same effect as falsely claiming Iran to be in violation, as it would put the nuclear deal up for a vote in Congress. Though Congress has long expressed opposition to the deal, it’s likely to be controversial to cancel it years after its implementation for literally no reason.

President Trump is to give a speech surrounding the matter, expected next Thursday, and will lay out a broad strategy of confronting Iran, trying to blame them for all Middle East instability and terrorism. This would both be aimed at justifying the decertification, and setting the stage for another flurry of sanctions and threats to attack Iran

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please: walking away from the P5+1 deal will probably go down as the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid decision ever to be made by your administration so far.

To blame Iran for the instability in the Middle East, when it is the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of America which are generally responsible for creating the arc of instability (not to mention insanity) in the Middle East, moving Westward toward Russia, and Eastward toward China and Asia, appears, to most sane observers, to typify the behaviour here as that of the head of an empire which is on the desperate, utter brink of collapse.

Iran, as you should know, has not started a war in over 200 year; the same can hardly be said for either Israel, or the US, unfortunately.

IF you force the US to walk away from this deal, do you think that any leader of any country on the planet will believe that the US government can ever negotiate in good faith again?!? Mr. President, the short answer is, HELL, no!!

Walking away from this deal will probably translate into Iran getting back into their nuclear weapons program, because, like North Korea's Kim Jung Un, President Rouhani will realize that the only way to avoid an outright invasion from the US is to have a credible deterrent against it.

The P5+1 program is working; and the guys and gals at the IAEA have continued to certify, since the deal went into effect, that Iran is complying.

And Mr. President, I need to ask: what country's "national interests" are "injured" by the US complying with the deal?!?

You need to take a good, careful look at your key advisors, that unholy triumverate of "president whisperers" consisting of Kelly, Mattis, and Mc Master, who seem to believe that the only solutions to US geopolitical problem are more wars, and wars only; but there is a fourth, and we both know that is one Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu.

I feel compelled to strongly caution you that although Netanyahu and Tel Aviv have cheerled for regime change in Tehran for decades, they fully expect that outcome to be purchased primarily at the costs of American blood, and America money.

Also, sir, there is that "6000 lb gorilla in the living room" snoozing on the Bosendorfer on the issue of an attack against Iran; the name of the 6000 lb Gorilla is Russia. Russian military and civilian politicians have sworn, consistently, that should Iran be attacked militarily, Russia will come to its aid.

Mr. President, this country is broke; its military does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing; or the money to successfully engage militarily with the Russians in Iran.

I therefore respectfully, and sincerely, ask you to reconsider this decertification; this decision will, unfortunately, most likely, lead this country into a world war.

UN Blacklists Saudi Coalition for Killing Children in Yemen

In keeping with a draft copy of the report leaked early this week, the annual UN blacklist for harming children in armed conflict has named the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen as a major violator of the rights of children, noting that their war efforts have killed or injured 683 Yemeni children in 2016, and bombed dozens of schools and hospitals.

The report confirmed that Saudi actions “objectively led to” 683 child casualties, and 38 verified incidents, They listed al-Qaeda, ISIS, and the Shi’ite Houthi movement as well, though all had lower casualty counts.

Saudi Arabia invaded Yemen in early 2015, with a coalition that includes Egypt, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Jordan, Senegal, Sudan, and the United States. US involvement has included targeting support for Saudi warplanes, in-air refueling for Saudi bombers, and naval participation in the blockade of Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

All the Saudis have to do is threaten to withdraw funding to the UN, and these accusations will simply melt away again.

This blacklisting will do absolutely nothing to stop the continued Yemeni genocide by the Saudis.

Oh, and BTW; the US participation in these activities makes the US complicit in war crimes in Yemen; how do you like being a citizens of a country committig war crimes in the Middle East with impunity?!?

I do not, thank you very much.
