Jeff Sessions Is Caught In An FBI Cover Up That Will Leave You Speechless

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is on the hot seat.

Sessions’ conduct during the Russia investigation has raised the suspicions of President Trump and his supporters.

Now the Attorney General is caught in the middle of an FBI cover up that will leave you speechless.

Three members of the conservative Freedom Caucus – Chairman Mark Meadows, Ron DeSantis and Jim Jordan – are pressing the Department of Justice to turn over documents relating to the FBI’s spying and sabotage campaign against Donald Trump.

But the Justice Department is obstructing Congress from carrying out their oversight authority by blocking these requests.

The Northern California judge says he would handle the sexual assault case of former Stanford University swimmer Brock Turner the same way today as he did almost two years ago, though it's the reason he is the target of a June 5 recall election and has become the self-described "most hated man on the internet."

Kilauea Eruption Sends Ash And Lava Bombs Flying, Forces Evacuations

Another explosive eruption at the summit of Hawaii's Kilauea volcano could blanket parts of the Big Island in ash.

On Friday, the volcano and its fissures spewed lava up to 200 feet in the air and ejected lava bombs — or chunks of molten rock the size of refrigerators.

FACEBOOK ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH THINK TANK CONNECTED TO NATO, MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

Facebook has announced a new partnership with the Atlantic Council, a think tank with close ties to the Military Industrial Complex and Defense Department.

On Thursday Facebook announced a new partnership with the Atlantic Council, a think tank which officially claims to provide a forum for international political, business, and intellectual leaders. The social media giant said the partnership is aimed at preventing Facebook from “being abused during elections.” The press release promotes Facebook’s efforts to fight fake news by using artificial intelligence, as well as working with outside experts and governments.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: Facebook will, henceforward, be weaponizing all information on it, for the benefit of the DOD and military industrial complex.

If there was EVER a reason to run, not walk from, Facebook, it is this moment, in its evolution, to abandon it permanently.

Israel Won’t Cooperate With UN Probe on Gaza Killings

Israeli officials announced Friday that they will completely refuse all cooperation with the new UN probe into the Nakba Day killings of 61 Palestinian protesters at the Gaza border. The protesters were killed by Israeli troops.

A UN Security Council resolution failed to agree on the probe, when it was vetoed by the United States. The UN Human Rights Council, where no veto power exists, held a special session agreeing to send international investigators into the probe.

It was the deadliest single day in the Gaza Strip since the 2014 Israeli invasion. The incident lead to substantial international outcry. Israeli officials argued that the number of deaths were themselves of no consequence, likening it to killing Nazis.

Ripping children from parents will shatter America’s soul

To leave, we needed American sponsors, but no sponsor was willing to host my entire family. One took my parents, one took my 10-year-old brother and one took me.

Electromagnetic radiation from power lines and phone masts poses 'credible' threat to wildlife, report finds

Electromagnetic radiation from power lines, wi-fi, phone masts and broadcast transmitters poses a ‘credible’ threat to wildlife, a new report suggests, as environmentalists warned the 5G roll out could cause greater harm.

An analysis of 97 studies by the EU-funded review body EKLIPSE concluded that radiation is a potential risk to insect and bird orientation and plant health.

However the charity Buglife warned that despite good evidence of the harms there was little research ongoing to assess the impact, or apply pollution limits.

The charity said ‘serious impacts on the environment could not be ruled out’ and called for 5G transmitters to be placed away from street lights, which attract insects, or areas where they could harm wildlife.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am grateful for this charity's concern about wildlife, but what about electromagnetic effects on human beings, please?!?

Actually, the 1 Percent Are Still The Problem

One of the nice things about Occupy Wall Street was that it provided a tidy shorthand to describe the problem of income inequality at a moment when the world didn’t really have one. Today, it’s a cliche: the 99 percent vs. the 1 percent. But at the time, that brief phrase awakened many people to the idea that America’s riches were distributed more unevenly than they thought, and that an increasingly outrageous share was being concentrated at the very top.

HUNDREDS OF HANDBAGS, 72 SUITCASES FULL OF JEWELS SEIZED FROM OUSTED MALAYSIAN LEADER'S HOME

Former prime minister Najib Razak and his wife were barred last week from leaving Malaysia in the wake of his stunning election loss, over fears that they may evade prosecution in a massive corruption scandal.

