Surrounded by Neocons – Philip Giraldi

Neocons appearing in the mainstream media will continue to have their eyes on the ball and seek for more aggressive engagement in places like Iran and Russia. They are all the news that fits.

Both Cohen and Booth were vociferous founding members of the #NeverTrump foreign policy resistance movement.

Boot describes the new regime’s foreign policy as “kowtow[ing] to dictators and undermin[ing] American support for freedom and democracy around the world,” typical neocon leitmotifs.

Trump Isn’t Another Hitler. He’s Another Obama

Not a lot of people remember this, but George W Bush actually campaigned in 2000 against the interventionist foreign policy that the United States had been increasingly espousing. Far from advocating the full-scale regime change ground invasions that his administration is now infamous for, Bush frequently used the word “humble” when discussing the type of foreign policy he favored, condemning nation-building, an over-extended military, and the notion that America should be the world’s police force.

Russiagate Turns On Its Originators

Russiagate Turns On Its Originators

Paul Craig Roberts

Russiagate originated in a conspiracy between the military/security complex, the Clinton-controlled Democratic National Committee, and the liberal/progressive/left. The goal of the military/security complex is to protect its out-sized budget and power by preventing President Trump from normalizing relations with Russia. Hillary and the DNC want to explain away their election loss by blaming a Trump/Putin conspiracy to steal the election. The liberal/progressive/left want Trump driven from office.

Donald Trump medical exam won't include mental fitness test: White House

Donald Trump's scheduled medical exam this week won't include a psychiatric evaluation, the White House said on Tuesday as questions mount over the US president's mental fitness.

Responding to queries on the subject, spokesman Hogan Gidley said simply: "No."

"He's sharp as a tack," Gidley told reporters on board Air Force One.

Trump, 71, will be examined at the Walter Reed military hospital in a Washington suburb Friday and the results are set to be made public.

Spectre and Meltdown make anything with chip in it vulnerable, but Raspberry Pi is safe

So why isn’t Raspberry Pi vulnerable?

Well, as a matter of course, Raspberry Pi runs on an ARM Cortex-A53, making it safe from Meltdown. However, most devices with ARM and AMD cores also use caching and speculative execution, which means they’re vulnerable to Spectre. Raspberry Pi doesn’t, making it one of the few devices on the market that’s free and clear.

The Raspberry Pi blog has an excellent post up explaining exactly how their devices are safe from Meltdown and Spectre. It turns out that the basic lack of caching and speculation in Raspberry Pi is enough to keep things good. If you’re interested, they have an extensive walk-through of the internal logic which Raspberry Pi uses instead of these two techniques. As they conclude,

Rosie Ruiz, age 26, finishes first in the women’s division of the Boston Marathon with a time of 2:31:56 on April 21, 1980. She was rewarded with a medal, a laurel wreath and a silver bowl; however, eight days later Ruiz is stripped of her victory after race officials learned she jumped into the race about a mile before the finish line.

(*As great a distraction to current events as this piece appears to be , I'm not submitting it to distract , but to illustrate how the US Government jumped up it's Israel First Doctrine under The Trump Administration .

Jimmy Carter became The American President and virtually locked himself in The Oval Office , and that liberal son of a ____ became responcible for the legendary four years That The United States refrained from starting wars . No Worries , Liberal , Palestinian Sympathizer , Carter was remembered as The Worst President in US history

Then Clinton , many already regard him , and his old lady as setbacks , so I'll spare the details . However , Clinton did replace Carter as Worst President in US History .
Bush Jr. got in, his answer to 9/11 was to go straight back into Iraq , and he is renouned for Accomplishing The Mission his old man botched

Author of Trump-bashing ‘Fire & Fury’ admits many accounts in book are untrue

WOLFF’S BOOK CONTAINS A DISCLAIMER, IN WHICH HE ACTUALLY ADMITS THAT MANY OF THE ACCOUNTS IN HIS BOOK ARE NOT TRUE!
This is what Wolff says in “Author’s Note” at the beginning of Fire and Fury:

“Many of the accounts of what has happened in the Trump White House are in conflict with one another; many, in Trumpian fashion, are baldly untrue. Those conflicts, and that looseness with the truth, if not with reality itself, are an elemental thread of the book. Sometimes I have let the players offer their versions, in turn allowing the reader to judge them. In other instances I have, through a consistency in accounts and through sources I have come to trust, settled on a version of events I believe to be true.”

