THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

"American capitalism, based as it is on exploitation of the poor, with its fundamental motivation in personal greed, simply cannot survive without force - without a secret police force. Now, more than ever, each of us is forced to make a conscious choice whether to support the system of minority comfort and privilege with all its security apparatus and repression, or whether to struggle for real equality of opportunity and fair distribution of benefits for all of society, in the domestic as well as the international order. It's harder now not to realize that there are two sides, harder not to understand each, and harder not to recognize that like it or not we contribute day in and day out either to the one side or to the other." -- Philip Agee, CIA Diary, p597

US moves to criminalize non-disclosure of virtual currency ownership

The US Senate is reportedly considering a bill to outlaw the concealment of ownership of digital currency accounts by American citizens domestically and abroad.

The Senate Judiciary Committee says existing anti-money laundering (AML) laws need to be modernized.

The bill will amend the definition of ‘financial account’ and ‘financial institution’ to include cryptocurrencies and digital exchanges.

Experts warn that if the law is passed, it will likely have far-reaching effects for digital currencies’ users both in the US and abroad.

Donald Trump pulls US out of UN global compact on migration

The Trump administration has pulled out of the United Nations’ ambitious plans to create a more humane global strategy on migration, saying involvement in the process interferes with American sovereignty, and runs counter to US immigration policies.

The US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, informed the UN secretary general, Antonio Guterres, at the weekend that Donald Trump was not willing to continue with an American commitment to the UN global compact on migration.

The announcement of the US withdrawal from the pact came hours before the opening of a UN global conference on migration scheduled to begin on Monday in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What has got to stop are these perpetual wars, courtesy of the US government, which are causing these mass displacements to the point where accepting countries are dealing with a massive rise in rapes, murders, and suppression of the local cultures, faith expressions, traditions, and language.

Drone collisions with airliners may not be fatal, US study suggests

Computer simulations carried out by Assure found that a 1.2kg quadcopter striking the windscreen of a commercial jet airliner travelling at 250 knots simply bounced off, leaving a few marks or chips on the windscreen.

“Due to the low angle impact in the transparency (~45°), the UAS impacts were deflected without inducing considerable damage to the windshield,” wrote the study’s authors. The worst damage likely to be caused was permanent damage to the windscreen but no failure of the whole structure.

Your 'gluten sensitivity' might not have anything to do with gluten

It turns out there's a very good reason why people like Allen, who test negative for celiac disease, report feeling better after avoiding gluten. And it's not because they are sensitive to gluten. A new study published in the journal Gastroenterology suggests another culprit that travels along with gluten in wheat, rye, and barley — fructan — may be causing their digestive problems.

Iran's Jewish community in Esfahan: We 'feel at home'

Esfahan, Iran (CNN)If you're looking for the Jewish community in the Iranian town of Esfahan, you won't have to search for long.

The main synagogue is on Palestine Square, right in the heart of Iran's third largest city. There are public prayers several times a day -- sometimes with more than a hundred people in attendance.

The Jewish community in Iran does not hide its heritage. At the synagogue, Michael Malakon leads the prayer service. He says he is proud of his Jewish identity. And even in a country that is so hostile towards Israel, Malakon says he can practice freely and that he has many Muslim friends.

COPS BEAT MAN — UNTIL HE DEFECATES HIMSELF — FOR PAYING $10 FINE IN PENNIES [VIDEO]

A Michigan man is seeking damages after court officers physically assaulted and choked him to the point of defecation for trying to pay a $10 traffic fine with pennies.

Sevy had gone to Royal Oak’s 44th District Court in February to pay his parking fine with his credit card, but the $10 fine would have cost him a $1.75 transaction fee.

So, he got a bag of $10 worth of pennies and submitted them to the clerk. But the clerk turned down the money. When he asked why they refused to allow him to pay in pennies, the clerk verbally abused Sevy. An officer then intervened, instructing him to leave the premises.