Then, police announced Friday that raids on properties linked to Najib had turned up 72 suitcases stuffed with jewels and cash. It took five trucks to haul away some of the belongings, because police also had to fit 284 boxes filled with designer handbags - including Birkin bags from Hermes, which can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Photos show police carrying out orange boxes, with labels reading "Paris, H Bag Gray Croco Skin Hermes" and "Switzerland, Bag Blue w/Diamonte Croc Skin, Hermes."

"Exactly how much jewelry, I would not be able to say, because we know that we confiscated bags containing jewelry, and the number of jewelry is rather big," Amar Singh, head of Malaysia's commercial crime investigation unit, told reporters on Friday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Certain American politicians who believe that they are "too big to nail" for corruption, please take note!!

US SUPPORTS VENEZUELA'S DEMOCRACY BY ACCUSING MADURO OF DRUG PROFITEERING AHEAD OF ELECTIONS

The US has criticized the upcoming Venezuelan elections as 'fake,' and rushed to support 'democracy' by slapping a top ruling-party member with new sanctions and accusing President Nicolas Maduro of drug-trade profiteering.
The "second most powerful man in Venezuela," Diosdado Cabello, immediately brushed aside the accusations and new US sanctions introduced against him for allegedly heading a drug ring. He said such slander would only strengthen the ruling party's candidate, Maduro, to win Sunday's elections.

"In truth I feel liberated, that imperialism is busy persecuting this humble soldier and his family, strengthens me, forces me every day to continue fighting for the causes that I believe and to be faithful and loyal to our beloved people," Cabello, who is vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), said in a tweet after the US Treasury slapped him – as well as two members of his family, and his "front man" – with sanctions ahead of the election.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These most-probably fact-free smears are not going to change the way this election will go.

Russia has already started to assist economically by using the petromoneda, an oil-backed currency, and short of an outright US invasion, Venezuela is going to continue upon the political road it is on right now.

White House pushes ahead with Mideast peace plan

DOJ STILL WANTS TO LOCK PEOPLE UP FOR PROTESTING THE GOVERNMENT, OR EVEN JUST TALKING ABOUT IT

The government is still trying to land a conviction from its mass arrest of participants in last year’s Inauguration Day protests in Washington, DC. So far, it has nothing to show for its efforts but a far-too-casual disregard for civil liberties.

The government compounded its unconstitutional behavior in court when its lawyer (Jennifer Kerkhoff) tried to downplay the significance of a foundational part of our justice system — that the accusers must prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” the accused committed a crime.

After these horrendous actions and the acquittal of its first batch of J20 prosecutees, the DOJ is finally going to attempt something a bit more targeted.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Trump's Administration will not rest, until the entire First Amendment to the Constitution has become thoroughly damaged, that any attempt at peaceful, dissenting speech, can now be criminalized.

Britain's drivers are suffering more punctures than ever before. But inexplicably only just over a third of new cars today are sold with a spare wheel as standard, a new investigation has found.

With the UK's roads continuing to fall into a state of disrepair and increasingly riddled with potholes, motorists suffer more than 30,000 punctures a month on average.

But when they do get a flat tyre and would like to open the boot to find a spare wheel, 62 per cent of new car owners don't have one.

An Empire Of Nothing At All - A Staggeringly Well-Funded Blowback Machine

As I was putting the finishing touches on my new book, the Costs of War Project at Brown University’s Watson Institute published an estimate of the taxpayer dollars that will have gone into America’s war on terror from September 12, 2001, through fiscal year 2018. That figure: a cool $5.6 trillion (including the future costs of caring for our war vets). On average, that’s at least $23,386 per taxpayer.

In reality, the costs of America’s wars, still spreading in the Trump era, are incalculable. Just look at photos of the cities of Ramadi or Mosul in Iraq, Raqqa or Aleppo in Syria, Sirte in Libya, or Marawi in the southern Philippines, all in ruins in the wake of the conflicts Washington set off in the post–9/11 years, and try to put a price on them. Those views of mile upon mile of rubble, often without a building still standing untouched, should take anyone’s breath away. Some of those cities may never be fully rebuilt.