How Jeff Bezos' Washington Post Became The US Military-Industrial Complex's Chief Propagandist

It used to be that the New York Times and the Washington Post competed against each other to be the chief propagandist for the hundred or so top firms who sell to the US federal government - the 100 top “federal contractors,” almost all of which are Pentagon contractors - mainly these are weapons-manufacturing firms, such as the biggest, Lockheed Martin. The federal government is a large part of these firms’ essential market; so, invasions by the US against other countries require lots of their goods and services; and, also, America’s foreign allies additionally buy these weapons; and, right now, US President Trump is demanding that they increase their ‘defense’ budgets to buy more of them. Wars produce corporate profits if (like in the United States) the military suppliers are private corporations instead of government-owned (socialized). Selling wars is crucial to such firms’ bottom lines.

China Is Building Its Second Foreign Military Base In Pakistan Amid US Diplomatic Scandal

America’s declining influence in the Middle East and the Pacific Rim has been in hyperdrive this week following President Trump’s tweetstorm against Pakistan.

To make matters worse, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, also accused Pakistan of playing “a double game for years,” and said President Trump would withhold $225 million in aid to the country.

Trump’s tweetstorm did not impress the Pakistani government: in response, it announced that it would be evicting some 1.4 million Afghan refugees from the country later this month. The Pakistani government also announced closer ties with China, and would ditch the dollar in bilateral trade with China, a move that has threatened Washington’s diplomatic relations with Pakistan.

In yet another example of the insanity that is the new liberal orthodoxy in the age of Trump, multiple mainstream news outlets, as well as numerous left-wing activists, are now publicly calling for Twitter to ban President Trump from their platform for threatening North Korea.

You read that correctly. American media outlets are not only defending North Korea, they are actually claiming that threatening the rogue nuclear nation constitutes “hateful speech” that must be censored.

Articles in the Washington Post, the New York Times, Slate Magazine, and the Globe and Mail have all called for censoring the president in the last week, ostensibly because of his threats against North Korea but in reality because the legacy media absolutely despises the fact that the president can speak to the American people without going through the establishment gatekeepers first.

Michael Wolf’s Fire and Fury inexorably supports Israelgate

***
Wolf himself indirectly and perhaps reluctantly brings readers to the attention of a conversation Roger Ailes (former Chairman and CEO of Fox News) and Steve Bannon had about Trump before he got elected as president. Ailes, who also was a media consultant for talking heads like George H. W. Bush, asked Bannon whether Trump understood what he is doing. “Does Donald Know?,” he said.

“Bannon took a sip of water. ‘He gets it,’ said Bannon, after hesitating for perhaps a beat [sic] too long. ‘Or he gets what he gets. With a sideways look, Ailes continued to stare him down, as though waiting for Bannon to show more of his cards.

“‘Really,’ Bannon said. ‘He’s on the program. It’s his program…Day one we’re moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. Netanyahu’s all in. [Sheldon](*Adelson?) Sheldon is all in. We know where we’re heading on this.”[1]

That statement is almost certainly true, and it is inexorably a bombshell which implicitly destroys the so-called Russiagate. It indirectly reinstates a frightening theory: the Israelgate. And the evidence for that is all around us.

What did Trump say just a few weeks ago? He announced that Jerusalem should be the capital of Israel, a dangerous statement which vindicates what Bannon was saying.

A number of President Donald Trump’s judicial nominations have collapsed in recent days after the candidates’ utter lack of qualifications was revealed, signaling (at a minimum) poor vetting on the part of the administration. Also in the candidates’ graveyard is Jeff Mateer, who in 2015 stated that transgender children are part of “Satan’s plan.” Mateer also prophesied that same-sex marriage would lead to bestiality and lamented the banning by some states of harmful and bogus “conversion therapies” for gay and lesbian persons.