According to U.S. Law Code 31.5103, “United States coins and currency (including Federal reserve notes and circulating notes of Federal reserve banks and national banks) are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues.” Those in government who refuse to take legal tender such as these pennies are not acting lawfully.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF this is how Michigan cops interpret the phrase "to protect and serve", the citizens of this state have only one alternative; move yourselves, your families, and your businesses, and your tax base, OUT of that state, and immediately.

And do inform Governor Rick Snyder that you are now completely awakened to the dark reality that living in the State of Michigan can be extremely hazardous to your health.

Literally.

Trump will go to Salt Lake City, Utah to meet with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints And Announced Shrinking of FED lands

President Donald Trump is announcing plans to scale back two sprawling national monuments in Utah, responding to what he has condemned as a "massive federal land grab" by the government.

The president said in April his order would end "another egregious abuse of federal power" and "give that power back to the states and to the people where it belongs."

Trump is traveling to Salt Lake City on Monday to outline his intention to shrink the Bears Ears and the Grand-Staircase Escalante national monuments spanning millions of acres in Utah. The two national monuments were among 27 that Trump ordered Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke to review earlier this year.

THE ISRAELI ‘REFUZNIKS’ …. WHO ARE THEY?

Today, the term Refuznik is used to define the young Israelis who refuse to serve in the occupation army of their country and declare this in public (while many others try to avoid the military service by leaving the country and without proclaiming their refusal in public).

The term comes from Russian (Otkaznik: “????????” which derives from the substantive “?????” meaning refusal, opposition). In the past, Refuzniks were the people who were denied their visa by Soviet authorities. In this case, the term refers to Soviet Jews in particular (even if not all Soviet Refuzniks were Jews).

WHEN RESISTANCE BECOMES A DUTY

The occupying “Jewish State’s” politics of discrimination is something you are not allowed to talk about in the German media, in public, or in political events. Thanks to the Israel lobby the term “occupation” has become a non-existent bad word not to be mentioned. What we experience at the moment and is particularly present here in Germany is the fact that the term “occupation,” when it is about the “Jewish State,” is substituted by “anti-Semitism.” This creates an oppressive fearful mood which is intended to stop our engagement for the liberation of Palestine from the illegal Jewish-Zionist occupation. The Israel lobby and its numerous sayanim use all means to get the prerogative of interpretation in the media and in official politics; they determine what has to be said and pillory alleged anti-Semites.

"ACCUSING SOMEONE YOU DISAGREE WITH OF BEING A RUSSIAN TROLL IS ADMITTING YOU HAVE NO ARGUMENT"

I shouldn’t have to write this article. And yet, here we are...

I don’t care who you are or how much Palmer Report you read: accusing someone who disagrees with you of conducting psyops for a foreign government is never, ever a normal or acceptable way of conducting political discourse.

I tweeted the above yesterday after noticing another uptick in the bizarre habit establishment loyalists have of labeling anyone who disagrees with them as Russian trolls. And, though I didn’t address it to her and made no mention of her, Louise Mensch took it personally.

ELECTORAL COUP ATTEMPT IN HONDURAS

The current National Party government derives from the 2009 military coup which overthrew President Manual Zelaya. When Zelaya was kidnapped in the coup, he was flown directly from Tegucigalpa to the US Palmerola Air Base just 40 miles from the capital. After time on the ground there, with the coup leaders presumably consulting with Washington, the kidnapped President was taken to Costa Rica. In the face of massive resistance to the coup government, five months later there was a sham election which, according to Secy of State Hillary Clinton, made the coup a “moot point”. The election was widely boycotted within Honduras but given the seal of approval by Washington.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Stealing, or "nudging" foreign elections has been a CIA-stock-in trade for years; I would imagine that if the election has not gone to the liking of the current administration, it will be manipulated in another direction.

Planned Parenthood Is in Deep Trouble With the Law. This Could Be a Turning Point.