The US has cleared the sale of 3,200 bombs valued at about $45 million, including powerful bunker busters, to Bahrain. The Persian Gulf monarchy is hosting the US 5th Fleet and has been involved in the Saudi-led bombing of Yemen.

US Congress mulls extending copyright yet again – to 144 years

The US Congress is looking to extend copyright on some sound recordings to a staggering 144 years – making it the twelfth time copyright rules have been extended since the 1970s.

The CLASSICS Act being debated in the Senate and House would create a new federal copyright rule for sound recordings made between 1923 and 1972 that would keep them out of the public domain until 2067.

The act is being combined with another bill – the Music Modernization Act – which is aimed at ensuring that musicians are paid for their music as we enter the digital streaming era, under the logic that it makes sense to pull together a patchwork of laws under one regime.

The upshot, however, is that recordings from the 1920s to the 1970s cannot be streamed without a license.

Britain has accused Russia of being behind the poisoning, saying it was caused by a type of nerve agent known as Novichok which was developed in the Soviet Union.

Putin wished Skripal 'good health' during a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel today. But he added: 'God grant him good health... If a military-grade poison had been used, the man would have died on the spot. Thank God he recovered and that he left (hospital).'

Putin then accused Britain of failing to respond to the Kremlin's offer of help with the investigation. 'We have several times offered our British partners any necessary assistance in the investigation (of the poisoning). So far we have received no response. Our offer remains open,' he said.

Clapper Says "Good Thing" FBI Was Spying On Trump Campaign

From: @real Donald Trump:

Wow, word seems to be coming out that the Obama FBI “SPIED ON THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH AN EMBEDDED INFORMANT.” Andrew McCarthy says, “There’s probably no doubt that they had at least one confidential informant in the campaign.” If so, this is bigger than Watergate!

The Daily Caller's Julia Nista pointed out the hypocrisy of former Director of Intelligence James Clapper, who said Thursday night on CNN that it was “a good thing” there was an FBI informant spying on the Trump campaign.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This from a guy who pledged to uphold the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and defend this country from all enemies, both foreign and domestic?!?

I have two words for this: utterly tonedeaf!!

Gina Haspel Said Only One Detainee’s Torture Was Taped. She’s Wrong.

Donald Trump’s chosen CIA chief claimed the torture tapes she helped destroy showed one detainee’s torture. But she oversaw the torture of a second taped detainee.

It seemed like a small misstatement, the sort anyone makes from time to time, but it might augur much for Gina Haspel’s relationship with the truth as Donald Trump’s potential next CIA director.

All the available evidence, to include declassified CIA documents, indicates that two detainees had their torture at the hands of the CIA recorded on 92 agency videotapes in 2002 at a black site Haspel eventually ran. The vast majority of the tapes showed Abu Zubaydah’s torture. A few showed the torture of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, whose waterboarding and other torture occurred under Haspel’s command as chief of base at the Thailand secret prison she ran between October and December 2002.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The choice of Haspel was perfectly logical, on Trump's part.

He is telegraphing perpetual wars, "seasoned" with torture, will be the rule of the day, and the rule of law, and the Geneva Conventions, be damned.

And I would like you to think about this, particularly if you have family in the military.

When this country tortures, or outsources it , there are two results. First, the rest of the world understands that the humanitarian values, this country claims it practices, are practiced in the breach, not in their observance.
Second, when this country tortures, or outsources torture, it gives a country's leadership carte blanche to do precisely the same to American citizens, or our military.

Back in World War II, there was a German interrogator, Hans Scharff, who never, ever used torture:
Wikipedia: Hans Scharff

He was lauded for his humanitarian treatment of American and British POWS, and would take them out on day passes for cultural events, and feed them decently. At the end of the war, he was so highly respected by the US government and military, that he was invited to teach his methods at military bases all over the country.

Torture doesn't work, and will only get the tortured person to say what he or she thinks the torturer wants to hear to get the torture to stop, and very rarely produces actionable results. People who torture like to hurt people, because they can, and psychologically "get off" on the process, and know that they will be able to get away with it with impunity.

The fact that he and his advisors chose a Torquemada archetype, as the Director of the CIA, rather than a Scharff archetype, does not bode well for American foreign policy any time soon.