Scott Adams Warns Donald Trump on Marijuana: 'I'm Gonna Turn on This President'

Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams warned President Donald Trump on Friday not to stop states from legalizing marijuana, warning: “I’m gonna turn on this president faster than anyone has ever turned on him.”

Adams said that Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s decision Thursday to rescind an Obama administration policy from 2013 that refrained from enforcing federal marijuana laws in states that had legalized the drug was not necessarily a bad sign for users of medical and recreational marijuana, since Sessions left discretion in the hands of each state’s U.S. Attorney. He did not order a crackdown by federal law enforcement on states that had legalized it.

However, Adams said that the decision to maintain marijuana as a Schedule I drug — the most dangerous category of drugs, with “no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse” — was a worrisome sign.

Private prison industry sees boon under Trump administration

Sessions war on Cannabis is nothing more than a payoff for the $500,00 these 2 private prison gave to the Trump campaign.

When it comes to private prisons in the US, the two biggest names are CoreCivic — the new name for the Corrections Corporation of America — and GEO Group. Management & Training Corporation, another company with prison operations, is not publicly traded.

Both companies welcomed the Trump era with large donations.

In January, GEO Group’s Pablo Paez, the company’s vice president of corporate relations, told USA Today it donated $250,000 to Trump’s inaugural committee. OpenSecrets’ list of inauguration donors noted the GEO Group donation, as well as CoreCivic’s $250,000 contribution.

The month before the election, GEO Group hired two former Sessions aides as lobbyists: David Stewart and Ryan Robichaux, according to Politico.

For activists working on reducing mass incarceration as a cornerstone of criminal justice reform, the future looks more than a little daunting.

We pointed out that stocks for private prisons plummeted when then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates ordered they be phased out last year. We reminded you that the day after Trump’s election, those stocks soared. Now, we read in The Nation that in October, just before the election, two of Sessions’ former Senate aides, David Stewart and Ryan Robichaux, became lobbyists for GEO Group, one of the two largest private prison companies, and that the two were specifically engaged to lobby on government contracting.

Why there won’t be a revolution in Iran – Pepe Escobar

Regime change is unlikely but what is in play is setting the scene for a further renewal of economic sanctions

What Rouhani should have explained to Iranians in detail is the direct consequences of hard economic times and United States sanctions, which are affecting the country.

These were coupled with financial threats against western firms now back in business, or at least contemplating opening up operations, in Iran.

A Wolff in wolf’s clothing: Trump tell-all book cannot be trusted

Be very careful with Wolff’s explosive book on the Trump White House until it has been completely fact-checked. Slate, yesterday:

Wolff is notorious for making provocative claims without backing them up … he was once described by one of his own editors as having no skill greater than creating the “appearance” of knowing things he does not in fact know. So you might want to take Wednesday’s reports with a mogul-size grain of salt.

Deep State Coup Underway! Lawmakers Discussed Trump’s ‘Mental Health’ With Psychiatrist

Lawmakers have called in a psychiatrist to discuss president Donald Trump’s “mental health.” The psychiatry professor at Yale, who believes President Trump’s mental health is a mounting emergency, made her case to more than a dozen members of Congress last month.

This appears to be “Plan B” right out of the deep state’s playbook. Yesterday, SHTFPlan reported on an interview with Roger Stone, in which Stone details the lengths the deep state will go to in order to oust Trump.

Candidate Trump v. President Trump

Throughout his campaign for president, Donald Trump attacked Goldman Sachs during both the primary and general elections, claiming the bank had gained “total, total control” over political rivals like Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He “accused Goldman of colluding with [Clinton] to ruin the U.S. and enrich the elite.” [1]

Trump even ended his campaign with a television ad derided by many as anti-Semitic, which accused the CEO of Goldman Sachs of being part of the “global power structure” responsible for having “robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities.” [2]

Despite the attacks of Candidate Trump on Goldman Sachs, President Trump has seen fit to hire many current and former Goldman Sachs executives to positions that include three top administration posts, his nominee for chair of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), and his nominee for Treasury Secretary.