Just as news of the FBI inquiry broke, the 8th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals declined to revisit its ruling that the state of Arkansas can redirect Medicaid funds away from abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood, which the state is completely justified in doing considering the ongoing baby parts scandal.

These two major breakthroughs would have been inconceivable under the Obama administration, which repeatedly abused federal power to prop up the abortion industry.

President Barack Obama’s aggressively pro-abortion administration put the “bully” in “bully pulpit.” Under Obama, the Justice Department became a tool to harass and intimidate pro-life advocates, labeling them domestic terrorists alongside groups like the Ku Klux Klan.

Instead of investigating Planned Parenthood for the shocking, potentially illegal practices exposed in the videos, pro-abortion Attorney General Loretta Lynch decided to investigate the whistleblowers.

ABC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Terry Moran appeared to criticize colleague Brian Ross on Twitter Saturday night over Ross' reporting on the 2001 anthrax scare.

Ross, the network's chief investigative correspondent, was suspended for four weeks without pay after he incorrectly reported that former national security adviser Michael Flynn would testify that Donald Trump ordered Flynn to contact Russian officials to discuss foreign policy before Trump was elected president last year.

Venomous DPRK Threats Follow Arrival of US Stealth Fighters in South Korea

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula reached fever pitch over the weekend with the arrival of six US F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jets in South Korea on Saturday for joint military drills.

The deployment of the fighter jets to the region comes days after Pyongyang launched a Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile reportedly capable of traveling some 8000 miles and reaching Washington DC. Military experts say chances of war are growing at an exponential rate, with both US and North Korean authorities throwing gasoline into the fire.

On Saturday, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the People's Democratic Republic of Korea (DPRK) said in a written statement that US President Donald Trump and his administration were "begging for nuclear war" by "staging an extremely dangerous nuclear gamble on the Korean peninsula."

NSA SECRETLY HELPED CONVICT DEFENDANTS IN U.S. COURTS, CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS REVEAL

During Kurbanov’s trial, the government notified him that his conversations with an alleged Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan associate based in Pakistan had been intercepted. The spying, federal prosecutors said, had been authorized under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978, which regulates the monitoring of agents of foreign governments and terrorist organizations. Kurbanov was convicted at trial and sentenced to 25 years in prison, after which he’ll be deported to Uzbekistan. He is an apparent success story for U.S. counterterrorism officials. If there was any doubt about Kurbanov’s propensity for violence, he eliminated it by stabbing a prison warden in California, an act for which he is now facing additional charges.

Illegal Alien From Mexico Convicted of Sexual Assault Deported 20 Times From U.S.

Martinez attacked both women on the same day, just a week after he had been released from jail. He had also been deported from the U.S. 20 times previously. Friday, Martinez pled guilty to 10 counts including sexual assault – smiling and grinning throughout the trial and even whilst pleading guilty to his crimes.

Oregon was American’s first sanctuary state, adopting the law in 1987 – meaning law enforcement is unable to detain people who are in the U.S. illegally if they have not broken other laws. In short, sanctuary states and cities are a total joke and the recent verdict in the Kate Steinle trial can attest to that, too.

Whilst relatives of the victims spoke, Martinez often grinned. When leaving the courtroom after being sentenced, he told the victim’s families: “See all you guys in Hell”. Along with his 20 deportations, Martinez had a long list of low-level drug offenses, disorderly conduct, and other misdemeanors.

INTERVIEW - Ex-SDF man tells of US support for PKK/PYD

A former spokesperson and defector from the Syrian SDF, a group dominated by the terrorist PKK/PYD, spoke to Anadolu Agency on Friday.

Talal Silo, a former high-ranking commander and spokesperson of the U.S.-backed force who defected from the terrorist group last month, is currently in Turkey.

Despite Turkey’s objections, the U.S. has provided the PKK/PYD with arms, calling it an ally in the fight against Daesh, but ignoring its terrorist group status.

Silo told Anadolu Agency about the organization’s "exit to the Mediterranean" project.