Trump’s nominee for Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin, is a second-generation Goldman Sachs partner, while Jay Clayton, his nominee for SEC chair, is a partner at Sullivan & Cromwell, which has been Goldman Sachs’ “go-to law firm for more than a century.” Three of Trump’s highest-ranking advisors have prominent Goldman Sachs ties. Goldman partner Dina Powell is taking on a senior administration role in Trump’s White House; his chief strategist Steve Bannon “loved” working at the bank in the mid-1980s; and his newly named top economic advisor, Gary Cohn, is the current president and COO of the company.

Steve Bannon Planned to Refute Quotes by Controversial Author Michael Wolff

As Michael Wolff set the MAGA world on fire with quotes that he claims came from Steve Bannon in his new book, it is important that his history of sensational deceit is taken into consideration — especially since those close to the former White House chief strategist deny the accusations.

Trump-Bannon Battle Heats Up: Former Ally ‘Wants the President to Fail’

US President Donald Trump and Stephen K. Bannon, former chief strategist to the White House, vowed that Bannon’s exit from the White House would be graceful and the duo would stay allies. It’s turning out to be just the opposite: the past few days have seen the former allies malign each other as dishonest, pathetic or flatly insane.

Trump Must School Sessions on Medical Marijuana. NOW.

School him! Good luck. ThaT man is pathological when it comes to Cannabis!
FIRE HIM!

When it comes to lower-profile yet critically important issues such as medical marijuana, President Trump’s own Justice Department has been actively undermining candidate Trump’s numerous, clear promises to respect the right of states to pass laws that allow for it.

This is important.

Candidate Trump was always very clear in his many promises on medical marijuana. In October of 2015, Trump said at a rally in Nevada “the marijuana thing is such a big thing. I think medical should happen” and then on a Michigan radio station in March of 2016 he said “I think that it should be up to the states.” Trump even went on Fox News during the campaign and said of medical marijuana “I’m in favor of it a hundred percent.” Trump’s support for medical marijuana was unequivocal and considered to be a solemn promise to the voters who put him in office.

Donald Trump On WWJ: From Marijuana To Torture, 7 Things To Know Before Casting Your Ballot

Keep your promise Mr. President and please fire Sessions!

Trump says he’s NEVER smoked weed, but he does like it

“I never have smoked it. I think it certainly has to be a state — I have not smoked it — it’s got to be a state decision,” he said. “Colorado did it as you know and I guess it’s very mixed right now, they haven’t really made a final determination. There seems to be certain health problems with it and that would be certainly bothersome. I do like it, you know, from a medical standpoint — it does do pretty good things. But from the other standpoint, I think that should be up to the states. Certainly, from a medical standpoint, a lot of people are liking it.”

Trump to lose support of many Americans over Jeff Sessions pointless battle with a plant that has major medical benefits

Well, it’s official, President Donald J. Trump has gone from being my favorite president to being essentially a laughing stock of the country after his boy, Attorney General Jeff Sessions suddenly declared war on the highly beneficial plant known as marijuana, and that, my friends, is where I draw the line.

There Will Not Be a War With North Korea in 2018 (unless America Starts One)

It is the time of year of predictions and forecasts. The course of large tangled relationships like those of the Middle East, or the United States and China, are hard to foresee, but here is a fairly easy prediction regarding otherwise extremely opaque North Korea: there will be no war between the United States and North Korea unless Washington chooses to start one. Western media would have you think we are on the brink of a massive conflict. That is grossly inaccurate. The only war in Northeast Asia would be a war of choice, not necessity, driven by the mistaken insistence of Donald Trump’s administration that the United States absolutely cannot live with a nuclearized North Korea. By contrast, all other players in the region are adjusting to the North’s new capabilities.

McConnell endorses Trump's criticism of Bannon

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is throwing his support behind President Trump's blistering comments about Stephen Bannon.

"I'd like to associate myself with what the president had to say about Steve Bannon yesterday," McConnell told reporters on Thursday, asked about Bannon's comments in a forthcoming book that a 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer was "unpatriotic."

Trump broke with Bannon, his former chief strategist, during an explosive statement on Wednesday saying he had "lost his mind” and accused him of being “only in it for himself.”

Bannon has repeatedly lashed out at McConnell, saying he should resign and predicting that he would lose his spot in Senate leadership—despite wide support from the caucus.