He said a U.S. intelligence chief told them that it is necessary to reach Mediterranean in order to be "permanent".

The PKK/PYD is currently occupying more than one fourth of Syrian territory. The expansion strategy of the organization has grown as it advanced its area of dominance, starting from the Iraqi border in eastern Syria, then west through the Turkish borderline.

Grassley: No Tax Cuts For Working People Because They Blow Them On ‘Booze Or Women’

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley decided to shove his foot so far down his throat, he may need a visit to a gastroenterologist to remove it fully. During an interview with the Des Moines Register, Grassley actually said that rich folks who "invest" are more deserving of tax cuts because they don't waste money on things...like, you know, food and housing and childcare.

His exact quote:

“I think not having the estate tax recognizes the people that are investing,” Grassley said, “as opposed to those that are just spending every darn penny they have, whether it’s on booze or women or movies.”

Rich folks don't waste money on those things. They save it for cocaine and hookers, don’t they? That claim is at least as valid as Grassley’s.

Iran is like Nazi Germany in its 'ruthless commitment to murder Jews' – Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister went on another fiery tirade against Iran, comparing the Islamic Republic with Hitler’s Germany, claiming both shared the goal to exterminate all Jews.

“Obviously, there are some differences between the Nazi Germany and Islamic Republic of Iran,” Benjamin Netanyahu generously allowed, “but both regimes do have two important things in common: one, a ruthless commitment to impose tyranny and terror, and second, a ruthless commitment to murder Jews,” he claimed in a video message, filmed for the Saban Forum, a conference on the US policy in the Middle East, that kicked off in Washington on Sunday.

The Israeli leader has recently ratcheted up his angry rhetoric towards Iran, repeatedly accusing it of gaining a military foothold in Syria to attack Israel and vowing to “act alone” to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is one small problem with Netanyahu's claim. There are Jews living in Iran. They are quite comfortable there. One of the world's oldest continually operating synagogues is in Iran. The Iranian Jews are so well off in Iran they refused an offer by Israel to emigrate.

Germany’s CSU picks right-winger Soeder as candidate for Bavaria premier

Lawmakers of Germany’s Christian Social Union (CSU), the Bavarian sister party of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservatives, have nominated right-winger Markus Soeder as their candidate for state premier in a regional election. The future of current premier Horst Seehofer - a Merkel ally - had been in question since a general election in September. The nomination could complicate Merkel’s efforts to form a stable national government with the center-left Social Democrats (SPD). Soeder welcomed a decision by Seehofer to stay on as CSU party leader, as this would help to find a way out of the political impasse in Berlin.

Another Empty “Bombshell” Russiagate Story

If you read the actual Statement of Offense against Flynn, though, there’s nothing in there that lends any weight to the Russiagate narrative. Flynn did indeed lie to the FBI, which is a thought crime?—?I mean felony?—?in America. What he lied about was the fact that he’d successfully asked the Russians through Kislyak not to overreact to the sanctions the outgoing Obama administration had slammed on them in December, an interaction which according to former Ambassador to Russia Jack Matlock would have been standard practice.

Dec 04 07:15

As special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe continues, the full extent of the covert Israeli effort to undermine what was then US policy will come to light, and this may prove to be the most revealing aspect of the whole affair.

What’s interesting is that an Israeli official would come right out and brazenly boast of having turned to the Trump team to stop the resolution:

Report: Friday Israeli Attack in Syria Killed 12 Iranians

On Friday, Israel attacked a site south of Damascus. Reports of the strike were reported early in the Israeli press, but subsequently the reports were removed from all Israeli media outlets. Details then were a matter of speculation.

Over the weekend, media outlets across the Arab world have gotten reports out of the area. These reports suggest that Israel did attack Iranian military forces within Syria in the strike, something the Israeli papers had previously reported, claiming 12 Iranians were killed in the attack.

Syria’s state media reported the attack targeted one of their military posts near Damascus, though they offered no details on deaths. They did, however, claim two Israeli missiles were intercepted by air defense.

Flynn’s plea on Russian influence reveals… Israel’s influence!

The big news today is that the Russiagate probe moved closer to the president: former national security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with a Russian official in 2016 during the transition between the Obama and Trump presidencies.

But Israel’s influence is the heart of the matter. One of two conversations Flynn lied about was asking the then-Russian ambassador to stop that U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlements as a flagrant violation of international law.

Heaven Forbid Peace Should Break Out Between the US and North Korea!

As long as the US Empire can be funded and maintained on the backs of its taxpaying public, the chance of de-escalation of tensions not only on the Korean peninsula, but throughout the world are practically nil. And, as long as the nation’s current interventionist ideology holds sway, it will only be through a financial meltdown that the US’s role as global policeman will come to a much-needed end.

Yemen's former leader Ali Abdullah Saleh 'killed'

Reports from Yemen say ex-President Ali Abdullah Saleh has been killed in fighting with his former allies.

Media controlled by the rebel Houthi movement quoted officials as declaring the "end of the crisis of the treason militia and the killing of its leader".

Sources in Mr Saleh's General People's Congress party also confirmed that he was dead, according to Al Arabiya TV.

Pictures and video circulated online showed the body of a man resembling Mr Saleh with a severe head wound.

Until last week, Mr Saleh's supporters had been fighting alongside the Houthis in a war against Yemen's current president, Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Soros Army in Alabama to Register Convicted Felons to Vote Against Roy Moore

An organization partnered with a George Soros-financed group and led by a radical leftist who is the half-brother of the infamous controversial Rev. Al Sharpton has been diligently working over the past few weeks to register convicted felons across Alabama.
The aim of the effort has been to get as many felons as possible on the roster before last Monday, the deadline to register in order to vote in Alabama’s Dec. 12 senate special election that pits Republican Roy Moore against Democratic challenger Doug Jones. The man spearheading the campaign has stated outright that his effort is meant to ensure a Democratic victory in Alabama.

The thousands of felons reportedly newly registered over the past few weeks were most likely not included in any recent polling on the Alabama senate race put out by major firms.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In Alabama, people convicted of a felony lose their right to vote. Some people convicted of a felony may apply to have their vote restored immediately upon completion of their full sentence. Those convicted of certain felony offenses such as murder, rape, incest, sexual crime against children, and treason are not eligible for re-enfranchisement.

Jacob Rees-Mogg skewers BBC host - Brexit Britain MUST leave the EU COMPLETELY in 2019

The Tory MP told Marr the UK should “implement” its withdrawal from the European Union from that date and not pretend it is still part of the Brussels bloc.

Speaking on the Andrew Marr Show, the leading Brexiteer dismissed the term “transition period” as misleading and said it would delay Britain’s departure by two years.

Asked about a letter he signed to Theresa May calling for no money to be handed over to the EU until a free trade deal is agreed with the bloc, Jacob Rees-Mogg said it was important not to throw funds away.

The letter also states there should be no freedom of movement, no European Court of Justice jurisdiction, and the ability to sign free trade deals around the world from March 2019 when the Brexit “transition period” begins.

AfD elects leader duo amid pro-refugee protests

The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) elected a new leadership duo from its nationalist wing on Saturday after the party's triumphant turnout in September's general election, as thousands staged street protests against the anti immigrant, anti-Islam political force.

The AfD captured nearly 13 percent of the vote and almost 100 seats in parliament -- a watershed moment in German post-war politics that left Chancellor Angela Merkel the winner but required her to seek out a still-elusive coalition. However a row between radical nationalists and more moderate forces has festered in the AfD's top ranks, with co-leader Frauke Petry abruptly quitting just days after the election to form her own breakaway party.

Around 600 delegates gathered at the two-day congress in the northern city of Hanover to elect her replacement, setting up a dramatic showdown between the warring factions.

NSA, DOJ STILL AREN'T LETTING DEFENDANTS KNOW THEY'RE USING SECTION 702 EVIDENCE AGAINST THEM

The NSA has never taken its evidentiary obligations seriously. The agency is supposed to inform the court and defendants if surveillance-derived evidence is being used against them. (And it's actually supposed to hand over the evidence as well.) This just doesn't happen. The NSA encourages parallel construction to obscure the true source of evidence used in court cases. The FBI's access to Section 702 collections makes this much easier. It allows the FBI to present NSA evidence as its own, heading off any scrutiny of the NSA's programs and collection methods.

A Holistic Approach to the Healthcare Crisis

In 2017, America will spend more than $10,000 per person on healthcare, or 18% of our GDP. In every measure of cost – total spending, per capita spending, spending as percentage of GDP – the US is #1. However, the results are abysmal: worst healthcare and 4th highest child mortality among developed nations, 31st in the world in life expectancy and ranked as one of the fattest countries in the world (70% are overweight or obese). Why? We have a fundamentally misguided approach to health, disease and treatments...

Progress report on the US-Russian war

I am often asked if the US and Russia will go to war with each other. I always reply that they are already at war. Not a war like WWII, but a war nonetheless. This war is, at least for the time being, roughly 80% informational, 15% economic and 5% kinetic. But in political terms the outcome for the loser of this war will be no less dramatic than the outcome of WWII was for Germany: the losing country will not survive it, at least not in its present shape: either Russia will become a US colony again or the AngloZionist Empire will collapse.

At the end of the day, political regimes can only survive by the consent of those it rules. In the United States this consent is clearly in the process of being withdrawn. In Russia it has never been stronger.

Netanyahu and CIA Director Pompeo Threaten Iran

Washington, Israel and Saudi Arabia comprise a sinister alliance against Iran, risking greater regional war than already.

Last month, Netanyahu vowed to prevent Iran from using Syria “as a base from which to destroy Israel” – invoking the long ago discredited canard.

Iran threatens no one, not Israel or any other countries. The Big Lie persists to justify unjustifiable US/Israeli/Saudi hostility toward the Islamic Republic.

Following Israeli warplane terror-bombing of a Syrian military target overnight Friday, naked aggression by any standard, Netanyahu released a disinformation statement, roaring:

“Let me reiterate Israel’s policy: We will not allow a regime hell-bent on the annihilation of the Jewish state to acquire nuclear weapons.”

“We will not allow that regime to entrench itself militarily in Syria, as it seeks to do, for the express purpose of eradicating our state.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

US citizens have been lied into two wars in recent memory, the Iraq war, and the Afghanistan war; we will not sit still for being lied into a third against Iran, for which Saudi Arabia and Israel are cheerleading, but fuly expect that the costs of "victory" (if there is one) will be exclusively borne by American blood and American money.

And I hope, if President Trump, signs off on such a military misadventure, as has been Afghanistan, Lybia, and Iraq, that he will seriously consider the following hard reality; Russia has vowed to come to Iran's aid, if attacked militarily.

Trump administration allegedly considering plan to privatize CIA operations

The news site, which described the proposed plans as “highly unusual”, quoted “three sources who have been briefed on or have direct knowledge of the proposals”. The sources told BuzzFeed that, if approved, the plans would include the establishment of large intelligence networks in so-called “denied areas” —namely foreign environments deemed hostile. The networks would recruit and handle local agents, carry out psychological operations, capture terrorism suspects and rendition them to the US or third countries. “Islamic extremism” is mentioned as the primary target of the proposals.

Syrian state television has confirmed that Israel attacked a military base outside of Damascus overnight on Friday, which Israeli media reports involved both surface-to-surface missiles and airstrikes, while Syria says its air defense systems were engaged and intercepted two missiles. Like other recent strikes inside Syria, the Israeli jets reportedly fired from over Lebanese airspace, in order to avoid both Syrian anti-aircraft missile systems and provoking a Russian response. Though the extent of the damage or casualties is not yet known, Syrian media has confirmed material damage to the base, and other reports indicate mass power outages in some of parts of Damascus occurred immediately after the attack, which SANA says happened at 12:30am local time.

US recognition of Jerusalem as Israeli capital will destroy peace process – Palestine & Arab League

The Palestinian Authority and the Arab League have warned the US against recognizing Jerusalem as Israeli capital, saying it would increase instability and put an end to the peace process. Armed group Hamas threatened more violence in the city.

“The world will pay the price” for any change in the status of Jerusalem, Mahmoud Habash, one of the top advisors to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said Saturday. Habash, who was speaking in the presence of Abbas, added that the recognition of the city as the Israeli capital will lead to “complete destruction of the peace process,” as cited by Ynet News.

Also Saturday, Abbas spoke on the phone with Jordan's King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, French President Emmanuel Macron and Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, asking the leaders to put pressure on US President Donald Trump to give up on his plans.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Abbas really doesn't understand the agenda here at all; I am perplexed that he doesn't realize by now that Netanyahu is one of President Trump's most trusted "President Whisperers".

The purpose of this coming recognition, is to create a situation where massive Palestinian violence ensues, giving Netanyahu the "justification" for creating mass genocide against Palestinians, men, women, and children.

That is precisely the outcome Netanyahu, and President Trump, want to achieve through this recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The Folly of Deploying US Tactical Nuclear Weapons to South Korea

The mudslinging between US President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and the near-daily handicapping of whether the US and North Korea are bound for war have overshadowed an important debate in South Korea over whether the US should redeploy tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) on ROK territory. Proposals that US government officials and defense experts have floated to ease South Korean worries about the credibility of the US extended deterrent have primarily focused on bolstering US/ROK conventional defenses against North Korean aggression. These measures, while necessary in the short-term, may not be sufficient to contain South Korean pressure for either US TNW deployments or development of an indigenous nuclear weapons program over the long-run, especially if the conservative party returns to power.

San Diego opens giant tent to house 350 homeless people to help contain a hepatitis A outbreak that has killed 20

San Diego on Friday opened the first of three industrial-sized tents to house the homeless as part of the city's efforts to contain a hepatitis outbreak stemming from the deplorable conditions people were living in on the streets.
About 20 people made their way to a bunk bed Friday in the tent that will house 350 single men and women.

Two other giant tents will open later this month - one for families and one for veterans. The tents will house a total of 700 people.

The city turned to tents to get people off the streets and contain a hepatitis A outbreak that has killed 20 people in the past year, marking the worst epidemic of its kind in the US in 20 years. The virus lives in feces.

'There's going to be a marked different in what we see on the streets today and what we see at this time next year,' said Bob McElroy of the Alpha Project, the nonprofit group that will operate the tent that opened Friday.

Amnesty seeks criminal inquiry into Shell over alleged complicity in murder and torture in Nigeria

A review of thousands of internal company documents and witness statements published on Tuesday points to the Anglo-Dutch organisation’s alleged involvement in the brutal campaign to silence protesters in the oil-producing Ogoniland region in the 1990s.

Amnesty is urging the UK, Nigeria and the Netherlands to consider a criminal case against Shell in light of evidence it claims amounts to “complicity in murder, rape and torture” – allegations Shell strongly denies.

Shell stopped operations in Ogoniland in early 1993 citing security concerns but “subsequently sought ways to re-enter the region and end the protests by the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, Mosop”, claims Amnesty.

On 30 April the same year troops guarding Shell’s contractors opened fire on protesters injuring 11 people, and a man was fatally shot at Nonwa village in a separate incident several days later.

Though the extent of the damage or casualties is not yet known, Syrian media has confirmed material damage to the base, and other reports indicate mass power outages in some of parts of Damascus occurred immediately after the attack, which SANA says happened at 12:30am local time.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is going to be a point past which Russia is going to need to stop Israel from these unprovoked attacks against Syria; the only questions are, when, and how dramatically this will happen.

Trump administration allegedly considering plan to privatize CIA operations

The United States Central Intelligence Agency and the White House are considering several proposals to hire private companies to carry out covert operations abroad, according to a report.

BuzzFeed News said on Thursday that the proposals were communicated to the White House in the summer.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am more than a little concerned over Mike Pompeo's desire to make the the CIA "much more vicious". What, precisely, please, did he mean by that?!?

Is the US about to outsource torture, so that the CIA can collectively say with a straight face, "we didn't torture the guy, honest!!"?!?

Torture rarely produces actionable intelligence; it gets the tortured person to say what he thinks his torturers want to hear in order to get the torture to stop.

And when agents of the US torture, or outsource the torture, two things happen; people around the world understand, fully, that this country lies through its teeth about respecting the rights of prisoners of war, even as a signatory to the Geneva Conventions, and such torture gives carte blanche of leaders of other countries to torture Americans and our American military.

One of the people who used kindness, and never violence, in his interrogations was Germany's Hans Scharff, during World War II.
Hans Scharff,Nazi Germany's Master Interrogator, used kindness, not brutality.

He was so well respected by the American military that he was hired to teach classes in his process in this country after the war.

What an apparently very misguided Mike Pompeo needs to do is to make interrogations more effective and actional-evidence proucing, which is completely, utterly incompatible with making interrogations more brutal and sadistic.

Shock EIGHT-point lead for Labour: Corbyn stretches his lead over Tories to largest gap for five months, says only pollster to call the Election right

Jeremy Corbyn has stretched his lead over the Tories to eight points – the largest gap in any poll for five months.

The poll by Survation, which was the only company to accurately forecast June’s General Election result, puts Labour on 45 per cent, with the Conservatives trailing on 37 per cent.

The findings will be greeted with dismay inside No 10, which had taken heart from the fact that despite Theresa May’s multiplying political problems – her disastrous conference speech, the loss of Sir Michael Fallon from her Cabinet in the sex harassment furore and the pornography row hanging over First Secretary Damian Green – it had not fed through into a significant lead for Mr Corbyn.

Maxine Waters: We’re Going to ‘Find’ that Trump ‘Needs to Be Impeached’

In a Saturday appearance on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) continued her crusade against President Donald Trump in the wake of former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s guilty plea, saying it will be found the president “needs to be impeached.”

“I think it’s going to be hard for the Republicans to continue to be silent and standing with this president as it unfolds,” Waters said to host Joy Reid. “This is the tip of the iceberg. There’s lots more to come. And I think it’s going to lead right to not only collusion, obstruction of justice, money laundering. It goes on and on and on.”

Daily Fail: Profits & shares in Britain’s most (in)famous tabloid nosedive

The Daily Mail’s hysterical right-wing rhetoric could be driving away readers and advertisers. The British tabloid’s publisher has reported a staggering loss of £112 million ($151 million).

Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT), which also owns the Mail on Sunday and the Metro, reported a 13-percent drop in profits to £226 million ($304 million) on Friday. Saying it had been “adversely affected by recent disposals and challenging conditions in some of our sectors,” it set gloomy forecasts for the future as well.

Tokyo and Seoul will be first to fall victim if there is war on Korean Peninsula – Lavrov

Japan and South Korea, whom the US is trying to involve in provocations against North Korea, will become the first victims if conflict breaks out in the region, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned.
“While condemning Pyongyang's nuclear missile adventurism, we cannot but condemn the provocative behavior of our American colleagues,” Lavrov said in an interview with Belarusian broadcaster STV.

“Unfortunately, they are trying to drag the Japanese and South Koreans in the same direction, who... will be the first victims in the event of war on the Korean Peninsula.”

Earlier this week, North Korea carried out its first missile test in two months, firing an ICBM that allegedly can reach the US mainland. The US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, reacted to the test by urging more sanctions against Pyongyang and threatening that “if war comes… the North Korean regime will be utterly destroyed.”
